Hockey club Ambari Piota announced that they had signed Jarventi early on May 5. The Switzerland-based team released a statement following the addition of Jarventi, one of three signings announced by the team.

“Hockey Club Ambro Piotta is pleased to announce that it has extended the contract of forward Michael Jolley to 2028 and has signed forwards Nate Schnarr and Robbie Gerventi until the end of the 2027/2028 season,” the statement begins. “Robbie Jarventi, a Finnish forward, born in 2002 and drafted in the second round by the Ottawa Senators in 2020, developed his career in the Ilves youth academy, where he made his Liiga debut. He made 58 appearances in the Finnish top division, scoring 27 points.

The statement further said that these signings reflect the identity they want to give to their team.

He added, “These moves are in line with the club’s strategy for a new blue and white era.” “The sports department has identified players with clear and recognizable identities, who are capable of keeping the team at the center and playing with a sense of sacrifice and responsibility. We believe we have chosen the appropriate profile to ensure continuity on the path we are on, thereby creating a solid foundation on which to build the future.”

Jarventi’s 2025–26 season was much better than his injury-plagued 2024–25 campaign. In 61 AHL games for the Bakersfield Condors, he recorded 23 goals and 24 assists for 47 points. The forward added two assists in three AHL playoff games.

Jarventi’s one-year, $775,000 contract with the Oilers officially expires on July 1, 2026.

Undrafted free agent quarterback Diego Pavia has a new home in the NFL. Pavia has signed a three-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens after the 2026 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. The 24-year-old quarterback was the runner-up for the 2025 Heisman Trophy behind Fernando Mendoza.

Pavia, who became the first Heisman Trophy runner-up to go undrafted since Brad Banks in 2003, joins a stacked quarterback room with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley. Earlier on Tuesday, the Ravens also signed undrafted quarterback Joe Fagnano to a three-year contract.

Pavia went undrafted due to concerns about his size and playing style transitioning to the NFL level. Despite throwing for 3,539 yards, 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions, the 24-year-old quarterback did not receive much interest in the draft. Pavia also did not receive an immediate contract as an undrafted free agent.

This gives Pavia a chance to secure a spot on Baltimore’s 53-man roster for the 2026–27 NFL season. This also means the former Vanderbilt Commodore quarterback will likely battle Fagnano for the QB3 role behind Jackson and Huntley during the summer.

Although this contract does not guarantee Pavia a spot on the 53-man roster, it is a great result after going undrafted. The Ravens were initially going to bring Pavia to their rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis, but the team already signed him.

If Pavia does not find a role behind Jackson and Huntley, he could join the practice squad to begin the 2026–27 NFL season. Either way, Pavia is likely to get a significant amount of reps with Fagnano during the 2026 NFL preseason.

First event and 2026 schedule confirmed

The first event under the new deal will be Zuffa Boxing 05: Cortes vs. Garcia on April 5, 2026 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.

Andres Cortes will face Aridson Garcia in the main event. On the undercard, Mark Magsayo faces Feargal McCrory.

Zuffa Boxing will release its full 2026 schedule in the coming weeks. The plan includes at least five events in the UK under the Sky Sports agreement.

The Boston Celtics have made a contract decision involving one of their two-way players. Luckily for rookie Max Shulga, he was the player who got his first standard contract.

According to ESPN’s NBA insider Shams Charania, Shulga signed a two-year contract with the Celtics on Saturday. Boston got the young guard in the second round of the 2025 draft, acquiring him from the Orlando Magic.

“The Boston Celtics are signing two-way forward Max Shulga to a standard two-year contract. The Ukrainian guard went to Boston with the No. 57 pick in last June’s NBA draft and has spent the season with Maine in the G League,” Charania wrote, sources told ESPN.

Shulga has made cameos in his rookie season, appearing in three games in which he played 1.7 minutes per contest. He attempted only one shot in that limited time and committed two fouls.

What’s next for the Celtics after the latest signing?

This is great news for Max Shulga signing his first non-two-way contract as he now earns a higher salary with the Celtics. This allows him to gain a roster spot because it now paves the way for another player to take the open two-way spot.

Shulga played five seasons throughout his collegiate career, representing Utah State and VCU. He enjoyed his best years in his later years, transforming into an elite sharpshooter as he helped the Rams reach the NCAA Tournament in his final season. He averaged 15 points, 5.9 rebounds and four assists on 38.7% shooting from deep in the 2024–25 NCAA season.

Boston compiled a 44–23 record on the season and finished second in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers while trailing the Detroit Pistons.

After Saturday’s win over the Washington Wizards, the Celtics will look forward to their next matchup. They will be at home when they host the Phoenix Suns on March 16 at 7:30 pm ET.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has offered Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur encouragement as he plans his next move this summer.

That trophy cabinet includes six Bundesliga titles, one Champions League and several other competitions including the DFB Pokal, DFL Supercup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Free agent this summer

This makes it an attractive option in the market. In fact, he has long been linked with a move to the Premier League. There is interest in them even before the summer.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania: Tyus Jones, the Denver Nuggets have been trying to add some guard depth to their team since the trade deadline, and they were finally able to pick up someone who can help them for the remainder of the season.

“Free agent guard Tyus Jones has agreed to sign with the Denver Nuggets, his agent Kevin Bradbury of Lift Sports Management told ESPN. An experienced point guard and ball handler to fill a Nuggets backcourt need,” Charania, formerly of the X, wrote on Twitter.

The Mavericks waived Jones last week after signing Ryan Nembhard to a two-year contract.

To begin the season, Jones was with the Orlando Magic after signing with the team during the offseason, and was considered a key player coming off the bench. This did not go well for the Magic and he was eventually traded to the Charlotte Hornets. Jones was then moved to the Mavericks.

Jones will now be part of a team competing in the Western Conference and finishing in the top five in the standings. They have lost their last two games to teams ranked above them, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves, and that could be a cause for concern considering there are only so many games left in the season.

The Nuggets have had to deal with injuries to their key players throughout the season, with Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson currently sidelined. When they are fully healthy, there is no doubt that they are one of the better teams in the league, and they are still capable of sticking with what they have.

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion and AEW alum Jake Hager is officially returning to the world of combat sports, but not in the way many fans were expecting.

During an appearance on TMZ’s Inside the Ring podcast, the 43-year-old revealed that he has signed a six-appearance contract with Dana White’s Power Slap promotion. Hager is scheduled to make his heavyweight division debut on April 17, 2026 in Las Vegas – the Friday night of WrestleMania 42 weekend – in an event that will be broadcast live on YouTube. Hager’s transition into the controversial world of slap fighting was facilitated by a familiar face from his professional wrestling past.

Sin Bodhi, known to WWE fans as Kizarni, currently serves as the head of talent relations and recruiter for Power Slap. Bodhi, who has been vocal about his goal of bringing “monsters and villains” from the wrestling world into the promotion, targeted Hager as his top recruit for the 2026 season.

“I’m very excited to announce that I have signed with UFC Power Slap, and they are doing a show at Vegas Live on April 17th. It’s the Friday before Mania. I will be competing on that show in the heavyweight division,” Hager announced. “I’ve been told my face is pretty slappable, so I’m sure the line will be around the corner.”

Despite the ongoing medical investigation and high risk of injury surrounding slap fighting, Hager shared a lack of concern about potential injuries. The former “All-American” said he understands the inherent risks and trusts the organization to provide the necessary medical coverage. Hager also took the opportunity to officially rule out an MMA comeback, citing his age and desire to step away from the grueling training camps required by the cage.

“I mean, you know what you signed up for. You’re signing up to get slapped and try to slap somebody as hard as possible. So I expect injuries. I know the UFC does a pretty good job of covering all the expenses related to injuries. Honestly, I’m not worried about it.”

While his MMA career – in which he suffered a 3-0 no-contest loss in Bellator – is likely over, Hager hinted that a return to professional wrestling is a possibility. Since his AEW contract expires in June 2024, Hager has spent time away from the ring managing his Florida-based trucking company, “Howlin’ Oats”. However, he said that his body is feeling much better after the hiatus and he is ready to take bookings again.

SAN FRANCISCO – It’s been a career year for Gui Santos, and the Golden State Warriors have rewarded him in that way.

According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, Santos and the Warriors agreed to a contract extension, the team announced Saturday morning — a three-year, $15 million deal with a player option for 2028-29. Santos was set to become a restricted free agent this summer, but the Warriors signed him to a deal that will benefit both parties.

With Golden State troubled by injuries and absences this season, Santos emerged as a key rotational component in Steve Kerr’s system. A 2022 second-round draft pick out of Brazil, the third-year forward has transitioned from the Warriors’ G-League affiliate in Santa Cruz to now being a guy Kerr and the Dubs rely on in tightly contested games.

Since Kerr joined Santos as a starter about a month ago Averaged 15.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 28.8 minutes in 12 games.

In that span, Santos has come up with two game-winning buckets – a fastbreak layup to take the lead against the Phoenix Suns and a chaotic layup in traffic at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

“He’s taken another step forward this year, Gui,” Kerr told reporters after a win in Memphis earlier this week. “Last year, he was a very important role player for us. Number one on the team in plus-minus and then [Jimmy Butler] Business, he really strengthened that role. But now, he has become more active as a creator [and] A post-up boy. The step-by-step moves you saw were incredible.

“He has the ability to play point guard when the other team is putting pressure on us. He’s a really versatile player and someone we really value.”

Santos’ journey to the NBA

For Santos, the journey to this point in his career has required patience. After the team’s practice Thursday afternoon, Santos reflected on what he needs to do to become a guy capable of staying in the NBA.

“I think the key word for this is patience,” Santos said.

“Patience, because when I got here, I was a point guard playing in Brazil. I was playing as a point guard, with the ball in my hands, and I spent the whole year in the G-League just learning how to fit into the system here, because my goal was always to play in the NBA, play for the Warriors. And I asked [Kerr]What am I supposed to do? And he was like, okay, I’ll show you the way, like, you have to work hard on defense. You have to crash the boards all the time, and you just have to find Steph.

It’s safe to say that Santos did all of those things, which is why Kerr felt comfortable increasing his minutes this season after not seeing much action the past two seasons.

But ultimately, what stands out about Santos is his relentless positivity and upbeat personality. You’ll rarely find Santos without a big smile on his face, whether he’s on the podium, at practice, or talking with teammates. That’s why even now, he’s grateful for the opportunity and support given to him by the Warriors.

“The coaches here, the staff and the organization, they’ve always been good to me,” Santos said. “They always help me with anything I need, and because of what’s happened right now they’re giving me a chance to show a little more.”

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Dallas Mavericks struck gold this season when they selected undrafted point guard Ryan Nembhard on a two-way contract and officially signed him to a standard deal after the team waived veteran Tyus Jones.

The signing of Ryan Nembhard brings the Mavericks’ current roster to 15 standard contracts. It was originally thought that Tyus Jones would finish the season with the Mavericks, but according to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, he reportedly approached the team asking for a release so he can join a playoff contender.

Weaving Jones may not be the last roster mover the Mavericks make this weekend. According to Siegel, the Mavericks are also awaiting Khris Middleton’s decision, with the waiver deadline for players being on Sunday to be eligible to play in the playoffs. Middleton was acquired at the trade deadline, and there will be plenty of playoff teams interested in his services if he hits the buyout market.

In Nembhard, the Mavericks have a young guard who could be a part of the team’s future. He was limited under his two-way contract in the number of NBA games for which he could be active, and his days of eligibility were almost over.

He has appeared in 38 games this season, including 17 starts, averaging just over 18 minutes per game. He averaged 6.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists with splits of 42.9 percent shooting from the field, 37.9 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 76.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

The Mavericks are currently 21-38 and in 12th place in the Western Conference standings. With each passing day, the chances of a run in the play-ins are becoming less likely.

After spending several years on an NBA roster on a two-way contract, the Indiana Pacers rewarded Quenton Jackson by signing Quenton Jackson to a standard three-year deal, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Jackson began the season on a two-way contract with the Pacers and the team was impressed with his performance.

With the signing of Quenton Jackson to a regular contract, the Pacers’ roster has now reached 15 standard contracts. The team now has an open two-way contract space, with rookie forward Taillon Peters and second-year guard Ethan Thompson also on two-way contracts.

Jackson has played a key role for the Pacers this season, appearing in a career-best 30 games, including 10 starts, in just over 17 minutes per game. He averaged career-highs of 9.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while splitting 48.9 percent shooting from the field, 40.5 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 81 percent shooting from the free-throw line. His field goal percentage and 3-point percentage are also career highs.

After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, Jackson signed with the Washington Wizards during training camp. He did not make the final roster, but later returned to the team on a two-way contract for the 2022–23 season. Jackson’s next stop in the NBA was with the Chicago Bulls ahead of the 2023–24 season, but he was waived before the start of the year.

He was playing in the G League when the Pacers first signed him to a two-way contract during the second half of the 2023–24 season. The Pacers re-signed him to a two-way contract later that year, and he has been with the team ever since.

Having additional frontcourt depth, especially in exchange for an upcoming playoff run, is never a bad thing. The San Antonio Spurs bolstered the frontcourt depth on their roster on Friday with the signing of veteran big man Mason Plumlee to a remaining season contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Mason Plumlee originally signed a 10-day contract with the Spurs, and his new contract came just as the 10-day contract was about to expire. The Spurs’ roster now stands at 15 standard contracts and three two-way contracts.

Plumlee entered the free agent market after being waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He began the 2025–26 season with the Charlotte Hornets, but was included as part of the multi-team trade that sent Ousmane Dieng to the Chicago Bulls.

The Thunder then needed a roster spot to complete a trade agreed upon with the Philadelphia 76ers involving Jared McCain, and Plumlee was the casualty.

Plumlee, the 22nd overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, is in his 13th season in the league. Before signing with the Spurs, he had appeared in 14 games with the Hornets, including two starts, playing a little over eight minutes per game. He averaged 1.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists while splitting 75 percent shooting from the field and 66.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Plumlee began his NBA career with the Brooklyn Nets, and has also had stints with the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, LA Clippers, and Phoenix Suns. As far as the Spurs’ current depth chart, Plumlee would appear behind Luke Kornet, Kelly Olynyk and Bismack Biyombo in terms of centers. He is yet to feature in a game for Spurs.

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Wednesday that they have signed guard Jules Bernard to a two-way contract. As per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed. Bernard will remain with Minnesota’s NBA G League affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, where he has been one of the league’s most productive guards this season.

In 37 G League appearances (33 starts), Bernard is averaging 22.5 points while playing 34.5 minutes per game. He’s shooting 42.5% to 42.9% from the field, 34.9% to 35.3% from three-point range, and 80.1% to 80.6% from the free-throw line. His all-around production included 6.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The 26-year-old has scored 30 points six times, including a season-high 38 points against the Long Island Nets on January 18. On February 7, he recorded 30 points with eight three-pointers, along with season highs of 13 rebounds and 13 assists in a 123–120 win over the Maine Celtics.

Bernard previously signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards through the 2023–24 season, in which he appeared in 19 games for a total of 149 minutes. He averaged 3.9 points on 45.3% shooting, including 37.9% from three, and 1.4 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per game. He made his NBA debut on December 8, 2023 in a 124–97 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

Undrafted out of the UCLA Bruins in 2022, the Los Angeles native played four collegiate seasons, appearing in 130 games (65 starts) and posting career averages of 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 23.4 minutes per game, while shooting 43.0% from the field and 35.4% from three. As a senior in 2021–22, he averaged 12.8 points and 4.7 rebounds and earned Pac-12 All-Tournament Team honors.

The Timberwolves had a two-way slot open after waiving Johnny Juzang. Bernard is eligible to remain active for up to 14 NBA games for the remainder of the regular season and will need promotion to the standard 15-man roster to qualify for postseason play.

The 2025-26 NBA season is not going well for the Memphis Grizzlies, and it didn’t get any better for them on Saturday, when they lost to the Miami Heat by a score of 136-120.

A big reason for the Grizzlies’ struggles in the campaign are the injuries they have been dealing with.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Memphis reportedly made a move to add a healthy body to the roster on Monday, as they added a former Portland Trail Blazers player to the team.

The 21-year-old Rupert entered the league in 2023 when the Trail Blazers used their No. 43 pick in that year’s NBA draft on him. In 139 games played over two seasons for Portland, Rupert averaged 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists while shooting only 36.7 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from behind the arc.

The 6-foot-7 Rupert played his final game in a Portland uniform last Thursday on the road against the Utah Jazz, scoring two points, grabbing four rebounds and recording a steal with two turnovers in 16 minutes of action in the 135-119 win. The next day, the Trail Blazers decided to waive him after promoting Sidi Sissoko to make room on the 15-man roster.

The move to the Grizzlies presents an opportunity for Rupert, who has a fully guaranteed $2.2 million contract through the 2025-26 season, to see a larger role on the court.

The Philadelphia 76ers officially signed guard Tyrese Martin to a two-way contract on Thursday, the team announced in a press release. President of basketball operations Daryl Morey confirmed the move as the Sixers continue to restructure their roster following the All-Star break.

The 26-year-old Martin began the season with the Brooklyn Nets and appeared in 37 games with six starts. He averaged 7.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 18.8 minutes per game while shooting 39.2% from the field. He scored in double figures 12 times, including a season-high 26 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 5-of-9 from three-point range against the Toronto Raptors on November 23. After meeting the guarantee deadline of his January contract and securing his entire $2.2 million salary, Martin was waived on February 5 to make roster space for Brooklyn’s trade for Hunter Tyson.

Over the past two seasons with the Nets, Martin played in 97 games, making 17 starts, and averaged 8.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 20.7 minutes per game, while shooting 34.6% from beyond the arc. For his three-year NBA career with the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn, he has appeared in 113 games, averaging 7.2 points on 40.1% shooting as well as 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He has six 20-point performances in his career, including a 30-point outing with eight three-pointers against the Phoenix Suns on November 27, 2024.

Originally selected 51st overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, the Allentown, Pennsylvania native has also performed in the G League. In 72 games with the Atlanta Skyhawks, Iowa Wolves and Long Island Nets, Martin averaged 17.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32.8 minutes, recording 25 double-doubles and 21 games of at least 20 points, including five 30-point attempts and one 40-point game.

Martin filled Philadelphia’s open two-way spot with Marjon Beauchamp and Delon Terry after Jabari Walker was promoted to the 15-man roster.

The 76ers entered the stretch run with a score of 30–25, sixth in the Eastern Conference, avoiding the play-in tournament. With Paul George serving a 25-game suspension, Martin has added depth to the backcourt as the Sixers head toward the postseason.

The Denver Nuggets continue to make adjustments to their rotation in the midst of another postseason push. The latest move comes in the form of former Charlotte Hornets guard KJ Simpson, who has joined on a two-way contract.

According to Shams Charania, Simpson’s two-way contract replaces Spencer Jones, who was previously converted to a standard contract and will become a restricted free agent in the summer.

Jones’ promotion was largely procedural but also performance-earned. The 24-year-old has emerged as a reliable rotation wing while battling injuries, starting 34 of 46 games while averaging 6.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 23.6 minutes per game.

His 41.4% 3-point shooting and 50.5% overall field goal percentage have made him an underutilized but highly functional spacer in Denver’s offense. More importantly, Jones’ defensive impact means he ranks 24th in defensive rating (118.1).

Contract conversion also solves the roster compliance issue. Denver had dropped to 13 standard contracts following the Hunter Tyson trade, making Jones’ promotion the simplest way to meet the league’s 14-player minimum.

The Nuggets still retain an open roster spot, with Jones’ current deal also allowing the franchise to make some significant financial changes. Denver is already projected to have over $200 million in salary commitments next season and looks to add some much-needed depth.

Jones began the year on a two-way contract, which typically leads to a lower qualifying offer after conversion to a standard deal. However, since he has already started 34 games, the 24-year-old is close to reaching the league’s starting cap.

Simpson averaged 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 21.3 minutes in 50 NBA games with Charlotte before being waived. His G-League production has been remarkably strong, posting 18.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists with Greensboro, indicating considerable offensive potential.

Selected 42nd overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, Simpson has not appeared in a single game for the Hornets since the start of the campaign and will be eager to get his first taste of NBA action in the current campaign.
