Celtic ahead of Rangers in signing race – O’Neill’s side ready for talks, offer underway

celtic And ranger people In the summer Brøndby are attempting to bring IF’s Benjamin Tahirovic to Celtic Park and Ibrox respectively.

Martin O’Neill’s side are back in the mix and join Rangers and other clubs in the transfer race.

  • Start: 13
  • Total minutes: 1,198

Celtic and Rangers want the same player

sports games Cover the latest interest in Benjamin Tahirovic from Martin O’Neill and from Danny Rohl.

The same source previously reported FC Porto as interested, citing interest from Celtic and Rangers. It is said that Celtic have now decided to ‘go hunting’ for the 25-year-old.

Martin O’Neill’s side are ‘currently in the best position’ to sign him amid interest from Rangers, Porto and others. In other words, the Celtic Park club is ahead of the Ibrox club and the rest.

Celtic are ready to negotiate with the Danish club and are preparing an offer. Brøndby IF is too demanding, without even mentioning his request.

Tahirovic will represent his country at the World Cup, a spot they secured after defeating Italy in March. If he impresses in the tournament, his price could rise and attract more clubs.

Therefore, the Superliga side are in no rush to sell him as other unnamed clubs have reportedly started contacting the player.

Contract, price and agent information

Benjamin Tahirovic’s contract expires in 2028 and his value, according to transfer marketIs €4.5m. The highest price was €6m in December 2023, when he was at Ajax.

The agency Reset Group, headed by Italian agent Davide Lippi, is representing the Bosnians.

Celtic and Rangers shift battle for midfielder – front page story

celtic and Danny Rohl’s Rangers are expected to reshape parts of their midfield this summer, especially with European football again increasing the physical demands on their squads.

Recruitment from Scandinavia has also become a familiar route for Celtic and Rangers in recent years. This helps explain why Silas Anderson is now on their radar.

The 21-year-old BK Hacken midfielder has quietly become one of the most reliable performers in the Danish league over the past season. His combination of defensive intensity, ball-carrying and composure in possession is now attracting the interest of many countries.

According to Portuguese outlet recordBoth Celtic and Rangers are monitoring Anderson closely as Sporting moves forward with attempts to sign the midfielder.

The Portuguese newspaper reports that Sporting has already made preliminary contact with Hacken regarding a possible transfer. Hamburg and FC Köln are also interested, with Köln’s bid of €4m (£3.4m) already rejected.

Hacken is reportedly targeting around €7m (£5.9m) plus bonuses.

Why is Anderson attracting interest from Celtic and Rangers?

Celtic and Rangers involved in big record story
Celtic and Rangers involved in big record story

Silas Andersen has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the Danish league since last season. Although his physical profile is immediately imposing at 1.90 metres, he is much more technical than many might expect.

The Denmark U21 international is comfortable carrying the ball through the midfield and regularly beats opponents off the dribble. His control in tight spaces is another strong point, especially for a player of his frame.

Still, it’s defensively where Anderson makes the biggest impact. FootyStats data shows that he wins an average of about nine duels per game and completes about 2.4 tackles per match.

There is also offensive contribution in his game. Anderson leads the way with goals and assists, and Hacken believes there is still significant room for development.

The record state Sporting sees him as a medium-term project rather than a direct Replacement for Morten Hjulmand.

It could also be a good fit for Celtic and Rangers, who have shown a willingness to recruit young Scandinavian talents with resell potential in recent years.

what happens next

Silas Anderson’s situation is now likely to develop rapidly. Haken is aware that a number of clubs are circling, and the rejected Koln offer has already helped set a tough asking price.

For Celtic and Rangers, the attraction is obvious. Anderson combines physicality, defensive reliability and technical quality, while still being young enough to develop further.

A fee of around €7m (£5.9m) would still represent a large investment in Scottish football terms. However, growing Bundesliga and Portuguese interest could push both Glasgow clubs to make a decision sooner rather than later.

“Completely new team” – Danny Rohl on Rangers transfer plans

ranger people Manager Danny Rohl led the Ibrox club to third place in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Russell Martin was in charge at Ibrox at the start of the season and Rangers parted ways with him in October after a string of poor results.

Later that month, the Scottish club appointed Röhl as his successor and the German managed 40 matches.

His record for the Glasgow club is as follows:

  • Matches played: 40
  • Win: 22
  • Draw: 7
  • Defeat: 11
  • Goals scored: 88
  • Target allowed: 52

image Met with the Rangers manager to review his time at the club and also spoke on topics including plans for the summer window.

Rohl discusses Rangers’ summer plans

The German newspapers were curious to know what should be done for the Rangers ‘A championship dynasty like the one they enjoyed in the late 1990s and 2000s.’

When answering this, Danny Rohl talked about the importance of having common goals and focusing on long-term gains.

“We need to rebuild personnel, but also more continuity. Many coaches have come and gone in recent years, each with his own philosophy, each trying to build a team.” He said.

“Now I’m here, and there is a clear roadmap. With the board, that is, with the club’s decision makers and investors, we want to find players who can help us. The goal is not to create a one-hit wonder, but to win titles in two, three or four years. Maybe that’s why we have to go through this difficult period again.”

Bild immediately asked if this meant a buying spree for Rangers in the summer.

“I think we’re starting to change. But there are clear processes in place.” Rohl explained.

“I work closely with the technical director, the CEO and the performance director at the club. If players become interesting to me, the board assesses the feasibility of signing them, and ideally, takes the decision and implements the move.”

germany option for rangers

Andreas Skov Olsen and Ryan Naderi arrived at Ibrox from VfL Wolfsburg and Hansa Rostock in the winter market.

Asked if Rangers will be signing Bundesliga players in the upcoming window, Danny Rohl talked about the pressure at Ibrox.

“We are well aware that the team needs leaders. You cannot meet the demands only with young players. This club is extremely unique and demanding.” He said.

“And I’ve experienced Bayern Munich; I know there’s pressure to win titles. Here it’s even more brutal. Because here, too, the media and the surrounding environment scrutinize everything every day. You can’t celebrate wins too enthusiastically, and you can’t let losses depress you too much. The team needs calmness and composure.”

support from the 49ers

The Rangers manager has the support of the current owners, who have so far not criticized him.

“No [need to travel to America]. Decision-makers come here frequently, almost weekly. This makes things easier. It’s almost a European model, and so almost completely different from, for example, Sheffield,” he explained.

“No [criticism from investors]. Full support only. They want me to lead the club to the title again. “We will tackle this in the summer with a proper preseason and a completely new team.”

Rangers experience, exit clause, interest and hip Glasgow

ranger people Manager Danny Rohl speaking to German media. This is something he is used to talking about with people in his home Frequently When Sheffield Wednesday were in charge.

At the end of his time with the Yorkshire club, Röhl often used the German media to advertise himself among Bundesliga clubs. This obviously didn’t go down universally well at Sheffield Wednesday, but now he’s in charge at Rangers so it’s a different approach.

As part of a long interview with a German newspaper image, Röhl was asked about interest from VfL Wolfsburg and other clubs.

The Rangers manager replied: “There are probably a lot of rumors circulating. It was the same last summer. If you go by speculation, I would already have 15 coaching positions. My focus is here in Glasgow. I like the job because I can compete for titles here and also at international level. And it’s a very good opportunity that I really enjoy.”

The family lives in Germany, but Danny Rohl is happy

one of the reasons Danny Rohl was so eager to return to Germany last summer that his family settled there permanently. When he took the Rangers job it meant he would have to see less of those closest to him.

At the moment it doesn’t seem to be that big of an issue, and the manager is enjoying his time at Rangers and Glasgow. He even promoted the city as a better alternative to Edinburgh.

“My wife and children lived in Germany and came to visit me often. I have an apartment in the West End. Glasgow is really nice, I love it. There are lots of restaurants, the city is very new. I would compare Edinburgh and Glasgow to Dresden and Leipzig. One city is a little more sophisticated and extremely cultural, the other is fabulous and lively.”

Rangers contract and exit clause question

ranger people

Danny Rohl’s Rangers contract runs until 2028.

Bild asked directly if he had an exit clause at Ibrox applicable to Bundesliga clubs.

To that he replied: “No, I don’t have them.”

While the manager now wants to move on and win trophies with Rangers, there will always be a suspicion that Germany remains a temptation. If that return follows a successful 2026/27 season then things could work out for everyone.

As became clear last summer, Rohl needs to do more to attract a good Bundesliga club, and Rangers could benefit from that kind of motivation.

Lewis Ferguson’s agent brings bad news for Danny Rohl’s Rangers

There are many links connecting Danny Rohl ranger people With a move for Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson in recent weeks.

The Scotland international has not always been a regular in Serie A this season. Despite being club captain throughout the campaign, the Rangers target played 24 times. Manager Vincenzo Italiano used him as a regular player in the Europa League, where the midfielder played every single game.

The former Aberdeen man remains an important team player for the Rossoblu, who rely on him especially during big games.

Now, it is becoming clear that Rangers may not be on Ferguson’s transfer agenda.

Agent Ferguson talks transfer

Lewis Ferguson’s agent Bill McMurdo has spoken tutomercatoweb Regarding the 26-year-old’s situation at Bologna and his plans, and it appears they don’t involve Ibrox and Rangers.

The outlet asked McMurdo about the possibility of a renewal at the Italian side. he replied: “Lewis has two years left on his contract. We will be meeting with the club soon to assess whether they want to offer him a contract extension or let it expire.”

Speaking about a possible transfer from Bologna, the agent discouraged suggestions of a transfer to Rangers. He made it clear that Ferguson wants to play at the highest level and is ready for the Premier League

“Luis is ready to play for one of the so-called big Italian clubs if they show interest in him and Bologna is ready to let him leave. He wants to play at the highest level and continue developing his career.”

McMurdo revealed that his client would only play in the top five European leagues.

“He will consider offers from any of the top five football countries, with Italy and England being his first choices. Lewis is very happy to stay in Bologna, but he is equally ready to take on any new challenges to further his career.”

“However, any move must be beneficial to all parties.”

Rangers transfer always a long shot

Lewis Ferguson is easily capable of playing in the Premier League. Their stature has grown to the point where they pay more than Rangers and perhaps offer an even bigger platform than Danny Rohl’s team.

The Rossoblu have developed a habit of selling their best players to England. Dan Ndoye finished at Nottingham Forest last year, a year after Joshua Zirkzee and Riccardo Calafiori also finished in the Premier League.

It is natural for there to be constant discussion about a Scottish player in his country. This will continue to be the case even if the Bologna star ends up in England.

But Ferguson ending up at Rangers soon appears to be a dream inspired by his uncle Barry Ferguson, who has spoken up about the Scotland international in recent weeks.

Rangers can sign player for just €3m – starting to establish themselves

ranger guys

ranger guys In recent years the market has increasingly looked to Portugal when searching for value, particularly for defenders who can develop into a first-team role without requiring a huge upfront investment.

This strategy makes players like Gilberto Batista special danny rohl’s rangers – Young, relatively affordable, and already showing signs of settling into the senior level.

The 22-year-old has quietly built a solid platform at Moriarty this season, which has attracted the attention of Ibrox. He has played 1,662 minutes in 25 league matches, which is approximately 66 minutes per appearance. These figures show that he is moving towards a regular presence in the team.

Their underlying data supports that progress. Gilberto Batista is recording an 88% pass completion rate and 83% dribble success rate. For centre-backs, this points to composure and confidence in possession.

Defensively, he averages 6.6 clearances per 90 minutes, showing consistent involvement in key moments at the back.

eyes from Danny Rohl’s ranger guys

Against that backdrop, Rangers’ interest begins to make more sense.

according to gameThe Scottish club are among those monitoring the defender, with Moreense already moving to protect his position. The Portuguese side have offered Gilberto Batista a new contract, even though his current deal runs until June 2027. The move reflects both his growth and increased external attention.

The same report states that the transfer could be made for around €3m (£2.6m), a figure that would immediately put the player within Rangers’ reach. This is also a type of fee that attracts many clubs once availability becomes apparent.

establishing oneself

Gilberto Batista’s rise has not gone unnoticed internally either. O’Jogo described him as a defensive mainstay, highlighting how his performances have also attracted the attention of the Black Knight Football Group.

That relationship is important. Morerain shares links with Bournemouth and Lorient, meaning there are already built-in paths for the player to progress across that network. As a result, no move will be straightforward for him, even at a relatively low price.

Still, the fact that the Morerans are now pushing for renewal suggests they are aware of the pressure building. Players without solid interest do not usually receive better offers at this stage.

what happens next

Gilberto Batista is moving into a phase where clubs need to make quick decisions. Wait too long and the price will go up. Move too fast and there is still some risk associated with its development.

For Rangers, the €3m (£2.6m) represents a calculated gamble rather than a major commitment. The profile matches what they often look for – young, high-performing and having already handled senior football.

Moreirense’s contract talks may delay things, but they also highlight the situation. The player is starting to establish himself, and usually that’s when interest turns into action.

Rangers want to buy players in summer – next few weeks ‘crucial’ for Ibrox transfers

ranger guys

Rangers’ Nasser Ziga arrived at Ibrox from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer when Danny Rohl’s predecessor Russell Martin was in charge.

The arrival of both Wolves-owned player and Emmanuel Fernandez at Rangers had a direct impact on the future of Robin Propper.

Last July, The latter indicated Both signings convinced him to leave Rangers and return to FC Twente.

Ziga and Fernandez have made 37 and 28 appearances for Rohl in all competitions this season.

The Burkina Faso international’s Scottish Premiership statistics are as follows:

  • Appearances: 20
  • Start: 18
  • Total minutes: 1,554

Rangers keen to buy Wolves man

Nasser Dziga’s performances for Rangers have convinced them to make his move to Ibrox permanent.

is according to 226 feetWho make it clear that this is their own information about the 23-year-old man.

Danny Rohl’s team wants to buy the Wolves-owned player in the summer but the operation is not simple.

The Premier League side signed the defender from Red Star Belgrade for around €12m in February 2025 and sent him on loan to Rangers later that year.

The Molineux club’s relegation from the top flight was confirmed. Despite this, the English club ‘fully intend’ to recoup the investment, meaning Wolves want €12m to sell the player.

So far, Wolves have not yet decided whether to keep Ziga in the Championship or sell him in the next window. A final decision is expected in the coming weeks.

The next few weeks will be ‘decisive’ to understand the outcome of this saga. Rangers are keen to buy while Wolves need to weigh between sporting and financial aspects.

“I was expecting more” – Player disappointed with debut after Rangers exit

On March 31, Rangers Confirmed Rabbi Matondo’s Ibrox exit to join SK Brann on a permanent transfer. The Norwegian club snatched him from Danny Rohl’s team as the window there remained open until last month.

The winger joined Rangers from Schalke in July 2022 and has failed to cement a place at Ibrox.

To give context, he played 2,706 minutes in 70 matches and scored eight goals and 11 assists for Rangers.

In January 2025, the Scottish club sent him on loan to Hannover 96 and before that, we broadcast news Of interest to Ajax. Since returning from his loan spell in Germany, he lost prominence at Rangers.

Russell Martin did not give him any minutes and his successor Rohl used him twice in cup competitions this season. He played only one minute in the Scottish Premiership, which came against Aberdeen FC in November.

The restricted rule under Rohl this season may have convinced him to leave Rangers permanently in search of regular minutes.

Still to fly after the Rangers get out

Rabbi Matondo has yet to showcase his talents since leaving Ibrox for SK Brann a few weeks ago.

Since moving to Norway, Brann manager Friar Alexandersson had left him as an unused substitute in the first two matches.

At the weekend, the former Rangers man came off the bench late on to play a minute in his team’s 3-2 defeat to Viking FK.

Spoke to the Wales international after the latest defeat bergens tidende And his comments were published in Monday’s edition of the newspaper.

The attacker was barely on the pitch after coming off the bench in the 96th minute.

Matondo is unhappy with both his position and the latest defeat.

“Of course we wanted better results,” He said.

“It wasn’t many minutes. In my mind, I’m more prepared than ever and I was expecting more minutes, but this is football. I feel ready for more than three-four minutes on the pitch. If I had more time I could help more.”

Our opinion: Welshman’s slow start not surprising

The former Rangers player only playing a few minutes for SK Brann should come as no surprise.

This is because before moving to Norway, Rabbi Matondo had only played 65 minutes for Rangers this season. This suggests he lacks match practice and may need time to adjust to a new club in a new country.

Barring any surprises, players should take their time trying to solidify their place in Brains.

Rangers want ‘substantial fee’ for transfer – Ibrox man is not short of options

ranger people

ranger people‘Youssef Chermiti has enjoyed good form since arriving at Ibrox from Everton in September 2025. He featured regularly under Russell Martin and has kept his place since Danny Rohl took charge in October.

The striker’s performances for Rangers convinced Fenerbahçe to make an attempt in the winter market.

Rohl’s side rejected their initial offer in January, and subsequently, Sport Witness broadcast news Fenerbahçe are pushing for a move away from Ibrox. The Yellow Canary was not successful as the 21-year-old is still at Rangers.

The Portugal U21 international has impressed for Rangers this season, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 36 appearances.

His Scottish Premiership statistics are as follows:

  • Appearances: 25
  • Start: 15
  • Total minutes: 1,523
  • Minutes per game: 61
  • Target: 61
  • Assist: 3
  • Expected target: 10.08
  • Expected Support: 1.34
  • Big chances missed: 16

Earlier this month, Sport Witness broadcast news of PSV Eindhoven as a substitute for him.

Solid interest from PSV in Rangers player

Africa Foot Now let’s focus on that and provide an update on the Eredivisie side’s efforts and Rangers’ stance.

The Dutch club have taken a further step forward by initiating contact with Youssef Charmiti’s agent over a potential summer transfer.

Although PSV Eindhoven are showing solid interest, the situation with Rangers is now a major hurdle.

Danny Rohl’s side intend to capitalize on the frontman’s upside, and they plan to collect a ‘substantial transfer fee’. There is no mention of a demand from the Ibrox club but it is not within PSV’s reach.

Before his move to Rangers, Spanish and English clubs tried to sign him. His performances for the Scottish club have seen him attract interest from clubs across Europe.

The report makes no mention of any other club apart from PSV, meaning he would have several options to leave Ibrox.

Therefore, PSV will have to act fast and convince both the player and Rangers to give them a chance to secure his services. This seems challenging mainly because of the fees required to please the Ibrox club.

Contract, price and agent information

transfer market Youssef Chermiti is now valued at €9m, who is under contract with Rangers until 2029.

Danny Rohl’s side could demand a much higher fee than that to part ways with him in the summer. The Ibrox man is represented by British agency, CAA Stellar.

Caps blown by Rangers in important games

The Washington Capitals (39-30-9) playoff chances took a big blow on Sunday night. They lost 8–1 completely against the last-place New York Rangers (33–36–9) at Madison Square Garden.

The Capitals looked to be in good shape after upsetting red-hot Buffalo on Saturday. However, a second period collapse and lack of coverage led to a significant loss on the road.

After the Rangers took an early 1–0 lead, Connor McMichael scored the only goal for the Capitals to tie the score at 1–1. The first period looked to be a more competitive contest.

Unfortunately, the second period is when the wheels completely came off for the Capitals. The defense broke down and Rangers surrendered five goals.

It was also a tough night for Charlie Lindgren, who had lost his last 10 games and was playing his second consecutive half. The 32-year-old netminder finished the night by stopping 24 of 32 shots.

With the loss, the Capitals are now three points behind the second wild card spot in the East and third place in the Metropolitan Division. Next, Washington will look to bounce back when they visit Toronto on Wednesday night.

capitals analysis

After Connor Sherry opened the scoring, Tom Wilson played a nice pass to McMichael for a breakaway goal to tie the score at 1–1. Unfortunately, that first period matchup was really the only highlight of Washington’s offense all night.

The middle structure is when the capitals became completely separate. First, the Rangers went on the power play as JT Miller deflected a rebound. Then, Will Cooley scored on an even play by going backdoor and redirecting the puck past Lindgren.

Quayle scored his second goal, beating Lindgren from the right circle and making the score 4–1 Rangers. Adam Sikora then capped the blowout with a one-timer and Adam Fox’s shot through traffic resulted in a power-play goal.

The Rangers led 6-1 at the second intermission as the Capitals had no answer. The defense looked shaky and Lindgren struggled in his first game since March 12.

Early in the third, Vincent Trocheck beat Lindgren in the five-hole to cut the Rangers’ lead to 7–1. Then, with 31.5 seconds remaining, Quayle fired away from the slot to finish the night with a hat trick.

The Capitals were so disappointed with the results that three players left the opposition. Jacob Chychrun, Brandon Duhaime and Hendricks Lapierre were all given five-minute majors.

While the Capitals had recently been successful based on individual gains, their struggles made a sudden return. The team went 0-3 on the power play, as they failed to create chances.

capitals report card

Team: F

The performance of the Capitals, who are trying to keep their playoff hopes alive, has been absolutely disappointing. That second period is further proof of this.

Charlie Lindgren 😀

It didn’t help that Lindgren sat out the last 10 games for Logan Thompson. The netminder looked lost in the net as he conceded eight goals.

Capitals Special Teams: F

Somehow, the Capitals’ special teams struggles returned in the worst way possible. The team went 0-3 on the power play and gave up two goals on the penalty kill.

Player ‘returning to Rangers soon’ – plus Ibrox transfer money eagerly awaited

In the winter market, Rangers manager Danny Rohl allowed Clinton Nsiala to leave Ibrox and go on loan to KVC Westerlo.

As part of the loan deal, Jupiler Pro League side have agreed a purchase option with Rangers.

The move allowed him to be reunited with former Rangers assistant manager Issam Charai at Westerlo. At Ibrox, he operated primarily as a centre-back, while Charizard used him as a left-back.

Meanwhile, another Belgian newspaper, Importance of LimburgThere is a report on serial killers.

The Belgian spent two years at Rangers and left Ibrox permanently to join Panathinaikos in September.

The 31-year-old striker had two separate spells in SK Tongeren’s academy. The first was in 2006–07 and the second was between 2009 and 2011. This allows them to receive a share of the fee from his sale to the Greek club.

Hubert Jackers is replacing Steven Van Gieteruyen as the new chairman of Tongeren. He gave an interview to HBVL, where he talked about waiting for money from Rangers.

The lower division Belgian club is going through difficult times and is desperately waiting for funds.

“I also want to emphasize that I am not just working on the recovery of the club. We have brought in some experts, so I am confident that everything will work out in the end. The negative situation of the club is being exaggerated. It is not as bad as some people are claiming.” He said.

“On the revenue side, we are still receiving income from sponsorships, membership fees and FIFA payments from Rangers and Panathinaikos for cereal desserts.

“The players’ dues will be cleared by the end of this month. So, I am optimistic as far as the license is concerned. We may still need to clarify a few things for the committee, but otherwise our application is largely complete.”

FIFA solidarity payments have been taking longer for many clubs in recent years. This suggests that this is a FIFA issue rather than Rangers and others dragging their feet.

Rangers’ asking price ‘key factor’ in Ibrox exit – Rohl’s side in control

Danny Rohl could be without Rangers’ Youssef Chermiti next season as PSV Eindhoven look to lure him away from Ibrox.

The striker graduated from Sporting’s youth system and left them for Everton in 2023. He played 295 minutes in 24 matches over two seasons with the Premier League team.

That didn’t stop Rangers from bringing him to Ibrox for £8million [€9.2m] In September, when Rohl’s predecessor, Martin Russell, was in charge.

The striker has been playing regularly for Rangers and has been showcasing his qualities this season.

His Scottish Premiership statistics are as follows:

  • Appearances: 23
  • Start: 14
  • Total minutes: 1,388
  • Minutes per game: 60
  • Target: 9
  • Help: 2

His performance on behalf of Rohl did not go unnoticed in the winter market. In January, Sports Witness broadcast news Fenerbahçe offered, but the deal never took shape.

Club maintains interest in Rangers man

PSV Eindhoven have now stepped forward to attempt to sign Youssef Chermiti in the summer window.

is according to eindhovens dagbladThe local newspaper of the Dutch club, covering the latest.

The Eredivisie side are pursuing the Rangers player along with other unnamed clubs. ED reports PSV discovered or were offered a number of players in the last window.

The 21-year-old was on their agenda in January and PSV will likely continue to keep an eye on him until the next window. Feyenoord also have him on their radar for 2025.

At the moment, the Dutch club do not have much interest in the Rangers player, which means signing him is not their priority.

The Portugal U21 international’s stance on a potential summer transfer to PSV has not been made clear in the report. Should he decide to leave Ibrox after this season, Rangers will have a decision to make.

ED says Rangers’ fee demand is a ‘crucial factor’ if Chermiti pushes for transfer. There is no mention of a figure, but it would certainly be in the double digits, meaning €10 million or more.

“We made a plan” – Rangers and Wolves get transfer boost

Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the clubs that have shown interest in a transfer to BK Hacken’s Silas Andersen. Danny Rohl’s side were keen to bring him to Ibrox in the winter market, but no decision could be reached.

Back in January, Sport Witness Covered claims from Denmark Rangers are ahead of Celtic in the transfer race.

It is unclear whether Rohl’s side are still keen to acquire the player’s services in the summer. If the Ibrox club is in the mix, they will face competition from Wolves and others.

On March 21, Khel Sakshi Covered claims from Sweden Premier League team wants to bring him with them Molineux after this season.

The midfielder joined the Swedish club from FC Utrecht in January 2025 and made 46 appearances, scoring six goals and three assists.

His league statistics last year are as follows:

  • Appearances: 26
  • Start: 24
  • Total minutes: 2,183
  • Minutes per game: 84
  • Duels won per game: 7.4
  • Balls recovered per game: 7.0
  • Tackles per game: 3.2
  • Clearance: 3.3

Last month, the 21-year-old signed a new contract, which runs until December 2029.

Rangers and Wolves transfer interest

bold Now report Danny Roehl’s Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers and FC Köln are set to sign Silas Andersson in January. BK Hacken also rejected the DKK 30m [€4m] Offer from German club.

The Denmark U21 international, for his part, signed an extension.

He represented his country in the last international break, giving Bould a chance to chat with him. They point to Rangers, Wolves and FC Köln links, and ask him what inspired him to sign an extension.

“Hacken thought I did well and showed a lot. He thought I deserved a little more pocket money, if you can call it that way. We had a little chat about a possible extension and it soon fell into place.” He said.

“I was very happy with what they presented me. I think it was about rewarding me for what I’ve done at the club – they wanted to give a bit back.”

“I’m really happy playing here. This is where I found success and that’s still continuing. When I came here we made a plan, which was that I would play a lot of games and develop myself.”

According to Bould, the plan is to change clubs in the next window and this will not change with the new contract.

This gives Rangers and Wolves a fresh opportunity to sign him and recent claims from Sweden state side Rob Edwards have him in the mix for the summer.

Contract, price and agent information

transfer market Silas Andersen was valued at €2m, and in January, BK Hacken became sporting director. Martin Ericsson emphasized His side are not ruling out selling him for SEC 100m [€9.2m].

Danish agency Pro 11 Management is looking after the interests and future of the players.

Devils Lose Game, Battle Rangers at MSG

The New Jersey Devils have dominated their cross-Hudson-rivals the New York Rangers over the past two seasons.

But the Rangers finally struck back Tuesday, both literally and figuratively.

The Rangers dominated from the start of the game, then Igor Shesterkin dealt a blow to both Jacob Markstrom and the Devils by setting up a much-discussed goalie fight at MSG and winning the game 4–1.

The Devils lost for the second time in three games, with both losses coming against a Metropolitan Division opponent. Their sad number, where they will be eliminated from Stanley Cup playoff contention, is six.

The Rangers have been one of the worst teams at home all season, and the Devils have skated circles around them the past two seasons.

But in a game the Devils needed to keep their faint playoff hopes alive, they were unprepared to play. New Jersey gave up nine high-danger chances in the first period and scored two goals, including JT Miller’s power-play goal, his second goal at the Garden all season.

Devils coach Sheldon Keefe said, “I thought they were really good tonight, and we weren’t nearly as good.” “Defensively, we weren’t as strong when it came time to defend.”

Devils captain Nico Hischier echoed Keefe’s sentiments.

“They played more tenaciously,” Hischier said. “They wanted it more, and they worked harder. … We couldn’t find a way.”

Markstrom made five saves in the first-period and stopped just 18 shots in the game. But the Devils got just eight high-danger scoring chances at 5-on-5 and surrendered 20 in all situations in the game.

“We have made life really difficult [Markstrom]Even when we didn’t need to,” Keefe said. “We’ve got to play better defense, and we’ve got to find ways to execute on offense.”

The much-publicized goaltender battle between Markstrom and Shesterkin will be talked about for years to come. Rangers members applauded their goalkeeper for fending off Markstrom’s challenge. But the Devils goalie explained why it was time for him to take on the 2022 Vezina Trophy winner.

“I felt like I needed to do something,” Markstrom said. “It’s disappointing to give up four goals, and you want to get involved, you want to do something. As a goalkeeper, that’s not really my job.

“We’re down 4-1, and I was just trying to get a spark or something.”

Keefe recognized Markstrom’s effort in trying to wake up his club by skating onto the rink and challenging Shesterkin to drop his gear, even though he took the brunt of Shesterkin’s punches.

“It shows what a competitor he is,” Keefe said. “At a moment like this, where we are in the season, it takes a lot of courage, but it also shows that you are a competitor to skate on the rink without hesitation and go and do that, then put your stuff back out and go out and shoot a penalty, that’s a pretty extraordinary thing to do.

“I thought he’s a guy who has struggled throughout the game. If anything, a fight like this should send a message to the group about how much they’re invested in [Markstrom] And we need the rest of the group at all times.”

“We have to be humble” – Rangers player sends message about mental focus

Rangers’ Youssef Chermity has issued a warning to his Portugal U21 team-mates ahead of their clash with Scotland U21 on Tuesday. Having played under Danny Rohl at Ibrox, he knows the opposition somewhat well.

Striker joins Rangers from Everton for around £8million [€9.2m] In September, when Russell Martin was at Ibrox.

A month later, he parted ways with the manager and appointed Rohl as his successor.

The 21-year-old has been a regular under Rohl at Ibrox and has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 34 appearances for Rangers.

His performances for Rangers helped him return to the Portugal U21 team in October for the first time since March 2024. The attacker has kept his place in Luis Freire’s team ever since. this was also caught Fenerbahçe’s attention in the winter market, but no move ever took shape.

Chermiti has scored two goals and one assist from four European qualifiers, and that includes a goal in their 4-0 win over Azerbaijan last Friday.

“I and the whole group expect a good game from our side. We have shown our quality throughout the qualifying round, and we will do everything to get the three points.” He said.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to watch the Scottish team, but they certainly have some teammates that I play against in the league. We expect an opponent that will come with everything and we are ready.”

The Rangers man dismisses suggestions of overconfidence.

“We have to stay humble, and we can’t think that the game will be easy or that the opponent is coming here to make it easy. The coaching staff has always told us to give our best,” Charmiti explained.

“An experience, you could say” – Celtic star on Rangers chaos and fan invasion

Celtic star Benjamin Nygren has admitted he didn’t know what to think when fans stormed the field following the win over rivals Rangers.

Soccer Scanlen has an interview Today with the 23-year-old. They discussed a variety of topics, including the incident that happened against Rangers at Ibrox earlier this month.

Hundreds of Celtic fans invaded the pitch following a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Danny Rohl’s side earlier this month.

Dramatic Celtic win leads to chaos

The attack began with Tomas Cavankara’s winning penalty, with Celtic fans storming the pitch from the Broomlawn Road stand. Rangers fans soon followed, leading to clashes on the pitch.

A member of the Celtic backroom coaching staff was also reportedly attacked during the chaos.

Several police officers, managers and fans were injured, with Police Scotland deploying mounted police and riot vans to restore order. Oliver Nygren witnessed the scene firsthand and admitted that it was quite an experience.

“It was a little chaotic but an experience, you could say. I’m glad we came away with the win,” He said.

“There’s always a lot of emotion in that match. There’s a lot of history between those clubs. You may have divided opinions about what happened after that.”

“No time to think”

The clash between Celtic and Rangers was the first time since 2018 that Celtic supporters were given their full allocation of 7,500 tickets at Ibrox.

Police later reported that some fans had entered the stadium without tickets, delaying the security operation earlier in the day. The Scottish Police Federation later claimed that commanders failed to respond quickly to the overcrowding.

He was not the only one who did not have time to think, Benjamin Nygren admitted that things changed very quickly.

“I didn’t have time to think,” He explained the result for Rangers.

“We won, celebrated on the field and suddenly a lot of fans came in and then from both sides. Then it was just a matter of going to the dressing room.”

For Benjamin Nygren, it was another reminder that Old Firm matches rarely end at the final whistle.

Celtic may have emerged victorious, but the chaotic scenes that followed ensured the result would be remembered for far longer than football.

Senators beat Rangers, but lose Chabot

In a game that the Senators could not afford to lose, they managed a 2–1 win over the New York Rangers. However, along the way, they lost two more defenders, including Thomas Chabot. Let’s get into the details.

The senators’ defense became even weaker

It’s time for a very fun recap. On March 7, Jake Sanderson was injured and has not yet returned. After two games, Nick Jensen was injured and was lost for the remainder of the season. Dennis Gilbert suffered an injury in the Senators’ last game, which will keep him out for some time. Tonight, Thomas Chabot left the game at the end of the first period after taking a crosscheck by JT Miller to the wrist area. Later, Lassie Thomson left the game in the second game due to injury.

The Senators played the second half of the game with only four defensemen. Their only left shot was D-man Tyler Kleven. It was Kleven who had to kill a full two minutes of penalties in the third period tonight due to injuries, as well as Jubb in the box.

As far as who’s name will be called next, the obvious answer is Carter Yakemchuk. He has had a great rookie season in the AHL with 10 goals and 36 points in 50 games. Of course, he shoots right-handed. The left shot D-man who will likely be the next call up is Jorian Donovan. Wouldn’t you know it, he’s hurt right now.

Stellar defensive play

The four remaining defensemen deserve all the credit in the world. Here they are by numbers:

  • spence: 1 assist, 4 shots, 2 blocked shots, 26:44 time on ice
  • cleven: 6 shots, 2 hits, 24:01 time on ice
  • when: 2 blocked shots, 23:15 of time on ice
  • mat fire: 5 blocked shots, 2 hits, 18:19 time on ice

Of course, the forwards also deserve a lot of credit, as the entire team supported such strong defensive play. Best position of the night? The Senators only gave up 9 shots.

additional comments

In general, Igor Shesterkin is a great goalkeeper. Against senators? He became the top Dominic Hasek! Coming into tonight, he was 6-1-2 with a .938 SV% and two shutouts. Tonight, he was the only reason the Rangers stayed in this game, saving 31 of the 33 shots he faced, including a number of tight saves. Warren Foegele with the Kings this season: 7 goals in 47 games. Foegele with the Senators: 5 goals in 9 games. What a wonderful contribution that has been. Now, the Senators must head straight to Detroit to play their biggest game of the year while remaining shorthanded. no pressure!

Rangers eye summer reinforcements – officials sent to Portugal, here’s who it could be

zaidoo sanusi
zaidoo sanusi

Rangers are already working on summer recruitment plans, and this process recently took their scouting network to Portugal.

The Ibrox club remains in the race for the title in the Scottish Premiership. However, Celtic’s pursuit of Hearts has also highlighted a lack of depth in a number of areas Danny Rohl’s Squad. Injuries and rotation demands have forced the Rangers to rely heavily on a relatively small number of players throughout the season.

The midfield should be boosted by the expected return of Connor Barron in April. Nevertheless, planning for the next window continues behind the scenes. As a result, Rangers scouts were present at the Estadio do Dragão on Sunday to watch FC Porto face Moreranse.

As reported, the Scottish Premiership side was one of several clubs monitoring the match record. Representatives from Sevilla, Saint-Étienne, Alaves and Stuttgart were also in attendance.

The game proved straightforward for Porto, who secured a comfortable 3–0 victory at home.

Porto’s attacking talent attracts attention

Porto’s performance featured several standout performances in the eyes of Rangers and the local press highlighted several players.

midfielder Victor Froholdt Kept the tempo under control throughout the match. The Danish player provided two assists while setting up goals for Oskar Pietuszewski and William Gomes. His influence spread across the pitch, with strong involvement in transition and defensive work.

Pietuszewski also attracted attention. The Polish winger scored the second goal for Porto and has now scored three times in four matches. His pace and direct running caused constant problems for the Moreirense defence.

Despite conceding three goals, Moreense goalkeeper André Ferreira made six saves to keep the scoreline respectable for the visitors.

Meanwhile, their usual top performers did not rise to the occasion. Attacking midfielder Allen played as a striker and failed to perform. Young centre-back Diogo Travassos also had trouble stopping Porto’s efforts.

Despite strong performances, most of Porto’s standout players will likely sit beyond Rangers’ realistic transfer reach. The Portuguese giants regularly charge substantial fees for their leading talents.

Two experienced options could fit Rangers profile

ranger guys

However, if Rangers are indeed monitoring the game with recruitment in mind, the two players involved in the match may represent more sensible targets.

One is 28-year-old left-back Zaidu Sanusi. Sanusi started the match and played for 65 minutes before being substituted. Having spent several seasons at Porto and gaining experience of European competition, the Nigerian international offers athleticism and experience.

A natural attacking full-back, Sanusi provides pace down the flanks and defensive recovery pace. Those qualities may appeal to Rangers, especially given the physical demands of Scottish football.

Another interesting profile is that of 29-year-old holding midfielder Pablo Rosario.

Rosario entered the match in the 66th minute replacing Sanusi and Porto reshaped their formation. Operating centrally, he completed 24 of his 28 passes, a success rate of 86%. He was particularly secure in possession in deep areas, completing all nine of his passes in his own half. He also recovered the ball twice in the defensive zone.

Although neither player is one of Porto’s major stars, both bring experience and tactical reliability. For a Rangers side looking to strengthen squad depth while remaining financially disciplined, profiles like Sanusi and Rosario could represent sensible additions. danny rohl.

And with the summer drawing to a close, Rangers’ scouting presence in Portugal suggests the search is already well underway.

7 Best Football Regions in the World: A Must-Read for Every Indian Football Fan

7 Best Football Regions in the World: A Must-Read for Every Indian Football Fan

Football is no longer just a “Western sport” for Indians. From the late-night screenings of the English Premier League to the massive craze for the FIFA World Cup in Kerala, Bengal, and Goa, the beautiful game has captured the Indian heart. But have you ever wondered where the world’s best football actually comes from?

For an Indian fan looking to understand the global landscape, here are the 7 best football regions in the world that define the sport today.

1. Western Europe (The Big Five)

When we talk about football, we usually mean Western Europe. Home to the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and German Bundesliga, this region is the financial and competitive heart of the sport. For Indian fans, this is where stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi built their legacies. The tactical discipline and high broadcast quality make this the most-watched region in India.

2. South America (CONMEBOL)

If Europe is the heart, South America is the soul. Countries like Brazil and Argentina produce raw, rhythmic talent that resonates deeply with Indian supporters. The “Joga Bonito” style of Brazil is particularly famous in the football belts of Kolkata. This region is known for producing “street footballers” who rely on flair, dribbling, and individual brilliance.

3. South Asia (The Rising Giant)

While historically not a powerhouse, South Asia—led by India—is the fastest-growing football market. The Indian Super League (ISL) has brought professional standards to the subcontinent. With a massive population and increasing investment in grassroots academies, the Blue Tigers are slowly clawing their way up the FIFA rankings, making this an exciting region to watch for homegrown fans.

4. West Africa

Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal are the powerhouses of African football. Known for their incredible physicality, speed, and endurance, West African players dominate European leagues. Many Indian fans admire the underdog spirit of these teams during the World Cup, where they often pull off massive upsets against established giants.

5. The Balkans (South-Eastern Europe)

Nations like Croatia and Serbia punch way above their weight. Despite small populations, they produce world-class midfielders and defenders. Croatia reaching the 2018 World Cup final is a testament to the technical education and resilience found in this region—a great case study for Indian football development.

6. East Asia

Japan and South Korea are the gold standards for Asian football. Their success is built on discipline, high-press tactics, and incredible work rates. For India, East Asia serves as a realistic benchmark. Seeing Japan defeat giants like Germany shows that Asian teams can compete at the highest level through structural planning.

7. North Africa (The Maghreb)

Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria offer a unique blend of African physicality and European technicality. Morocco’s historic semi-final run in the 2022 World Cup united fans across India and the global south. This region is home to some of the most passionate fan cultures and legendary clubs like Al Ahly.

Conclusion

Football is a global language, but each region speaks it with a different dialect. For the Indian football fan, understanding these regions helps in appreciating the tactical diversity of the sport. Whether it’s the flair of South America or the discipline of East Asia, there is a world of inspiration for India to draw from as we continue our own journey toward becoming a global footballing nation.

Rangers’ drama now looks like self-harm – not agreeing an early transfer would backfire

Hansa Rostock may regret the transfer drama they made over Ryan Naderi after Danny Roehl’s departure to Rangers has been a blow to them.

at least that’s how it is Could be anything from BILD to latest. They cover Division 3 today and how ‘promotion alarm bells’ are now ringing. The newspaper reports that Hansa has now lost four games without a win. These are two draws and two defeats. His promotion target is now faltering.

Naderi is yet to win a game since joining Rangers in a €6m deal in the January transfer window. Although their strikers are performing well, it is not enough. Last weekend they suffered a 1-0 defeat despite dominating possession and creating chances.

‘Painful pattern’ since Rangers transfer

A ‘painful pattern’ is also emerging. Rostock simply doesn’t win ‘top matches’. So far, 33 of their 40 points have come against teams below seventh place. Now players are sounding the alarm, including midfield engine Marco Schuster.

He said, “It’s always the same: When the competition gives us a slight head start, we often fail to deliver the final blow.”

“If we want to achieve our big goals, we definitely need to take it up a notch. We just need to be more hungry, especially in the penalty area.”

Naderi could help with that particular problem. Instead, he is enjoying life at his new club in Scotland. And for Hansa there is no one else to blame except him.

Sport Witness covered his long move to Rangers at the end of the transfer and the drama surrounding it. Much of this was due to Hansa and their sporting directors.

For example, Rangers initially offered Naderi to stay at the German club until the end of the season.

They were more than happy to delay his arrival at Ibrox, help him boost their team and then make a move in the summer. Naderi agreed to such a deal as well.

However, the Germans pushed hard and eventually sold Rangers at the end of the window on a permanent basis.

Now, as a result, they sit six points adrift of the automatic promotion places without a win since the 22-year-old left.

James Dolan reveals plan to potentially divest Knicks, Rangers for MSG

There is a possibility that Madison Square Garden Sports CEO James Dolan is taking steps to split the New York Knicks and Rangers, the city’s NBA and NHL teams, into two separate publicly traded companies.

Reports have emerged that MSG’s board of directors has approved a plan to “rediscover its hockey and basketball clubs” (via The New York Times).

If this occurs, the Knicks and their G League team, the Westchester Knicks, will become a separate company from the Rangers and their minor league team, the Hartford Wolf Pack, will similarly be spun off into a separate company.

Still, nothing is “guaranteed to happen” and “there is no timeline in mind to complete this move.” Therefore, fans will have to keep an eye on the situation.

“We are exploring the opportunity to create value for our shareholders by separating our two professional sports franchises into separate companies,” Dolan said in a statement, via The New York Times. “Both the Knicks and Rangers are dominant teams in their respective leagues, with storied histories and large and passionate fan bases.

He further added, “We believe this proposed transaction will provide each company with greater strategic flexibility, its own defined business focus and clearer attributes for investors.”

Will James Dolan and Madison Square Garden split the Knicks and Rangers?

While Madison Square Garden’s board approved the plan, there were other factors involved. Both the NBA and NHL would have to approve the move. The New York Times also notes that “There are other views.”

Regarding the reason for this, some are speculating that such a move would make it “easier” for Dolan to sell one of the franchises. In 1994 the Dolan family became minority owners of the franchise. Shortly thereafter, he became the majority owner.

Dolan is adamant that he has no interest in selling teams. However, he and MSG executives have stated their interest in selling a minority stake.

Another possible reason for the move, as The New York Times notes, is that it could serve as a “precursor” to making the Knicks and Rangers privately traded teams. They are both currently publicly traded.

Rangers target Lassana Coulibaly
Rangers target Lassana Coulibaly

Rangers improved Danny Rohl’s squad as four new players arrived at Ibrox in the winter market.

New signings Ryan Naderi and Andreas Skov Olsen have already scored for Rangers, while Ture Romans managed an assist.

Rohl’s side are second in the table, two points behind leaders Hearts, and one point ahead of third-placed Celtic, who have a game in hand.

Rangers are fighting for the title this season and are also working on improving their squad over the summer.

Rangers in the picture for Coulibaly

The Ibrox club have now set their sights on US Lecce’s Lassana Coulibaly. this is it Africa Foot are reporting, and Rangers are among the contenders to sign the 29-year-old.

Africa Foot have named the Scottish club in a report which mainly focuses on Saudi interest in the midfielder.

Al-Fateh SC have moved to sign the Mali international and have made him their main target.

He joined the Serie A team in August 2024 after spending three years with US Salernitana. The player, who has established himself in Italy over the past five years, has played 61 matches for Lecce.

Koulibaly is also a regular player for the national team and has played four matches in the AFCON. His performances in Morocco have attracted the interest of Al-Fateh, and the club have cleared his profile internally for the summer.

The Middle East club have had positive discussions with his camp and are optimistic about reaching a deal with Lecy. The report states that Lecce are prepared to let the player leave for €4-5m.

Al-Fateh faces competition from Rohal and others

The Saudi Pro League side aim to finalize the deal quickly, mainly due to the increasing competition. This occurs whenever the Ibrox club is mentioned.

Africa Foot report Rangers, Trabzonspor, Red Star Belgrade and unnamed Italian and Spanish clubs are also keen on Koulibaly.

In short, Rangers are in contention to sign him, and Rohl’s side could offer Lecce €4m to bring him to Ibrox.

Devil’s Barometer; Rangers offer sheet?

There was no men’s Olympic hockey yesterday, a day before play-ins to solidify the quarterfinals. That way, all the New Jersey Devils in attendance could enjoy a day in Milan, Italy before things got better.

We checked out how each of the Seven Devils is performing up to this point. The barometer is linked below.

Elsewhere, are the Blueshirts ready to draw an offer sheet this summer? Perhaps the promotion in Detroit is exaggerated. And a shocking suspension from France.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devil’s Trade Rumors and News

NHL Trade Talk, News and National Hockey Now

This was an interesting choice. This probably isn’t something the San Jose Sharks or Jeff Skinner envisioned when he signed to play in California this summer. However, the Sharks are shopping Skinner. He is on unconditional remission till 2 pm tomorrow, which is likely to clear later today.

The Athletic ($): I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this. But, the French Olympic Federation suspended Pierre Crinnon for the remainder of the Olympics for his fight with Tom Wilson. The IIHF and Canada did not suspend one of the NHL’s finest agitators.

Forever Blueshirts: Is an offer sheet an option for the New York Rangers to re-sign this summer? Here are some names they may target.

Carson Soucy Scores Stunning Sharp-Angle Goal Against Former Team Rangers

Carson Soucy Scores Stunning Sharp-Angle Goal Against Former Team Rangers: A Night of Incredible Hockey Scores

For sports fans in India who follow the high-octane world of the NHL (National Hockey League), the latest matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the New York Rangers was nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece. The highlight of the night? A breathtaking, physics-defying goal from defenceman Carson Soucy against his former squad.

While cricket often dominates the Indian sports landscape, the sheer speed and precision of hockey scores in the NHL are gaining a dedicated following. On this particular night, Soucy proved why he is a vital asset on the blue line, turning a routine play into a viral sensation.

The Goal That Defied Gravity

The moment happened in the heat of the game when Soucy found himself deep in the offensive zone, tight against the boards near the goal line. Usually, from such a “sharp angle,” players look to pass or dump the puck behind the net. Instead, Soucy spotted a microscopic gap above the goaltender’s shoulder.

With a flick of the wrist, he sent the puck soaring from an almost impossible angle. The puck clipped the inside of the post and tucked itself into the top corner, leaving the Rangers’ defense and the Madison Square Garden crowd in stunned silence. Scoring against a former team always carries an extra bit of satisfaction, but doing it with such technical brilliance made it the talk of the hockey world.

Understanding the Impact on Hockey Scores

In the NHL, every goal carries immense weight in the standings. For those tracking hockey scores today, this goal served as a momentum shifter. Soucy’s strike wasn’t just about individual glory; it provided the spark his team needed to challenge one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference.

The New York Rangers, known for their elite goaltending and structured defense, rarely concede goals from such low-percentage areas. Soucy’s ability to exploit a momentary lapse in positioning highlights the elite level of skill present in modern ice hockey—a spectacle that is increasingly attracting Indian viewers on streaming platforms like Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar.

Why Carson Soucy’s Performance Matters

Carson Soucy has built a reputation as a reliable, physical defender. However, showing this offensive flair against a team that previously traded him adds a layer of “revenge game” narrative that fans love. For Indian enthusiasts new to the sport, these storylines make following the grueling 82-game season much more engaging.

Conclusion

Carson Soucy’s sharp-angle goal against the New York Rangers will undoubtedly be featured in “Goal of the Year” montages. It served as a reminder that in hockey, no angle is too narrow and no lead is safe. As hockey scores continue to fluctuate in this highly competitive NHL season, performances like Soucy’s keep fans on the edge of their seats from Vancouver to New Delhi. Whether you are a die-hard Rangers fan or a neutral observer, the skill on display was a testament to why ice hockey is the fastest game on Earth.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Who is Carson Soucy?

Carson Soucy is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL. He previously played for the Seattle Kraken, Minnesota Wild, and the New York Rangers.

2. What is a “sharp-angle goal” in hockey?

A sharp-angle goal occurs when a player shoots the puck from a position very close to the goal line or the sideboards, where the visible “opening” of the net is extremely small from the shooter’s perspective.

3. Where can I check live hockey scores in India?

Indian fans can check live NHL scores on the official NHL app, ESPN, or through Google’s real-time sports updates. Many games are also available for highlights on YouTube.

4. Did the Rangers win the game?

While Soucy’s goal was a highlight, NHL games are teeter-to-totter affairs. You can check the final tally on the “Hockey Scores” section of major sports news websites to see how the Rangers responded.

5. Why is this goal significant for Soucy?

It is significant because it was scored against his former team (the Rangers) and demonstrated a level of offensive skill that is rare for a defensive-minded player.

Rangers approach Premier League club for double transfer raid as Danny Rohl targets title charge

Rangers have reportedly made enquiries to Sunderland for duo Dan Neil and Romaine Mundle.

Despite playing a key role in the Black Cats’ promotion to the Premier League last season, the pair have seen their playing time limited this term.

Academy graduate Neil captained his hometown club in their Play-Off Final win over Sheffield United at Wembley in May.

However, he has only featured three times in the top-flight in the 2025/26 campaign, having been replaced by Granit Xhaka in the Sunderland midfield.

Meanwhile, after a breakthrough year in the Championship last season, winger Mundle is yet to start in the top-flight this term.

Sky Sports report that the 22-year-old is keen for more regular game time, with Sunderland open to allowing him to leave on loan this month.

As for Neil, he is said to be on the radar of some Championship clubs, and is out of contract in the summer.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris appeared to suggest both players could be allowed to leave in January.

When asked about the prospect of Mundle leaving, he said: “If a player won’t play too much in the second part of the season, there is the possibility for him to find another club to get minutes.”

Rangers alert to Sunderland duo

It appears Rangers are alert to Neil and Mundle’s situations, with head coach Danny Rohl prioritising recruitment in January.
