On Tuesday, the Broncos agreed to send a first (No. 30), third- and fourth-round pick for Waddle and a fourth-rounder in next month’s NFL Draft.

The trade return for Miami is bad news for the Patriots, Rams and any other team interested in trading for the Browns. Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler who has had fewer than 1,000 yards receiving in only one of his seven NFL seasons. If Waddle can get a first, third and fourth rounder, Brown’s value should be much higher as he has a far better resume and is only a year older. If the Patriots or Rams want Brown, it would cost at least a first- and second-round draft pick.

After being decisively defeated by the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl, the Patriots are making every effort to improve the roster and become the rare team to bounce back in the big game after a loss. Without a doubt, acquiring a bigger weapon in the pass game, especially after releasing Stefon Diggs, is a top priority this offseason.

Not surprisingly, the franchise has been linked to a trade for Philadelphia Eagles star receiver AJ Brown for several weeks. And a recent report suggested New England had even offered first- and third-round picks to the three-time Pro Bowler. However, the Eagles are looking to return at least a first and second rounder.

With the price being so high, there has been much discussion that Philadelphia could still hold on to Brown despite the obvious disappointment with his usage during the 2025 season. However, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, multiple league sources have described a trade from Philly as “inevitable”.

Well, that sounds pretty good. An NFL insider claimed, “The Patriots remain in play despite the recent addition of former Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs. A source anticipates the Patriots will be the final destination.”

“Regardless, the fact that a trade hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Signs continue to point towards it happening. The only question is if the Eagles decide to wait until after June 1 to make the deal official.”

However, in 2025, he was not as effective in the new offense under head coach Liam Coen and offensive coordinator Grant Udinsky. Tallied only 48 catches, 707 yards and two TDs in 14 starts.

Thomas won’t come cheap, and the price will probably start with the first-rounder the Patriots offered the Browns. While it will be a bit risky, it’s worth it for a 23-year-old who has already shown he can be a WR1 in the NFL. Plus, he’s locked in for two more seasons at a bargain rate, and New England will also have the option to extend him for another season in 2028.

We’re less than 24 hours away from when teams can start talking in NFL free agency. The Washington Commanders, who boast more than $80 million in salary cap space, are expected to be especially busy.

After a disappointing 5-12 season, the Commanders could be aggressive, and take advantage of Jaden Daniels playing under a rookie contract. Recently, the Commanders released former Pro Bowl center Tyler Biadasz, who has since signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. Now, Commanders can get closer to a significant upgrade than their former starting point.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Commanders could “heavily pursue” free agent center Tyler Linderbaum. That is, if Linderbaum doesn’t first agree to re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens.

“Should he not re-sign with the Ravens, there is an assumption among teams that the Commanders will heavily pursue C Tyler Linderbaum in free agency,” Schultz wrote. “Washington recently released its starting center Tyler Biadasz.”

Linderbaum, a three-time Pro Bowler, is widely viewed as the best center available this offseason. He would be a big signing for a Commanders team that saw its offense slip to 22nd in scoring after finishing fifth in 2024.

Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob was recently reported to be interested in purchasing the MLB franchise San Diego Padres, leading to much speculation regarding his current stake in the NBA team. As things stand, Lacob is the owner of the most valuable franchise in the NBA, given the Warriors’ success over the past decade.

However, for Bill Simmons, Lacob’s desire to add the Padres to his portfolio could mean he will sell the Warriors.

“I’m wondering, so let’s say he wins, and he gets the Padres. Is it unimaginable to think that the next team would be available? Because I’ve asked it to people, and they were like, ‘No way, he’ll never sell the Warriors,'” Simmons initially said on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

However, Simmons believes this could lead to Lacob moving on to a new challenge.

“But right now it’s the perfect time to sell the Warriors. Because you’re at the peak of the market, there’s money coming in for expansion and then on top of that the new owner can be the new owner of that team for the next three to seven years with Steph Curry on it, no matter how long he plays. And you can just be like, you know, four titles. I couldn’t have done better than that. I built this amazing infrastructure, and now I get to take my talents to baseball. Will go,” he said. Said.

Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe has officially added the first of many awards to his NBA career: Rising Stars MVP.

Taking the court for Team Vince Carter, Edgecombe scored back-to-back game winners and clearly looked like the best player on the court whenever he wore the jersey, which is high praise indeed, considering players like Derrick Queen were also participating in the event.

And yet, as pleasing as it is for Edgecombe to secure the tournament, as was the MVP trophy that came with it, Edgecombe was not ready to rest on his laurels. No. When asked about his win after the game, Edgecombe explained that he was happy to get his first championship win of the calendar year, even though he would like to add another win to his resume in a few months.

“It feels so good, man. It feels so good, baby. For Philly, baby,” Edgecombe declared. “You know, hopefully that championship at Rising Stars will be the first championship I get this season.”

On paper, Edgecombe’s confidence was evident in terms of both his individual performances and the quality of his team. While Daryl Morey famously didn’t add a player to his roster before the trade deadline, instead opting to trade forward Jared McCann for four draft picks and Eric Gordon with one pick, the 76ers are still a top-6 team in the Eastern Conference and could theoretically punch their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time in the Joel Embiid era if things don’t go their way this spring. Given that Edgecomb ranks second on the team in minutes, it’s safe to say that Philly will be counting on him to deliver them to the promised land early and often in May and June.
