upcoming fulham Manager Alvaro Arbeloa is keeping an eye on Real Madrid youngster Manuel Angel after working with him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The mail has reported Arbeloa is keen on the Real Madrid youngster and is keeping an eye on him as a potential signing at Craven Cottage this summer.
From Real Madrid to Fulham
The newspaper reports that the 22-year-old's current biggest suitors are Deportivo Alaves. They are in the market for a midfielder this summer and have been scouring the market for additional players.
The captain of Real Madrid's Castilla team is one name on their list. They have been keeping an eye on him for some time and the reports they have received are very positive.
According to the newspaper, Manuel Angel is often noted for his 'tactical intelligence, vision and ability to pace the game with his dribbling and precise passing'. He already has a lot of experience playing in La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
Those appearances came under Álvaro Arbeloa, who was his 'biggest supporter' at Valdebebas. He is now ready to take charge at Craven Cottage and has the youngster on his radar. There is no indication of any further steps beyond this.
But the 22-year-old is a player he knows well. In fact, Manuel Angel has made 40 appearances under the Spanish coach during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. This includes Madrid's victory in the last 16 of the Champions League against Manchester City in the Champions League last season. He is clearly a player the incoming Fulham manager has confidence in.
Real Madrid wants control
It will not be difficult to conclude any deal. Manuel Angel has only one year left on his deal with the Spanish giants.
In fact, they are unwilling to lose complete control over it. He is considered a quality player with immense potential. Those responsible are considering how to manage his departure.
A contract extension would be his preferred route, but if he is secure a loan is also an option. Alternatively, a sale and buy-back option would also work for them while retaining a percentage of their registration rights.
Potentially worth looking into for Fulham. Arbeloa is a famous fan either way and continuing to work with him could be beneficial for Manuel Angel as well.
