The Los Angeles Lakers have appealed Luka Doncic’s 16th technical foul following an exchange with the Orlando Magic’s Gogo Bitadze during their 105-104 win, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. Luca’s technical foul occurred when he was assessed a double technical for continuously taunting both players.

Former NBA star Dwight Howard officially announced his retirement through a post on social media. Howard posted a video montage of his life from a small child to now on Instagram and announced that it was finally time for him to hang up.

“Woke up today on the 12th of this month and thought it was time to move on from Superman!” Howard wrote on social media. “I’m not a super person… I cry! I struggle! I feel just like everyone else. Through lies, media and hate I still show love and smile through the storm.

“But now I’m retiring from all basketball to help my family and give back to communities around the world. I know some of you may think I thought I already ‘retired’, but I didn’t…the game retired me! I still have so much left to give!”

Dwight Howard said in his social media post that he wished he had a retirement tour like some of his teammates or played into his 40s, but his new mission is to support the next generation of players. He also said that in honor of his number, number 12, he is declaring the 12th of every month as ‘D12 Day’ where he will visit cities around the world and perform random acts of kindness.

Howard also revealed that he has a documentary in the works and plans to release it this year. The film is believed to show his journey from grade school to the NBA.

Previously, the backwards Nike Swoosh served as a hallmark for Nike Giannis sneakers, so it’s interesting to see a clean, metallic gold Nike Swoosh with minimal branding and a center back. The shoes feature a contrasting tongue in black mesh to match the black laces and sockliner, complete with a gold Giannis logo on the tongue.

In a move that has shocked the MMA world, the PFL has officially cut ties with its most high-profile signee, Francis Ngannou.

The promotion released a formal statement Friday morning, confirming that “The Predator” has been released from his multi-fight contract after only one appearance in SmartCage.

“The Professional Fighters League has decided to part ways with Francis Ngannou,” a representative for the PFL told Sherdog.com. “We have great respect for Francis as both an athlete and a person, and we wish him every success in the next chapter of his combat sports career.”

Despite the grand expectations that accompanied his signing in 2023, the partnership concluded with Ngannou fighting only once – a dominant first-round knockout of Renan Ferreira in October 2024. This release marks the end of what many considered a “game-changing” deal for combat empowerment.

When Ngannou joined the PFL after his public exit from the UFC, he was given unprecedented flexibility, including the right to pursue professional boxing and serve as president of PFL Africa. However, after three years and only one MMA bout under their banner, the promotion has decided to move in a different direction.

Hopefully, this surgery will prevent further damage and bring the two-time Wooden Award winner back to life.

The silver lining to the Zach Eddy news is that the Grizzlies should increase their chances of getting a valuable pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. If everything goes in their favor, they may get an opportunity to bolster an exciting young core with top-five talent.

Ideally, both the 23-year-old big man and a new Memphis squad will be better positioned for continued success after an offseason of recovery and reflection.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Dallas Mavericks struck gold this season when they selected undrafted point guard Ryan Nembhard on a two-way contract and officially signed him to a standard deal after the team waived veteran Tyus Jones.

The signing of Ryan Nembhard brings the Mavericks’ current roster to 15 standard contracts. It was originally thought that Tyus Jones would finish the season with the Mavericks, but according to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, he reportedly approached the team asking for a release so he can join a playoff contender.

Weaving Jones may not be the last roster mover the Mavericks make this weekend. According to Siegel, the Mavericks are also awaiting Khris Middleton’s decision, with the waiver deadline for players being on Sunday to be eligible to play in the playoffs. Middleton was acquired at the trade deadline, and there will be plenty of playoff teams interested in his services if he hits the buyout market.

In Nembhard, the Mavericks have a young guard who could be a part of the team’s future. He was limited under his two-way contract in the number of NBA games for which he could be active, and his days of eligibility were almost over.

He has appeared in 38 games this season, including 17 starts, averaging just over 18 minutes per game. He averaged 6.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists with splits of 42.9 percent shooting from the field, 37.9 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 76.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

The Mavericks are currently 21-38 and in 12th place in the Western Conference standings. With each passing day, the chances of a run in the play-ins are becoming less likely.

The Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” will follow in line with the OG version from 1988, featuring a similar silhouette shape and classic Nike Air branding on the rear heel. The colorway comes in a distinctive White/Cement Grey-True Blue scheme, complete with the iconic elephant print along the mudguard, back heel panel and eyelets. AJ Styles has officially secured his future with WWE by signing a new contract that transitions him to a backstage role in talent development.

Following his retirement following his loss to Gunther at the 2026 Royal Rumble, speculation ran rampant as to whether “The Phenomenal One” would seek free agency or potentially join AEW. However, PWInsider reports that multiple sources within the company have confirmed that Styles and WWE have agreed to a new multi-year deal focused on talent development.

The new deal effectively ends rumors of Styles continuing his in-ring career elsewhere. Instead of testing the open market, the two-time WWE Champion is potentially taking on a role overseeing the development of upcoming talent at the WWE Performance Center.

The move is in line with comments made by Styles during his retirement tour, where he said he wanted to “beat the house” and transition to being a consultant while he was still mentally and physically sharp.

News of the contract follows an emotional tribute to Styles on the February 23 edition of Monday Night Raw in his home state of Georgia. During that broadcast, The Undertaker made a surprise appearance and officially announced Styles as the second inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Styles will be joined by Stephanie McMahon at the event, which is set to take place in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 42 week. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the decision to retain Styles was a priority for Triple H and Nick Khan, who see Styles’ experience in TNA, NJPW, and WWE as a huge asset to the current youth movement in NXT.
