Report opens door to NY Knicks replacing Mitchell Robinson with St. John’s star in draft

A new report points to the New York Knicks potentially replacing veteran rim-protector Mitchell Robinson with St. John’s top star in 2025-26.

Robinson never had stats that jumped off the page. Even this season, he is averaging 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in just 19.6 minutes per night. However, for Knicks fans and rivals in the conference, they know the seven-foot player can make a big difference as an elite offensive rebounder, talented rim protector and lob threat.

That’s why New York gave the former second-round pick a huge raise four years ago in the form of a four-year, $60 million deal. However, with the valuable center in the final year of his contract, and the Knicks already hovering around the second salary tax apron, there’s a very real possibility they let Robinson walk in free agency.

That’s why they may consider trying to replace him with a more cost-effective option in June’s NBA Draft. Well, they could reportedly be one of those teams taking a close look at a player who could be a great replacement for Robinson next season.

Could the New York Knicks trade Mitchell Robinson for Zubie Ejiofor?

According to college basketball insider Adam Zagoria, more than 20 teams have “requested private workouts” with St. John’s star Jubie Ejiofor. It would make complete sense if the Knicks were one of the teams the senior won Big East Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete of the Year honors last season for a Red Storm team that reached the Sweet 16.

Although Ejiofor is shorter than Robinson (7-feet compared to 6-foot-9), he weighs similar to the Knicks center. He is also a talented rim protector (2.1 blocks per night) and offensive rebounder (3.0 ORPG in 2025-26, 4.4 in 2024-25). However, he may be upgraded overall as he is a far more efficient scorer than Robinson.

Last season, Ejiofor posted 17.3 points per game and shot 72% from the line. Robinson is a liability at the line after averaging 51% from the stripe for his career. The St. John’s big man could be an option for New York, with a higher possibility at 24, or 31, to open Round 2 of the draft.

Top draft expert predicts Chiefs have controversial possibility of replacing Chris Jones with first pick

A new mock draft from one of the top experts for the event believes the Kansas City Chiefs will use the first of their two picks in Round 1 of next month’s event on a controversial prospect in this year’s class.

As we pass the midpoint of March, we get even closer to the biggest event of April, the 2026 NFL Draft. After a rare losing season in 2025, the Chiefs’ selection next month becomes even more important. And after making a big trade this offseason that sent Trent McDuffie back to the Los Angeles Rams, including another first-round pick this year, Kansas City has a chance to get two top-30 prospects.

But who will the Chiefs select with their valuable pick at No. 9? There has been a lot of speculation about who they would take, and they would be wise to go after the best cornerback available to replace the All-Pro they just traded. He has also been linked to Heisman Trophy finalist Jeremiah Love. The player teams around the NFL are praying they don’t fall for.

Could the Chiefs select Reuben Benn Jr. at No. 9?

Well, according to ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper, he expects general manager Brett Veach to go in a different direction. In his latest mock draft, Draft Guru projects the Chiefs to select Miami star Reuben Benn Jr.

The Hurricanes defensive end became a controversial figure during the NFL Combine last month when it was revealed that his average arm length was 30 7/8 inches. There hasn’t been a player with fewer weapons in Round 1 of the draft since the Philadelphia Eagles used the 15th overall pick on fellow Miami alumnus Jerome McDougald in 2003. The length of his arm was 31 3/8 inches.

McDougald was a notable draft bust of that year’s class and played only four seasons in the NFL. Nevertheless, Kipper believes that Chiefs cannot afford to miss the chance to select Bane if he is still on board and they are at No.9.

He wrote, “It will be very difficult to overtake Ben at this position. Despite 30⅞-inch arms, which caused quite a stir at the combine, Ben dominates the sideline.” “He easily finds ways to get to the QB, whether it’s his speed, power or intelligence. Last season he had 71 pressures with 9.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss.”

Star pass rusher Chris Jones has shown clear signs of age-related decline over the past few seasons. While he and Benn play different positions, the Chiefs need to start planning for life after Jones and develop a new top pass rusher. Ben can be that player.

Jaydy Canavut on replacing Marc Guhy and choosing Crystal Palace over Germany

Crystal Palace defender JD Canavut has revealed why joining the Eagles despite widespread doubt is worth it, as the 19-year-old has established himself in the Premier League following the departure of Marc Guhi.

Talking to Foot MercatoCanavot explained how the guarantee of playing time and Oliver Glasner’s project convinced him to make the move.

Canavot has been speaking about life at Crystal Palace as he begins to establish himself as Marc Guhi’s replacement at Selhurst Park.

He joined the Eagles from Toulouse, France in September. For approximately €23m. At the time he was seen as a replacement for Marc Guhy, who was heavily linked with an exit the previous summer.

That exit did not occur until the January transfer window, when the England international joined Manchester City. His departure opened the door for Canavot, who has now played every minute of Palace’s last three Premier League games. This included a standout performance in the 3–1 win over Tottenham.

Why did Crystal Palace appeal to Canvote?

The move to Crystal Palace was not the path many expected for the defender. In fact, when this happened, some people questioned this step. However, the 19-year-old did not listen to him.

“The project presented to me was very simple: you would play from the first season, He said.

“I was told I would get playing time, and we are talking about a club that has produced players like Olise, Eze and other young talents in recent years.

“Naturally, it appealed to me. I also talked to coach Glasner: a top coach. He had done some great things with his previous clubs, especially in Frankfurt where he won the Europa League. For me, everything looked good.

“I spent a year at Toulouse and then went straight to the Premier League. For some people, it may seem an illogical choice, because they would have gone to Germany, a league that is good for French players and youngsters. But the Premier League is what I wanted.”

Learning from Guhi and studying Saliba

Guhi’s departure in January created an immediate opportunity for Canavot, but also significant pressure. The former Palace captain led the club to its first major trophy. He also established himself at the club as one of the league’s most reliable centre-backs.

Guéhi was very willing to offer his advice to the man who is seen as his replacement, something Canavot appreciates.

“Mark is a top player. He’s incredibly good,” He added.

“He talked to me a lot, he gave me advice because we are both central defenders. He is the defender I look up to the most along with William Saliba. They are the ones who have the same style as me.”

Canavot has started each of Palace’s last three league games since Guhi’s exit. The defender has completed the full 90 minutes on every occasion.

He is not being asked to replace his predecessor overnight, but the responsibility he is already taking on suggests Crystal Palace’s long-term plan is quietly taking shape.

Despite his young age, there is a lot of promise already displayed and Eagles fans have another player to look forward to.
