Ilya Topuria teases ‘big news’ as UFC return rumors intensify

Ilya Topuria has caused a stir in the MMA world with a social media post indicating that his period of forced inactivity may be coming to an end. On Tuesday, the undefeated UFC lightweight champion shared a cryptic message with his millions of followers on Instagram: “Big news coming soon.”

The post, which features an eye-catching graphic from UFCStar, comes at a key moment for the 155-pound division, as the champion appears ready to reclaim his throne after an eight-month hiatus defined more by court battles than octagon wars.

The “personal matters” that sidelined Topuria following his knockout win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 have finally been resolved. Topuria was embroiled in a controversial legal dispute with his ex-wife Georgina Uzcategui, which involved serious but unfounded allegations. However, after the case was recently dismissed and the settlement signed, Topuria has turned his focus back to his MMA legacy.

His return to the gym was punctuated by a previous post declaring, “The champion is back!!!”, a sentiment that has now evolved into the promise of a concrete announcement. The “big news” could take many forms, but all signs point to the UFC’s historic event on June 14.

Topuria has long expressed a desire to compete on the “White House” card, a fitting platform for a man who considers himself the pound-for-pound king. While a unification bout against interim champion Justin Gaethje is the most logical option, Topuria has publicly flirted with an even more ambitious goal: a jump to 170 pounds to challenge Islam Makhachev.

“Maybe I’ll have another fight, and then there’ll be a date in the summer when [the UFC] Topuria recently suggested, “Let me move up to welterweight. Or maybe they’ll create a new belt called the ‘pound-for-pound title’ at catchweight and I’ll fight for it.” [it]”

Fueling the superfight rumors is Makhachev’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. In a recent post on

If Topuria and Makhachev are indeed being paired for a cross-divisional clash, it would mark a major change in the UFC’s 2026 strategy, potentially blurring the traditional lightweight title picture in which Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira currently await.

Wolves player tells how he teases Aston Villa star – harassing him during matches

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has revealed how he irritates Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana when they meet on the pitch.

Het Belang van Limburg has the Wolves striker’s comments today. He is busy celebrating after he and his team beat Aston Villa 2-0 at the weekend. Despite his dislike for the weather.

Arokodare was on the bench for the game but came on as a substitute in the second half. This gave him another opportunity to come up against Onana.

wolves through begium

The Wolves striker has a strong connection with Belgium having played for years in the country. This has seen him maintain links with some of the Belgian squad currently at Villa Park.

Onana is chief among them, and Arokodare admits that he cannot help teasing him when they meet on the pitch.

“Andre! (Amadou Onana) I always call him that, jokingly.” He said.

“After the Man United goalkeeper. We have a good relationship. During the first leg, we clashed, a real clash, fortunately, we did not suffer any consequences.”

belgium hopes

Although there has been light tinkering on the pitch, Arokodare is still wishing Belgium all the best for the World Cup this summer.

He spent two years and seven months playing for the country from January 2023 to September 2025. The 2024/25 season was his most successful to date, scoring 21 league goals to win the Golden Boot. He also won the Ebony Shoe as the country’s best African player.

That, clearly, is a time he remembers fondly and as a result he is hoping for success for the Aston Villa midfielder. This is despite their ongoing rivalry.

“My years at KRC Genk have given me a bit of Belgian blood, so I hope they will do well,” He added.

“I also have a lot of friends at the Red Devils: Zeno (Debast), Maarten (Vandevoort), Openda, Onana… Hopefully, Brian (Henen) and Mats (Smets) will also make the World Cup squad.”

Doc Rivers teases Giannis’ impending injury return in bizarre way

Giannis Antetokounmpo is working his way back onto the court for the Milwaukee Bucks after suffering a calf strain injury last month and it looks like he’s making real progress. It is still uncertain when he will return to the court, but head coach Doc Rivers noted that he has been playing 4-on-4, which he thinks is a good sign.

Rivers was recently asked about Antetokounmpo’s return, as some clarification was needed on whether he could return, even though he didn’t specifically need to play 5-on-5 to be cleared.

“Guys, it’s not a rocket science thing. Like, we do 3-on-3, 4-on-4, sometimes we do 5-on-5, sometimes we don’t. And it doesn’t really matter,” Rivers said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

Rivers was then asked what Antetokounmpo needed to do to get cleared, and he gave a very strange answer.

“To be honest, I have no idea. Maybe I should ask and I can give you information, but I know he’s close. I don’t think he’s as close as yesterday, but he’s getting close and he looks great. And that’s all I know. I can tell you what my eyes see and he looks good,” Rivers said.

It almost feels as if Rivers is keeping it a secret as to how close Antetokounmpo may be to a return, but even he doesn’t really know and is leaving it up to the training staff.

The good news is that Antetokounmpo is making progress, and they are able to win games without him. The goal is for the Bucks to try to climb up the standings so they can possibly get into the play-ins, but they either have to play for about two months, or face losses to the teams above them.

Ultimately, they can focus on what they can do, while also hoping that they get their star player back as soon as possible.

Ja Morant teases insane new ‘Ja Rafe’ Nike Ja 3 sneakers

As one of the most prolific players in the NBA, it’s only fitting that Memphis Grizzlies franchise star Ja Morant has a shoe to match his explosive play. Their most recent signature sneaker, the Nike Jaa 3, is easily the most unique one in their collection and offers one of the most spectacular colorways we’ve seen in the last year. Recently, Morant shared a glimpse of the upcoming “Ja Ruff” colorway that die-hard fans are much more familiar with.

Check out our sneakers news for more upcoming releases and breaking content!

Upon being recruited by the Grizzlies and adopting Memphis as his new home, the city showed its love for Morant by inviting him to the Memphis Zoo in 2020. They even went the extra mile to name one of their newborn giraffes after the baby sensation – Ja Raf.

Once his signature sneaker launches in 2023, it was only fitting that Ja Morant used a giraffe-inspired colorway in his Nike Ja 1 sneakers. A year later, Morant teased a follow-up Nike Ja 2 “Ja Ruff” sneaker and eventually wore the sneakers in-game for the Grizzlies. Following this lead, Morant recently shared a “leak” of the Nike Ja 3 “Ja Rafe” colorway.

Nike Ja 3 “Ja Rafe” Leaked by Ja Morant

The Wild pair returns in another brown/tan/pink theme that resembles the look of Morant’s friend. Typically featuring paw prints throughout the upper, this Nike Ja 3 will feature brown giraffe spots on the mesh panels. The Nike Zoom outsole will feature alternating toe prints in brown and gray with a pronounced tan “A” towards the heel. The final detail features a pink Nike Swoosh with the writing “JA” across the upper, a humorous nod to Ja Raffe’s pink tongue.

Previous “Ja Ruff” colorways have not released to the public and while the Nike Ja 3 is being reworked and released at a faster pace, don’t be surprised if Ja Morant keeps this collection special for himself and his giraffe “son.”
