Guglielmo Vicario had a disappointing season tottenham But it is still rated in Italy.
Initially, Inter Milan were keen to sign the goalkeeper. sports witness Covered that individual terms had been agreed and preliminary discussions had taken place.
Soon, Inter changed their mind and now it is Juventus who are interested in the 29-year-old player. They may part ways with Michel Di Gregorio and will need a reliable first-choice option.
Despite Vicario's struggles at Tottenham, former coach Leonardo Semplisi has backed him.
relied on disorder
spoke to italian of tuttojuve Mirko Di Natale and the conversation focused on Vicario and his possible move to the Old Lady.
Semplesi described Vicario as one of the best in the world and someone who will leave his mark in Turin.
"I consider him one of the best goalkeepers not only in Italy but also in Europe. I believe he has the experience and the right personality to play in a prestigious environment like Juventus."
Semplesi also explained why he thinks the Tottenham player is better than Di Gregorio, as both keepers struggled during the 2025/26 campaign.
"Let's start with the assumption that I have always liked Di Gregorio, but I watched him this year and his performances have been questioned. I don't know what caused it, perhaps pressure, extreme expectations and the year-long struggle to win were factors that affected his performances.
"In my opinion, he remains an excellent goalkeeper. But there must have been reasons why the parties decided to focus on someone else."
After this he started making excuses for Vicario's season.
"For me, it was and still is a positive experience. Unfortunately, he has been limited by some injuries. Being a key player in Europe after winning the Europa League, being able to play in an environment like England was important for him.
"A possible return to Italy could be beneficial for him, but I think he has all the knowledge and skills to perform well."
praise is too much
Semplice is speaking from an emotional point of view and doesn't really have the experience that a Spurs fan can have. It's fair to say that Vicario may not even be first-choice under Roberto De Zerbi, who has shown a greater willingness to utilize Antonin Kinski.
This, in itself, should raise concerns for Juve. There is every possibility that Vicario can deliver his best performance in Turin but the last few months have been disappointing.
Apart from this, the 29-year-old player has also faced injury problems, which has affected his season. If he puts them behind him, there's every chance he can get back on track.
For Tottenham, he is a marketable unit. Everything will depend on how much the lovers can offer.
