Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan has revealed that they are talking Manchester United Goalkeeper Andre Onana every day, and see no problem in signing him permanently this summer.

Futbol Arena relayed comments from Dogan today In which he has shared his confidence in signing the goalkeeper on a permanent basis.

Andre Onana has spent the season on loan with the Turkish team after it became clear that he was not part of Manchester United’s plans going forward.

Sane Lammens’ success this season has further cemented that position by establishing himself as the number one at Old Trafford.

The Cameroon goalkeeper is not in the long-term plans and needs a move this summer. Trabzonspor are happy to have him again, his loan has proven successful.

The 30-year-old has been a regular for them this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets and conceding 40 goals.

Various reports from Turkey have made it clear that they are keen on a permanent move this summer. Dogan has now shared his confidence on that front and stressed that he is in daily discussions with Onana.

“We talk to Onana every day,” he said.

“We will not have any financial difficulties. We will make the necessary sacrifices. I do not think we will experience any setbacks. But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality.”

Manchester United’s stance

The question is how much Manchester United want Andre Onana this summer. They paid €50.23m in 2023 but got very little return on that investment.

The goalkeeper is now valued at €10m, so they would suffer a significant loss from the goalkeeper either way. And it would not be a surprise for Trabzonspor to ask for a discount on that figure in negotiations.

If Manchester United are keen to move the goalkeeper, particularly to get him off the wage bill, it could be a case of taking him on the chin.

Costa now admits that they knew he was leaving and replacing him would be an almost impossible task.

“It would be impossible to replace him with a player of his caliber, even if we have played successfully without him,” he said.

“Luca is an extraordinary player, but also an extraordinary personality. At the age of 18, he exemplifies in the dressing room the things you would normally expect from a 28-year-old player.

“Add to that the Vuckovic name and the family connection and history. Everyone was waiting for him. Only Mario can fulfill that emotional expectation, no one else.”

Tottenham or a new club?

The big question is what will happen to Luka Vuckovic after he returns to Tottenham. It seems Spurs intend to keep him, even if they are in the Championship.

But the defender’s performances this season have not gone unnoticed. Reports have already linked him to some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

And it seems his ambitions are big too. He has reportedly made it clear that he wants to move on even if Tottenham remain in the Premier League.

This has led to constant rumors and talk of a possible move, with his agent already pushing his name to Barcelona. HSV, meanwhile, will begin the difficult task of finding a replacement.
