Stephanie Wacker is reportedly coming back to WWE television, as PWInsider reports that the former Women’s World Champion is expected to return to screens soon.
This update is a change from what was reported in the weeks after Wacker’s injury was confirmed. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select previously reported that Wacker was on the shelf for the foreseeable future, with no widely known return timetable within the company, and internal rumblings pointing to at least a six-week absence, with optimism but no guarantees that she would return for SummerSlam.
Wecker’s injury was legitimized by Bryan Alvarez after the Raw angle, in which Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Pérez, working with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, attacked Wecker backstage. After Pérez drove a tool box into Wacker’s shoulder during the segment, Michael Cole announced on commentary that she suffered a second-degree AC sprain and would be out for some time.

The exact cause of the injury was never confirmed, leaving open the possibility that it predated the Raw angle and the attack was used to get her off television so that it could be addressed as per the storyline upon her return.
The timing of the injury made it difficult from a creative point of view. Wacker recently lost the Women’s World Championship to Morgan at WrestleMania 42 Night 1 in a match that BodySlam reported was kept shorter than planned due to both performers already dealing with physical problems heading into the show.
Second-degree AC sprains – which involve a partial tear of the acromioclavicular ligament – typically require several weeks to a few months for recovery depending on the severity, making PWInsider’s report of an imminent return a positive update for both Wacker and the women’s division.
