The Houston Rockets set a new record against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center on Wednesday. However, they would like it to be erased as soon as possible.

The Rockets lost to the Timberwolves 110–108 in overtime, blowing a 13-point lead in extensions. According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, citing ESPN, this was the largest lead in overtime in NBA history.

Julius Randle was the hero for Minnesota, sinking the game-winning jumper with 8.8 seconds remaining. Due to frustration with the officiating, particularly regarding Naz Reed’s ejection in overtime, Randle made an offhand comment following their win.

The Timberwolves improved to 45-28, while the Rockets, who are 2-4 in their last six games, fell to 43-29.

Kevin Durant led Houston with 30 points, three rebounds, eight assists and two steals. He had a chance to steal the win for the Rockets when Randle was fouled on a shot attempt with 3.3 seconds remaining. However, Durant missed the first freebie. He was 23 of 23 from the line before him.

He intentionally missed the second, but Houston never got the chance, allowing the Timberwolves to escape with an improbable victory.

Siegel said, “This is going to be the nail in the coffin for the Rockets this season. What a disaster.”

This is no time for a recession for the Rockets, as they chase homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

They will visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.

Golden State Warriors wing Moses Moody has suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee, as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Moody will not only miss the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season due to this serious injury, but he will now face a lengthy rehabilitation process to resume his career. The Warriors have not yet provided an official diagnosis for Moody’s injury or a timeline for when he will ultimately undergo surgery.

The injury occurred while attempting a wide-open dunk off a steal in the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks late Monday night. While planting and preparing to jump, Moody’s left leg gave out, resulting in his body being thrown into the air and landing hard on the ground.

He immediately grabbed his left knee with a jerk as play continued for several seconds on the opposite side of the court. Medical personnel immediately came out of the court with a stretcher before helping Moody off the floor a few minutes later.

Moody is in the first year of a three-year, $37.5 million extension with the Warriors and was averaging career-highs in points (12.1), rebounds (3.3) and assists (1.6) while shooting a career-best 40.1 percent from 3-point range this season.

PHOENIX – Grayson Allen suffered an unexpected knee injury before the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday.

Throughout the season, Allen struggled with lower body injuries. He was struggling with a right groin injury at the beginning of the year, but now he is struggling with a right knee problem.

His injury may be a microcosm of Phoenix’s health problems. Before Sunday’s game, they will have a total of four players out due to related injuries.

This season, Allen is having a career year averaging 17.5 points and 4.2 assists while shooting 35.5% from 3-point range on over nine 3-pointers per game.

He has been the ideal weapon in head coach Jordan Ott’s system. Not to mention, his growth as a downhill driver has also contributed to a career-best season in assists and scoring.

The team did not specify the severity of the injury, but said it is a legitimate injury and is being managed appropriately. It may be that they are being extra cautious because of the team’s upcoming six-game road trip.

No matter what happens, he’ll want to get back on the court as soon as possible as Phoenix chases a legitimate playoff spot.

The Dallas Mavericks have been playing without their standout rookie star Cooper Flagg for the past seven games. Flagg had earlier suffered a left foot sprain during a match against the Phoenix Suns on February 10.

However, he is now expected to get a chance to play against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday after being listed as ‘doubtful’ on the official injury report. According to a post on X by Mark Stein, the flag’s status has been upgraded to ‘Out’.

In his absence, the Hornets’ Kon Knuppel has undoubtedly stepped up to the plate with his best run of the year. Before his injury, Flagg was averaging 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 48.2% from the field and 30.2% from beyond the arc over the course of 49 games.

He has emerged as one of the few bright spots for Dallas in a season that looks unlikely to reach the playoffs. The Mavericks currently sit in 12th place in the jam-packed Western Conference with a 21-39 record, a far cry from their 50-32 season during the 2023-24 campaign.

They have also suffered other major injuries, with Kyrie Irving and Derek Lively II out for the season while PJ Washington recovers from an ankle problem.

To say that the Chicago Bulls have been struggling lately would be an understatement, as the team is currently on a massive 10-game losing streak. Throughout all this, the Bulls have had to deal with a number of injuries, and the team once again has an injury report ahead of Thursday evening’s contest against the Portland Trail Blazers.

For this game, Jaden Ivey will be out due to left patellofemoral pain syndrome, while Anfernee Simmons will also be sidelined due to a left ulnar styloid fracture. Meanwhile, backup big man Jalen Smith is listed as questionable with a right calf strain, while Patrick Williams is also questionable with a right quadriceps strain.

Zach Collins will be out of the lineup after recent surgery.

The Cleveland Cavaliers got a big win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, 109-94. Unfortunately, it appears that James Harden was a casualty in that win, as he has been confirmed injured.

Harden, who is 36, is said to be suffering from a thumb fracture. The organization announced his injury. He is considered questionable for Wednesday’s contest against the Milwaukee Bucks, and an update on his status will be provided before the start of that game.

“Cavaliers guard James Harden injured his right thumb in last night’s 109-94 win over New York,” the franchise said. “A post-game examination by the Cavaliers’ medical staff, followed by X-rays taken today, confirmed a non-displaced fracture of the distal phalanx. Harden will be treated and continued to be evaluated and will be listed as questionable for tonight’s game against Milwaukee. An update on his status will be provided as appropriate.”

Despite the injury, the 11-time All-Star still played 32 minutes in the Cavaliers’ win over the Knicks. He finished the contest with 20 points, two rebounds and four assists while shooting 44.4% from the field and 57.1% from beyond the three-point line. Despite suffering a thumb injury, he was one of the main contributors in the competition.

Although he is dealing with a fracture, it is a good sign that Harden is still considered questionable to play in Wednesday’s game against the Bucks. His situation suggests that, even if he misses time, it could be a short stint. Either way, the Cavaliers will monitor the injury closely. Especially considering that James Harden was brought in to help make the club more competitive in the playoffs.

The Indiana Pacers have fully embraced their plan for the remainder of the season: developing young guys and losing enough games to retain the lottery pick they hope to have in May. Unfortunately, this means a lot more injury updates for guys like Pascal Siakam.

Indiana currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a record of 15-43, one game behind the Brooklyn Nets, who have a record of 15-41. The only team worse than the Pacers right now is the Sacramento Kings, who have a record of 12-46.

With Tuesday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers scheduled, Pascal Siakam is listed as “questionable” due to a left wrist sprain. This is the first time Siakam has been listed with an injury in recent weeks as his availability alternates between active and inactive for the Pacers.

Siakam missed the first game of the All-Star break due to personal reasons, and was changed for the second game after the break in the management of his left hamstring injury. He played in Sunday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, recording 30 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes of play in a 134–130 Mavs victory.

The Pacers have every incentive to lose as many games as possible over the remainder of this season. The Pacers traded their 2026 first-round draft pick to the LA Clippers with protection if it falls to 1-4 or 10-30. So if the pick falls 5-9, this would be considered the Clippers fully loaded draft and potentially the best one ever when it is all said and done.

This selection was part of the package that Indiana sold to the Clippers for Ivica Zubac. In the deal, the Pacers traded Benedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson and two first-round picks to Los Angeles for All-Defensive center in Zubac.

In 52 games played so far this season, Siakam has averaged 23.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from three. Siakam was named to his fourth NBA All-Star team this season despite the Pacers’ poor record, which highlights how good he is.

Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner will be sidelined indefinitely coming out of the NBA All-Star break after needing additional time and pain to recover from a left ankle sprain, as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The team released a statement on Wednesday, saying Wagner was experiencing soreness in his left ankle and would need additional time to heal after the All-Star break. Wagner will be reevaluated in about three weeks.

The injury first occurred on December 7 against the New York Knicks, and Wagner missed 16 consecutive games. Although he returned to play in his hometown of Berlin on January 15 and again overseas in London, England on January 18, Wagner missed nine consecutive games to deal with his ankle injury.

In his lengthy absence, Anthony Black has emerged as a key weapon in Orlando alongside Paolo Banchero and Desmond Bain.

Wagner, who missed 25 of the Magic’s last 29 games due to an ankle injury, has played in only 28 games this season due to various injuries. This directly resulted in Orlando having a mediocre 28–25 record at the All-Star break.

Since the start of the 2024–25 season, Wagner and Banchero have played just 58 games together. When both players are on the court, the Magic are 29-29 overall.

Wagner isn’t the only player to miss significant time this season for the Magic, as Jalen Suggs has missed a total of 20 games so far on the season due to various injuries. Most recently, Suggs suffered a Grade 1 right MCL injury in the knee, and he missed eight consecutive games.

The good news for Orlando is that Suggs has played in each of the Magic’s last seven games before the All-Star break. Additionally, the Magic are still not fully developed this season and Wagner, Banchero, Suggs and Benn are on the court with each other for consecutive games.

In his 28 games this season, Wagner is averaging 21.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 47.9 percent from the floor.
