Igor Tudor is in London to move to Tottenham Hotspur to replace Thomas Frank as manager.

This is according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian newspaper has today covered the Croatian manager and his surprise move to Tottenham.

Multiple reports from England and Italy yesterday put Tudor at the top of Tottenham’s wish list to replace Frank in the top job. Tottenham sacked the Danish coach on Wednesday after a poor six months in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs are deeply concerned about demotion and have turned to Tudor for firepower and a push to push them to safety. Sport Witness covered his developing move for him extensively yesterday.

At first, reports explained that he had Spurs reached the top of the listbefore the clubs oral agreement reached.

Well that’s for sure, according to Gazeta anyway. The Italian newspaper reports that Turdo has flown from Split to London to finalize his deal. He is currently in the capital with Tottenham and it is a case of ‘we’ll see later’.

According to his information, Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham specifically chose him. He also considered former Leipzig boss Marco Rose and former Dortmund boss Edin Terzic.

But he has decided on Tudor because he is ‘the right person for an emergency’. Or, at least, ‘one for mid-season’. The 47-year-old has rarely finished, or started, a season on the same bench since the beginning of his managerial career.

The call came after Tottenham sounded the relegation alarm yesterday. They are currently 16 years old^thFive points from safety and have not won in the Premier League since the end of December.

The people in charge were really afraid of demotion and wanted a manager who could make an immediate impact and fight hard. It will start on Monday when training resumes.

Tudor has extensive experience in fighting battles. He saved Udinese four games in 2018, then repeated the trick from March a year later. He shone in Verona before moving to Marseille.

Then there was a three-month stint at Lazio before moving to Juventus for seven months.

He has made 11 appearances in 12 years and will be making his sixth separate European Championship appearance at Tottenham.

The contract runs until June, but if he can provide the necessary incentives, he could be a candidate for a permanent deal.
