Player’s agent ‘betting on Chelsea’ – rejecting others waiting for the Blues

‘Spectating,’ said El Mala’s agent, his mother Sabrina El Mala. chelsea‘ to make a bid for the 19-year-old this summer.

Sport Bild Report That ‘El Mama’ is rejecting offers from other clubs while she waits for Chelsea to enter the picture.

chelsea hope

The newspaper reports that Sabrina El Mala became concerned earlier this year following reports that the Brighton forward had pulled out of talks.

She wanted to know if the Premier League team had indeed withdrawn their offer because it did not match the plan. Brighton confirmed that they have not withdrawn their offer, but everything with FC Cologne is on hold.

The German side had blocked the negotiations. Brighton were not allowed to submit their €35 million offer. Fabian Herzeler’s side do not want to go anywhere near the €50m asking price. The plan was to wait for the price to drop and then move up.

Meanwhile, Brentford have made a move and offered Cologne €50m. It looked like the deal was moving forward, but then a report on Thursday said Sabrina El Mala drops a transfer bomb on Thursday and blocked the move.

chelsea finance problem

Sport Bild report the possibility that he is ‘betting on Chelsea.’ According to their information, Chelsea have hinted in talks with Said El Mala’s representatives that they could pursue a move to Brighton.

They would then send the young star back to Cologne on loan for a year. Such an arrangement would be a ‘dream come true’ for the family. El Mala’s future will be settled, and he can spend another year in his homeland. Cologne will be happy too

The problem is that Chelsea are unlikely to do such a deal. Their financial situation will not allow a €50 million deal this summer, not without a sale first. Reportedly, the Blues are avoiding any expensive deal that does not ‘provide an immediate boost’.

Meanwhile, Brighton have no interest in a loan-back deal. But it seems Sabrina El Mala is holding out hope, perhaps explaining the recent Brentford rejection.

“They are great players” – Sergej Zakirovic asked about signing two players for Hull

Hull City Manager Sergej Jakirovic has admitted he is eyeing a flight to the Croatian club this summer as he eyes a Premier League contract.

sports news interview Today with the Hull City manager in which he discussed his summer plans for the Tigers.

Hull’s busy summer transfer window

Hull are expected to be extremely busy throughout the summer as they reshape their squad for life in the Premier League.

Having reached the playoffs surprisingly, to say the least, Sergej Zakirovic and his team are already behind Coventry City and Ipswich Town in terms of planning.

Both of these sides have also been pushing for the Premier League for some time, while Hull were only planning a mid-table finish in the Championship this season.

Zakirovic has already admitted that he wants 12-15 signatures To strengthen your squad. He will be looking to emulate Sunderland’s busy summer, which ended with them relegating them to European football next season.

His success came from smart scouting across Europe, and Zakirovic believes he can take a look at the SHNL, a league he knows well.

“Of course, I’m looking,” he said.

“There are players in our league who are interesting to us, but we still have to see what their price will be and whether we will have players in their place who might be more acceptable to us.”

two targets designated

Reports last summer had already linked Hull with Arbor Hoxha at Dinamo Zagreb and Rijeka’s Toni Fruk. The Hull manager is willing to look at both of them again, believing they are ready for the Premier League.

He said, “It’s true, Hoxha was our target, but because of the embargo we couldn’t compensate and Dinamo didn’t want to let him go.”

“I also wanted to bring (Rokas) Puktas from Hajduk and Fruk from Rijeka, but you won’t be able to do that if you don’t pay compensation. These are all players who will be strong for us in the championship.”

When asked if he could be Premier League reinforcements, he concluded, “I think so, they are great players.”

“I know Hoxha well at Dinamo, Puktas has great instincts, Fruk is fantastic in finals. They will all definitely be part of our analysis and discussion, but it is too early to draw any conclusions. We need to see how much money we will have available and who we will be in a position to bring in.”

“Those I have listed can definitely (play in the Premier League). Otherwise, why doubt the quality of the players who dominate our league? People with genuine ambition always find their way.”

President in confident mood on Manchester United transfers – Daily Chat with Players

Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan has revealed that they are talking Manchester United Goalkeeper Andre Onana every day, and see no problem in signing him permanently this summer.

Futbol Arena relayed comments from Dogan today In which he has shared his confidence in signing the goalkeeper on a permanent basis.

trabzonspor confidence

Andre Onana has spent the season on loan with the Turkish team after it became clear that he was not part of Manchester United’s plans going forward.

Sane Lammens’ success this season has further cemented that position by establishing himself as the number one at Old Trafford.

The Cameroon goalkeeper is not in the long-term plans and needs a move this summer. Trabzonspor are happy to have him again, his loan has proven successful.

The 30-year-old has been a regular for them this season, making 33 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets and conceding 40 goals.

Various reports from Turkey have made it clear that they are keen on a permanent move this summer. Dogan has now shared his confidence on that front and stressed that he is in daily discussions with Onana.

“We talk to Onana every day,” he said.

“We will not have any financial difficulties. We will make the necessary sacrifices. I do not think we will experience any setbacks. But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality.”

Manchester United’s stance

The question is how much Manchester United want Andre Onana this summer. They paid €50.23m in 2023 but got very little return on that investment.

The goalkeeper is now valued at €10m, so they would suffer a significant loss from the goalkeeper either way. And it would not be a surprise for Trabzonspor to ask for a discount on that figure in negotiations.

If Manchester United are keen to move the goalkeeper, particularly to get him off the wage bill, it could be a case of taking him on the chin.

‘Final decision’ on Leeds player’s transfer after meeting with Whites – Farke’s side take decision

leeds unitedAfter a season-long loan at Valencia, Largi Ramazani will return to Elland Road.

The winger scored six goals and two assists in 31 appearances and most of those came earlier this year.

His performances led to suggestions the La Liga side wanted to retain the player from Leeds United.

As there was no buyout clause, Los Chasse had to agree to new terms with Daniel Farke’s side.

On Wednesday, Sports Witness covered many of Spain’s claims Valencia CEO Ron Gourlay’s upcoming meeting with the Whites for Ramadan.

leeds united meeting key

Thursday edition of As Looks at the pros and cons of a new deal for a 25-year-old. He also explains why Ron Gourley’s meeting with Leeds United is important.

Larghi Ramazani had difficulties at the beginning of his loan spell at Valencia, partly due to injury. His league debut was in February and he became a game changer, before losing his place in the playing eleven in May.

His attitude and behavior Last month his teammate Carlos Corberán and his coaching staff were reportedly not happy.

Despite these shortcomings, the Spanish club are willing to re-sign him this summer. Los is the CEO of Chase ‘I know that wingers like Ramazani are rare, even if the Belgian has mixed qualities.’

AS state Grayles will have a ‘final decision’ on the attacker’s future once he knows the Whites’ demands.

The Premier League side are clear he has no future at Elland Road. Therefore, they could remove him permanently and their request will be key to determining whether he continues at Valencia or not.

Our take: Playing it safe with the Leeds United man

Larji Ramazani is a market opportunity for Valencia but not a priority. It looks like Los Chase is playing it safe, in which case no deal is possible.

Valencia may use the leak of its suspicious attitude in May as a price-cutting strategy.

They can always use this as an excuse if Los Angeles Chargers refuse to meet Leeds United’s price. In recent years, the Spanish club has had to carefully manage its finances due to economic challenges.

Aston Villa and the defender are both clear that he will leave this summer. The destination will have to be decided on the basis of formal proposals.

Villains likely to get loan approval

There is no clarity on whether Andres Garcia will move on loan or a permanent transfer this summer.

7 NFL players who could be traded in June

The NFL calendar continues to move toward June, when we’ll see all teams in action. Players reporting and participating in mandatory minicamp will make headlines based on who is there and who isn’t. There is always a possibility of further injury.

Dissatisfying relationships and ailing ligaments could inspire more trade and free agency activity. Not to mention the all-important June 1st, which could bring a flurry of activity on the markets for two high-profile wide receivers. Add it all up, and we’ve created a list of seven NFL players who could be traded in June.

When the Bears traded a fifth-round pick for Garrett Bradbury, it was because their 27-year-old Pro Bowl center Drew Dallman had retired three days earlier. Circumstances have changed since the Bears selected Iowa’s Logan Jones in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft in April. Now, if Jones looks ready to start, the Bears could look to recoup his draft compensation or something close to it.

If the 49ers trade or cut former All-Pro Brandon Aiyuk to another team before June 1, they will incur a dead cap charge of $29.5 million with a savings of only $14.9 million. They have been incredibly stubborn so far, indicating that they will not bite him and get nothing in return except a larger bill. Meanwhile, more flexibility is available after June 1, where the 49ers will only face an $8.3 million dead cap penalty, saving $6.3 million. The Commanders have been the most popular landing spot, as he would be able to reunite with his former college QB Jayden Daniels.

It doesn’t seem like the Colts are planning on trading former No. 4 pick Anthony Richardson in the near future. However, an injury to a starter or even a top backup could prompt a strong trade offer. Or perhaps the Colts are starting to really like what they see in 23-year-old Riley Leonard, enough to move over as the backup to Richardson.

Kayvon Thibodeaux

The Giants are almost at an embarrassment of riches at the pass-rusher position. About. While former first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux will certainly have an important role as the third/situational edge player behind Brian Burns and Abdul Carter, he is also entering the final year of his contract. The Giants may be able to generate a good trade return while doing the 25-year-old a favor by finding him a starting opportunity elsewhere.

Alvin Kamara

The Saints really don’t need Alvin Kamara anymore. He certainly won’t play nearly the same role he did before signing a four-year, $48 million contract with Travis Etienne. The players’ skills essentially match each other, meaning Kamara will have more luck in the same role he is used to in a different environment.

The Cardinals have come into voluntary OTAs, but one of their best players, Josh Sweat, is not in attendance. He is not hurt. According to team insider Kyle Odegaard, Sweat is not “happy” with the team. But no one has revealed why this is so. Ranking 21st in contract value among edge rushers is likely part of the reason, especially after recording a career-high four forced fumbles and 12 sacks.

The NFL’s best-kept secret is that the Eagles are planning to trade Pro Bowl receiver AJ Brown. In fact, at this point it is “somewhat understood”. Most expect Brown to stay in New England with his former head coach Mike Vrabel, but that can’t be certain.

Club waiting for ‘millions of spectators’ from Newcastle United – players are being offered from all over

newcastle united Manu is curious about the deal and has rekindled hopes of a deal.

The midfielder has been a key player for AS Roma since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2024. His dynamic skills have become quite a threat in Serie A, with Gian Piero Gasperini bringing more out of him this season.

A few weeks ago, sports witness Newcastle United’s interest in the Frenchman was widely covered. Roma’s financial situation was a major reason behind this, as they had to sell players by the end of June to stay within UEFA restrictions.

After a period of chaos, the Italian team now finds itself in the Champions League spots. There is still a game left and they are two points ahead of Como and Juventus.

Ideally, this would remove financial uncertainties, but that may not be the case.

Roma still interested in sale

Today, messenger Make it clear that Kone is still a leading candidate to leave Roma in the summer. Even though Champions League qualification will help them, the Giallorossi will hope to ‘rain millions’ from the sale of Kone.

A big name is expected to leave the Stadio Olimpico and the France international could be that player.

Newcastle United’s interest comes amid indications that Kone’s squad are offering him their surroundings. In recent weeks, Atlético Madrid were offered the chance to sign him but they did not take part.

It comes as there is new hope for the Magpies, with Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain also in the picture.

Roma’s game against Verona at the weekend is expected to be Kone’s last game for the club. However, it is very likely that his evaluation will depend on how he performs at the World Cup with Les Bleus.

It’s probably hard for a magpie to move

Newcastle United’s failure to qualify for Europe would hinder their hopes of signing Kone. He has played in the Europa League at Roma and Inter and PSG could offer him Champions League football.

The Nerazzurri have been long-time admirers and tried to sign him last summer. PSG will be an opportunity for him to return to his country.

He could be a very suitable replacement for Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali. But the final decision must come to the ex-Gladbach man, who may prefer another club.

Manchester United players agree personal terms to exit – serious talks underway

of manchester united Marcus Rashford has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona ahead of a permanent move this summer.

game The report adds that Barcelona have reached an agreement over the forward’s wages, but are now seeking ore favorable terms with Manchester United.

Barcelona is working on a deal

The newspaper reports that Barcelona are pushing hard to keep Marcus Rashford when his loan deal with Manchester United expires at the end of the season.

It came after Barcelona manager Hansi Flick requested that the 28-year-old be kept as part of the project. The Catalan club had practically rejected a deal due to his price, but alternative options have not convinced Flick.

Rashford has played his part, making it clear he is willing to make it easier to fit his ‘multimillion-euro’ salary within Barcelona’s wage range.

A long contract will be agreed, and the Englishman is willing to share the payment and give up part of his salary. Now Barcelona want to avoid paying the €30m buyout clause they agreed with Manchester United last summer.

Manchester United has a strong grip

Manchester United, for their part, have been very firm in early talks. They are refusing to accept a lower transfer fee or an extension of the loan deal.

He has also argued that the current €30m price tag is below the value of Marcus Rashford. They have already agreed to a flexible payment plan to be paid over three years. Barcelona want a price cut, but it is unlikely United will accept it.

However, their main problem is Rashford. He is blocking any talks, does not want to return to Old Trafford Will not accept any other proposal.

This has left Manchester United in a ‘real crisis’. Sport argue that both clubs are certain to reach an agreement, but they need to find a deal that satisfies both parties.

Barcelona would like another loan with a new, less mandatory purchase option. At that time Rashford would have only one year left on his contract with Manchester United. But they also want to save on Rashford’s wages for a second season.

In other words, they want their cake, then they want to eat it too. After that they want another cake and then they want to eat that too.

Manchester City duo wanted in the transfer market
Manchester City duo wanted in the transfer market

Manchester City Pair Bernardo Silva and Omar Marmoush have both been reported about a possible transfer to Galatasaray this summer.

Saba reports on the Manchester City pair today. The newspaper reports that while the Turkish side is raising its voice against Silva, Marmoush has also ‘received information’.

manchester city duo on the phone

They reveal the pair were on the phone with former Manchester City midfielder Elke Gundogan, who recently spoke out about the matter.

“Some of my former teammates have called me and asked questions about the club and the league, but I don’t want to reveal names.” He admitted recently.

Sabah have now reported that those two players are Omar Marmoush and Bernardo Silva. When it comes to the former, the report claims that he picked up the phone to contact Gundogan directly and get information about Galatasaray.

The 27-year-old is likely to be targeted if the Turkish side decide not to retain Mauro Icardi this summer. That decision is yet to be taken.

Bernardo Silva in demand

Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva is a long-term target. He is set to become a free agent when his contract at the Etihad expires this summer. But there is competition across Europe, with Juventus particularly keen on him.

The 31-year-old player wants to continue his career with the team present in the Champions League. Galatasaray can certainly offer that.

It has not been made clear what Marmoush wants from his next team. But it seems he is looking around and assessing his options ahead of the summer.

The Egyptian has barely made an impact at the Etihad since arriving last year after thriving in Germany and has played as a back-up behind Erling Haaland. He is now also behind several other options, such as Ryan Cherky and Antoine Semenyo.

However, he will definitely want to see what the plans are at Manchester City after Pep Guardiola. This could change his thinking significantly, even if he has talked to Gundogan about life in Turkey.

“Leaving is hard” – Chelsea players get emotional after final home game

chelsea Giovanny Quenda will be acquired this summer by the winger after he bid an emotional farewell to Sporting supporters at Alvalade this weekend.

Saturday’s match against Gil Vicente represented the 19-year-old’s final home appearance before moving to Stamford Bridge. And while there was little pressure in the result – Porto had already clinched the Portuguese title – the atmosphere around Quenda told a different story.

The academy graduate came off the bench for the final 20 minutes and still managed to leave one last mark, providing the assist for Sporting’s final goal of the night. Then came goodbye.

Emotional farewell before Chelsea transfer

Kwenda struggled to hide his emotions after the match. As Widely disseminated by the Portuguese pressThe winger admitted the final weeks have been difficult as he prepares to leave the club he joined at the age of 11.

“It’s been tough for me. Even on my birthday, when I spoke to my teammates, I told them the last few weeks were tough.” He said.

“Leaving the club that welcomed me since the age of 11, helped me a lot, and not only me but also my family, is obviously difficult. Now even my hair is standing on end. I just have to thank this club.”

The sentiment became even more evident when he was asked what was going through his mind as he looked at the stands after the final whistle.

“A lot of things. I had to do a lot to reach the first team. Every person who enters the academy dreams of reaching the first team one day.” Kwenda explained.

“I worked for it and managed to achieve my dream. It wasn’t long, only two seasons, but I managed to win two titles and I will strive for the third which is still missing.”

One last trophy before Chelsea

That ultimate objective is now very clear. Sporting still has to play in the Taça de Portugal final next weekend against lower-league team Turin. This will almost certainly be Kwenda’s final appearance before officially becoming a Chelsea player.

He wants to take home another medal.

“Next week we have another title to fight for and I will give everything I have so that the Portuguese Cup can be here again,” He added.

But his departure continued after the match. On Sunday, Kwenda posted a short message to supporters on social media.

“Thank you, Alvalde. It was special, believe me.”

For Chelsea, this is the version of Kwenda they have now inherited.

Players ready for final league game as Everton go into hiding – club looking for ‘concrete offer’ from Toffees

everton There could be an opportunity to sign Artem Dovbek, as Roma look set to part ways with the striker.

The Ukraine international returned to action at the weekend against Lazio. It was his first appearance since the first week of January, as he had been absent for more than five months due to a thigh injury.

Although he did not score, he hit the post once and did enough to leave his mark in the match. Roma won 2–0 and were back in the Champions League.

This came just days after Everton was mentioned as a possible destination for the forward. sports witness Told how common ownership could help, the idea of a move to the Toffees is still alive for Dovbeek.

Dovebeak is ready for the last game

solororama Report that despite his cameo on Sunday, Dovbić will leave Roma in the summer. Gian Piero Gasperini never came across as a fan, which led to this Link With Newcastle United last year.

It is believed the Ukraine international will take to the field for the last time in Roma colors next weekend. The Giallorossi have the chance to seal a return to the Champions League when they take on Hellas Verona. Dovbek should be involved but it will be his last time playing for Rome.

This presents an opportunity for Everton, who need to make a ‘concrete offer’ to agree a deal. Roma already have plans to use the money received from his sale, making him a prime candidate to leave in the summer.

Everton signing him before the end of June would help Roma in their UEFA FFP fight.

Roma’s attacking problems have already been solved with the arrival of Donyale Malen. This makes Dovbeek a back-up who is no longer needed by the club.

Our Opinion: The deal should be cheap

Roma paid a base fee of €30.5m for the striker in 2024 as he signed a five-year deal. As a result, Dovbeek weighs less than €20m in the Giallorossi’s accounts.

This suggests Everton could make a deal for just over €20m.

While Beto has found form for the Toffees in recent weeks, it remains to be seen whether he has a future on Merseyside. Dovebeak can serve as an efficient replacement and may even prove to be an upgrade if he settles in well. He has put in very impressive performances for Verona and has scored 20 times in all competitions, even during the clash in Rome.

Latest intel on 2 players the Houston Astros could move this summer

The Houston Astros enter MLB games today with the second-worst record in the American League, with a top-10 lineup suppressed by the worst pitching staff in baseball. With this proving to be a disastrous year for Houston, the struggles could force the front office to make roster moves at the MLB trade deadline.

FanSided’s Robert Murray wrote that if the Astros ultimately decide to become sellers this summer, the most likely players to be moved are infielder Isaac Paredes and first baseman Christian Walker.

Houston entered the weekend with an 18-28 record, leaving it 10 games short of .500, but just four games behind the Texas Rangers for the third wild card spot in the American League. The club is also just six games behind the first-place Sacramento Athletics in the AL West, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the club could bounce back this summer and get back into playoff contention.

The question is whether or not the Astros pitching staff can get to a place where this team can compete. Hunter Brown, sidelined with a shoulder problem, is on the 60-day injured list and isn’t expected to return until sometime in June. Meanwhile, Ronel Blanco (elbow) is still only throwing bullpen sessions, and Cristian Javier is early in the throwing schedule and won’t return until the summer.

To put the Astros’ pitching problems into perspective, they have the worst ERA in MLB (5.47) and are the only club in baseball with an ERA over 5. Starting pitching (5.16 ERA, 29th in MLB) has been an issue, but the bullpen (5.81 ERA) has been the biggest culprit.

Luckily for Houston, Walker is helping his trade value significantly this summer. In the second year of a three-year, $60 million contract, his batting average (.235 to .268), OBP (.297 to .342) and OPS (.717 to .848) have skyrocketed compared to last season.

Paredes is making $9.5 million this season, and he has a club option for 2027 worth $13.35 million. The 27-year-old infielder has a .734 OPS with a .257 batting average this season in 34 appearances at third base, six at first and three at second base.

Estevao still refusing surgery – Chelsea disappointed with young player’s return to London

chelsea’s The situation regarding Estevao’s injury has not softened, but the player’s camp has not softened either. Both sides are also favoring different recovery paths after the youngster’s World Cup hopes were dashed.

At one level, the disagreement can be explained by urgency. Estevao wanted to keep the possibility of playing for Brazil alive this summer. Chelsea were thinking ahead, wary of rushing the 19-year-old through his recovery from a serious muscle injury after an already rocky start to his first season in England.

now though, The World Cup is gone from the equationBut the divide remains where it was.

Chelsea still in favor of surgery

according to globo esporteChelsea believe surgery would be the best course of action following the forward’s hamstring injury.

The issue was discussed early in the recovery process when Estevao suffered what was described as a serious hamstring injury in Brazil.

Reports vary slightly as to the exact severity, but there has never been any doubt that the injury was significant.

chelsea’s thinking The entire saga has been relatively straightforward.

The club sees Estevao as one of the key parts of their future project and have no interest in taking unnecessary risks with recurring muscle problems at an early stage of his career.

There have already been several absences linked to muscle problems this season alone. This concern partly explains why the club initially leaned toward surgery.

Estevao camp refuses to change course

What’s shocking now is that Estevao and the professionals around him still don’t agree – even with the World Cup no longer on the table.

The report states that the player’s entourage is confident that conservative treatment is the right option and there is no need for surgery.

Previously, it was possible to formulate the Orthodox path as a aggressive effort to beat the clock For the tournament. But that pressure has vanished with Carlo Ancelotti leaving Estevao out of Brazil’s preliminary World Cup list.

And yet the treatment plan remains the same. So it’s no longer about trying to create a miracle recovery for June. There are real differences in medical philosophy and risk assessment between club and player.

Return to London may be important

As we covered earlierEstevao is expected to return to England soon after spending his recent days in Brazil working in Palmeiras’ facilities, where he continues his rehabilitation under a shared structure involving the Chelsea staff and his personal performance team.

The Blues are expected to re-evaluate the player, and this could restart internal discussions about the next step in his treatment. Meanwhile, Estevao seems comfortable continuing with a slower and more conservative approach.

It remains to be seen whether the club will push for surgery again, but their priority clearly has not disappeared. At the same time, the player’s side appears equally determined not to change direction.

Ultimately, one side’s approach is likely to gain strength based on muscle response. But either way, without the pressure of a World Cup timeline, the coming weeks could be quieter publicly but more important clinically.

If the recovery progresses well, the player camp will feel reassured. If setbacks emerge, Chelsea’s caution may seem increasingly justified. At present, neither side seems ready to move forward.

“It would be impossible” – CEO in sad mood over player’s move to Tottenham

HSV Hamburg sporting director Klaus Costa has admitted that it will be almost impossible for him to replace Luka Vuckovic when he returns. Tottenham Hotspur in this summer.

Fussball transfer covers Hamburg chief’s comments today From an interview with Hamburger Abendblatt.

Vuckovic impresses in Germany

Luka Vuckovic has been on loan with the German team since the summer and has impressed from day one.

The 19-year-old quickly established himself as a key man for the Bundesliga side, with a number of impressive performances in the center of their defence.

This is a season which is also decorated a lot. The Tottenham youngster was voted Bundesliga Player of the Season by fans so far in January, has won Bundesliga Rookie of the Month four times and has been nominated for Player and Team of the Season awards.

HSV want to keep him beyond the summer, but it has been made clear that will not happen. The general consensus is that Vuckovic has wowed the club with his performances this season.

Costa now admits that they knew he was leaving and replacing him would be an almost impossible task.

“It would be impossible to replace him with a player of his caliber, even if we have played successfully without him,” he said.

“Luca is an extraordinary player, but also an extraordinary personality. At the age of 18, he exemplifies in the dressing room the things you would normally expect from a 28-year-old player.

“Add to that the Vuckovic name and the family connection and history. Everyone was waiting for him. Only Mario can fulfill that emotional expectation, no one else.”

Tottenham or a new club?

The big question is what will happen to Luka Vuckovic after he returns to Tottenham. It seems Spurs intend to keep him, even if they are in the Championship.

But the defender’s performances this season have not gone unnoticed. Reports have already linked him to some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

And it seems his ambitions are big too. He has reportedly made it clear that he wants to move on even if Tottenham remain in the Premier League.

This has led to constant rumors and talk of a possible move, with his agent already pushing his name to Barcelona. HSV, meanwhile, will begin the difficult task of finding a replacement.

Green Bay Packers linked to pair of Pro Bowl players

The Green Bay Packers have always felt like they are capable of competing for a playoff spot. Considering they have missed a playoff berth in six of Matt LaFleur’s seven seasons as head coach, the Packers are right to feel this way.

Yet, for whatever reason, the Packers were never able to overcome adversity and compete for the Super Bowl. The last time the Lombardi Trophy came was in 2010, when Mike McCarthy led the franchise to its fourth Super Bowl victory.

Is this the year that changes? To do that, the Packers will have to be nearly perfect, which will require contributions from all 53 players on the roster and then some.

While the Packers may already have a playoff roster, Sports IllustratedEva Geitheim recently made her case for why Green Bay should still add an impact rotational edge rusher in free agency. His advice for the Packers is to target a pair of former Pro Bowl pass rushers, Jadeveon Clowney or Joey Bosa.

“The Packers have one of the best edge rushers in Micah Parsons, but the position group is thin beyond that, with Green Bay even picking up Lucas Van Ness’s fifth-year option. With it unclear when Parsons will return from his torn ACL, the Packers would be wise to bring in another edge like Joey Bosa or Jadeveon Clowney.”

SI’s Eva Geitheim on Packers’ needs

Even though he is reportedly further along in his recovery process, Parsons is working to recover from a major injury. Making some contingency plans is never a bad idea, especially for a top contender who has often been bitten badly by the injury bug.

Clowney turned 33 in February, but the former No. 1 overall pick has still been productive. Last season, he recorded 8.5 sacks with the Cowboys. The 30-year-old Bosa is a five-time Pro Bowler who has recorded at least five sacks in each of the last three seasons. Both will provide Green Bay with more pass-rushing juice.

“A ray of hope” – only the return of Manchester United will change the player’s decision

David de Gea has experienced a rebirth of sorts after leaving Manchester United. His future at Fiorentina is under threat and is attracting a lot of attention in Italy.

earlier this year, sports witness Covered the Spaniard’s comments about an Old Trafford exit. He described the break year in his career as something that changed him, helping him change his career to Florence.

He has been a regular player for two seasons and has seen ups and downs during this period.

De Gea’s current deal expires in 2028 but there are suggestions he could leave in the summer. Now it seems that only Manchester United can snatch him.

Player may wish to withdraw

Journalist Luca Calamai spoke to Caffè Nero Bolante, addressing some of the hot topics in the Florence club.

He spoke openly about De Gea’s future and suggested he was keen to stay at Fiorentina. But only a call from Manchester United would prompt him to leave in the summer.

The Italian said- via florenceviola: : “I feel like Fiorentina is a big question mark no matter which way you look at it.

“A few days ago, also thanks to the news given by Niccolo Ceccarini, we were convinced that at least with De Gea, for example, everything was decided because the player has clearly and unequivocally expressed his desire to stay in Florence, leaving only a glimpse of a return to Manchester United.”

The journalist explained that not long ago, De Gea’s future at La Viola seemed certain. But now things are not the same, Juventus is moving forward.

“Will De Gea stay? It seemed certain, but today in Turin rumors are resurfacing that De Gea is among the candidates for the Bianconeri jersey.

“There are also talks of contacts between Fiorentina and Juventus on this front, so the question is: does De Gea want to stay, but does Fiorentina want to keep him, or do they want to invest permanently in young Martinelli and save the big salary?”

In short, it seems as if everything will fall to the Spaniard. He has a long-term contract and there is no real reason for him to leave, unless a bigger club calls for him or Manchester United makes a surprise move.

no possibility of return

The future of Altay Bayindir is in doubt. His exit may leave Manchester United looking for a back-up but it is unlikely De Gea will accept that role. At Fiorentina he would get more regular first-team football.

Contract extensions planned for 4 key Green Bay Packers players

The Green Bay Packers signed wide receiver Jaden Reed to a three-year contract extension in April, ensuring that another key part of their offense will be around for years to come. With summer practice approaching, we may see contract extensions for some other Packers players.

Let’s take a look at what contract extensions could look like for Tucker Craft, Lucas Van Ness, Devonte Wyatt and Christian Watson.

tucker craft

green Bay Packers
Barry Rieger-Images

If Tucker Craft doesn’t suffer an ACL injury in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers, there’s a good chance he could have received some second-team All-Pro votes in 2025. Green Bay’s standout tight end totaled 489 receiving yards with 6 touchdowns in eight games. Among tight ends with more than 40 targets, he led his teammates in yards per reception (15.3) and yards per route run (2.56). Although there is some additional risk to Kraft due to his torn ACL, it makes sense to sign him to a long-term deal now rather than waiting until his contract expires. Given that Kyle Pitts recently signed the franchise tag at $15.045 million, the cost of an extension would likely be high. We think a four-year deal that makes Kraft one of the three highest-paid tight ends in the NFL can be accomplished, with Green Bay working in bonus structures depending on Kraft’s health.

  • Prediction: 4 years, $68 million ($17 million AAV) and $40 million total guaranteed

Selected by Green Bay with the 28th overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt has taken some time to really establish himself. He was on pace to record more than five sacks in a season for the third consecutive year before suffering a fibula and torn ligaments in his ankle. Assuming he makes a full recovery, Green Bay will have an interior pass-rushing specialist who is still a bargain at his fifth-year option salary of $13.922 million. The rate of pass-rushing interior tackles has increased in recent years, demonstrated by the fact that 13 defensive tackles now have deals worth more than $20 million per season. Realistically, should Wyatt beat out the Javon Kinlow deal ($45 million over three years) by a wide margin, Zack Siler ($21.333 million AAV) could potentially be a high-end target for a deal.

  • Prediction: 3 years, $62 million ($20.6 million AAV)

RELATED: Green Bay Packers who could be on the roster bubble in 2026

Christian Watson

green Bay Packers
mat marten-image images

It’s fair to say the Packers wish they had signed Christian Watson to a contract extension before Alec Pierce re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Watson has durability issues working against him, but he has also put up 1,231 receiving yards in his last 25 games over the past two seasons and averaged 19.2 yards per reception. He is entering a contract year and the fact that Green Bay did not use any draft capital on a receiver suggests that Brian Gutekunst has long-term plans for Watson in Matt LaFleur’s offense. We believe a deal could be reached this summer, but it would cost much more than some estimates.

  • Prediction: 3 years, $85.5 million, with $65 million total guaranteed

lucas van ness

green Bay Packers
Wm. Glasheen/USA TODAY Network-Wisconsin/via USA TODAY Network Images

Lucas Van Ness hasn’t exactly lived up to the expectations the Packers front office had for him when he was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. In 43 career games, he has only managed 34 pressures, 23 QB hits, 17 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. However, Green Bay exercised its option for the 2027 season with $13.8 million fully guaranteed. It certainly shows that the coaching staff still has a lot of confidence in him, especially after new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon took over. We think something similar could be done with Jordan Love in 2023, when he was signed to a one-year extension.

  • Prediction: 1-year, $15 million extension

Canadiens and Sabers players fined for Game 3 violence

The NHL has announced two fines following Game 3 of the second-round series between the Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres.

The first was Sabers forward Beck Malensteen, who ran down Habs goaltender Jacob Dobbs in the second period. Malenstein never attempted to stop, hitting Dobbs at full speed in what looked like a clear attempt to injure the rookie netminder.

Malensteen was fined $3,515.63, the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement.

Game 3 saw a significant increase in goalie-related moves, with the Sabers attempting to disrupt Dobbs as often as possible.

The good news for the Canadiens is that Dobbs remained in the game, and was in good enough mood to chat up the Sabers bench after Juraj Slafkowski took advantage of the ensuing power play.

Xhekaj fined

The second penalty was awarded to Habs defenseman Arbor Zekaj, who decided it was a good idea to throw a pair of gloved punches at the end of the game, and felled Sabers forward Sam Carrick at the final whistle.

It was an ugly play, and although some may justify the action by pointing to several poor plays made by the Sabers early in the game, there really is no place for that in a hockey game.

Czekaj has been particularly efficient in the playoffs, producing excellent numbers on the third pairing, meaning the Canadiens are lucky not to have to lose him due to suspension, but they must be careful not to let emotions boil over moving forward. He performs at his best when he walks the line, not when he goes past it.

4 Green Bay Packers players who could breakout in 2026

The Green Bay Packers have one of the best rosters in the NFL and will once again be one of the youngest teams in 2026. With that comes the opportunity for a breakout season, like we saw from Tucker Craft last year.

Let’s take a look at four players on the Packers’ roster who could have breakthrough seasons in 2026.

Jordan Morgan, left tackle

green Bay Packers
Mark Hoffman/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel/via USA TODAY Network Images

Taken by the Packers with the 25th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, Jordan Morgan hasn’t been much of a standout in his first two seasons. The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman played only 186 offensive snaps in his rookie season, and was rated as a below-average player in 749 snaps last season.

The real problem appears to be that the team moved him around a lot, deploying him at both left (51 snaps) and right tackle (148) and right (358) and left guard (191). This never really allowed him to settle into one spot and focus on playing, which he finally got a chance to do this offseason. Projected to be the starter at left tackle, we think Morgan can be as effective as Rasheed Walker was for Green Bay.

RELATED: Green Bay Packers who could be on the roster bubble in 2026

Trey Smack, Kicker

green Bay Packers
Kirby Lee-Images Images

The Packers’ draft class in 2026 doesn’t include anyone other than Trey Smacks, who is trusted to play the lion’s share of snaps from the jump. So, this really leaves Smack as the only newbie who can prove himself to be a fans’ favorite by the end of the season.

For one thing, it says a lot about a kicker prospect when general manager Brian Gutekunst is willing to trade multiple Round 7 picks to nab him. It’s also a testament to what Smack showed in his first practice at rookie camp that Green Bay released Brandon McManus just months after giving him a $1 million roster bonus. We echo what Matt Stover said about Smack, and we think the big impact is immediate.

Matthew Golden, wide receiver

green Bay Packers
Isaiah J. Downing-Imagen Images

Matthew Golden not seeing much on the field in his rookie season was interpreted by some as an indictment on the young pass-catcher. In reality, it speaks to the Packers’ depth at wide receiver and how the team has slowly brought in offensive weapons. Now heading into his sophomore season, we are expecting a big leap from Golden in 2026.

Consider his performance in the Wild Card round – 84 receiving yards and a touchdown on four receptions – as a glimpse of what he’s capable of. He’s demonstrated in limited snaps that he can get open (2.07 target separation, 9th in the NFL), and he’s naturally explosive. While Christian Watson and Tucker Kraft are still the primary options for Jordan Love, we think it’s possible for Golden to have over 700 receiving yards and 5-7 touchdowns.

Evan Williams, Security

green Bay Packers
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

Evan Williams is already a key piece in the Packers’ defense, and complements 24-year-old All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney nicely. We’re going to see Williams take the next step forward in his career this fall, possibly even earning his first Pro Bowl selection. Already strong against the run, Williams could set career highs in interceptions, tackles for loss and pass deflections in 2026.

Newcastle United still seeking 35-goal striker – player’s attitude could be key

Newcastle United interested in the transfer of Luis Suarez from Sporting CP
Newcastle United interested in the transfer of Luis Suarez from Sporting CP

newcastle united Sporting is taking a closer look at another striker after seeing Victor Gyökeres succeed following his move to Arsenal.

And the player attracting attention this time is Luis Suarez, who has quietly had one of the most productive seasons in Europe. And yes, he has the same name as the former Liverpool striker.

He’s not even Uruguayan – he’s Colombian. And he has scored 35 goals in 50 official matches for Sporting this season.

He has also added several assists and has become the clear attacking point of reference for manager Rui Borges’ team after arriving from Almería last summer. As replacement for Victor Gyöckeres.

Before moving to Portugal, Suárez had already shown his goalscoring ability in Spain by finishing as the second division’s top scorer during the 2024–25 season. That form has now pushed him firmly onto the Premier League radar.

to attract attention again

earlier this year, We covered Portugal’s claims Newcastle United and Liverpool mentioned as interested parties. The dust settled a bit when Sporting advanced to the Champions League knock-outs and chased Porto in the league.

Now that both the races are over, speculations have started increasing again.

and according to recordNewcastle have been making inquiries about the 28-year-old striker and have been submitting scouting reports throughout the season, especially after his performances in the Champions League.

The Portuguese newspaper reports that there is still no formal offer on the table. Sporting are also relaxed about the growing interest due to the player’s €80m (£69m) release clause, with the Lisbon side reportedly having no intention of lowering it.

Newcastle United are keeping a close eye

Luis Suarez has reportedly become a regular topic inside Newcastle’s scouting department in recent months. The Magpies are considering attacking reinforcements and see parallels between the Colombian’s rise and the path previously taken by Gyöckeres at Sporting.

However, the Record note Newcastle’s playing situation could play a factor in any final negotiations. Eddie Howe’s side are currently in mid-table and could miss out on European football next season.

It matters to Suarez. The striker reportedly wants to continue fighting for trophies and playing European football after returning to Europe’s biggest stage this season.

For now, his focus is on Sporting’s final matches of the campaign and the upcoming World Cup with Colombia, where they could face Portugal during the group stage.

confident about the situation

Despite transfer noise, reports state that Luis Suarez is happy in Lisbon and currently wants to stay at Sporting.

The forward has reportedly settled very well in Portugal and feels trusted by the club’s hierarchy, coaching staff and supporters.

The record states that stability has been particularly important during a difficult personal period, including a legal dispute involving his children from a previous marriage.

It leaves Sporting in a strong position ahead of the summer window.

The Portuguese club have a striker scoring at an elite level, a player who is not under pressure to leave, and an €80m (£69m) clause that protects them from lower offers.

Nevertheless, Newcastle’s growing interest suggests that Premier League clubs believe Suárez could follow Gyöckeres’ path and become Sporting’s next major export.

From Portugal: Aston Villa is owed €15 million with one change – the club is already preparing for the player’s exit

Aston Villa Enzo is watching a very unusual transfer series develop around Barrenchia. This is because the midfielder has barely become a permanent player at Benfica and he is already interested in another move.

last month, Portuguese reports interpreted Benfica would be willing to sell Barrenchea this summer. This would be despite previously being obliged to buy him from Aston Villa.

The logic was logical. Jose Mourinho reportedly believes the Argentine’s profile does not fully match what he wants in midfield in the long term. The Benfica manager is preferring players close to Frederic Orsnes in style.

Now the first solid lover has appeared. according to to ballValencia is closely monitoring the situation in Barrenchia. They are interested in bringing him back to Spain.

Aston Villa previously loaned him there

Barrenechea spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Valencia CF, while still contracted to Aston Villa. He enjoyed an impressive campaign there.

In fact, his performances in Spain were a major reason for Benfica to sign him in the first place. Valencia wanted to keep the midfielder permanently last year, but Benfica outbid them financially.

The Portuguese side agreed to pay €3m (£2.6m) for an initial loan. They agreed to pay a further €12m (£10.3m) Attendance requirements met. Those conditions have now officially begun.

Barrenchia has made 26 league appearances this season and logged almost 2,000 Liga Portugal minutes, meaning Aston Villa will have to pay the full €15m (£12.9m) package.

Technically, the midfielder is now simply transitioning from being an Aston Villa player to a permanent Benfica signee. Yet before that permanent chapter can even properly begin, another exit is already being discussed – and to the same club Villa previously loaned him to.

Benfica need cash – Valencia need loan

According to A Bola, Valencia are very aware of Barrencha’s current situation under Mourinho. However, the Spanish club are unwilling to match the €15m (£12.9m) that Benfica are investing in him.

Instead, Valencia would prefer another loan, this time with an option to buy. This can become a sticking point.

Benfica reportedly want an immediate cash sale this summer as Mourinho and the club hierarchy prepare to make significant changes to the squad.

It is still unclear whether Aston Villa have any sell-on percentage in the Benfica deal, although if Barreca moves again in the future they will probably take at least some small change through FIFA solidarity payments.

What happens next, however, is turning into one of the strangest transfer situations of the summer market.

Liverpool player’s agent responds to transfer claims – Reds fans ‘deserve respect’

liverpoolAlexis McAllister has not had his best campaign with the Premier League this season.

The Reds began their title defense with five consecutive wins. Since then, they have won 12 of their last 30 league matches.

Liverpool are now fourth in the table, level on points with fifth-placed Aston Villa and will finish trophy-less this season.

Last month, Paris Saint-Germain ousted the English club from the Champions League. After abolition, the Argentina international said He is unhappy because he was expecting a successful campaign for Liverpool.

McAllister has been one of the players to come under criticism and it has led to suggestions that his future at Anfield is uncertain.

The World Cup winner graduated from Boca Juniors’ youth system. He spent three years with them before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2019.

two months ago, The Reds player said He would “love” to return to River Plate at some point in the future.

Alexis McAllister will be looking to finish with a stellar performance and then join the Argentina squad for the World Cup.

His contract expires in 2028, and transfer market He is worth €80 million. If the Reds plan to extend his contract, it is unlikely to be discussed until after the World Cup.

Now his value has doubled in Roma’s eyes.

Tottenham, Newcastle United and Arsenal have taken note of his performances. There has been no formal offer but reports make it clear that Tino Livramiento’s future could be significant.

The Magpies full-back is of interest to the Gunners, Spurs and Manchester City. Only one of Livramiento or Wesley will be targeted by clubs, with other teams likely to make an push for the Roma star.

Additionally, losing the Englishman would prompt Newcastle United to look to Wesley as a replacement.

A deal for the 22-year-old would not normally be easy but the Italian side have financial concerns.

FFP issues could lead to sale

As things stand, Roma needs to make some big capital gains by the end of June. Ideally, they will sell players who joined for free and are now highly rated. However, Wesley is probably the most expensive player on their team at the moment.

Tottenham, Newcastle United and Arsenal should take note. Wesley could become a key player for all of them, adding versatility and also being smaller than Livramiento. A summer move for him would be suitable for any big club in need of an attacking fullback.

Which Barcelona players are most likely to play against Birmingham City

Birmingham City set to play Barcelona in pre-season friendly
Birmingham City set to play Barcelona in pre-season friendly

While Birmingham City fans may be excited by the prospect of a pre-season friendly match against Barcelona this year, they should temper it with an unwanted dose of reality.

Why? With the World Cup also taking place this summer, Barcelona could have a small squad heading to England in July.

A report in Spain today revealed that Barcelona are planning a two-week trip to England This summer, they will spend time at St. George’s Park in England. Before this there will be a friendly match in Nairobi and then another match in Morocco.

Plan to spend time in St. George from July 27thth till 8th Augustth. And this will include a pre-season friendly against Birmingham City during the first few days of the training camp.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blues were chosen due to their proximity to St. George’s Park.

birmingham city spirit

Naturally, this news has caused quite a bit of excitement in the city of Birmingham. Their fans are waiting for the arrival of the Catalan giants. But sadly, due to the World Cup, only a limited team of Barcelona can make this journey.

For example, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Pau Quibarsi, Fermín López, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres are likely to be in the Spain squad.

Joan Garcia could also be one of the goalkeeping options while Alejandro Balde, Eric Garcia, Mark Casado and Gavi could also get the nod.

Frenkie de Jong will also be in the Netherlands squad, while Jules Kounde should also be in the French squad. Joao Cancelo is also a regular for Portugal and Marcus Rashford is likely to be in the England squad. Raphinha will also be in the Brazilian team.

Who will be in the team?

So, that would leave Wojciech Szczesny and Diego Cochen in goal, with Andreas Christensen and Gerard Martin in defence.

Marc Bernal should be available, and Robert Lewandowski should be up front. But the latter’s contract expires this summer, and the 37-year-old has been heavily linked with a departure.

In fact, his agent is meeting Barcelona for talks this week. In recent times the Catalan media have been more inclined towards Lewandowski’s stay than before. There’s every possibility that he’s going to be the biggest star of the show.

Various players could also return from loan deals, such as Hector Forte, Iñaki Pena and Ansu Fati. But this remains to be seen.

Now apparently the World Cup is ending on 19th JulythTherefore the above absent players will not be in the tournament at that time. But the trip to England is only eight days after the final. Therefore, if Spain, one of the favourites, gets that far, a big contingent will be missing.

Of course, this is just speculation at this point. But Birmingham City fans may want to curb any hopes of seeing Barcelona’s full, current squad at St Andrews.

“That’s just the way I am” – The World Cup won’t make it any easier for Manchester United players

Manchester United Midfielder Casemiro has now put to rest any doubts about his future, confirming in his own words that his time at Old Trafford is coming to an end.

Casemiro arrives at Manchester United in 2022 after a trophy-laden spell at Real Madrid. He soon became a leader in midfield and helped bring silverware back to Old Trafford by winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Speaking in an extensive interview with espn brazilCasemiro made it clear there will be no extension At Manchester United.

“I don’t think there’s any chance of staying another year, no possibility. The idea is to go out the front door. It’s been four beautiful, wonderful years, and I’m grateful not only to the club, but also to the fans. If there’s one thing I’ll take with me from these four years, it’s the fans. But no, I think it’s over. My cycle here is over.” He said.

A few moments later, he reiterated that decision and explained that he now sees it as the right time to move on.

“I’m moving into a new phase of my career. I still have to decide where I’ll go, but I want to go well, go happily. I will always be a United supporter here in England and I can only thank the fans for their affection.” He added.

four years in manchester

His time at the club was not straightforward. Injuries and tactical changes diminished his influence at some points. In early 2025, he also lost his place under Ruben Amorim. Yet he responded as would be expected from a player of his level.

Casemiro worked hard to return to the team and performed strongly. He played a key role in the final stages of the season, including an appearance in the Europa League Final, and reminded many of his importance. That reaction is something he views as one of his greatest personal accomplishments.

“I kept working, I kept trying to show the manager he was wrong about me. I could have accepted it and moved on, but I didn’t. I worked to change his mind and I managed to do that. That might be one of my greatest accomplishments.” he explained.

a goal scoring farewell

That’s also reflected in the strong closing numbers. Casemiro is enjoying the best scoring season of his career, with nine goals so far. He has also stayed away from injuries since 2023, which has helped him maintain consistency and rhythm.

Still, he remains clear about his priorities on the field.

“My son asks me: ‘Dad, are you going to score today?’ I tell him I’m a defensive midfielder. The first job is to defend, to help the centre-backs, full-backs, midfielders. If I can score then it’s a bonus. But first comes the defensive work and giving balance to the team.” He said.

He also pointed to the collective effort behind those contributions.

“It all depends on the team. People see the last touch, the goals, the defending, but everything starts somewhere else. In attack, it starts with the goalkeeper. In defence, it starts with the striker. Even if I score, it is the team’s job.” He added.

Emotional farewell and mentality till the end

As his Manchester United chapter comes to a close, Casemiro acknowledged the emotional significance of the moment. Leaving a club is something he has experienced before, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

“You have to get through the front door. It’s always something I’ve tried to do at every club. It’s emotional. With every game, you feel it more. You have that feeling in your chest, but it’s been beautiful. The matches, the training, the daily work – it’s been a really good story, especially this end,” He reflected.

He went even further in describing how he was experiencing these final moments.

“It’s almost too perfect, this exit. I’m enjoying it a lot. I’m really enjoying what I’m living at a big club like United.” He added.

Despite knowing he would be leaving, his competitive mindset hasn’t changed.

“I’ve always been like that and I think I’ll always be like that. Whether it’s one minute or ninety minutes, every day when I go to bed I want to feel like I gave everything. We all know I’m going, we know the World Cup is coming, but that’s who I am – giving everything on the field, even when I can’t give anything else.” He said.

The decision has now shifted to the next destination

Casemiro also made it clear that his next move will be carefully decided, with his family playing a key role in the process. As we recently coveredMLS could be his destination.

“The priority is to talk to my family and see what they want. When I decided to come to Manchester United, they were the first to support me. They always say they will be happy wherever we go, but now this decision is very important and I need to make it together with them.” he explained.

He stressed the importance of that option.

“This is a very important decision for me now. I still need to analyze everything carefully.” He added.

Also, he highlighted the positive moment he is experiencing.

“Things are going really well for me. It was a great end to the season and a great season overall.” He said.

The situation is now completely defined. This comes straight from the player himself, closing a four-year chapter and opening the door to the next phase of his career.

“Oh my God” – regret over Sunderland transfer, Black Cats players smell of alcohol

Sunderland

Andrea Dossena’s tenure was for one year SunderlandBut he is not entirely happy with his time there.

The transfer of the Stadium of Light to Italy took place in 2013. This happened just after the former defender performed well at Napoli, helping them return to the Champions League and also win the Coppa Italia.

Dossena’s tenure at Sunderland ended with him playing only seven Premier League games, including three FA Cup appearances. At one point, he also played for the U21s team.

Description of toxic environment

Dosena said this transfer market In a detailed interview and looks at many aspects of his playing career.

Although he spoke enthusiastically about Liverpool, this was not the case for Sunderland. He gave details about the dressing room atmosphere and training at that time.

He said: “Oh my God. Some players would come to training smelling of last night’s alcohol. I didn’t have a good relationship with my coach. [Gus] Poet.”

Dossena also reveals how Paolo Di Canio moved and the shortcomings of the poet’s methods. Sunderland’s instability held them back.

“When I arrived, Di Canio was there. He sent me to Rome to get treatment for the injury, and when I came back to England I couldn’t find him. They had argued during a meeting and Poet had come in his place. I remember they never let us watch the match again to analyze it.

Sunderland symbolized Dossena’s downfall

By the end of his time at Napoli, Dossena had become a minor player. He was loaned to Palermo but things did not work out there either.

Sunderland’s spell defined Dossena’s fall from grace. As well as the club’s problems, the former Italy international was never seen as an important player.

That’s why his stay only lasted one season and after that he ended up at League One side Leyton Orient. Even there, he was not a regular.

4 Green Bay Packers players who could be on the roster bubble in 2026

The Green Bay Packers will enter the 2026 NFL season with a roster that, when healthy, will have everyone in the organization capable of making the Super Bowl. However, some of the Packers’ offseason moves could also mean that some recognizable names will not be on the roster in Week 1.

Let’s take a look at the list of four players who will not be on the Packers’ roster at the start of the season.

Luke Musgrave, tight end

green Bay Packers
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

A few years ago, it looked as if Luke Musgraves would be the Packers’ TE1 for the upcoming season. Instead, it’s Tucker Craft who looks like an All-Pro talent. Musgrave’s status in Green Bay became so questionable that he came up in NFL trade rumors during the season. Then, Kraft and John Fitzpatrick suffered season-ending injuries. Kraft will return for training camp, and Josh Whately is behind him. It would not be a surprise at all if general manager Brian Gutekunst attempted to move Musgraves to a blocking tight end.

Brandon McManus, kicker

green Bay Packers
Matt Marten-Images Images

It says a lot if the Packers are willing to trade up multiple draft picks to land a kicker moving up in Round 6. Brandon McManus received a $1 million roster bonus this offseason, but his injuries last season and his miss in the wild-card round put him on the hot seat. If rookie Trey Smack can take advantage of his immense power and demonstrate relatively consistent accuracy on his kicks in training camp, McManus could certainly be a part of the final 53-man roster cutdown.

Christian Welch, linebacker

green Bay Packers
Wm. Glasheen via USA TODAY Network-Wisconsin/USA TODAY Network Images

Green Bay certainly has a lot more depth at linebacker than in years past. Unfortunately for former UDFA Christian Welch, the Wisconsin native’s only hope of remaining in Green Bay may lie on the practice squad. He appeared in eight games for Green Bay last season, primarily on special teams. There is every possibility that he will be cut in September and given a spot on the practice squad.

Marshon Lloyd, running back

green Bay Packers
Jovanni Hernandez/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel/via USA TODAY Network Images

Since being selected with the 88th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Packers running back Marshon Lloyd has appeared in just one game with the team. Injuries never allowed him to prove himself at any point. Theoretically, Lloyd would be a perfect fit to step into the No. 2 role behind Josh Jacobs for the upcoming season. It’s just his inability to stay healthy that leads us to believe that something, possibly a soft-tissue injury, will sideline him during the summer. If this happens again, Green Bay may decide to cut their losses and move on.

Tottenham player’s agent holds preliminary talks over summer exit – Spurs’ future uncertain

near barcelona Tottenham HotspurLuka Vuckovic is on their target list for the summer.

The Premier League side allowed the centre-back to join Hamburg SV on loan in August, and he has starred for them this season.

In fact, the Tottenham man has been a standout player for the Bundesliga side, where he has made 26 appearances.

The centre-back made 25 of those starts before suffering a setback in April. He regained full fitness and came off the bench in his team’s 2–1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Hamburg lost three matches and conceded nine goals in the 19-year-old’s absence. This will give an idea of his importance for the German club. His performances have attracted the attention of several European sides, including Barcelona.

Barcelona approach for Tottenham man

sky germany The La Liga winners have set their sights on Luka Vuckovic in their efforts to improve the defence, according to reports.

Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is the main target for the centre-back position and last week, Sport Witness Covered claims from Spain Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Romero is their plan B.

It is unclear where the Croatia international stands in the pecking order, but the Catalan club have held first talks with his representatives. Agent Pini Zahavi, who also represents both Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick, manages the defender.

Hamburg SV have a desire to extend their stay after this season. he has talked about his dream Of playing with his brother Mario, who is in the Bundesliga team.

He is serving a doping ban until November and extending Luka’s loan stay could help him achieve his dream next season. However, this will not be easy given the interest from top clubs.

Sorting out Spurs’ future needs

As things stand, Luka Vuckovic’s future after this season remains uncertain and is unlikely to be at Hamburg SV.

last month, the guard said When asked about his future plans, he said he has a contract at Tottenham Hotspur until 2030.

Vuskovic’s Agent Pini Zahavi insisted A decision on his future will be made at the end of the season. Roberto De Zerbi could push for a transfer if his side are relegated.

Los Angeles Chargers Working Out Pro Bowl Players

General manager Joe Hortiz recently completed his second draft with the Los Angeles Chargers. Hortiz added eight new players to head coach Jim Harbaugh’s roster during the three-day draft event, including Miami’s Akhim Messidor with the 22nd overall selection in the first round.

Not surprisingly, the Chargers placed a heavy emphasis on rebuilding in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Six of the team’s eight draft selections were either offensive linemen or defensive linemen. The other two were used at a wide receiver and a safety, but the team did not select any tight ends to compete with or pursue Oronde Gadsden and free agency arrival Charlie Kolar.

However, the Chargers have indicated a desire to boost their tight end room. On Monday, the Chargers will bring in former Cleveland Browns running back David Njoku for a workout.

Njoku’s contract with the Browns expired this offseason and the one-time Pro Bowler not surprisingly faced a strong market. Still only 29 years old, Njoku is coming off a poor season where he recorded only 293 yards and four touchdowns. In 2023, Njoku posted a career-high 882-yard, six-touchdown campaign.

While he likely won’t return to his peak form with the Chargers, Njoku would give Justin Herbert another reliable weapon on a team that could use more playmakers.

Multiple players taken out of Hurricanes Game 1 shutout win over Flyers

Logan Stankoven is currently the living, breathing embodiment of the chaos and suffocation that the Carolina Hurricanes are known for.

Their second line was the first line on the board against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night, as it has in every game this postseason. It was Stankoven who scored the first goal just 1:31 into the game – the third-fastest playoff goal in franchise history – as he extended his postseason-opening goal-streak to five, becoming the youngest player in NHL history to do so.

The next goal came off the stick of Jackson Blake at exactly 7:30 in the first period, helping Stankoven earn his second point of the game. Assists came from Taylor Hall and Mike Reilly, who interestingly scored his second point of the game, also assisting on Stankoven’s goal.

As for Reilly, who was filling in for Alexander Nikishin after he failed to clear the NHL’s concussion protocol, he had only 1:42 of ice time in three shifts when he played a crucial second game to help the Hurricanes advance. It was his first multi-point game since December 23, 2023, when he was with the New York Islanders – ironically, they were playing against the Hurricanes.

The third and final goal of the game was, once again, Stankoven’s – the goal came on a wonderful pass from Seth Jarvis, assisted by Andrei Svechnikov. Stankoven had just come off the bench, and fell down while doing so, but that little mishap put him in the right place at the right time to find the back of the net.

When play resumed after the goal, Stankoven wasted no time in trying to get a hat trick – firing the puck over Flyers goaltender Dan Vladar immediately after winning the following faceoff. He didn’t get that third goal, but the Snapperjacks certainly tried, tying Sean Couturier on goal for a game-leading five shots.

Frederik Andersen earns second shutout of postseason campaign

However, Stankoven certainly wasn’t the only standout in the match.

Throughout his 60 minutes on the ice, Frederik Andersen turned away every shot he faced en route to a 19-save shutout. During an empty-net situation, he also responsibly missed a potential goaltender’s chance with clear ice ahead. He may have taken a tripping penalty against Porter Marton, but he produced an incredibly disciplined performance in the Hurricanes’ 3–0 win.

Saturday night is fight night’

A melee broke out at the Lenovo Center, slowly moving from silly to downright chaotic. In the first period, Nick Seiler playfully grabbed Jordan Martinook’s stick and appeared to hit himself in the face on the Flyers power play…somehow.

Later, the aforementioned Marton trip from Andersen came when Jakob Slavin slid straight into the net.

But then, things turned dangerous.

In the final minute of the second period, Andrei Svechnikov took a hit on rookie Martone in a board battle for the puck, and Tyson Foster took a hard hit to the back of Andrei Svechnikov’s right knee – the same knee that required surgery to repair a torn ACL in the 2022–23 season.

Svechnikov remained down due to Hurricanes head athletic trainer Doug Bennett running onto the ice, and the game was called for a five-minute major before review reduced it to a two-minute minor. Thankfully, Svechnikov did not go down the tunnel and was able to finish the game.

However, this was not the end of things. Rough penalties were given throughout the final frame, and an altercation between Jackson Blake and Trevor Zegras resulted in both of them receiving 10-minute misconducts with 8:14 left. It was the first misconduct of Jackson Blake’s NHL career, and the second misconduct of Zegras’ postseason following a Game 4 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in Round One.

Less than two minutes later, Shayne Gostisbehere and Seiler were both given 10-minute misconducts for their moment of scuffling after an offside whistle.

By the end of the game, both teams had a combined 34 penalty minutes, equaling 68.

storm game notes

The Carolina Hurricanes are the fifth team in NHL history not to trail in their first five playoff games. The Washington Capitals were the last to do so in the 1986 postseason campaign, extending their series to six games.

With his sixth goal of the postseason, Logan Stankoven tied Matt Boldy and Brandon Hagel for the leaguewide lead. Both Boldy and Hagel have played one more game than Stankoven.

Of the 14 goals scored by the Hurricanes this postseason, 10 had at least one second-row player (Stankoven, Blake, Hall) on the scoresheet.

Notching his 24th postseason win with the Hurricanes, Anderson passed Cam Ward for most playoff wins in franchise history. Additionally, with his fourth postseason shutout with the Hurricanes, Anderson tied Ward for the most in franchise history. Rock on, Freddy.

Canadians need more from their star players to survive

The Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning have yet to play a playoff game decided by two goals.

Most of the contest went into overtime, which is a testament to how evenly matched the Habs and Bolts have been throughout the series.

While the teams prepare for their decisive Game 7 on Sunday, all the remaining playoff series have already been decided. The Eastern Conference semifinals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers begins on Saturday night.

But when we consider that they didn’t get any 5v5 contributions from their first line, the mere fact that the Canadiens managed to extend the series to seven games is quite an accomplishment.

And this is not an exaggeration.

Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkowski have not managed to score a single goal at 5v5, a huge blow for a team that typically relies on its top trio to drive the offensive attack.

Montreal Canadiens Brass Tacks

Friday night was probably the best night of the first row from a statistical standpoint. Head coach Martin Saint-Louis made some lineup modifications, meaning Slafkovsky was not always used alongside Suzuki and Caufield, but in his 10 minutes of ice time at 5v5, he controlled 58% of shots and 50% of high-quality scoring opportunities.

However, at this point in the chain, the process needs to make way for results.

If the Canadiens lose on Sunday, and the first line fails to make an impact at 5v5, very few people will care that they have improved their underlying numbers throughout the series. For many fans and analysts this will be considered a failure of the season, even though you can argue that the Canadiens are well ahead of their long-term rebuilding plans.

Fair or not, fans want to see continued improvement, and if the team fails to make much noise in the playoffs, they’ll be very quick to forget Suzuki’s 100-point season, or Caufield’s 50-goal campaign.

Such is life for the highest-paid players in the lineup.

The good news for Canadians is that they perform at their best with their backs against the wall.

A certain level of adversity has produced great results for the league’s youngest team. Although this is not an ideal approach, the consequences are hard to overestimate.

If the players who typically provide secondary and tertiary scoring respond in adversity, the Canadiens will be in good position.

If their top line responds strongly, Montreal will be very difficult to beat.

All Montreal Canadiens stats are 5v5, via Natural Stat Trick, unless otherwise noted.

Who are the 10 best 125 players in the world?

The UFC flyweight rankings showcase the best fighters in the 125-pound division. Although this weight class often doesn’t get the respect it deserves, it has always contained some of the best and fastest MMA fighters on the planet. With that in mind, here is the official SportsNut Top 10 for the organization’s flyweight divisions.

10. Steve Erceg (14-4)

steve erceg
jason silva-imagen images

Australian Steve Erceg has gotten off to a fast start in the UFC by scoring three consecutive wins. The overall 11-fight win streak earned him a title shot against then-champion Alexandre Pantoja two years ago. However, “Astroboy” struggled in the deep end of the flyweight pool. Losing to the Brazilian and then losing against top five fighters in his next two matches.

However, they have bounced back with some important wins. The most recent case came in May against top-15 veteran Tim Elliott. The wins have helped him climb back into our UFC flyweight rankings.

9. Loner Kavanaugh (10-1)

ufc flyweight rankings
Per Haljestam-Imagen Images

Despite a 3-1 record in the UFC, England’s Lon’er Kavanagh has earned a spot in our latest UFC flyweight rankings. That’s thanks to a huge upset win over division stalwart Brandon Moreno in March. The 26-year-old arrived at short notice and had to adjust to the high altitude of Mexico City, yet it didn’t matter as he secured a career-defining victory over the former champion in his hometown.

Sam Navarro-Imagen Images

Former M1 and Brave CF star Asu Almabayev enters the UFC riding a streak of 13 consecutive wins. He extended his hot streak inside the Octagon by winning his first four fights and scoring victories over top 15 fighters Matthias Nicolau and Odd Osbourne. Unfortunately, when they took a big step forward in the competition against Manel Cape in March, they suffered their first defeat in eight years.

However, he has bounced back from the setback with two wins, including a big submission victory over top-15 veteran Alex Perez in November.

7. Brandon Royval (17-9)

ufc flyweight rankings
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Brandon Royval has quietly been one of the best 125-pound fighters in the world for quite some time. Although he has fallen short in some big fights, he has some impressive wins, including a victory over former division king Brandon Moreno.

However, fighting the best comes with constant risk. At UFC 317, he accepted the challenge of rising star Joshua Van and surprisingly lost to the 23-year-old. Then, in December, he headlined a UFC Fight Night card against dangerous striker Manel Cape and was on the wrong end of the first knockout loss of his career.

6. Brandon Moreno (22-10-2)

ufc flyweight rankings
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Few flyweights have been better than Brandon Moreno. He has been involved in some of the greatest fights in the history of the division and is a two-time champion. However, for all legends there comes a father’s time and he has been looking over the Mexican’s shoulder in recent years.

Moreno was up 3-2 in his home country against potential loanee Kavanagh and needed a win to stay in title contention. Unfortunately, he was on the wrong end of a stunning upset in Mexico City. There is a real possibility that this was the last time fans saw Moreno in the Octagon.

5. Kyoji Horiguchi (36-5)

ufc flyweight rankings
Ed Mulholland-Imagen Images

Since leaving the UFC nearly a decade ago, Kyoji Horiguchi has had a stellar run outside the company and has long been viewed as the best flyweight outside of the UFC. In November 2025, the former dual Rizin and Bellator champion made his triumphant return to the promotion with an impressive decision win over Tagir Ulanbekov.

The Japanese star returned in February and faced a tough test from Amir Albazi. However, he once again defeated one of the better flyweights in the world. After his latest win, Horiguchi could be one win away from a title shot in 2026.

4. Manel Cape (22-7)

ufc flyweight rankings
Troy Taormina-Imagen Images

It hasn’t always been easy for Manel Kapp in the UFC, but “Starboy” remains one of the most exciting fighters in the division. In his last eight fights he is 7-1 with five finishes. The biggest flaw in his Octagon resume was the lack of a marquee win. Well, he got it in December.

In a UFC Fight Night headlining role, he defeated top five veteran Brandon Royval and Cape scored a major first round knockout victory. He’s as close as ever to a title shot in 2026.

3. Joshua Vann (16-2) – Champion

ufc flyweight rankings
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Joshua Vann has quietly put in an impressive performance in the Octagon. At UFC 317, he got his big opportunity in a clash with top-five veteran Brandon Royval and earned a hard-fought career-defining decision victory. The win earned the Myanmar native a championship opportunity at UFC 323.

In the card’s co-main event, he became the second youngest champion, but it was bittersweet when Pantoja suffered a non-contact injury to his elbow, leading to an immediate end to the fight in Round 1. He’s the new king of the division, but he didn’t earn the top spot in that fight.

2. Tatsuro Taira (18-1) – Top Contender

ufc flyweight rankings
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

It has been a very long time since Japan has had a fighter represent the country at the highest level of the sport. However, former Shooto champion Tatsuro Taira finally has a real chance to become the first UFC champion from the land of the rising sun.

After nine bouts, he is 8–1 with one very narrow loss to Brandon Royal. However, at UFC 323, he potentially pushed himself to a title opportunity in 2026 with a big TKO win over division veteran Brandon Moreno.

1. Alexandre Pantoja (30-6)

ufc flyweight rankings
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Brazil’s Alexandre Pantoja has had a long, difficult journey to become the UFC flyweight king. He worked hard inside the division for several years before finally being able to win a title fight at UFC 290. In his first opportunity to become champion, he performed well by scoring his second (third unofficial) victory over division king Brandon Moreno.

Since then he has been on a steady rise and has earned himself the spotlight as one of the top 125 players of all time. At UFC 317, he extended his win streak to eight consecutive with another dominant victory, this time over Kai Kara-France. Pantoja has a case for being the best flyweight ever not named Demetrious Johnson.

Piero Hincapie is likely to be in contention to start for Arsenal in their Champions League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

The first leg will take place in the Spanish capital and before this tie, there will be Tuesday’s edition As has published an interview with the 24-year-old.

AS explains that ahead of his move to Arsenal, the La Liga giants had shown interest.

When asked if he was aware of transfer links, the player is happy to choose Mikel Arteta’s side.

“I don’t look at social media much. I talk to my agent,” He said.

“At the time of the negotiations, I don’t know if there was really a concrete offer or not, but it’s also amazing that so many important clubs want you on their roster. Thank God I chose this great club with a great coach.”

On Monday, the defender’s Arsenal teammates, Cristian Mosquera, revealed Interest from Madrid club before joining the Gunners last summer.

On his adaptation to the North London club, Hincapie explained: “The truth is that everything went very well from the beginning. They helped me adapt quickly. In the beginning, it is always a new challenge, with new players, new staff, and I think I have adapted in the best way. I want to continue to prove myself.”

Odegaard’s absence due to injuries

Mikel Arteta may select Martin Edgard for the first leg against Atletico, as the Norway international has struggled with repeated injuries this season.

AS asked the Ecuadorian how Edgard’s presence and absence affects Arsenal.

“The truth is that he is a player with exceptional qualities. Obviously, he gives us a lot in attack.” He added.

“But we have a very big team, so any player who plays in his position can do it very well. With different qualities but still helping us. I don’t think it affects us at all, but we miss a player with those qualities on the pitch.”

“Close to anarchy” – concerns in Portugal over player’s Chelsea transfer

chelsea’s Giovanni Quenda’s plans focus mainly on growth, recovery and long-term integration. However, not everyone in Portugal is on board with the idea that Stamford Bridge is the right next step.

The 18-year-old has just returned to action for Sporting after being out for almost four months fractured fifth metatarsal. Chelsea oversaw his recovery in Londonprepared him physically and essentially Started preparing him for Premier League life Before he officially arrived.

Now he’s back, fit, sharp to press for minutes in decisive matches. Naturally, the focus is again turning to what happens next.

And in Portugal some people have very raised eyebrows.

Concerns increased in Portugal after withdrawal

called out in an opinion article “Don’t lose yourself, Kwenda.” published by to ballExecutive editor Fernando Urbano does not hold back in his assessment of Quenda’s move to Chelsea.

He starts off with praise, making it clear what kind of talent we’re dealing with.

“Players like Giovani Kwenda are becoming rare. He is courageous, he takes on defenders and embraces one-on-ones in a way that is increasingly uncommon.”

Then comes the twist.

“I fear that the decision to go to Chelsea could be a very bad choice. For him and, as a consequence, for the national team.”

Urbano outlined the context of Cuenda’s recent months at Sporting, before his arrival at Chelsea.

The winger was a key part of the club’s title-winning campaign last season. However, this year has been more complicated. The injury kept him out for almost four months and Sporting missed him.

There were also moments when Jenny Katamo took advantage of the situation and dropped Kwenda from the starting eleven.

Even now, there are signs that the player is still working to get back to full intensity. Urbano points to the recent match at Dragao, where the winger’s lack of explosiveness was noticeable after a long layoff.

At the same time, Portuguese journalists highlight a major strength in Quenda’s profile. Under both Rubén Amorim and Rui Borges, he developed strong defensive awareness, playing as a wing-back in a 3–4–3 system. That tactical background could prove valuable in England.

Chelsea’s criticism deepens

The logic behind the concern is not new, but it is clearly stated.

“For many years now, the London club has been run like a computer game, where money is plentiful and standards are scarce.”

Urbano also expands on that idea by pointing to the widespread Bleuco model, where players are often moved between clubs like Strasbourg without clear long-term direction.

There is also a widespread perception that Chelsea lack stability at the moment.

“It is in this context, close to anarchy, that Kwenda will come,” he writes, describing a club he sees as having an identity crisis.

According to Urbano, the current situation has reminded fans of the Roman Abramovich era, when the club felt more structured and decisive.

A ‘lottery’ with high ceilings

Giovanni Quenda’s condition has been described as precarious rather than catastrophic, but there is no sugar coating this.

“When the season starts, there may be 30 to 40 players reporting to Stamford Bridge, and there will be at least four or five players competing for his place.”

“It will be a lottery for Kwenda,” Urbano says. At the same time, there is a clear acknowledgment of the reversal, almost as a warning and a compliment.

“But if he comes out on top, it will be a testament to life – being successful in that environment will mean he can be successful anywhere.”

In other words, survive Chelsea and you can survive anything.

Context remains important for Chelsea

Giovani Quenda would not be arriving at Chelsea under normal circumstances. The club invested approximately £43.5 million (€50 million+), took control of his recovery, and have already begun to prepare him physically and mentally for what is to come.

This is the club version of the story. The tone from Portugal is more cautious. There is praise for the player, but there is a lot of doubt about the environment in which he is stepping.

For now, Kwenda’s job is simple. Get minutes, regain full intensity and finish the season strong with Sporting.

Very little can be predicted as to what will happen next. And if Urbano is right, it may depend as much on the chaos around him as on his own talent.

The 20 best players available after Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, including Jermod McCoy

Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books, and there were some surprising moves made on Thursday night. There were several players projected to make the top 32 who would remain on the board in Round 2. Before the second night of the draft, let’s take a look at the 20 best players still set to go in this week’s NFL Draft.

Denzel Boston, WR, Washington

nfl draft
Rick Osentoski-Imagen Images

Washington receiver Denzel Boston still needs some time to develop, but he could be a star at the next level. He has a very good start, good speed, is effective at winning jump balls and competitive pass battles, and is a problem in the red zone.

Still, there are concerns about his ability to stay away from press coverage. This is a major reason why he was not taken in Round 1.

Zion Young, Edge, Missouri

nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Missouri EDGE runner Zion Young could be a difference maker at the next level. He has good size and strength which proves valuable in driving passes and blowing up run blocks. Plus, he’s a dog who brings fiery energy to the field and locker room.

Young’s biggest shortcomings are his speed, range, and limited moves when trying to shed pass blockers. At the very least, he can contribute immediately as a run stopper.

Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee

nfl draft
Angelina Alcantar/News Sentinel/via USA TODAY Network Images

After a big sophomore season, where he earned Second-Team All-American honors, Tennessee corner Jermod McCoy was sidelined his junior year after tearing his ACL. If not, he likely would have been a first-rounder this week.

McCoy is a very good athlete who shows explosiveness and quick feet. He has also proven that he has good instincts for breaking up passes and getting interceptions. However, he struggles against faster receivers and when he goes for passes against stronger opposition.

CJ Allen, LB, Georgia

nfl draft
Dell Janine-Imagen Images

The best way to summarize Georgia linebacker CJ Allen is extremely solid. His athleticism and highlight reel don’t demand attention. However, he is a smart player who helps elevate the talent around him as a very good “green dot” leader on defense. He is not great in any one area, nor is he a liability. Allen can be a reliable three-down linebacker.

Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee

nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood had the potential to go in the first round. However, he still needs to improve his coverage techniques and instincts. Additionally, he is very good in press coverage as he uses his physical ability to outmaneuver opposing wide receivers. The same aggression proves valuable in stopping the run as well. With development, Hood could be an impressive cornerback at the next level.

Chase Bisontis, G, Texas A&M

nfl draft
Jerome Miron-Imagen Images

Texas A&M guard Chase Bissontis is one of the better players at his position in this year’s class. He’s a talented run blocker with good footwork, above-average strength, and brings out a nasty streak when needed. However, he did not go into Round 1 due to concerns about his pass blocking as he has shown problems to opponents.

Bisontis still has a lot of potential and can definitely be a worthwhile starter in the NFL.

Jeremy Bernard, WR, Alabama

nfl draft
nelson chenault-imagen images

Alabama wide receiver Jermaine Bernard brings some nice tools to the team that selects him in the NFL Draft. He is a smooth route runner with good size and acceleration. He can play outside or become a matchup problem in the slot.

The biggest issues with Bernard’s game are that he does not play commensurate with his size (6-foot-1 and 206 pounds) while struggling for balls in the air, and he is not a player who will stretch the field at an above-average level.

Kaden McDonald, DT, Ohio State

Syndication: The Columbus Dispatch
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch/USA TODAY Network via Images

Many thought five Ohio State players could go in Round 1 of the NFL Draft on Thursday. However, defensive tackle Kaden McDonald was not called among the first 32 picks. That doesn’t mean he can’t become an impact player at the next level soon.

McDonald is not a tackle with real rush value, but he has shown he can be a high-level talent in stopping the run as he has natural leverage and sends shock waves to interior linemen during initial contact. The OSU star has also proven that he is very good at finding the ball carrier and making tackles.

Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo

nfl draft
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

In the right system, Toledo’s Emmanuel McNeil-Warren has star potential in the NFL. Often lined up in the box as a safety, he has consistently shown ability as a run-stopping difference-maker and an enforcer through the middle. Although he has solid coverage skills, he will still need to defend against mismatches with speedy burners on the outside.

Mike Washington Jr., RB, Arkansas

NFL: Combine
kirby lee-image images

Arkansas running back Mike Washington Jr. has consistently improved at each stop. His speed and breakaway ability are his trademarks and can cause problems lining up when moving through interior traffic. However, he struggles to get to the hole quickly, fouls are a problem, and while he has good size (6-foot-1 and 223 pounds), he lacks the necessary composure when blocking. He could be a nice rotation addition at the next level.

R Mason Thomas, OLB, Oklahoma

nfl draft
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Oklahoma’s R Mason Thomas has impressive speed and the ability to explode off the edge and slip into gaps in the offensive line. He also has better than expected power when he gets forward. However, when he has to stand 10 feet under and go to battle with a bigger, taller blocker, his game show looks go berserk. Still, he can definitely become an impact player in a few years.

Cassius Howell, OLB, Texas A&M

NFL: Combine
kirby lee-image images

Texas A&M linebacker Cassius Howell could be an immediate difference-maker in the NFL as an EDGE rusher. He has a great first burst, is elusive, and owns a nasty spin move. Still, he needs to improve his handwork and his strength to better deal with run blockers and set the edge properly. But at the very least, he can be a designated player early in his career.

Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas

NCAA Football: Texas and Kentucky
Jordan Prather-Imagen Images

Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. could be a Pro Bowler in a few years. He’s smart, has the power to blow up run plays, and the speed to hold his own in coverage or move from sideline to sideline. The bigger issue was that most of their success came from a lot of run-blitz calls. He also needs to work on disguising his attacks and missed a surprising number of tackles two years ago.

Brandon Sissay, CB, South Carolina

nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

South Carolina cornerback Brandon Cisse is an explosive athlete who is strong and has good length to intercept passes. But his impressive athleticism has masked some of his technical and instinctive shortcomings at the college level. That’s pretty much a next level project. However, he has the highest ceiling compared to other players at this point in the NFL Draft.

Lee Hunter, DT, Texas Tech

NFL: Combine
kirby lee-image images

Texas Tech nose tackle Lee Hunter could be a strong anchor on a 3-4 defensive line. While he needs development in his block-shedding techniques and winning in the gap, at 6-foot-3, 318 pounds and with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, he’s quite good at run-stuffing the middle. For now, he estimates it’s primarily an early-down threat.

Emmanuel Pregnon, G, Oregon

nfl draft
Chris Pietsch/The Register-Guard/USA TODAY Network via Imagine Images

In a run-heavy attack, Oregon’s Emmanuel Pregnon would be a very nice addition in Round 2. The 6-foot-4, 314-pounder is durable, experienced, and is a nasty downhill blocker due to his upper body strength. Not surprisingly, his lack of quickness in pass blocking is a notable issue. But he is a smart and consistent player.

Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech

NFL: Combine
kirby lee-image images

Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez entered the college ranks as an offensive tackle, but has reached the next level as a very productive tackling machine. He has good explosion and is difficult to catch on blocks because he focuses on quick ball handlers. Despite his production, he drops to Round 2 as he has trouble with big blockers and can often be fooled due to misdirection and play actions.

Avion Terrell, CB, Clemson

nfl draft
kirby lee-image images

Avion Terrell, brother of 2020 Atlanta Falcons first-round pick AJ Terrell, is a good athlete who moves well and is at his best in press-man coverage. While he struggles against larger receivers due to his size (5-foot-10 and 186 pounds), he is good at getting upset at the catch. He plans to be a very good nickelback early in his career.

Eli Stowers, TE, Vanderbilt

Syndication: Tennessean
Mark Zaleski/The Tennessean/USA TODAY Network via Imagen Images

Vanderbilt tight end Eric Stowers is a former quarterback with a lot of potential. He has great hands and is an exceptional athlete. He can also beat downfield linebackers with his speed and is strong on his breaks. But he still needs a lot of development in his route running and isn’t a strong enough run blocker for a position where that’s a critical need.

Zacharias Branch, WR, Georgia

nfl draft
Erton Breckenridge/Clarion Ledger/USA TODAY via Network Images

Georgia’s Zachariah Branch can turn routine plays into explosive plays due to his breakaway speed. He is much stronger than he looks and has shown his toughness on several occasions. He needs work on his route running, but offers the option to become a returner as he develops his skills.

Player’s father unhappy with Liverpool transfer failure – mediator trying to set up PL move

denzel dumfries

liverpool Attempted to sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan in January. All hope may not be lost for the Reds, as the wing-back is pushing for a move to England.

The Dutchman missed several games due to injury at the beginning of this season.

Then Liverpool came forward for him. sports witness This approach was covered, with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta also speaking publicly about the move.

A deal never materialized, probably because Inter could not find a replacement in time.

Some of the background surrounding Dumfries is now emerging and it seems those around him are pushing for a Premier League transfer.

Dumfries has a dream of England

IT migration market A deeper dive into the 29-year-old’s situation makes it clear the Dumfries father was unhappy with his move to Liverpool.

Since the Nerazzurri wing-back left Wasserman, it is his father Boris who is his sole agent. And since then, he has been trying to help his son get his ‘dream move’ to England.

He has also instructed the agents and middlemen to achieve that goal.

Jorge Mendes and Ali Barrat are also in the works and they tried to keep him in the Premier League in January. This brought Liverpool forward and there is every possibility that something will happen in the summer too.

Despite this, Inter is sleeping deeply. They will not regret losing him and will even accept it Selling him for €20m, while his release clause is €25m.

This should give hope to the Reds, who could be contacted again in the summer.

Our opinion: Liverpool probably don’t need Dumfries

The Netherlands international has performed really well since his return from injury. He scored two goals in the league game against Como, giving Inter a shot at the title.

However, that doesn’t mean he would be ideal for Liverpool. He is like a wing-back who focuses on making runs in the final third.

The Reds need a right-back but Dumfries have defensive weaknesses. Any deal for him would be cheap but tactically, he has a number of areas that need attention. This is why there may be better and younger options on the market in favor of Arne Slott.

Carried the team on his shoulders – Manchester City’s plan to sign players gets support

Manchester City will sign a player who has ‘carried the team on his shoulders’ in Barcelona’s Azzedine Onahi.

Sports report on 26 year old player today And how he would be ideal for Manchester City as they look for a replacement for Bernardo Silva.

Manchester City Plan implemented

A report in Spain yesterday said Manchester City are eyeing a move for Azzedine Onahi as they plan for life after Bernardo Silva.

They could use their special relationship with Verona, who are also part of the City Football Group, to land the midfielder in any competition.

The Moroccan’s deal also has a release clause of €20m, making him an affordable and relatively cheap option to strengthen Manchester City’s midfield options.

Of course, he has made several deals with Verona before. Savinho spent time at the club before moving to the Etihad. Vitor Reis and Claudio Echeverri are also on loan at the Spanish side this season.

transfer approved

Sports are confident that this will be another success story. The newspaper labels Azzedine Onahi as a player with a ‘strong work ethic, good technique and a powerful shot’.

They also see the 26-year-old as a replacement for Bernardo Silva given what he has done at Verona.

According to the newspaper he has been a ‘blessing’ to manager Mitchell. And his impact goes beyond just numbers.

The midfielder has often been the player who ‘carried the team on his back’ when things were not going well. He was also a player in the team who ‘constantly tried to hurt the opposition’. He would often deviate from the script to ‘push his team forward’.

In other words, he is a leader. And at €20m, could easily be the ‘ideal replacement’ for Bernardo Silva in Manchester City’s midfield.

Nottingham Forest could put a smile back on player’s face – midfielder waiting with ‘phone in hand’

david fratesi
December 28, 2025; New Balance Arena, Bergamo, Italy; Francesco Pio Esposito of FC Inter, Davide Fratessi of FC Inter, Josep Martínez of FC Inter during Atalanta BC – FC Inter

nottingham forest A move for Davide Fratesi to Inter Milan failed in January. There is still hope for a transfer, with the player increasingly accepting that he needs to leave.

At the end of January, the East Mids club came close to signing the Italian. A deal was almost complete, with the Nerazzurri simply waiting to sign a replacement.

sports witness The saga was covered closely, as Fratesi had to stay due to Inter’s failure to sign Curtis Jones.

After that, things did not change for the midfielder. The 26-year-old has started only two Serie A games in 2026, relegating him to bench-warmer status.

Nottingham Forest may have another chance at Fratesi, who is awaiting a transfer.

evacuation team

corriere dello sport Reports on the Italy international made it clear that he was keen on a transfer in January.

The newspaper believed that Nottingham Forest could not meet Inter’s demands and this was another reason for the failure. The Nerazzurri wanted a loan with an obligation to buy but the Premier League side wanted a simple loan.

Now, it is certain that Fratessi will leave Inter in the summer. Despite being very important for them in the 2024/25 campaign, he has given up hope of making his mark.

It is said that the midfielder’s smile has disappeared in the last few months. Hoping to get out, he has his ‘phone in hand’ and his crew is doing everything they can to make a move.

He wants to play regularly and make an impact at the highest level, as he did under Simone Inzaghi.

Nottingham Forest given another chance

Ideally, the Champions League-experienced player may not be keen on a move to the City Ground. But in this case, things may be different.

Nottingham Forest dealt Fratessi’s squad in January in their move for Lorenzo Lucca. This shows that they have a very good working relationship, which could also help in the signing of the Italy midfielder.

Fratesi is a midfielder who adds a lot of unpredictability in the final third. He may not be technically proficient, but he has the ability to achieve important goals. This would help any team, let alone Nottingham Forest.

Vitor Pereira’s side have a chance but there are every possibility that more clubs will come knocking for them.

Southampton player’s interest growing in Brazil – three clubs now in the running

southampton There is widespread interest in Wellington Santos, with many Brazilian clubs now looking for a player who has struggled for consistent minutes this season.

The left-back has made 17 appearances in the Championship during the 2025/26 campaign, but his role has fluctuated. That situation often creates opportunities in the market, and clubs in Brazil are now moving beyond the initial watch to join the more crowded race.

As we recently coveredPalmeiras was the first to seriously evaluate Wellington as a market opportunity. However, the situation is no different now.

Increasing competition in Brazil

Wellington Santos is now attracting the attention of internationals and Flamengo too, he says bolavip. This turns a single-club watch into a wider domestic battle for his signature.

This growing interest is driven by the similar conditions of those clubs. All are looking for reinforcements at left-back and Wellington’s position in England makes him a viable target.

International interest also has a specific trigger. Their current left-back, Alexander Bernabéu – former celtic – Has struggled for consistency this season. As a result, the club have stepped up their search for options for the position, bringing Wellington into their consideration.

His current lack of prominence at Southampton, with a valuation of around €3m (£2.6m), puts him within reach financially.

Nevertheless, the main details remain unchanged. Despite several clubs keeping an eye on him, there has still been no formal contact from the player’s camp. The situation remains at the level of analysis rather than dialogue.

What’s next for Southampton?

From Southampton’s perspective, the situation is evolving. Interest is clearly growing, and this often changes the dynamics rapidly. Still, without any club taking the next step, there is no immediate pressure to act.

Wellington Santos, on the other hand, remains a player with a balanced statistical profile. This gives Southampton a chance to take a decision. They can either consider increasing their role or consider a move if concrete proposals come in.

For now, the story is defined by spreading interest rather than moving it forward. The next steps will depend on whether one of the Brazilian clubs decides to turn monitoring into action.

Rumor suggests NY Yankees players are bored of jerseys, want alternatives

While the New York Yankees classic jerseys are iconic in MLB circles, it seems like the team’s players are a little bored with the look and would like some alternatives.

There are only a few sports brands that are known not only nationally, but across the world. The Yankees are one of them. Caps and shirts bearing their branding are worn all over the world as the club has become synonymous with winning after bringing home 27 MLB championships.

The franchise is also one of the oldest in the United States, having first graced the diamond in 1903 as the New York Highlanders. Their famous pinstripes are almost as old and were introduced in 1912. It’s a vintage look that ownership loves, and they’re the only team in the league that doesn’t use alternate jerseys. Even their rivals for over 100 years, the Boston Red Sox, have alternate uniforms.

But times change. Last year, for the first time in nearly 50 years, the Yankees allowed their players to grow beards. It seems that the move in a more modern direction may have prompted New York’s players to request another major change for the team.

New York Yankees players want alternative road jerseys

Yankees
Nathan Ray Siebeck-Imagen Images

According to The Athletic, “New York Yankees players recently showed off the team by wearing alternate jerseys for the first time in franchise history.”

Now, the pitch rarely had to stray far from their classic home pinstripes. Instead, a request was made to get different jersey options for road games. The Yankees have long worn gray uniforms with New York written on them for road games.

Furthermore, the pitch was not for them to indulge in the wild designs that other teams have used for the annual City Connect alternate jerseys. Instead, Yankees players asked for permission to use their navy batting practice jerseys as a substitute.

This seems like a reasonable request that doesn’t mess with their iconic home form and spice up a very boring presentation for road games. It will be interesting to see if the Steinbrenner family accepts their players’ petition.

Manchester United ‘will listen to offers’ as Red Devils players consider exit

Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee
Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee

Juventus is preparing a fresh attempt Manchester United Forward Joshua Zirkzee is looking to leave England this summer.

CM.it reports that the Manchester United forward It’s once again a solid goal for the Italian giants. The return to Serie A is confirmed.

Why is Juventus moving now?

CM.it reports that Joshua Zirkzee’s situation at Manchester United has now changed. They are prepared to listen to offers for the Dutchman, who is believed to be worth €30m.

Juventus see an opening they cannot afford to miss. This is especially the case as Zirkzee cost Manchester United €42m in 2024. The current price is a big downtrend and may be pushed further lower.

Inside Juventus, there is alignment. Luciano Spalletti has already approved the move, with the club set to make major changes especially in his attacking department. Many of the current options are likely to leave, with only Kenan Yildiz guaranteed to remain.

The striker is looking for a revival

Joshua Zirkzee also considers time as good. He has endured a difficult and disappointing two years in England. Now he is actively seeking to leave Manchester United.

He wants to join a club where he can play regularly, rebuild confidence and rediscover the form that made him one of Serie A’s most exciting attackers when he was at Bologna. Juventus believe they can give him what he wants.

Manchester United are also ready to ‘listen to offers’ for the 24-year-old, it now seems Ideal time to finalize a deal.

However, €30 million may still be too much of the asking price. Having spent big on players like Francisco Conceição, Douglas Luiz and others for little return, Juventus will want to be cautious and avoid a repeat of that.

However, Manchester United hold the cards. Zirkzee’s current deal runs until 2029 and includes the option of a further year. They do not have to sell at a price they do not consider acceptable. But there is an openness to a deal, which means Juventus have an opportunity.

Chelsea will increase the midfielder’s salary – putting him among the top 3 paid players in the Blues squad

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo
Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo

chelsea Moving to protect Moises Caicedo beyond the usual contract cycle, more details are emerging from South America on a situation already widely discussed in England.

The Ecuador international has become central to Chelsea’s structure this season. Despite inconsistent results, he has been a consistent presence in midfield.

His minutes underscore that importance, while his defensive reliability and passing volume keep the team strong.

That role explains why Chelsea are now acting quickly. Instead of waiting for the pressure to build, they are trying to remove it completely.

Contract extension driven by situation, not urgency

journalists cesar louis merlo And jose alberto molestina – Both experts on the South American market – outline the full picture Havoline Deportivo.

Moises Caicedo’s current deal already runs until 2031, which raises an obvious question.

Merlo addressed this directly:

“What Chelsea are doing is giving him a salary commensurate with the value of Caicedo, who is one of the best central midfielders in the world.” he explained.

“There are still some small details missing, but everything is in place for Moises Caicedo to extend his contract with Chelsea until June 2033. His current contract runs until 2031.”

This means it is about linking his salary with his importance and removing any future stress.

“So that he remains calm, so that there is no conflict… and if a club comes with a big offer, Caicedo becomes more relaxed and any possible exit is more harmonious and agreeable.”

The midfielder himself recently He said he wants to ‘stay as long as possible’So all roads ultimately lead to Chelsea.

Outside interest and Chelsea reaction

Molestina gave further details, particularly on how other clubs have affected the situation.

“I think Moyi will become one of the top three highest-paid players in the team, which is very important.”

He then pointed to growing attention from elsewhere:

“There are clubs that have started to ask about Moises, about his situation, especially considering that Chelsea’s sporting moment is not the best.”

That notion has evoked a clear internal reaction:

“They basically said: ‘No, no, no, let’s secure the players we want long-term.'”

In other words, Chelsea have already recognized the risk and decided to take action before it became more serious.

Relationship with the agency and long-term control

At this stage Moises Caicedo and Chelsea are in an alliance. The player is said to be happy at the club, wanna be a legend out thereAnd there is no current intention on the part of either party to proceed with the transfer.

At the same time, the structure around it has also played a role. His new agency, Base, has a strong relationship with Chelsea, which has helped with smooth discussions.

Merlo explained that dynamic:

“Chelsea have a very good relationship with the base… Obviously when each side has to defend their position, they will, but the idea is to avoid any friction or problems.”

This is part of a broader strategy. Chelsea wishes to reduce the possibility of future disputes, whether internal or motivated by external interest.

This is a move to cement Moises Caicedo’s place at the club as well as enhance his position within the team.

At the same time, they are also building security into that commitment. If interest continues to grow, as expected, any negotiations will take place from a position of strength.

For a player who is already viewed internally as one of the best in his role, this move reflects long-term planning rather than a short-term reaction.

‘Siberia of Anfield’ – Arne Slot made an excuse for not washing, the Liverpool player’s behavior was strange

liverpool manager arne slott
Arne Slot (Liverpool manager) moves closer to the bench before kicking during the football match FC Inter vs Liverpool FC, UCL

In the name of Arne Slott liverpool Large sections of the Anfield fanbase are not washing their hands this season, and it’s the same in the Netherlands.

Journalist Henk Spahn is the latest person to call out the Liverpool manager Hate Parul this week. He did not impress from the slot in the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

A four for Erne Slott

Henk Spahn covered Arne Slott today and gave him four points for his performance in the 2-0 defeat to PSG at Anfield. He feels the Liverpool manager has ‘lost his way’.

This is demonstrated by their strategy at present. He explains that last week the slot ‘exposed Van Dijk’ with the back five. This week, he was forced to substitute Dominik Szoboszlai at right-back midway through the game.

But he questions whether this was forced or whether Slott simply chose to ‘exile this pure footballer to the ‘Siberia of Anfield”.

He also questions the reaction after the game. Slott criticized the refereeing in his post-match comments. According to Spahn, this is a tactic he has used many times before.

As far as he is concerned, the truth is that Liverpool were ‘outclassed once again’ by a team that is superior in every respect, but especially technically and tactically. He says PSG are ‘ahead’ of Liverpool.

Growing criticism for slots

Henk Spahn’s comments are part of a growing trend in the Netherlands when it comes to Arne Slot. While last year they were praising him a lot, this year questions are being raised continuously.

Journalists and analysts have regularly criticized him in recent weeks. One such report details how he has lost his way at Anfield this season.

The pressure on the Dutch coach is undoubtedly increasing. Despite the immense heat that set up Liverpool for the next decade, their title defense has been a disaster.

Now criticism is spreading, even to the Netherlands, where only a year ago he was a genius.

Tennessee Volunteers in top 3 for star players in transfer portal

Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers have been cleaning up the transfer portal this month, securing three commitments to bolster their depth next season. While the focus has primarily been on players from smaller schools, it appears the Volunteers are an emerging threat to field one of the best players available across the country.

On3.com’s Pete Nacos reports that Tennessee has emerged as one of the “top three schools to look at” for guard Jukes Harris in the transfer portal. However, it’s worth noting that a decision isn’t expected any time soon as the young guard is also evaluating his options to turn professional depending on where he’s projected to land in the 2026 NBA Draft.

RELATED: Tennessee volunteers gaining momentum toward bigger commitment

A week earlier, most reporting suggested that the Michigan Wolverines were in a very strong position to land Harris’ commitment. Since then, the offensive efforts of both the Volunteers and the North Carolina Tar Heels have made it a three-team battle.

Nakos elaborated that Harris visited Michigan during the championship program and that he walked away from the program with “confidence” it gave him a good chance to earn his commitment. However, after that, home visits to Tennessee and North Carolina have them set up for a tough battle with Michigan to land a star guard.

RELATED: Tennessee Volunteers to spend big bucks on basketball

The 6-foot-7 Harris is rated as the fourth-best player in the 2026 college basketball transfer portal by On3.com and Rivals. Jeff Borzello of ESPN ranked him the sixth-best player on the market and the second-best shooting guard.

In his final season at Wake Forest, the second-year guard averaged 21.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He shot 33.2 percent from beyond the arc, averaged 2.5 three-pointers per game, while getting to the free-throw line frequently (7.1 attempts per game) and shot 78.3 percent from the charity stripe.

RELATED: Insider sheds light on Tennessee’s approach to transfer portal

A report for Barnes and the Volunteers’ coaching staff this season emphasizes adding more capable scorers to the roster. Harris, the reigning ACC Most Improved Player, scored more than 30 points three times this season and reached more than 27 points in eight contests. He also finished nine games with double-digit free-throw attempts.

Given how aggressive Tennessee has been in recruiting Harris under Barnes, it’s very possible that the program is able to lure him away from Michigan and North Carolina. If that happens, the zero commitment would certainly mean that next season’s roster is the most expensive in program history.

As low as 2/10 – Liverpool players rated worst by the French press

liverpoolThe 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening didn’t just affect the scoreboard. In France, the post-match verdict was predictably brutal.

Several Liverpool players were given very low ratings by L’EquipeEven got a star slammed with 2/10.

Here’s how the French press analyzed a night not to forget for Arne Slott’s side.

Low ratings for many Liverpool stars

In first place is goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is given a score of 5/10. Even though much of what he did was not unconventional or beautiful, it has been described as ‘effective’.

The newspaper argues that this was certainly an improvement on his sometimes erratic, and sometimes dangerous, delivery with his legs.

liverpool did not impress
liverpool did not impress

Jeremy Frimpong has a worse ranking. He got a score of 3/10 after a ‘complete off day’ in which he made ‘many technical errors’. Defensively, he was not much better, lapses in coverage were frequent but not fatal.

Milos Kerkez also gets a 3/10 score from the newspaper. They describe him as the ‘weak link’ in Liverpool’s defense who was clearly targeted by the Parisians.

Virgil van Dijk is next with a 5/10 rating. When it comes to the defender, L’Equipe say he is ‘far away’ from the world-class defender he once was.

However, they insist their performance was nothing to be embarrassed about.

Four for Szoboszlai

Dominic Szoboszlai is next with 4/10. L’Equipe say he ‘failed to live up to his potential’ as Liverpool’s best player this season.

Although he covered a lot of ground, saw a lot of the ball and performed well in some moments, his offensive impact was ‘non-existent’. They speculate that this is why Arne Slott later moved him to right-back.

Ryan Gravenburch gets a 5/10. He showed ‘a lot of carelessness’ in the first half and repeatedly let the ball go. He ‘transformed’ after the break and instigated several Liverpool attacks, but that revival came too late.

Florian Wirtz and Alexis McAllister are each given 4/10. Despite making a defensive contribution the German was described as ‘grossly inadequate’. Meanwhile, Mac Allister ‘made little impact’ on the game and was ‘found unwanted’ in the build-up to Ousmane Dembele’s opener.

Salah is the best, Isaac is the worst

Meanwhile, Mo Salah gets a 6/10 rating. He didn’t get everything right, but he received ‘undeniable credit’ for his persistent efforts to bring about change.

One such was a wicked cross with his first touch, while there was another through ball for Kerkes which the full-back could not take advantage of.

For Alexander Isaacs it is more painful to read. L’Equipe say he ‘completely disappeared’ from the game after the early start, missing good chances and managing only five touches. It gets 2/10. His replacement, Kodi Gakpo gets a 5/10 despite being ‘ultimately ineffective’.

More pain for Arne Slott

Arne Slott is no exception. He is given a score of 3/10, mainly for his ‘losing gamble’ of starting Isaac in the game.

The failure to use Mo Salah from the start also ‘raises questions’ as his impact on the game was almost immediate as a substitute.

They used Joe Gomez, who came on at half-time and was removed in the 67th The minutes, too, were ‘not particularly convincing’.

As far as L’Equipe is concerned, the Dutchman did not give the impression that he has put his team in the best possible position to succeed.

Leeds United have no regrets about selling players – emphatically it’s OK

leeds united

noah okafor shines leeds united Scored two goals against Manchester United on Monday.

Victory at Old Trafford would be of huge importance for the Whites, who are now six points ahead of 18th-placed Tottenham. They will soon take over a struggling London side, but for now they still have some breathing room.

The Swiss attacker, who was brought from AC Milan £18m, now six goals in the campaign. While he has struggled for consistency, Okafor has now scored against Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea, showing how he is a player for the big occasions.

However, this was not entirely true at the Rossoneri. He played 54 times in all competitions for them, scoring seven times. On loan at Napoli, he could never really convince Antonio Conte.

sports witness His move to Elland Road was extensively covered, as Milan showed little hesitation in selling him.

His brace this week is raising eyebrows in Italy, leading many to wonder whether his sale to Leeds United was worth it.

No regrets about the deal

milanlive Note that Noah Okafor has not had a great season. He may have scored big goals against Manchester United, but he feels he has only found his form in recent weeks.

Milan’s instability last season probably affected the Switzerland international. They had two managers in charge in the 2024/25 campaign as they missed out on the Champions League spots.

Despite this, Okafor has no regrets about his sale to Leeds United, and it is believed that a good deal was negotiated.

They explore the argument that the 25-year-old could have contributed more than Christopher Nkunku. But the idea has been shelved as Milan are happy with how much they made from Okafor’s exit by signing him. €14m.

Our Opinion: Milan’s instability affects Okafor

The 2024/25 campaign was quite a strange one for Milan. Almost every player struggled, as both Sergio Conceição and Paulo Fonseca brought out the best in the team.

As a result, the Swiss forward was never able to find his best footing with the Rossoneri. This was in contrast to the 2023/24 campaign, when he was much better under Stefano Pioli.

Milan have struggled in attack this season. Almost all of their attackers have struggled in 2026. Considering this and how they have been a bit more stable under Max Allegri, Okafor could have been quite a useful option.

Leeds United should have no complaints as Daniel Farke is getting a tune-up from the versatile forward.

Everton decide on transfer as club contacts player’s agent

adan zegrova

everton Juventus winger Eden Zegrova will face competition from Besiktas this summer, who looks set to leave the Italian club.

Fanatic reports that black and white They have set their sights on the Juventus winger as they look for a new signing on the right wing. They are ready to part ways with Milot Rashika and want her replacement.

agents contacted

The Turkish outlet reports that Besiktas have contacted Zegrova’s agent about a move this summer. It is being seen as a ‘surprise move’ by the Super Lig club, and could put them ahead of Everton.

They have inquired with the player’s agents about the terms of the contract. This is the scope of talks and efforts so far. He further added that Zegrova is set to leave Juventus this summer after a difficult year in Turin.

According to the report, the Italian side believe their €14.3m investment last summer has not paid off tuttosport. They had high hopes for the former Lille star but his playing time under Luciano Spalletti has become increasingly limited.

Due to this, both the parties may separate this summer. Besiktas are certainly taking steps to take advantage of this.

Everton’s long-term interest

The interest from the Turkish side would potentially be bad news for Everton. The Toffees have been chasing Eden Zegrova for some time after being first linked End of the January transfer window.

It was later explained that this was David Moyes’ side. had adopted only a very timid attitude For a 27 year old. They now face potential competition from Besiktas, who have already spoken to the winger’s agents.

The Toffees now need to decide if they really want Zegrova or if their focus is elsewhere. This is likely to depend largely on whether they can find another deal for Jack Grealish.

But if they decide not to move quickly, they risk losing to Besiktas in the meantime. The Turkish side are apparently taking the first steps towards signing the Juventus flop this summer.

Sunderland forced to move due to injury – player’s condition could worsen in the summer

Sunderland

Santiago Jimenez has been struggling at AC Milan and this could give Sunderland the chance to sign him.

The Mexican joins the Rossoneri in January 2025 for around €35m. Although he impressed in the second half of last season, he has struggled this campaign.

He has yet to score a single goal in Serie A and this has raised doubts over his future in January.

sports witness Sunderland’s interest in the striker was covered when they made an initial approach for his signature. Brentford were also in the mix before Jimenez was ruled out with injury.

There are beliefs that had the 24-year-old not been injured, he would have joined Sunderland.

Day There has been speculation over the Mexico international’s future, with a move away from the San Siro likely.

Black Cats could sign the player

The newspaper highlights how Milan’s attack has failed this season… They are no longer in the running for the Serie A title, with a number of exits likely in the summer.

Niklas Fulkrug is likely to return to West Ham, with Christopher Nkunku also proving disappointing. As for Jiménez, he could also be on the move at the end of the season.

The Milan attack has scored only five goals in 2026 and this is causing concern. Robert Lewandowski is being touted as a target, with players like Jimenez and Nkunku making way for the Barcelona star.

Our opinion: Sunderland can save Jimenez

This season, Regis Le Bris’s side have seen Brian Brobby impress in the Premier League. He put in an impressive performance against Tottenham at the weekend, helping Sunderland to a 1–0 win.

Jimenez could offer something different for the Black Cats and a potential partnership with Brobby.

Milan paid €35m for Jimenez and a deal could be struck with interested clubs for anything around €25m.
