Marco Silva ends his five-year term fulham To join Benfica.
The Premier League side wanted to secure him on a better contract, but he moved to the Eagles.
Earlier this month, Silva said that the emotional aspect was a factor in his decision to leave Fulham despite feeling comfortable in England.
He said: : "The emotional side played a big role in my decision. I felt the challenge was huge and we were ready for it. There is no different reason than the name Benfica."
The Portuguese coach moved to Benfica because Jose Mourinho left him for Real Madrid. The latter brought in Mourinho after parting ways with Álvaro Arbeloa, who could now move to the London club.
Fulham are closing in on Silva's successor.

AC Milan have also shown interest in the 43-year-old and have held talks. However, due to his persistence and ambitious project, he has earned a move to the Premier League side. These factors may have convinced him to abandon the Serie A team for Fulham.

The parties have made solid progress as his arrival in England is 'imminent'. However, Marca makes it clear that the deal is close but not yet finalized.
Fulham are working on settling the final details and other formalities including filing the paperwork. They should sort this out soon, and barring a last-minute twist, Arbeloa should be Silva's successor.
Spaniard's record in Real Madrid
Álvaro Arbeloa joined the La Liga team in January, following a split with Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid promoted him to the first team, and he managed 28 matches this year. His record is as follows:
