Golden State Warriors rumor mill reveals top target this summer, but there’s a problem

A new rumor points to the All-Star being the Golden State Warriors’ top target this summer. However, there is one important hurdle that must be overcome first.

After entering the season as a secret contender in the West, injuries to Golden State’s top two players completely derailed their NBA Finals aspirations. Finishing the season with a 37-45 record and missing the playoffs guarantees that change is definitely coming for the Warriors this offseason.

Over the past few weeks, rumors and speculation have been rife that NBA greats like LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard will be on the team’s radar. But who’s really at the top of their wish list? A new report has shed new light on that question.

“League sources say the Warriors were the team that most aggressively traded for the Clippers’ Leonard in the final stretch before the league’s Feb. 5 trade deadline, while the Clippers had already traded James Harden and Ivica Zubac that same week,” Mark Stein reported at Steinline.

Why will Kawhi Leonard be the Warriors’ top target this summer?

The Warriors reportedly made a play for James in a trade a few years ago. He has also been viewed as a top contender if he tests free agency this offseason. Golden State was reportedly very aggressive in looking for an Antetokounmpo trade even before the deadline.

If James does decide to retire this summer he will need to take a significant pay cut to play for the Warriors. While they will have more assets to offer this offseason, if their original trade package wasn’t enough to convince the Milwaukee Bucks in February, will it really be enough in a few months?

Leonard brings a lot of risk. But there is a real possibility that his contract could be voided, and he may be more willing than James to take a discounted rate to play for a contender. Or the Clippers may want to trade him. The cost to acquire the seven-time All-Star would be much lower than that of Antetokounmpo due to Leonard’s age and long injury history.

Considering how hard they were going after him before the trade deadline, it would make a lot of sense for Leonard to be the Warriors’ top target in the offseason. However, Steen noted a major obstacle in the pursuit of Leonard or any experienced star.

He wrote, “However, whether the Warriors re-emerge as a contender will depend on whether Steve Kerr returns as Golden State’s coach after 12 seasons.” “If Kerr is rehired as the coach of this team, it would be a very strong signal that the Warriors will try to assemble at least one more season of experienced players around Stephen Curry to try to compete. Conversely, if the two sides part ways, it could signal the beginning of a real Bay Area overhaul.”

Bo Jackson reveals how close he came to leaving Ohio State in transfer portal

For the first time, Ohio State star running back Bo Jackson responded to rumors that he was considering leaving the Buckeyes in the transfer portal.

During the Buckeyes’ run to the national championship during the 2024 season, the team had a major two-headed monster in the backfield. Quinshawn Judkins passed for 1,060 yards and was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in Round 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. His teammate Treveon Henderson posted 1,016 yards and averaged 7.1 yards per rush. This is why he was also selected in Round 2 by the New England Patriots.

This has created a huge void in the backfield that will be nearly impossible to fill in just one offseason. However, right from the start, freshman Bo Jackson did an admirable job of trying to fill that numbers job with 1,090 yards and a 6.1 average per carry in his first season.

After putting up such good numbers as a rookie for a title contender, his representation undoubtedly told him he might be able to command an even better payday in the transfer portal. There were rumors that he might jump. However, Ohio State did what it should have done and gave him zero pay increases for 2026.

Bo Jackson came no closer to leaving Ohio State in the transfer portal

But how close was he to actually testing his value in the transfer portal? “It really wasn’t a difficult decision [to stay]Jackson told the media at spring practice this week. “This is where I want to be, so I’m here where I want to be.”

The running back claimed that speculation about him leaving Ohio State in the winter was “just rumors.” Luckily for Buckeyes fans, it looks like the change of scenery never really came to a close, and he’ll be back in Columbus this year.

Steve Kerr is rumored to coach his final season with the Golden State Warriors in 2026-27

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has been a key part of the organization’s turnaround with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Kerr has won four NBA Finals since joining Golden State in 2014. However, could the Warriors head coach be nearing the end of his tenure with the organization?

As Tim Kawakami of The San Francisco Standard reported, the most likely scenario is Kerr returning to the Warriors for a “Last Dance” during the 2026–27 NBA season. This will likely be the 60-year-old’s final season coaching Golden State. At the moment, Kawakami believes Kerr has not fully made his decision.

Kerr is currently in the final season of a two-year extension. If Kerr and the Warriors wish to continue their partnership, they must reach a contract extension before the 2026–27 NBA season. After all, there are reasons for Kerr to return, as Golden State is expected to make some major upgrades.

It has been widely speculated that Kerr wants to retire at the same time as Curry, but it is unclear when the star point guard plans to step away from basketball. Curry is likely to retire in the next few seasons as he approaches age 40, but if Kerr has a “last dance,” he may not step down all together.

Kerr has been one of the NBA’s best head coaches since 2014, and the Warriors will leave an era that featured incredible success. Curry and Green are no longer in their prime, but other players like Brandin Podziemski are trying to pave the way moving forward in Golden State.

The Warriors’ last NBA Finals win was in 2022, and if Kerr returns for another season, the team hopes to find that magic again.

Who is Arvel Reese? Details on Ohio State star’s rise to elite NFL draft prospect

Ohio State linebacker Arvel Reese put on a show during the NFL Scouting Combine. Participating with the edge rushers at the combine in Indianapolis, Reese ran a 4.46 40-yard dash with a 10-yard split of 1.58 seconds. Measuring 6-foot-4 1/8 and 241 pounds were also some of the most impressive measurements for a player at his position.

Reese totaled 69 tackles and 6.5 sacks last season in Columbus. He is widely expected to be taken in the top five of April’s NFL Draft and could go as high as No. 2 overall to the New York Jets. Reese has taken the college football world by storm this season, as he has seen his draft stock rise.

Now, as he prepares for the draft, let’s take a deeper look at what made Arvel Reese who he is today.

What high school did Arvel Reese go to?

Arvel Reese attended Glenville High School, where he won a state football championship playing for coach Ted Ginn Sr. He was also named a finalist for the 2022 high school Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top high school linebacker.

What college did Arvel Reese go to?

Reese attended The Ohio State University. He is currently majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences. His GPA is still not public information.

What is Arvel Reese’s draft projection?

Reese is projected to be a top 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

arvel reese college statistics

Reese put together a strong two-year college resume, showing clear development and defensive impact. In the 2025 season, he recorded 69 total tackles, including 34 solo stops and 35 assisted tackles, while adding an impressive 6.5 sacks and two pass deflections.

This is a significant jump from his 2024 campaign, where he recorded 43 total tackles (18 solo, 25 assisted) and 0.5 sacks. In both seasons, Reese did not record any forced fumbles, fumble recoveries or interceptions, but the increase in his pass-rushing production and overall tackle volume in 2025 highlighted his evolution into a more disruptive defensive presence.

Are the Dallas Cowboys planning a Round 1 trade for an elite Ohio State prospect?

A new report on an upcoming meeting between the Dallas Cowboys and a top NFL Draft prospect looks to open the door to a trade in Round 1 of next month’s event.

After a disappointing 7-9-1 finish to the 2025 season, the Cowboys will look to further improve their roster in April’s draft. While last season was bad at times, a pro having a bad year is a premium pick next month, and Dallas would especially go 12th overall in Round 1. Additionally, they also have the 20th pick after being traded up last season.

Over the past few weeks, various mock drafts have linked him to LSU corner Mansur Delaney, Auburn edge Keldrick Faulk and Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman. Strong prospect, but not the best of the best in the 2026 class from college football. However, it seems the team is looking to select a top-five level player in Round 1.

Are the Dallas Cowboys interested in trading for Sonny Styles?

During Thursday’s appearance up and adamsOhio State star linebacker Sonny Styles revealed the Cowboys are one of the teams he will be meeting with in the coming days.

Stiles was viewed as a potential top 10 selection earlier this year. However, his outstanding performance at the NFL Combine last month raised his stock significantly. Now, some mock drafts have him going as No. 2 to the New York Jets — a team Styles recently met with — and as No. 3 to the Arizona Cardinals.

It is always difficult to trade in one of those slots. However, due to having a weak quarterback class this year, both the Jets and Cardinals could be willing to acquire two first-rounders from the Cowboys and add two top 20 players to this year’s class. Since both teams need more roster help than Dallas does.

Styles is a fantastic athlete who could be a game-changer for Dallas in 2026 if they choose to move up and select him.

Golden State shorthanded for Nets matchup amid injuries to Stephen Curry, Moses Moody

The Golden State Warriors will be shorthanded against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday as they try to post their first win in two months. With Jimmy Butler out for the season, Stephen Curry will miss his 23rd consecutive game with a right knee injury. Meanwhile, Moses Moody (left patellar tendon rupture), Quentin Post (right foot injury management), Al Horford (right soleus strain) and Seth Curry (left adductor strain) are also sidelined.

Steve Kerr clarified the Warriors’ stance on a potential Curry return during an interview on Wednesday.

“If we don’t feel good about (his knee), he’s not going to play. We’re not going to push him into anything if things aren’t really clear,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game.

The Warriors have suffered injuries to several other rotation pieces amid the absences of Curry and Butler.

Horford has missed the team’s last six games due to a calf strain. Meanwhile, Moody ruptured the patellar tendon in his left knee during Monday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. The post mentioned a problem with his right foot. Wednesday will be his fifth absence since March 7.

The Warriors are 7-15 during Curry’s absence. They rank 25th in offense, 23rd in defense and 22nd in net rating (-5.4) during that span.

Golden State continues to hold on to 10th place in the Western Conference standings. Kerr’s team is 1.5 games behind the ninth-place Portland Trail Blazers and two games behind the eighth-place Los Angeles Clippers with 10 games remaining.

Luckily for them, the Nets will also be severely shorthanded on Wednesday. Michael Porter Jr. is out with a hamstring strain, while Noah Clowney (right wrist sprain), Nolan Traore (rest), Danny Wolf (left ankle sprain), De’Ron Sharp (left thumb surgery) and Egor Demin (left plantar fascia injury management) are also out.

Brooklyn has lost its last eight games.

Golden State has ‘cautious optimism’ Stephen Curry will return

The Golden State Warriors have “cautious optimism” that Stephen Curry will return before the end of March as the team continues to advance into a crucial stretch of the regular season.

Golden State (33-35) is set to face the Boston Celtics (45-23) on Wednesday at TD Garden, with tipoff scheduled for 4:00 pm PT on ESPN. Before the matchup, Curry was seen taking shots during pregame warmups, indicating progress in his recovery.

ClutchPoints’ Kenzo Fukuda captured Curry’s on-court activity on X, formerly known as Twitter, while ESPN’s Shams Charania provided more details during an appearance on NBA Today.

“There is cautious optimism that Stephen Curry will be back in the lineup sometime by the end of the month. And then I’m told that on Tuesday afternoon in Boston he had a vigorous workout on the court, running, cutting, moving, starting to make some light contact like the Stephen Curry we know again.”

Charania said:

“The most important thing is that he’s not experiencing the inflammation that he had the last several weeks or a month ago when he needed to get PRP injections because of knee problems, from my understanding, so, now it’s about him maintaining this conditioning, getting as much comfort in the knee as possible before he’s able to get the call to get back on the court.”

Curry has been sidelined with a knee problem that required PRP injections, limiting his availability during a significant portion of the schedule. His potential return comes at a crucial time, as the Warriors have slipped to ninth in the Western Conference standings despite a 125-117 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday night.

After Wednesday’s contest in Boston, Golden State has six games remaining in March, including a continuation of its current six-game road trip with three upcoming games away from home. The remainder of the schedule presents an opportunity for the Warriors to gain momentum as they strive for position in the play-in tournament.

Curry’s return would provide a significant boost to a Warriors team that has struggled with consistency in his absence. As the regular season enters its final stretch, Golden State remains focused on balancing Curry’s long-term health with the urgency of climbing the standings.

Golden State agrees to contract with ex-Heat center

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to sign center Omar Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, according to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Charania reported the move on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday, citing Yurtseven representatives.

“The Golden State Warriors are signing former Heat and Jazz center Omar Yurtseven to a 10-day contract. Yurtseven, who spent the season in the EuroLeague before joining the G League last week, posted 36 points and 12 rebounds on Friday night,” agents Keith Glass and Luke Glass told ESPN.

The 27-year-old Yurtsev most recently played in the NBA with the Utah Jazz during the 2023-24 season. In that campaign, the 7-foot center averaged 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 53.8% from the field in 48 appearances, which included 12 starts. He also attempted perimeter shots, connecting on 20.8% of his three-point attempts while logging 11.4 minutes per game.

Prior to his time at Utah, Yurtsev spent two seasons with the Miami Heat, where he drew attention for his rebounding ability and interior scoring. During his tenure in Miami, he played a rotational role and showed flashes of productivity when given extended minutes.

Yurtseven recently began the current season playing in the EuroLeague abroad before returning to the United States. He joined the G League last week and made an immediate impact, putting up a dominant performance with 36 points and 12 rebounds on Friday night.

The Warriors are expected to use the 10-day contract as an opportunity to evaluate Yurtseven’s fit within the roster while adding depth to their frontcourt rotation. Golden State has dealt with injuries and lineup adjustments throughout the season, creating a need for additional size and interior presence.

Golden State enters the midst of a challenging stretch of the schedule. The Warriors currently have a 32-34 record and are attempting to stop a four-game losing streak as they struggle to remain competitive in the Western Conference playoff picture.

The team would like to bounce back in its next match against the New York Knicks (43-25). The matchup is scheduled for 5:00 pm PT and will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

Golden State turned the page quickly after a crushing defeat to the Bulls.

SAN FRANCISCO – Back-to-back losses to two actively trying teams are hard to swallow. But that’s what the Golden State Warriors will have to do after losing 130-124 to the Chicago Bulls in overtime.

The Warriors led by eight with 91 seconds left in regulation, but their performance fizzled out at the end of the game in the final seconds of overtime.

“We couldn’t finish it off,” Kerr said bluntly after the game. “They got two free throws with one second left, and they were able to send it to overtime. And then they were the better team in OT.”

The reason the Bulls got to OT were two mistakes by the Warriors. Two-way rookie LJ Cryer missed a free throw with a chance to give Golden State three points, opening the door for Bulls center Jalen Smith to knock down two free throws to tie the game after Draymond Green fouled him with his hand on his hip as he caught a pass in the corner.

From there, as Kerr said, Chicago attacked the Warriors in overtime. Matas Buzelis finished with a career-high 41 points with a dagger three with 2:20 left in OT, while Josh Giddy topped the scoring with a 21-point, 13-rebound, 17-assist triple-double.

But despite a stellar performance from the Bulls’ young core, the loss was caused by Green’s uncharacteristic mistake at the end of regulation. When Kerr was asked what happened on Green’s mistake, he took responsibility for his mistake.

“It was a foul. I saw the replay, and I’m convinced.” [Green would] Love getting it back. Just his hand fell in the wrong place. And [it] This would have been a tough shot for Smith to hit. And Dre knows he just needs to challenge [Smith]. He was in a difficult situation. He did not play the entire fourth quarter. And then I threw him out there for some defensive possessions, because I know how good he is on that end, but he wasn’t exactly loose and in flow. And I’m sure that didn’t help the case.”

Defensive woes plague Golden State

Still, the Warriors said they haven’t lost a game in a game or two. After the game, Pat Spencer pointed to their defensive issues and how Chicago controlled the flow of the game.

“We were a little soft on the ball,” Spencer said. “Think they’re very smart, and I think if we’re being honest, they didn’t have a group of guys that typically knocked down the three ball at a high rate. They still didn’t shoot that well. It felt like we were a little passive on that side. They’ve got some guys that can create a little bit. It felt like they played at their pace most of the night.”

Golden State lost 64-49 on the boards, holding the Bulls to 20 offensive rebounds. Buzzellis and Giddy got where they wanted, usually breaking down the Warriors’ shell and getting into the paint.

However, it is not that the Warriors did not work hard. While Cryer missed crucial free throws, he finished with 17 points on 3-of-5 from deep. Spencer himself was +18 plus/minus with 17 points and six assists as he led the Dubs’ leads in the third and fourth quarters. They even got a strong game from Kristaps Porzingis, with the big man collecting 17 points and four blocks in his third game with the Warriors. Porzingis got the crowd at Chase Center going when he hit a big three on the wing to cap a 12-0 run late in the third.

But ultimately, the Dubs lost, and that loss on their tab erases any good they did. This is the defeat of a team in the middle of a tank, which had previously lost to a team Fined By the league for tanking.

It doesn’t help that the Warriors are injured, no Steph Curry, no Jimmy Butler, and Moses Moody and De’Anthony Melton are out. But this kind of defeat is devastating for a team trying to survive.

how warriors move forward

With Golden State falling to 32-33 on the season, he hasn’t had time to nurse his wounds. They are in danger of falling far behind the Clippers, who passed them for the eighth seed this week. The Warriors are currently in ninth place, where they need to win two consecutive games to make it to the playoffs. They’ll get an update on Curry’s knee on Wednesday, but in all likelihood they’ll have to do without him when they get him up.

Gary Payton II said, “We can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We know if we play the right way we can be ahead in any game.” “Bus [got to] Finish the season strong. Like I said, late, late in the second half, you know, clear up some mental things. “And I think we’ll put ourselves in a great position to close out the game.”

The Warriors’ optimism still remains. The high end of what this team can be, like the upset over the Houston Rockets, gives them confidence. But consecutive losses to tanking teams shows where the Warriors are at this season. Barely stepping into the water with a faint hope that their star might return in time to save them.

State Victor Vembanayama ties Nikola Jokic

It was another terrific day for Victor Wembanyama as he led the San Antonio Spurs to a 121-106 win over the Detroit Pistons. After the win, Vembanyama equaled a record held before According to State Muse, by Nikola Jokic.

Vembanyama have already put themselves on the map, being a monster on the board and a force on defence. Partly because of him, the Spurs are NBA Finals contenders ahead of schedule in the rebuilding process. His five blocks against the Pistons were another example of dominance on the defensive end, which also included Detroit’s offense.

Vembanyama continued to be a threat on the offensive end, leading the Spurs with 38 points and 16 rebounds. His leadership, along with the strong play of De’Aaron Fox and Stephen Cassel, have revitalized the Spurs and helped put them in a position to compete with the best.

The win against the Pistons improved their record to 45–17, and they are currently in second place in the Western Conference. Wembanyama has dominated the NBA this season and taken the next important step in his development. While much of the NBA thrives on the offensive side of the ball, Wembanyama makes his mark on both ends of the floor.

For years, Jokic had that reputation. While he remains a threat, Vembanyama has officially entered the history books, and he did so in a short period of time. Vembanyama is averaging three blocks per game. Although this is down from his average of 3.8 points last season, his mark on defense still remains strong. Ahead of a big showdown with the Houston Rockets on Sunday, Wembanyama will get another chance to keep the momentum going as the Spurs next host the Los Angeles Clippers.

Steve Kerr hails 2 Golden State heroes in epic Rockets win

With how weak the Golden State Warriors are right now, every win has felt like a miracle recently. But this latest one may take the cake.

With seven players sidelined, including Stephen Curry and three of the 10 active players who received playing time on two-way contracts, the Warriors displayed some courageous and inspired basketball to defeat the Houston Rockets 115-113 in overtime on the road.

Brandin Podziemski led the Dubs to the upset with 26 points and nine rebounds. He scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, including a 26-foot bomb with 2:32 left in OT, giving the Warriors a lead they would ultimately hold.

“I thought it was Brandin’s best game of the year,” coach Steve Kerr said after the win. “Had just the right mix of on- and off-ball attacks. You saw him make that flare and dive opportunity to start overtime that gave us the lead. He recognizes those plays probably better than anyone else on the field.”

With Podziemski’s heroics, Draymond Green turned back the clock to lead Golden State to an unexpected win. In a very Green-esque stat line, the veteran star produced 10 points, five rebounds and eight assists while protecting Rockets star Kevin Durant as the primary defender.

“ Vintage Drummond,” Kerr said. “Defense, leadership, force, passing.”

Green, who has struggled recently, showed why he remains a valuable cornerback for Golden State. In sports when the lights are at their brightest, and the stars are on the other side, the Warriors need to dim the lights – Green is the kind of guy who rises to the occasion.

“I don’t enjoy guarding Kevin,” a good-natured Green said after the game. “I enjoy competing against great players, and Kevin is one of the greatest players of all time. Top five NBA basketball players in the history of the game… I’m always excited for that.”

How the understaffed Dubs made it on the road

Golden State Warriors guard De'Anthony Melton (8) celebrates after scoring a basket during overtime against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center.

Surrounding those two dominant performances, De’Anthony Melton collected 23 points, three steals and two blocks, Al Horford added 17 points, and Gui Santos collected 14 points and six rebounds and had a game-high +20. Melton and Horford made a big 3-3 in the fourth quarter to send the Warriors to overtime.

But the Warriors also got this win because of their two-way guys, guys who aren’t the 13th, 14th, or even 15th man on the bench. Golden State got valuable minutes from rookies LJ Cryer, Malefi Lyon and Nate Williams, three players under two-way contracts who were headed to the G-League Santa Cruz team earlier this week. With key rotational pieces Moses Moody and Will Richard out with minor injuries, Kerr relied on all three of them.

Cryer, who is no stranger to big moments in his time with the NCAA powerhouse Houston Cougars, collected 12 points off the bench, including a huge 3-pointer in overtime. Lyons somehow finds himself guarding Reed Shepard of all POA players and looks solid while doing so. And Williams, whom the Warriors acquired just two weeks ago, gave him 18 solid minutes when he needed them.

“A great group, these young guys have come in,” Kerr said. “Nate Williams has played really well for us. Malefi, you see the energy he brings. It was really fun to watch LJ tonight…come out tonight, hit four threes, big shots, big minutes. We started him in overtime because we were trying to keep Melton’s minutes down. He made some big plays for us, he’s a winner.”

hold the fort until curry returns

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green (23) brings the ball up the court during the second quarter against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center.
Troy Taormina-Imagen Images

At this point, every win for the Warriors keeps them afloat until Curry comes back and saves them from sinking.

Since most of the teams below them have languished the rest of the season, it is highly unlikely that the Dubs will make it out of the play-in tournament. However, a win like this keeps them firmly in the eighth seed, as the Clippers and Blazers look to challenge them for the relative safety provided by the play-in slot.

But perhaps most importantly, wins like this provide a boost to morale and something Green understands he will need moving forward.

“It felt great,” Green said of the understaffed Warriors’ upset win. “Under the circumstances, [ten] Friends, friends, dropping like flies, it’s a good morale booster. You need these throughout the season. And obviously, we’re trying to keep it together until we get Steph back. This is a big victory for us. This is what you can build on. But it feels great.”

Other notables

  • Kristaps Porzingis, who is with the team on this road trip, got a pregame workout. This is an encouraging sign for the centre, who had missed the last six matches due to illness. He remains out indefinitely, but considering that his ability to practice has declined, this is a step in the right direction.
  • Speculation ran rampant about whether the Warriors would sign Curry after the 10-day reevaluation was announced. But Green is confident Curry will be back this season. Green told reporters that Curry didn’t want to call it quits and Curry messaged him, “Keep going, I know it’s hard, but I promise you, I’m coming back.”

Chelsea are unbeaten in the Premier League since Liam Rosenior took charge on January 10. Their only defeats in that period came in the League Cup semi-finals – both against Arsenal.

“This is my best moment here. The Chelsea project is very clear with the young players. The Premier League is very difficult, but we are building maturity, building toughness.”

In another recent interviewThe midfielder admitted that he matured a lot in London. He then used Arsenal as a reference point – with little provocation.

“We have the example of our rivals Arsenal at the weekend. They have been together for six years and have not won the Premier League. So I think we are on the right track, doing our job day by day to win a big title.”

Strategic clarity under Rosenior

Rosenior is the seventh manager of Chelsea since 2020. However, Andre Santos does not consider this as anarchy.

“It was my first coaching change, but with change comes opportunities for players. Some managers change the style of play, but internally we are very focused. We know what we want and where we want to go.”

Crucially, their role has changed. Under Enzo Maresca, he did little more. Rosenior pulled him back to the deep number 5 position.

“Maresca saw me as a bit more advanced. Liam knew me already. He knew my potential and my qualities. I moved further back as a No. 5, and that made a big difference to my performance.”

Data supports the claim. Before Rosenire, he had averaged 42 minutes in 22 matches. Since January 10, he has averaged 78 minutes in 10 games. And beyond strategy, he highlighted the human side of the manager.

“He jokes with me, asks about my family. He followed everything – even when I became a father for the first time. He cares about your mental state. That’s important. He gives that confidence a player needs.”

Midfield battle and Brazil pressure

Chelsea’s midfield consists of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Cole Palmer. Yet Andre Santos insists that competition is healthy.

“The competition in midfield is very tough, but we get along very well. When Liam picks the team, he is sure that whoever plays will perform well. That only benefits Chelsea.”

Even off the field, the conversation is equally intense. With Joao Pedro and Estevano Willian, World Cup dreams dominate the discussion.

“I admit that we talk about the national team a lot. But whenever the topic comes up, our heart beats faster and we start sweating. When you talk about Brazil, it’s a childhood dream, especially when the World Cup is so close.”

He also described helping Estevao adapt.

“We try to make everything natural for him. We know what it’s like to leave Brazil and come to the Premier League – new culture, new language, different weather, different intensity. I look at Estevao like a brother.”

For Chelsea, the project was designed with exactly this purpose: internal development, shared ambition and players maturing together.

By all accounts, Andre Santos now looks less like a possibility and more like a proof of concept.

Warriors’ Will Richard joins rookies Cooper Flagg, Con Knuppel with Wild State vs. Grizzlies

The Golden State Warriors suffered a huge loss in their matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night. To recap, the Warriors were missing Stephen Curry, Kristaps Porzingis and Draymond Green, plus a long-term injury sidelined Jimmy Butler for an extended period of time. Even their leading scorer had to sit out for the second consecutive night in De’Anthony Melton’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.

But the Warriors still got back to winning ways; It was a team effort that led to the Dubs’ 133–112 win on the road. Eight different players scored in double figures for the Warriors, and it was rookie guard Will Richard who finished the night as the team’s leading scorer with 21 points on 9-15 shooting from the field and 2-6 shooting from deep.

Richard finished with five rebounds, six assists and three steals to round out a fine effort to lead the Warriors to the win. In doing so, Richard became the fourth rookie to have at least 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in a single game this season, joining Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel and Jeremiah Fears as the only players to do so, according to WillRichardMuse on X (formerly Twitter).

It has to be said that the absence of some key players for the Dubs gave Richard a chance to fill up the stat sheet. However, he has shown time and again that he can step up when given the opportunity, and that is exactly what he did.

Warriors’ troubles are increasing amid difficult weather

The hits have kept coming for the Warriors; Curry is currently dealing with a knee injury, and the man he got in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga hasn’t been able to play a few games in a row during his ongoing bout with POTS.

The Warriors will need more from their undrafted players these games, and if Richard can maintain this level of play he should earn himself more minutes.

Ja Morant paved quite the way for himself at Murray State, and became the program’s all-time leader in single-season assists (331), single-season points (808), and career assists. In 2018–2019, Morant became the first player in NCAA men’s basketball history to average 20+ points and 10+ assists per game.

After linking up with Nike and releasing his first signature sneakers shortly thereafter, the Nike Ja 3 stands out as Morant’s most unique creation to date. The stunning silhouette is uniquely linked to his electric play on the court and this upcoming “Murray State” colorway serves as a constant reminder of where Morant became a household name.

Nike J3 “Murray State”

Morant released previous “Murray State” versions of his Nike Ja 1 and Ja 2 sneakers over the past two years, all of which were a uniform white/blue/yellow colorway to match the Racers’ school colors. Sporting a “Claw” design throughout the Nike Ja 3, the left shoe will feature alternating scratch marks with a yellow-to-blue gradient, while the right shoe of both shoes will feature a blue-to-yellow gradient for a mismatched look.

Based on the ZoomX outsole, the shoe will feature a White base on the upper, tongue and sockliner. We see Electric Blue/Yellow Nike Swooshes on the lateral side of both shoes, framed by a metallic JA logo on the tongue. Overall, this is definitely the most unique “Murray State” colorway we’ve seen from the signature line yet.

The Nike J3 “Murray State” will release on March 5th, 2025 for a standard retail tag of $125. The shoes will come in full family sizes with adjusted pricing and are expected to be available on Nike SNKRS release day. Usually available in ample stock, be sure to also check your local Nike retailers to see if they are stocking pairs.
