Deal with Tottenham could heat up ‘at any moment’ – fee and wages expected to be affordable

Not long ago, Inter Milan were keen to sign tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario. It is Juventus who are now looking to make a formal move for the Italian.

earlier this year, sports witness Covered how the Nerazzurri were expected to make a push for the Spurs keeper. They had agreed personal terms with him and sporting director Piero Ausilio even met Vicario's squad in London.

These were signs that a deal would be reached and everything was going in the right direction.

Soon, Inter pulled back. They are now keen to make Josep Martínez their first-choice signing, ruling out the need to sign Vicario.

This does not mean that the 29-year-old player will remain at Tottenham.

Juve is growing curious

sportmediaset Juve are reportedly eyeing a move on two key keeper targets. One was Alisson and the most recent is Aston Villa's Amy Martínez.

The player was keen on a move to Turin, but the Villans' €15m demand is blocking a deal.

This has strengthened Vicario's candidature. His profile has risen through Juve's shortlist, largely because Tottenham players earn less than Martínez. Although it has been said that Spurs could demand €15 million to €20 million, Juve would make significant savings on the wage front.

The Italy international is younger and more experienced in Serie A. He is keen to return to Italy, where he first made his mark at Empoli.

In fact, the outlet thinks a deal for Vicario could heat up 'at any moment'. Luciano Spalletti is keen to sign him in that position, having watched the Tottenham man closely during his time as Italy manager.

Spurs should not back out of sale

Vicario's time at Tottenham could be coming to an end. Roberto De Zerbi was content to use Antonin Kinski in his place at the end of the previous season, although this was partly fitness related.

Could be a natural next step for the Juve keeper. He would return to the top of the Italian game and potentially compete for silverware.

Tottenham paid €20m to sign him in 2023 and he weighs in at around €8m on their books.
