Thunder’s Chet Holmgren launches new Nike KD 18 PE sneakers

Most of the rookies and young stars in the NBA grew up watching Kevin Durant of the Rockets as one of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen. Durant essentially changed the meaning of scoring as a seven-foot player, something Oklahoma City Thunder forward Chet Holmgren certainly modeled his game after growing up. As a tribute to arguably his biggest influence, Holmgren will be releasing upcoming PE colorways of Durant’s signature Nike KD 18.

Upon entering the league in 2022, Holmgren signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike that includes sneaker sponsorship. While Holmgren is still waiting to make the leap into his own signature sneaker model, he has favored the Nike KD series during most of his time in the NBA. It’s fitting since both players share a similar tall frame and Holmgren has been modeling his game after Durant since playing AAU.

The Nike KD 18 serves as Kevin Durant’s latest sneaker in his illustrious signature catalog, which Nike has attempted to revive with retro releases of KD’s past sneakers this year. These upcoming Chet Holmgren PEs (Player Exclusive) will be arriving as retail releases within the coming months.

Nike KD 18 PE (Chet Holmgren)

Giving fans additional information about release dates during the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, Holmgren confirmed the upcoming release of “Camo” and “Thunder & Rain” colorways of the Nike KD 18. The first to feature is a “Camo” colorway arriving on March 13th, 2026. Coyote/Security Orange-Medium Brown Outdoor-inspired attire. Based on Brown and Olive Green, we see a Real-Tree pattern across the upper and accents in the iconic Safety Orange known to all outdoorsmen.

The following “Thunder and Rain” pairing comes as a surprise Space Purple/Multicolor-Pure Purple Color scheme. Holmgren rocked these during the Thunder’s season opener against the Rockets and Kevin Durant, making these a special pair in his PE collection. The majority of the shoe is constructed in purple, with cheetah print panels on the underlying layers, giving it an undeniable Prince vibe given Holmgren’s roots in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Both pairs will be releasing alongside each other in exclusive Nike SNKRS drops on March 13th, 2026. The pairs come in limited quantities in full sizes and as Holmgren said, “Once they run out, there won’t be any more.”

The new Nike Kobe 3 sneakers are inspired by The Forum

Few buildings in the world have become as iconic as the original Fabulous Forum, now known as the Kia Forum or simply “The Forum”, playing host to countless legends during its years of operation. Attracting stars from all over Los Angeles and hosting the Los Angeles Lakers, fans were always looking forward to a show whenever they attended the Forum. Nike will release a new Kobe 3 sneaker paying homage to the magical moments and unmistakable atmosphere of the venue.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

The Forum opened in 1967 in Inglewood, California as an architectural marvel of its time and immediately became one of the most recognized indoor venues in the world. The arena featured the Los Angeles Lakers throughout the “Showtime Lakers” era, with the Los Angeles Kings and Wayne Gretzky also gracing the ice.

The Lakers notably moved to Staples Center in 1999, but not before Kobe Bryant was able to play his first three seasons (1996, 1997, 1998) on the same floor as legends like Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar during their iconic careers. Paying homage to that early “Mamba magic,” the pair are inspired by the lights that illuminated the Forum during its heyday.

Nike Kobe 3 Low “Mamba Magic”

Based on an updated Nike Kobe 3 Low silhouette, the colorway has been identified as Doll/Pink Foam/White To simulate light pink lighting around the forum. We see a lavender purple hue on the rubber webbed upper, which appears slightly translucent to match the lighter shade of the outsole. A black line along the midsole leads into the rear heel plate, matching the black sockliner.

While the look is still limited, we see chrome Nike branding throughout and the Mamba tongue logo. The laces and tongue are dressed in White mesh to provide further contrast, completing the overall palette for this interesting colorway.

We’re still awaiting an official release date, but the Nike Kobe 3 Low “Mamba Magic” is expected to drop sometime during the Spring of 2026. Expect an online release via Nike SNKRS as well as more stock at select Nike locations.

Paolo Banchero’s Air Jordan sneakers come with a unique backstory

The Orlando Magic continue their chase for the NBA Playoffs as they currently sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Despite all the ups and downs of the season so far, franchise star Paolo Banchero remains their consistent leader on both ends of the floor. Always paying attention to details, Banchero’s latest Air Jordan 4020 PE sneakers may have a hidden meaning originating from the pre-game ritual.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

The Magic’s Paolo Banchero will be the first to admit that stretching before any basketball activity is non-negotiable. He described suffering from a shin sprain as a junior and how it hindered his play until he met a trainer who taught him a stretching routine with rubber bands. Despite it being difficult at first, Banchero continued the routine and eventually saw his shin sprain disappear. He has since incorporated the routine before all basketball activities.

“Since then, I’ve never stopped doing it, and now I can’t workout, I can’t exercise without doing it, it energizes my body. I think just being in my shape, being flexible and being able to go in different directions and things, that’s all important.”

Banchero’s Air Jordan 4020 PE

Signed as a Jordan Brand athlete, Banchero is always first in line to rock his PE (Player Exclusive) featuring the latest Jordan technology. Recently seen in the Air Jordan 4020, the sneakers perfectly match the vibrant green of the rubber bands used by Banchero during his routines. Painted in a clean white and neutral gray base, we see green on the rear heel, outsole, and most notably the oversized strap along the midfoot.

Making a splash in the new PE, Banchero averaged 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists en route to a 111-109 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Clearly, both the pre-game stretching and the sneakers paid off, but we’re not sure if this colorway will release to the public yet or remain exclusive to the former Rookie of the Year.

Ja Morant’s ‘Murray State’ Nike Ja 3 sneakers are returning

Memphis Grizzlies franchise star Ja Morant has always worn his heart on his sleeve since his days as a high-flyer for the Murray State basketball program. Morant took the country by storm with his generational talent and has been entertaining NBA fans since being drafted second overall in 2019. As was the case with his previous releases, Morant recently shared his Murray State Nike Ja 3 signature shoes.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

Ja Morant paved quite the way for himself at Murray State, and became the program’s all-time leader in single-season assists (331), single-season points (808), and career assists. In 2018–2019, Morant became the first player in NCAA men’s basketball history to average 20+ points and 10+ assists per game.

After linking up with Nike and releasing his first signature sneakers shortly thereafter, the Nike Ja 3 stands out as Morant’s most unique creation to date. The stunning silhouette is uniquely linked to his electric play on the court and this upcoming “Murray State” colorway serves as a constant reminder of where Morant became a household name.

Nike J3 “Murray State”

Morant released previous “Murray State” versions of his Nike Ja 1 and Ja 2 sneakers over the past two years, all of which were a uniform white/blue/yellow colorway to match the Racers’ school colors. Sporting a “Claw” design throughout the Nike Ja 3, the left shoe will feature alternating scratch marks with a yellow-to-blue gradient, while the right shoe of both shoes will feature a blue-to-yellow gradient for a mismatched look.

Based on the ZoomX outsole, the shoe will feature a White base on the upper, tongue and sockliner. We see Electric Blue/Yellow Nike Swooshes on the lateral side of both shoes, framed by a metallic JA logo on the tongue. Overall, this is definitely the most unique “Murray State” colorway we’ve seen from the signature line yet.

The Nike J3 “Murray State” will release on March 5th, 2025 for a standard retail tag of $125. The shoes will come in full family sizes with adjusted pricing and are expected to be available on Nike SNKRS release day. Usually available in ample stock, be sure to also check your local Nike retailers to see if they are stocking pairs.

What are your thoughts on Morant’s latest Nike Ja 3 creation?

Ja Morant leaks more unreleased Nike Ja 3 sneakers

Whether or not Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant spends the rest of his career in a Grizzlies uniform is still to be determined, but he hasn’t been a bigger ambassador for the city since arriving in 2019. Recently, Morant has been sharing some leaks of unreleased colorways of his signature Nike Ja 3 sneakers on social media.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

Ja Morant has been with Nike since 2019, just before he was drafted by Memphis with the second overall pick. It wasn’t until 2023 that Nike officially released the first Nike Ja 1 sneakers, which instantly sold out and generated a lot of hype for the line. Three years later, Morant is on his third signature model and has been actively releasing new colorways of the Nike Ja 3.

After sharing several “leaks” on social media, one of which was the new giraffe-inspired Nike Ja 3 “Ja Rafe”, Morant continued to share more looks at unreleased versions of his latest sneaker. Some themes like the “Scratch” colorway make a return while teasing new concepts for the first time.

Ja Morant shares new Nike Ja 3 colorways

In addition to the aforementioned annual special “Ja Rafe”, Morant returns with a teal/red/black “scratch” outfit to match the Grizzlies’ throwback logo and uniforms. We’re also seeing the return of the Mardi Gras theme in yellow/green/violet to celebrate the party in the Big Easy. The “Ja Rough” colorway is likely to remain exclusive to Morant, but there is a strong possibility that we will see the other two leaks appear in retail releases.

The Nike Ja 3 is currently available through Nike retailers for the standard price of $125. In addition to the most recent “Warning Label” All-Star release, expect an extensive slate of releases planned for the remainder of the NBA season as the Grizzlies continue their quest for the NBA Playoffs.

Which of these Nike Ja 3 colorways would you like to see release?

Ja Morant teases insane new ‘Ja Rafe’ Nike Ja 3 sneakers

As one of the most prolific players in the NBA, it’s only fitting that Memphis Grizzlies franchise star Ja Morant has a shoe to match his explosive play. Their most recent signature sneaker, the Nike Jaa 3, is easily the most unique one in their collection and offers one of the most spectacular colorways we’ve seen in the last year. Recently, Morant shared a glimpse of the upcoming “Ja Ruff” colorway that die-hard fans are much more familiar with.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

Upon being recruited by the Grizzlies and adopting Memphis as his new home, the city showed its love for Morant by inviting him to the Memphis Zoo in 2020. They even went the extra mile to name one of their newborn giraffes after the baby sensation – Ja Raf.

Once his signature sneaker launches in 2023, it was only fitting that Ja Morant used a giraffe-inspired colorway in his Nike Ja 1 sneakers. A year later, Morant teased a follow-up Nike Ja 2 “Ja Ruff” sneaker and eventually wore the sneakers in-game for the Grizzlies. Following this lead, Morant recently shared a “leak” of the Nike Ja 3 “Ja Rafe” colorway.

Nike Ja 3 “Ja Rafe” Leaked by Ja Morant

The Wild pair returns in another brown/tan/pink theme that resembles the look of Morant’s friend. Typically featuring paw prints throughout the upper, this Nike Ja 3 will feature brown giraffe spots on the mesh panels. The Nike Zoom outsole will feature alternating toe prints in brown and gray with a pronounced tan “A” towards the heel. The final detail features a pink Nike Swoosh with the writing “JA” across the upper, a humorous nod to Ja Raffe’s pink tongue.

Previous “Ja Ruff” colorways have not released to the public and while the Nike Ja 3 is being reworked and released at a faster pace, don’t be surprised if Ja Morant keeps this collection special for himself and his giraffe “son.”
