Los Angeles Rams ‘punished’ with 2026 NFL schedule

The 2026 NFL schedule was revealed last Thursday. Now that analysts have had a week to review the 18-week schedule, which includes a record number of nine international games, some believe the Los Angeles Rams got the beat early.

This has become a common talking point as fans have had a chance to digest the team’s schedule revelations on social media. It turns out, this isn’t just another Los Angeles conspiracy theory, this idea has spread among NFL insiders as well.

comes from the latest Sports IllustratedThe Wednesday edition of Albert Breuer’s weekly mailbag which answers questions submitted by readers. One question asked, “Does it feel like some teams are penalized for being popular when the schedule is made?”

Breyer’s response: “Sure, Joey. Look at the Chiefs’ schedule in 2024 and ’25 and the Rams’ schedule in 2026.”

Breyer referenced a column by his SI colleague Connor Orr, who previously wrote that the Rams “screwed up” with their 2026 slate.

“This schedule is absurd. Seven prime-time games. A season opener in Melbourne, Australia. One of the worst net rest differentials in the NFL. Four 2025 playoff teams in the first five weeks. Thanksgiving Eve. Christmas in prime time against the Seahawks. Two Seahawks games in three weeks to end the season. This, for a team with a 38-year-old starting quarterback that got through training camp last year without a space-age fitness trailer.” This is how the NFL inadvertently beat the Chiefs last year and it appears to be attempting to do so again with the Rams. That’s why Sean McVay cautioned ESPN to hold their horses when talking about the Seattle games at the end of the season because it’s unlikely the Rams will get there unscathed, but it’s disappointing to see the league’s premier offense completely sidelined by those factors. “Completely under the control of the league.”

SI’s Connor Orr on the Rams’ schedule

Obviously, the league tries to put the NFL’s best teams in primetime slots. The Rams are expected to be a Super Bowl contender, so seven primetime games should be no surprise.

Other obstacles, such as playing in Australia or being the two-time defending Super Bowl champions in the final weeks of the season, are also a result of the team’s popularity and overall expectations, where the league tries to save important divisional matchups for late in the season when it seems at every moment that playoff status is on the line.

Ultimately, if teams like the Rams can overcome a tough challenge, it means they are truly one of the best teams in the NFL. But this won’t be proven until the playoffs arrive. First things first, the Rams have to get there, and it won’t be easy.

Newhook Supremacy, Second Round Schedule, Hutson

Here are the Montreal Canadiens and NHL news items you may have missed on Monday.

montreal canadiens news

  • The Habs are one of the best teams in the NHL when it comes to handling adversity. On Monday night, Alex Newhook again played the hero and won his second series in a row. The Newfoundlander has been one of the most important players in the playoffs, stepping up when the Canadiens needed him most. [Canadiens Highlights: Newhook Clinches The Series]
  • See! The return of the playoff classic.
  • Whenever you’re on a list with Jacques Lemaire, Larry Robinson, Frank Mahovlich and Henry Richard, you know you’re in great company. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to suggest that now that Lane Hutson is on the list he is in better company.
  • Russ Courtnall, Claude Lemieux, and Yvon Lambert are also a pretty solid list.
  • It may not have been a good goal, but it can’t be denied that Newhook has fallen short in these playoffs.
  • There are few things more enjoyable than watching a young team win an exciting game.
  • The Habs won, so we don’t need to dwell on this game for too long, but it’s ridiculous that there was no penalty when the Sabers ran down Dobbs for the second time in the series.

Sportsknot Network

  • The winds of change are blowing with the Edmonton Oilers. One of those changes could involve Craig Berube. Recently, the Oilers relieved Mark Stuart and Chris Knoblauch of their coaching duties. Now, they must act quickly and accurately to add a new head coach who can help them cross the finish line. Bruce Cassidy was earlier associated with this franchise, but now a new name has emerged. [Edmonton Oilers]
  • Is Nico Hischier going to cost the New Jersey Devils more than $11 million per season for the next eight years? The latest AFP Analytics offseason contract projections indicate that may very well be the case. The Devils have a lot of answers to answer under new general manager, Sunny Mehta. [New York Devils]
  • Since ancient times, undue importance has been given to low-sized prospects. Look no further than Cole Caufield, the 5-foot-7 Montreal Canadiens 50-goal scorer who fell to 15th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The New Jersey Devils could take advantage of that bias towards smaller players by selecting Viggo Bjork if he is still available with their 12th overall pick in the first round on June 26. The Hurricanes face the Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Finals! Analysis, schedule and how to view

After nine days of wondering who their next opponent would be, the Carolina Hurricanes finally have their opponent for the Eastern Conference Finals following the Montreal Canadiens’ overtime win in Game 7 against the Buffalo Sabres.

Between their sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers in round two of the ECF and Game 1, the Hurricanes would have 11 days of rest, setting a modern NHL record. Ironically, only 1919 Canadians had more than 12.

Game 7 between the Canadiens and Sabers was certainly interesting. The Canadiens took an early lead by scoring two goals in the first frame, before the Sabers evened it out in the next two frames. However, the Sabers found the back of the net for the third time after the puck bounced off the legs of Jacob Dobbs, while the remaining puck was pushed across the line by Beck Malensteen. But unfortunately for the Sabres, as Dobbs tried to cover the puck, the referee blew the whistle – despite having no control over it, and the goal was ultimately waved off.

With 8:38 left in the extra frame, Alex Newhook got the game-winning goal.

A Brief History of the Hurricanes vs. the Habs

Throughout the regular season, the Canadiens won all three games against the Hurricanes. However, in the only two instances when the two teams have faced each other in the postseason (2002, 2006), the Hurricanes have defeated them in six games or less. Ironically, the Hurricanes also appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals in both postseasons, and won the championship in 2006.

Canadiens advance to conference finals, series schedule

The Montreal Canadiens advance to the Eastern Conference Finals after defeating the Buffalo Sabers 4–3 in their second-round series.

The Sabers won Game 1 and Game 4, but the Canadiens were the better team, as shown by their dominant performances in Game 2 and Game 3. That being said, Buffalo deserves credit for its impressive comeback in Game 6.

All things considered, advancing to the Conference Finals is quite an accomplishment for the league’s youngest team, but the hard work is far from over.

Next playoff opponent

The Canadiens will face the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals, a powerhouse team that has yet to taste anything but success in the 2026 NHL Playoffs.

The Hurricanes easily defeated the Ottawa Senators 4–0 in the first round series, outscoring them 11–5 in the process. They continued their momentum into the second round, where they once again had a dominant performance, defeating the Philadelphia Flyers in four consecutive games and defeating them 13–5.

Simply put, they have been the best team in the playoffs, and by a wide margin.

They are sure to be very well rested compared to the Canadians, although that may not be an advantage given the situation. While the Habs have lacked rest, they have maintained their lead by playing every two days and facing equally competitive opponents.

While the Hurricanes have not played a game since May 9, meaning they will be facing a very cold winter ahead of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Given that Game 1 of the series is scheduled for May 21, the Hurricanes will not have played an NHL game in a dozen days, leaving a significant amount of rust for these highly-tuned athletes.

Of course, his lack of game-time action in recent days will be mitigated by the fact that the Hurricanes are one of the most talented teams in the league.

Cardiac Kids, Defensive Duo, Schedule Update

Here are the Montreal Canadiens and NHL news items you may have missed on Thursday.

montreal canadiens news

  • The Canadiens found themselves in a hole early in Game 5 against the Buffalo Sabres, but as has been the case all year, they were at their best once they faced a little adversity. The Habs’ dominant effort led to a thrilling 6-3 win in Buffalo. [Canadiens Highlights: Comeback Kings Crush Sabres]
  • Given that defenseman Arbor Zekaj played less than 4 minutes in Game 4, there was talk that he would be replaced in the lineup for Game 5 by Jaden Struble. All things considered, the third pairing is a no-brainer. More than anything, depth defensemen need consistency to find their rhythm. [Canadiens Defensive Situation: Xhekaj Or Struble]
  • With all due respect to Lindy Ruff, the diving accusations of Game 4 are as old as milk.
  • They weren’t the worst cases of embellishment in NHL history, but the adage about houses of stone and glass comes to mind.
  • Regardless of the outcome of Thursday night’s Game 5, it’s always interesting to hear Martin St.-Louis’ calm and straightforward approach to coaching hockey.
  • Victoire is also known for her fair share of late-game drama. Montreal tied Game 1 of the PWHL Finals in the final seconds of the third period, and went on to win it in overtime when a puck bounced off Abby Roque’s head.
  • Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday night at 8 p.m., an odd start time to say the least. And now, let’s have a different start time for Game 7 if necessary. The final game of the series, scheduled for Monday, has been postponed to 7 to 7:30 pm ET.
  • Former Hub Brett Kulak is clearly a lucky charm. Following his trade to the Colorado Avalanche, the veteran defender is headed to the conference finals for the fifth time in just six years.
  • I have to admit, this is the first time I’ve seen this aquatic pre-game ritual between zekas and athletic therapists.
  • Tage Thompson was right to suggest that the Sabers need to take fewer penalties in Game 5. For what it’s worth, the Sabers avoided penalties for more than 40 minutes on Thursday night.
  • And they say sports should be fun!

Sportsknot Network

  • Sunny Mehta was brought in as general manager to be adventurous, and he certainly has the opportunity to do that this summer via the New Jersey Devils trade. Mehta’s background shows that he is willing to take risks as a former professional poker player, an options trader, and even became a professional musician. So, why wouldn’t he at least try to acquire Quinn Hughes? [New Jersey Devils]
  • Who will be the new head coach of the Edmonton Oilers? J Woodcroft? Craig Berube? Bruce Cassidy? Jessica Campbell? The Oilers did what everyone expected and fired head coach Chris Knoblauch. Additionally, he relieved Mark Stuart of his coaching duties. Oilers general manager Stan Bowman issued a statement on May 14, making the move official. [Edmonton Oilers]
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs’ new brain trust John Chayka and Mats Sundin have not yet had their talks with captain Auston Matthews. But when they do, they hope to find out what his intentions are. [Toronto Maple Leafs]

Full round one schedule, how to watch and preview

The Carolina Hurricanes’ first round playoff game against the Ottawa Senators has been scheduled, and excitement is high due to one of the Hurricanes’ best seasons on record.

How do the playing styles of the Hurricanes and Senators match up?

Interestingly, both the Hurricanes and Senators utilize a similar playing style. Preferring an attack-heavy approach, they both focus on outscoring their opponent in all three areas – but especially in the offensive zone. Both teams are in the top 10 in the league for most shots on goal (Hurricanes 2nd, Senators 9th), and in the top three for fewest shots (Hurricanes 1st, Senators 3rd).

That being said, with the exception of shooting percentage, the Hurricanes lead the Senators in most general statistics and analytics (as expected due to the Hurricanes’ high volume of shots on goal), allowing more high-danger opportunities.

Hurricanes goaltending vs. Senators goaltending

In goaltending, both the Hurricanes and Senators have performed well recently.

For Ottawa, Linus Ullmark has improved markedly since his leave of absence in late December. Before that, he was 14-9-5 with just an .881 save percentage. Since returning, he has posted a 14–4–3 record and a .904 save percentage.

Additionally, James Reimer has proven to be a solid backup since signing during Ullmark’s absence, helping him lead the standings with 16 valuable points in 13 games played throughout the season.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes have relied on the consistency of first-year NHLer, Brandon Bussey, to overcome injuries and slumps where he compiled a 31-6-2 record – tied for the fourth-most goaltender wins across the league this season. After the Olympic break, his performances were a bit subdued compared to what he was producing, but still, he went 8-3-1 in those games.

As for Frederik Andersen, the Olympics did well for him and gave him a much-needed reset after his own bad situation began in early November. Prior to the Olympics, he had posted a record of 7–10–5, but after a stellar effort for Team Denmark, he finished the remainder of the NHL season 9–4–0.

Statistically, the Hurricanes have the edge over the Senators, but it can’t be denied that both teams have not only survived a lot of adversity in net, but thrived in spite of it.

How did the Hurricanes fare against the Senators in the season series?

Of the three games played between the Hurricanes and Senators, the Hurricanes won two. However, those victories did not come easily.

January 24 – Hurricanes win 4–1

In their first meeting, the Hurricanes were outshot and had 37 shots on goal (59 total shot attempts) and only 19 shots on goal (44 total shot attempts). The Senators held the edge in physicality, giving them 12 of their 34 hits, and also owned the faceoff dot for the most part, with the Hurricanes winning only 32.1% of faceoffs. Ultimately, it was Busey who saved his bacon, playing the best game of his NHL career to date, recording his highest save percentage in a single game (except for his two shutouts, where he made 16 saves in each).

February 3 – Hurricanes win 4–3

It was a similar story in the second meeting, as the Senators still outshot them 27–19, attempting 54 shots compared to their 50. However, the Hurricanes threw around the body more than in the previous game, giving up 20 of their 27 hits, and their faceoffs improved, making things even 50–50. Additionally, he also saw an increase in offensive zone starts, dropping the puck in the Senators zone 61.4% of the time, as opposed to 32.5% the previous match. The score was very close, but still in favor of the Hurricanes.

April 5 – Senators win 6–3

In their latest meeting, the Hurricanes did not have a good time against the Senators, defeating them 6–3. He saw another defeat in Dots, as he won only 39.1% of his draws. However, they produced a strong offensive effort, making 28 shots to the Senators’ 31, and 64 shot attempts to the Senators’ 56, as they defeated Ottawa 30–28. Ultimately, the Senators blocked 22 of those shots.

However, the Hurricanes suffered three losses in the game.

First, they were missing both Jordan Staal and Jordan Martinook from the lineup, as they were being rested. Secondly, they were in the second half of a back-to-back, going from a 7:00 pm puck drop to a 5:00 pm puck drop, which included a trip. After all, they had clinched a playoff berth the night before, and thus, did not have to meet the same level of frustration displayed by the Senators.

Round One Schedule and Broadcast Information

All Hurricanes first-round games will be broadcast by the local team on FanDuel Sports Network South, in addition to the national broadcast. However, this will likely be the last time we see broadcasts from FDSNSO, as it is expected to shut down indefinitely at the conclusion of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Could Jayson Tatum’s documentary schedule hint at a return?

BOSTON – No matter how much the Boston Celtics have accomplished on the court this season, there will always be discussion about what’s happening off the court. or rather, Who is off the court, because Celtics fans just want to know one thing: When is star forward Jayson Tatum coming back?

While no one in Tatum’s camp has confirmed whether the six-time All-Star will return to play this season after suffering an Achilles injury in May, there are multiple outside reports speculating he will return before the 2026 NBA Playoffs begin.

A possible clue lies in the making of “The Quiet Work”, a five-episode documentary from Zero Pressure Productions (a new production company owned by Tatum), which chronicles Tatum’s recovery and eventual return to action. The existence of this short series suggests that the 27-year-old, who turns 28 on Tuesday, could be suiting up for the green team soon.

And perhaps the release schedule of “The Quiet Work” confirms that theory.

Why is Jayson Tatum’s documentary ahead of schedule?

Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (0) during the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center.
Matt Blewett-Imagen Images

In a February 22 press release from Zero Pressure Productions and their broadcast partner, NBC Sports, it was announced that five minisodes documenting Tatum’s mental and physical journey “will air on a weekly basis.”

This was initially the case with the first two episodes, as Episode 1 was released on February 22 before the Celtics’ emphatic win over the rival Los Angeles Lakers and Episode 2 was released on March 1 before the Celtics’ Sunday night win over another rival – the Philadelphia 76ers.

There is a clear weekly pattern outlined in the press release. However, after Boston’s home win against Philly, NBC removed Episode 3 and Tatum later posted it to his YouTube account on Monday afternoon.

So, why the sudden change? If Tatum’s rehab process turns out to be true to the documentary, is it almost over?

These questions remain unanswered, but given the repeated references to a return in Episode 3 and the commercials around Boston announcing his return to action, it seems Tatum could potentially play during the 2025-26 campaign.

Of course, recovery is a fickle thing, especially with an Achilles injury. And while the Celtics would obviously love to have Tatum back in the lineup, they’ve won enough that they don’t need to rush the process. Boston is now 40-20 overall, in second place in the Eastern Conference, and just two wins off last season’s pace, when Tatum was healthy and the Celtics were loaded with talent.

In Tatum’s absence, Celtics star Jaylen Brown has taken up the load. He became an Eastern Conference All-Star starter for the first time in his career this season and led the Sixers with 27 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes on Sunday.

“I think we did a good job of being unselfish and playing Celtics basketball,” Brown said after Boston’s 40th win. “I think we’re starting to figure it out. Tonight was a team win. Everybody did their job. When you’re doing that, it makes you more dangerous.”

Although the Celtics have overachieved beyond most pundits and pre-season projections, they are still a team with a missing piece. They won’t be full on Monday night when they face the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum, but maybe they can be full again before March ends.

Practice Ka Pakka Schedule: Cricket Life 🏏🔥 #shorts #cricket #indiancricket

Practice Ka Pakka Schedule: Mastering the Cricket Life in India

In India, cricket is not just a sport; it is a religion. From the narrow streets of Mumbai to the lush grounds of Bangalore, every youngster dreams of wearing the Blue Jersey. However, the journey from Gully Cricket to the Indian Cricket Team requires more than just talent—it requires a Practice Ka Pakka Schedule.

Inspired by the viral trending hashtag #shorts #cricket #indiancricket, we dive deep into what a dedicated “Cricket Life” looks like and how you can structure your day for maximum performance.

The Morning Grind: Early Starts for Better Results

Most successful Indian cricketers, from Virat Kohli to hard-working domestic players, start their day before the sun rises. A typical Practice Ka Pakka Schedule begins at 5:00 AM. This early start allows for focus on physical fitness before the heat of the day kicks in.

  • 5:30 AM – 7:30 AM: Fitness and Conditioning. Focus on agility drills, core strength, and endurance running.
  • 8:00 AM: High-protein breakfast (Eggs, Oats, or Poha with sprouts).

Net Sessions: The Heart of Your Practice

Between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM, the focus shifts to the nets. This is where you refine your skills. For a batsman, it’s about timing and shot selection. For a bowler, it’s about hitting the right lengths consistently.

In a true Cricket Life, your net session should be “Match Specific.” Don’t just swing the bat randomly. Set targets, imagine fielders, and play according to a specific match situation. This mental simulation is what separates a street player from a professional.

The Importance of Discipline and Recovery

The phrase “Pakka Schedule” implies discipline. In the afternoon, while the sun is at its peak, smart cricketers focus on recovery and theory. This includes watching videos of your technique, analyzing mistakes, and taking a power nap to allow muscles to repair.

Diet also plays a crucial role. Avoiding “Junk Food” and staying hydrated with electrolytes is essential in the Indian climate to prevent cramps and fatigue.

Evening: Sharpening the Reflexes

Evening sessions (4:00 PM – 6:30 PM) are often dedicated to fielding drills. In modern cricket, fielding is as important as batting or bowling. High catches, ground fielding, and direct hits should be practiced until they become second nature. This is the essence of #indiancricket—being a complete 3-dimensional player.

Conclusion

Following a Practice Ka Pakka Schedule is not easy, but it is the only way to reach the top. It requires sacrificing temporary pleasures for long-term goals. If you want to live the Cricket Life, start small—fix your wake-up time, hit the nets with a purpose, and never skip your fitness drill. Remember, every ball you face in practice brings you one step closer to your dream of playing for India.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How many hours should I practice daily to become a professional cricketer?

On average, a serious cricketer spends 5 to 7 hours daily, divided between skill training, physical fitness, and mental conditioning.

2. Can I start a cricket career at the age of 18?

While most start younger, many Indian players have made it big starting late. A disciplined “Pakka Schedule” and consistent performance in local leagues can still get you noticed by scouts.

3. Is a gym workout necessary for cricketers?

Yes, strength training helps in injury prevention and generates power for hitting sixes or bowling fast. However, focus on functional training rather than heavy bodybuilding.

4. What is the most important part of a cricket schedule?

Consistency. It is better to practice for 2 hours every single day than to practice for 10 hours once a week.

Today’s NHL Hockey Scores, Results & Schedule #nhl

Today’s NHL Hockey Scores, Results & Schedule: The Indian Fan’s Guide

While cricket often dominates the sports landscape in India, a growing community of enthusiasts is turning their attention toward the fastest game on ice: the National Hockey League (NHL). Whether you are following the legendary Montreal Canadiens or the star-studded Edmonton Oilers, keeping up with today’s NHL hockey scores can be a challenge due to the time zone differences. This guide provides everything you need to know about recent results and upcoming schedules.

Understanding the NHL Schedule in Indian Standard Time (IST)

The primary hurdle for Indian fans tracking hockey scores is the clock. Most NHL games take place in North American evening slots, which translates to early morning hours in India (typically between 4:30 AM and 8:30 AM IST). Keeping track of the #nhl hashtag on social media is a great way to get instant highlights while you sip your morning tea.

Today’s NHL Hockey Scores & Results

The current NHL season is delivering high-octane drama. With teams battling for divisional dominance, every point matters. Recent results have shown a surge in offensive play, with top-tier players like Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon consistently finding the back of the net.

To find the most accurate today’s NHL hockey scores, fans should look for:

  • Final Scores: Total goals scored by the home and away teams.
  • Period Breakdowns: How many goals were scored in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods.
  • Overtime (OT) or Shootout (SO) Results: Crucial for understanding how bonus points are awarded in the standings.

Upcoming NHL Schedule: What to Watch

The NHL schedule is grueling, with teams often playing back-to-back nights. For Indian viewers, weekend games are often the most accessible, as some “matinee” games in the US air during the late evening in India.

Key matchups to watch for include “Original Six” rivalries (e.g., Rangers vs. Bruins) and clashes between Western Conference powerhouses like the Vegas Golden Knights and the Colorado Avalanche. Checking the schedule 24 hours in advance ensures you don’t miss the puck drop.

How to Track Hockey Scores Effectively in India

Since live broadcasts can be limited on traditional Indian cable TV, digital platforms are your best bet. Using the official NHL app or reputable sports news websites allows you to set notifications for live hockey scores. This is particularly useful for those who cannot watch the full game but want to stay updated on goals, penalties, and power plays.

Conclusion

The NHL offers a level of speed and physicality that is unmatched in other professional sports. While the time difference poses a small challenge, staying updated with today’s NHL hockey scores, results, and schedule has never been easier thanks to digital streaming and real-time social media updates. Whether you are a seasoned hockey fan or a newcomer from India, the thrill of a last-minute goal is worth the early wake-up call. Keep following #nhl for the latest updates and join the global community of hockey fans!

In India, NHL games are typically available through digital streaming platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar or the NHL.TV pass. It is best to check the current season’s official streaming partner in the region.

2. What time do NHL games usually start in India?

3. How many teams are there in the NHL?

There are currently 32 teams in the NHL, divided into two conferences (Eastern and Western) and four divisions.

Watching winter sports in India has become significantly easier with the rise of digital streaming. Here are the primary ways to catch the action live:

1. JioCinema (Digital Stream)

Following the trend of major sporting events like the IPL and FIFA World Cup, JioCinema is the most likely destination for free or subscription-based streaming of the Winter Olympics in India. You can download the app on your smartphone, tablet, or smart TV.

Key Players to Watch

The rosters for both Canada and the USA are often packed with NHL superstars (depending on league agreements) or the brightest young prospects from the NCAA. For the Indian audience, look out for the tactical “Power Plays” and the incredible reflexes of the goaltenders, which share similarities with the defensive drills seen in Indian field hockey.

While India continues to grow its interest in winter sports, this matchup serves as the perfect introduction to the speed and adrenaline of ice hockey.
