Sheffield United midfielder Alex Matos is on the verge of signing a contract with Goztepe, according to claims in Turkish media.

The Turkish newspaper reports that Matos has agreed a move to Goztepe despite only arriving at Bramhall Lane last summer. Sheffield United have also reached an agreement to sell the attacking midfielder.
Matos is now expected to travel to Türkiye this week to complete his stay in Göztepe subject to medical treatment. The transfer fee has not been disclosed at this stage.
Matos signed a three-year deal with the Blades in September, but was loaned out to Oxford United in January. He made just eight appearances for the South Yorkshire team last season and is contracted until June 2028.
With the pending departure of Dennis, the 23-year-old player is expected to fill the void left by the Nigerian. Last week we covered reports that Coventry City were in the race to sign the player and they have already made their move.
