fulham Goal Chibuike Nwaivu has rejected transfer talks from Trabzonspor this summer, insisting he will remain at the Turkish club.
photosport Cover the 22-year-old's comments today. He is aware of the transfer rumours, but insists he will not be going anywhere this summer.
Fulham bid rejected
Fotospor report that Trabzonspor were planning to sell the centre-back this summer 'for a record fee'. The defender is currently valued at €10m by the likes of Transfermarkt.
Sport Witness covered a recent report Explaining that Fulham had rejected a €10m offer from the Turkish side.
Then a second report suggested that the claims of a €20m bid were too massive. In fact, it states that the Premier League team needs at least €30m to get their man this summer. This would break the club's sales record of €27.5m.
But it seems Chibuike Nwaivu is not interested in rumors at the moment. In fact, when asked directly, he rejected them completely.
"I have an ongoing contract with Trabzonspor," he said.
"I need to go back and continue my career with my club. That's my club and I'm a contracted player there. Time will tell what happens from here."
Fulham must increase their offer
Now, this is certainly not a complete transfer rejection. But it is a clear signal from the player that he wants a deal agreed before the clubs even consider it.
Trabzonspor are clearly looking to make as much profit as possible. Having paid €5.5m in the January transfer window, they are already expecting a big profit after such a short period.
With Fulham's €20m bid already 'categorically rejected' according to Fotospor, they will clearly have to step up their efforts if they want to seal a deal this summer. Now it is up to them how high they want to go.
