‘Agents are working’ – Everton hopeful of finally landing Sweden

everton Have previously tried to sign Bologna’s Emil Holm and may get another chance.

The last 12 months have been disappointing for the right-back. He was loaned to Juventus in January after inconsistency in the first half of the campaign in the Rossoblu.

Things did not change in Turin, as injury concerns plagued him. He played only seven times in Serie A and is expected to return to Bologna after the Old Lady decided against a permanent deal.

Now efforts are on to find a new club.

remaining steps Report about possible outgoing from Bologna. They have failed to qualify for Europe, meaning the list is missing some important players.

As things stand, Holm is one of the more unwanted players. Bologna are confident he will return to them and his ‘agents are working’ to find a new club.

A move to the Premier League is seen as the top option. The outlet says Everton have previously tried to sign him and that option would appeal to the right-back in the summer.

Bologna are also somewhat desperate to sell. He believes the sale of Holm could reduce the need to move key players such as Jonathan Rowe or Santiago Castro, who could play a bigger role for them next season.

toffee goes risky

The last 12 months have been somewhat of an alarm bell when it comes to Holm signings. He continues to suffer from muscle injuries and is set to withdraw for the 2024/25 campaign. At that time he suffered four different injuries, which had a direct impact on his playing style.

The Sweden international is a type of full-back who was very active on the right side. He was consistently bombing forwards from deep, especially during his time at Spezia.

Now, a move would be a big risk for Everton. An initial loan deal could help the 26-year-old get back on track and prevent the Toffees from spending much up front.

5 possible landing positions including heat and piston

Earlier this month, the Dallas Mavericks finally got a new head of basketball operations when they hired former Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors executive Masai Ujiri. Well, it didn’t take long for the one-time executive to make his first big move and it happened on Tuesday night when he fired Hall of Famer Jason Kidd as head coach.

However, Ujiri may not be done yet when it comes to major changes. There were recent rumors that the team would consider trading nine-time All-Star Kyrie Irving during the season if he can prove he is fully healthy after returning from a torn ACL in March 2025. Well, they may not have to wait that long.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, “There is fear all over the world that the Mavericks are likely to receive trade interest in Irving this offseason, whether they want it or not.” If Dallas has seriously considered trade offers for a player who misses the 2025-26 season, let’s take a look at five teams that could make a deal.

minnesota timberwolves

kyrie irving
USA TODAY Sports via Reuters Connect

After falling short in the semifinals of the NBA Playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to make a big move that could send them to the NBA Finals next spring. They have been linked to a potential trade for stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant and Kevin Durant over the past few years. If they can’t make a deal for either of those players this summer, Irving could be an interesting backup option.

There is definitely risk in the deal. However, Irving would come at a cheaper price than Antetokounmpo or Durant. Especially when he has two years and $81 million left on his contract. However, if he can return as an All-Star closer in 2024-25, the combo of Irving and Anthony Edwards could be dynamite.

detroit pistons

kyrie irving
Visualize images via Reuters Connect

While the Detroit Pistons showed during the regular season that they are ready to be a force in the East right now, the playoffs proved that they are in desperate need of another impact scorer to pair with top star Cade Cunningham. Trading the 34-year-old coming off an ACL tear isn’t a typical Pistons move, but the price could make it a realistic option.

If healthy, Irving would be a great No. 2 scorer for Cunningham in 2026-27.

los angeles clippers

kyrie irving

It appears that the Los Angeles Clippers are rebuilding. They traded James Harden and were able to acquire the fifth pick in the NBA draft by transferring Ivica Zubac. Yet, they still have Kawhi Leonard and were in contention for a playoff spot last month. Some around the league think they might even consider trading their first-rounder to bring in another star next month.

This may be too high a price for Irving. However, if LA isn’t hit with a heavy draft penalty for the Aspiration Scandal, using a future pick to pair Irving with Leonard, and whoever they get with the No. 5 pick, could lead to a very good team next season.

Miami Heat

kyrie irving
usa today sports

The Miami Heat are likely to be star hunting this summer after a disappointing finish to the 2025-26 season. Before this year’s trade deadline, reports surfaced that the team was considering a trade for Ja Morant. If they were open to that idea, why not make a move for Irving instead? At least he’s less volatile and has played better over the years.

If they lose Norman Powell in free agency, the Heat will need to fill their scoring void. If healthy, the trio of Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Kyrie Irving could make some noise in the East next season.

Chicago Bulls

kyrie irving
USA TODAY Sports via Reuters Connect

The Chicago Bulls are in rebuilding mode and plan to move forward with Josh Giddy and Matas Buzzelis as the new faces of the franchise. However, they need more attacking punch if they want to at least make a run for a play-in spot next season.

They certainly have the assets to trade and are at such a low point that they would risk adding a 34-year-old coming off ACL surgery and still owed over $80 million.

Rumor reveals 2 possible landing spots for Jason Kidd after Mavs firing, including West rival

After he was surprisingly fired by the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, a new report has revealed a pair of teams that may soon request an interview with the Hall of Famer.

Before the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers square off in a wild Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals inside Madison Square Garden, the Mavericks dropped a bombshell on the basketball world when reports surfaced that they had fired their head coach after five seasons.

Kidd led the team to the NBA Finals two years ago, and despite having four years and $40 million left on his contract after signing an extension through 2024, NBA insider Marc Stein claims that the new Mavs head of basketball operations, Masai Ujiri, wanted a “clean slate” after taking the job a few weeks ago.

It now means that a respected head coach, who was a great player as a player, is available to NBA teams, with or without an opening. Still, it’s quite possible that the 53-year-old takes a break and waits for the first opportunity to emerge after stints with the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Mavericks.

Could the Magic and Trail Blazers make Jason Kidd their next coach?

jason kidd
Visualize images via Reuters Connect

If he does interview, Steen pointed to a pair of teams that would make sense as landing spots for Kidd — first, the Orlando Magic. An NBA insider claims the team had serious interest in Kidd ahead of the 2021 season. And the same top decision-makers — head of basketball operations Jeff Weltman and top adviser John Hammond — who loved him then still hold those roles.

Another possible option for Kidd may surprise some people. “Kidd also has a long-standing relationship with Tom Dundon, the new owner of the Portland Trail Blazers, who has deep ties to Dallas.” The billionaire made his fortune in Big D, and the 10-time All-Star is a basketball legend in the city. So it makes sense that they have crossed each other’s paths over the years and formed a friendship.

Possibly the biggest obstacle to Kidd going to Portland is that all reports claim Dundon is looking to hire a new head coach on the cheap. The former Mavericks head coach is probably well out of his price range. However, with $40 million still coming his way, Kidd might be willing to take a discount for a friend and take a Trail Blazers team with a good young core.

4 Alvin Kamara Landing Spots Before Training Camp

The writing is on the wall for Alvin Kamara with the New Orleans Saints. This has been going on since March, when the team signed 27-year-old running back Travis Etienne to a four-year, $48 million contract. Kamara, who turns 31 in July, played in just 11 games last season, marking the first time he recorded fewer than 1,000 all-purpose yards in his seven-year career.

If the Saints decide to remove Kamara from the roster they could save a little over $13.9M (but incur a $24.3M dead cap charge). If they wait until after June 1, the Saints save a little more than $300,000, but they only have to face a $10 million dead cap fee. There’s always the possibility that a team is willing to trade for the remainder of Kamara’s contract, which has a cap hit of $10.4 million, a rate that could potentially be a bit high for a team already paying Etienne that much.

On Monday, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis acknowledged that the team is still “trying to see how Kamara fits into our roster.” This is a strong message to opposing teams, showing that the five-time Pro Bowl running back, who is quite adept at catching passes out of the backfield, is available via trade. Let’s take a look at which teams could make sense for Kamara.

RELATED: New Orleans Saints offer All-Pro contract

Strange as it may be, Kamara is essentially heading to Jacksonville to replace the man who replaced him in New Orleans. Still, it may also be a perfect fit. The Jaguars’ presumptive starter, running back Bhayashul Tuten, caught only 10 passes last season. There’s no guarantee he’s ready for a full workload, but having a nine-year veteran like Kamara in the backfield could do wonders for Liam Coen’s side.

green Bay Packers

Josh Jacobs is Green Bay’s biggest player, but the Packers also often relied on Emmanuel Wilson for a career-high 140 points last season. But Wilson is gone now, and if there’s one area in which Jacobs can improve, it’s as a pass-catcher, which is an area in which Kamara excels. He could be the perfect spellback for Matt LaFleur’s system.

Baltimore Ravens

Derrick Henry is one of the best running backs in the NFL. He is a devastating ball forward who always looks to drop forward, and is an excellent option near the goal line. But when it comes to speed and agility, or even moving the chains as a pass-catcher, there’s room for another playmaker in Baltimore’s backfield. This is an area where Kamara can fit perfectly.

dallas cowboys

Always pursuing big-name playmakers, the Cowboys could be an ideal fit for Kamara as a backup to Javonte Williams. Additionally, there is a possibility that Kamara is coming into the 2026 season with a huge challenge on his shoulders after a poor season last year. If so, the Cowboys could be getting an inspired star, just like they benefited from George Pickens last season.

Stefon Diggs’ best landing spot for the 2026-27 NFL season revealed

Stefon Diggs is still looking for a home ahead of the 2026-27 NFL season. After being released from the New England Patriots, Diggs hopes to land with a team capable of winning a Super Bowl next season. With the 2026 NFL Draft looming in the past, one ESPN writer has labeled him the “best” fit for the 32-year-old wide receiver.

As ESPN’s Matt Bowen wrote, the Los Angeles Rams are the “best” fit for Diggs in the upcoming 2026-27 NFL season. Diggs will be next to Puka Nakua and Davante Adams, giving the Rams an excellent wide receiver trio for starting quarterback Matthew Stafford.

However, why would Los Angeles be the best landing spot for Diggs?

Why would the Los Angeles Rams be a good fit for Stefon Diggs?

NFL: New England Patriots at AFC Championship Game-Denver Broncos, Stefon Diggs
Visualize images via Reuters Connect

There are several reasons why the Rams would be a good fit for Diggs. In Los Angeles, the former Patriots wide receiver will work inside or outside, providing versatility to the organization. More importantly, Diggs won’t have to fill the wide receiver room like he did in New England.

Diggs will be lined up next to Necua and Adams, meaning he won’t get as much attention. This will be good for Stafford, as Diggs can spread out and operate in the middle of the field. There will be less pressure on the 32-year-old wide receiver as he looks to return to the Super Bowl. This is another reason why this will work.

Diggs is nearing the end of his NFL career, and Los Angeles is one of the favorites to win the 2027 Super Bowl. The Rams are considered a strong offensive team, but they worked on their defense during the 2026 NFL offseason. If Diggs joins the offense, it will become even more powerful.

Diggs’ days as an elite WR1 are over, but he can serve as a WR2. In Los Angeles, he will certainly be the best WR3 in the NFL. The Rams don’t need Diggs to compete for a Super Bowl, but adding him would boost their chances even more.

Los Angeles and Diggs seem like a perfect match, and it should be something both sides explore soon.

Los Angeles Rams named ‘interesting landing spot’ for All-Pro

Now that the rosters are mostly set, we’re starting to get a clearer picture of the differences between Super Bowl contenders and contenders. Claiming the NFL’s reigning MVP, the Los Angeles Rams clearly fall into the former category of teams reaching the postseason again in 2026.

The question is, do the Rams have what it takes to bounce back from falling short in the NFC Conference Championship?

One area that some predicted the Rams would address early in the 2026 NFL Draft was the wide receiver position behind Puka Nakua and Davante Adams. After using the 13th overall pick on quarterback Ty Simpson, the Rams waited until the sixth round to select a wide receiver.

Although the Rams haven’t done much to find an immediate impact pass-catcher, that could change. There are still several potentially game-changing receivers available in free agency.

recently, Sports IllustratedAlbert Breer suggested the Rams could also be a suit for Stefon Diggs, who has yet to find a home for 2026.

“I think Diggs would probably be somewhere in that one-year, $10 million range. The Chiefs could understand. The Commander could understand, because Diggs is from D.C., the Falcons and Rams would also be interesting landing spots.”

SI’s Albert Breer on Stefon Diggs

Diggs is now 32 years old, but the former All-Pro still recorded 1,017 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 17 starts with the New England Patriots last season. It was the seventh time Diggs recorded 1,000 receiving yards in his 11-year career.

With Nacua and Adams both entering the final year of their contracts, Diggs would be the perfect one-year solution to complement both playmakers. But would he want to be the third wheel on a team that has leaned more toward sets that use three tight ends instead of three receivers?

5 Russell Wilson landing spots before NFL training camps

Most athletes who have ever played football would love to have a career like Russell Wilson. After all, how many third-round picks can say they earned the title of franchise quarterback as a rookie?

Wilson did so and helped the Seattle Seahawks win the organization’s first Super Bowl in his second season of play. He did all this despite being short at 5 feet 11 inches and earning 10 Pro Bowl accolades along the way.

While Wilson had a stellar early career, he has come back down to earth recently, leading his team to just one playoff appearance since 2021. This comes after seven playoff appearances in their first eight seasons. Although the 37-year-old may no longer be viewed as a high-end starter, there is no doubt that he is still a capable quarterback who also showed game-changing ability with the Giants last season.

He has already received a contract offer from the New York Jets, but Wilson is also said to be considering TV opportunities. Still, if Wilson really wants to play but isn’t impressed by the Jets’ offer, who else could sign him this offseason?

new England Patriots

The Patriots have definitely found their franchise quarterback, so they are now filling out their depth chart with developmental prospects. His primary backup, Tommy DeVito, is a mix of both, but he may not have much untapped potential at this point. If Drake Mays gets hurt, are the Patriots really confident DeVito can lead a winning effort in multiple games? Wilson will definitely improve their chances.

detroit lions

The Lions continue to add Teddy Bridgewater, who could be excellent in helping the team during game-to-game preparation for their upcoming opponents. However, can he effectively lead the same high-powered offense that Jared Goff can? no way. Still, Wilson may have a better chance of maintaining the Lions’ explosive scoring attack, and he will also benefit from playing inside the domed stadium of Ford Field.

buffalo bill

NFL: AFC Divisional Round-Buffalo Bills at Denver Broncos
Ron Chenoy-Image Images

When Josh Allen is healthy, the Buffalo Bills are Super Bowl contenders. If he isn’t, and backup Kyle Allen has to lead the charge, the Bills are effectively screwed. While no one can replace Allen’s production as a passer and rusher, Wilson may be their best bet to help in a pinch. Plus, he’ll still get a chance to live in New York, as he did last year while playing for the Giants.

pittsburgh steelers

pittsburgh steelers
tommy gilligan-imagen images

A reunion? We can’t completely rule it out as Aaron Rodgers is still unsigned in free agency. Wilson led the Steelers to the playoffs once; Who’s to say he can’t do it again with Mike McCarthy pushing his buttons? This result would only make sense if Rodgers surprisingly decided not to sign in Pittsburgh, but for some reason, he still hasn’t agreed to a new contract.

denver broncos

Russell Wilson
Isaiah J. Downing-Imagen Images

Have the Broncos burned bridges with Wilson? It’s possible the ice hasn’t melted yet for Sean Payton and GM George Payton. Still, they recently expressed interest in adding a quarterback while Bo Nix recovers from surgery, and if for some reason he’s not ready for Week 1, Wilson would be a huge upgrade over Jarrett Stidham.

The 4 best Stefon Diggs landing spots after the NFL Draft

When Stefon Diggs became a free agent in March, his circumstances were a little different from his fellow athletes hitting the open market. For one, the 32-year-old has been dealing with legal issues that may have impacted his availability for the 2026-27 NFL season.

However, now that Diggs was cleared of those charges on May 4, the market for the four-time Pro Bowl receiver is expected to skyrocket. Since he is extremely competitive, we expect Diggs to prefer the chance to land with a playoff contender. Below, we evaluate the four best and most likely landing spots for the former All-Pro.

RELATED: 2026 NFL QB rankings: From the NFL’s worst starting QBs to the best

buffalo bill

How about a reunion? We would argue that the Bills still haven’t got their MVP QB enough help at the receiver position. DJ Moore may not be the solution, but we could see it working while adding Stefon Diggs to help take attention away from each other. Diggs already knows the offense, and he already has chemistry with Josh Allen. It makes a lot more sense not to work.

new England Patriots

The Patriots may have been concerned about the potential PR hit and potential future suspension of Diggs when deciding to release Diggs from their roster in March. Now that the NFL Draft has come and gone, the Patriots haven’t added anyone in free agency except Romeo Dobbs, so the Patriots should welcome Diggs with open arms and really try to win a Super Bowl this time.

kansas city chiefs

Who wouldn’t want to team up with Patrick Mahomes? Diggs is still chasing his first Super Bowl ring, and Kansas City has always been confident in his ability to reach the big game. Who knows? Maybe with Diggs, they could quickly get back to the top of the mountain.

Washington Commanders

Diggs is a DC native, which has led to frequent rumors that he would like to play for the Washington Commanders. When it came time to choose a college, he decided to stay close to home and play for Maryland. Now he’s been given the chance to choose his next destination, why not consider the opportunity to become a hometown hero?

4 Kenny Moore Landing Spots After Colts Release Pro Bowl CB

We’ve reached the part of the offseason where the Giants are starting to see the writing on the wall. Last year, the Indianapolis Colts traded two picks in the first round to make Sauce Gardner their new No. 1 CB. This did not change the role of Kenny Moore, who served as the team’s nickelback, but it did mean there was a new defensive leader in the clubhouse.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Moore requested and was granted his release by the Colts on Thursday.

Moore, a one-time Pro Bowler in 2021, has started 111 of the 132 games he appeared in with the Colts in 2017, when he arrived as an undrafted rookie free agent. Now 30, Moore feels he still has something to offer, just not to the Colts.

Still valued as one of the better nickelbacks in the NFL, Moore will be in high demand as a free agent. Which teams should sign a veteran corner?

RELATED: 2026 NFL Power Rankings: Evaluating the worst, best teams after the NFL Draft

tennessee titans

While Moore will likely want to join a contender, we can’t completely rule out the Titans hiring Gus Bradley as their defensive coordinator. Bradley was Moore’s defensive coordinator for three seasons from 2022 to 2024, and we think both sides would welcome a reunion under the right circumstances.

tampa bay buccaneers

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs

After saying goodbye to franchise icon Lavonte David, the Buccaneers would benefit from more experienced defensive leadership. Additionally, the team should still be looking for an upgrade considering the Buccaneers ranked near the bottom in points allowed, passing yards allowed and passing touchdowns allowed, and Tampa Bay hasn’t made many additions to its secondary this offseason.

san francisco 49ers

As mentioned, Moore may want to join a contender, and the 49ers could provide a comfortable home. The 49ers’ defensive coordinator is Matt Eberflus, who was the Colts’ defensive coordinator from Moore’s second season through his fifth season, including Moore’s only Pro Bowl season in 2021. After recording career-highs in interceptions (4) and tackles (102) in 2021, Moore will certainly welcome the chance to play for Eberflus again.

dallas cowboys

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans
Steve Roberts-Imagen Images

The Cowboys entered the 2026 NFL Draft with a need to improve at the cornerback position. While safety Caleb Downs would help in the secondary, the Cowboys did not select a corner until the fourth round. While Devin Moore could be part of the long-term solution in Dallas, the Cowboys may prefer to hire a veteran like Kenny Moore to help coach them.

5 landing spots including Kings and Nets

The possibility of Paolo Banchero being traded out of Orlando this summer is very high, according to a new report.

While the Orlando Magic star hasn’t been the dominant force the team needed as a former No. 1 pick, the 23-year-old is still a very talented player. He showed this with his 38 and 45-point performances in the playoff series against the Detroit Pistons. However, it cannot be denied that he has been the face of a team that has suffered first-round exits in three consecutive seasons.

For now, head coach Jamahl Mosley is taking the blame after being fired on Monday. However, an interesting report from ESPN NBA insiders Tim Bontemps and Brian Windhorst doesn’t look good for Banchero.

“They’re kind of a mess. Their ceiling isn’t very high with Paolo. Their roster construction is off right now,” said one East scout. “…It’s hard to see him leading his team.”

If scouts feel that way about Banchero, it’s likely Magic management feels the same way, especially considering they’ve played well without him during the season. If Orlando does boldly trade the 2022 No. 1 pick, let’s take a look at five teams that could target a trade.

dallas mavericks

Mavericks
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

Now that Masai Ujiri has been installed as the new president of the Dallas Mavericks, the team will certainly be aggressive in building the roster around last year’s No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg. The Mavs have the contracts to make a deal work, but they would have to give up some future first-round picks to garner interest from the Magic. If they do, the combination of Flagg and Banchero will excite Dallas fans for the next five years.

Brooklyn Nets

Net
Wendell Cruz-Imagen Images

The Brooklyn Nets desperately need a long-term face of the franchise. Their rebuild has been poor so far, and they don’t seem eager to make Michael Porter Jr. the heart of their roster. The Nets certainly have draft assets and interesting young talent. The big question is, does Orlando see a big upside in many of its first-round prospects from last June?

Sacramento Kings

Kings
Sergio Estrada-Imagen Images

The Sacramento Kings will be aggressive in making changes to their roster this offseason after a disastrous 2025-26 campaign. They have two additional first-rounders in the upcoming draft, including two in 2027. What makes the Kings an interesting trade partner is that Orlando could return future first-rounder and three-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis.

Despite his age (just turned 30) and injury problems this season, the forward and first-rounder would be a nice return for Orlando. While Sactown have got a new young star in the deal.

phoenix sun

sons
Brett Davis-Imagen Images

The Phoenix Suns made great strides in 2025-26 after being one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA a season ago. New head coach Jordan Ott implemented a more defensive-minded system that would certainly fit with Banchero, as he played for the Magic.

He won’t come cheap and may cost him some future first-round picks, but the combo of Banchero and Devin Booker could make Phoenix a force in the West for the next few years.

Chicago Bulls

BULLS
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

The Chicago Bulls are going through a major transformation. They have a new front office leader and are looking for a replacement for head coach Billy Donovan. Chicago also needs a proven star to be the face of this new era.

They definitely don’t want to trade Josh Giddy or Matas Buzelis. But they could offer multiple first-round picks, including one of their two potential selections in a stacked draft next month. It might not be enough to convince Orlando, but they could work out a pretty good trade package.

4 potential Brandon Sorsby landing spots in the NFL supplemental draft

Texas Tech Red Raiders quarterback Brandon Sorsby is facing the possibility of being stripped of his eligibility by the NCAA in 2022 for allegedly betting on football games while he was with the Indiana Hoosiers. If that happens, the NFL’s supplemental draft may once again be relevant.

While the supplemental draft once produced starting-caliber players such as Josh Gordon (2012) and Ahmad Brooks (2006), a player has not been selected since 2019. Given the number of quarterback-needy teams around the league, Sorsby could change that if he decides to turn pro.

Let’s look at some potential landing spots for Soursby in the NFL supplemental draft.

green Bay Packers

Brandon Sorsby, NFL Supplemental Draft
Nathan Giese/Avalanche-Journal/via USA TODAY Network Images

This may come as a surprise. However, the Green Bay Packers would love to have a developmental quarterback behind Jordan Love who they can potentially help like they did with Malik Willis. There will be no pressure on Soursby to play in Green Bay, as he can sit behind both Love and Desmond Ridder. The Packers are projected to receive compensatory picks in Rounds 3 and 4 in the 2027 NFL Draft, which could give general manager Brian Gutekunst the option to sacrifice a third-round pick forfeiture to take Soursby in the supplemental draft. He will have four years of contractual control and can develop for another year before making him Love’s backup in 2027. After that, he’ll still be only 24 years old and the Packers could potentially flip him for premium draft capital in the 2028 NFL Draft.

We are prioritizing landing locations first, where Sorsby will be under no pressure to see the field in the near future. The Dallas Cowboys have already demonstrated they are willing to gamble on young quarterbacks with attractive physical tools (Trey Lance and Joe Milton); Sorsby was a more attractive prospect than any of them when he was acquired. It will also be a homecoming for the 23-year-old quarterback, who starred at Lake Dallas High School in Denton, Texas. Sorsby will have the opportunity to learn from Dak Prescott for two-plus years before potentially taking over as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback in 2028. This may have required Jerry Jones to sacrifice a second-day pick, but he has made more aggressive moves with first-round draft capital for worse players.

Brandon Sorsby, NFL Supplemental Draft

While Brandon Sorsby has played 34 career collegiate games, he wasn’t really viewed as a major quarterback prospect for the NFL until last year. Now that he is dealing with a gambling scandal, there is too much risk in thrusting him into a starting role so soon. However, the worst NFL teams are willing to take more chances. Fortunately, the Miami Dolphins already have a starting quarterback to whom they are financially committed for 2026. Malik Willis’ contract should ensure that he remains the Dolphins’ starter, allowing the coaching staff to use this season as a development year for Soursby. If he makes a strong impact and demonstrates he’s ready to be the starter, Miami could potentially use a top-three pick on wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

New York Jets

Brandon Sorsby, NFL Supplemental Draft

If Brandon Sorsby were to be selected in the second round in the NFL supplemental draft, the New York Jets would come up as a potential option. They already have three first-round selections in the 2027 NFL Draft, so that Round 2 selection could already stand out as a potential trade chip. Many will believe that Soursby could challenge to become the Jets’ starting quarterback very soon, but the coaching staff is very committed to Geno Smith. A better plan would be to give Smith the first three months of the season before Soursby gets a trial run as the starter in December. If he performs really well, New York could use their first trio to build a core around him. If he struggles, take Arch Manning or Dante Moore.

5 possible landing spots including the Panthers

Brady Tkachuk trade rumors have become more rampant over the past week. After the Ottawa Senators were swept by the Carolina Hurricanes, there has been talk of Tkachuk moving to a different team. After all, this sounds very similar to Quinn Hughes, who was traded to the Minnesota Wild during the 2025-26 NHL season.

Tkachuk has a no-movement clause, meaning he must approve a trade from Ottawa to any organization. The 26-year-old forward is one of the NHL’s most polarizing players. With two years remaining on his contract, trading Tkachuk wouldn’t be cheap. Only a few teams could realistically do that this summer.

Below, we consider five landing spots for Tkachuk as trade rumors heat up, including the Florida Panthers.

chicago blackhawks

NHL: Chicago Blackhawks at Dallas Stars
Jerome Miron-Imagen Images

The Chicago Blackhawks have not made the Stanley Cup playoffs since 2020, but Tkachuk will take the team to the next level. Emerging superstar Connor Bedard would be an excellent fit with the Senators at forward, and Chicago has arguably the best prospect system in the NHL. It will be questionable whether Tkachuk will approve the Blackhawks, but the organization should at least attempt to do so.

detroit red wings

NHL: Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens
David Kirouac-Imagen Images

The Detroit Red Wings have the longest playoff drought in the NHL, but adding Tkachuk would be great for the organization. Detroit needs more physicality and general manager Steve Yzerman is adamant on the need for better players. The biggest question is why Tkachuk would approve a trade with Detroit this summer. The Red Wings should try to give Tkachuk a reason to stay in Detroit with a big offseason.

utah mammoth

Utah Mammoth, Brady Tkachuk trade rumors
rob gray-image images

The Utah Mammoth have the assets to trade for Tkachuk this offseason. Plus, if the 26-year-old forward wants to win, Utah would be a good landing spot. The Mammoth are currently in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs and look like a team that can advance to the second round. If Utah makes a deep run, it could open the door for Tkachuk to join a Stanley Cup-caliber organization.

st louis blues

NHL: St. Louis Blues at Dallas Stars
Jerome Miron-Imagen Images

The St. Louis Blues could be one of the favorites to trade Tkachuk this offseason. Tkachuk grew up in St. Louis and is close to Blues center Robert Thomas. While the Senators would like to see Thomas in a potential trade, Tkachuk would like to play with his close family friend. The NHL organization was no closer to making the playoffs, but Tkachuk may have had a deep desire to play in St. Louis.

Florida Panthers

NHL: Florida Panthers at Montreal Canadiens
David Kirouac-Imagen Images

The Panthers are undoubtedly the top landing spot for Tkachuk. After earning two Stanley Cup rings, Florida missed the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs. Led by Brady’s brother Matthew Tkachuk, the Panthers should return to contention after an injury-filled season. The Panthers will have a top-10 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, and Tkachuk would love to play alongside his brother in the playoffs.

Evaluating landing spots for Round 1 2026 NFL Draft selections

The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is over, and we’ve seen some skill players come off the board. Jeremiah Love is the headliner, but there are several top wide receiver prospects who are finding themselves in attractive landing spots and, of course, there are quarterbacks and tight ends who have come off the board.

Let’s dive into our fantasy football analysis of where each skill player taken in Round 1 ended up. Note, we’re doing this in the order they were chosen.

RELATED: Winners, losers from Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft

Fernando Mendoza, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

How do you feel about Jared Goff? That’s pretty much all you’re going to get from Fernando Mendoza in his peak years. The good news is that he already has an All-Pro offensive weapon in Brock Bowers, and we’re confident that Clint Kubiak can get the most out of Mendoza. For 2026, we don’t see any realistic outcome where Mendoza is a top-16 fantasy quarterback. Looking ahead to the next decade, his status could be one of their top-12 fantasy options.

Jeremiah Love, RB, Arizona Cardinals

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Was this the ideal landing spot for Jeremiah Love from a fantasy football perspective? No, not even close. The Arizona Cardinals’ offensive line leaves a lot to be desired and, as helpful as Jacoby Brissett was in increasing their number of pass-catchers, Love will face a stacked box because of who Arizona has under center. As the saying goes, it’s the talent that counts. Ashton Jeanty averaged the 11th-most fantasy points among running backs on ESPN as a rookie, and Love’s pass-catching ability is better. We see Love as a top 10 fantasy pick this season and, if the situation ever improves in Arizona, he could be a top three RB in the offseason alongside Bijan Robinson and Jahmir Gibbs.

RELATED: 2026 Dynasty Positional Rankings

Carnell Tate, WR, Tennessee Titans

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

The Tennessee Titans made it abundantly clear tonight that they are fully in on Cam Ward and are willing to invest premium draft capital to back him up. Carnell Tate, the most polished wide receiver prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, steps in as the clear No. 1 receiver in Brian Daboll’s offense. When people compare him to Calvin Ridley, remember this is the version of the player who put up 3,061 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in his first three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. We’d feel confident drafting Tate as a mid-tier WR2 in fantasy football this year, and he could be a high-tier No. 2 long-term.

Jordan Tyson, WR, Arizona State

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Medical care is the primary concern for Jordan Tyson. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall with very good speed and excellent ball skills, he is capable of making big plays both downfield and in the red zone. He’s already a very good route runner who knows how to isolate downfield, a perfect pairing with Tyler Shaw. Some will point to the downside that he’ll share looks with Chris Olave, but Kellen Moore is a very good play-caller, and there are a growing number of examples of a passing game that can support two high-end receivers from a fantasy perspective. We think Tyson can become a low-end WR2 this season, but there will be some instability, and you must remember he has a long track record of lower body injuries.

Ty Simpson, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Well, that’s what happened. Ty Simpson clearly has no fantasy football value in 2026. So, it’s really an attempt to look at him through the lens of the dynasty perspective. There really isn’t a better landing spot for a young quarterback, as this Los Angeles Rams offense will have Sean McVay and Puka Nakua for years to come. It appears we are optimistic about Simpson long-term. Except that, Simpson is only a pedestrian athlete at the quarterback position, with arm strength and playmaking ability that can only be described as adequate. There is no top five fantasy QB upside here, not by a long shot. We don’t view him as a quarterback prospect worth passing on.

Kenyon Saadiq, TE, New York Jets

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

The fantasy football landscape at tight end isn’t as thin as it used to be. That said, Kenyon Saadiq has the potential to be a top-five player at the position. He is “only” 6 feet 3 inches tall, but his athleticism is off the charts. He is just as capable of leapfrogging a defender (43.5″ vertical leap) or making an acrobatic catch in the end zone as he is taking a short pass and turning on the jets with his speed (4.39 40-yard dash time). Plus, landing with the New York Jets means he’s in the offense with the No. 1 wide receiver, who immediately draws the defense’s attention, and New York’s other first-round pick (Omar Cooper Jr.) creates even more open space. NFL comparisons to Vernon Davis and Trey McBride; Sadiq is that special someone as an athlete and he could be one of the best fantasy players in the coming years.

Makai Lemmon, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

So it is clear that AJ Brown is being traded to the New England Patriots in the first week of June. Makai Lemon, who almost landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, immediately moved into the No. 2 role in the Philadelphia Eagles offense. This assumes he’s playing DeVonta Smith’s role (113 targets in 17 games last season). There are Amon-Ra Saint Brown-lite qualities here with Lemon, and his skill set is perfect for making an impact in his rookie season. However, his upside is limited as he will be in a run-heavy offense and catching passes from a quarterback whose accuracy issues have already frustrated his two star wide receivers. Lemon may be a high-end WR2 in fantasy at some point in his career, but he’ll become a WR3 in 2026.

Casey Concepcion, WR, Cleveland Browns

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

While the quarterback situation is still a bit fluid with the Cleveland Browns, we like this landing spot for Casey Concepcion. He has an opportunity to immediately become the best receiver on the Browns offense, and play-caller Todd Monken has a proven track record of finding ways to get the football in the hands of his playmakers. As a rookie, we could also see Cleveland take advantage of his explosiveness as a returner. Our guess is that Concepcion will become a risk-reward WR3 this upcoming season and, in the long term, if he cleans up the downs and gets a great quarterback, he could be a high-end WR2.

Omar Cooper Jr., WR, New York Jets

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Reporting in the weeks leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft made it clear that the New York Jets were relying heavily on Omar Cooper Jr. Sure enough, they moved late in Round 1 to stop him. The NFL comparisons to Deebo Samuel are legitimate; Cooper offers attractive YAC ability at 6 feet tall, and defensive backs have a tough task bringing him down. He’s also running in a situation where Garrett Wilson and Kenyon Saadiq will already draw defenders away, creating more open space for Cooper to operate. He profiles as a low-end WR3 in fantasy for the 2026 season, but there is a very real long-term benefit to him being a strong WR2.

Jadarion Price, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy football, 2026 nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Jadarion Price has certainly landed in a relatively favorable spot from a fantasy football perspective. Zach Charbonnet faces a long recovery from ACL surgery in January, and Emmanuel Wilson isn’t much of a depth prospect. Price entered the NFL with minimal tread on tires, handling only 295 career touches in three seasons at Notre Dame. He averaged more than 6 yards per carry in each of his previous seasons and scored a total of 20 scrimmage touchdowns on 243 attempts. The approach he brings bodes well for immediate success, and a clear path to a leading role in the Seahawks’ offense. However, his current limitations at third in PPR scoring impact his value. For now, he projects as a low-end RB2 in 2026 with more solid flex play.

4 James Connor Trade Landing Spots After Cardinals Draft Jeremiah Love

The Arizona Cardinals delivered the first mini-surprise of the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Notre Dame star running back Jeremiah Love with the third overall pick in the first round. While love can help overcome crime without recognition, it also means James Connor’s days in Arizona are numbered.

Now that Love is the undisputed RB1 in Arizona, let’s evaluate some potential trade destinations for Connor, who is a two-time Pro Bowler and has a pair of 1,000-yard seasons to his name.

The Chargers believe they have their RB of the future in last year’s first-round selection Omarion Hampton. They also brought in a fast bowler in the form of Keaton Mitchell. Still, a Harbaugh team can never have enough running backs, and Connor is a proven bruiser who is one of the NFL’s toughest players. It will fit perfectly with the bolt.

jacksonville jaguars

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Jacksonville Jaguars
jasen winlove-imagen images

The Jaguars let Travis Etienne sign with the Saints this offseason, and 2025 fourth-round pick Fearshul Tuten may not be ready for a major role. Hopefully the Jaguars add a RB in the next two days, but if not, why not consider trading a draft pick on day three for a proven stopgap like Connor? He is just a year removed from a 1,094-yard, 8 TD season. At the very least, it will buy the Jaguars longer to find a long-term solution.

las vegas raiders

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Las Vegas Raiders
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Ashton Jeanty is the future of the Raiders. Still, after a tough rookie season, Las Vegas likely wants to boost the competition in their RB room. Jeanty will undoubtedly still be the starter, but having a veteran like Connor, who has had to work tirelessly to earn and keep his role, could be invaluable to a young athlete like Jeanty.

Javonte Williams is the Cowboys’ lead back after a 1,200-yard season. But after that? There are some deep questions in Dallas. The Cowboys have four other guys on the roster, clearly trying to find a reliable backup and potentially a future RB1. Connor won’t be the RB1 of the future, but he will erase any doubt about the Cowboys having enough stuff to get the job done in the RB room.

5 George Pickens landing spots during the draft, including LA Rams, as trade speculation heats up

George Pickens’ future in Dallas is no longer a sure thing. After quieting his doubters and improving his reputation with a breakout season for the Cowboys in 2025, owner and general manager Jerry Jones insisted for weeks that locking up the receiver to a long-term deal was inevitable. Well, that can’t happen now.

On Wednesday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter claimed in an episode Rise That “They’re nowhere with George Pickens at this point. Nowhere. They’re not really talking about an extension.” Later in the day, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told Dallas media, “There will be no negotiations on a long-term deal,” and the pass catcher will play on his $27.3 million franchise tag next season.

This has led to much speculation that the team may consider moving Pickens during the NFL Draft, specifically in Round 1. If he makes that bold move, let’s take a look at five teams that could acquire the player who posted 93 catches, 1,429 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 2025.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

There’s a lot of talk that Dallas would prefer to move up to No. 3 and select David Bailey or Arvel Reese — or whoever the New York Jets don’t take at No. 2. Either could be a long-term solution to fill the gap left in the pass rush after trading Micah Parsons last year.

However, some question whether the ‘Guys, giving up their picks at Nos. 12 and 20, will be tempting to the Arizona Cardinals. But if they offer Pickens and the No. 20 pick as well as the third-day pick, it could be enough. While the Cards have a messy QB situation, the combo of Pickens and Marvin Harrison Jr. will be good weapons for their signal-caller in 2026 and beyond.

New York Jets

new york jet
Rich Barnes-Images

The Cowboys could also try to move up to No. 2 as rumors have been swirling for weeks that the Jets are willing to trade down.

New York coach Aaron Glenn is feeling a lot of pressure to perform better in 2026 or he may be fired. They have high expectations for veteran QB Geno Smith. So getting another big weapon like Pickens could potentially lead to a drastic change in the offense next season. Dallas could benefit from Glenn’s frustration and get whoever they want at No. 2.

los angeles chargers

los angeles chargers
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Los Angeles Chargers are looking to take another big step forward in Year 2 under head coach Jim Harbaugh. They lack a game-breaker receiver in 2025. If Pickens were acquired he could help elevate them into a true Super Bowl contender. Due to the impact Pickens can have on offensive coordinator Mike McDaniels’ system, LA may be willing to drop their pick at 22 for the receiver and give him an extension to serve as Justin Herbert’s WR1 for years to come.

Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams
eric kanha-imagen images

At the beginning of the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams showed they were fully prepared to finish their Super Bowl story when they gave up the No. 29 pick in Round 1 to the Kansas City Chiefs for All-Pro Trent McDuffie. Reports linked him to a possible trade for Philadelphia Eagles star AJ Brown last month. However, they backed out of a deal.

Would LA be willing to give up their pick at 13 in Round 1 for Pickens? Probably not. However, a deal that sends pick No. 13 and Davante Adams to Dallas for Pickens, pick 20, and a third-rounder could be possible. The Cowboys will have picks 12 and 13 in Round 1, as well as a good replacement for Pickens. While the Rams make a lethal WR duo for reigning MVP Matthew Stafford next season.

new England Patriots

new England Patriots
eric kanha-imagen images

Another team that can’t be ruled out in the potential George Pickens trade market is the New England Patriots. They desperately need a young receiver if they hope to have a real chance to get back to the Super Bowl next season.

They are among the teams interested in AJ Brown. However, it may cost two first-round picks. Giving up their pick at No. 31 on Thursday night, plus a third-rounder, could be enough to get them the WR1 Drake Mays wants.

Insider names top landing spot for Lucas Giolito

Lucas Giolito entered the offseason as one of the better starting pitchers available in MLB free agency outside of high-cost arms. He remains a free agent about a month into the 2026 season, but that could change soon.

MLB insider Robert Murray wrote for FanSided that he believes the San Diego Padres are the best fit for Giolito. San Diego is also one of two clubs that were recently linked to the veteran hurler.

RELATED: MLB Power Rankings Week 3, Padres Soar

San Diego is currently operating with a bit of a patchwork rotation. German Marquez and Walker Buehler have been placed in roles as back-end starters, with both veterans facing even more pressure to pitch innings now that Nick Pivetta has joined Joe Musgrove on the injured list.

Unfortunately for San Diego, the return timeline for neither Pivetta nor Musgrove is promising. Pivetta, who started on Opening Day, has been diagnosed with a flexor strain that will keep him from throwing for at least a month. There is no timetable for his return and he may not be able to pitch again in 2026.

RELATED: Padres GM could be on the hot seat

Musgrove, who missed all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, initially looked like he might rejoin the Padres rotation in late May. However, the club reported that he was in “a bit of a holding pattern” in early March and a month later he still has not pitched off a mound.

Giolito, who pitched 145 innings for the Boston Red Sox last season, recently said he has increased his pitch count to 75 pitches so far. However, given the poor track record of starting pitchers signing at the end of the season, it would be a risk for San Diego to sign him as well.

Is Kentucky basketball getting closer to landing the No. 1 high school recruit in America?

It looks like the Kentucky Wildcats are on the verge of a major coup after an update on their search for the No. 1 high school recruit in the country.

After going 24-12 in his first season replacing coaching veteran John Calipari, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope is feeling the pressure. In 2025–26, the Wildcats finished with a 22–14 record and 10–8 mark in the SEC. In the NCAA Tournament, they barely surprised Santa Clara in the opening round, then lost badly to Iowa State in the round of 32.

Their results last season have led to speculation that Pope may not be able to maintain the very high standard of the powerhouse program. The coach now must perform well in the transfer portal and add to a roster that makes significant progress next season. However, the portal isn’t the only way to improve the roster for next season.

This past season showed how impactful a star freshman can be. Duke’s Cam Boozer, Arkansas’ Darius Acuff Jr., Kansas’ Darrin Peterson, and BYU’s AJ DiBuntsa all had huge years in their collegiate debuts. Recruit Tyrann Stokes has the potential to do the same in 2026-27, and the Wildcats are ready to meet him soon.

Kentucky basketball meeting with Troyan Stokes again this week

In a new conversation with NBA.com’s Kristen Peake, Stokes revealed he plans to meet with officials from the Kentucky basketball program again this week. The coaching staff has changed little since his first visit to campus, and it seems likely the Wildcats will try to sell him based on the improvements he has made.

The Rainier Beach High School product is viewed by many basketball analysts as the No. 1 recruit in the country. Yet, despite being near the start of his collegiate career, he has not committed to any program. Kentucky, Kansas and Oregon, along with other schools, are believed to be trying hard to land him.

The 6-foot-7 forward is very athletic and looks like a natural power forward. However, he is an effective ball handler and can lead the attack. During his senior season, he averaged 35 points and 14 boards a game.

Flori Bidunga enters NCAA transfer portal: Top 5 landing spots

Flori Bidunga is the top college basketball player in the NCAA transfer portal. Coming off a breakout season with the Kansas Jayhawks, Bidunga is an elite defensive anchor and high-efficiency finisher known for his incredible shot-blocking and explosive athleticism. The 20-year-old is dominant in the paint, shooting 64% from the field.

During the 2025–26 season, Bidunga averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.6 blocks per game. The 6-foot-10 standout finished seventh with a 64.0 field goal percentage while playing 31.6 minutes per match. Needless to say, Bidunga is going to demand a hefty price in the NCAA transfer portal.

Here are the five best landing spots for Bidunga as a top transfer player.

North Carolina Tar Heels

NBA: Denver Nuggets at New York Knicks
brad penner-image images

The North Carolina Tar Heels are looking to rebuild under new head coach Michael Malone, and Flory Bidunga would be a wonderful pick. With Caleb Wilson and Henry Visser likely leaving for the NBA, North Carolina could use a player of Bidunga’s caliber. The only drawback may be the unpredictability of Malone’s coaching style in college basketball.

louisville cardinals

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament Second Round-Louisville at Michigan State

The Louisville Cardinals are looking to bounce back after a disappointing season. Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey had a great first year, but the continuity did not carry into his second campaign. Now, Bidunga is scheduled to meet with the Cardinals on Friday, and if all goes well, he could eventually leave Kansas for Louisville.

St. John’s Red Storm

NCAA Basketball: Big East Conference Tournament Championship – Connecticut vs. St. John's
brad penner-image images

The St. John’s Red Storm need to replace Zubie Ejiofor, and Bidunga would be an excellent option. Ejiofor had elite defensive versatility, rim protection and rebounding with St. John’s, matching Bidunga’s strength on the court. If St. John’s head coach Rick Pitino wants to keep the same blueprint, Bidunga should be on the first line.

duke blue devils

NCAA Basketball: Duke at NC State
Zachary Taft-Imagen Images

The Duke Blue Devils would love to add Bidunga to their frontcourt. Patrick Ngongba is expected to declare for the NBA Draft, creating a huge need for a big man for the 2026-27 college basketball season. It would be a steep price to land Bidunga, but he would fit head coach John Scheyer’s system as Duke tries to climb the hill.

michigan wolverines

NCAA Basketball: Final Four National Semifinals-Michigan at Arizona

The Michigan Wolverines could lose Ade Mara and Moraz Johnson Jr. to the NBA Draft, leaving Budinga as an excellent fit. Even if Johnson stays, the 20-year-old big man will be a great addition to the frontcourt as head coach Dusty Mays looks for another national championship. Michigan is a major destination for transfer players, and Budinga will be an anchor for the team.

Washington Commander named ‘most likely landing spot’ for All-Pro

Washington Commanders general manager Adam Peters is busy preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins on April 23. While free agency gave coach Dan Quinn’s team a chance to fill immediate needs with proven players, the draft gives commanders a chance to add potential stars for a fraction of the cost. With a little luck, Commander might even add a franchise cornerstone or two.

Still, even though the upcoming draft is the main focus for many front office executives, commanders are still being linked to other moves for veteran players.

Specifically, the latest report from ESPN’s 49ers insider Nick Wagner suggests that the Commander remain the “most likely landing spot” for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Still, it is not that simple.

“Team and league sources have indicated that the Washington Commanders are the most likely landing spot for Aiyuk when he moves on. Commanders general manager Adam Peters was in San Francisco’s personnel department when it drafted Aiyuk. More importantly, Aiyuk is close friends with Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels from their shared time at Arizona State, and Aiyuk has spoken about his desire to play with Daniels in the past. If anyone can provide some insight on how Aiyuk is doing, possibly Daniels and Peters dined together at league meetings in Phoenix, but it remains to be seen if the Commander would be willing to give up something for Aiyuk instead of waiting for him to be released.

Brandon Aiyuk/Washington Commanders on ESPN

Aiyuk, a former second-team All-Pro pass-catcher, is still under contract in San Francisco. They are working hard with him, hoping a team will table a trade offer for the 28-year-old. Meanwhile, other teams are hoping the 49ers will eventually release Aiyuk, feeling like he’s not worth the current $14.6 million cap hit for 2026 after missing the entire 2025 season due to a knee injury. Additionally, Aiyuk has a very bad contract through 2027, where he has a ridiculous cap hit of $41.4 million.

As for the Commanders, while they may really like the idea of reuniting Aiyuk with his college QB, Jayden Daniels, at Arizona State, they are in no rush to part with draft compensation to do so. It appears that if Washington adds Aiyuk, they would prefer to do so on his own contract terms rather than the terms set by San Francisco, and no longer want to commit.

6 landing spots for star scorer Audie Crooks in transfer portal, including Iowa and UCLA

The women’s college basketball transfer portal got its biggest addition this week when Iowa State star Audie Crooks revealed she is entering college basketball free agency to “explore what it means to re-establish roots in a new land.” Which is code for getting one last big payday in his final year of eligibility.

In her three seasons with the Cyclones, Crooks became one of the best players in program history and emerged as one of the game’s leading scorers. Ranked second in the country with 25.8 points per night in 2025–26.

Crooks is a dominant force, with his bull in china shop style in the paint, and will surely have a number of big-time suitors in the transfer portal. With that in mind, we look at six potential landing spots for Star Jr.

UCLA Bruins

UCLA
Kirby Lee-Images Images

After a big win over Texas on Friday night, UCLA coach Corey Close is on the verge of bringing the women’s basketball program its first national championship. However, after the championship game, their team will either lose or win, as many stars are headed to the WNBA.

Close will need to rebuild quickly to keep the Bruins in tournament contention. Going after Crooks would make a lot of sense to fill the void left by the departure of top star Lauren Bates.

minnesota golden gophers

There is already talk that Minnesota could be the top contender for Audie Crooks in the transfer portal. Coach Don Plitzuwitz has turned the Golden Gophers into a powerhouse in the Big Ten and got the program to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight years this month. Splurging on an Iowa State star in the portal and trying to jump into title contention next season would be a smart risk for the program.

lsu tigers

LSU

LSU’s Kim Mulkey is one of the top coaches in college basketball and has already announced that she plans to enter the transfer portal to improve her roster for next season. Crooks could certainly be a priority to push the Tigers back into Final Four contention in 2026-27. The thought of Audie Crooks and Mylesia Fulville teaming up next season should scare SEC rivals.

iowa hockeys

Coaches Lisa Bluder and Kaitlin Clark transformed the women’s basketball program at Iowa into a glamor team. Jen Jensen has done a good job of maintaining the standards, but they need bigger guns. Especially because they will lose star forward Hannah Stuelke to graduation this spring.

Getting Crooks away from their in-state rivals would be a huge coup for the Hawkeyes program and they would get a new scoring machine in Clark.

After being the best team in basketball all season, Geno Auriemma didn’t handle UConn’s chance at another repeat after losing to South Carolina in the Final Four. He has never been a fan of the transfer portal. However, that bitter loss could propel them to make a big splash this spring. Especially since they will lose several key players after this season, including forward Sarah Williams.

Mark Campbell has turned TCU into an elite program in the Big 12 after back-to-back seasons with 32 or more wins. However, they are set to lose some elite players from the program this year, including star forward Marta Suarez. The university has expressed its desire to continue spending on the transfer portal. Going after the top scorer in the country will help maintain the Horned Frogs’ new standard as a top program in women’s college basketball.

5 Tom Brady landing spots if he sold Raiders stake for NFL return, including Colts

Earlier this week, future Hall of Famer and New England Patriots icon Tom Brady revealed in an interview with CNBC that he had recently seriously considered returning to the field. However, the 15-time Pro Bowler also revealed that the NFL “didn’t like the idea very much.”

It wasn’t because they didn’t want to see the 48-year-old make a spectacular return to the NFL. This was because he wanted to do so and retain his minority ownership in the Las Vegas Raiders. Which is a big no-no. Still, he clearly has a desire to play, and that’s probably why he was the driving force behind creating the Fanatics Flag Football Classic this year.

But for a man who ruined his marriage just to play one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it may not be enough. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio added to that thought on Sunday. He wrote, “Still got the itch. He can still play. He’ll be better right now than some of the players who are going to be starters in 2026.”

“Will the itch go away? Possibly. If not, selling his stake back to Mark Davis could be an easier path out of a situation in which his role doesn’t match the franchise’s expectations.”

On the outside chance that Tom Brady surprisingly gives up his stake in the Raiders for another season in the league, let’s take a look at five teams he would be willing to play for.

las vegas raiders

raiders
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Obviously, the most likely option would be to suit up for the team he was signed to. Las Vegas was rumored to be a landing spot when he left New England several years ago, and he clearly has a bond with majority owner Mark Davis. While the Raiders are no closer to a title contender, Brady would have unheard of power as their starting QB.

This would be a dream scenario for the franchise. They’ll be getting a year from, arguably, the greatest QB ever, and they’re projected to have No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza learn from him for a season.

pittsburgh steelers

steelers
Barry Rieger-Imagen Images

The Pittsburgh Steelers are playoff contenders, but they haven’t had a true Pro Bowl-level QB since the days of Ben Roethlisberger. That’s why they’ve learned about Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers over the last two years. There is a real possibility that Brady could perform worse than the two future Hall of Famers. Or, he could be better, and it could be enough to lead Pittsburgh to the AFC Championship.

indianapolis colts

colts
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Indianapolis Colts have a mixup at the QB1 spot. Daniel Jones was great for most of the 2025 season before he broke a bone in his foot and then tore his Achilles. They are now forced to hope that he can return sooner than expected because they could not find a better player in free agency or the draft. However, Brady could have if he was available.

The Colts looked like a Super Bowl contender before Jones got injured. And Philip Rivers walked off the street at 44 and looked good at times because of the weapons he had. At 48 years old, Brady can help Indy reach the playoffs and advance.

carolina panthers

panthers
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

The Carolina Panthers also have a very tough situation at the QB1 spot as this is a make or break year for former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. However, if Tom Brady were available, Carolina would take advantage of the opportunity and make every impact he can if it helps them win some games in the playoffs next year.

atlanta falcons

Falcon
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Despite having a messy QB situation in 2025, the Atlanta Falcons are still 8-9. Same record as the division champion Panthers. With weapons like Bijan Robinson and Drake London, adding Brady to the mix could be enough to get them to 10 wins and homefield in a playoff game. Plus, whenever Michael Penix Jr. returns, he can also learn a thing or two by sitting down with the NFL legend.

‘Most likely’ landing spot revealed

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown has been in trade rumors for several weeks, and the New England Patriots are in hot pursuit. Despite the signing of wide receiver Romeo Doubs, the Patriots are still interested in acquiring Brown from Philadelphia. Other teams like the Los Angeles Rams have also been linked.

A trade for the Browns is unlikely to happen after June 1 due to financial reasons, but talks could heat up as the 2026 NFL Draft approaches. In fact, the most likely place for Brown to land has been revealed.

As ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports on UNSPORTSMANLIKE, the Patriots are the “most likely” destination for Brown amid trade rumors. Despite rumors that there is a “gentlemen’s agreement” between New England and Philadelphia, both organizations have no pending deal for Brown at this time.

Brown has several ties to the Patriots, including former Tennessee Titans teammates and head coach Mike Vrabel. New England was also the star wide receiver’s favorite team growing up. All signs point to the Patriots being Brown’s team, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

Potential trade package from AJ Brown to the New England Patriots

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown

The Patriots and Eagles have been in talks over a potential trade for Brown since last month, but nothing has come to fruition yet. Despite the 2026 NFL Draft coming up in about a month, it’s likely the two sides will continue trade talks in June. If so, this may help each party finalize a deal.

If New England wants to make a deal for Brown this offseason, they must offer a 2027 first-round pick and a 2027 third-round pick. Philadelphia is seeking a first-round pick and a second-round pick, but the Jaylen Waddle to Denver Broncos trade would have set the market for each organization.

There is a possibility that New England offers a 2028 draft pick instead of a 2027 pick, but it depends on what the Eagles want in return for their star wide receiver. It’s clear that the Patriots are the most realistic landing spot for Brown, and both sides need to reach a middle ground to complete a deal.

The 2027 NFL Draft is expected to be very strong, so New England may be more incentivized to include a 2028 draft pick instead of two 2027 picks. Trade between the two sides has to be completed, but the possibility of negotiations breaking down is also realistic.

New England and Philadelphia are in no rush to complete a trade for the Browns, and talks could intensify as June 1 approaches. For now, both sides are in a waiting game, and an offer for one of the NFL’s best wide receivers may not come until the summer.

Landing spots for 9 drivers

NASCAR’s silly season in 2025 was largely non-existent, with the only significant move being Daniel Suarez joining Spire Motorsports and Trackhouse Racing, replacing him with Connor Zylisch. Things are going to be very different this year, with some big names in the Cup Series having their deals expiring.

Let’s take a look at our early NASCAR silly season predictions with some guesses as to where some of the top free-agent drivers and up-and-comers will land next season.

Tyler Reddick: No. 45 car for 23XI Racing

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Scott Kinser-Imagen Images

Could Hendrick Motorsports try to make things interesting with Tyler Reddick as a possible option for the No. 48 car? Maybe, but that would require Hendricks to overtake 23XI Racing, and Michael Jordan is not allowing that to happen. Reddick has already secured the 2024 regular season title for the 23XI, and he set the team’s single-season wins record before the calendar even turned to April. He’s in blank check territory, and given Jordan’s reputation for winning at all costs, there’s no way anyone else could drive the No. 45.

Corey Heim: No. 35 car for 23XI Racing

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Corey Haim proved in 2025 that he already belongs in the Cup Series full-time. However, the young driver is sticking to the plan set out for him by 23XI Racing. This included historic dominance of the Truck Series last season, and he is now splitting time between the Truck, Cup and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2026. Patience will finally be rewarded this offseason. Heim will replace Riley Herbst in the No. 35 car, giving 23XI Racing a three-man team of Reddick, Heim and Bubba Wallace that will give them a chance to form a new “Big Three” of teams in NASCAR.

Riley Herbst: Legacy Motor Club

NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Scott Kinser-Imagen Images

After a brutal first season in the Cup Series with 23XI Racing, Riley Herbst has shown signs of progress in 2026. He recorded an eighth-place finish in the Daytona 500 and, in the same race, proved he could be a great teammate by helping Tyler Reddick to victory. He finished 23rd at COTA and 18th at Phoenix, and had a real chance of breaking into the top-20 at Darlington, before being spun by Connor Zylisch on the final stage, with car damage dropping him back into the field. Herbst is performing well enough to at least get another full-time ride next season, and given the financial resources he brings to the table, he is a perfect fit for Legacy Motor Club next season as it brings in a third car.

Alex Bowman: a few steps away from racing

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Scott Kinser-Imagen Images

Medical issues have been an unfortunate theme of Alex Bowman’s NASCAR career. An injury kept him out of five races in 2022, and the following year, a broken back kept him out of three races. Unfortunately, he will now miss at least five races in 2026 due to dizziness. This is the last thing to happen in a contract year with Hendrick Motorsports, but it’s been one thing after another for him over the past five years. We think Bowman will miss a Cup Series ride and will take the 2027 season off. Maybe he should get a role working as a NASCAR analyst for Amazon Prime Video’s coverage and see how he feels after that.

RELATED: Identifying potential Alex Bowman replacement for Hendrick Motorsports in 2027

Daniel Suarez: No. 7 car for Spire Motorsports

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Scott Kinser-Imagen Images

After how ugly things ended at Trackhouse Racing, the 2026 campaign with Spire Motorsports felt like a now-or-never situation for Daniel Suarez’s Cup Series career. Not only is he performing well, but the driver of the No. 7 car is outpacing all of his former teammates, including Ross Chastain. Perhaps this says more about Spire versus Trackhouse, but what has become clear this spring is that Suarez is still more than capable in the Cup Series behind the wheel of a solid car and a supportive team. He brings a great deal of stability to the table, is well liked, and is backed by great sponsors. It’s checking enough boxes that we can’t move Spier out of the No. 7 spot, even if it means Suarez will potentially have to take a one-year deal after this season.

Kyle Busch: No. 71 car for Spire Motorsports

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Gary A. Vasquez-Imagen Images

As his Cup Series win streak reaches three points, one thing is clear: Kyle Busch probably won’t be back with Richard Childress Racing in 2027. The future Hall of Famer is fed up with the car he’s been provided by RCR, and the team’s sentiment – at least based on what’s heard on the radio – reflects a similar sentiment toward the driver. Although we do not expect Busch to replace Suarez in the No. 7 car, Spire may decide to replace Michael McDowell for Busch. McDowell, who will turn 42 in December, will have to find a smaller team to ensure a full-time ride in the Cup Series next season.

Jesse Love: No. 8 car for Richard Childress Racing

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Jesse Love, one of the top prospects in NASCAR, is already a development driver for Richard Childress Racing and he’s getting some opportunities to prove himself in the Cup Series this season. Given recent reports that the Legacy Motor Club doesn’t want to be a short-term spot for another team’s emerging player to be developed for just a year before leaving, we think RCR will let Love join him next season. He will replace Busch in the No. 8 car, giving the team a 22-year-old driver who is perhaps more capable of guiding during races and with whom any early success will be seen as a positive step towards an even brighter future.

Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski: RFK Racing

Early NASCAR Foolish Season Predictions
Gary A. Vasquez-Imagen Images

There’s an old saying in sports that you can’t replace the boss. So, even if he wasn’t performing consistently, it’s hard to imagine any scenario where co-owner Brad Keselowski gives up his seat in the No. 6 car for RFK Racing. As far as Chris Buescher is concerned, although he doesn’t have an ownership stake in the team, the No. 17 team has proven to be a perfect fit for him, and this partnership is certainly working out for both parties. We believe the three-car team of Buescher, Keselowski and Ryan Preece will stay together at RFK next year.

5 Tyreek Hill landing spots in NFL free agency, including a Chiefs reunion

Tyreek Hill is looking for a new team in 2026. And when it’s all said and done, “Cheetah” is probably punching its ticket to Canton. But that’s down the road; Right now, he’s one of the biggest names on the free agent market.

Sure, he’s coming off a rookie year dealing with injuries and his off-field noise is on the rise, but don’t let it all go to waste, Hill can still fly. He was poised for another 1,100+ yard season with the Miami Dolphins before suffering a season-ending injury last year.

So the question now is, who is trying to sign the eight-time Pro Bowler? Let’s break down five potential landing spots for Tyreek Hill, including a spicy reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs.

new England Patriots

new England Patriots
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Stefon Diggs worked his way up as the New England Patriots’ WR1, but New England cut him loose to clear the cap and reload. And with more than $42 million to play for, they have the ammo to make a real effort toward another Super Bowl run. They brought in Romeo Dobbs, but let’s be honest – he’s a solid WR2/WR3 type of guy, not a guy who is taking over games week in and week out.

This is where Tyreek Hill flips the script. Is he a lock-in at WR1 at this level? Probably not. But in terms of ceiling? No one comes close in that room. Hill brings game-breaking speed, playoff pedigree and the kind of juice that instantly elevates an entire offense. For a team looking to quickly retool, it’s worth taking a swing.

kansas city chiefs

kansas city chiefs
Denny Medley-Images Images

At first glance, the Kansas City Chiefs’ WR room doesn’t look like a serious issue, but digging a little deeper reveals it’s not exactly loaded. The Chiefs are up against the cap and have just over $10 million on hand before any restructuring or cuts. But if there’s one place that really knows how to unlock extreme Cheetah — and keep chaos to a minimum — it’s Kansas City.

A reunion would make an impact on multiple levels: instant WR1 upgrade, proven chemistry, and a legitimate offensive reset for a team that is searching for that true deep threat again. If the Chiefs want to take another swing at a familiar superstar who is still in his prime window, this move seems perfect.

Baltimore Ravens

nfl
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

Last season was a tough one for the Baltimore Ravens’ WR room. Outside of Ze Flower, there wasn’t much juice. Sure, Lamar Jackson missing time played a role, but even when he was there, the lack of perimeter firepower was glaring. That’s not going to cut it for a contender.

Now, Baltimore has a track record of throwing tires on veteran receivers—DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr., DeSean Jackson and Dez Bryant. But here’s the difference: Tyreek Hill, even though he’s having a shortened year due to injury, still seems to have more gas left in his tank than he did when he signed. If the Ravens want to add legitimate explosiveness without breaking the bank, this sounds like a classic low-risk, high-reward swing.

tennessee titans

tennessee titans
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

Tyreek Hill, now 32, is still one of the league’s premier cap lifters, but the big question is the knee. If he has fully recovered from last year’s early-season injury, this is a move that could completely unlock the Tennessee Titans’ vertical game overnight.

Speed, explosiveness, game breaking ability? It is still there. The key is to structure a smart, team-friendly deal full of incentives. For Titans, it’s really about identity. Do they keep building young and playing the roster at a slower pace, or do they land a proven vet who could turn the game right now? If they’re serious about turning things around in the AFC South, betting on Hill’s turnaround could be the spark they need.

los angeles chargers

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Los Angeles Chargers offense lacks a true field-tilter. Drop Tyreek Hill in that unit, and the problem will be solved overnight. The defense will have no choice but to sit in the two high circles, and that’s music to Justin Herbert’s ears. This opens up the entire game, allows the offense to breathe, and fully highlights the talent of Herbert’s arm. Hill is built for motion-heavy looks, quick hitters and YAC-driven concepts — and guess what? He’s already baked into the Chargers system. It’s just like plug-and-play.

Top 5 landing spots for Russell Wilson as a bridge QB for the 2026 NFL season

To say the least, Russell Wilson’s NFL journey has been very exciting. From being a $40 million franchise QB in Seattle to sitting on the bench in Denver and then barely seeing the field in Pittsburgh, the second half of his career has been anything but smooth.

Coming into this offseason, Wilson probably wasn’t at the top of many teams’ wish lists. Still, he’s the kind of veteran quarterback who can come off the bench and keep the offense humming if the team suddenly needs a steady hand under center.

And while Wilson may be one of the better options left in the thin QB market, one thing is clear – he won’t be a good fit for Kansas City. At the moment, its next landing spot is still up in the air.

So with the quarterback carousel still spinning, here are five dream landing spots for former Super Bowl champions.

green Bay Packers

green Bay Packers
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

As the 2026 NFL offseason begins, the Green Bay Packers have been pretty quiet in terms of transactions. Other than bringing in former Javon Hargrave — who previously played for the Minnesota Vikings — Green Bay hasn’t made any spectacular moves yet. That said, GM Brian Gutekunst still has some boxes to check off before the season starts. One of the biggest? Locking up a reliable QB2 behind franchise quarterback Jordan Love, especially now that Malik Willis is no longer in the picture.

This is where Wilson can come into play.

Honestly, fit means a lot to both parties. Green Bay won’t have to commit to anything long-term — just a one-year veteran deal to stabilize the quarterback room. And Wilson will land with a playoff-caliber organization that values veteran leadership. Wilson’s 2025 campaign with the New York Giants wasn’t exactly a headline-grabbing one, but he still showed highlights. In six games, he threw for 831 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions, completed 58% of his passes, and added 106 rushing yards.

Sure, Wilson may not be the most attractive QB2 option. But if the Packers are looking for a battle-tested veteran who can step up and keep the offense going when needed, he checks that box. At the end of the day, Wilson has a long track record in this league and knows how to win football games. And when it comes to supporting Love, Gutekunst and the Packers could certainly fare worse.

dallas cowboys

dallas cowboys
Kevin Jairaj Images

Dak Prescott is still firmly locked in as the QB1 for the Dallas Cowboys, but the depth chart behind him is very thin. Right now, Dallas is working with Prescott and Joe Milton III, and most contenders prefer to have a veteran vet waiting in case the starter goes down.

This is where Wilson could enter the conversation.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has made it clear that the team wants to push its chips to the middle of the table and chase a Super Bowl, rather than wait for long-term development. Wilson fits that win-now mentality. If Prescott misses time, Wilson is the kind of veteran who can step in, add offense and keep the playoff train on track. After all, he’s a Super Bowl-winning QB who has plenty of big-game reps.

And like the situation in Green Bay, Wilson probably isn’t making a big deal at this stage of his career. A one-year ‘proven’ deal with a contender would make a lot of sense.

Hunt? Dallas’ cap situation. The Cowboys are already up against the salary cap, which means the front office will have to pull off some serious cap gymnastics to get Wilson to sign the job — even on a short-term deal.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Kyler Murray is still the clear QB1 for the Arizona Cardinals, but the depth chart behind him has been a bit shaky the past few seasons. Bringing in Wilson would immediately give Arizona a high-end, experienced QB2 who can step up and provide offense should Murray ever miss time. Wilson has over a decade of starting experience and plenty of playoff leverage, which is an insurance policy that most teams would prefer to have sitting on the sidelines.

From a planning standpoint, the Fit isn’t too crazy. Under head coach Jonathan Gannon and offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, Arizona’s offense relies on mobility, play-action and off-schedule playmaking – all areas where Wilson has traditionally thrived. The Cardinals also have a young roster that is still finding its identity, and that’s where Wilson’s presence could really be beneficial. A veteran QB like him can mentor young offensive players, stabilize the quarterback room, and bring playoff experience to a developing team.

Wilson has also built a reputation for helping younger teammates step up — just ask DK Metcalf, who blossomed during Wilson’s years in Seattle. Veteran quarterbacks often become locker-room tone setters for teams undergoing a rebuild or makeover. And unlike many QB-needy franchises, Arizona actually entered the 2026 offseason with solid cap flexibility after shedding several veteran contracts during their rebuild. That means the Cardinals could realistically make a veteran deal without restructuring half the roster, especially if Wilson is open to a modest one-year contract.

At this point in his career, Wilson may simply be looking for a stable situation where he’ll get a real chance to see the field if needed — and Arizona could quietly offer exactly that.

Seattle Seahawks

Jackson Smith-Njigba
Kirby Lee-Images Images

It would be a storybook ending if Wilson ended up back with the Seattle Seahawks — the same place where he spent a decade cooking up and helping lead the franchise to its only Super Bowl title.

A reunion would bring back a quarterback who already knows the expectations of the fanbase, the culture inside the building and the pressure that comes with playing in Seattle. There will be no learning curve – just a familiar face in a familiar locker room. Beyond the inevitable cap-space gymnastics, there’s also an interesting story if this actually happened. Wilson can eventually guide Sam Darnold like he once helped guide DK Metcalf early in his career.

turn? Back in Seattle, Wilson was the franchise QB, and Metcalf was the young rising star. If he returned now, the roles would be reversed – Wilson would likely be the veteran QB2, supporting Darnold while providing the kind of experience that only a Super Bowl-winning quarterback can provide.

Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams
Gary A. Vasquez-Imagen Images

The Los Angeles Rams’ offense still revolves around Matthew Stafford, who will turn 38 during the 2026 season. With Stafford’s age and injury history, it wouldn’t be shocking if the Rams wanted to add some premium insurance at QB2. This is where Wilson can make a lot of sense.

If Stafford were to miss time, Wilson would immediately become one of the most experienced backup quarterbacks in the league – a veteran who can step in and keep the offense going without everything breaking down.

And make no mistake, the Rams are back in the playoff race. For contenders, having a reliable QB2 could be the difference between staying in the postseason race or seeing the season end after an injury.

Additionally, Wilson will be entering an offense loaded with talent. Throwing to playmakers like Puka Nakua and Cooper Kupp, while sharing the locker room with defensive cornerstone Aaron Donald, is not a bad situation for any quarterback.

Financially, Ram can also make it work. A short-term, one-year veteran deal for Wilson would be manageable under their cap and give Los Angeles top-tier insurance behind Stafford without the long-term money.

5 NFL players who need a change of scenery in 2026, potential landing spots

Around the National Football League, you can find examples of players who did not find success with their first team, but who thrived and progressed after a change in landscape. Sam Darnold is the latest example of this, and there have been many such examples in recent years.

Today, we’re highlighting some NFL players who would benefit greatly from a change of scenery and showcasing the potential landing spots for each player.

Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals

Joe Rondon/The Republic/USA TODAY Network via Imagen Images

Selected with the 66th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, running back Trey Benson has been an effective ball-carrier (4.9 yards per carry) when healthy. Unfortunately for the Arizona Cardinals, injuries limited him to only 17 games over two seasons and he never returned in 2025 after suffering a meniscus injury in Week 4. Arizona brought back James Conner and Bam Knight in addition to the signing of Tyler Allger, which shows that Benson’s days with this team are over and the new coaching staff is not counting on him.

  • Possible landing location: Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons

Unfortunately for tight end Theo Johnson Jr., the new Giants coaching staff doesn’t seem interested in giving him much of a chance to improve in 2025. A former fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-6 tight end is coming off a sophomore year, where he put up 528 receiving yards with five touchdowns and averaged 11.7 yards per reception. However, Harbaugh added Isaiah from Baltimore, and veteran Chris Manhertz will continue to be used as a blocker in two-tight-end sets. Johnson needs a fresh start, and his contract—with a cap hit of $1.4 million in each of the next two seasons—makes him even more attractive to other teams.

Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills

nfl player
Tina McIntyre-Yee/Rochester Democrat and Chronicle/USA TODAY Network via images

Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady has publicly endorsed wide receiver Keon Coleman, and the club is ready to give him a third chance. However, it is also fair to assume that Buffalo will invest early capital in the 2026 NFL Draft on a wide receiver, especially after the recent acquisition of receiver DJ Moore. Coleman will have to look at the writing on the wall, a reality where he is viewed as the fifth or sixth best target in the passing game. The former 33rd overall pick will only turn 23 in May, and while maturity and commitment to football have been issues, being traded could be the wake up call that gets his career back on track. A change of scenery is in Coleman’s best interest, and one would hope Buffalo would be able to make that happen.

Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

It’s safe to say that the Kansas City Chiefs’ proverbial roll of the dice on edge rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah with the 31st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft hasn’t paid off. Since entering the league, the 6-foot-4 defender has recorded only 14 QB hits and 3 sacks in 550 defensive snaps played in 34 games. He also missed last season due to a hamstring injury, which led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve in August. He may be out of the NFL within the next two years, but there are plenty of teams that are so thin on the edge that a second chance could help him find a role that can prolong his career.

Anthony Richardson, QB, Indianapolis Colts

nfl player
Grace Smith-USA TODAY Network via Imagine Images

Anthony Richardson has been bad during his tenure as the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, but it’s also clear how the organization set him up to fail. The franchise is now allowing him to find a new home and given the physical tools he brings to the table, he should have no shortage of suitors. Any team that acquires Richardson would effectively have to treat him as a one-year rental, with his fifth-year option ($20 million plus guaranteed) untouched. That said, the right head coach could keep him as a backup option this season and potentially even use him in certain situations. Acquiring him won’t cost more than a Day 3 pick and there’s definitely upside here. The focus should be on finding a team where he can sit for most of the season and learn.

Landing spots for the top 5 NFL free agents on defense

Many of the top NFL free agents have been off the board this offseason, with the remaining starters either on the wrong side of 30 or still available due to team concerns. However, there are still plenty of options in NFL free agency for clubs looking for a rotational piece or a solid start to the upcoming season.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at our latest round of NFL free agency predictions focusing on the landing spots for the remaining top defensive players.

AJ Epenesa, edge rusher: Detroit Lions

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Mark Konezny-Imagen Images

A former second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, AJ Epenesa is now entering his 28-year-old season and has proven to be a quality rotational edge defender. He played 434 defensive snaps for the Buffalo Bills last season, recording 2.5 sacks with 9 quarterback hits. The strength he brings at 6-foot-6 could prove useful to the Detroit Lions, who are still in the market for pass-rushing help. Epenesa may see a higher percentage of snaps early in the season opposite Aiden Hutchinson, while an edge rusher selected on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft is slowly brought along and eventually plays a higher percentage of snaps for Detroit when the time is right.

Cameron Jordan, edge rusher: Chicago Bears

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

It would certainly seem strange to see Cameron Jordan not playing for the New Orleans Saints in 2026, but it seems certain to happen. Heading into his age-37 season, Jordan is certainly nowhere near the caliber of defensive disruptor he used to be, and his snaps need to be limited to maintain his effectiveness. However, it’s still worth keeping in mind that he recorded 10.5 sacks and 22 pressures last season. What matters most is a reunion with his longtime defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, who will know how to get the most out of him in a rotational role. Plus, it gives the Chicago Bears a little more pass-rushing depth on the defensive line and gives Jordan a chance to finish his career with a Super Bowl contender.

Bobby Wagner, linebacker: Buffalo Bills

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Kirby Lee-Images Images

Linebacker Bobby Wagner, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection, is still just two seasons away from earning second-team All-Pro honors. He also had 8 tackles for loss and 79 solo tackles last season, although he has proven to be a liability in coverage. There may be an opportunity here for Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott. Buffalo could take advantage of Wagner’s tendencies as a run defender, as he has proven to be one of the best off-ball linebackers in football against the run. Additionally, he could be an excellent mentor for any young linebackers added to the team this year.

Rasoul Douglas, cornerback: Kansas City Chiefs

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Julian Leche via Guadalupe/NorthJersey.com/USA TODAY Network Images

The Kansas City Chiefs cornerback room is undergoing a massive overhaul this offseason. As much as we trust the front office and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo at this position, depth and proven players don’t hurt. Rasoul Douglas really stood out with the Miami Dolphins last season, allowing only a 54.5 percent completion rate and 73.0 passer rating when targeted in coverage. With how thin Kansas City is at cornerback now, it could be beneficial to keep at least one viable starter as there is going to be a lot of inexperience in that room this fall.

Joey Bosa, edge rusher: San Francisco 49ers

NFL Free Agency Predictions, Top NFL Free Agents
Tina McIntyre-Yee/Democrat & Chronicle/via USA TODAY Network Images

It always felt like Nick Bosa would eventually be teammates with his brother, Joey Bosa, rather than when. Now the time seems absolutely right. The San Francisco 49ers need more pass-rushing depth next season with Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams recovering from season-ending injuries. Joey Bosa has his durability concerns, but he played in 15 games in Buffalo last season and had 16 QB hits with 5 sacks. Bringing him in would make the Knicks happy and would improve San Francisco’s pass-rushing depth; It’s a win-win.

5 Deebo Samuel landing spots in NFL free agency, including a 49ers reunion

NFL front offices have been at it all week as the new league year officially kicked off on Wednesday, awarding a staggering $5.83 billion in contracts, with nearly $2.3 billion agreed to in the first eight hours of negotiations. It’s safe to say the general manager came out swinging.

The market has cooled off a bit since the initial buzz, but many influential players are still sitting on the board waiting for their next snap. One of the biggest names still looking for a new home is Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr.

Samuel stepped in as Washington’s top target last season while Terry McLaurin battled injuries, making 72 catches for 727 yards and five touchdowns. He also gained 75 rushing yards and another score, although that rushing total marked a career low in seasons where he played at least eight games.

Nevertheless, Deebo is still one of the league’s most versatile offensive weapons – a true “wide back” who can line up anywhere and stress the defense in a variety of ways. So where might he land next? Here are the five teams that make the most sense for Samuel in free agency.

denver broncos

travis kelsey
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

The Denver Broncos have been one of the quietest teams so far on the free agency wire. In fact, they are the only NFL team that did not sign any outside free agents during Week 1, which has certainly raised some eyebrows around the league. But maybe Sean Payton is waiting to get his shot.

For years, people around the NFL have tried to connect Deebo Samuel to Payton’s offense. Now, for the first time, that pairing is actually possible. Payton has long talked about wanting a weapon that can do it all, that can line up anywhere, move through formation and handle pressure on defenses on every single snap. Deebo’s name may also be mentioned in that description.

san francisco 49ers

san francisco 49ers
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Who says you can’t run it back? A reunion with the San Francisco 49ers suddenly doesn’t seem so crazy. San Francisco has some serious question marks in the wide receiver room heading into the 2026 season. Brandon Aiyuk’s time with the team appears to be over, Javon Jennings is testing free agency, and Ricky Pearsall still hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

On top of that, the offense could be without George Kittle, who is dealing with an Achilles injury that could sideline him for a large portion of the 2026 campaign. That leaves a lot of firepower for Kyle Shanahan’s offense. A return to the Gulf would make a lot of sense. Samuel already knows Shanahan’s system inside and out, and he has built a strong chemistry with Brock Purdy from their previous stints in San Francisco.

Baltimore Ravens

nfl
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

The Baltimore Ravens could reload their pass-catching group this offseason. If that happens, Baltimore will need another dynamic weapon in the passing game – and Samuel fits the bill perfectly. Samuel would give the Ravens a versatile chess piece who can line up in the slot, outside, or even take snaps out of the backfield.

While Zay Flowers will still lead the receiving corps, Samuel could quickly take on a major role and become one of Lamar Jackson’s favorite playmakers. And honestly, Deebo feels just like a raven. His bruising, physical style – whether he’s breaking tackles as a receiver or lowering his shoulder on designed runs – fits perfectly into Baltimore’s smash-mouth identity.

new England Patriots

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at New England Patriots
eric kanha-imagen images

The New England Patriots are in need of a reliable wide receiver, making Samuel an obvious target if they want to add some firepower. Samuel, like Stefon Diggs, would slide well as a do-everything weapon in the Patriots’ offense, and would be a perfect fit for Drake Mays. Imagine the situation if New England took out Deebo Samuel and Romeo Doubs on the same field.

kansas city chiefs

kansas city chiefs
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Kansas City Chiefs have needs in the passing game. Sure, they still have Travis Kelce, but Patrick Mahomes could definitely use another dynamic weapon on the outside. This is where Samuel comes in. Kansas City has quietly emerged as an interesting landing spot for the veteran playwright. Samuel’s ability to line up in the slot or even take handoffs out of the backfield seems tailor-made for Andy Reid’s playbook. Reed likes versatile weapons he can move around formations, and Samuel will give the Chiefs a more gadget-style threat that can turn short touches into pieces.

Projecting landing spots for the top remaining NFL free agents on offense

It’s been an eventful 2026 NFL offseason so far, and we’re still only a few weeks away from making some of the biggest moves. Many of the top NFL free agents are now off the board, but there are still some impactful starters and key contributors who could sign with clubs in the next few days.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at our NFL free agency predictions for the top offensive players heading into the weekend. We will make a defensive list on Saturday.

Kirk Cousins, quarterback: Las Vegas Raiders

nfl free agency predictions
Dell Janine-Imagen Images

One of the most common NFL comparisons for quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who will be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, is Kirk Cousins. While this may not sound as appealing, let’s remember that Cousins has a career 96.8 passer rating and is likely to reach 45,000 career passing yards with 300 passing touchdowns in 2026. That also fits the Las Vegas look. The Raiders want an experienced quarterback who can mentor Mendoza during his rookie season and serve as the starting quarterback temporarily. Cousins could start the first few games while Mendoza gets a better feel for Clint Kubiak’s playbook and adjusts to playing under center, and then take over in October.

Everything the Pittsburgh Steelers have said publicly, combined with reports about the front office’s thinking, points to one thing: Aaron Rodgers is coming back for the 2026 NFL season. Even the Michael Pittman Jr. trade, acquiring a receiver who excels at creating quick separation and getting open early, hints at a plan to help a future Hall of Famer at quarterback. We don’t think Rodgers will sign until around June, but we strongly believe he will be the Steelers’ starting quarterback in 2026.

Stefon Diggs, wide receiver: Baltimore Ravens

nfl free agency predictions
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The off-field concerns surrounding Stefon Diggs have a lot to do with how quiet his market is in NFL free agency. That said, he still put up 1,013 receiving yards on 85 receptions in his first full season last season after suffering an ACL tear. It will be a bit of a gamble for first-year head coach Jesse Minter, but the Baltimore Ravens have proven they are willing to take some non-medical risks. Diggs could be a complementary receiving threat to pair with Zay Flowers, giving Lamar Jackson a better receiving corps in his first year with new play-caller Declan Doyle.

Jaouan Jennings, wide receiver: Tennessee Titans

nfl free agency predictions 2026
Sergio Estrada-Imagen Images

In previous NFL free agency predictions, we have seen Juwan Jennings landing with the Seattle Seahawks or Washington Commanders. However, Seattle has re-signed Rashid Shahid and Commanders general manager Adam Peters is focusing more on Brandon Aiyuk after he was released. This makes the Tennessee Titans the best fit for Jennings. The 6-foot-3 wideout offers a skill set that’s very different from free-agent signing Wan’Dale Robinson, as he can be a red-zone weapon whose size also makes him an effective target on third downs. The move will be about providing quarterback Cam Ward with a variety of pass-catching options in Brian Daboll’s offense. Plus, if Tennessee drafts Jeremiah Love, Jennings is a willing blocker.

Rasheed Walker, offensive tackle: Cleveland Browns

nfl free agency predictions 2026
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The Cleveland Browns have addressed right tackle (Tytus Howard), center (Elgton Jenkins) and guard (Zion Johnson and Teven Jenkins) this offseason. That still leaves a glaring hole at left tackle. Luckily for Cleveland, there isn’t much left on the market for Rasheed Walker. He has been the best offensive tackle available since the beginning of NFL free agency, but his contract demands remain an issue. We think he’ll sign a one-year deal worth over $20 million to play left tackle for Cleveland. This fills a need for the Browns, giving them flexibility heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, while also allowing Walker to test the market again next season.

David Njoku, tight end: Philadelphia Eagles

nfl free agency predictions
Scott Galvin-Imagen Images

The Philadelphia Eagles gave themselves a little more time to decide on Dallas Goedert’s future with the club, but parting still appears to be the most likely outcome. What became clear last season was that this offense needs more help at the last minute, so it should come through both the NFL Draft and free agency. After spending nine years in Cleveland, Njoku likely wants to play for a Super Bowl contender with a quarterback he trusts to get him the football. With a defense focused on stopping Saquon Barkley, Devonta Smith and AJ Brown, as well as the athleticism of Jalen Hurts, Njoku could get plenty of open looks in Philadelphia.

8 free agent landing spots, including the Chargers

Despite an apparent career decline at age 37, future Hall of Famer and Kansas City Chiefs legend Travis Kelce will return for his 14th NFL season in 2026. The Athletic first broke the news on Sunday night. However, they also report that the free agent tight end is not guaranteed to return to the only franchise he has ever played for.

“It is not certain whether the team he plays for will be the head of the team. Kelce’s representatives are expected to speak to multiple teams,” the outlet reports.

With the 11-time Pro Bowler set to return next season, let’s take a look at seven teams he could land with in NFL free agency this month.

houston texans

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Houston Texans have a Super Bowl-caliber defense. However, their offense has held them back the past few seasons. They have a good quarterback in CJ Stroud, but they need more weapons. With $33 million in available cap space this offseason, according to Over the Cap, Kelce is a player who can make an impact while still staying in his price range. Don’t be surprised if Houston is a contender for a great finish to the month.

Seattle Seahawks

travis kelsey
Kirby Lee-Images Images

If Kelce is going to play in 2026, you can bet his goal will be to join a team with a legitimate shot at winning a championship next season. Well, the Seattle Seahawks are sure to be in contention again after winning their latest Super Bowl title last month.

Additionally, they have a good chunk of cap space this offseason and a clear need for more meaningful pass-game weapons to help take the load off star receiver Jackson Smith-Njigba.

los angeles chargers

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

The Los Angeles Chargers have won 11 games and will have more than $90 million in cap space either way this offseason. In 2025, LA did not have a single receiver over 1,000 receiving yards. Kelce is unlikely to do it for them, but he will certainly draw attention and help a player like Ladd McConkey have an even better year in 2026.

The idea of Kelce playing for the Bolts and taking passes from Justin Herbert would be a stab in the back for Chiefs fans, but we’ve seen franchise veterans play for the enemy before. The best example is Green Bay Packers icon Brett Favre who suited up for the hated Minnesota Vikings his last two seasons.

kansas city chiefs

travis kelsey
Denny Medley-Images Images

Speaking of the Chiefs, it’s still very possible that Travis Kelce returns to Kansas City next season. He has freed up a good amount of cap space over the past few weeks and he would certainly command a discounted rate again to return for his final season.

If this is a transition season for the Chiefs as Patrick Mahomes returns from a torn ACL, Kelce being on a retirement tour could certainly lead to another disappointing year for KC.

New York Giants

travis kelsey
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

Kelce will aim to be a contender in 2026. However, playing in New York and playing for a franchise like the New York Giants is always a draw for star players. Big Blue’s poor performance over the last three seasons should cause the future Hall of Famer to lose interest. However, there is a belief that the Giants could be much better in 2026 with new head coach John Harbaugh.

Young QB Jackson Darts needs more reliable weapons, and Kelce will definitely help. Offering his NFL swan song on New York’s big stage might have some appeal for the tight end if he doesn’t like the other offers he receives.

denver broncos

travis kelsey
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

The Chargers may not be the only major foe that could come into play for Travis Kelce this offseason. If Bo Knicks had suited up in the AFC Championship Game, many NFL analysts believe the Denver Broncos would have defeated the New England Patriots. They therefore meet the criteria of being a serious title contender for next season.

Additionally, Evan Engram was a huge disappointment for Denver last season. If they sign Kelce, they could consider moving him, or go with an interesting and dangerous two-TE set in 2026.

Washington Commanders

travis kelsey
Jeffrey Baker-Imagen Images

One team hoping for a deep playoff run and salary cap space this offseason is the Washington Commanders. Additionally, tight end is expected to be a position they look to upgrade in the coming weeks.

After reaching the NFC Championship two seasons ago, fans saw how good Washington and star QB Jaden Daniels could be. Kelce could be one of the key offseason signings that gets the Commanders back into playoff contention this offseason.

retirement

travis kelsey
Kiyoshi Mio-imagen images

It’s very possible that Kelce hits free agency and doesn’t love the options or offers he receives. He has been retired for the past few seasons, and does not need to keep playing as his acting career is growing rapidly and his new heights Podcasts are extremely popular. It wouldn’t be shocking if Kelce takes a look at the free agent market and decides retirement is a better option.

5 Best Stefon Diggs Landing Spots After Patriots Release

When Stefon Diggs signed with the New England Patriots last season, it came as a shock. Especially because they signed the then-31-year-old player to a three-year, $65 million contract despite coming back from an ACL injury.

However, the deal proved to be a fair compromise for both parties. The Patriots not only reached the playoffs, but also reached the Super Bowl with his help. Although Diggs faces a $26.5 million cap hit for 2026, his return to New England for another season wasn’t always possible at that rate.

On Wednesday, the Patriots revealed they are set to release Diggs at the start of the new league year next week. The one-time All-Pro is coming off a year where he recorded his seventh 1,000-yard season and will certainly face a strong market again.

Below, we evaluate some of the strongest landing spots for the four-time Pro Bowl receiver.

The 49ers are moving on from Brandon Aiyuk. Jauan Jennings is also set for free agency. In the meantime, he could be an ideal fit for Diggs, who has proven capable of making plays all over the field from multiple receiver spots. It will be a dream for Kyle Shanahan to plan plays as George Kittle turns 30.

los angeles chargers

Veteran receiver Keenan Allen is a free agent again. While the Chargers could bring him back after finishing second on the team in receiving yards, LA has a chance to upgrade at the position by signing Diggs. Diggs is a year younger, and has been more productive recently despite recovering from a serious injury. We can see Diggs appreciating the opportunity to play for a contender in such beautiful weather.

Washington Commanders

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Washington Commanders

Diggs grew up in Maryland and played college ball there. With the Commanders boasting some of the most salary cap space in the NFL, it’s possible they’ll also pursue Stephon’s brother, Trayvon, to play cornerback. A homecoming for the Diggs brothers could be exactly what the siblings are planning this offseason.

kansas city chiefs

There have been rumors that Diggs has been trying to hook up with Patrick Mahomes for several seasons. That wasn’t the case last year when he was coming off a torn ACL. Still, with the Chiefs looking for another playmaker this offseason, we can’t help but wonder if he’ll end up in Kansas City this time.

The Bills have made a coaching change. Now that they have an offensive-minded leader, we wonder if Diggs will see the Bills as a more team-friendly landing spot. Plus, he may be looking for a chance to rekindle his strong relationship with reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen. Both athletes performing with a chip on their shoulders could lead to a magical season.

St. Louis Blues could trade Robert Thomas, 5 best landing spots

The St. Louis Blues could trade Robert Thomas before Friday’s NHL trade deadline. With St. Louis out of the playoff race, Thomas is in trade talks, and the possibility of him playing in a new city is increasing. The 26-year-old center may be the best NHL player to be traded this week.

Below, we consider the five best landing spots for Thomas if the Blues trade him for a big deal!

colorado avalanche

NHL: St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche
Isaiah J. Downing-Imagen Images

The Colorado Avalanche will be a surprising destination, but the fit will be fantastic. Colorado could use an upgrade at center behind Nathan MacKinnon and Brock Nelson, and Thomas would give the team a fearsome third line. It will be a complicated deal in financial matters, but it will be worth it.

detroit red wings

NHL: St. Louis Blues at Detroit Red Wings
Rick Osentoski-Imagen Images

The Detroit Red Wings are one of the few teams that has the assets and need for Thomas. Detroit could use two first-round picks with Nate Danielson or Marco Casper. The St. Louis center would immediately become one of Detroit’s core players, and solidify the organization’s push for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

boston bruins

NHL: Boston Bruins at St. Louis Blues
jeff curry-image images

The Boston Bruins could use some more help at center as their push for the Stanley Cup playoffs continues in March. After trading Brad Marchand last season, acquiring Thomas would be a great way to get rid of trade deadline troubles. St. Louis is demanding a major deal and Boston should be able to meet their wishes.

utah mammoth

NHL: Utah Mammoth at St. Louis Blues
jeff curry-image images

Utah mammoths are on the hunt. Utah needs another top-six center long-term and, like Detroit, it has the financial and asset flexibility to make a deal with St. Louis. Thomas would be a perfect fit with Mammoth and a long-term partnership would be desirable for both parties.

Toronto Maple Leafs

NHL: Toronto Maple Leafs at St. Louis Blues

The Toronto Maple Leafs are not officially out of playoff contention, but their chances are getting worse week by week. By acquiring Thomas, Toronto will find itself poised to make a massive move while improving its positioning for the 2026-27 NHL season. The Maple Leafs are more likely to be sellers, but don’t miss the opportunity for a long-term key player.

Florida Panthers could trade Sergei Bobrovsky, 5 best landing spots

The Florida Panthers are out of playoff contention by several games, and Sergei Bobrovsky could be on the move. Bobrovsky is in the final campaign of a seven-year contract with a $10 million cap hit. At 38 years old, the Florida goaltender hasn’t been as sharp during the 2025-26 NHL season, but joining a team more capable of making the playoffs could improve his game.

Below, we consider the five best landing spots for Bobrovsky if the Panthers trade Bobrovsky at the NHL trade deadline!

edmonton oilers

NHL: Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks
bob frid-images

The Edmonton Oilers need a goaltender, whether it’s Sergei Bobrovsky or someone else. Edmonton players have expressed concern over their current goaltender situation, as the team has allowed more than five goals in two of the last three games. Bobrowski is known for leveling up in the playoffs, and he can lead Edmonton to the Stanley Cup.

montreal canadiens

NHL: Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens could use an upgrade in their goaltending room before the NHL trade deadline. Jacob Fowler is considered a long-term option at goaltender, but Bobrowski would give Montreal a short-term boost. This will still preserve the crease for the future. Whether it’s Bobrowski or not, the Canadiens could use an upgrade with the playoffs in the picture.

carolina storm

NHL: Seattle Kraken at Carolina Hurricanes
James Guillory-Imagen Images

The Carolina Hurricanes have Brandon Bussy as their goaltender, but acquiring Bobrowski would give the team another option. Following Pyotr Kochetkov’s surgery, Carolina’s goaltender depth was tested by placing Bussi in the lead role. It’s not a desperate need, but Bobrowski will help the Hurricanes over the next 20 games.

vegas golden knights

NHL: Nashville Predators at Vegas Golden Knights
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

The Vegas Golden Knights could use an upgrade at the goalie position. While Adin Hill’s save percentage has been over .900 for the past seven years, it has dropped to .858 during the 2025–26 season. With Hill and Carter Hart struggling, Bobrowski could use a change of scenery.

The San Jose Sharks are trying to make a playoff run, and acquiring Bobrowski could take them to the next level. Yaroslav Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic are not a Stanley Cup-winning duo, but the Panthers goaltender will become the primary option. The trade package will likely only be big for a few games, but San Jose needs an upgrade.

Jamal Murray available against Warriors after landing on injury report

The Denver Nuggets visit the Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon looking to build on the massive 157-point performance they scored against the Portland Trail Blazers last time out. However, while they have plenty of absent players to deal with, the Nuggets will be up against a team that is missing its best players.

According to the official injury report, Jamal Murray is on the injury report along with several Nuggets rotation players, with the star guard initially listed as questionable due to a hamstring issue. Murray has since been upgraded to available, but Denver will be without standouts Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson.

However, the Golden State Warriors have bigger concerns of their own, with Stephen Curry confirmed to be out along with Jimmy Butler and Kristaps Porzingis.

Murray was listed as doubtful until just before tip-off, so his status will be monitored. The first-time All-Stars played on both ends of a back-to-back coming out of the recent All-Star break.

Murray is averaging 25.7 points, 7.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds, while posting an elite 61.5 true shooting percentage. His importance has increased even more without Nikola Jokic, with Murray upping his production to 27.8 points and 8.3 assists in 12 games.

Denver enters the game at 36-21 and the No. 3 seed with a strong road record of 21-10, while Golden State is 29-27 and struggling without Stephen Curry.

5 Ideal Bradley Chubb Free Agency Landing Spots

As if their coaching and GM changes weren’t enough, the Miami Dolphins are making roster changes that ensure the team will have a much different look in 2026. Tyreek Hill has already been released. The Dolphins also released pass-rusher Bradley Chubb on Monday.

The Dolphins also released James Daniels and Nick Westbrook-Ikhin, freeing up more than $55 million in cap space. Now, we’re taking a look at which teams might try to sign Chubb right now.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have championship aspirations with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams. Still, without improving on a pass-rush that has the fourth-fewest sacks in 2025, the Bears won’t have a chance. One way to fix this is to sign two-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher Bradley Chubb. The 29-year-old tore his ACL in 2024, but he bounced back with an 8.5 sack season in 2025. It would have ranked as second-best in Chicago, and that would certainly have given the Bears a boost.

new England Patriots

The Patriots did not need an excellent pass-rush to reach the Super Bowl, but not having a better pass-rush could have cost them the win. Generating more consistent pressure is vital to New England’s future success, and Chubb can help get the job done.

atlanta falcons

The Falcons finally found a way to generate a pass-rush last season, but James Pierce’s future in Atlanta may be in question after getting into trouble with the law. If the Falcons need someone to step up in his potential absence, Chubb, a Georgia native, could be an ideal option.

Chubb has played seven seasons since being made the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but he has only played in one playoff game. He came back in 2022. If Chubb is prioritizing a chance to get back to the playoffs, he might be taking a gamble on getting back on track in Kansas City. They will also get a chance to face their old team (Broncos) twice per season.

dallas cowboys

The Cowboys traded away one of the NFL’s best pass-rushers just before the start of last season. They will find it difficult to replace him. Dallas had the seventh-fewest sacks since rebuilding its defense in 2025. Dallas may have a defensive tackle they need to regain the lead. Chubb has double-digit sacks in two seasons, and with Quinnen Williams next to him, he could get there again in Dallas.

The 5 best Tyreek Hill landing spots after the Dolphins release

In a move that was largely expected this offseason, the Miami Dolphins released Tyreek Hill on Monday. Now the eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is free to sign with any team of his choice, and unlike many other players who will be available after this offseason, he will not have to wait until free agency begins on March 11.

Hill can sign with a team right now. Since he is 31 years old and coming off a torn ACL, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him land with a contender or a team with a great passing attack. Below, we evaluate five of the best landing spots for the five-time All-Pro.

new England Patriots

The Patriots didn’t win the Super Bowl, but maybe with a little more help they can achieve their goal next season. Fixing the offensive line will be a priority. If the Patriots can do that, they should consider adding another weapon to their offense. Hill could get additional motivation from playing for the Patriots, where he will have to face his former team twice per season in the AFC East, plus catching passes from Drake Mays could be a special experience.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens may intimidate Hill because not only are they a run-first team, but their receivers are also expected to contribute as run-blockers. He’s not known for his blocking, but Hill would help bring even more pace to a Ravens offense that could use another playmaker to help take pressure off two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.

Eric Bieniemy is returning to the Chiefs this offseason, so maybe it’s time to consider a reunion with Tyreek Hill as well. After all, he recorded 1,000-yard seasons in four of his six years in Kansas City, helping them win a Super Bowl in the process. While the Chiefs traded away Hill after 2021, it became too expensive to continue winning championships with him, but now that he is recovering from a torn ACL and knee dislocation, the 10-year pro would agree to a significantly lower rate.

buffalo bill

It’s clear the Bills need to get some more help from Josh Allen. A zone-wide threat like Hill will certainly open up the field, preventing defenders from crowding the box against Buffalo. With Hill running deep routes and Allen and James Cook keeping defenders honest at the line of scrimmage, the Bills will be extremely difficult to defend.

los angeles chargers

Hill’s former head coach, Mike McDaniel, signed on as the Chargers’ offensive coordinator/playcaller. This makes the Chargers clearly the perfect fit for Hill to follow him to Los Angeles. Hill had two seasons with over 1,700 receiving yards in McDaniel’s offenses, including leading the NFL in receiving yards in 2023. We don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to work together again. Unless the Chargers are looking for better run blockers than their receivers, Hill may have to find work elsewhere.

5 NFL offseason predictions for the top running back landing spots

Teams around the National Football League that are in the market for starting potential this offseason will have quite a few options. While the best class of running backs in free agency doesn’t offer Derrick Henry or Saquon Barkley-caliber talent, there are several 1,000-yard rushers this spring.

Let’s dive into our NFL offseason predictions to see where the top running backs end up in NFL free agency.

Travis Etienne: Arizona Cardinals

Bold NFL Offseason Predictions

Travis Etienne is not returning to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2026. The club is currently projected to be over the cap hit by $11 million and has more pressing needs than its former first-round pick, especially with the emergence of the fearsome Tuten. While the Kansas City Chiefs are a popular landing spot for Etienne, we don’t see Brett Veach involved in a bidding war for one of the top running backs in NFL free agency. However, it feels like the Arizona Cardinals would be willing to make a move. Arizona may not be able to find itself a viable starting quarterback this offseason, but it could improve its rushing attack. The move here would be to sign Etienne to take over as the RB1, with Trey Benson as a complementary unit, and use the third overall pick on an offensive tackle to improve the run blocking for Etienne.

Javonte Williams: Dallas Cowboys

A return to the Dallas Cowboys seems inevitable for Javonte Williams. He found a home in the Dallas offense last season, delivering a career year with over 1,300 scrimmage yards and 13 total touchdowns, while averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Given the number of starting running backs available, he won’t necessarily get a big payday on the open market, so he can stick with the system in which he has excelled. We could see the two sides agree to a two-year deal worth around $7 million per season, which would provide a viable path for Dallas to exit the contract in 2027 with a small dead cap hit.

Kenneth Walker III: Seattle Seahawks

nfl offseason predictions

Even if you take away the Super Bowl MVP, Kenneth Walker led the Seattle Seahawks’ offense and looked like one of the best running backs in the NFL during the playoffs. Using the franchise tag on him isn’t a bad idea, even if the cost is around $14.5 million fully guaranteed for the 2026 season. However, we suspect Seattle will use the transition tag to see what extraordinary the market is willing to offer. Ultimately, with the potential equalizing, we expect Walker to return to Seattle next season.

Rico Dowdle: Houston Texans

nfl offseason predictions
Scott Kinser-Imagen Images

After rushing for 1,000 yards and averaging 4.6 yards per carry in 2024 with Dallas, running back Rico Dowdle had to settle on a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers for the 2025 NFL season. He began the campaign as a backup before posting an electric five-game stretch—650 rushing yards (130.4 rush ypg) and 6.3 ypc—that saw him inserted into Carolina’s offense. However, Dowdle finished the regular season averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and 42.6 rushing yards per game in his final eight contests. He will have to settle for another one-year deal in NFL free agency. We like the Houston Texans as a fit, where Dowdle would have an opportunity to challenge Woody Marks for the starting job and at least be the 1B in the backfield committee.

Breece Hall: Washington Commanders

nfl offseason predictions
Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

There are already NFL rumors circulating this offseason that the Washington Commanders intend to spend big. One way that general manager Adam Peters can support third-year quarterback Jayden Daniels is by providing him with a top-tier running back. Breece Hall’s three-down skill set will be a nice complement to Washington’s offense, giving Daniels a reliable checkdown option with elite YAC ability and a perennial 1,000-yard rusher who can handle 16-20 touches per game. Hall gets paid and it would be easy to see how this gives him a chance to finally play for a contender.
