This puts RFK in the same situation that team owners in the National Football League are increasingly facing. Although this is more extreme – NFL franchise value now exceeds $7 billion – NASCAR teams will need to target partnerships with private equity groups to afford the rising costs.

At that point, Puck’s John Orand reported in January that private equity groups and media corporations had “informal conversations” about a possible process of taking a minority ownership stake in NASCAR. In a poll of NHL agents conducted by The Athletic, Celebrini received the second-most votes to select who will be the highest-paid player in hockey by the start of the 2028–29 season.

The Chicago Bulls have seen a lot of drama this season, but nothing like the Jayden Ivy situation. What started as a locker room whisper has turned into one of the strangest stories in the NBA this year.

Reporters, social media and a mid-flight Instagram Live all played a role in exposing a side of Ivey that no one expected to see.

According to Bulls insider Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Jaden Ivey’s postgame interviews were nothing out of the ordinary. Instead of the usual basketball discussion, Ivey would turn press sessions into full-on sermons.

He would ask reporters personal questions about his faith, including whether he was “saved” and whether he had “committed adultery before marriage.”

Sources close to the situation said that before Ivey arrived in Chicago, people around the Detroit Pistons were already calling him “the preacher”, but even that label did not fully explain what was going on.

What’s really going on around Jaden Ivey?

The situation quickly deteriorated after Ivey turned to social media. After the Bulls held a Pride Night event, Ivey went on Instagram Live and openly challenged the NBA’s LGBTQ advocacy. According to The Athletic, Ivey said on the livestream:

“The world can declare LGBTQ, right? They declare Pride Month. And the NBA, they declare it. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month, to celebrate inequity.’ They promote it on billboards. They promote it on the streets. Unrighteousness.”

The Bulls took action the same day and waived Ivy on March 30 for “conduct detrimental to the team”.

The live stream that said it all

Instead of staying quiet, Ivey got on Instagram Live and kept going until a flight attendant came over and shut it down. On stream, Ivey slammed the Bulls’ decision, saying:

“[The Bulls] Said that my conduct is harmful for the team. Why didn’t they say, ‘We don’t agree with his stance on LGBTQ’? Why didn’t he say so? How is this behavior harmful to the team? What did I do with the team? What did I do with the players?”

He also opened up about his personal past, sharing on Instagram:

“The NBA was everything to me. I didn’t know God. When I came to the NBA I was a womanizer, I was an alcoholic and a drunk. That’s all I knew. After all those points I felt good… I felt like everything was laid out for me.”

Mid-flight the live stream ended abruptly when a flight attendant interrupted him mid-sentence and caught him saying:

“All I’m preaching is about Jesus Christ… I’m telling you they’ll cancel me… He sees the things you’re doing at night… Obscenity… Adultery… Lies…” – at which point the flight attendant interjected: “I’m sorry to bother you… Are you on your mobile?”

What’s up with Aaron Rodgers? Does anyone ever really know?

This time, we just want to know if the 42-year-old is planning to return for a 22nd NFL season. If so, will it happen again with the Pittsburgh Steelers? This is the current expectation, but why is it taking so long?

Well, the Steelers don’t even know where the future Hall of Fame quarterback’s head is at. Still, they’ll likely want answers from the four-time NFL MVP soon.

According to team owner Art Rooney II, the Steelers are expected to hear back from Rodgers before the 2026 NFL Draft begins on April 23 as to whether he is returning, retiring or signing elsewhere.

“I’m still hoping for it,” Rooney told Gerry Dulac. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I hope we get an answer before the draft. That’s when I talked to him and Omar.” [Khan] Talked to him, he told us he won’t take as much time off this year as he did last year [to make a decision]. The Philadelphia 76ers are set to welcome Paul George back from his 25-game suspension to the lineup this week as they continue to battle for a playoff position in the Eastern Conference standings.

Paul George spoke to the media for the first time since his suspension, and according to Kyle Neubach of PHLY Sports, the 76ers star did not provide specifics about the reason for the suspension. But he revealed that he had been struggling with a knee problem which made the suspension almost a blessing in disguise.

George is set to return to the 76ers lineup when they host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. They are currently 39-33 and looking to get back in the win column after losing their last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 76ers are currently in the play-in position, but they are just one game behind the Atlanta Hawks for the No. 6 seed and a direct berth in the playoffs.

Before the suspension, George had appeared in 27 games for the 76ers, playing just over 30 minutes per game. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals with splits of 42.4 percent shooting from the field, 38.2 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 85.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

This is George’s second full season with the 76ers after signing as a free agent during the 2024 offseason. He appeared in only 41 games in his Philadelphia debut last year after his season was cut short due to knee and adductor injuries. Getting him back in the lineup would be a big help as the 76ers are dealing with multiple injuries.

Arsenal are seeing the best of Piero Hincapie at the right time, and the defender himself is acutely aware of this as the 2026 World Cup approaches.

The Ecuador international has become a key option for Mikel Arteta since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in September 2025.

Hincapie is no longer being talked about as a player who has adapted to English football. He is now part of an Arsenal team that is still fighting on many fronts, and his versatility has helped. He has been used as both a centre-back and on the left, providing Arteta with tactical flexibility.

In recent weeks, he has produced strong performances, including a standout performance against his former club Bayer Leverkusen. He also scored his first Premier League goal in a 2–2 draw against Wolves last month.

So when he talks about confidence, adaptation and responsibility, it fits into the wider picture at Arsenal.

Emotional return and Arteta’s demand

Another notable part of the interview was Hincapie’s praise for Gabriel Heinze, who joined Arsenal’s coaching staff in 2025.

“Heinz helps us a lot on the defensive side as well. He gives advice to everyone. He’s a great reference point for us too, having him in training.”

It should attract attention. Heinze arrived with a reputation for intensity and defensive aggressiveness, and Hincapie is one of the players to benefit from that influence.

He is already comfortable defending wide spaces, stepping into duels and covering on the left. The additional work on the defensive side could make him even more important to Arsenal next season.

However, for now, timing is the point. Arsenal have a defender in form, the player looks settled, and Ecuador will be pleased to hear that.

Hincapie is speaking like someone who knows this extension of the season could define both his club year and his World Cup summer.

The Washington Wizards have the NBA’s second-worst record at 16-53 entering Saturday’s home date with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they are on pace to make the top six in this summer’s draft. They have no incentive to bring players back from injury before their last game on April 12, especially four-time All-Star guard Trae Young.

The Wizards announced an update on the injury to the 27-year-old, who missed Monday’s 125-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors due to quad contusion.

“Young re-injured his right quadriceps during the third quarter of the game against Golden State on March 16. The former All-NBA honoree has played just five games since the trade after leading the league with 11.6 assists per game in 76 contests last year and 15 games overall this season.

The Wizards placed a minutes restriction on Young, as he averaged only 20.8 minutes in those five games. The 6-foot-2, 164-pounder is averaging 34.1 minutes in his career.

Young has a $49 million player option this summer. Assuming the former Oklahoma Sooner opts to extend and/or sign with Washington, he will likely be its point guard next season with star big man Anthony Davis and a young core including big man Alex Saar, sharpshooting guard Trey Johnson, wing Keyshawn George, wing Will Riley, guard Bilal Coulibaly and guard Bub Carrington. Additionally, whoever the team drafts this summer could be a superstar prospect like BYU’s AJ DiBuntsa, Kansas’ Darrin Peterson, or Duke’s Cameron Boozer, depending on which selection they get in May’s NBA Draft Lottery.

Trae Young showed how he can change the Wizards

If Young doesn’t return this season, the silver lining is that he showed why Washington chose him. The seriousness of the 2018 NCAA champion and assists leader on offense generated more open looks for its young core, making it easier for players like Johnson, Riley and Coulibaly to score. NEW YORK – Golden State Warriors veterans Al Horford and Seth Curry underwent MRIs after exiting the Dubs’ 127-117 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at halftime. Testing revealed a left mild shin strain for Horford and a left abductor strain for Curry. Both players will be reevaluated in a week, ruling them out of at least the Warriors’ next five games.

It has been a tough season for both veterans in terms of availability.

Horford missed seven consecutive games earlier this season due to a sciatic nerve problem. And due to his load management policy of not playing both ends of back-to-backs, he has missed 23 games so far, a number that is set to increase as he deals with this calf strain. Kerr said that because it is a calf injury, they will be cautious about his recovery, indicating a longer recovery period than a one-week re-evaluation.

As for Curry, he has barely been able to get going this season, as he has missed 40 consecutive games due to his sciatic nerve problem. After years of trade rumors, Max Crosby was finally dealt to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for two first-round picks. Reports leading up to the Ravens’ blockbuster trade for the five-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher revealed that the Raiders were waiting for an offer that included two first-round picks targeting a ‘Micah Parsons’ deal. Many people were skeptical.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys were confident they would win the Crosby trade sweepstakes. He even thought his deal for Crosby was almost done. However, when other teams stepped up with offers of two first-round selections, the Cowboys’ confidence diminished.

So, what did the Cowboys offer the Raiders in exchange for Crosby?

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys offered their first-round pick (No. 12 overall – two slots ahead of Baltimore’s offer), a future second-round pick (possibly in 2027), as well as an undisclosed veteran player for Crosby. The Cowboys were unwilling to part with two first-round picks.

Apparently, the Raiders declined, believing they received a better offer from Baltimore. Unless the veteran player was an impact starter, we’d argue that Las Vegas actually accepted a better offer from the Ravens.

The Cowboys, despite reportedly “keeping an eye on Crosby for a long time” and “loving” him, determined that he was not worth trading for two first-round picks. The Ravens felt otherwise.

The budding partnership between the Toronto Raptors and Buffalo Bills continues. During the 2025 season, the Raptors expressed their support for the Bills on social media. Now, both teams are taking the next step as Toronto hosts Bills Night 2 this Tuesday.

The architects behind this collaboration are two former Raptors players: Hall of Famer Vince Carter and his cousin Tracy McGrady. During the event, Carter and McGrady talked about the rationale behind the collaboration.

According to Josh Levenberg, he said, “Why not bring the two sports together to support each other rather than against each other?”

Carter says the Bills and Raptors fan bases are very similar in their passion for supporting their home teams. Both Toronto and Buffalo have some of the most passionate fan bases, even earning their own nicknames (Jurassic Park for Toronto, Bills Mafia for Buffalo).

“Seeing what Jurassic Park is like, especially when they’re on the road during the playoffs and things like that. Seeing what the Bills Mafia is, if you’ve never had that opportunity, I recommend it, if you’re not a part of it, just to see it. It’s just something special and (we want) both sides to collaborate and do it together.”

How are Carter and McGrady tied to the Bills? In 2024, the two Raptors alumni, along with Toronto FC forward Joey Altidore, were part of a private equity group that purchased a minority stake of the team. Both Carter and McGrady are now part-owners of the Bills, prompting this collaboration.

The relationship between Toronto and the Bills goes back even further. From 2008 to 2013, the Bills played home games in Toronto as part of a series. Discussions have resurfaced about the Bills playing home games in Toronto following the MLSE partnership between the Bills and Raptors, but Buffalo is focused on opening their new stadium first.

The Hornets’ only two losses in the opening five have come against the Detroit Pistons by six points and against the LA Clippers by eight points.

Brandon Miller is the Hornets’ scoring leader, averaging 20.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, while shooting 42.6 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three.

Kon Nueppel is averaging 19.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists for Charlotte, while shooting 49.1 percent from the field, 44.2 percent from three and 89.8 percent from the free throw line.

LaMelo Ball is averaging 19.4 points with 4.8 rebounds and a team-high 73 assists per game, while shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from three.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford attempted to sign OGC Nice’s Hicham Boudaoui in the winter market.

His impressive performances at the AFCON had caught the Seagulls’ attention, but there was no mention of the Championship side.

Africa Foot recently covered Galatasaray’s failure to sign the Nice star in the last window.

A recent report from the same outlet suggests that the Turkish club were not alone as Brighton and Hornets also failed.

Seagulls and Hornets submitted proposals

Africa Foot say the Algerian received ‘concrete offers’ from Galatasaray, Brighton and Watford at the end of the winter market.

It is unclear whether Brighton and Watford have submitted offers to Nice, the player or both, and even their details have not been mentioned. However, the report insists that their offers indicate ‘increased interest’ in the player.

The Istanbul club was the most insistent and their offer was to sign him on loan until the end of the season. Galatasaray were willing to pay his full salary and included a purchase option worth €15m.

Africa Foot made no mention of why Brighton, Watford or Galatasaray were unable to lure Boudaoui away from Nice.

Boudaoui’s contract is until 2027, and the French club has yet to decide on his future. In case of a sale, the outlet says he ‘represents an important asset for Nice, who will look to maximize any potential transfer fee.’

This would give Brighton and Watford a new opportunity to sign him in the summer.
