Los Angeles Rams ‘punished’ with 2026 NFL schedule

The 2026 NFL schedule was revealed last Thursday. Now that analysts have had a week to review the 18-week schedule, which includes a record number of nine international games, some believe the Los Angeles Rams got the beat early.

This has become a common talking point as fans have had a chance to digest the team’s schedule revelations on social media. It turns out, this isn’t just another Los Angeles conspiracy theory, this idea has spread among NFL insiders as well.

comes from the latest Sports IllustratedThe Wednesday edition of Albert Breuer’s weekly mailbag which answers questions submitted by readers. One question asked, “Does it feel like some teams are penalized for being popular when the schedule is made?”

Breyer’s response: “Sure, Joey. Look at the Chiefs’ schedule in 2024 and ’25 and the Rams’ schedule in 2026.”

Breyer referenced a column by his SI colleague Connor Orr, who previously wrote that the Rams “screwed up” with their 2026 slate.

“This schedule is absurd. Seven prime-time games. A season opener in Melbourne, Australia. One of the worst net rest differentials in the NFL. Four 2025 playoff teams in the first five weeks. Thanksgiving Eve. Christmas in prime time against the Seahawks. Two Seahawks games in three weeks to end the season. This, for a team with a 38-year-old starting quarterback that got through training camp last year without a space-age fitness trailer.” This is how the NFL inadvertently beat the Chiefs last year and it appears to be attempting to do so again with the Rams. That’s why Sean McVay cautioned ESPN to hold their horses when talking about the Seattle games at the end of the season because it’s unlikely the Rams will get there unscathed, but it’s disappointing to see the league’s premier offense completely sidelined by those factors. “Completely under the control of the league.”

SI’s Connor Orr on the Rams’ schedule

Obviously, the league tries to put the NFL’s best teams in primetime slots. The Rams are expected to be a Super Bowl contender, so seven primetime games should be no surprise.

Other obstacles, such as playing in Australia or being the two-time defending Super Bowl champions in the final weeks of the season, are also a result of the team’s popularity and overall expectations, where the league tries to save important divisional matchups for late in the season when it seems at every moment that playoff status is on the line.

Ultimately, if teams like the Rams can overcome a tough challenge, it means they are truly one of the best teams in the NFL. But this won’t be proven until the playoffs arrive. First things first, the Rams have to get there, and it won’t be easy.

Will CM Punk be punished for the pipe bomb about the TKO? Major report came out

CM Punk revealed some unfiltered thoughts about WWE’s parent company on Monday Night Raw. But have those comments landed the world heavyweight champion in trouble?

The second to last WWE Raw before WrestleMania 42 got off to a hot start last night when Punk opened the show to express his thoughts on a few topics. Much of his promo was directed at his opponent on Night 2 of the two-night extravaganza the following weekend.

However, in the end, he surprisingly backed out and went after one-time announcer Pat McAfee. The popular podcaster and ESPN analyst went viral after returning to the company on last week’s SmackDown to criticize the company regarding alleged issues with the product and slow ticket sales for WrestleMania.

Well, this didn’t sit well with one face of the company as Punk attacked McAfee. He then suggested she call her “agent” and ask him to lower the ticket prices. The person he was referring to is the CEO of WWE’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, who has pushed for McAfee to be added to WWE title storylines and is trying to make him a star in Hollywood.

The comments surprised many and led to speculation that Punk went off script and could be punished by TKO. Well, according to PW Insider Elite, it doesn’t seem possible at the moment, but Punk was speaking for several of his colleagues backstage.

The outlet reported, “We haven’t heard about any fallout from the promo, but we’re also told that what Punk said reflects the frustration backstage among the talent over the past several weeks.” “We have heard from many talents who have expressed frustration over the fact that ticket prices are so high, that there are so many tickets left for the top show of the year, and while there are so many seats available, talents are only being given two comp tickets for the night they are performing.”

Let us tell you that this year’s WrestleMania is being held in the same city Las Vegas like last year. This may affect interest in the arena as well as ticket prices which are as high as ever for the company.

Will Trae Young be punished for an ejection just before his debut in Washington?

Although Trae Young has not played a game for the Wizards yet thrown out during Lost 123-118 to the Rockets last night. Late in the third quarter of the game, there was a brief skirmish between Jameer Watkins and Tari Eason that led to the game being stopped. While Young did not involve himself on the field, he walked off the court as it was happening, causing him to be ejected.

Although ejections do occur from time to time and are used as both punishment and deterrent to prevent situations from escalating, it is not every night that a passive player is ejected. It is also rare for a player who is not a good fit for a team to be dropped. As a result, questions arose as to whether Young would be punished for the ejection. According to NBA insider Mark Spears, he’s in the clear.

“I’ve been told that no further discipline is expected from the league office for Washington’s Trae Young after he was ejected for ‘running on the court’ in Monday night’s game against Houston,” Stein said. He said Young’s highly anticipated debut as a member of the Wizards will come Thursday when the team faces the Utah Jazz.

Young has only played 10 games this season due to injury, but is averaging 19.3 points and 8.9 assists as well as one steal per game.
