John Textor reacts to reports of latest price cuts at Nottingham Forest

nottingham forest Danilo’s previous quest has taken another twist. John Textor is now publicly denying claims he tried to lure the midfielder back to the Premier League club for just €4.6m (£4m).

The allegation has attracted attention. this is because Earlier reports in Brazil Danilo’s proposed Nottingham Forest valuation was put at €19m (£16.4m).

Since then, the midfielder has become one of Botafogo’s standout performers, earning a place in Brazil’s latest squad and expected to be part of the country’s World Cup plans.

Meanwhile, Texter has been banned from Botafogo and left behind with growing financial problems that are making headlines in Brazil.

Against that backdrop, the emergence of very low figures has inevitably sparked debate.

New claims have emerged on the proposed deal

The latest chapter comes from Brazil, where Botafogo’s administration recently presented details of the club’s financial situation following Textor’s removal from control of the club.

According to the report of network fireOfficials have revealed that Nottingham Forest are owed €32.4m (£28m) in debt. This debt was accumulated during Textor’s management.

More specifically for Forest supporters, it was claimed that Textor’s proposed solution included sending Danilo to the City Ground on a deal worth just €4.6m (£4m) during the first half of 2026.

The move was reportedly blocked by Botafogo’s board before completion.

This immediately stood out as it was quite a departure from the statistics previously associated with the midfielder.

Earlier reports had suggested Danilo was part of talks involving a valuation of €19m (£16.4m). However, legal disputes and governance issues at Botafogo halted those discussions.

At this stage, it is not clear whether the reports refer to two separate proposed transactions or simply conflicting valuations of the same deal.

Danilo’s stock has increased dramatically

When the earlier negotiations emerged, Danilo was already an important player for Botafogo. Since then his reputation has increased a lot.

The midfielder has become one of the club’s key performers and was recently included in the Brazil national team in the final squad announcement before the World Cup squad is confirmed.

It is a very different profile to the player being discussed in a €4.6m (£4m) deal. now he is being chased Some of the biggest clubs in England. Botafogo is demanding up to €40m (£34m).

Texter issues strong denial

Of course, the texter has responded directly to the allegations. Posting on Instagram he denied that Danilo was set to be sold to Nottingham Forest for €4.6m (£4m). He also accused Botafogo’s current leadership of misrepresenting the proposal.

He wrote:

“Wake up, everyone. Every day it’s another distorted slander. The transaction being discussed was a sale in which the past dues required by FIFA would be respected while the player would remain at Botafogo.”

“This would have been followed by a significant injection of cash capital, as has now been proposed by the same organisation.”

“There is evidence that this would have generated significant cash flow for the club. They think you are an idiot and will believe anything you say.”

According to Texter, this operation was far more complex than a straightforward transfer fee. This should not be interpreted as a €4.6m (£4m) valuation of the player.

are back in the nottingham forest story

As we covered earlierForest have already signed Igor Jesus and Jair following transactions involving Botafogo. Deals have also been made with other clubs within Textor’s network. Danilo has repeatedly been involved in discussions between the two clubs.

The texter says the description is incorrect. However, the controversy has once again put Nottingham Forest at the center of the ongoing fallout from his turbulent final months at Botafogo.

In fact, Dutra’s words strongly suggest that Grêmio are preparing for that moment to finally come.

Newcastle’s latest club in pictures

Mitch Johnson reacts to gaining home court advantage in the first round

The San Antonio Spurs barely broke a sweat in their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday at the FedExForum as they ran away with a lopsided 123-98 victory.

The Spurs demonstrated their strength from the beginning, defeating the Grizzlies 38-19. From there it was just a formality. San Antonio won its seventh consecutive game and improved to 55–18.

The Spurs also secured homecourt advantage in the first round, returning to the playoffs after a six-year absence.

San Antonio coach Mitch Johnson acknowledged this significant gainBut as Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reported, he also remained quiet about it.

Johnson said, “I would expect it to be loud with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. But it’s still a little bit away, so hopefully we can keep getting better and make some improvements in a lot of areas.”

The 39-year-old Johnson is in his first full season with the Spurs after taking over from Gregg Popovich. He has big shoes to fill, but clearly, he’s up for the challenge.

He has molded the team into a two-way force. They have guys like Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Cassel, De’Aaron Fox and Devin Vassell playing comfortably, while finding the right role for Keldon Johnson and utilizing Dylan Harper off the bench.

The last time the Spurs were in the playoffs in 2020, Johnson was still an unknown deputy to Popovich. But the seeds were being sown, and because of his deep knowledge of the game and inherent leadership, it was only a matter of time until he was tapped to have a shot.

Now, Johnson and the Spurs are on their way to success.

Jose Alvarado reacts to first MSG start amid Jalen Brunson injury

No Jalen Brunson, no problem. Even without their key player, the New York Knicks recorded an easy 136-110 win over the Indiana Pacers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

Brunson missed the game with an ankle injury and a neck strain. He had not missed a competition since January.

A big factor in the Knicks’ victory was Jose Alvarado, who replaced Brunson in the starting lineup. He scored 16 points on 5 of 10 shooting, including four three-pointers, two rebounds, 10 assists and two steals.

Before tip-off, Alvarado was introduced as being from Christ the King High School. Players are usually introduced to their alma mater in college. When SNY asked about this, they told a slight change felt appropriate.

“I just wanted to show love for the school in the city where I went. Thanks to my college, I’m definitely grateful for my college. But the debut at The Garden was meant to represent the city where I grew up,” explained Alvarado, who was born and raised in Brooklyn.

The 27-year-old guard played four years at Georgia Tech, earning two All-ACC team honors and winning the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award in 2021.

Alvarado has been a solid midseason pick-up for the Knicks, providing instant energy, defensive intensity and shooting off the bench. In 18 games, he has averaged 6.2 points, 4.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 17.0 minutes.

He’s a perfect fit for the Knicks’ culture, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he earns a bigger role in the playoffs.

Avdija said, “I know there were a lot of people at home watching the game tonight. It’s amazing.” “It’s a big deal to me especially [since Ben and I] Grew up next to each other. Like 20 minutes away from each other. It’s amazing to watch him score and thrive in the league. Danny too… I was definitely surprised to see Barclays Center packed. It means a lot to me. I don’t have words to explain how much support he gave me and my teammates. I’m very happy to have this crowd behind me. I’m glad they saw us play tonight.”

Avdija has had a breakout season, leading the Trail Blazers to the Western Conference play-ins. The All-Star forward has averaged 24.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 53 appearances.

Meanwhile, Saraf and Wolf are attempting to carve out roles with the rebuilding Nets after being selected No. 26 and No. 27 in June’s draft. Saraf said his relationship with Avdija began last year when his Ratiopharm Ulm team faced the Trail Blazers during the NBA preseason.

“Since then, we have been in touch all the time… it was great [facing Deni tonight]. “I was waiting for this game for a long time,” Saraf told reporters. “He is a great person, a very good friend of mine. especially with danny wolf [playing]Very. Three Israelis on the court at the same time. This was something very special… [Deni’s] had a huge impact [on basketball in Israel]. Everyone in Israel followed him throughout the year. Everyone was supporting. Israelis know how big a deal it was to have the first Israeli All-Star. it was very big. So, we are all very happy for him.”

Saraf struggled in his rookie season bouncing between the NBA and G League. However, the 6-foot-6 guard has played his best basketball recently, averaging 11.8 points and 4.8 assists on 53.1 percent shooting in his last four appearances. He scored a season-high 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting while dishing out four assists on Monday.

“[Ben’s] “Maybe this newbie is going through things like I did,” Avdija said. It’s probably fatigue, and it’s probably not knowing how to take care of the body, but it looks like he’s doing a good job. It seems like he is very tough and hard nosed. He knows how to play basketball. I’m always here for him, but I think he’s doing really good.

Wolf, who grew up in Illinois, became a naturalized Israeli citizen and played for the national team at the 2023 FIBA U20 European Championship. After a breakout season at Michigan, he showed encouraging flashes as a rookie with Brooklyn.

Wolf averaged 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 54 appearances. The 21-year-old said he could “100 percent” imagine himself playing alongside Avdija and Saraf on the Israeli national team “if the opportunity arises.”

Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez, who rose through the NBA ranks after coming to the United States from Spain, talked about the importance of Monday’s game.

“Yeah, it’s special,” Fernandez said. “When the U.S. and other countries outside of Europe can be represented here with three players, it means the world, and it’s a special day that everyone has to enjoy. And I think they already are… I don’t know Danny, but I’m sure he’s excited to play. I know Ben and Danny are. And it’s cool. This is one of the two times we’ll see it, and hopefully for many years to see how these guys move forward.” “Obviously Denny’s having a career year and getting better and better over the years. And it’s so interesting to see them play against each other.”

Kevin Durant reacts to Lakers’ strategy that silenced them in clutch

Kevin Durant has a ton of one-on-one counters, making him one of the greatest one-on-one scorers of all time. But things are different in a team setting. Durant faced an offensive scheme in the second half of the Houston Rockets’ Monday night contest against the Los Angeles Lakers, as the Lakers threw multiple defenders at the Rockets star at every turn to get the ball out of his hands.

This ploy of the Lakers worked; Durant remained quiet throughout the second half of the Rockets’ 100–92 loss, scoring just two points in the second half and finishing with 18 on the night. This was not at all the kind of performance that Houston needed from their best scorer in a game where they were missing Alperen Sengun.

After the game, Durant reflected on what he and the Rockets were doing should have done instead To try and counter the Lakers’ double-teaming.

“I think we just have to convert. Maybe I just have to move out of the way, go to the corner, make space for other guys. When I get the ball against some teams, they’re just going to sell out,” Durant said in his postgame presser, via WorldwideWeb on X (formerly Twitter).

“I’m starting to understand that I feel like I need to get out of the way and let other people dribble the ball.”

The Rockets’ youth will have to step up to help Kevin Durant.

Durant is not innocent at all; He attempted to become a game starter for the Rockets, which went straight into the Lakers’ hands.

However, the Rockets’ youngsters, namely Reed Shepard, Jabari Smith Jr. and Amen Thompson, will have to be more active in receiving the rock and making plays. This is going to be a learning moment for Houston, especially with less than a month until the playoffs begin.

Doug Christie reacts to Sacramento’s move on NBA draft bust

The Sacramento Kings are on track to miss the playoffs for the third consecutive year and end up in the lottery. Not many people were optimistic about the Kings’ prospects before the season, and it remains true that they are at the bottom of the team standings.

The Kings lead 17-51 heading into their game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday.

Despite their forgettable campaign, Kings coach Doug Christie remains in good spirits. In particular, he is bullish on the team’s recent decision to sign Killian Hayes to a two-year contract. Hayes played 10 consecutive games on a 10-day contract with Sacramento before getting a full-time deal.

“He’s played really well. When he has the basketball, he controls the basketball, he runs the team, and he organizes and sets us up. Defensively, I think he’s been fantastic,” Christie said in a video posted by ESPN’s James Ham.

Christie said that Hayes can still “grow in different areas”, especially once he fully adjusts to their system and culture.

Christie said, “When I look at the totality of what he’s done, what we’ve asked of him and what we’ve taught him, the good shape he’s been in, it comes down to it, I like Killian, and I like everything about him. He’s a joy to coach. He tries to do all the right things when he’s on the field, impacting wins and helping his teammates.”

The Detroit Pistons selected the 24-year-old Hayes as the No. 7 overall pick in 2020. However, his career has not progressed yet. Last season, he played six games with the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists.

Hayes will continue his goal of proving that he belongs in the NBA. He was selected ahead of the likes of Denny Avdija of the Portland Trail Blazers, Devin Vassell of the San Antonio Spurs, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston’s Peyton Pritchard.

Kon Nueppel reacts to LaMelo Ball earning himself the ‘Buzz Brothers’ nickname

The Charlotte Hornets may have the NBA’s most prolific three-point shooting duo this season, but rookie guard Kon Nueppel didn’t seem entirely convinced about the nickname suggestion for himself and LaMelo Ball.

During the pregame broadcast before Charlotte’s matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on Prime Video on Saturday afternoon, broadcaster Taylor Rooks floated a possible nickname for the pair after Knueppel struggled to come up with a name herself.

Rooks noted how the Golden State Warriors duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson earned the nickname “Splash Brothers” during their peak while leading the league in three-pointers made.

Since Charlotte’s backcourt was also producing from beyond the arc, Rooks suggested the nickname “Buzz Brothers” for Knueppel and Ball.

Knueppel responded in a light-hearted manner.

“It’s fine. It’s fine,” he said, laughing.

‘Buzz Brothers’ idea came up when Kon Nueppel, LaMelo Ball led NBA in three-pointers

The moment highlighted the growing chemistry between Charlotte’s young backcourt as both players rank among the league’s most productive shooters from deep.

Entering Saturday’s contest, Knueppel leads the NBA with 233 three-pointers, while Ball is third in the league with 202. Their combined perimeter production has been a key factor in Charlotte’s offensive identity throughout the season.

At halftime of Saturday’s game, San Antonio held a 59-46 lead over Charlotte.

The NBA world reacts to Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo scored a career-high 83 points, the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, surpassing Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance in 2006. Only Wilt Chamberlain and his 100-point game exceed Adebayo.

In 42 minutes of play, Bam Adebayo finished with 83 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots. He shot 20 of 43 from the field, 7 of 22 from three and 36 of 43 from the free throw line in the historic game.

Adebayo set a new record with 43 free throws in a game, surpassing Dwight Howard’s record of 39.

Many players and coaches from around the NBA world reacted to Adebayo’s terrible scoring night, including some of the league’s best scorers.

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo offered his support to Adebayo after the Bucks’ home loss to the Phoenix Suns.

“Unbelievable,” Antetokounmpo said. “83 is incredible. It says a lot about his hard work. I haven’t seen the game yet, I have to see the game. He took 43 free throws? It doesn’t matter how you got there. What matters is that you got it. Like 10, 20, 30 years from now, no one will remember how many free throw shots he shot. I don’t think I remember how many shots Kobe shot or how many free throws he made or That’s 81. You don’t remember that, at the end of the day he’s got 83 points. I know he works hard every day.”

Bam Adebayo’s former Olympic teammate in Kevin Durant of the Houston Rockets was also surprised by the accomplishment.

“I couldn’t believe it when I heard it in real time,” Durant said after his team’s game. “It seems like he got 30 in the first quarter. Congratulations to Bam. I know how much he works. I looked at the stat-sheet, it’s crazy. He had 40 shots, 40 free throws, 20 threes. It takes a lot of stamina, a lot of energy to make those shots and then make them, set a record, surpassing Kobe as the second-highest scorer in the history of the game. Congratulations to him. It’s a huge accomplishment.” Which we will always talk about.

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama appeared to be more dismissive of the accomplishment in his postgame interview after the Spurs defeated the Boston Celtics.

“Yes, I see,” Vembanyama said before pausing. “I think we’re in a league where there’s a lot of inspiration to look at, but yes I looked…”

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka also seemed a little dismissive of the 83-point performance.

“The first thing you think about is how, not because of him, but because of the way he plays,” Udoka said. “I saw he only made six threes, but 40 free throws or something. That tells the story right there. And the Washington Wizards.”

Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre expressed another opinion, crediting his Sixers teammate Joel Embiid.

“Well, I’m going to say it’s definitely legendary,” Aubrey said. “Hats off to the box-score, the numbers, and Bam. He’s etched himself in history. I’m sad that he bested Kobe, he’s definitely one of my favorite players, but I’ll just say, Joel did it masterfully and he did it in three quarters.”

Following Anthony Edwards and the Los Angeles Lakers’ home win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Lakers head coach JJ Redick explained where he was watching the game from and how he found out about the news.

“It’s incredible what he was able to do,” Reddick said. “I went in and I looked at the score. He was at the free throw line and they’ve been playing great basketball lately. I told my coaching staff, ‘The Heat is on.’ He looked at me and said, ‘Are you kidding right now?’ I said, ‘No, what’s happening?’ They are 36-28, they will be 37-28. And they say, ‘No, Bam has 77.’ And I was like, ‘Huh?!’ I watched the last three minutes and it was a different kind of basketball.

There will surely be more players and coaches shouting out Bam Adebayo’s accomplishment on Wednesday night, but so far, there have been mixed reactions to the Heat star’s 83-point night.

Following his 83-point game, Bam Adebayo is now averaging 20 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from the free throw line.

Ben Stiller subtly reacts to Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game with Cam Payne shoutout

While some people are upset with Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game, New York Knicks superfan Ben Stiller celebrated it by giving a shout-out to Cam Payne.

During the game, Stiller reacted to Adebayo’s play by reposting Jalen Brunson’s reaction, simply writing, “Bro what.”

However, after the game, he thanked former Knicks and current Philadelphia 76ers guard Payne, who also had a great night on March 10. He scored 32 points with 10 assists and three rebounds. Payne made nine of his 10 shots and was perfect from downtown.

Stiller didn’t want his accomplishment to go unnoticed, so he responded to a post with his stats, writing, “In other news… go on cam,” along with an admiring hand emoji.

Aubrey then closed his eyes and “said a little prayer” for his fallen comrade. But he is confident that Maxi will make a comeback.

“He’s a resilient guy,” Oubre said.

When Maxi went down hard, he collided with the Hawks’ Adem Bona. The 76ers star held his arm in pain before heading back inside the locker room.

How many points did Tyrese Maxey score before leaving 76ers-Hawks?

Mark Daigneault reacts to David Edelman’s tirade on Lou Dort

Before facing the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault responded to Denver Nuggets head coach David Edelman’s recent comments on Lou Dort’s flagrant -2 against Nikola Jokic in Friday’s win. Edelman called out the Thunder’s Daigneault for his opinion on Dort’s ejection, which was mentioned to a reporter by Daigneault before Sunday’s matchup against the Mavericks.

Daigneault doubled down on my tech As of Friday night, reminding reporters that his stance on Dort’s flagrant -2 has not changed in the past 48 hours since the Thunder’s 127-121 overtime win against the Nuggets, according to Sports Illustrated’s Rylan Stiles.

“I’ll reiterate what I’ve said whenever we’ve played Denver for a long period of time, which is I have nothing but respect, we have nothing but respect for Denver,” Daigneault said. We are respected from top to bottom. We obviously have respect for Jokic, Gordon, Murray because those guys have worked together for so long and had a lot of success, but we also have respect for their staff.

I mentioned this during the playoffs last year. Like I said, I have nothing but the highest respect. I said it the other night – teams make each other better. That’s why this is a great matchup. That’s all I’ll say about it,” Daigneault concluded.

Clearly, Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault is not going to shadow Dort for his Major-2. At this point, he will stick to his response that the Nuggets and Thunder matchup is a physical match that brings emotions to a boil.

Nuggets head coach David Edelman didn’t hold back in his reaction to Thunder veteran Lou Dort after his stellar performance against All-Star Nikola Jokic on Friday. Daigneault never criticized Dort for his vicious foul on Jokic, which led to an interesting response from Edelman ahead of the Nuggets’ matchup against the Timberwolves on Sunday.

“Yeah, I think that’s him,” Edelman said. “He’s a more measured guy throughout the season — I think most guys are. If they’re measured they’re more productive. But there’s a point where we play these games, and he tackles anybody on the night [would] React that way. For Dort to take that shot – and then I guess it was no big deal from his perspective, how he saw it – is ridiculous.

“He was malicious. It was a cheap shot. Lou Dort is a great player, and I haven’t seen him do that before. But at some point, you’ve got to stand up for yourself, and so does the team. They’re a great team. That game itself was like that. But, yeah, Nicola, he’s who he is, man. You can’t have the success he’s had and you can’t be as competitive. There’s feelings inside that he’s in control, but that guy is very capable. And very willing to respond emotionally,” Edelman concluded.

The Thunder will face the Mavericks on Sunday.

Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t hold back his emotions about missing overtime during Friday’s showdown against fellow MVP candidate Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. After leading the Thunder to erase a 16-point deficit in the second half, Gilgeous-Alexander was forced to miss the rest of the game. He reached his scheduled minutes for his first game back after suffering an abdominal strain.

Still, that didn’t make the process any easier, as Gilgeous-Alexander cheered the Thunder against the Nuggets from the bench during the final period of the game.

“I hate it. I can’t wait for the minutes restriction to go away,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “But if I rehash this injury, it won’t make any difference. So, that’s the way I look at it.”

Jaylen Brown reacts to LeBron James making the MVP case for him

LeBron James expressed strong support for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown as an NBA MVP candidate after the Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 111-89 on Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.

Brown led the way with 32 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes. He came close to a triple-double while guiding a Boston team that had been without Jayson Tatum due to a torn Achilles since Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 12, 2025.

After the game, James questioned why Brown’s name is not mentioned more often in the MVP conversation. He pointed out that Brown is averaging around 30 points per game and suggested that the MVP discussion can sometimes turn into a popularity contest.

“With this whole MVP thing, I don’t understand why his name isn’t even being discussed,” James said of Brown after Sunday’s game. “Like, nobody gave him a chance to start the season. And what’s his average, 30? Just under 30? It’s a popularity contest sometimes, I’ll tell you.”

Brown later returned the praise while speaking to reporters after the game. He stressed that he was interested in both criticism and praise, although he presented his case for the award in his own way.

“I feel like I’m the best two-way player in the world,” Brown said. “I play on both ends of the court. I’m available night in and night out, which is hard to do. I’m a leader. I help lead my team, empower my team to come out and play with confidence, things that don’t always show up on analytics. And I’m a winner. I come out and try to win every night. So I’m grateful.”

He called it an honor to receive recognition from James, whom he described as arguably the best player of all time. Brown, who won Finals MVP in 2024 after averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, said he feels grateful every day.

“It’s an honor to play in the Celtics-Lakers rivalry. It’s an honor to have LeBron, who is arguably the best player to play the game, give me a lot of praise. So, I’m just grateful. I wake up every morning and am grateful (and) humbled.”

Even without Tatum and after trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis in the offseason, Boston is 37-19 and in second place in the East. What many thought would be a reset has turned into a serious race for the conference crown.

Brown is a big reason for that. He ranks fourth in the NBA with 29.2 points per game, while he has career averages of 7.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists. Brown is fourth in the league in scoring this season.

Meanwhile, the last two MVP winners, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, have largely controlled the MVP conversation.

There are plenty of games left, and the MVP race is almost certain. The door isn’t locked, but Brown still has ground to cover if he wants to kick it open.
