Barring a trade, the Tennessee Titans are less than 48 hours away from deciding which prospect they will select with the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Most expect the Titans to go with either a running back, pass-rusher or linebacker.

When Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi initially spoke on Tennessee’s plans with the fourth overall selection, he said they would go with the best player available. Many came away from this with the belief that the Titans would be targeting Notre Dame star Jeremiah Love (if he is available), as he is the top-ranked prospect on many evaluators’ draft boards.

Yet, this may not be the case at all.

Recently, NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essential Sports revealed his information that Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey is the “game-changer new head coach Robert Saleh is coveting.”

“I mentioned from the Senior Bowl that edge rusher David Bailey fits into the Titans’ defense like a duck to water, and I’m told he’s the game-changer new head coach Robert Saleh covets. Bailey leads the FBS with 14.5 sacks and a 21.3% pressure rate heading into the 2025 season. Yet it’s unlikely the Texas Tech product will fall into the Titans’ lap.”

This is fine, but there may be a problem. What if Bailey is the pass-rusher the Jets want at No. 2, too? There is talk that New York is down to either Arvel Reese or Bailey, and that could put a wrench in the Titans’ plans. Heck, the Cardinals at No. 3 could even decide they want one of this year’s elite pass-rushing prospects and take whoever the Jets don’t.

In other words, based on Pauline’s reporting, it doesn’t look like Jeremiah Love is Tennessee’s top prospect, but this is also smokescreen season, so you never really know.

Going back to the comparison made to Wolff by someone inside the league, it is a bit flawed. Henry is a future Hall of Famer and has proven himself worthy of being a first-round selection, but Tennessee took him in Round 2 with the 45th overall selection.

This is a lot different than using the fourth overall pick on a running back, especially when both the Titans defense have glaring holes at multiple spots and the offensive line isn’t even league-average entering 2026.

It’s also worth noting that Tennessee’s running back committee already includes Tony Pollard, Tyjay Spears and Michael Carter. All the while, this team doesn’t have a true No. 1 wide receiver to back up Cam Ward.

With all that said, discussion around the league continues to suggest that there is a very good chance the Titans select Love with the fourth overall pick. This is a selection that will get a lot of criticism due to the running back’s positional value and other team needs, but Love is certainly one of the few players in this class who can be a difference-maker for an offense.

Hooker spent the first two years of his career with the Lions, but was surprisingly released before the start of his third season. Third-round picks rarely make the cut after just two seasons, but clearly Lions general manager Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell had seen enough.

Hooker has appeared in only three games, completing 6 of 9 passes for 62 yards. Now, the former Tennessee Volunteers QB gets a chance to move forward as a member of the Titans. The Titans also have free agent signees Mitchell Trubisky and Will Lewis as backups to Ward. Unless Lewis is traded, it will be difficult for Hooker to make a roster spot at Tennessee, but it’s better than not having a spot on an active NFL roster.

The Titans’ 30th-ranked offense could be getting a big boost. Still, with the Titans having over $90 million in cap space, they have plenty of money to spend.

According to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones, the Titans have their sights set on upcoming free agent receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. The 25-year-old is coming off a career year with the New York Giants, where he recorded 92 receptions for 1,014 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Now he is looking to make money and the Titans may be ready to give him a blow.

“Tennessee’s lack of interest in (Mike) Evans may be because the Titans have their eyes on Giants wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. Sources say Nashville could be a landing spot for Robinson, and for obvious reasons. The Titans have more than $90 million in cap space and a huge need at receiver. The move to Tennessee would reunite them with their former head coach Brian Daboll. Robinson, now the offensive coordinator with the Titans, is a Kentucky native who played high school football three hours up I-65 from Music City.
