Sport Witness covered a report from Italy yesterday Explaining that Everton had opened talks with both Parma and Mandela Keita's agents about a move this summer.
This followed a report in England stating that the 24-year-old midfielder was on the Toffees list this summer.
However, no potential asking price was offered in that report. Now Sport Italia and Longari provide information.
According to him, Atalanta are also paying 'a lot of attention' to Keita this summer. In fact, they have held talks with Parma about a deal for the Belgian midfielder. Parma's asking price is €25m plus bonuses.
They make no mention of Everton at this point. But they reveal that 'some foreign clubs' are also interested in the midfielder. It's possible that Everton could fall into that group, which has been reported elsewhere.
Do Everton want to spend?
The question is whether they want to spend €25m on the midfielder this summer. They have already strengthened that position, with a €16m deal for Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney already in progress and likely to be completed this week.
Merlin Rohl's loan deal has also been made permanent, leading to more competition in the central midfielder area. But Idrissa Gana Gueye has yet to sign a new deal, and with reports linking Tim Iroegbunam to a departure, they may need more additions than initially anticipated.
