The Los Angeles Lakers continued their late-season streak by defeating the Indiana Pacers 137-130 on Wednesday night behind another stellar performance from Luka Doncic. The Slovenian star finished with 43 points, seven assists and six rebounds, his league-leading 14th 40-point game of the season.

Setting the pace early, Doncic scored 21 points in the first quarter, his eighth instance of a 20-point span this season, approaching Stephen Curry’s 2015–16 record of 11. He reached 11 consecutive 30-point games, equaling the longest streak in the last 20 years.

The 27-year-old has been historically productive during this period, averaging 40.7 points on the Lakers’ six-game road trip, the first player to average 40 over that span since Michael Jordan in 1986-87. He currently leads the NBA in scoring with 33.6 points per game.

Doncic shot 15 of 30 from the field and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line, including five 40-point games in his last 11 outings.

While Smith further states that Bridges is no “scrub”, he believes that the move to acquire Bridges and what New York gave up has put a “handicap” on the Knicks.

They shot over 50 percent overall on the night, and were so unstoppable, making 21 of their 40 three-point attempts that kept the Rockets away for most of the night.

The case of both Knueppel and Edwards is not as far-reaching as it may seem. Knueppel currently leads the league in three-pointers, drilling 222 at the time of this writing. Anthony Edwards ranks 9th in the top 10 for three-pointers made this season, with nearly 185. Edwards and Knueppel are both ahead of Curry, who has made 175 but has played only 39 games due to lingering injuries.

Knueppel’s NBA reputation in his first season was as an instinctive shooter who seems almost automatic from behind the arc. But Edwards wasn’t always a high-volume three-point shooter. In the 2020–2021 season, he shot 32.9% from three. Although he could knock down those shots, it was not his strongest asset. But since his rookie season, he has become one of the best three-point shooters in the league, hitting 39% from range in the 2024-2025 season and attempting 10.3 per game – which was 3.6 more attempts than in the 2023-2024 season.

While it will certainly take a long time to catch Steph Curry, and Curry certainly has more seasons left to attempt to put the three-point record out of reach, it’s certain that Knueppel and Edwards have a shot at the crown.

Brian Windhorst pointed to a strategic approach the Golden State Warriors could use during Stephen Curry’s injury recovery.

Curry has been sidelined since his last game appearance on January 30 and has missed the entire month of February. He has missed 11 consecutive games and is nursing a knee injury, forcing Golden State to be cautious with his recovery.

NBA insider Brian Windhorst provided insight on the team’s situation with its superstar guard on The Hoop Collective show. He explained how the Warriors are looking at their position in the playoff picture and deciding whether it’s best to bring Curry back or shut him down for the remainder of the season.

“You know right away there were people who were thinking, like, they’re considering shutting him down for the season. I don’t think they’re doing that. I think they’re evaluating where they are in the standings and evaluating where Steph is and trying to play their strategy here. But it’s obviously a significant development that Steph is going to be out for a few more weeks,” Windhorst said at the 29:49 mark.

The Warriors remain strong in the playoff picture despite the absence of Stephen Curry, defeating the Houston Rockets 115–113 in overtime.

Six players scored in double figures for Golden State in the win. Brandin Podziemski led the way with a stat line of 26 points and nine rebounds on 10 of 18 shooting from the field, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. De’Anthony Melton finished second with 23 points and six rebounds, Al Horford had 17 points and six rebounds, Gui Santos added 14 points and six assists, while LJ Cryer provided 12 points and three rebounds. Golden State improved to a 32–30 record on the season and finished eighth in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers, while trailing the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors will remain on the road and await their next matchup. They will face the Oklahoma City Thunder as tip-off takes place on March 7 at 8:30 PM ET.

DeMar DeRozan may be in the final stages of his career and he’s playing hard for a bad Sacramento Kings team, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that he’s been playing at a high level for a very long time.

He has been one of the most consistent scorers in NBA history, and on Thursday night, in a battle against the New Orleans Pelicans between the two worst teams in the West, DeRozan passed Stephen Curry for 19th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, according to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee.

DeRozan entered the night with 26,439 points, and in the opening round of the Kings’ clash against the Pelicans, he scored his ninth and 10th points of the night. He needed just eight to tie Curry, but he wasted no time in passing his fellow 2009 draftee on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

This may be on hold for a while, as Curry is currently dealing with a knee injury and there is no specific timeline yet for when he will return.

Meanwhile, DeRozan is as healthy as ever, and even though the Kings are prioritizing the development of their youth for a high draft pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, he will still have plenty of opportunities to put up points in the final month of the 2025-26 season.

But even after a heated exchange, the Pelicans decided to go after Smith again. The NBA chimed in on ESPN analyst Richard Jefferson and Stephen A. Asked Smith to stop trolling. Pelican then posted a video of a man mimicking boxing moves and captioned the video, “Unk trippin’ again.”

The tweet’s caption read, “5 minute monologue from a former NBA player on how to shoot,” Jefferson sarcastically responded to what he said in the post. The feud may be about to stop soon, but it’s clear the Pelicans aren’t ready to give up.

Golden State Warriors forward and podcaster Draymond Green chimed in on the conversation about shutting down Steph Curry for the remainder of the season so the Warriors can tank. On January 30, Curry suffered a right knee injury in a game against the red-hot Detroit Pistons; It did not appear to be serious, and as the All-Star break approached, the Warriors listed him day-to-day.

Following the conversation, Green discussed the possibility of the Warriors making this decision on his eponymous podcast.

“I’ve seen a lot of people say, ‘Hey man, they should just tank and not bring Steph back the rest of the year’ and all this stuff. One thing I will tell you is this: Shutting Steph down for the rest of the year is not something that’s just going to happen, except so he can play. I can also assure you, Joe Lacob is not going to tank. I saw Matt Ishbia say it, tanking is in my DNA. Never will. You get better and if we end up being bad and get a good draft pick, we get a good draft pick, but we’re definitely not going to tank Joe Lacob.”

Of note, senior NBA insider Brett Sigel of ClutchPoints reported that sources indicate Curry will receive around-the-clock treatment to put himself in position to compete in the playoffs. The Warriors are getting a break of sorts, with no games on Tuesday and Wednesday as they prepare for Thursday’s game against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets that will air nationally on Prime Video.

With the Warriors having interesting games against tough teams like the Thunder on Saturday, the Timberwolves on March 13 and the Knicks on March 15, a decision will certainly have to be made regarding Steph’s immediate playing future in order to keep the Warriors at least in the play-in picture.

Stephen A. Smith has never been one to shy away from confrontation, and he recently got into a fight with the New Orleans Pelicans. Following a segment where he was critical of Zion Williamson’s weight, the Pelicans social media team retaliated by reposting a video in which Stephen A. Still, the Pelicans are undaunted, as they posted a response tweet to Smith’s criticism with the caption, “A five-minute monologue from a former NBA player on how to shoot.” The feud will eventually settle down, but Stephen A. is determined to show that he is not to be messed with.

Dunleavy said, “It would be very surprising to me; very, very surprising.” “But I’m not ruling anything out. I’m not a doctor and things can happen a certain way. I don’t want the headline to be, ‘Steph could be done for the year’ because I’m not ruling it out. But just because he’s not playing right now, I just have to accept that yes, definitely, there’s a chance. But we don’t expect it.”

Stephen Curry continues rehab as Warriors monitor timeline of knee injury

Curry last appeared on January 30 in the Warriors’ 131–124 loss to the Detroit Pistons. The 37-year-old finished that game with 23 points, two assists, one rebound and one block in 25 minutes. He shot 7 of 16 from the field, 4 of 10 from 3-point range, and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line.

Despite missing time, Curry remains one of the league’s most productive scorers this season. Through 39 games, he has averaged 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 46.8% from the field, 39.1% from beyond the arc, and 93.1% from the free-throw line. He has logged 31.3 minutes per contest.

The Warriors provided a medical update on Sunday that indicated Curry was continuing to progress.

“The re-evaluation concluded that Curry is making continued progress. He will be re-evaluated in 10 days,” the team said.

Additional reporting suggests the Warriors remain cautious about their franchise cornerstone as the regular season enters its final stretch.

ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel reported Tuesday:

“While the expectation was that Curry would return to the court after the All-Star break, the reality of his situation is that he was still dealing with right knee issues, which led to him taking more rest and the Warriors doing more imaging on his knee, which came back clean. Although he’s been doing little behind the scenes, Steph still has to go through full, comprehensive workouts on the court.”

Curry aims to return before playoffs amid Warriors’ cautious approach
