Marco Silva moves back to Fulham after preparing reply – Benfica talks reveal priorities

Marco Silva’s fulham The exit appears closer than ever now that several key hurdles have now been removed, Portuguese newspapers report.

The recent report has focused on Benfica is getting closer to Marco Silva’s demandsTuesday’s coverage paints a clear picture. It makes clear what those demands actually were.

Silva wants influence on more than transfers

portuguese newspaper News bulletin Claim the biggest sticking point in negotiations has been Silva’s autonomy over his coaching staff. His influence on the squad building and the structure of his contracts is also significant.

For several weeks, most coverage focused on the large financial gap between Fulham’s renewal offer and Benfica’s offer. However, Jornal de Noticias now suggest that talks have focused on how much control Silva will have upon returning to Portugal.

Benfica and Silva have spent recent weeks discussing guarantees over the composition of their coaching staff. He has also discussed his role in building the team. Furthermore, he has also talked about the duration of his contract.

The newspaper reports that discussions are still ongoing on whether the deal will last for two years with an option for a third season or whether it will be structured as a three-year fixed contract.

Either way, the proposed timeframe roughly matches Rui Costa’s current presidential mandate.

Jornal de Noticias stated that Fulham continue to pursue a renewal of Silva and have not given up hope of keeping him despite Benfica’s progress.

Separate reports proceed

While the Jornal de Noticias describes the conversation around influence and autonomy, morning mail The claim is that Silva has effectively been promised full control over next season’s plans. They will also get complete control over recruitment related decisions.

Both newspapers broadly agree on the direction of travel but differ slightly on how much power Silva will ultimately receive.

Correio da Manhã also provides one of the most impressive claims of the day. He says that Silva has been working on Benfica squad matters for several days. This includes discussions regarding possible arrivals and departures.

If accurate, it would suggest that preparations are already underway, despite the fact that no appointment can be formalized until the Jose Mourinho situation is resolved.

The same report said that Silva wanted to make the announcement as soon as possible and start work immediately. However, Rui Costa is said to have asked for a few extra days. The reason for this is the uncertainty over a possible move for Mourinho to Real Madrid. According to Correiro da Manha, Silva accepted that request.

This presents an interesting contrast to some of the reporting of recent days, which has largely featured Silva as a pressure party. Here, the Benfica president is presented as a man who demands patience.

Fulham ready to get answers

Correiro da Manha also claims Silva is expected to return to England to inform Fulham in person of his decision.

This does not mean that the saga ends immediately. But this suggests that the process is entering its final stages.

So perhaps the most notable aspect of Tuesday’s reporting is that the conversation now appears to be about what his role will be when he arrives. Doesn’t feel like ‘if’ anymore.

Autonomy, staffing decisions, hiring influence, and long-term planning have become central themes. Fulham could be a turned page.

Insiders reveal potential cost of NASCAR charter in Cup Series

RFK Racing is facing the possibility of needing to run one of its three The Chase contenders in an unnamed car next season. If the team wants to change this, it may have to pay a heavy price.

The Athletic’s motorsports reporter Jordan Bianchi wrote this week that the low-end estimate for securing a permanent charter in the Cup Series is “close to $100 million,” and it could be even higher.

RELATED: Elite RFK Racing drivers could lose chartered status in 2027

RFK currently has a charter lease from Rick Ware Racing for the 2026 season. However, that charter was sold to Legacy Motor Club to complete the team’s expansion to three full-time drivers in 2027.

A charter in excess of $100 million is the kind of price tag that teams like Spire Motorsports, 23XI Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Team Penske can possibly afford. The same was not necessarily the case with RFK’s financial situation.

This puts RFK in the same situation that team owners in the National Football League are increasingly facing. Although this is more extreme – NFL franchise value now exceeds $7 billion – NASCAR teams will need to target partnerships with private equity groups to afford the rising costs.

RELATED: Young driver named favorite for new charter at Legacy

At that point, Puck’s John Orand reported in January that private equity groups and media corporations had “informal conversations” about a possible process of taking a minority ownership stake in NASCAR. Similarly, the teams also have similar interests, with Spire’s pockets an example of how financial support from private equity can help fund operations.

Therefore, if RFK wants to obtain a charter to ensure that Ryan Preece, Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher are all eligible for the races and can receive full slotted purses for their finale, they will need to find the funds to obtain another charter.

What NASCAR charters may be available?

NASCAR still has four charters it can sell, but none of them are likely to be made available to RFK. Under the new agreement signed this year, NASCAR can create and sell four new charters to a new OEM entering the Cup Series, which is expected to be Ram.

This leaves the only options for RFK to lease or purchase the charter outright from another team. Spire, 23XI, Penske, Joe Gibbs Racing, Richard Childress Racing and Trackhouse Racing have no intentions of downsizing.

Meanwhile, Hyak Motorsports has extended Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s commitment to another season with a full-time driver in the Cup Series. Similarly, Wood Brothers Racing is expected to retain Josh Berry.

He leaves Rick Ware Racing and the Haas factory team. The most likely option would be for RWR to sell its only remaining charter, but even that may require some convincing as it would take Cody Ware out of the Cup Series.

Insiders reveal whether the New York Mets are planning to sell at the trade deadline

The New York Mets have been one of the worst teams in baseball this season, resulting in rumors of an MLB trade involving starting pitcher Freddy Peralta. With the trade deadline just a few months away, there is some early buzz about New York’s approach.

According to MLB insider Robert Murray, the Mets are “no closer to being sold” and there is complete confidence throughout the organization that the season can turn around. Although New York has a number of players who would generate significant interest from around the league, a sale is not even considered an option by the front office right now.

RELATED: MLB Power Rankings Week 7, New York Mets Climb

Entering MLB games today, the Mets are at the bottom of the NL East with an 18-26 record. This puts New York 12.5 games behind the first-place Atlanta Braves and 8 games behind the San Diego Padres for the final wild card spot in the National League.

However, there are some signs of hope on the horizon. New York is 8-5 in May, which is tied with the Cleveland Guardians, New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals for sixth-most wins in Major League Baseball. This all comes during a period where the Mets pitching staff has a 2.85 ERA (fifth in MLB).

However, injuries remain an issue. New York’s starting rotation suffered a loss to Clay Holmes with a fractured fibula, and it could keep him out for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, there is still no timeline for All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor’s return from a calf injury, and running back Jorge Polanco has no timeline for a return as he battles Achilles bursitis.

The next few series on the Mets schedule could potentially change the front office’s approach. Following the Subway Series this weekend, New York will face the Washington Nationals, Miami Marlins and Cincinnati Reds to conclude May. Looking at opponents, there’s a chance New York could be within three games of .500 entering June.

On the other hand, if New York records a loss during that period, selling may be the best option. Moving homes is now off the table, but the expiring contracts of Peralta, David Peterson, Craig Kimbrel and Brooks Raley could potentially be reversed.

NHL agents reveal potential cost of Maclin Celebrini contract extension for SJ Sharks

San Jose Sharks phenom Maclin Celebrini capped off a season at age 19 where he broke the franchise’s single-season points record and reached milestones that were only achieved by the all-time greats. With this he can break some new records with his next contract.

In a poll of NHL agents conducted by The Athletic, Celebrini received the second-most votes to select who will be the highest-paid player in hockey by the start of the 2028–29 season.

RELATED: Why Macklin Deserves the Celebrini Hart Trophy

“Why shouldn’t Celebrini make $20 million a year? I mean, that’s a lot, but look at that kid. I guess my thing with Celebrini is I know it’s not apples to apples because Kaprizov could have become a UFA, but if you’re that, why wouldn’t I say, Kaprizov is getting it, why shouldn’t I make more than Kaprizov?”

NHL agent on Macklin Celebrini potentially getting $20M/year contract

Another survey asked agents about the future contracts of both Celebrini and fellow No. 1 overall pick Connor Bedard. While the Chicago Blackhawks star received considerable praise, the general consensus was that Celebrini is on a “very different level” than Bedard.

An agent suggested that Celebrini’s eventual extension with San Jose would be in the range of $10 to $17 million per season. If the 19-year-old were to sign a short-term deal, it would most likely be somewhere between $10-12 million. If he wants long-term security and a long-term commitment to the club, that figure could reach more than $17 million.

RELATED: Love the San Jose Sharks? Watch San Jose Hockey Now

“He’s going to get a big deal, and they’re going to have to pay him. What Celebrini is doing in San Jose is incredible. It’s happening at a slower pace with other contracts being so big. This is going to take him to another level, which will reshape the way teams squeeze in their high-level guys.”

Undisclosed NHL agent on potential Macklin Celebrini contract extension (via The Athletic)

Celebrini is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Sharks on July 1. During his record-breaking season, in which he set multiple single-season franchise marks and joined the record books of legends like Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby, the team was relatively quiet on a potential long-term deal.

However, Sharks general manager Mike Grier joked with reporters when asked about the matter earlier this season, saying “We probably wouldn’t try to sign him.”

For now, according to PuckPedia.com, Celebrini is under contract for next season with an $877,500 base salary with a $975,000 cap hit and performance bonuses of up to $3.5 million. While he is eligible for restricted free agency as a 21-year-old after the 2026-27 season, he will likely have a new deal with San Jose before 2027.

Paratici compares Tottenham to the NBA – Spurs reveal recruitment plan to demonstrate level

tottenham

Fabio Paratici’s tottenham The sudden exit came earlier this year and caught many by surprise. The Italian has now spoken about his time in the Premier League while also addressing other matters related to his career.

sports witness Largely covered Paratischi’s move to Fiorentina, who were struggling inside the bottom three at the time.

They are now back in form and are 15th in the table. What’s more, they are unbeaten in their last four Serie A games, which shows clear improvement under Paolo Vanoli.

The 53-year-old has now spoken out Corriere Della Sera About his career, his time at Tottenham and why he left London.

Full of praise for Paratischi Spurs

The interview begins with Paratici being asked if Fiorentina’s gleaming training ground is the reason for his arrival.

He agreed, saying: “Yes. I signed a long contract because I want to see ten boys who grew up here reach the first team, and others to become professionals.”

Paratici also revealed that Fiorentina’s league position did not change his perception of the project.

“When Ferrari and Goretti came to London, it was mid-December and Fiorentina had six points. I immediately said that the standings did not concern me.

“Not in the sense that it wasn’t bad, but because of the depth of work that we were talking about, and which the Commisso family wants to support with love and dedication to Rocco’s legacy. A lost year would have been compensable. And in any case, we would not have lost it.”

This led to him being asked about his experience at Tottenham. He appreciated that everything at the club is extensively researched before decisions are made.

Paratischi replied: “Everything else. The Premier League is as good as the NBA. I’ll just tell you that the head of human resources evaluated 50 resumes for my assistant.

“Everything is perfect there, and of a better standard. They run more, but above all they run the ball faster. For this they have to learn to pass better, and the training pitches are always grassy and wet. The technique comes naturally that way.”

Desire to copy Tottenham approach

Furthermore, the Italian stated that he wants to replicate the Spurs approach in Italy. In the process, he also highlighted how different things are in Serie A.

“Definitely. First and foremost, extensive training for the 110 staff at the training centre. This is necessary because I study every day of my life, whereas in Italy everything is empirical. I’m talking about numbers, not about algorithms, that would screw things up. The numbers give me the names of the three best players for the position I’m looking for, then the choice is mine and it also depends on gut feeling. Intuition is important.”

“Whereas here, everything is considered an opinion, and as such, it’s legitimate. Instead, I say missing three World Cups is not an opinion, it’s a fact. Terrible.”

Paratischi addressed the ban

Fabio Paratici

Crucially, the former Juventus sporting director also spoke about his ban, which extended to his time at Tottenham. He was suspended from operations due to financial irregularities discovered during his tenure in Turin.

“If that’s what you’re asking, I don’t feel guilty of anything. It was a very difficult experience because the criminal investigation lasted five and a half years, and it took strength to maintain it. I was convicted of a techno-financial strategy that involved several internationals, including Rovella, Orsolini and Spinazzola,” he said.

He also expressed doubts about how the entire process works.

“An unprecedented accounting principle was applied, which I am waiting to review. It is mentioned in the documents, not inflated capital gains, as is rumored. In a sports trial, you cannot defend yourself; you can do very little. I wanted to get the criminal case off the ground so I could start living again.”

Paratici impressed by Tottenham magic

The spell at Tottenham deeply impressed Paratici. Things operate very differently in Italy, where the game is still based on mutual contacts. Bureaucracy. It is massively political and less sporting, and it holds the Italian game back.

From the interview, it’s clear that Paratici wants to change Italian football by taking inspiration from how things work in England.

Furthermore, he should also be grateful to Tottenham for how they stuck with him during the ban. He was allowed back into the London team soon after his suspension ended and was given the chance to rebuild his reputation.

Insiders reveal when it might drop

The 2026 NFL schedule is expected to be one of the best in recent memory. The NFL begins the regular season on Wednesday, September 9, when the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks begin action. It will not be on a Thursday night to host the sport’s first regular season game in Australia. However, when will the game release the rest of the schedule?

This year’s NFL schedule release date could be between Tuesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 14, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In 2025, the NFL released the schedule on Wednesday, May 14 at 8 pm ET. The 2025 schedule was released on Wednesday, May 15.

If the pattern of the past two years continues in 2026, the schedule will be released on Wednesday, May 13. However, Schefter said to “circle” the week of May 11, specifically Tuesday through Thursday. Either way, it’s expected to be a major day within the NFL offseason.

NFL teams have made schedule releases a big event each offseason, even when their opponents are known in advance. It shows which week teams are playing their opponents, kickoff times, and when they have primetime games. Additionally, the NFL reveals the Thanksgiving and Christmas games, which are high-profile days in the game.

The Seahawks and New England Patriots are projected to have multiple primetime slots after making the Super Bowl in February. In fact, there is a possibility that Seattle and New England will play each other on Wednesday, September 9 to kick off the 2026-27 NFL season.

The game will reveal the 2026 schedule in about a month, and the official release date may be announced at the NFL Draft. For now, circle from Tuesday, May 12 to Thursday, May 14.

Bulls reporters reveal shocking new truth about Jayden Ivey

The Chicago Bulls have seen a lot of drama this season, but nothing like the Jayden Ivy situation. What started as a locker room whisper has turned into one of the strangest stories in the NBA this year.

Reporters, social media and a mid-flight Instagram Live all played a role in exposing a side of Ivey that no one expected to see.

According to Bulls insider Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Jaden Ivey’s postgame interviews were nothing out of the ordinary. Instead of the usual basketball discussion, Ivey would turn press sessions into full-on sermons.

He would ask reporters personal questions about his faith, including whether he was “saved” and whether he had “committed adultery before marriage.”

Sources close to the situation said that before Ivey arrived in Chicago, people around the Detroit Pistons were already calling him “the preacher”, but even that label did not fully explain what was going on.

What’s really going on around Jaden Ivey?

The situation quickly deteriorated after Ivey turned to social media. After the Bulls held a Pride Night event, Ivey went on Instagram Live and openly challenged the NBA’s LGBTQ advocacy. According to The Athletic, Ivey said on the livestream:

“The world can declare LGBTQ, right? They declare Pride Month. And the NBA, they declare it. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month, to celebrate inequity.’ They promote it on billboards. They promote it on the streets. Unrighteousness.”

The Bulls took action the same day and waived Ivy on March 30 for “conduct detrimental to the team”.

The live stream that said it all

Instead of staying quiet, Ivey got on Instagram Live and kept going until a flight attendant came over and shut it down. On stream, Ivey slammed the Bulls’ decision, saying:

“[The Bulls] Said that my conduct is harmful for the team. Why didn’t they say, ‘We don’t agree with his stance on LGBTQ’? Why didn’t he say so? How is this behavior harmful to the team? What did I do with the team? What did I do with the players?”

He also opened up about his personal past, sharing on Instagram:

“The NBA was everything to me. I didn’t know God. When I came to the NBA I was a womanizer, I was an alcoholic and a drunk. That’s all I knew. After all those points I felt good… I felt like everything was laid out for me.”

Mid-flight the live stream ended abruptly when a flight attendant interrupted him mid-sentence and caught him saying:

“All I’m preaching is about Jesus Christ… I’m telling you they’ll cancel me… He sees the things you’re doing at night… Obscenity… Adultery… Lies…” – at which point the flight attendant interjected: “I’m sorry to bother you… Are you on your mobile?”

Pittsburgh Steelers reveal expected timeline for Aaron Rodgers decision

What’s up with Aaron Rodgers? Does anyone ever really know?

This time, we just want to know if the 42-year-old is planning to return for a 22nd NFL season. If so, will it happen again with the Pittsburgh Steelers? This is the current expectation, but why is it taking so long?

Well, the Steelers don’t even know where the future Hall of Fame quarterback’s head is at. Still, they’ll likely want answers from the four-time NFL MVP soon.

According to team owner Art Rooney II, the Steelers are expected to hear back from Rodgers before the 2026 NFL Draft begins on April 23 as to whether he is returning, retiring or signing elsewhere.

“I’m still hoping for it,” Rooney told Gerry Dulac. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I hope we get an answer before the draft. That’s when I talked to him and Omar.” [Khan] Talked to him, he told us he won’t take as much time off this year as he did last year [to make a decision]. I’m not 100 percent sure what that means, but I expect something before the draft.

The sooner the better for the Steelers. If Rodgers leaves them alone, they will need to make other plans at the QB position. A QB room composed of Mason Rudolph and Will Howard will not get Mike McCarthy’s Steelers into the playoffs.

Of course, the Steelers could always use the 23rd overall pick on a QB like Ty Simpson, but with only one season of starting experience, he also may not be ready to start right away. The Steelers have a total of 12 selections, and they will likely use at least one selection on a QB. Nevertheless, they still need answers from Rodgers sooner rather than later.

Paul George refused to reveal the specifics of the suspension

The Philadelphia 76ers are set to welcome Paul George back from his 25-game suspension to the lineup this week as they continue to battle for a playoff position in the Eastern Conference standings.

Paul George spoke to the media for the first time since his suspension, and according to Kyle Neubach of PHLY Sports, the 76ers star did not provide specifics about the reason for the suspension. But he revealed that he had been struggling with a knee problem which made the suspension almost a blessing in disguise.

George is set to return to the 76ers lineup when they host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. They are currently 39-33 and looking to get back in the win column after losing their last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 76ers are currently in the play-in position, but they are just one game behind the Atlanta Hawks for the No. 6 seed and a direct berth in the playoffs.

Before the suspension, George had appeared in 27 games for the 76ers, playing just over 30 minutes per game. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals with splits of 42.4 percent shooting from the field, 38.2 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 85.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

This is George’s second full season with the 76ers after signing as a free agent during the 2024 offseason. He appeared in only 41 games in his Philadelphia debut last year after his season was cut short due to knee and adductor injuries. Getting him back in the lineup would be a big help as the 76ers are dealing with multiple injuries.

Arsenal’s signings reveal Arteta and Heinze’s influence – vital to their success

Arsenal are seeing the best of Piero Hincapie at the right time, and the defender himself is acutely aware of this as the 2026 World Cup approaches.

The Ecuador international has become a key option for Mikel Arteta since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in September 2025.

Hincapie is no longer being talked about as a player who has adapted to English football. He is now part of an Arsenal team that is still fighting on many fronts, and his versatility has helped. He has been used as both a centre-back and on the left, providing Arteta with tactical flexibility.

In recent weeks, he has produced strong performances, including a standout performance against his former club Bayer Leverkusen. He also scored his first Premier League goal in a 2–2 draw against Wolves last month.

So when he talks about confidence, adaptation and responsibility, it fits into the wider picture at Arsenal.

Emotional return and Arteta’s demand

in an interview with dsportsHincapie considered moving to Bayer Leverkusen after leaving the German side for Arsenal. The defender admitted it was an emotional experience.

“Going back to where I was happy is very emotional, and also sad because I had to face the club where I won everything. They opened the doors for me, so there were a lot of mixed emotions.”

Arsenal signed a player with elite levels of experience despite his age, and Leverkusen clearly remains a major part of his story. Nevertheless, their focus is now on retaining their place in North London and ahead of the World Cup.

He also offered a revealing line on life under Arteta.

“With Mikel, he has a very strong character. He likes intense training sessions. You have to be at the maximum level because of the demands of the league. I have adapted very well to what he asks of me in every moment of the game. I’m very happy to have him.”

This seems absolutely true. The physical and tactical demands under Arteta are well known, and Hincapie’s comments suggest he has adapted to them rather than survived them.

Heinz’s influence and larger role

Another notable part of the interview was Hincapie’s praise for Gabriel Heinze, who joined Arsenal’s coaching staff in 2025.

“Heinz helps us a lot on the defensive side as well. He gives advice to everyone. He’s a great reference point for us too, having him in training.”

It should attract attention. Heinze arrived with a reputation for intensity and defensive aggressiveness, and Hincapie is one of the players to benefit from that influence.

He is already comfortable defending wide spaces, stepping into duels and covering on the left. The additional work on the defensive side could make him even more important to Arsenal next season.

However, for now, timing is the point. Arsenal have a defender in form, the player looks settled, and Ecuador will be pleased to hear that.

Hincapie is speaking like someone who knows this extension of the season could define both his club year and his World Cup summer.

Wizards reveal Trae Young’s second injury as season ends

The Washington Wizards have the NBA’s second-worst record at 16-53 entering Saturday’s home date with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they are on pace to make the top six in this summer’s draft. They have no incentive to bring players back from injury before their last game on April 12, especially four-time All-Star guard Trae Young.

The Wizards announced an update on the injury to the 27-year-old, who missed Monday’s 125-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors due to quad contusion.

“Young re-injured his right quadriceps during the third quarter of the game against Golden State on March 16. Related imaging due to back pain confirmed lower back irritation,” the organization said. “Both injuries are being treated conservatively and will not require surgery at this time. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.”

Washington officially acquired Young from the Atlanta Hawks on January 9, but he did not play until the team’s 122–112 home loss to the Utah Jazz on March 5 due to quad and knee injuries. The former All-NBA honoree has played just five games since the trade after leading the league with 11.6 assists per game in 76 contests last year and 15 games overall this season.

The Wizards placed a minutes restriction on Young, as he averaged only 20.8 minutes in those five games. The 6-foot-2, 164-pounder is averaging 34.1 minutes in his career.

However, Young still put on a show, Producing highlights such as fake behind-the-back passes, deep threes, and his patented “ice tray” celebration.

The Oklahoma native averaged 15.2 points on 59.5% shooting (42.9% 3-point) with 6.3 assists, three rebounds and 2.6 turnovers in those 20.8 minutes. He scored 21 points (7-10 FG, 3-5 3-point) with five assists, two rebounds, one block and one steal in 21 minutes against the Warriors on Monday.

Young has a $49 million player option this summer. Assuming the former Oklahoma Sooner opts to extend and/or sign with Washington, he will likely be its point guard next season with star big man Anthony Davis and a young core including big man Alex Saar, sharpshooting guard Trey Johnson, wing Keyshawn George, wing Will Riley, guard Bilal Coulibaly and guard Bub Carrington. Additionally, whoever the team drafts this summer could be a superstar prospect like BYU’s AJ DiBuntsa, Kansas’ Darrin Peterson, or Duke’s Cameron Boozer, depending on which selection they get in May’s NBA Draft Lottery.

Trae Young showed how he can change the Wizards

Washington Wizards guard Trae Young (3) celebrates with Wizards guard Trey Johnson (12) after getting behind the bases in the second half against the Utah Jazz at Capital One Arena.

If Young doesn’t return this season, the silver lining is that he showed why Washington chose him. The seriousness of the 2018 NCAA champion and assists leader on offense generated more open looks for its young core, making it easier for players like Johnson, Riley and Coulibaly to score. For example, Coulibaly is averaging 16.8 points on 45% shooting (41% 3-point) with Young, and he is averaging 11 points on 41.5% shooting (31% 3-point) in 47 games this season.

Al Horford and Seth Curry’s MRIs reveal injury timeline

NEW YORK – Golden State Warriors veterans Al Horford and Seth Curry underwent MRIs after exiting the Dubs’ 127-117 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at halftime. Testing revealed a left mild shin strain for Horford and a left abductor strain for Curry. Both players will be reevaluated in a week, ruling them out of at least the Warriors’ next five games.

It has been a tough season for both veterans in terms of availability.

Horford missed seven consecutive games earlier this season due to a sciatic nerve problem. And due to his load management policy of not playing both ends of back-to-backs, he has missed 23 games so far, a number that is set to increase as he deals with this calf strain. Kerr said that because it is a calf injury, they will be cautious about his recovery, indicating a longer recovery period than a one-week re-evaluation.

As for Curry, he has barely been able to get going this season, as he has missed 40 consecutive games due to his sciatic nerve problem. He had just returned from an extended recovery procedure when he strained his abductor, a bad stroke of luck for a player who has only played four games this season.

Encourage injury updates

But the Warriors received some encouraging health updates as they prepare to face the New York Knicks without eight of their players.

Draymond Green is expected to play against the Washington Wizards after missing two games due to lower back pain. Along with Green, Kristaps Porzingis and D’Anthony are also set to play in DC as the Warriors sideline them to manage their respective health issues.

Meanwhile, Kerr said he is hopeful that Moses Moody will return after recovering from the sprain he suffered in his right wrist during this road trip. And in some positive news, Stephen Curry traveled with the Warriors on this six-game road trip, joining the team on the road for the first time since being sidelined due to a knee issue with their runner.

Otherwise, the Warriors will have to weather this latest injury storm as teams pass them by for play-in tournament positioning. At 32–34, they have lost to the Los Angeles Clippers for the eighth seed and are in danger of being passed by the Portland Trail Blazers for the ninth seed.

This latest six-game road trip will determine their chances of securing a playoff spot.

Dallas Cowboys reveal final offer for Max Crosby trade

After years of trade rumors, Max Crosby was finally dealt to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for two first-round picks. Reports leading up to the Ravens’ blockbuster trade for the five-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher revealed that the Raiders were waiting for an offer that included two first-round picks targeting a ‘Micah Parsons’ deal. Many people were skeptical.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys were confident they would win the Crosby trade sweepstakes. He even thought his deal for Crosby was almost done. However, when other teams stepped up with offers of two first-round selections, the Cowboys’ confidence diminished.

So, what did the Cowboys offer the Raiders in exchange for Crosby?

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys offered their first-round pick (No. 12 overall – two slots ahead of Baltimore’s offer), a future second-round pick (possibly in 2027), as well as an undisclosed veteran player for Crosby. The Cowboys were unwilling to part with two first-round picks.

“Dallas maintained a tough stance throughout. The franchise was unwilling to part with two first-round picks, hoping that its 12th pick in April’s draft, plus a future second-rounder, would be enough to tempt Las Vegas. Dallas was also willing to package a veteran player to sweeten the deal, but Vegas was not interested. The Raiders preferred the selection.”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on the Cowboys/Max Crosby trade

Apparently, the Raiders declined, believing they received a better offer from Baltimore. Unless the veteran player was an impact starter, we’d argue that Las Vegas actually accepted a better offer from the Ravens.

The Cowboys, despite reportedly “keeping an eye on Crosby for a long time” and “loving” him, determined that he was not worth trading for two first-round picks. The Ravens felt otherwise.

Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady reveal the mindset behind Bills Night collaboration

The budding partnership between the Toronto Raptors and Buffalo Bills continues. During the 2025 season, the Raptors expressed their support for the Bills on social media. Now, both teams are taking the next step as Toronto hosts Bills Night 2 this Tuesday.

The architects behind this collaboration are two former Raptors players: Hall of Famer Vince Carter and his cousin Tracy McGrady. During the event, Carter and McGrady talked about the rationale behind the collaboration.

According to Josh Levenberg, he said, “Why not bring the two sports together to support each other rather than against each other?”

Carter says the Bills and Raptors fan bases are very similar in their passion for supporting their home teams. Both Toronto and Buffalo have some of the most passionate fan bases, even earning their own nicknames (Jurassic Park for Toronto, Bills Mafia for Buffalo).

“Seeing what Jurassic Park is like, especially when they’re on the road during the playoffs and things like that. Seeing what the Bills Mafia is, if you’ve never had that opportunity, I recommend it, if you’re not a part of it, just to see it. It’s just something special and (we want) both sides to collaborate and do it together.”

How are Carter and McGrady tied to the Bills? In 2024, the two Raptors alumni, along with Toronto FC forward Joey Altidore, were part of a private equity group that purchased a minority stake of the team. Both Carter and McGrady are now part-owners of the Bills, prompting this collaboration.

The relationship between Toronto and the Bills goes back even further. From 2008 to 2013, the Bills played home games in Toronto as part of a series. Discussions have resurfaced about the Bills playing home games in Toronto following the MLSE partnership between the Bills and Raptors, but Buffalo is focused on opening their new stadium first.

The Raptors lost to the New York Knicks 111-95 on Tuesday night. Brandon Ingram led the Raptors with 31 points, while Immanuel Quickley had a double-double of 13 points and 12 assists against his former team.

‘Growing interest’ – Brighton and Watford reveal ‘concrete offers’ for similar signing

Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford attempted to sign OGC Nice’s Hicham Boudaoui in the winter market.

at least that’s it Africa Foot Are reporting. The Algeria international then moved to Europe when Ligue 1 side Pardou AC signed him in 2019.

He took time to settle in France and started playing regularly for Nice from the 2020/21 season. To give context, the midfielder has played 194 matches so far and scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists.

His performances for the French club have helped him cement a place in the national team and even represent them at the AFCON.

Brighton and Watford’s interest

Last month, Sports Witness Covered claims from France Fabian Herzeler’s side want to sign the 26-year-old.

His impressive performances at the AFCON had caught the Seagulls’ attention, but there was no mention of the Championship side.

Africa Foot recently covered Galatasaray’s failure to sign the Nice star in the last window.

A recent report from the same outlet suggests that the Turkish club were not alone as Brighton and Hornets also failed.

Seagulls and Hornets submitted proposals

Africa Foot say the Algerian received ‘concrete offers’ from Galatasaray, Brighton and Watford at the end of the winter market.

It is unclear whether Brighton and Watford have submitted offers to Nice, the player or both, and even their details have not been mentioned. However, the report insists that their offers indicate ‘increased interest’ in the player.

The Istanbul club was the most insistent and their offer was to sign him on loan until the end of the season. Galatasaray were willing to pay his full salary and included a purchase option worth €15m.

Africa Foot made no mention of why Brighton, Watford or Galatasaray were unable to lure Boudaoui away from Nice.

Boudaoui’s contract is until 2027, and the French club has yet to decide on his future. In case of a sale, the outlet says he ‘represents an important asset for Nice, who will look to maximize any potential transfer fee.’

This would give Brighton and Watford a new opportunity to sign him in the summer.
