The team, once known as the Hardy Boyz in WWE, has had a very successful run in their second stint with TNA Wrestling. Still, what makes this latest stint with the company different is TNA’s working relationship with his former employer. That relationship has allowed the Hardys to move to WWE to make occasional appearances in NXT.
However, Matt Hardy suggested last year that the pair would return to WWE TV again, and this week further raised that possibility.
“We’re constantly in talks with WWE about doing some more things. We’ll be doing a lot more with them,” Hardy told Metro UK. “The relationship with WWE has been great. Whenever we’ve interacted with Shawn Michaels, he’s been absolutely amazing. Triple H, whoever he is, has gotten along very well with all of us. I think you’re going to see some more good Hardy Boyz moments in WWE before it’s all said and done in 2026.”

Jeff Hardy is 48 years old, and Matt Hardy is 51 years old. Their bump card is almost full, so they need to make the most of the time they have left in the industry. Therefore it is necessary to examine some historical clashes. The North Carolina brothers were, arguably, the best of their era. Therefore there has to be a competition with The Usos.
They are both siblings who will go into the WWE Hall of Fame and are the best of their generations. Before the Hardy Boyz are eliminated, they will have to face The Usos at least once.

Matt Hardy has a history with Bray Wyatt, the deceased brother of Bo Dallas. When the elder Hardy used his “Broken Matt” character in WWE, he and the former WWE Champion held the tag titles. It feels right to have a conversation between the Hardys and the Wyatt Six. Especially if the brothers use their “broken” alternative versions. The clash of dark personalities can provide some entertaining television.

However, more than that, if the Hardy Boyz are checking out dream matches, a confrontation with perhaps the best tag team in NJPW, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, would be something a lot of fans would love to see before they retire.

There’s a good chance that when the Hardy Boyz return to WWE, they will again be in NXT, where they have faced many teams. However, what they don’t have yet is Hank & Tank. The former NXT Tag Champions are the best team on the black-and-gold brand because they blend physicality, athleticism, and silliness. The NXT duo would benefit from rubbing shoulders with the Hardys.

Whenever The Hardy Boyz return to WWE, longtime WWE fans will be looking forward to another match against The New Day. Like The Usos, The New Day are also in the running as the best tag team of their generation. The fact that they have never faced the Hardys in a traditional tag match is criminal. For the sake of fans and wrestling history, this needs to change in 2026.
