The Charlotte Hornets had a strong performance from three-point territory to pick up an easy 134-90 win over the Sacramento Kings at the Spectrum Center on Tuesday.

The Hornets should have provided umbrellas before the game because they rained three-pointers on the Kings. Charlotte tied the franchise record with 26 long bombs.

Coby White and LaMelo Ball each had six three-pointers to lead the offense. Coby White scored 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting and five rebounds off the bench, while Ball had 20 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

Ball accomplished another impressive feat after passing Dell Curry to move into second place in most three-pointers in team history. Ball is now behind only Kemba Walker.

The Hornets improved to 38-34 and are on pace to end their nine-year playoff drought, the league’s longest active skid.

Fans praised the 24-year-old Ball for his hot shooting against the Kings.

After consecutive years on the sidelines, Ball has finally been healthy this season, and it’s no coincidence that the Hornets are playing their best ball in years.

Houston Rockets superstar Kevin Durant continues to add to his Hall of Fame resume late in his career, and what he accomplished on Saturday night against the Miami Heat may be his greatest accomplishment yet. By scoring his 27th point against the Heat, Durant passed Michael Jordan’s 32,292 career points to move into fifth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Very few players can match the accomplishments that Jordan accomplished during his illustrious career, which is why this is such a great accomplishment for Durant. Already known as one of the most lethal scorers in NBA history, Durant now has a top-five scoring rating to back up that claim.

After passing Jordan for fifth on the all-time scoring list, Durant will now look to pass Kobe Bryant’s 33,643 career points, potentially moving him into fourth place sometime during the 2026-27 season. Karl Malone (36,928), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), and LeBron James (43,241 and counting) are likely out of Durant’s reach at this point in his career.

Jordan was considered by many players during the Durant era to be the greatest player in league history, including the 16-time All-Star. That’s why Durant is still surprised to see his name next to all the greats of the game, including Jordan.

“It’s great to be in the same category as some of the greatest players to ever play this game,” Durant said recently, via NBA.com. “He has added so much to the game that has inspired me to stay for so long.”

When he passed Dirk Nowitzki for sixth on the all-time scoring list against the New Orleans Pelicans on January 18, Durant said it was “crazy” to be on the list with a “legend” like Nowitzki.

Durant said, “I want to continue to make a lot of appearances, climb up the charts, just see how I finish. It’s been amazing so far.”

What makes all these late-career accomplishments even more amazing is the fact that Durant has continued to play like one of the best players in the NBA even after suffering an Achilles injury in the 2019 NBA Finals and missing all of the 2019-20 season.

Very few athletes are able to return to the sport they love after an Achilles injury and still remain effective. Not only has Durant done this, but his overall production and value have remained unchanged before and after the injury.

Durant has had one of the most decorated careers in basketball history, especially when you include his Team USA accomplishments at the Olympics, and surpassing Jordan on the all-time scoring list is another reminder of how great KD is.

Cooper Flagg broke Kobe Bryant’s NBA record after his performance in the Dallas Mavericks’ 138-105 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

Flagg is spending the first season of his career with the Mavericks. After a slow start, he has made serious progress as he continues to live up to expectations as one of the best rookies in the draft.

In the running for the Rookie of the Year award this season, Flagg has continued to put in incredible performances that promise Dallas’ long-term potential. After the team’s latest game against Cleveland, the young forward achieved another record in NBA history.

In 29 minutes of action, Flagg finished with a stat line of 25 points, five assists and four rebounds. He made 8 of 16 shots from the field, including 1 of 3 from beyond the arc and 8 of 8 from the free-throw line.

Flagg recorded a 20-point game for the 25th time this season, having already achieved the record at the age of 19. He surpassed Bryant for most 20-point games by a teenager in NBA history.

Cooper Flagg, how the Mavericks played against the Cavaliers

Cooper Flagg’s historic efforts were not enough as the Cavaliers’ offense was too much for the Mavericks in a blowout loss at home.

Five players, including Flagg, scored in double figures for Dallas in the loss. Najee Marshall came in next with a solid performance of 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal. He made 7 of 12 shots overall, including 2 of 4 from downtown and 1 of 4 from the charity stripe. Max Christie had 12 points, Brandon Williams added 12 points and three assists, while Dwight Powell provided 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Dallas fell to a 22–45 record on the season and finished 12th in the Western Conference standings. They are above the New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz while trailing the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers.

The Mavericks will look to bounce back in their next match at home. They will host the Cavaliers in a rematch as tip-off will take place on March 15 at 3:30 PM ET.

Ask any fan who the greatest player in Orlando Magic history is. The answer is usually limited to just four players: Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway, Tracy McGrady and Dwight Howard.

Although he’s still a long way from those legendary names, Desmond Benn is slowly making his mark in Orlando.

In his first stint with the Magic, Ben has already made game-winners and scored explosively, silencing critics who turned up their noses at the team’s decision to trade for him in the offseason.

In Wednesday’s 128-122 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Kia Center, Ben had another impressive performance. He scored a game-high 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting, six rebounds and six assists. He had no turnovers.

According to ESPN Insights, the 27-year-old guard became only third player O’Neal and McGrady set a team history record of 35 points, five assists and zero turnovers in a single game.

Not bad at all for someone who is on his first visit to Orlando.

The Magic won their fifth consecutive game and went up 36–28. The Cavaliers, meanwhile, fell to 40-26.

The Magic dropped their last two meetings against the Cavaliers.

Many eyebrows were raised when the Magic acquired Benn from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Cole Anthony, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and four unprotected first-round picks. The consensus was that the Magic gave up too much.

However, Bane has shown his worth. He got off to a slow start as he was still adjusting to his new team, but has since found his rhythm, showcasing the two-way talent that has made him one of the more dependable players in the NBA.

The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Miami Heat on Thursday. During the contest, star guard Tyrese Maxey made franchise history by surpassing one of Allen Iverson’s team records.

After scoring a three-pointer at the end of the first quarter, Maxey surpassed Iverson’s three-pointer record for the 76ers. Iverson initially set the record with 885 three-pointers during his time in Philadelphia.

Maxi will have the opportunity to continue adding to his franchise record. Especially considering that the six-year veteran signed a five-year, $204 million contract through the summer of 2024. That deal locks him in Philadelphia through the 2028-29 campaign.

The 25-year-old guard has emerged as a superstar in Philadelphia since joining the club in 2020. He ultimately had a breakout year in the 2023–24 campaign, earning the Most Improved Player of the Year award for his efforts.

Tyrese Maxey continues to play at a high level, as he entered Thursday’s game averaging 29.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting 46.7% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the three-point line. His performances this season earned him the second All-Star award of his career.

Maxi broke Iverson’s record which was set in the 2009–10 season. It took almost 16 years to break that franchise record. Tyrese Maxey was able to surpass Allen Iverson’s three-point record in just six seasons, while it took the 76ers legend just over 10 seasons to reach 885 three-pointers. However, the game has changed significantly since then, as players shoot more threes than ever before.

DeMar DeRozan reached a career scoring milestone involving Paul Pierce during the Sacramento Kings’ matchup against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

DeRozan is in the 17th season of his NBA career, his second with the Kings. He stands out as one of the most experienced scorers in the league, showing solid nights on the offensive side of the ball.

Heading into Sacramento’s game with Houston, DeRozan has scored 26,391 regular season points throughout his career. This placed him 22nd on the all-time scoring list, behind John Havlicek’s 26,395 points and Pierce’s 26,397 points.

DeRozan needed six points to tie Pierce and seven to move past 20th. He completed the work. The veteran scorer had seven points in the first half, surpassing both Havlicek and Pierce in the process.

This was an incredible accomplishment for DeMar DeRozan, surpassing NBA legends Paul Pierce and John Havlicek. However, he couldn’t top it with a win as the Kings suffered a crushing 129-97 defeat to the Rockets.

The game was over by halftime. Sacramento couldn’t find rhythm on defense and gave up 77 points in the first 24 minutes of regulation. The Kings never recovered from that poor start, unable to keep up with Houston’s offense.

Four players scored in double figures for Sacramento in the loss, including DeRozan. He finished with a stat line of 15 points, seven assists, one rebound and one steal. Russell Westbrook led the team with 22 points, five rebounds and three assists. Nick Clifford came next with 15 points and four steals, while Maxime Renaud provided 11 points and eight rebounds.

Sacramento fell to a 13–47 record on the season, finishing at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. They trail the New Orleans Pelicans and Utah Jazz.

The Kings will look to bounce back in their next game while on the road in Texas. They will face the Dallas Mavericks on February 26, tip-off at 8:30 pm ET.

The Boston Celtics take on the Golden State Warriors in the woodshed at San Francisco’s Chase Center on Thursday, with Peyton Pritchard adding even more to his team’s incredible evening.

Pritchard moved ahead on the franchise’s all-time 3-pointers list, passing the legendary Ray Allen for the No. 6 spot via Boston coverage manager Taylor Snow.

Former Oregon Ducks star Pritchard entered the Warriors game with 797 3-pointers in his NBA career with Boston, and Allen needed only one to tie the franchise list.

The 28-year-old Prichard has played all of his years in the NBA in Celtics colors, and he has developed into one of the team’s more reliable offensive weapons.

With Jayson Tatum still out due to injury, Pritchard has seen increased playing time and has been rewarded by providing consistent scoring for Boston, mostly as a starter. During his first 53 games in the 2025–26 NBA season, Prichard averaged 17.2 points (career-high), 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists, while draining 2.6 3-pointers per outing.

Opposing defenses have paid more attention to Pritchard amid Tatum’s absence. But he’s still providing consistent offensive performance for the Celtics, who remain one of the league’s best teams despite Tatum’s injury.

Pritchard, whose current contract with Boston does not expire until the summer of 2028, can continue to compile more 3-point shots. Right above him on the list is Marcus Smart, who drained a total of 911 3-pointers as a Celtic.

Paul Pierce is the Boston franchise’s all-time leader in 3-pointers with 1,823.
