Club set to make Tottenham’s man top earner and captain – one hurdle left

tottenham Joao Palinha may be out of the running. However, this does not mean that the saga is close to ending.

The Portugal international spent the season on loan at Spurs and played a big role in the club’s Premier League survival. However, report from portugal It was suggested at the weekend that Tottenham would not activate their €30m (£25.8m) option to purchase him from Bayern Munich.

For weeks discussion focused on whether Tottenham would keep Palhinha and whether the midfielder would push for a return to Sporting.

Now it seems that the answer to the first question has been found. But the second has hardly changed.

Recent reports have consistently indicated that Pelhinha wants to return to Lisbon. Plus, Sporting are acting like they 100% expect him to come… The only problem is Bayern Munich.

Sporting already has big plans

according to morning mailSporting are prepared to go much further than simply giving Palhinha a way home.

The newspaper claims the club are prepared to make him the highest-paid player in the squad if they can secure a deal.

Sporting are also reportedly willing to hand him the captain’s armband, with Morten Hjulmand expected to leave this summer. And that tells you everything about how Palahinha is viewed internally.

It appears that the club is preparing a central role for him in the next sporting project.

However, the issue of pay remains complex. As explained in detail earlierPalhinha currently earns around €9m (£7.6m) per year, which is far more than Sporting’s normal salary structure.

Nevertheless, multiple Portuguese reports state that the midfielder is willing to make a significant sacrifice to return. Correiro da Manha now suggests Sporting are ready to push their limits financially too.

Bayern is now the main obstacle

game Draw an absolutely identical picture. The newspaper described Palhinha as Sporting’s last wish. He will complete their midfield rebuild following the moves of Issa Doumbia, Pedro Lima and Silas Anderson.

The expectation is that the former Tottenham loanee will arrive as Hjulmand’s successor and slot straight into Rui Borges’ starting eleven. The problem is that Bayern still holds all the cards.

The German club paid around €50m (£43m) to sign Pelhinha from Fulham in 2024 and are unlikely to say goodbye without recouping as much value as possible.

Sporting’s preferred solution remains a loan with the option – or obligation – to buy. The hard part now is to find a formula that works for Bayern.

Either way, as things stand, the Tottenham chapter looks to be coming to a close. Now the entire discussion is about whether Bayern can be persuaded to play along.

Manchester United could still snatch the signing from Tottenham’s clutches in big claims

Manchester United could still snatch the contract from Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi Tottenham Hotspur.

Report by journalist Cesar Luis Merlo Manchester United are still in the mix for the 29-year-old this summer.

Bournemouth exit confirmed

Marcos Senesi confirmed today that he intends to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season when his contract expires.

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved over the last four years and I’m grateful for the support the fans have given me,” he told the club’s official channels.

The question is where he goes next. According to Merlo, the Argentinian centre-back has plenty of suitors in the Premier League.

According to the journalist, Tottenham, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all ‘vying’ for his signature. Which, if any, of them the keeper chooses remains to be seen.

Over the past few weeks, Tottenham have looked to be at the forefront. Sport Witness has covered several reports stating that. Actually the last of them made it clear That was their offer, and it was the best one currently on the table.

Manchester United’s interest

But Manchester United has always been on the field. A report from last month He continued to insist that they were one of the clubs pursuing the Bournemouth defender this summer.

And if Merlo is to be believed, he remains in the picture at this point. In fact they have ‘competed’ for the centre-back position with Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. This shows that Senesi has not yet taken any definite decision regarding his future.

Italy is also interested in considering this. Various reports in Italy have named Juventus and Napoli as suitors due to his free-agent status. Since summer isn’t here yet, they can still make their own moves.

Either way, Marcos Sensei has a decision to make. He clearly has offers, including from the Premier League. Now the question is whom does he accept?

‘Hands off’ – Fabio Paratici is working to stop Tottenham’s transfer

Tottenham transfer target Nicolo Fagioli
Tottenham transfer target Nicolo Fagioli

Nicolo Fagioli has been a shining light in a dark season for Fiorentina tottenham Interest in the midfielder has now emerged.

The first few months of the season were not good for Fiorentina. They found themselves in the bottom three and struggled to find any momentum.

That’s when Fagioli played a big role in pulling them up the table by maintaining his presence in deep midfield. In recent weeks, he has impressed even more and at the weekend against Sassuolo he was the best player on the pitch.

sports witness It previously covered English interest in the former Juventus player, who was controversially left out of the Italian national team last month.

This has not stopped his reputation from growing further. Tottenham are looming as a threat for a player whose future is under constant discussion.

suitors warned

corriere dello sport Note that Fagioli has been exceptional for Paolo Vanoli’s side over the last three months. He makes it clear that his talent was always on the cards, even at Juve, who loaned him to Fiorentina in January 2025 before a permanent sale last summer.

This is beneficial for La Viola, who have seen the Italian become one of the most sought-after midfielders in Serie A.

Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are also interested. Max Allegri managed him in Turin and appears keen on a reunion.

But the report issues a ‘hands-off’ warning to clubs. Fabio Paratici is a big fan of Fagioli and wants to start an ambitious project from next season.

That’s why Fagioli will be central to the Fiorentina squad, which will undergo other changes in the summer.

We believe: Tottenham will have a chance

The report is good for publicizing Fiorentina’s ambitions. However, this seems to be another attempt to paint Paratici’s views in a brighter light, as the club needs little else to remain in Serie A.

As a result, Tottenham should keep an eye on the 25-year-old. He is a complete midfielder who is capable of playing in a variety of roles. That’s why Luciano Spalletti, during his tenure as Italy manager, called them up for the European Championships in 2024.

From Argentina: Update on Tottenham’s Cristian Romero knee injury

Tottenham Hotspur defender Christian Romero
Tottenham Hotspur defender Christian Romero

tottenham hotspur The season is already slipping into a battle for survival, and the situation could now take another damaging turn with the injury to Cristian Romero.

Spurs sit in the relegation zone and are struggling for momentum. The defeat to Sunderland added to that pressure. More importantly, it may cost them their defensive leader at a crucial stage of the campaign.

Romero has been playing a central role for Tottenham both on and off the pitch. He wears the armband and remains one of the few players to perform consistently in a difficult season. Losing him now will leave a huge gap in a team already lacking confidence and stability.

The immediate concerns became apparent during the match. The Argentine defender was pushed by Sunderland striker Brian Brobby and collided with his own goalkeeper Antonin Kinski after trying to save the ball under pressure.

He tried to continue but soon gave the signal to come out. What happened next caused even more concern – Romero left the pitch in visible pain and tears.

Injury anxiety increases after emotional drain

At the time, reporting in Argentina reflected real uncertainty. Ligament problems in the knee were suspected, with tests needed to determine the severity. As we covered earlierHis pain persists.

Now, a clearer timeline is beginning to emerge from Argentina following his MRI scan this morning, as previously revealed hail.

Journalist martin arevalo Cristian Romero is expected to be out between five and eight weeks with a knee injury, the report said. Another local journalist, Fernando CzyzClaims it is a Grade 1 injury to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Although this is still subject to official confirmation from Tottenham, it gives a stronger indication of the scale of the problem.

For the Spurs, even the lower end of that estimate would be damaging. The run-in is already under pressure, and Romero’s absence will remove leadership, aggression and defensive organization from the team.

What does this mean for Tottenham

Cristian Romero has been one of Tottenham’s most reliable defenders this season, even while Highly associated with summer exit. Without him, Tottenham are likely to turn to less experienced or less consistent options. This could further highlight a defense that has already struggled throughout the campaign.

Of course there’s also a broader context to consider. Romero’s reaction as he left the pitch was not just about the injury. This came when Tottenham were behind in the match and were in poor form. The emotional significance of that moment was clear.

From Argentina’s perspective, the update has been framed more positively, with hopes that one of their key players will recover in time for the World Cup. But for Tottenham, the focus is immediate.

They want results now. And they may have to contend with being without their captain and defensive backbone for a significant portion of the season.

what happens next

Tottenham have not yet provided a full medical update. This will be important in confirming the timeline and whether the five to eight week estimate is accurate.

In the meantime, the club will have to prepare for a period without Romero. Squad depth, defensive structure and leadership will all be tested.

At a stage of the season where every point counts, losing a player of their profile could shape Tottenham’s fortunes.

Tottenham’s failed approach for manager explained – new claims thrown into doubt

Abel Ferreira
Abel Ferreira

TeaThe managerial situation at Ottenham Hotspur is soon back in uncertainty. Igor Tudor’s tenure only lasted a few days, and Spurs are looking for direction again while trying to avoid relegation trouble.

The urgency surrounding the club has led to extensive scrutiny of potential managers. Names have come forward from across Europe and beyond. Among them, Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira has been pushed back into talks.

However, reports from Brazil now offer two completely different versions of events.

Conflicting views from Brazil

Latest claims of journalist this week diego firmino There are suggestions that Tottenham have renewed their interest in Abel Ferreira following Tudor’s exit.

The report adds that Spurs have launched a new investigation to understand the coach’s current situation, although no formal proposal has been submitted.

That version paints a picture of an active search.

espn brazilHowever, provide important context that changes the story significantly.

According to his information, Tottenham have no longer had contact with Abel Ferreira. This took place in February, before Tudor’s appointment. In that state, As we covered at the timeSpurs were already looking for emergency options as pressure loomed around their season.

This proposal was short-lived. Tottenham wanted to know whether Abel would be willing to take charge until the end of the European season, effectively a contract of around four months.

Abel’s representatives rejected the idea outright. Negotiations never started, financial terms were never discussed and the approach never even reached Palmeiras. Importantly, ESPN says there have been no new contacts since then.

The context behind the rejection

When we look at Abel Ferreira’s current situation, his stance becomes clear.

He is under contract at Palmeiras until December 2027 and remains the centerpiece of a stable, long-term project. Brazilian clubs continue to compete at the top level domestically and in South America, offering conditions that are difficult to match in a short-term European role.

Their salary is another factor. Abel earns around €650,000 (£560,000) per month, placing him among the highest-paid managers outside Europe’s elite. That level of income reduces the appeal of temporary opportunities abroad.

More importantly, their career decisions are not driven solely by finances. Abel emphasizes structure, planning, and organizational stability. Tottenham, in their current state, do not provide that environment.

A four-month contract, in the midst of a demotion battle, offers little alignment with his priorities.

What’s next for Tottenham?

Tottenham are now expected to move in a different direction. Roberto De Zerbi is widely seen as the leading option as Spurs consider a long-term appointment.

Against that backdrop, Abel Ferreira’s renewed links appear to stem from recycled information rather than fresh developments. A report suggests a new investigation. Another explained that the only contact came earlier in the season and was immediately rejected.

He discovered Abel Ferreira as a possible solution. He was rejected without hesitation. Since then, there has been no clear indication that they have returned with any new approach.

As Spurs look to stabilize both on and off the pitch, their next move is likely to reflect that reality rather than looking at the door firmly closed again.

Player loss due to Tottenham’s decline – World Cup place now under real pressure

richardson tottenham

The impact of Tottenham Hotspur’s difficult season is now beginning to extend beyond north London, with Richarlison’s status for Brazil becoming a topic of discussion ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The striker has long been a reliable option for Carlo Ancelotti. Their relationship dates back to their time together at Everton, when the Italian became increasingly dependent on Richarlison as a key attacking figure.

This relationship carried over to the Brazil setup, where the Tottenham forward continued to receive opportunities even during an inconsistent period at club level.

Richarlison featured in Ancelotti’s first four call-ups. Despite not scoring he appeared in six matches, including two starts.

Even as his minutes fluctuated at Tottenham, the Brazilian coach continued to value his profile – physical presence, aerial ability and work rate – as something different within the team.

Tottenham struggling to lose weight

Tottenham’s season has been nothing short of turbulent. The club is suffering a poor run of results, struggling for consistency and getting uncomfortably close to the relegation zone.

The situation in Europe has not been very good. Spurs suffered a heavy 5–2 defeat to Atlético Madrid, effectively ending their Champions League hopes despite the formalities of the second leg still pending.

In that environment, Richardson is trying to rebuild momentum after another injury setback. The Brazilian missed several weeks between January and February due to a thigh problem.

Since returning under Igor Tudor, he has appeared in five matches. During that spell, he scored twice – including a decisive goal against Liverpool – and also added an assist. Although he has not changed Tottenham’s collective form, He has at least shown signs of personal acuity.

There is also increasing clarity regarding the future of his club. As we recently coveredTottenham and Richarlison have already agreed that he will leave at the end of the season.

The decision is said to have been taken after internal talks, with both sides considering June 2026 as the right time to move forward. There is no pressure involved, but rather a shared understanding about what will happen next in their careers.

Tottenham have also scheduled an assessment ahead of the summer window. The club are expected to demand around £21.5m (€25m) for the striker, with this figure likely to guide negotiations.

Ancelotti and Richardson: trust built over time

carlo ancelotti

Richarlison’s importance to Brazil is not based on numbers alone. He was the team’s key striker at the 2022 World Cup, scoring three goals and establishing himself as a reference point in attack.

Since then, despite injuries and irregular club form, he has largely maintained Ancelotti’s support. The Italian has often shown a willingness to prioritize familiarity and tactical fit over pure club performance, particularly in transitional periods.

This context helps explain why their absence from the list of Brazil’s final international friendlies before the 2026 World Cup has been highlighted this week.

Brazil’s decision confirmed

As highlighted in this news bolavip In Brazil, for the first time under Ancelotti, Richarlison has been left out of the squad despite being fit and available.

The report suggests that his absence says more about the current situation at Tottenham than the player himself. With Spurs struggling badly, it appears the wider context has influenced the decision.

This marks a clear change. Prior to this, Richarlison had remained a part of the team even without strong club momentum. Now, with competition for the No. 9 role increasing and the World Cup approaching, the margin for error has become less.

what happens next

Richardson is now entering the decisive phase. With the World Cup around the corner, every performance takes on extra importance.

Tottenham’s clash may complicate his case, but the Brazilian is at least beginning to show signs of life after returning from injury. If he continues to contribute goals and assists, he may yet be forced back into Ancelotti’s plans.

However, for the first time, there is a clear indication that trust in the past alone may no longer be enough.

“Not as quickly as we’d like” – Tottenham’s injury news continues as negative news continues

Dejan Kulusevski
Guimarães, Portugal – 03 21 2024: Dejan Kulusevski during the friendly game between the national teams of Portugal and Sweden, Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques, Guimarães, Portugal. (Macys Rogowski)

Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski has not played for the Premier League team this season due to a long-term injury.

He suffered a knee injury in May 2025, causing him to miss Spurs’ Europa League final victory over Manchester United.

Due to injury, the Tottenham player will miss Sweden’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine later this month. Sweden manager Graham Potter has left him out of the squad for the upcoming international break, having thought he would be available much sooner.

The 25-year-old last made an appearance for the north London club in a 2-0 league defeat to Crystal Palace on May 11 last year. He suffered an injury and was replaced by Mickey Moore in the 19th minute.

Timeline of the Tottenham star’s recovery process

Three days after the injury, Spurs confirmed that he had undergone successful surgery. Later that day, Anze Postecoglou, who was in charge of the club at the time, said that he would be out for “at least a few months”.

In August, reports stated that he would not return until the end of that year. On September 9, Kulusevski got His “rehabilitation is going well” and he predicted a return to the field in the “very, very near future”.

  • On 1 October, John Dahl Tomasson, who was the national team manager at the time, Spurs attacker explained He is in “a different phase of his rehabilitation”. Later that month, Sweden dismissed him and appointed Potter as his successor.
  • Former Chelsea on 20 November the manager pointed out Kulusevski could return “around the New Year.”
  • A month later, Potter was confident His players returned for the March international break, but optimism vanished in February. the coach accepted “It will be tough to get back in March.”

Earlier today, Potter announced his squad for the upcoming international break. After this he spoke to the media and soccer channel Has released his comments.

As well as the 25-year-old, Liverpool striker Alexander Isak is also a big miss for Sweden.

On the absence of both, he said: “Alexander Isak has made a lot of progress and is on the field. But the games are coming very quickly. Dejan is progressing but not as fast as we would like.”

What happened since Kulusevski played for Spurs?

Dejan Kulusevski

There have been many developments at both the English club and national team since Dejan Kulusevski last arrived.

On May 21, 2025, Tottenham defeated Manchester United 1–0 to win the Europa League and secure a place in the Champions League. On 6 June, Tottenham parted ways with Anze Postecoglou, the manager who had helped them win the trophy.

Thomas Frank’s appointment was confirmed a few days later. In September of that year, Daniel Levy resigned as club president. A month later, Fabio Paratici returned, leaving him for Fiorentina in February.

Frank was dismissed on 11 February and Spurs appointed Igor Tudor until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Sweden struggled in World Cup qualifiers and were dismissed [first time in their history] Tomasson. The national team appointed Potter in his place.

To recap, Kulusevski has yet to play under Tudor and Potter at Tottenham and Sweden respectively.

Danish reaction to Tottenham’s relegation to bottom – worrying Spurs release

It’s fair to say the Dane is keeping a close eye on Tottenham Hotspur following the departure of Thomas Frank in January.

The nation was thrilled when Frank was given the ‘big job’ last summer following his success at Brentford. They were certainly supportive of him and, often, one of his biggest champions.

Well, now that he’s been fired, he’s keeping an even closer eye on proceedings. And Francis Dickoh has spotted something that should leave Spurs fans very concerned. TipsBladet released its comments today.

He, like most of us, was watching the clash between Tottenham and Crystal Palace on Thursday evening. Igor Tudor’s team went into that game knowing that defeat could be devastating.

Crystal Palace disaster

And this proved to be true, as a 3–1 defeat and the departure of Micky van de Ven pushed them to the brink. Spurs are now one point outside the relegation zone, without a win in 11 and with no signs of improvement under Tudor.

What’s even more worrying is that people around them are picking points. West Ham won to close the gap this week, while Nottingham Forest picked up an unexpected point against Manchester City.

With five defeats in their last five, Spurs are unlikely to get similar results any time soon. Palace’s defeat certainly did not send any positive signals. And Dicko believes this is what should concern them most.

“The defeat to Crystal Palace was a low point for Tottenham,” He said.

“The team collapsed, and this is worrying when the club has already made changes to the coaching staff. One might fear that Tottenham have not yet reached rock bottom, with the threat of relegation looming.

“The clubs around Tottenham are looking confident. And in the game, it’s looking like other teams are dying with their boots on and are competitive. Tottenham are in a different place right now.”

tottenham needs to fight

The statistics certainly don’t look great for Tottenham. While they are bottom of the form table, West Ham have lost only one of their last five. Forest have two draws and three defeats from five.

However, his future will likely be determined by Tottenham’s clash with Nottingham Forest later this month. After this they will also face Leeds, who are two points ahead of 15.thIn early May.

Considering his current form, this could prove to be a big decider. Of course, they are still in a fight at that time. Tudor must help them find that fight first.

‘Everything has been sorted’ – Tottenham’s confidence deal to sign player is almost done

Last weekend, sports witness Covered the latest on Juventus’ continued interest in Tottenham’s Randal Kolo Muani.

The Old Lady tried to sign the striker in January. Any deal at that point always seemed complicated and never came close to completion. That hasn’t stopped Juve from potentially keeping an eye on bringing the Frenchman back to Turin.

The striker has had his share of problems at Tottenham but has a goal under his belt under Igor Tudor. He impressed under the Croatian at Juve last season and this could prove vital for the rest of the current campaign.

Meanwhile, Juve are hopeful of re-signing him from Paris Saint-Germain.

Deal worth less than €50m

tuttosport Report that even though Juve want to keep Dusan Vlahovic, they would like another striker. The Tottenham player is seen as the perfect replacement, with the belief that he can work well with the Serbian.

Relocation is also considered economically attractive. This is because they feel Kolo Muani would cost just under €50m and is therefore affordable.

Tuttosport – a Turin newspaper – reports that ‘everything has been sorted’ over a summer deal with PSG. This will be crucial and Kolo Muani’s experience from last season is also weighing heavily in their favour.

Lois Openda, signed last summer, is expected to depart. This will give the current Tottenham player a chance to play regularly.

possibility of over-optimism

Tuttosport is no stranger to being over-optimistic about Juve. In fact, he was confident that Kolo Muani would join in the summer and then again in January.

This is another example of that. Juve and PSG were involved in a heated exchange of words last summer after the Italian side failed to sign the French player. The blame game continued for weeks, which is likely to affect relations between the clubs.

Given how PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi operates, the rift could very well continue. Juventus may believe everything is in its place, but it is PSG who takes the decisions.

Tottenham’s interest in defender depends on Tudor – Nottingham Forest also in the mix

Federico Gatti
Federico Gatti

earlier this month, sports witness Nottingham Forest’s interest in Juventus’ Federico Gatti has been covered. At the time, West Ham were also mentioned as suitors and Tottenham could also be in the running for the Italian.

Gatti returned to action for Juve a few weeks later after a long-term injury. Since then, he has started once in Serie A. Due to Bremner’s injury problems, he also started both matches against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Despite his regular usage, Gatti’s future at the Bianconeri remains uncertain.

Today, tuttosport Make it clear that Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are possible destinations.

Gaiety to tottenham rely on tudor

The Turin newspaper reports that the 27-year-old is really struggling at the Old Lady. As a result, he is one of the candidates to depart in the summer.

AS Roma and AC Milan are interested. In addition, Premier League teams also like the ex-Frosinone player.

If Igor Tudor remains beyond the season then Tottenham’s interest in him could increase. Currently, Spurs have only handed the Croatian a short-term deal, but they used Gatti regularly during his time at Juventus.

There is also mention of Nottingham Forest’s interest. The move from Vitor Pereira’s side will depend on whether they avoid demotion. That alone would make the Midlands club a good option for the defender.

Gatti has clear boundaries

While Gatti has become a regular first team player for Juve, his weaknesses are evident.

The Italy international is a pure defender and usually struggles to be expressive on the ball. This makes him more suitable for counter-attacking setups, where he can utilize his ground defense and aerial capabilities.

Tottenham and Nottingham Forest will need to take this into account. His current contract in Turin expires in the summer of 2030, which could complicate a move. This is why both clubs could find better options in the market than the 27-year-old.

“A top-class team” – Atletico Madrid chief ignoring Tottenham’s Premier League form

Atletico Madrid director of professional football Matteo Alemany has insisted that Tottenham will remain a “top-class team” despite their Premier League struggles.

Mundo Deportivo covered Alemany’s comments today following the Champions League draw which pitted the two sides against each other.

Tottenham travel to Wanda Metropolitano on March 10th For the first leg of their last 16 double header. They will then host Atlético in the second leg a week later.

It is unclear how much they will focus on the game at that time. For now, their focus is on Premier League survival.

Tottenham impress in Europe

They currently sit 16th In the table, only four points out of the relegation zone. They are yet to win a single in the Premier League in 2026 and have picked up just two points from their last 15. Their last win in the league came on 15 Decemberth.

However, interestingly, they have made an impact in Europe. They finished the league stage in great form, scoring 4 pointsth Placed in the overall table to qualify directly for the last 16. This made them the fourth highest seed behind only Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

Their only defeat in the competition this season came at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in November. And the Alemany are focused on that form rather than what’s happening in the Premier League.

“Any opponent would have been extremely difficult,” he said.

“You have to look at their European record, which has been fantastic. A top-class team, a Premier League favourite, whatever the draw, it was going to be tough. The important thing is that we focus on our performances.”

atlético calendar

His own team faces a tough calendar with a Champions League clash with Tottenham after taking on Barcelona in the Copa del Rey a week ago.

There are also La Liga commitments, making life more difficult as they face ‘abridged’ Tuesday-Tuesday fixtures. However, Alemany is not worried.

“We know we are in the highest level of competition, facing the highest level of opponents and difficulty,” he said.

“It depends on the opponent, on their ability to rotate their team in the domestic league. Whatever happens, we can’t change it; we will accept it and adapt.”

“A good jump” – indirect criticism of Heitinga after Tottenham’s exit

John Heitinga is being questioned in the Netherlands following his early departure from Tottenham Hotspur.

ajax1 Comments from cover journalist Tom Knipping at Voetbal International today. He is less impressed by the dramatic year since Heitinga’s dismissal.

Heitinga left Tottenham in the middle of the month after spending more than 30 days as assistant manager to Thomas Frank at the club. His exit followed Frank’s dismissal, despite Igor Tudor reportedly asking him to stay.

Instead the Dutchman decided to leave his post. He reportedly came after her There was belief that Spurs would offer him the interim position. Instead he decided to sign for Tudor until the end of the season.

Agent’s comments on Tottenham

Sport Witness has covered the results since then. This includes his agent, Rob Jensen. Providing all the details on Tottenham and Heitinga’s future plans.

It’s now up to the 42-year-old to take the next step. Heitinga looked to be on his way to victory after serving as assistant manager to Arne Slot at Liverpool last year.

Indeed, it was clear from his report at the time of his departure that Liverpool were sad to lose him. Observers have also attributed some of his struggles this season to his exit.

That work landed him the manager’s job at Ajax, who appointed him as head coach the previous summer. Unfortunately, it lasted only 128 days after a disastrous start to both their domestic and European campaigns.

back in the market

After a short, unsuccessful and questionable spell at Tottenham he has now returned as a free agent. However, Knipping has no sympathy for the Dutch coach.

“Losing your job in both the Eredivisie and the Premier League in one season. Not many managers can do that,” He said.

“After being fired in Amsterdam, Heitinga left his position as assistant manager at Tottenham, where he had started just a few weeks earlier.

“His bank account has undoubtedly seen a nice bounce in recent months, but his coaching career is certainly not taking the turn he might have imagined when he took over as head coach at Ajax earlier this season.

‘Time is running out’ – Tottenham’s interest cause for concern, Tudor key to future

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is causing concern for Roma, who know ‘time is running out’ to renew his contract.

Roma Giallo Rossa covers the 29-year-old today. The Italian outlet published a report earlier this week stating that Tottenham have shown an interest in Pellegrini.

Sport Witness covered that report from Italy two days ago. It revealed that Tottenham were showing a keen interest in the midfielder. He was reportedly recommended by his interim coach Igor Tudor.

The assumption was that he is on Tottenham’s list for the summer as they keep an eye on free agents. Much of this was linked to Tudor, who could have pressed for a deal if the end of the season was put in place.

Tottenham’s interest in Pellegrini

However, Tottenham’s interest in Pellegrini is nothing new. Actually, back in August, Sport Witness covered the possibility of Spurs beating West Ham in their signing.

Roma Giallo Rossa has now added its information, stating that Pellegrini’s ‘marriage’ to Roma appears to be nearing its end. Renewal of his deal is ‘still a way off’ and no deal is in sight.

The possibility of him becoming a free agent in the summer is becoming a ‘reality’. Roma’s management is worried about this and now it has to take a decision. Either they hurry up for renewal or bid farewell to ‘one of the symbols of recent seasons’.

key to tudor future

If it’s the latter then Tottenham are set to capture him. Tudor greatly respects Pellegrini and considers him an ‘ideal candidate’ to strengthen his midfield.

However, Tottenham will have to give him a long-term deal before he can make an impact on their transfer strategy.

Meanwhile, Roma is watching and pondering. The Italian side knows that ‘time is running out’ to resolve the situation. The pressure on him has not been easy to handle due to interest from Spurs.

“It’s a plague” – belief Manchester United and Tottenham’s issues are spreading

The ‘plague’ of injuries at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur this season is a sign that something is wrong with the game.

This is according to ‘athletic trainer’ Eugenio Albarella. He is discussing Napoli’s injury issues on Radio Marte, Relayed by Aria Napoli.

The Italian champions are currently struggling with an injury crisis, with several stars out. Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne are currently prominent among them, with both suffering from muscle injuries.

He is one of several left out, with David Neres, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Frank Anguissa and Amir Rahmani also on the absent list.

premier league injuries

This is a growing problem in sports, with increasing workloads and schedules placing more and more demands on players throughout the game. This has also been seen in the Premier League.

Last season alone, there were 593 injuries across the league, resulting in 2597 games missed and a total of 21,451 days lost. tottenham Were among the most affected.

Spurs currently have 12 players out, the most in the Premier League by distance. He suffered a total of 41 injuries last season, the third most.

Meanwhile, Manchester United currently have three out. Last season he suffered a total of 33 injuries, costing him 1295 days and a total of 156 games.

Tottenham and Manchester United ‘plague’

There is a clear trend throughout the game and Albarella thinks the plague is spreading. He made reference to Tottenham and Manchester United when discussing the issues in Naples.

“There is not enough flexibility to adapt to the performance times required by modern football today,” he said.

“Above all, the intensity has increased. If there is no opportunity to prepare adequately, the injury rate inevitably increases. Napoli is one of the top teams that plays every three days.

“Tottenham and Manchester United have suffered matches with 15-18 players unavailable: this is a plague that does not just affect Napoli, because it is a plague that I would define as systemic.”

John Heitinga surprised by Tottenham’s decision – Tudor talks dashed his hopes

John Heitinga was expected to get the Tottenham Hotspur job on an interim basis following the dismissal of Thomas Frank.

This is according to journalist Valentin Driessen, Via Football News. He explained that Igor Tudor’s appointment took him by surprise.

Heitinga left his role as Tottenham assistant manager on 16 February.thJust 33 days after joining the club. Tottenham brought him in to support Thomas Frank as the pressure on him increased.

He previously worked as assistant manager at West Ham and Liverpool, the last season they won the title.

short tottenham spell

The hope was that he could help turn things around at Tottenham with his expertise. Instead, Spurs remained without a win in five Premier League games during his time on the touchline.

Despite this, according to Driessen, he was expected to take the job on an interim basis when Frank was eventually dismissed. Instead, he turned to Tudor and went to Dutchman.

He said, “If you read the statement: He could have stayed, and certainly he would have still been there.”

“That manager had been fired last week, and John could have stayed, but he was expected to be interim manager for the rest of the season. Then he heard Igor Tudor was coming.

“Then they sat down together, and he thought: ‘I don’t see any future here, because next season there will be a completely new staff and a new manager. He will bring his own people with him.’

“And he probably didn’t want to work under that Tudor, after which he said: ‘I’m closing the door behind me.'”

What does tottenham follow?

The question now is what’s next for Heitinga. A return to Liverpool could make sense, but with Arne Slott now in his place is Giovani Van Bronckhorst.

On the other side of Merseyside there’s always David Moyes. He originally brought him to West Ham as his assistant and also worked with him as a player. However, his team in Hill Dickinson looks ready.

Or perhaps there is a bigger job somewhere to allow the 42-year-old to finally establish himself.

Tottenham’s exit was described as painful in the Netherlands – “The biggest talent in Europe… and now?”

johnny heitinga
Amsterdam, Netherlands – 3 August 2025 – Jonny Heitinga during the pre-season friendly match between AFC Ajax and AS Monaco.

John Heitinga’s time at Tottenham Hotspur is already over. Just 33 days after arriving as part of Thomas Frank’s staff, the Dutchman was out.

Heitinga joined Spurs as Frank’s assistant in mid-January. However, once the club sacked Frank on Friday, the writing was clear on the wall. Igor Tudor moved in as interim head coach until the end of the season. A few days later, Heitinga followed Frank out the door.

Now, a Dutch podcast has offered a brutal rendition of what really happened. But I am saying foreign travelPandit Suleyman Ozturk did not back down. He suggested that Tudor had no use for the former Everton defender.

“I think Igor Tudor can’t do anything with Heytinga. That’s just it. I think that’s the story. We shouldn’t make it bigger than it is.” He said.

That was not the only sharp comment. Discussing Tudor’s arrival, Ozturk described the Croatian as a confrontational figure brought in to shake up the dressing room.

“He has been brought in to take Spurs over the next two months and keep them in the Premier League. If you make such a call in front of this team, anyone who tells them the truth… will eat you up.”

strong words. And they paint a clear picture of why Heitinga might not have fit into the new arrangement.

Gone from ‘Europe’s greatest talent’ in a matter of weeks

The same podcast made fun of the publicity that followed Heitinga from the Netherlands. Ozturk described how some media had labeled him “the greatest coaching talent in Europe”.

“It’s painful. You’ve been an assistant for three weeks. The greatest European talent. And now? What do you do?”

Heitinga was tasked with organizing the defense of Tottenham under Frank. However, Dutch pundits also questioned whether Frank really wanted him, hinting that he may have been imposed by the board.

Meanwhile, Tudor has reportedly arrived with his staff. In modern football, this often means sweeping changes. Heitinga became collateral damage.

what happens next?

For Tottenham, the focus is on survival. Tudor’s mission is short and clear: to stabilize the ship and reevaluate it over the summer.

For Heitinga, this episode raises new questions. After a difficult tenure as head coach of Ajax, this meant a Premier League reset. Instead, it lasted barely a month.

Still, as explained in the podcast, a solid contract could soften the blow. The Dutchman has previous experience in England with West Ham and Liverpool. There is a possibility of another opportunity coming. But it ended with lightning speed.
