“I had a lot of doubts” – Manchester City star admits fears over injury return

Manchester City star Rodri has admitted he fears he may not recover from a cruciate ligament injury in 2024.

AS reports comments from Manchester City The midfielder from an interview with DAZN’s Revelado program.

injury nightmare

The 29-year-old player recalled various moments of his career so far, including his absence last season due to injury.

The midfielder was at his peak after winning the Ballon d’Or when he suffered a cruciate ligament tear in September 2024.

That injury caused him to spend the next seven months, 220 days, out recovering, causing him to miss most of the season before returning in April 2025. In total, he missed 51 games for club and country during this period.

return doubt

This was the first major injury of his career, compared to his previous absence at Manchester City which totaled seven games. And he admits he doubted he would be able to bounce back from it.

“It’s part of life. Not so good moments,” he said while looking at a photo of the moment he was hurt.

“It’s my knee injury. You have to deal with it in the most positive way possible. It was a time of reflection, of recovery. It was tough, I won’t deny that, but you’ll get over it and come out stronger. Now I’m back and feeling stronger than ever.

“When I came back, I had some doubts about being able to play normally again. I felt very limited, a lot of pain. When you stop completely, your body brings out what it was not able to give you during that time.

“There was a moment of doubt where I wondered not only whether I would be able to return to my previous level, but also whether I would ever be able to play again. I have proved that. I have returned to that consistency in my football. It’s been a long road, that’s clear.”

Aston Villa investment is generating a lot of excitement – the dream is slowly but surely getting closer

V Sports may see the purchase of FC Annecy Aston Villa The player will be leaving for the French club in the near future.

sport.fr report Annecy have set their sights higher thanks to their new relationship with Aston Villa via V Sports.

aston villa investment

Sport Witness covered a report yesterday It was revealed that Aston Villa owner V Sport has acquired a 30% minority stake in the French club.

Sport.fr explains that this was done through a capital increase that values the Savoyard club at around €15m. To his knowledge, no one actually saw the investment coming.

The partnership has been working behind the scenes thanks to an already well-established collaboration. Aston Villa sent young players on loan, shared ways and common ambitions.

Now the partnership is official, but nothing will change from the government’s side. Sébastien Faraglia remains chairman, Philippe Rey-Gorez is still the majority shareholder, and Laurent Guyot continues to manage the team.

Focus on youth development

Instead the center of the project will be youth development. And Annecy is planning to build a brand new training center to aid the process. This could see the Aston Villa youngster move to France on loan to aid his development.

This is something they have done with other partnerships. For example, many youngsters have spent time at Unai Emery’s Real Union. Plans may already be underway on that front, placing youth at the center of the project.

For Annecy, the ‘dream of reaching the top flight’ is getting closer. For him it is a process that is ‘slowly but surely’. They finished seventh in Ligue 2 last season and are now promoted. Only four points separated them from the top six and eight from the top four.

The investment from Aston Villa owners V Sports is prompting them to dream big anyway, even if their focus will be on youth development for the time being.

Deion Sanders has done a lot of damage to the Jaguars and Browns, didn’t get his take on Hunter and Shedeur?

It seems Deion Sanders is very upset that the NFL teams that drafted their top two players from Colorado last year didn’t seek his input on how to best utilize him.

Most football fans are well aware of the fact that Sanders has a very high opinion of himself. He’s a rare two-pro sport athlete who went from being an eight-time Pro Bowler to a Hall of Famer in the NFL and one of, if not the, greatest cornerback of all-time.

Sanders has also built a solid resume as a coach in the college ranks and has helped put Colorado back on the map as a notable program. His greatest success came when he led the Buffaloes to a 9–4 record and his son Shedure Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter played huge roles in that. Unsurprisingly, both were drafted last year, with the latter being a first-round selection.

However, both of them struggled in their rookie seasons. And it seems Sanders feels it could have been avoided, and would have been poised for an even better sophomore season, if the teams that drafted him, the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars, had asked for his input on how to best utilize him.

Deion Sanders on not getting Browns’ opinion: ‘I don’t understand it’

“I want to meet him,” Sanders told Garrett Bush about new Browns head coach Todd Monken. “Because I think it’s important that as a coach, not as a father, I can tell him some things about [Shedeur]How to take it forward? I wasn’t asked this a year ago. I don’t understand this.

He added, “Even a guy like Travis Hunter is being drafted to Jacksonville, and I’ve had him for the last three years.” “Don’t you think you’d want to talk to me to tell me, to ask me how – what pushes him forward and what holds him back, and what else, like, wouldn’t you like to know?”

Sanders makes a reasonable case. He will know those two players as well as anyone and his insight can be helpful in setting plans for those two players. However, it may be further evidence that Sanders’ adventurous personality has not been welcomed in some NFL circles that the Browns and Jaguars passed up those opportunities.

Arne Slott’s agent hints at ‘a lot of changes’ at Liverpool – talks over Slott contract are huge

Arne Slott’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has hinted that there will be ‘a lot of changes’ liverpool After admitting that signing the deal with the Reds this summer was the biggest moment of his career.

ESPN Netherlands has an interview Today with the Brazilian agent. She discusses a variety of topics including the slot situation at Liverpool.

liverpool summer changes

The Dutch coach is facing an interesting summer, with a large portion of Liverpool fans wanting to see him replaced at the helm.

It has been a difficult year for the Liverpool manager, with Liverpool currently 18 points behind leaders Arsenal after offering a non-existent defense of the title last season.

This comes despite a massive summer in which the Reds spent a record amount of money to reshape the squad with major additions. However, reports from England have indicated that Slott retains the confidence of the club hierarchy. Unless there is a major change, he will remain at Anfield.

This is despite connecting to Ajax. Recent reports have indicated that the Dutch giants have made an offer to the Liverpool manager.

Pimenta would not comment on that. But he hinted that ‘there will definitely be a lot of changes’ at Liverpool and Ajax.

“Ajax is an important club, although it is certainly not a big club like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.” He said.

“But for Brazil, Ajax is a very important club because it is a buying club. And we (Brazil) are an exporting country.”

Arne Slott contract negotiations

Instead, Pimenta preferred to focus on Arne Slot’s initial move to Liverpool in the summer of 2024. According to him, this move was the biggest and most important step in his career so far.

“It was really incredible,” He added.

“Imagine: I grew up in Brazil, where I followed Liverpool from a distance, during a season when you thought: Wow, look at Liverpool! And suddenly you’re sitting there negotiating the manager’s contract. I think it was one of the most influential moments of my career, yes.”

The focus now is on whether further contract negotiations are to take place. With only one year left on his deal, Slott finds himself in a precarious situation.

Whether he gets an extension or not will certainly depend on how next season goes. At the moment, there certainly aren’t many Liverpool fans who would hand it over.

Washington Commanders coach ‘loves’ top defender, did a lot of homework on other prospects too

The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is just hours away, and there is plenty of intrigue over what the Washington Commander could do with the seventh overall selection. After missing the playoffs and seeing their offense and defense decline massively, it is safe to say that the Commanders need help on both sides of the ball.

Still, Washington only has six draft selections overall, and moving up the draft board may not be an option for Commanders general manager Adam Peters. However, that’s probably not what head coach Dan Quinn wants to hear, as he reportedly has his eye on a special talent for his defense.

According to NFL insider Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, Coach Quinn “loves” Ohio State linebacker Sonny Stiles. Still, he says Washington “knows they need a WR and they’ve done a lot of work on Ohio State’s Carnell Tate.”

Both are expected to be in the top-10. Styles, even though he is a linebacker, could be a top-five selection, meaning Washington will have to move up to reach target Quinn Cowets.

As for Tate, it seems more realistic for him to fall to seven, but there is some discussion that Cleveland could select the Ohio State receiver at No. 6. However, finding a franchise for a tackle could influence their decision, leaving Tate to Washington instead.

Either way, it appears the Commander is entering Thursday night with an open mind, which is what you need to do when there are six other teams making selections before Washington.

New York Jets ‘have done a lot of work’ on top QB prospect

After realizing that there was no quarterback worth selecting with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the New York Jets moved quickly to acquire Geno Smith. He is expected to be the Jets’ starting QB for the entire season.

But what about 2027? After all, if Smith could only lead the Raiders to a 2-13 record last year, who’s to say he’d be any better for the Jets? Still, Jets general manager Darren Maugi is reportedly busy identifying other QB prospects who could develop into long-term solutions in New York.

According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the Jets have “done a lot of work” on Alabama QB Ty Simpson.

The Jets have really done a lot of work on Simpson, who is projected to be either a late first-round pick or a late-round pick. New York joined Simpson in a private workout, attended his Pro Day, and even took him out to dinner. The Jets have the second and 16th picks in the first round of the draft. They also have the 34th and 44th picks in the second round.

The Cardinals are another team that has been heavily linked to Simpson, and their QB situation is even more dire than the Jets. The Cardinals pick 3rd and 34th, and we could see both of these teams competing for the spot to make sure they get their guy.

“I expected a lot more than this” – Tottenham star’s level questioned is not impressing Spurs icon

Tottenham Hotspur star Xavi Simmons has found himself in the sights of Raphael van der Vaart, and the former Tottenham midfielder is not impressed.

De Telegraaf reports on Van der Vaart’s comments today. He has been critical of Simmons on Ziggo Sport’s Rondo. And he admitted he expected more from the 22-year-old.

“He disappoints me,” He said.

“I expected too much from him. He wants to show how good he is. It has the opposite effect

“He was a young talent and everyone was talking about him. He’s still playing somewhat the same way.”

“Nothing”

This disappointment is partly due to what came before Tottenham. Simons had established himself as a star man at RB Leipzig, scoring 22 goals and 24 assists in 78 games for the club.

He also impressed on loan at PSV Eindhoven, scoring 22 goals and 11 assists in a total of 48 games for the Dutch side. His record so far at Tottenham is four goals and five assists in 38 games.

Van der Vaart was watching and couldn’t understand how it went so badly at Tottenham.

“His spell at Leipzig was really good. Tottenham is nothing. After PSV, he showed it in the Bundesliga as well,” He added.

Van der Vaart is not the only one to be unsure about Xavi Simmons. Dutch icon Ruud Gullit is also watching. And as a result he is left surrounded by questions.

“He’s very hyped. I still don’t really know how good he can be,” He concluded.

Premier League statistics disappoint

Taking a cold look at the numbers certainly wouldn’t make a happy reading with Xavi Simmons, certainly in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has managed just one goal and four assists in 25 games this season. These are not the kind of figures Tottenham expect from a player who cost €65m in the summer. RB Leipzig certainly don’t regret this deal.

TransferMarket now values him at €50m. This alone shows how much Simmons has struggled this season.

Now Van der Vaart has his sights set on him, and he wants everyone to know he’s not impressed. We’re sure Tottenham fans share this sentiment.

Rising NFL Draft prospect ‘getting a lot of interest from the New England Patriots’

After their Super Bowl loss, the New England Patriots are moving forward in the best way possible, by targeting more roster upgrades. We’ve already seen Patriots general manager Eliot Wolf hit the ground running in free agency again, reaching contracts with guys like Romeo Dobbs, Elijah Vera-Tucker, Draymont Jones, and Kevin Byard, to name a few.

While there will certainly be some minor free agency involved in the upcoming season, the Patriots will also have to turn their attention to the 2026 NFL Draft, which will take place April 23-25. The Patriots have 11 selections for the three-day event, and they may be focusing on one of their targets.

According to NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essential Sports, Georgia tight end prospect Oscar Delap is receiving “a lot of interest” from the Patriots.

Delap recently “crushed” his Georgia Pro Day by running a consensus but unofficial time of 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He combined this with a vertical jump of 38 inches. Pauline noted that Delp’s position work was “excellent”.

He even drew comparisons to Georgia alumnus Brock Bowers after running “quick, crisp routes” and catching the ball “extremely well.” While many regard Oregon’s Kenyon Saadiq as the best prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, Poulin says “Delap is now in the conversation for TE2.”

While the Patriots may be keeping an eye on Delp with the 63rd or 95th overall pick, he also met with the Carolina Panthers after a workout. They certainly aren’t the only team interested in the 6-foot-5 tight end.

“I wouldn’t say” – Tottenham player on future, Spurs appoint psychologist to ‘help me a lot’

Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Vuckovic has refused to talk about his future after this season.

Last summer, the Croatia international arrived at the club after Spurs agreed a £12 million move [€13.9m] Deal with Hajduk Split in September 2023.

Before joining the Premier League team, he had loan spells at Radomiak Radom and KVC Westerlo. In late August, Tottenham let the defender join Hamburg SV on a season-long loan deal.

The temporary move to the Bundesliga has helped the centre-back continue his rise, and the statistics support it.

Last season, he played 2,971 minutes in 36 matches for the Belgian club and scored seven goals. This came from an xG [expected goals] Of 3.56. He has 1,980 minutes in 22 matches for Hamburg so far, scoring five goals at a 3.96 xG.

The defensive performance of Tottenham players has also improved compared to last season. The stats below are per game and the first is for Hamburg and the second is his stats from Westerlo.

  • Intercept: 1.1 – 0.8
  • Tackle: 0.7 – 0.8
  • Dribble past: 0.2 – 0.4
  • Clearance: 8.7 – 5.6

The 19-year-old received six yellow cards and one red card for Jupiler Pro League side and has only five yellow cards with Hamburg.

Vuckovic is attracting interest

Hamburg have signed him on loan with no purchase clause. Therefore, he will have to return to the north London club after this season, where his contract is till 2030.

It is no surprise that the young player’s rapid development is attracting the interest of several top clubs such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Earlier this week, Vuckovic’s Agent Pini Zahavi said A decision on his future will be made at the end of this season.

“I can provide an update in exactly two months,” He said.

image Now I have spoken to the Croatian about his future at Tottenham, who are struggling in the Premier League. Spurs are 16th in the table, one point ahead of 18th-placed West Ham United.

When asked if he would return if Tottenham were relegated from the Championship, he said: “I can’t and won’t say anything about it or about the future in general. I’m their player and my contract is until 2030.”

Vuckovic has already won five man of the match awards this season. His continued rise has brought him media attention in England, Germany, Croatia and across Europe.

When asked how he keeps his feet on the ground, he talked about supporting Tottenham.

“I try not to think too much about it and not read too much on social media. I also have a psychologist employed by Tottenham. She helps me a lot. Of course, it used to be in person, but now it’s over the phone. She gives me good advice on how to deal with certain things. For example, how to react to unexpected events, “ Vuckovic explained.

Why should Tottenham keep him?

The club’s immediate focus is to ensure they remain in the Premier League. Decisions on the Croatian’s short- and medium-term future need to be clarified in the summer.

This will be done upon his return to London, following a successful loan spell with the Bundesliga side.

Vuckovic’s contract expires in 2030 and Igor Tudor’s [contract until the end of this season] The successor must decide on his Tottenham future.

Spurs may regret letting him leave in the summer, especially permanently. Given his development so far and his potential, Tottenham should do everything they can to keep him.

He could come through on another loan to Hamburg, at least until the winter window. The defender has repeatedly said that he wants to play with his brother, who is also at HSV. Mario is serving a doping ban until the end of this year, and another small loan will fulfill the family’s wish.

Sunderland €25 million offer makes a lot of sense

Sunderland may need an improved transfer offer if the Premier League side return for CA Osasuna’s Victor Munoz in the summer.

Wednesday edition of news diary Sunderland’s interest and evaluation of the winger has been covered since January.

The Black Cats added Nilson Angulo and Jocelyn Ta B to their squad in the winter market. The wingers have arrived at the Stadium of Light from Anderlecht and Maccabi Netanya respectively.

Angulo’s preferred position is on the left wing, while Ta Bi operates on the right side of the attack.

The Ecuadorian joined on international deadline day and before his arrival, Regis Le Bris’s side wanted to sign Munoz.

Sunderland first Victor Munoz try

Osasuna paid Real Madrid €5m to acquire 50% of his rights in July 2025. Víctor Munoz scored five goals and provided five assists in 2,196 minutes in 29 games this season.

His performances convinced the English club to make solid progress in the last window.

Last month, Sports Witness Covered claims from Spain Regarding Sunderland’s late attempt to sign the 22-year-old.

The Black Cats initially offered €20m and returned with an improved bid of €25m plus Eliezer Mayenda on loan until the end of the season. However, both the Spaniard and La Liga sides rejected these offers.

First in line for call-up

Muñoz has not made his debut for Spain or represented them at youth level. However, he is in contention to receive his first call-up from manager Luis de la Fuente this month.

La Roja to face Argentina in 2026 Finalsima and Egypt [friendly] During the upcoming international break.

De la Fuente is looking for a replacement due to the injury to Athletic Club Bilbao star Nico Williams. The newspaper says Sunderland target RCD Mallorca has emerged as a strong contender along with Jan Virgili.

The Black Cats offer is worthwhile

Victor Munoz

Le Bris’s team may have identified the Spaniard as a player with potential for development. That may have been an opportunity to improve their attack immediately and help raise money in the long run.

However, Osasuna’s decision not to accept Sunderland’s offer is also understandable. This has given him the chance to enjoy minutes and he is in contention to make his debut for Spain this month.

Sunderland clearly saw something, and for less than €30m they almost got the future Spain international.

transfer market Let’s just say that since joining Osasuna his valuation has increased from €1m to €10m in June, although in the real world this is largely irrelevant.

He has a contract until 2030, which includes a €40m release clause. Osasuna have informed Sunderland about this, and his €40m move would be solidified by a national team debut.

“Totally done it” – the Tottenham defender has been through a lot

Micky van de Ven says it is a ‘terrible time’ for Tottenham Hotspur after Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.

The Netherlands international started in Spurs’ 5-2 defeat to the La Liga side in Madrid.

The Tottenham defender spoke to Ziggo Sport after the match football news Has released his comments.

Spanish newspapers were critical Diego Simeone reviewed Van de Ven’s performance and gave him a blank rating.

Tottenham trailed 4–0 to Atletico after 22 minutes. Igor Tudor gave the opening goal to Antonin Kinski, but he was replaced by Guglielmo Vicario in the 17th minute.

‘Doomsday scenario’ for Spurs

The 24-year-old centre-back has sympathy for the Czech goalkeeper, who made his Champions League debut yesterday.

“It’s terrible for him too, he’s making his debut. You wouldn’t wish that on anyone.” He said.

Van de Ven on how Tottenham lost to Atletico: “Honestly, terrifying: a doomsday scenario.

“Everything that could go wrong in the first twenty minutes went wrong. Everyone slipped, including me. Those are the moments you can’t do anything about. I can’t stand here and start blaming the pitch.”

Mentally tough for Van de Ven

The north London club has faced a tough run of form this season, especially in the Premier League. They are now 16th in the table, one point above 18th-placed West Ham United.

Last month, Tottenham parted ways with Thomas Frank and appointed Igor Tudor as manager until the end of the season. The Croatians have dominated in four matches and have lost all of them.

The Dutchman will miss Sunday’s clash with Liverpool due to a suspension following his red card against Crystal Palace. Van de Ven has come through a tough season with the English club.

“Of course, I can do the standard thing that we all have to stick together and work hard, but we are being given blow after blow. It is really very difficult.” He added.

“We have an important match this weekend which I can’t attend, because I’m suspended of course. But it’s a really terrible time. How am I feeling mentally? It’s hard, I can tell you. Really hard. I have to keep going; that’s life. I’m not on my phone anymore; I’m completely done with it. Just family and stuff.”

That last part in particular would suggest that the Dutchman has had enough of criticism and is protecting himself from both traditional and social media.

tottenham need to change things

mickey van de ven

Spurs have nine Premier League matches left this season, including the match at Anfield this weekend.

This includes matches against Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are also in the relegation battle.

Tottenham can move away from the danger zone by scoring six points against these two clubs. Anything less than wins against both the Reds and Wolves could cause even more pressure.

Mickey Van de Veen also needs to show more upon his return. Following talk of interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, his chances of such a move have certainly been harmed.

‘A lot of discussion’ of Minnesota Vikings’ interest in 4x Pro Bowl QB at NFL Combine

The Minnesota Vikings are trying to open up some cap space after entering the offseason about $44 million over the 2026 spending cap. Moving on from a pair of Pro Bowl players could be in play.

Once the Vikings are cap compliant again, they are expected to pair/compete with JJ McCarthy or possibly look for another quarterback to replace him. He has been linked to a large number of quarterbacks, and that continued this week at the NFL Scouting Combine.

K Vincent Bonsignore California Post Said, “There was a lot of discussion in Indy about the Vikings being linked to Derek Carr.” Bonsignore said he “would imagine that if (Carr) came back, it would be with a contender.”

Carr is believed to be considering a return to the NFL after leaving the league due to a shoulder injury. Now possibly healthy again, Carr, 34, is eyeing a return to form.

The Vikings are looking to add experience to a QB room that features the 23-year-old McCarthy, as well as soon-to-be 25-year-old former undrafted free agent, Max Broesmer. Carr, who has 11 seasons of experience, will add a vital element to the Vikings.

If Carr comes out of retirement, the assumption is that the Saints will attempt to trade him. Still, with Carr having a $36.6 million cap hit in 2026, coming out of retirement could force the Saints to release him. After all, New Orleans is already moving forward with Tyler Shaw as their potential franchise quarterback. They are not returning to Carr now.

Thus, there is a scenario in which Carr could hit the open market. If so, he will have a chance to choose his next NFL team.

“He screams a lot” – Dutch defender on Tudor shock-treatment sounds like the one Tottenham need

tottenham manager igor tudor
tottenham manager igor tudor

Tottenham manager Igor Tudor faces a big challenge at his new club and the first sign of this came in the defeat to Arsenal.

sports witness It covers how the Croatian is already making some big decisions in an effort to get the club back on track. He also had a tough job at Juventus last season and he did not disappoint by taking them to the Champions League.

At the moment, the job at Tottenham is similar to the one Tudor found himself in at Udinese. He saved the club from relegation in 2018 and Spurs need that too.

Former Udinese player Bram Nuytink has now spoken about Tudor’s time at the club, and the fractured relationship with the manager.

Dutch defender not a fan of Tottenham manager

bram nuytink
Udine, Italy, December 11, 2021, Bram Nuytink Picture of Udinese during the Italian football Serie A match Udinese Calcio vs AC Milan (image collection)

Currently at NEC, spoke to the Protector Gianluca Di Marzio About his time under the Tudors.

He made it clear that the Croatian yells a lot and the two never got along well at Udinese. The Dutchman also revealed Tudor’s strict approach to training, which he has already introduced at Tottenham.

Even in Udine I faced hard times. wWith Tudor, who trained us twice, we never really succeeded. For the first time, in 2018, he shouted a lot, was harsh. I remember an argument with Sékou Fofana in training. They sent him off the field.”

Bram Nuytnk made it clear that Udinese needed a jolt at that moment and the Tottenham manager gave them exactly that.

“The team needed a jolt. He came in with four games left and we were in trouble. I didn’t understand it at the time, but over time I came to terms with it. In the end we saved ourselves, he left and came back the next year, under similar circumstances. Same script: tough approach and protection.”

Adding more details, the player revealed that Tudor played a role in his sale from Udinese.

“He was confirmed for next season and in the summer he told me he didn’t want me in the team anymore.

“I’ll tell you – on the last day of the transfer window, the management called me. ‘Bram, we sold you to Ligue 1. We’re sorry, but you’re not in the coach’s plans. Good luck. .’ I didn’t want to believe it. I knew I could still help Udinese. In fact, I declined the offer and remained on the bench for months.

Nuytink revealed that he enjoyed it more under Luca Gotti than at Tudor.

After ten games, Tudor was fired. Gotti Arrived at his place, and immediately something special happened to him. At my first job, they relaunched me as a starter and it was fantastic. I thank them. Thanks to him too, I stayed at Udinese for the next three years

the tottenham manager takes no prisoners

Igor Tudor, manager of Tottenham Hotspur during his time at Juventus
Igor Tudor, manager of Tottenham Hotspur during his time at Juventus

It is clear that Tudor was quite open and clear about his rules and ideas at Udinese. This affected Nuytink’s career but the club achieved a major goal of staying in Serie A.

Given the disappointing situation, Tottenham also want the same right now. It appears that Thomas Frank has problems with specific players and Tudor must fix it using his own brutal methods.

Injuries won’t help but the new manager will have to make big selection decisions in the next few weeks. This is likely to be season defining and given his track record as an interim manager, Tudor can certainly be trusted to deliver the task.

At least Igor Tudor is particularly experienced in dealing with a pesky Dutch defender during relegation battles. That may come in handy soon.

“Did a lot for me” – Player gives huge credit to Julian Steffen for reviving QPR career

QPR’s Nicolas Madsen has praised Julian Steffen for his improvement in his overall game.

talking to dan bold On the huge impact it had on the manager’s QPR career.

He joined the London club from KVC Westerlo in August 2024, when Martí Cifuentes was in charge at Loftus Road. That time, the midfielder said The QPR move was a step up for him.

Madsen’s preferred position is in the middle of the pitch, while he can also operate as both a defensive and attacking midfielder.

Change of position at QPR

Cifuentes primarily used him as an attacking midfielder, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 34 matches in all competitions in his first season.

QPR parted ways with Sifuentes and appointed Stephen as his successor in June 2025. The Frenchman has used him in his preferred role this season and it has helped improve his form.

The midfielder has scored three goals and provided six assists [three more than last season] Out of 33 matches so far this season. It is indicative of the progress they have made under the current QPR boss.

“Last season, I played 10, which probably didn’t quite suit me. But now I’ve played a mix between 6 and 8. I’m a little freer at center to play according to my instincts. It’s made me feel a little more comfortable and where I’m able to put myself in situations where I can perform at my best.”

Stephen’s huge influence

Nuggets news: Nikola Jokic criticizes haters who question his drive: ‘I care a lot’

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic hit back at his critics over his level of commitment to basketball.

Jokic is playing the 11th season of his NBA career with the Nuggets. He earned his place as one of the best players in the entire league, often making it look easy with his elite skill set.

How simple it seems has left critics debating whether the veteran superstar has cared enough about the game over the past few seasons. Jokic finally addressed those things during an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, and dismissed the idea that he doesn’t care.

“There are a lot of people who say, ‘Well how much does he care?'” Andrews asked.

Joc responded, “I care a lot. …I think if you don’t care about winning you shouldn’t be in this game.”

It’s clear that Nikola Jokic has proven himself to be a dedicated winner in the NBA for a long time. That was especially the case throughout his tenure with the Nuggets, leading them to the mountaintop with a 2023 championship.

Jokic continues to be remarkable throughout the 2025-26 season. He averaged 28.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 10.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game in 39 games. He is shooting 59% from the field, including 42% from beyond the arc and 84% from the free-throw line.

Denver compiled a 35–20 record on the season and finished third in the Western Conference standings. They are one game up on the Houston Rockets and 1.5 games up on the Los Angeles Lakers. However, they trail the San Antonio Spurs by 3.5 games and the Oklahoma City Thunder by 6.5 games.

With the All-Star break over, the Nuggets will resume action with a three-game road trip. They will face the Los Angeles Clippers on February 19 at 10:30 PM ET, the Portland Trail Blazers on February 20 at 10 PM ET, and the Golden State Warriors on February 22 at 3:30 PM ET.
