Rapid West Ham exit likely – summer transfer considered for January arrival

of west ham united The Premier League situation is starting to create transfer noise around Taty Castellanos again – and Flamengo are right in the middle of it.

The Hammers are now dangerously close to relegation after defeat by Arsenal and need a miracle to survive. With just two matches remaining, West Ham will need maximum points and help elsewhere to avoid the drop.

That context inevitably brings flamengo back in the picture.

Flamengo’s interest refuses to disappear

As previously covered by Sport WitnessFlamengo have long admired Castellanos.

The Brazilian side had already explored the possibility of signing the striker before his transfer from Lazio to West Ham United. At the time, the Argentine preferred to pursue his Premier League dream instead.

Now, Brazilian reports once again suggest that Flamengo are monitoring the situation closely while searching for attacking troops.

report in brazil There are claims that if the contract is confirmed West Ham players will face a 50% pay cut due to the terms contained in the contract.

Castellanos’ wages are said to be around £75,000 a week, making him one of the club’s better-paid players, even if he is not among the highest earners.

The important thing is that it is completely built around allegations and counter-allegations. The latest claims have linked any potential move directly to West Ham joining the Championship.

there is also one Recent relations between clubs Which can help in negotiations as the situation evolves. Flamengo have already held talks with West Ham for Lucas Paqueta and the Hammers have also been linked Gonzalo Plata in recent months.

The profile is still seen as ideal

Brazilian coverage continued to describe Castellanos as the perfect stylistic fit for Flamengo’s attack.

His sheer intensity, movement between defenders and aggressive off-ball work have all been highlighted as internationally admired qualities. The report also points to his experience in competitive leagues, having played in MLS, La Liga, Serie A and now the Premier League.

That versatility remains attractive, even if his magic has yet to come alive at West Ham.

what happens next

At the moment, there is no sign of active negotiations between Flamengo and Castellanos’ camp.

West Ham’s immediate priority is survival. However, as promotion approaches, greater outside interest around the players becomes inevitable.

Flamengo are clearly positioning themselves cautiously. He has admired Castellanos for years, he knows that market conditions can change rapidly, and he already has communication channels with West Ham.

Whether this translates into a formal effort will depend on the next few weeks in England.

Since moving to Heidenheim, he has so far failed to score or assist, but that hasn’t hurt Southampton.

FC Heidenheim are now at the bottom of the table [18 teams in the Bundesliga] With 16 points, seven points behind 16th-place FC St. Pauli.

Conteh is not the only attacker on Southampton’s list. Earlier this month, Sport Witness broadcast news Saints, Leeds United and Watford are set to sign Paris FC’s Ilan Kebble.

Midseason acquisition making ‘rapid progress’ toward Phoenix debut

Will the Phoenix Suns’ newest acquisition, Haywood Highsmith, make his season debut on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings? The 6-foot-5 forward is unsure himself.

He was given a timetable of two to three weeks to return from knee surgery in August 2025. From the moment he arrived at the Valley of the Sun, Highsmith was committed to being ready for the final stages of the season.

“Doing a lot of work. Making good progress. Making progress faster than they thought and getting more comfortable every time working with rehab and stuff. Just looking good and feeling good,” Highsmith said during Tuesday’s shootaround, via AZCentral’s Duane Rankin on Ax (formerly Twitter).

The former Miami Heat forward has defensive ability, which Phoenix was very interested in acquiring. After the Suns executed at the NBA trade deadline, they vacated a roster spot.

The signing of Highsmith was a bit of a surprise, given how he fits into Miami’s culture. But he fits seamlessly into Phoenix head coach Jordan Ott’s defensive scheme of players who can switch and be versatile on that end.

What can Haywood Highsmith bring to the Suns?

Defense, defense, and more defense. Despite not being the best offensive player, this was his calling card. However, Highsmith developed into a good 3-point shooter, getting 42 starts last season.

The 3-and-D philosophy will never go away in the NBA, and as long as a player can be effective on both sides, it’s usually a recipe for success.

And with Jordan Goodwin scheduled to be evaluated in about a week or two, Highsmith’s appearance comes at a critical time. Like Goodwin, the newest addition to the team will bring his own calling card.

“Defensively, that’s what I do. Pressing. Picking up, being that dog defensively. Crashing the glass, being a good shooter, playing off guys like (Jalen Green and Devin Booker) as a spot up shooter and just bringing that energy,” Highsmith said via Rankin.

“Just being a tough, solid guy and doing the intangibles and doing whatever it takes to win.”

No-ego is an automatic green flag for Suns, and they may find themselves a perennial lockdown savior. Now it remains to be seen whether he is fit on Tuesday despite no injury report.

Mitch Johnson talks San Antonio draft pick’s rapid improvement amid Player of the Week honors

San Antonio Spurs forward Harrison Ingram has spent much of this season honing his skills behind the scenes. The quiet development of the 2024 second-round pick has been a source of satisfaction within the Spurs organization.

Ingram was named G League Player of the Week after averaging 22.2 points, 13.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists in his last five appearances with the Austin Spurs. He recorded four double-doubles and one triple-double, while Austin posted a 4–1 record.

Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson said of Ingram’s development, “The Player of the Week is definitely trending in the right direction.” “I think it’s always somewhat gratifying for him, somewhat beneficial as an organization and a staff, and somewhat fun when you have a young player in your program for a year and they’re grinding, especially when you’re in the G League and it can be a little out of sight, out of mind to the outside world. You’re selling them on slowly getting better and keeping up with the process.

“It can be hard for young guys when, sometimes, they don’t get the attention or direct feedback that they’re looking for or that they’re used to, especially because a lot of them end up being really good college players. So it’s great for him to continue to be that way and see the improvement and development that he’s had and to be recognized in a very deserving way.”

Ingram, the No. 48 pick in the 2024 draft out of North Carolina, has spent most of this season in the G League, appearing in just five NBA games.

The 6-foot-5 forward’s two-way development with Austin has been encouraging for San Antonio. Ingram is averaging 16.1 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists on 48.2 percent shooting in 21 G League appearances.

“He’s really accepted his role and embraced it,” Johnson said. “It can be hard to do that in terms of your role as a defender, a physical role player, playing off the ball to a certain extent. But always trying to extend or create more possessions with offensive rebounds, hitting open shots, getting out and running in transition, and obviously we want him to be a dominant defender and be able to rebound. I think that’s something he’s really embraced and you’ve seen it. And sometimes when you do that If you do it, you get a monster production with it, you can tell he has put his energy in the right places.”

The Spurs signed Ingram to a one-year, two-way contract before this season.

DOF praises Norwich after January deal – watching the Canaries’ rapid success story with interest

Randers director of football Soren Pedersen has revealed that he is due to various bonus provisions in the deal that saw him sell Mohamed Toure to Norwich City.

Bold cover comments from Randers chief today. He was more than happy to talk about the sale of the Striker. The deal he signed with Norwich could prove fruitful for the 21-year-old.

Toure joined the Canaries on a €3m deal at the end of the January transfer window. Sport Witness covered it at the time, Explaining how he quickly completed negotiations for the striker.

norwich deal

So far the deal seems to be a profitable one. The Australian has performed brilliantly at Carrow Road, scoring four goals in two matches so far in the Championship. This included a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Oxford United last weekend.

It took just 47 minutes to achieve this. He became the first player since September 2013 to debut with a hat-trick in England’s top four divisions. Norwich have not seen a player achieve such a start since 1966.

iToure has made a high-flying start to life as a Canary, with a goal also in the FA Cup.

Randers is watching his performance closely. He joined them in July 2024 for €250,000, and recorded 12 goals and nine assists in 48 games for the club.

There’s more to come from Norwich

Their sale to Norwich was the joint second largest in their history. Tamar Benny’s €4m transfer to West Brom in 2024 is in that spot. However, Pederson is pleased with their conversation.

“The talks with Norwich were good,” he said.

“They showed understanding of our demands and the possibilities we see. I can’t comment on the numbers, but can only say that it’s a good Randers sale.

“So, it’s clear that if he had played the whole autumn, as he has started at Norwich, the price would probably have been different.

“But that wasn’t the case, and that’s why we’re proud of the sales we made. We’re certainly looking forward to both receiving the various bonuses and the opportunity to realize the existing resale segment. Because that has the potential to go really far.”
