The claims circulating on social media that his release has been canceled are false. Sane has already returned to Japan, making an appearance in WWE impossible regardless of her contractual status.

The Washington Capitals have announced they are parting ways with assistant coach Kirk Mueller. Müller’s contract was due to expire in June.

Since the Raiders knew they had the top pick heading into Week 18, Spytek had his eye on one player. Winning the Heisman Trophy and a national championship made Fernando Mendoza’s case even stronger.

“We had a great process and we promised ourselves, the ownership group, the fans that we would do it the right way,” Spytek said. “We didn’t start with the end in mind. No. 38: Treydon Stukes, S, Arizona

For the second year in a row, Spytech found value with a second round of declines. Originally holding the 36th pick, Las Vegas traded that selection and the 117th pick to Houston to acquire the 38th and 91st picks. The 38th became Stukes, a safety from Arizona who recorded four interceptions and six pass breakups last season. They had first round potential before losing to the Raiders in the second round.

No. 67: Kieron Crawford, EDGE, Auburn

With their third-round selection, the Raiders selected Crawford, an edge rusher from Auburn. He joins Max Crosby and Kwity Paye in the defensive end room. Malcolm Koons is on a one-year deal, and Tyree Wilson — who was traded Saturday — is expected to be a free agent after the season. This clears the way for Crawford to develop into a long-term contributor.

No. 91: Trey Zuhn III, C, Texas A&M

The second pick from the Houston trade, Zuhn continues the team’s investment in the offensive line. After signing Tyler Linderbaum this offseason and drafting Jackson Powers-Johnson two years ago, Las Vegas continues to move forward. Zuhn ranked first out of 632 eligible offensive linemen in PFF pass-blocking grade last season with a 96.8, leading to 10 total pressures – including two sacks and a hit – with only one penalty.

No. 101: Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee

To begin the third and final day of the draft, Spitek made his second trade, acquiring the 101st overall pick from Buffalo for the 102nd pick and a seventh-round selection the following year. Las Vegas moved up one spot to running back McCoy, a cornerback from Tennessee with potential top-10 upside who went down in January with a torn ACL. His recovery will determine whether the Raiders take full advantage of the move.

No. 122: Mike Washington Jr., RB, Arkansas

Despite sending the 117th pick to Houston, Spytek moved up again in the fourth round, receiving the 122nd pick from Atlanta for the 134th and 208th picks. Washington, 6 feet and 225 pounds, ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the combine and totaled 1,070 yards and eight touchdowns on 167 carries for the Razorbacks last season. He serves as the backup to Ashton Jeanty and brings the size and explosiveness to break off a big run.

Just when you thought the Raiders were focused on the secondary, Las Vegas drafted Hezekiah Maas out of UC Berkeley. Last year with the Golden Bears, Masses recorded five interceptions and nine pass breakups.

The Raiders drafted Janata out of California, their fourth defensive pick of the draft. He recorded five interceptions and nine pass breakups last season for the Golden Bears. His selection, along with Stucks and Johnson, allows Las Vegas to rotate Isaiah Pola-Mao and Jeremy Chinn into the nickel and strong safety roles.

No. 195: Malik Benson, WR, Oregon

With their 10th and final pick, the Raiders took Cleveland, a defensive tackle from NC State. He started two seasons on the Wolfpack’s defensive line and had 10 tackles for loss his last two years, giving Las Vegas interior pass-rush depth on all three downs.

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager James Gladstone is the NFL’s youngest GM. After seeing how the Jaguars handled the 2026 NFL Draft, some might say their inexperience showed last weekend.

To be fair, this team was already behind the 8-ball, entering the weekend without a first-round draft pick after last year’s trade for Travis Hunter. Jacksonville’s first draft selection did not come until the 56th overall selection, when they selected tight end Nate Boerkircher, who was projected to be a fourth-round selection by NFL.com and athleticDan Brugler.

The versatile Reese will show off his playmaking ability and make plays sideline to sideline. Reese would not only lead the Giants in tackles, but he would have the most tackles of any rookie, be named to the All-Rookie team, and be voted to the Pro Bowl.

Francis Mauigoa

Despite playing right tackle at the University of Miami, Mauigoa will be the team’s new starting right guard. He will start all 17 games at guard and help reduce the number of sacks given up by the line from 48 in 2025 to 30 in 2026. He would also be named to the All-Rookie Team.

colton hood

Hood would spend the first half of the season in and out of the starting lineup. Then in the second half of the season, he would emerge as the full-time starter opposite Paulson Adebo. He will bring big play ability to the secondary as he has two pick-sixes on the season.

Malachi Fields

The 6’4, 223-pound Fields is the biggest target in the Giants’ wide receiver room. As the season progressed, his playing time would gradually increase, and he would become one of Jackson Dart’s favorite targets in the red zone. Fields scored five receiving touchdowns in each of his final three years in college, and as a rookie, he would also find the end zone five times.

Jamison-Travis is the only defensive lineman the team took in the draft, so they definitely have plans to help the interior defense. His 6’4 322-pound frame allows him to stack blockers so his teammates can make plays, and he will clog running lanes. His stats won’t be off the charts, but he will play a big role in improving the team to their 31^{scheduled tribe} Run defense from a season ago.

jesse davis

A sixth-round pick is never guaranteed to make the final roster, but Davis appeared in 47 games during his collegiate career, and the franchise has always preferred players with lots of experience. He will make the final roster and add depth to the line. Teams can convert him from tackle to guard, and he can be used in short-yardage and goal-line situations.

The Giants’ final pick in the draft could end up being the best value pick in the draft. The versatile and offensive linebacker had 75 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss and 15 sacks in his two seasons at BYU. The defensive coordinator will integrate Kelly into the defensive rotation, but Kelly will also make a big impact on special teams, as he will lead the Giants in special teams tackles this season.

Sometimes, a pitcher going on the injured list is a big blow to a team. But let’s admit that sometimes, that’s not such a bad thing. The latter is the case for Toronto Blue Jays starter Max Scherzer. He is hitting the IL with “arm and ankle injuries.”

Truth be told, forearm tendinitis has been hindering Scherzer since his second start, and it shows.

The 41-year-old has struggled to a 9.64 ERA in his five starts so far this season. In his last four starts, in fact, over 12.2 innings, he has surrendered 19 earned runs, allowing six homers, seven walks and only six strikeouts.

Lee is in his first year in the Jays organization, after making his major league debut with the Detroit Tigers last season. He posted a 4.10 ERA in 37 innings in Detroit last season.

The Yesves, last year’s rookie of the year, will make their long-awaited season debut on Tuesday night after completing their rehab assignment. He had been out since spring training with a right shoulder injury.

Heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, most analysts predicted that the Minnesota Vikings would select Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman with the 18th overall selection in the first round. Of course, the Vikings did not perform as expected, instead selecting Florida defensive tackle Caleb Banks in the first round.

The Vikings did not address the safety position until the third round, and they selected nine players overall, the most since 2022. Nevertheless, many analysts felt that Minnesota’s first selection was a reach, given that Banks had multiple foot surgeries and was limited to only three games last season.

Banks was projected as a second-round selection, but the Vikings feel he has the talent to be worthy of a first-round selection. If healthy, they may be right.

Still others, prefer athleticDan Brugler feels like the Vikings had one of the worst draft classes in the NFL this year, finishing 29th out of 32 teams.

Yet, unlike hundreds of others who have already signed contracts, Pavia have taken a different path.

He has already agreed to participate in the Ravens’ rookie minicamp this weekend. However, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “if the Ravens don’t sign him other teams may also want to bring him in.”

Whatever happens, Pavia faces a tough road ahead. For now, he will compete for a chance to become the Ravens’ third-line QB behind Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley. Still, there may be more opportunities to come if things don’t work out well this weekend.

Pavia threw for 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions last season, while completing 70.6% of his passes. Pavia threw for another 862 yards and 10 touchdowns as a runner, demonstrating dual-threat ability. But he was in college; He still needs to prove himself in the NFL.

Now that the 2026 NFL Draft is over, the Dallas Cowboys can turn their attention to other areas. In their case, that might mean figuring out what to do with George Pickens. The team has placed the franchise tag on its other Pro Bowl wide receiver, but despite previous reports, the 25-year-old has not signed it yet.

That means anything could still happen, from the Cowboys pulling the $27.2 million franchise tag, re-signing him to a long-term contract, or possibly even a trade. If it were up to Pickens, he would prefer either a long-term contract or even a trade to Dallas rather than playing under the one-year franchise tag.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pickens has now told the Cowboys that he either “wants a long-term contract, or he wants a trade.”

Schefter says Pickens’ agent also tried reaching out to other teams to gauge their trade interest in the star receiver, but “got nothing.” Meanwhile, the Cowboys remained “adamant” that they would not trade Pickens despite having no intention of signing him to a long-term deal this offseason.

It feels like the Micah Parsons situation is evolving again in Dallas. According to Schefter, Pickens is “more tradeable than Parsons” because the Cowboys are not ready to negotiate a long-term contract with the receiver yet.

Now that the NFL Draft is over, perhaps teams will reevaluate Pickens’ potential availability. Will someone come up with an offer too good to refuse?

As the April portion of the MLB schedule draws to a close, let’s take a look at our first MLB hot seat rankings.

1. Joe Espada, Houston Astros

Who will be the next manager to be fired? Our bet is on Houston Astros captain Joe Espada. Astros general manager Dana Brown is in a contract year, and while he has yet to publicly support Espada, the pressure is mounting in Houston. Team owner Jim Crane wants results after investing more than $230 million into the Astros’ roster this season, well above the luxury tax. No trade is coming, and the Astros lineup – the fourth-most runs scored (151) with the third-best OBP (.345) and SLG (.438) – has already done everything it can to try to propel the team forward. If the Astros miss some of their upcoming sets against the Red Sox, Dodgers and Reds, Espada probably won’t be the team captain when they return home for a May 11 series against the Seattle Mariners.

2. Carlos Mendoza, New York Mets

Is it Carlos Mendoza’s fault the New York Mets are 10 games below .500 on Monday? No, because in retrospect, the Mets roster was deeply flawed from the beginning, and missing the postseason for the second consecutive season is a huge indictment of the front office. However, both the team’s poor performance and there being zero real chemistry in the Mets clubhouse require someone to be the proverbial head on the chopping block. We believe owner Steve Cohen and president of baseball operations David Stearns will have some patience with Mendoza given the team’s injuries. However, if things did not change by mid-May and the Mets lost the Subway Series at Citi Field, Mendoza would be gone.

3. Rob Thomson, Philadelphia Phillies

Just minutes after Alex Cora was fired, there was talk that he would be replacing Rob Thomson. While the Philadelphia Phillies captain is absolutely on the hot seat, we highly doubt that an outsider will be hired, and that’s even if a change at the top is being contemplated. Philadelphia is off to a rough start right now, but they are coming off four consecutive seasons with over 90 wins. Since Thompson took over as interim manager in 2022, the Phillies have the third-best record in baseball (355–270). A change is certainly possible if things don’t change by the summer, but we think it’s a safe bet for Thomson to be there by May.

4. Matt Quatraro, Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals are heading into their second season with a sub-.400 winning percentage under Matt Cutraro in four years. Through 514 career games as captain, the team has a winning percentage of .457 and the sixth-most losses (279) in baseball. Ownership has already spent money this off-season to put up fences to see if that will change things, and now they have their eye on a $3 billion stadium in Kansas City. The results on diamond are not good at all. Right now, it’s really just a question of whether or not the Royals will wait until the offseason to part ways with Cuartro.

5. Tony Vitello, San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants took a huge gamble by becoming the first team in the modern era to bring a college baseball coach straight to the majors as captain. Early on, Tony Vitello demonstrated that he may not have the right personality for the job. Even setting aside his many eyebrow-raising admissions and quotes to reporters, the Giants got off to a poor 6–12 start.

As noted, Vitello’s club picked up series wins over the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins at home. In the first two rounds, there’s a great case that New York came away with four starters. Fittingly, in a draft where the Buccaneers had addressed a position of weakness for several years, linebacker Josiah Trotter was the 46th pick overall. He was built for Tampa Bay’s defense, due to his excellent ability to attack everything in front of him. Dropping back into coverage is certainly an issue, but it’s clearly something the Buccaneers’ coaching staff is accustomed to dealing with at linebacker. Elsewhere on defense, Keyontae Scott (116th pick overall) could be a good nickel corner for the Buccaneers this season, and DeMonte Capehart provides some depth if Kansas goes down again.

We know Woods was extremely talented at Clemson, but he will get far better coaching in the NFL than he did at Clemson. Although his maximum range may not be reached for a few years, he could make a real positive impact on the interior in 2026.

Additionally, Kansas City added some pass-rushing depth on the edge with R Mason Thomas (40th pick overall). The history of the Chiefs coaching staff gives us all the confidence in the world that Jadon Canady (109th overall pick) can develop into a quality rotational cornerback. If New England ultimately voids the deal, Brown will join Dobbs, Kyle Williams, Mack Hollins, Demario Douglas and Elton Chism in the wide receiver room. This is a big upgrade heading into the 2025-26 NFL season, as Stefon Diggs took over as the Patriots’ WR1. In this scenario, Diggs would be the replacement as the WR2 behind Brown in New England.

4. Jordan Tyson, WR, New Orleans Saints

Durability is our primary issue when including Jordan Tyson among the NFL Rookie of the Year candidates in 2026. The New Orleans Saints made him the 8th overall pick, and he will complement Chris Olave well in this offense. After all, his first year, with former coach Pete Carroll, was filled with missed drafts and free agent misses. Yet, according to astute observers, there was something else at play.

No, 2026 was the first time we got a full glimpse of how Spytek, along with minority owner Tom Brady and some new scouting and front office staff, will run and build this thing. And, I must say, it was impressive.

Jon Spytek didn’t overthink it, he addressed key roster needs

Start with the foundation: Fernando Mendoza was never going to be wrong at No. 1. Las Vegas is already building a real support system around him, including Tyler Linderbaum at center, Ashton Jeanty in the backfield and Brock Bowers at tight end. The job of picks two through 10 was to add that infrastructure and fix the secondary. They did both, and then some.

Treydan Stukes addressed two needs at once – nickelback and safety – and was a legitimate first-round pick heading into draft weekend. Stukes isn’t a sexy pick, but he is a functional guy, and in a draft where the Raiders had a long list of needs, picking the guy who covers the most ground makes sense.

At 91, Trey Zuhn III might have been the steal of the day. He posted the highest pass-blocking grade at 96.8 among all college tackles on Pro Football Focus, and the Raiders took him in the third round. He was announced as a center but played tackle at Texas A&M. As for his NFL career, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Either way, he is a high-floor player protecting a rookie quarterback. You can’t argue with that.

Then the third day came and Spytek did not turn off the gas.

McCoy’s selection was off the charts

Honestly, at 101 years old, Jermod McCoy feels like a steal. He was the 14th overall prospect on the consensus big board and shouldn’t have fallen that far. Length, pace, ball skills – he has everything you want in a modern cornerback. The knee injury concerns are real – there are a lot of questions about McCoy’s health, and that’s why he still sat out Day 3. But the Raiders liked him enough to trade up a spot, sending a 7th-rounder to Buffalo to make sure they got him. It’s about being aggressive, and when top-14 talent is sitting in the fourth round being aggressive is always the right decision. If McCoy is healthy, this selection looks like the best value in the entire draft.

Mike Washington Jr. adds versatility and physicality to the backfield. He ran a 4.33-second 40 and gave Ashton Jeanty a real running partner – someone who can contribute in the passing game and break tackles if needed. The attackers made a bargain to get him too. Again, perfect trend.

So, where does all this leave us? In a really good place, something you couldn’t say about this franchise 12 months ago.

That said — and this column will be honest — there are real questions that weren’t answered this weekend.

Wide receiver Malik Benson was taken in the sixth round. Sixth rounder. The Raiders brought in several top wideouts for Top 30 trips throughout the spring, only for it to play out as a smoke screen. Benson has 4.37 speed and is legit, but he is a developmental piece, not a solution. Las Vegas took Deonte Thornton Jr. and Jack Beech last year, and neither of them came off a screen. At some point, Mendoza is going to need a legitimate No. 1 target outside of Brock Bowers to make things work. That question is still open.

and the defensive tackle position – the Raiders finally addressed a gap at nose tackle with their final selection of the draft, Brandon Cleveland, in the 7th round. 7th round. He has good size and is a reasonable run stopper, but it’s hard to see him making a real impact as a rookie. It seems like a Thanos-level inevitability that the New York Mets are going to fire manager Carlos Mendoza at the start of their series against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, tied for the worst record in MLB at 9-19.

A 12-game losing streak dominated most of April, and when they broke the slump with consecutive wins last week, they dropped three of four to one of the worst franchises of the last decade, the Colorado Rockies. It’s been a poor start to the season that can’t be blamed on a number of major injuries. One of the most expensive rosters in the game has enough talent to be much better than this.

Add in the fact that the Mets had a historic collapse at the end of last season, and it seems highly unlikely that Mendoza is still on the bench by mid-May. So, who can New York turn to in an effort to save the season and become the first team in MLB history to make the playoffs despite a 12-game losing streak?

We’re looking to answer that question with seven possible options to take over as Mets manager soon.

Kai Correa, Mets bench coach

The most likely replacement for Mendoza as manager of the Mets will be their new bench coach, Kai Correa. The 37-year-old has been viewed as a manager of the future in MLB circles for the past few years after stints as an assistant with the San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Guardians.

There was also speculation in February that he was hired specifically as a backup plan if Mendoza’s struggles continued early this season. Of all the possible options, Correa would likely be team president David Stearns’ choice.

Alex Cora, former Red Sox manager

Last weekend, the Boston Red Sox surprised many when they fired manager Alex Cora after eight seasons. While the team has had a few losing seasons under his watch (including an 11-17 start this year), the 50-year-old has had some very good years in Beantown, including a World Series victory in 2018.

Furthermore, he remains one of the most respected managers in the game because he brought the best out of the talent he had. He wasn’t the one to trade stars like Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers and Alex Bregman or let them walk. The managerial options for the Mets are few, with the season having just started a few weeks ago. However, one interesting veteran skipper who could be in the game if the team fires Mendoza is former Chicago Cubs manager David Ross.

Although he wasn’t amazing in Chi-Town, he was still very solid, and the team had a record of 83–79 before being replaced by Craig Council. If New York is interested in giving a former manager the rest of the season to prove they can do the job long term, Ross is a sensible choice.

Dick Scott, Mets Triple-A manager

Another short-term option with experience who could jump into the job on short notice is current Mets Triple-A manager Dick Scott. He has done a solid job at Syracuse, having been in the game for more than two decades, and previously served as the Mets’ bench coach in 2016 and 2017. So he knows the market pressure.

Although he won’t be the top choice, the Red Sox turned to their own Triple-A manager, Chad Tracy, to replace Cora last week.

After all, the Red Wings have other areas of need, including an elite forward and a new bottom six. For now, it’s an interesting idea, but Binnington may not need it.

1. Does Antonelli stay in the brightest light of the calendar?

Kimi Antonelli has won two races, led the championship, and broken Lewis Hamilton’s record as the youngest driver to top the standings. He’s done it all in Australia, China and Japan – circuits with serious racing pedigrees and relatively controlled environments.

Miami is different.

This is not a technical driver circuit with a respectable crowd. It draws 100,000 people, celebrity sightings, boat activations and a paddock that runs at full volume from Thursday morning. It is the loudest, most produced, most deliberate American event on the F1 calendar. Antonelli never finished a race weekend as the points leader. She’s never had to manage what this attention looks like in a city specifically designed to amplify it.

Antonelli, 19, has created a remarkable career so far. Miami will tell us something new about who she is.

2.McLaren comes out with a new car

Reigning constructor champion McLaren has had a nightmare start. Oscar Piastri could not start the first two races. Reigning driver champion Lando Norris is not on the podium. The MCL40 has been the third fastest car on the grid this weekend, 89 points behind Mercedes.

The Papaya team has spent five weeks fixing the car. Will it make a difference?

McLaren is expected to debut a significant upgrade package in Miami – described by multiple reports as close to an all-new car – featuring modifications to the floor, aerodynamics and rear suspension, designed to close the gap to the Mercedes and widen the car’s working window. Piastri almost achieved victory in Japan. With a full race weekend of upgrades and data, McLaren could be really dangerous here. Whether the package delivers or whether it’s another step in the right direction that still falls short of them, it sets the tone for the entire second leg of the season.

3. New rules hit Miami: Will racing really look different?

The FIA’s mid-season regulation package comes into effect at the end of this week. Following data from three races, F1 called an emergency meeting in which four unanimous changes were made: lowered super clipping limits to cut lift-and-coast times, limiting power deployment into corners to address dangerous closing speeds, a new race start detection system to improve safety, and updated wet weather protocols.

The goal is more flat-out driving and fewer moments where drivers are managing energy rather than racing. In theory, this should generate more wheel-to-wheel action. In practice, Miami will be the first real test of whether any of this works. The sprint format adds a complication – teams will have to adapt their strategies to the new parameters in both the Saturday sprint and Sunday’s main event.

Look carefully at the first few corners. If the startup process changes, you will know immediately.

4. George Russell needs to make a statement

George Russell wins the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. He is second in the championship, nine points behind, in the same car as the leader. On paper, it’s fine. In reality, Martin Brundle said it out loud in the quiet section: Russell needs to treat his 19-year-old team-mate like peak Lewis Hamilton or risk seeing the season slip away from him.

The five-week break was publicly framed as a reset. Personally, the pressure on Russell to go to Miami is real. Russell has so much F1 experience that no one on the grid would have expected Antonelli to compete with him any time soon. he has a car. He has a track record. Miami is an opportunity for him to re-establish himself as the championship favorite he was considered before the season started. A win here completely changes the story.

The result of finishing second behind Antonelli is the opposite.

5. Can anyone from outside Mercedes win this race?

Mercedes has won all Grands Prix in 2026. Russell and Antonelli have secured front row positions in qualifying in all three rounds. Ferrari has been competitive – Charles Leclerc is third in the championship, but has yet to score a win. The McLaren, as mentioned, comes with upgrades but with unproven pace.

Miami’s circuit characteristics may matter here. The 19-turn layout and Florida’s hot weekend tendency for tire degradation has historically rewarded teams that can manage tires late in the race. The new power unit rules have altered performance in ways that are not yet fully understood, and mid-season rule changes introduce variables for which no one has real-world data.

If any circuit on the calendar is going to produce F1’s first non-Mercedes winner in 2026, it’s it. Leclerc has the pace to challenge. The timing of McLaren’s upgrade is deliberate. And Verstappen – winless and frustrated – knows Miami. He has won here before also.

This trend will end at the end of this week, otherwise it will be very difficult to stop.
