WWE backstage rumor makes Wyatt Six, New Day and MCMG releases even more ridiculous

A new rumor about WWE’s plans in the coming weeks and months makes the recent release of the Wyatt Six and the Motor City Machine Guns even more silly.

In April, WWE surprised wrestling fans when they decided to part ways with approximately 30 performers across Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and their developmental system. There were several surprise departures, but one that shocked many was the entire faction known as the Wyatt Six and TNA/Impact legends, the Motor City Machine Guns.

His exit seemed to reflect the company’s disinterest in tag wrestling as WWE fans have become more aware over the years. However, apparently, the promotion is planning to invest in tag wrestling again soon.

WWE plans to rebuild the tag team division

According to False Finish, “WWE is currently trying to help rebuild the tag team division from within, while also looking at the possibility of signing tag teams from other promotions in the near future.”

Obviously, the report should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if there is any truth to the news that WWE decided to cut ties with former tag champions like Wyatt Six, MCMG, and The New Day – who decided to leave after they asked to take a pay cut – it now seems pretty silly.

For tag wrestling fans, the report is good news, and WWE has some very talented teams on its stacked roster. But if they really invested in rebuilding the division, they seriously damaged it with their release last month.

The latest on a big round of WWE roster cuts, including the end of the Wyatt Six

Ahead of this week’s edition of SmackDown, multiple reports have revealed a new round of WWE roster cuts, including several members of the Wyatt Six.

Spring is a prime time during the WWE calendar as it includes the all-important road to WrestleMania. The annual mega event often serves as the conclusion of several major ongoing storylines, and the beginning of a new direction for the company in the days to come. It also comes with an audit of the current roster.

While this time of year is a high point for fans, it’s also usually a time for artists to be concerned about their spot on the roster. On Friday, several WWE stars learned that their services will no longer be needed.

The most notable releases that have been confirmed are the three members of the Wyatt Six. They are their leaders, Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy, Joe Gacy and Nikki Cross. It is unclear whether the remaining members of the team, Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis, will also be included in the cuts or will remain in the company with New Directions.

The sole member of Chelsea Green’s Secret Her-Vice, Alba Phair, confirmed that her time at the company is coming to an end. Injured former Women’s Title contender Zoey Stark has also parted ways with WWE, and NXT veteran and Chase U leader Andre Chase revealed in an X-post that he too has been added to the roster.

A total of six performers were added to Friday’s WWE roster cuts. More releases may emerge in the next 24 to 48 hours.
