The next step for Anthony Gordon will be to arrive at Barcelona, undergo a medical and complete his move to Camp Nou. At present there does not appear to be any obstacle in its path.

Newcastle can then begin to focus on potential replacements. Given Gordon’s importance this season, this will be no easy task by any means. But with a spend of €70 million, their options won’t be limited either.

Jalen Brunson’s new comments show why Carmelo Anthony was so bad for the NY Knicks

Jalen Brunson has added to his legacy as one of the greatest players in New York Knicks history over the past few weeks. However, some new comments on Wednesday highlight why Carmelo Anthony was so bad for the franchise during his time in Gotham.

The Knicks have felt like a team of destiny this month. After being down two games to one in their quarterfinal series against the Atlanta Hawks, they have pulled off a historic victory by winning seven consecutive games and securing their spot in the 2026 Eastern Conference Finals.

This is the second consecutive year the team has reached the conference finals and Brunson has played a huge role in their success. This includes reaching the playoffs every year since New York arrived in 2022. In that time, he has shocked the NBA world and emerged as a perennial All-Star and the best closer in the game.

Still, part of what makes Brunson so beloved by Knicks fans is that he is a humble star who is team-first. He proved this once again on Wednesday. During a press conference with the NYC media, Brunson was asked about his teammates recently taking more shots and not demanding the ball like many stars. His answer was simple and excellent.

Brunson said, “One, I’m not a star. Two, I want to win.”

Carmelo Anthony can’t hold a candle to Jalen Brunson in NYC

nix
brad penner-image images

That kind of selfless and humble nature hasn’t been seen from a top Knicks star in a very long time. decade. and was one of Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony’s seven seasons in New York. Still, as good as Anthony was, he was not as impactful a player as Brunson.

During his seven seasons in New York, the 10-time All-Star led the Knicks to the playoffs only three times. In four of those years, they had a losing record, including a 17–65 mark when they played only 40 games in 2014–15. And while they made the playoffs, New York got the furthest trip to the semi-finals. Brunson has done this in at least every season he has been with the team. Plus, he took a discounted rate when he signed his extension through 2024.

Anthony was a great player and a great scorer, but his me-first, ball-hogging style was great for his numbers but bad for his teammates and the Knicks’ championship hopes. While New York fans celebrated the return of the Brooklyn-born kid, his seven years playing inside Madison Square Garden were mostly disappointing. And they led the franchise to seven consecutive losing seasons.

Brunson has excelled since day one and he is still only 29 years old. So even bigger seasons and potentially the Knicks’ first championship since 1973 could be ahead. Fans should appreciate the three-time All-Star as much as possible because superstars like him don’t come around often.

Is Joel Embiid the 76ers’ answer to the Anthony Davis trade this summer?

The Philadelphia 76ers need to move on from Joel Embiid, and this summer is one possible way to do it. But that would mean acquiring another expensive, injury-plagued big man, and it could cost them their first-round pick in June.

There were high expectations for the Sixers’ postseason chances in Philadelphia a week ago. They made a stunning comeback from 3-1 down to eliminate the Boston Celtics in the first round. Many analysts around the game suggested that they were the new favorites from the East to reach the NBA Finals. Then they ran into a buzz saw called the New York Knicks.

The organization has a lot of decisions to make after the 76ers’ dominance and loss to New York. Is Daryl Morey’s run as team president over? Should coach Nick Nurse be fired? Still, for whoever is running the team next month, one era that needs to end is Embiid’s time in the City of Brotherly Love.

Why the Philadelphia 76ers should trade Joel Embiid this summer

joel embiid
kyle ross-image images

The seven-time All-Star and 2022-23 NBA MVP will go down as one of the greatest players in 76ers history. That would be one of the greatest “what if” stories in league history. Despite once being an impressive athlete for a man of his size, the 32-year-old’s body is now in disrepair. In his 10 years in the league, he has played 60 or more games only four times due to numerous injuries, mostly to his legs.

In 2025-26, the 76ers placed him in bubble wrap and allowed him to play in only 38 games this season after appearing in 19 last year. Although he can perform at an All-Star level when healthy – he has posted 26.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks this season – his body cannot be trusted at all. This was proven during these playoffs, and with $186 million left on his contract, he is a bigger problem than a benefit for the organization.

What makes it even worse is that he has become a toxic personality at a time when Tyrese Maxey should be the new face of the franchise. He once again could not accept his team’s failures against the Knicks and blamed the referees. Then the season in which he played 38 games was called a “breakthrough”. In a blue-collar city like Philadelphia, Embiid has worn out his welcome. The 76ers will have to turn the pages to progress.

Yet, because he is so composed and has shown that he will never be able to recapture his previous form – plus he is owed so much money – he is perhaps the most unattainable player in the NBA. Unless he was traded for a similar player, and a sweetener was added to the deal.

Should the 76ers try to replace Anthony Davis with Joel Embiid?

anthony davis
Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

In many ways, 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis has had a similar career to Embiid. He also topped superstar projections. And while he could be a dominant force on the court like Embiid, injury problems followed him throughout his career. Besides, he still has a lot of money coming in. If Davis opts out of the final year of his contract in 2027-28, he could make up to $121 million over the next two years.

The Washington Wizards traded for him earlier this year and hope he – and Trae Young – can be part of a big resurgence next season. Still, reports have revealed that he is not thrilled about playing in DC, and may be open to another trade. But would the Wizards be willing to take Embiid back in a trade? Probably not.

However, if the 76ers were bold enough to add draft picks, they could do so. While Washington is expected to make big changes next season, they are still a rebuilding team that has the No. 1 pick in next month’s NBA Draft. What if they could also get the 22nd overall pick in one of the deepest drafts ever? Plus another first-rounder in a few years?

This would be a high cost for the 76ers. But they have the pieces to be very good again next season and they aren’t as eager to keep that pick at 22. Moving Embiid would be an addition by subtraction move. Plus, having Davis around even for one season is still a very good replacement option.

Although a trade is unlikely, if the 76ers can convince anyone to take Joel Embiid, his play and his contract, the Wizards would be the best trade partner.

Spanish newspaper drags Newcastle United journalists into Anthony Gordon transfer drama

The Barcelona press are not giving up on the idea of Anthony Gordon joining their local club this summer. And now, they’re getting newcastle united Journalists involved in transfer drama.

Today game report on the Newcastle winger And hear from Rafe Tindall and Sean McCormick regarding a potential move this summer.

Newcastle United to Barcelona

There have been reports of a move for Anthony Gordon away from Newcastle this summer. Bayern Munich were the first to be linked, with multiple claims in Germany insisting that his agents had met with the German giants.

Then Barcelona was brought into the mix. His agents were at his center again Sport catches him meeting Barcelona sporting director Deco.

The newspaper reported that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has ‘particular admiration’ for Gordon. According to the newspaper, the biggest obstacle to a deal is its high price.

Now the newspaper wants the Newcastle angle, and they have contacted Tindall and McCormick to discuss it today.

“It is widely believed that one of the star players will be sold this summer, as Newcastle chief executive David Hopkinson has admitted. In addition to Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Tino Livramiento are also attracting interest,” The latter said.

“Newcastle are demanding £80 million (€92 million) for Gordon. Although there is room for negotiation, I don’t think it will go much lower.

“He has been heavily linked with Bayern Munich, but it seems they are not willing to pay that much. Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested, but Newcastle would prefer to sell him to another club rather than an English rival.”

Everton Clough, Isaac Drama

Meanwhile, Tindall explains that Newcastle need to consider a number of factors when it comes to a deal.

Chief among them is a clause owed to Everton. The Toffees are owed 15% of any future sales following the winger’s move in 2023.

The Magpies are also keen to avoid a repeat of what happened to Alexander Isaac last summer. He remained on strike throughout the summer, forcing a transfer to Liverpool.

That eventually happened but Newcastle were forced to make a late and costly move to replace Nick Woltemade. According to Tindale, a repeat of that saga would not be welcome.

“If Gordon leaves, the way he does so will completely determine how Newcastle fans remember him, as a hero if it’s on good terms, or as a traitor if he tries to force an exit,” He added.

he missed her “Gordon refused to train with Everton for three consecutive days” Before signing for the Magpies.

Perfect for Barcelona

However, both journalists have no doubt about one thing. Anthony Gordon would be a perfect fit for this current Barcelona team.

“He is absolutely fit, he has proven that he can perform at the highest level, and he is one of those players who can single-handedly change the result,” Tindale said.

“Signing a player capable of working across the entire attacking line would be an example of talent. He has all the attributes to become one of the best wingers in Europe under Hansi Flick.”

“Gordon is very fast, an excellent dribbler, and creates threat in the final third of the pitch,” McCormick concluded.

“He has adapted perfectly to the physical environment and has great technique. He meets all the criteria.”

Indianapolis Colts change approach in Anthony Richardson trade

While the 2025 season was a great one for the Indianapolis Colts, not so much for quarterback Anthony Richardson. A raw talent who needed more experience in the game, he didn’t even get a chance to touch the field while dealing with a broken orbital bone during pregame warmups.

It was a crushing blow not only for the former first-round pick, but also for the Colts, who have not indicated they are ready to part with the 23-year-old. But after declining to pick up Richardson’s fifth-year contract option, it’s clear the Colts are not ready to commit further to the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

indianapolis colts, anthony richardson
Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagen Images

Recently, the Colts have been open to trading the cannon-armed, dual-threat QB. Those discussions were expected to heat up during the 2026 NFL Draft, when teams realized they wouldn’t be able to land the QB prospect they wanted. Yet, here we are, two weeks after the draft, and Richardson is still a member of the Colts.

Now, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter has indicated that the team is not eager to move on from Richardson, and a trade could happen later in training camp or even during the season if another team’s QB suffers an injury.

“There could be injuries, there could be a team that struggles at quarterback, there could be someone who is willing to pay more for Anthony Richardson in August than in April before or during the NFL Draft. And so, the Colts decided to hold on to the former high first-round draft pick and not deal him. And they figure they’ll move forward with him on the roster and essentially take care of it later.”

Adam Schefter on the Anthony Richardson trade

We’ve seen teams take this approach before. With how often injuries can occur, and how quickly they can derail a season, there’s always the possibility that the Colts could benefit from another franchise’s downfall later on. For now, they have a backup QB with star potential, who could also help Indianapolis as Daniel Jones works his way back from a torn Achilles.

Latest injury update on Anthony Edwards status for Game 1

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards suffered a knee injury on April 26, creating uncertainty about his status for the remainder of the NBA playoffs. Before the tip of Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Monday night, the Timberwolves got some positive news.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Edwards is now expected to play in Game 1 on Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs.

RELATED: NBA Playoff Predictions for the Conference Semifinals

Edwards suffered a knee injury in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Phoenix Suns. He was ultimately diagnosed with a hyperextended kneecap and a bone bruise in his left knee, with the expectation that he would miss the Western Conference Semifinals.

Sources told ESPN that the team has become more confident in Edwards’ ability to return quickly in recent days. He is undergoing “round the clock rehabilitation”, working up to light workouts over the weekend and then participating in the team’s shootaround on Monday morning.

What to expect in Anthony Edwards’ return to the Timberwolves

Ron Chenoy-Image Images

Edwards entered the NBA playoffs after suffering another knee injury. He missed 11 of the Timberwolves’ final 14 regular season games due to inflammation in his right knee.

This definitely seems to be having some impact on his performance. He entered the 2026 NBA Playoffs averaging 26.9 points per game, making 3.1 three-pointers per contest, while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from the perimeter in 42 career playoff starts.

In the four first-round series games against the Phoenix Suns, Edwards shot only 35.8 percent from the field and his average dropped to 2.0 three-pointers per game on 25.8 percent shooting.

The hope for Minnesota may be that nearly a full 8 days of rest and rehab can put Edwards in a better position to perform well in both Game 1 and the remainder of the series. Edwards is expected to be wearing a sleeve on his left knee, as he was spotted with one at shootaround this morning while testing it out with a quick-dribble stepback.

Timberwolves deal devastating blow to Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo

The Minnesota Timberwolves picked up a dominant and impressive win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. But Sunday morning, they received devastating news that their entire starting backcourt was out indefinitely.

Superstar Anthony Edwards will be out for “several weeks”.

Edwards was diagnosed with a bone spur and hyperextension of his left knee. Fortunately, imaging revealed no damage to the ligament, but still, the team will be without him for the foreseeable future.

Edwards is the engine that drives the T-Wolves forward, and now his absence will really force the rest of the cast to dig deep. They were able to do just that in their 112-96 win in Game 4 against the Nuggets.

DiVincenzo joins Edwards on the injured list.

To make matters worse, the Timberwolves also lost Edwards’ backcourt partner Donte DiVincenzo. His injury is much more serious, now identified as a torn Achilles.

His season is over with a long recovery. DiVincenzo will likely miss the entire 2026–27 season.

The T-Wolves totaled 40 points and seven assists from the lineup going forward. They need only one more win over the Nuggets to advance to the second round. But their next matchup, likely against the San Antonio Spurs, will be extremely difficult to climb without their entire starting backcourt.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight moves closer to reality as talks reach final stage

The long-awaited Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight is closer than ever after years of failed attempts. Negotiations have now reached the final stages, according to promoter Eddie Hearn, who confirmed on IFL TV that both sides are working out the final details of a two-fight agreement.

The deal will see Anthony Joshua return to the ring in July and face Tyson Fury later in the year. This update marks a major change after more than a decade of missed opportunities. The contracts have not yet been signed, but the structure of the deal is now clear. For fans, a Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight is no longer a distant dream. Now it’s close to being official.

Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight plans take shape

The Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight plan involves two fights under one agreement. Hearn confirmed that Joshua will take part in a warm-up fight in July before facing Fury, with November expected to be the target date for the main event.

“We will have a contract, and we haven’t signed a contract yet, but we are negotiating the final points in an agreement to get back in the ring in July and [then] “Fight Tyson Fury.”

The timeline follows the recent activity of both fighters. Fury returned on 11 April after a 16-month absence, defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov in Manchester. After the win, Fury called out Joshua.

Joshua has been active. He stopped Jake Paul shortly before a personal tragedy in Nigeria in December. Despite that condition, he quickly returned to training and has been preparing for his next fight ever since.

Hearn also talked about the risks surrounding the July fight. “The good news is: If we take a [warm-up] Fight like this, we’ve signed on to fight Tyson Fury, and all you have to do is bite your nails for 36 minutes or less in July, and you’ll get the fight, if not the fight of the century – of all time.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight backed by Saudi deal

The Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight is expected to be funded by Saudi boxing consultant Turki Alalshikh. Once the agreement is signed, control of the event will pass to Saudi organisers.

“Once we sign up for that deal, it is handed over to Saudi consultant Turki Alalshaikh for staging. We will promote for July; I think the November fight or whatever, will be promoted by the Saudi company Cela.”

“AJ and I, Tyson Fury, we will have a contract [Alalshikh] Basically financing the fight. It depends on where he is.”

There is still hope that the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight could take place in the United Kingdom. Hearn said the goal was to present a major event to the fans and suggested the venue would match the scale of the fight.

Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight affected by Usyk talks

The Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight has also been shaped with input from Oleksandr Usyk. Hearn confirmed that Usyk was involved in discussions regarding Joshua’s next steps.

“I’m sure he won’t mind me saying that, [a lot of this has come from Oleksandr Usyk]. He was part of these conversations, and the conversations were exactly like this: ‘He’s fighting back.'”

Usyk’s role helped define the plan for Joshua to take the fight in July before facing Fury. The timing also falls in line with Fury’s recent return and the current activity in the division.

Fury has not fought regularly in recent years and has talked about retirement. Meanwhile, Joshua continues to train and prepare for a comeback that could lead directly to the biggest fight of his career.

The Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight is unsigned, but negotiations are now in the final stages. If the contracts have been completed, the schedule is already in place. July will see Joshua’s return and November could finally deliver the heavyweight bout that has been talked about for years.

Newcastle are expected to spend big on potential Anthony Gordon replacement – ‘nice bonus’ if they do

FC Twente are hoping Newcastle United make a big move for Christos Tzoulis this summer as it would benefit them.

Twenty Insight Report The Dutch club will benefit from FIFA’s solidarity scheme if Newcastle move to sign Tzoulis as a replacement for Anthony Gordon this summer.

Newcastle’s interest in Tzolis

Newcastle have been linked with a potential move for Christos Tzoulis this summer following the departure of Anthony Gordon.

The English forward is reportedly a target of Bayern Munich. This claim has been made in many reports in Germany Bayern see huge benefits from a deal this summer. Newcastle are also reportedly keen on striking a deal for the 25-year-old.

If he departs a replacement will be needed and reports have named Tzolis as a substitute. The 24-year-old has been impressing at Club Brugge since 2024, with 38 goals and 38 assists in 102 games so far.

He is now living up to early expectations and may be a big step forward. Twente are certainly hoping Newcastle will spend big.

€30m valuation

Christos Tzoulis is currently valued at €30m, and if Newcastle or someone else paid that price, Twente would receive €150,000. This would be a ‘nice bonus’ for the Dutch club.

But they also think they can move forward. Twente Insight reports that during the last transfer window, Newcastle paid no less than €35m in fees on their five signings.

They are clearly dabbling in the possibility of a big move for Christos Tzolis. This is even if they are only owed a small percentage of any deal.

However, it all depends on Anthony Gordon. If he departs for Bayern Munich in a big-money deal, Newcastle will have the money to spend big on a replacement like Tzolis. And if they do, Twente will be rubbing their hands.

They only have the winger on loan for one season in 2022, but FIFA’s solidarity plan will not affect him.

夢幻棒球棄權線:Kodai Senga、Jake Bauers 和 Anthony Volpe

夢幻棒球棄權線拾音器

Kodai Senga(SP Mets):

Andy Ruiz Jr questions Anthony Joshua fight as uncertainty grows over trilogy

Andy Ruiz Jr has renewed calls for a third fight with Anthony Joshua, saying their rivalry is still incomplete six years after their first meeting. The former unified heavyweight champion recently spoke in an interview reflecting on his two bouts in 2019. Ruiz, now 35-2-1 with 22 knockouts, said both men changed after those bouts and he believes a trilogy would settle the score.

Their first clash ended in a major upset, while the rematch saw Joshua regain his title. Ruiz said he acknowledged his role in the second outcome but insisted that the third fight would see a different outcome if the two fighters met again at their best.

Andy Ruiz demands a trilogy with Anthony Joshua

Ruiz clarified his position while discussing his rivalry with Anthony Joshua on Casino.org. “I think there should be a trilogy with ‘AJ.’ “His life changed when we fought, and my life changed when we fought. I beat him; he is the one who beat me [in the rematch] Because I let him. I let him beat me in the second fight because I was stupid; I should have taken that fight more seriously.”

He said he is not trying to pressure Joshua into a fight. “I’m not going to go out there and force him or push him. But I think it will be a good fight for both of us to come back. But I will definitely beat him 100 percent.” Ruiz said he wants the fight to happen at the right time.

Revisiting the battles of 2019

The rivalry began in June 2019 at Madison Square Garden. Ruiz entered as a late replacement and knocked down Joshua several times before stopping him in the seventh round. The result gave Ruiz the heavyweight title and marked one of the biggest upsets in boxing.

They met again in Saudi Arabia in December 2019. Joshua used a different approach, controlling the 12-round fight to win by decision and regain his belt. Ruiz later admitted that he was in no shape for that fight. “I weighed about 300 pounds, so I was out of shape, and yet I lasted 12 rounds. So, I think when people saw the fight they didn’t see the best in me.”

Ruiz said he wanted another chance to improve on that performance. “I want to redeem myself. I gave my rematch.”

Ruiz reflects on discipline and Joshua’s form

Ruiz said discipline has been important to furthering his career. “Right now, I think patience is key, and I just have to stay motivated and stay disciplined. If you’re not disciplined, shit’s going to happen. And that’s what I wasn’t with AJ.”

Since the rematch, Ruiz has wins against Chris Arreola and Luis Ortiz and a draw with Jarrell Miller. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua has suffered setbacks, including defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. Ruiz said fighters should not overlook Joshua.

“I think a lot of fighters look at [Joshua’s] The past and the things he’s been through and the losses he’s suffered, but every warrior can save himself. Anyone can come back stronger.” He also told about Joshua’s style. “Sometimes, when he’s fighting, I think he’s too cautious… I think his instincts are what let him down sometimes.”

Ruiz said he will remain patient while waiting for a possible third fight. “I hope it’s good, so we can do a trilogy.”

Anthony Joshua rejects Tyson Fury’s ringside callout after comeback

Tyson Fury returned to the ring on Saturday night with a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The fight was Fury’s first appearance since announcing his retirement. The judges scored the fight 120-108, 120-108 and 119-109 after 12 rounds.

Moments after the result, Fury focused on Anthony Joshua, who was sitting at ringside. Fury called him out in front of the crowd and demanded immediate answers about a possible fight. Joshua did not enter the ring. Instead, he responded from his seat when approached, leading to a tense interaction that immediately gained attention inside the stadium and online.

Tyson Fury takes control of the fight and issues a direct challenge

Fury took control of the fight from the early stages. He used his reach and movement to manage distance and limit Makhmudov’s offense. He remained disciplined and avoided heavy exchanges. By the middle rounds, Fury maintained a steady pace and landed clean shots while maintaining control.

The judges reflected that control in their scorecards. Two judges gave every round to Fury, while the third gave one round to Makhmudov. The result gave Fury a clear victory in his return bout.

After the decision, Fury took the microphone and addressed Joshua directly. “I want to give you the fight you’ve all been waiting for. I challenge you next, Anthony Joshua. Do you accept my challenge?” The crowd reacted as Fury continued to press for a reaction. She called again and asked Joshua to answer immediately.

Anthony Joshua responded from ringside and refused to face off

Joshua remained at ringside and did not step into the ring. When he was asked for his reaction, he gave a calm statement. “Tyson, you’re trying to get attention,” Joshua said. “I’ve never had a problem getting in the ring with you. I beat you when we were little, and after seeing you tonight, I’ll do it again.”

He continued by saying that he would not be directed in public. “You don’t tell me what to do. I’ve been in this fight for years. When you’re ready, meet me with your terms. I’m in control.”

Joshua also explained how the potential fight would be arranged. “I’m here to fight, not get attention. Contracts will be sent out, we’ll do everything properly, and you’ll probably see us in the ring next time.” His response ended the possibility of an immediate in-ring confrontation.

Focus the conversation on a possible fight

The exchange highlighted the ongoing situation between the two giants. Fury and Joshua have been linked to a possible fight for several years. Both fighters have held world titles and remain dominant figures in the division.

Recent talks have boxing officials and promoters working towards a possible event in late 2026. Turki Alalshikh is one of the people involved in the discussions about the major matches. Fury has said he is ready to move forward, while Joshua’s comments indicate he expects formal talks to take place before any agreement is reached.

Saturday’s events combined activities inside the ring with events outside it. Fury scored a clear victory and used the moment to call for a bigger fight. Joshua responded by outlining his position and the process he expects to follow. The situation is now moving towards talks as both sides consider the next steps.

Eddie Hearn predicts Anthony Joshua will stop Deontay Wilder in 3 rounds ahead of Tyson Fury fight

Eddie Hearn has made another strong statement about the heavyweight division, this time outlining a clear path for Anthony Joshua’s return. Speaking to FightHubTV, the Matchroom boxing promoter said Joshua could face Deontay Wilder ahead of a planned bout with Tyson Fury in late 2026.

The comments come as Joshua continues to recover from a serious car accident in Nigeria in late 2025. He is working through rehabilitation and recently resumed light training. Hearn’s comments set up a possible schedule that includes a return fight, which would be followed by one of the biggest bouts in modern heavyweight boxing.

Eddie Hearn outlines Anthony Joshua’s comeback plan

Hearn explained that Joshua will need a fight before he can step into the ring with Fury. He pointed to the time Joshua spent away from boxing due to injury and recovery.

“We need a warm-up fight before we fight Tyson Fury because AJ is recovering from the accident, he’s rehabbing his body etc,” Hearn said. “We’ll have Deontay Wilder as that warm-up fighter and then we’ll fight Tyson Fury in December.”

Joshua has not fought since the accident which injured his ribs and required several months of physical therapy. His return to full training is scheduled for 2026 gradually. Hearn’s plan reflects a structured approach, starting with a fight against a known opponent before moving to a bigger event.

Hearn predicts quick stoppage against Deontay Wilder

Hearn also made a clear prediction of how the fight between Joshua and Wilder will end. He said Joshua would stop Wilder within three rounds.

Hearn said, “They sent your soul into retirement. I was sitting there in the front row.” “Well, I respect Wilder, and I think he looked a lot better. But let me tell you because I was six feet away… Anthony Joshua will go through Deontay Wilder within three rounds.”

Wilder, a former WBC heavyweight champion, remains active in the division. He is known for his knockout power and has scored several stoppage victories during his career. According to Hearn, his recent performances have seen adjustments in pace and timing.

This fight could lead to Joshua vs. Fury

The fight between Joshua and Wilder will carry extra significance because of their history. The two fighters have been linked for years, but past negotiations did not lead to a fight. Issues relating to purse division and promotion terms delayed any agreement during their championship run.

If the fight takes place in 2026, it would serve as an important step towards a meeting with Fury. Joshua and Fury have also been linked to a potential matchup for several years, but scheduling and other factors have prevented it from happening.

Hearn’s timeline suggests Joshua could return in the summer, face Wilder and then move on to fight Fury in December. Fury remains one of the leading names in the heavyweight division, and a bout with Joshua would be a huge event.

Wilder’s participation will depend on the terms of the agreement between the two camps. They have topped the division and faced major opponents over the last decade. The outcome of any proposed fight will dictate the direction of the heavyweight scene.

Tyson Fury calls out Anthony Joshua for long-awaited mega fight before the end of 2026

The long wait for a decisive all-British heavyweight showdown is finally about to end. Tyson Fury has made his position clear ahead of his return to the ring and has called on Anthony Joshua to fight next and avoid any further delays.

Fury is due to fight Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11, but his focus has already moved beyond that fight. After years of failed negotiations, injuries and unexpected losses that disrupted plans, Fury is finally pushing for the fight if both fighters come through in their next bouts.

Tyson Fury urges Anthony Joshua to start fighting now

Fury didn’t hold back when discussing the long-delayed matchup. He pointed to seemingly repeated failures that have stalled the fight over the past decade.

“This fight was supposed to happen a number of times over the last 10 years, but then in the middle of the fight someone gets into another fight, and someone drops out or gets injured,” Fury told ESPN.

He made it clear that he did not want history to repeat itself.

“I think we should get this fight going as soon as possible, just in case something happens in between. The problem is that anything can go wrong in heavyweight boxing; there are no easy fights. And if you get upset, it’s over, that’s it. I want the next fight, and I’m sure AJ feels the same way.”

Fury also discussed the possibility of Joshua facing Deontay Wilder instead. His attitude was straightforward.

“Forget Wilder, the man is a shell of himself; forget anyone else.”

The message is clear. Fury wants no delays, no interim fights, and no distractions from what he sees as the biggest fight available in the division.

The focus will be on Makhmudov before the talks begin

Despite his comments about Joshua, Fury is still preparing for his upcoming fight against Makhmudov. This bout marks his return after a 16-month break from competition.

“Let me go until Saturday, and then we’ll fight before the end of the year. I’ve been out of the ring longer than that [Joshua] Has been out of the ring for 16 months. Let’s do this, let’s dance.”

Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, also confirmed that the immediate focus remains on the scheduled fight.

“We don’t talk about that business until this fight is over, then we go right back in and talk about business.”

Brown said that once the fight is completed and Fury is successfully presented, discussions will begin without delay.

“Once the fight is over and Tyson wins and everybody’s happy, his family is happy, and he’s happy, let’s move on. Let’s watch the fight. I like Anthony Joshua. I like AJ, I like Tyson Fury. We’re Team Fury.”

Heavyweight division waiting to ramp up momentum for showdown

A potential fight between Fury and Joshua has been discussed for years. Both fighters held world titles at different times, but timing issues have consistently prevented a deal.

Brown believes the fight will happen, only the details remain to be sorted out.

“Let’s watch this fight. The World Cup final of boxing. It’s bigger than that… so let’s watch it. I know where my money is on.”

He said that now the main question is about time and place and not whether there will be a fight or not.

“I just feel like we’re going to see it. It’s not a question of when, it’s a question of how and when. Where will it happen?”

Possible venues have already been discussed, including large stadiums in the United Kingdom. Hopefully the scale of the event will match the long anticipation surrounding it.

Fury enters his next fight with a record of 34-2-1, while Makhmudov is at 21-2. Joshua has not fought since December 2024 but has been linked to other potential bouts.

If all parties move forward without setbacks, the long-awaited clash between Fury and Joshua could finally take place before the end of the year.

Indianapolis Colts GM suggests team could make surprising Anthony Richardson decision

When the Indianapolis Colts signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a multi-year extension, it was seen as a foregone conclusion that former first-round pick Anthony Richardson would be traded this offseason. Now it appears another option is on the table.

Speaking to reporters at the NFL’s annual league meetings this week, Colts general manager Chris Ballard said there is a “scenario” where the team keeps Richardson through the 2026 season.

RELATED: Indianapolis Colts urged to trade for Pro Bowl edge rusher

“There’s definitely a scenario there. He’s a good guy and he’s talented. I mean, I still want good for Anthony, man. I still think he’s got a lot of potential in him. He’s had a lot of bad luck, but I still think Anthony has a lot of potential and he’s maturing and growing.”

Indianapolis Colts GM Chris Ballard if the team can keep Anthony Richardson

Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, appeared in only two games with 14 combined offensive snaps last season. In October, he fractured his orbital bone during pregame warmups when a resistance band he was using broke and hit him in the face.

At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, the Colts gave Richardson’s agent permission to make a trade. Various reports have linked the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers to the dual-threat quarterback.

However, Kansas City has acquired quarterback Justin Fields from the New York Jets. Meanwhile, the Packers are among the teams interested in signing free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins to serve as a backup next season.

The trade market for Richardson may not be as strong as his representation expected, or the Indianapolis club may not be satisfied with the draft-pick compensation the club is offering for him. With Jones recovering from his Achilles tendon, it’s obviously possible that the Colts keep Richardson through training camp and see if he can be the starting option until Jones is ready.

Anthony Edwards will return soon from knee injury

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been without Anthony Edwards for the last four games due to a knee injury. While he will miss his fifth straight contest on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets, Edwards has received some good news regarding his progress.

During an appearance on “NBA Countdown” on ESPN, Shams Charania claimed that the Timberwolves are evaluating the 24-year-old guard on a day-to-day basis. The earliest Edwards could return is Saturday, when Minnesota faces the Detroit Pistons, or Monday against the Dallas Mavericks.

“I’m told the Timberwolves will evaluate Anthony Edwards day-to-day moving forward,” Charania said. “So, he could return as soon as Saturday’s game against the Pistons at home or Monday at Dallas.”

If the four-time All-Star can return by Saturday or Monday, that would give Edwards eight to nine games for the playoffs. The Timberwolves are fifth in the Western Conference and are guaranteed to at least make the play-in tournament.

If Anthony Edwards returns, he could seriously help his team clinch a top-three seed. But only time will tell how the playoff race will play out in the final stretch of the regular season.

The six-year veteran has played in 58 games for the Timberwolves this season. In those contests, Edwards is averaging 29.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He’s hitting those averages while shooting 49.2% from the field and 40.2% from beyond the three-point line.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves will take on the Rockets on Wednesday evening and the game will tip off at 9:30 pm EST. The club will also continue to monitor Edwards’ knee before determining his eventual return.

Oleksandr Usyk backs Anthony Joshua’s comeback, calls former opponent “my brother”

Oleksandr Usyk has offered strong public support for Anthony Joshua, describing his former opponent as a brother and backing his return to the top of the heavyweight division. The undisputed champion shared his thoughts in a recent interview, where he talked about their growing relationship outside the ring. The message comes at a crucial moment for Joshua, who is working through recent defeats and personal challenges as he aims to rebuild his career.

Oleksandr Usyk made his stance clear as he reflected on how their bond has changed. “I showed Anthony my national food, my culture, Ukrainian music and my church. My church is a very important place for me. Anthony liked Ukrainian food, especially borscht. I really appreciate that he came here. Now he is like a big brother to me. He is not my rival or rival. He is my partner, my brother.”

Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua’s relationship has changed beyond rivalry

The two fighters faced off in back-to-back title bouts in 2021 and 2022, with Usyk winning both bouts. Since then, their relationship has grown beyond competition. Usyk now describes Joshua as a person close to him, sharing regular communications and time outside of boxing.

He cited Joshua’s character and work ethic as major reasons for his respect. “I know Anthony is a very kind person. He is well-mannered, very hard-working and very smart. He is a good guy. Mentally, I think he is good because we talk every day. We train twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.”

Usyk supports Joshua’s mentality during difficult times

Joshua’s recent period has included setbacks in the ring and personal losses. Usyk addressed this directly by focusing on flexibility rather than titles. He said that despite not holding the belt at this stage of his career, Joshua still meets his definition of a champion.

“Anthony is a champion. He may not have the belts right now, but that doesn’t matter to me. A champion is someone who never gives up. Life brings tests. God tests me and he tests Anthony too. God has a plan.”

Heavyweight comeback remains the goal for Anthony Joshua

Usyk also teased what could be next for Joshua in the heavyweight division. He pointed to the possibility of a return to the top level in the coming years based on current work and mentality.

“Maybe in 2026 or 2027, Anthony can become the undisputed champion. It’s possible. He can do it.”

The comments have attracted the attention of the entire boxing sector, with fans and celebrities of the sport noting the level of respect between the two fighters. The clip has spread widely on social media, with many highlighting Usyk’s tone of support as Joshua rebuilds.

Their story now reflects much more than the feuds of the past. It shows how competing at the highest level can create long-term respect and bonding, even in a sport defined by rivalry.

Kevin Durant edges out Anthony Edwards, Luka Doncic on list of next greatest players of all time

On Saturday, Kevin Durant passed Michael Jordan and is now fifth on the all-time scoring list – a huge accomplishment for the future Hall of Famer and arguably the best pure scorer in NBA history. But the Houston Rockets star is still lagging in scoring points, especially if Monday night is any indication. Despite the Houston Rockets’ 132–124 loss to the Chicago Bulls, Durant once again dominated and recorded 40 points in his team’s failed comeback bid.

Before everything is said and done in Durant’s career, it is very likely that he will also surpass Kobe Bryant’s all-time scoring tally, which would put him in fourth place on the all-time scoring list. If he continues to play at a high level for three more seasons, he could even surpass Karl Malone.

But the Rockets star knows his spot on the all-time scoring list is not secure. In fact, he’s celebrating players like Luka Doncic and Anthony Edwards and believes they are on their way to eventually catching him.

“Sooner than that. There’s a lot of people in the way,” Durant said in an appearance on Boardroom Talks. “They hit the same marks I hit that time.”

Indeed, Doncic and Edwards have been scoring machines early in their careers, and they show no signs of slowing down. The former, in particular, has been on a heater lately, even dropping 60 points in a recent win over the Miami Heat.

Now the goal of the next generation is to stay healthy. Soft tissue injuries are more serious than ever. Actually, Edwards is currently suffering from knee problems.

But Durant has missed significant time in his career; He suffered a foot injury during his OKC days, in 2019 he missed the entire 2019-20 season, and he has also faced some injury problems over the past few seasons. But he’s still racking up points – leaving a legacy he hopes will do just that.

“I hope I made the same impact on the game,” Durant said.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gets ‘clear cut’ MVP endorsement from Carmelo Anthony

As the NBA season approaches, there is intense discussion about who will take home the 2025-2026 MVP trophy. Lakers star Luka Doncic has emerged as a leading contender as the Lakers begin a nine-game winning streak. Jaylen Brown has also received praise for how he has led the Celtics’ success prior to Jayson Tatum’s return from an Achilles injury.

But Hall of Famer and NBC Sports analyst Carmelo Anthony believes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the “clear-cut” favorite for MVP this season.

“The players know who the real MVP is… To me, it’s obvious. I think it’s Shai… This is the best team in the NBA, best player on the team. It’s hard to argue. The guy is averaging 30 and 9. You know what I mean? When you see an MVP, you know.”

gilgeous-alexander the engine is For the Thunder as they have faced some injury challenges this year. He averaged 31.6 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 6.6 assists per game on 55.3% shooting. He is also displaying exceptional defense, averaging 1.4 steals per game. Oklahoma City is still on top of the Western Conference and NBA landscape at 56–15. Alexander too

But winning the MVP trophy is all about moments, and for top MVP contenders Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, they can create a moment by playing against each other in April. The Thunder and Lakers will play on April 2 and April 7, which could make for an interesting look at who will ultimately take home one of the NBA’s greatest accolades.

Tyson Fury opens up on possible super fights with Jon Jones, Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury is set to return to boxing on April 11, 2026, when he faces Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The fight will stream on Netflix and will be his first meeting after consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, including a rematch in December 2024.

Fury, now 37, announced his retirement shortly after that defeat but decided to return 15 months later. The former heavyweight champion is also thinking beyond boxing. He has talked about a possible fight with former UFC champion Jon Jones and shared thoughts on his long-term future in the sport.

His latest comments, made in an interview with SportsBible, cover his opponent’s choices, motivation and what could happen next.

Tyson Fury talks about Makhmudov fight and the possibility of Anthony Joshua

Fury said the choice of opponent was deliberate. He chose Makhmudov, a heavy puncher with a strong knockout record, to properly prepare himself for a comeback fight.

“It requires someone of that caliber.”

Makhmudov has won 19 of his 23 professional bouts by knockout. His only losses came against Guido Vianello and Agit Kabayel, but he has since picked up wins against Ricardo Brown and David Allen.

If Fury wins, the focus is expected to shift to the long-discussed fight with Anthony Joshua. The British heavyweight is also set to make a comeback this summer, according to Matchroom Boxing CEO Frank Smith.

“If a fight can be fought, let’s start it like Donkey Kong.”

Fury confirmed that he has not spoken with Joshua about a possible bout.

“I have no contact with him.”

Fury outlines post-boxing life and ongoing inspiration

Fury said he still wonders what life will be like when he retires, but made it clear that boxing remains central to him.

“My true love has always been boxing, and it has always been my passion.”

“So until this happens no more… I can go into TV full-time to do Netflix and s***.”

When asked about his motivation, Fury said that he does not need to fight, but continues because he enjoys it.

“I’m in a position where I don’t need to box. I don’t need to do anything. I can drink beer all day if I want. But I’m not interested. I love boxing. I’ve always loved boxing.”

He said he hoped to remain in the sport for the next several years.

“I’ll probably keep doing it well into my late 40s. It’s something I love. I’ve tried to walk away from it many times, and I’ve failed. It’s an addiction. Boxing is an addiction.”

Fury discusses MMA interest and Jon Jones potential

Fury also spoke about his past interest in going into mixed martial arts. Efforts to make that switch have so far not worked, he said.

“I’ve tried to do it about ten times.”

“But for some reason or the other, that has not happened. [It would take] The right amount of money. But it always requires cold, hard cash, baby.”

He then talked about facing Jon Jones, naming the former UFC champion as a possible opponent.

“You never know,” Fury said. “Anyone can beat anyone that day. Nothing is impossible, right?”

Anthony Davis’ hand injury to be reevaluated before season ends

The Washington Wizards have acquired two stars this season, but only one has played for them. Four-time All-Star guard Trae Young (quad) has played five games, while five-time All-NBA big man Anthony Davis (hand) has been out since the Wizards met the Dallas Mavericks in February.

Washington released an update on Davis via social media on Friday.

“Davis, who is out with ligament damage in his left hand, was re-evaluated on Thursday by Dr. Steven Shinn of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,” the organization said. “It was determined that Davis’ recovery is progressing positively, but the volar plate tissue in his left hand has not completely healed. Davis will continue conservative treatment and will continue to pursue his basketball activity as tolerated, he will be reevaluated at the end of the month, and an update will be provided at that time.”

According to ESPN, Davis has not played since January 8, when he injured his hand guarding Utah Jazz big man Lauri Markkanen in the Mavericks’ 116–114 loss. This occurred the day after the Wizards agreed to acquire Young from the Atlanta Hawks and they agreed to terms with Dallas for Davis on February 4.

Washington sent the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 2026 first-round pick, the Golden State Warriors’ top-20-protected 2030 first-rounder, and three second-rounders along with forward Khris Middleton, guard AJ Johnson, guard Malachi Branham and big man Marvin Bagley III. The Mavericks also traded guards Jaden Hardee, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum along with Davis. Via Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Wizards waived Exum and Russell will not report to the team.

This story is being updated.

Trae Young dishes on March Madness, Anthony Davis adjusts to Wizards

Washington Wizards star guard Trae Young has been busy this past year. The four-time All-Star announced that he has taken on the role of assistant general manager for Oklahoma men’s basketball in March 2025, the program for which he played as a freshman in the 2017–18 season. He pledged to donate $1 million to the program and help with both high school and transfer portal prospect evaluations, fundraising and player contract negotiations.

Since then, Young has rehabilitated his quad and knee injuries, as well as uprooted his life. The Atlanta Hawks traded the 27-year-old to the Wizards in January, marking the first time he has changed teams since the Hawks drafted him at No. 5 overall in 2018. He has only played five games since then due to injury, but he is still effective for his new team.

Young is averaging 15.2 points on 59.5% shooting (42.9% 3-point) with 6.2 assists against 2.6 turnovers in 20.8 minutes. The former All-NBA honoree most recently sat out Monday’s 125-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors with a quad contusion and will not play Thursday against the Detroit Pistons.

Additionally, Young has signed a new partnership with Sling TV for March Madness once the 2026 NCAA Tournament begins. The promotion, titled “When Underdogs Win, You Win”, offers fans a 1-day Sling Pass for $1 if any player from the 12 to 16 seed advances to the Sweet Sixteen in the men’s or women’s tournament. To qualify, fans must purchase a 1, 3 or 7-day pass between Thursday and Sunday. No. 12 High Point’s 83-82 win over No. 5 Wisconsin in the first round is its first major upset of the year.

Young is a suitable promotional partner, as he played for No. 10 Oklahoma against No. 7 Rhode Island in the first round of the 2018 tournament. The Sooners lost 83–78 despite the 2018 NCAA scoring champion and assist leader having 28 points (9-18 FG, 3-9 3-point) and seven assists, ending his collegiate playing career.

Oklahoma was the first team eliminated from the tournament field this season, the first with Young as assistant general manager. The Sooners went 8–3 in their final 11 games in the SEC, which sent 10 teams to March Madness, but it was not enough. The program qualifies as an “underdog” as it has never won a national title and has won only two tournament games since 2018.

Young spoke with ClutchPoints about this, his advice for NCAA Tournament players, fellow Wizards and 2012 NCAA champion Anthony Davis, and more on Wednesday.

Trae Young Q&A

Joshua Valdez: So first of all, who have your eyes set on this year’s March Madness? Can a Dalit run?

Trae Young: Oh, I just don’t have a team. There are some guys and some teams that I look at. I mean, that’s a lot of underdogs. But a lot of the good teams are really good, and certainly even the weaker teams have to come along to pull off some upsets.

Comment: Young singled out High Point, No. 14 North Dakota State and No. 13 Miami (OH) women’s team as underdogs who could make the Sweet Sixteen on his Instagram.

Joshua Valdez: Speaking of underdogs, how did your partnership with Sling TV come about?

Trae Young: Yeah, I mean, I think that was a part of it. We talked, and I feel like growing up being an underdog and just partnering with Sling and doing this, and especially during March Madness, giving people a chance to get more involved, I think it was a no-brainer. So that’s really great.

Joshua Valdez: What do you think is special about the tournament?

Trae Young: I just think it feels like a one-game tournament. This is what makes the anticipation for each game so exciting, as the underdogs can win the game on any given night, so you always have to be prepared as you want to see upsets.

Joshua Valdez: Obviously, you played at OU for a year. How have you grown as a player and a person since being there?

Trae Young: Just understanding that you have to take every moment seriously and you never know when you will get that next moment again. Going into college, I thought I would get a few chances at tournaments, but unfortunately I only had one. Being able to only play one game in the tournament sucked, but experiencing the spirit of March Madness was crazy.

Joshua Valdez: Based on your experience, what advice do you have for players heading into March Madness this year?

Trae Young: Never take the moment for granted, be as prepared as you can be, and just go out there and enjoy. Lead by doing your best, don’t look ahead and think about what’s going to happen in the future, but just be present in the present. ‘Cause you never know when your last game will be in the tournament.

Joshua Valdez: Going back to OU for a second, I know you’ve been helping them as an assistant GM. How’s it going so far?

Trae Young: Really good, really good. It is sad that we were the first team that could not make it to the tournament. And I really felt like we should have done that, especially the way we finished the season and the number of games we won on this tough schedule. But it was good. It’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to make it this year, but that’s okay. We will be back.

Joshua Valdez: Anything behind the scenes of college basketball or anything new you’ve learned about the game since you took on this role?

Trae Young: I mean, these players are getting paid. These players are getting paid these days. I think it’s a different thing and you have to find kids that are willing to work. I mean, you want to find kids who are here for the love of the game more than the money. This is one of my main things. That’s the difference between when I was in school and now.

Joshua Valdez: Finally, you’re now on the Wizards with Anthony Davis. Obviously, he was a collegiate star who went on to achieve great things in the NBA, just like you. He hasn’t played with you guys yet, but what’s it like being around him?

Trae Young: Yeah, I mean, obviously, he’s really good. Eddie has been great so far. He has a lot of knowledge of basketball and has seen a lot of the game, especially winning a championship as a freshman at the college level. [at Kentucky]And all the accolades she has earned over the years. It’s definitely nice to have a guy in the locker room that you can look at and understand what he brings every night, because you’ve seen what he’s done on TV and over the years.

Carmelo Anthony corrects Tracy McGrady on calling LaMelo Ball ‘Melo’

The Charlotte Hornets resumed their winning ways with a blowout win over the Miami Heat on Tuesday evening. The win allowed Charlotte to hold on to the No. 10 position in the East, and LaMelo Ball was dominant, scoring 30 points with 13 assists in the win.

After the game, the NBA on NBC crew detailed some of the team’s successes and Tracy McGrady called Ball “Melo”. One guy who wasn’t involved was Carmelo Anthony Also a part of the broadcast.

Older fans in the NBA have long sought to stop younger fans from referring to LaMelo Ball as simply “Melo”, noting that Carmelo Anthony’s name was shortened during his Hall of Fame career.

While he may need a new nickname, Ball has certainly taken his game to another level this season, continuing to extend his shooting range, showing more commitment on defense, and taking advantage of the plethora of weapons that Charlotte has put around him on offense, including Rookie of the Year candidate Kon Nueppel.

Now that all of these pieces are starting to fall into place, the Hornets are playing some of the best basketball in the NBA, and head coach Charles Lee has done an impressive job of helping bring everything together.

Nevertheless, due to their struggles early in the season, it will be difficult for the Hornets to climb out of the play-in zone in the Eastern Conference, and it is looking increasingly likely that Charlotte will have to win two straight elimination games to make their first playoff appearance in ten years.

The Hornets next face off at home against the Orlando Magic on Thursday evening.

Anthony Edwards will miss several weeks with a new knee injury.

Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards recently underwent an MRI for what the team was labeling as “right knee soreness,” and the imaging revealed swelling in the right knee.

As a result, Edwards will miss at least the team’s next four games and will be reevaluated in 1-2 weeks. The Timberwolves announced Tuesday that further updates on the star’s progress will be provided as they become available.

This is a significant blow for Edwards and the Timberwolves, especially considering the team has been struggling for some time.

Since winning five straight games in March, Minnesota has lost four of its last five games, including a 116-103 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

Edwards will now miss games against the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics before the teams possibly provide another update on his status.

Although the Timberwolves have gone 6–4 in their 10 games without Edwards this season, all six of their wins have come against teams with losing records. Five of Minnesota’s next six games will be against teams currently in playoff position or in the play-in region of their conference standings.

Without Edwards, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch will now turn to Julius Randle to lead the Wolves without Edwards on the court, and newly acquired Ayo Dosunmu will see an increased role in the backcourt alongside swingman Donte DiVincenzo.

However, Edwards’ production cannot be replicated, as his All-NBA-like season may now be in jeopardy.

In 58 games this season, Edwards has averaged 29.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, while shooting 49.2 percent from the floor and 40.2 percent from 3-point range.

To qualify for end-of-season honors and accolades like the All-NBA teams, Edwards must play in at least seven of the Wolves’ final 14 games of the regular season. If Edwards is unable to return when he is reevaluated by medical personnel next week, he will cut it close to the 65-game minimum for awards.

The Timberwolves are currently 41-27 on the season, two games above the play-in zone in the Western Conference standings before Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

Is Anthony Edwards playing tonight? Timberwolves vs Suns injury report

The Minnesota Timberwolves face the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night and Anthony Edwards is once again at the center of the injury report. The Timberwolves have ruled out Edwards because of right knee soreness, putting the focus on Minnesota’s franchise star as the team looks to bounce back from a recent loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Minnesota enters the matchup at 41-27, No. 6 in the Western Conference. The Suns, meanwhile, are 39-29, in 7th place in the West and looking to end a two-game losing streak. With both teams battling for a playoff position, Edwards’ absence could significantly impact the outcome.

Edwards has been the focal point of Minnesota’s offense this season. Through 58 games, he is averaging 29.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 49.2 percent from the field. He is also converting an efficient 40.2 percent from three-point range and 79.6 percent from the free-throw line. Additionally, the All-Star guard contributed 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per game, showcasing his two-way impact.

When Edwards is on the floor, the Timberwolves operate with far more offensive firepower. His ability to create shots from all three levels and take over possession late in the game makes him one of the most dynamic scorers in the league.

Anthony Edwards injury status vs. Suns

The Timberwolves’ injury report includes several additional names. Additionally, Jon Beringer, Enrique Freeman, Julian Phillips and Zion Pullin are out on G League assignment. Meanwhile, Naz Reed is listed as questionable with a right shoulder injury.

As far as Phoenix is concerned, the Suns have not yet submitted their official injury report.

Still, Edwards’ absence remains the biggest story in this matchup. Minnesota will try to regroup without its leading scorer. Additionally, Phoenix will look to take advantage and break their losing streak.

So, when the question comes whether Anthony Edwards is playing tonight against the Suns, the answer is no. Pain in his right knee will sideline him. As a result, the Timberwolves will need to adjust. This remains an important Western Conference matchup.

Anthony Edwards disappointed in loss to Thunder, compares defense to ‘AAU’

Anthony Edwards was critical of himself after the Minnesota Timberwolves struggled in their 116-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday afternoon.

In 37 minutes of action, Edwards finished with a stat line of 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. However, he committed six turnovers while shooting 6 of 17 from the field, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc and 5 of 10 from the free-throw line.

Edwards reflected on the loss with reporters in the locker room after the game. He blamed himself for the mistakes he made against the Oklahoma City defense, including turnovers and a lack of shooting efficiency.

Edwards said, “I had a lot of turnovers myself. I didn’t make enough shots. I don’t think it had anything to do with my team. Especially myself. I had a lot of turnovers and didn’t make enough shots. It’s just that simple. Like I said it’s an AAU defense… it’s on me. I know what they’re going to do defensively, so it’s on me to turn the ball over.”

Anthony Edwards is generally prominent as one of the top stars in the NBA. However, his troubles against an elite Thunder team will be a lesson for him and the Timberwolves moving forward.

Four players scored in double figures for Minnesota during the loss, including Edwards. Julius Randle led the team with a stat line of 32 points, seven rebounds, six assists and one block. He made 11 of 18 shots overall, including 3 of 5 from downtown and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. Ayo Dosunmu was next with 18 points and four rebounds, while Donte DiVincenzo provided 16 points and nine rebounds.

Minnesota fell to a 41–27 record on the season, finishing sixth in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers while trailing the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets.

The Timberwolves will look to bounce back in their next game at home. They will host the Suns as tip-off takes place on March 17 at 8pm ET.

Is Anthony Edwards playing today? Timberwolves vs Thunder injury report

The Minnesota Timberwolves face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday in a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals. Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is on the injury report again with right knee soreness.

Here’s everything we know about Edwards’ playing status.

Anthony Edwards’ game status against the Thunder

Edwards has been dealing with a long-standing knee problem but hasn’t missed any time. The Timberwolves star was also listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, but he played and finished with 42 points in the loss. The knee certainly didn’t bother him much in that 127-117 win.

Edwards told The Athletic’s Sam Amick after the win over the Warriors that he’s fine, and Timberwolves insider John Krawczynski of The Athletic expects him to play in Sunday’s game. Given the high-profile opponent on national TV, it’s a good bet that Edwards will suit up.

Minnesota is also vying for a spot in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture. The Timberwolves are 41–26, good for fifth place in the West. The Wolves are one game behind the third-seeded Los Angeles Lakers, half a game behind the Houston Rockets and half a game ahead of the Denver Nuggets. Perhaps most importantly, Minnesota is two games ahead of the seventh-seeded Phoenix Suns.

Edwards is having another standout season, averaging a career-high 29.7 points while posting career-best shooting percentages of 49.4% overall and 40.2% from 3-point range. So, when the question comes whether Anthony Edwards is playing against the Thunder today, the answer is probably yes.

Anthony Edwards drops 42 in blowout win over Warriors

Anthony Edwards stole the net with a stellar performance in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 127-117 win over the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.

Edwards is playing the sixth season of his NBA career with the Timberwolves. He has exceeded expectations as the first overall pick in the 2020 draft, shining as one of the best young stars the league has to offer.

Edwards continues to improve in Year 6 as he has kept the Timberwolves in a strong playoff race. In Minnesota’s game against Golden State, he dominated the entire 37 minutes of action.

Edwards produced a stellar stat line of 42 points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. He made 13 of 22 shots from the field, including 4 of 9 from beyond the arc and 10 of 12 from the free-throw line.

Anthony Edwards, how the Timberwolves played against the Warriors

Anthony Edwards was too much for the Warriors to handle, leading the Timberwolves to a solid win on the road. Golden State was competitive despite missing Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, but Minnesota beat them with a remarkably efficient offense.

Seven players, including Edwards, scored in double figures for Minnesota in the win. Rudy Gobert came in with a strong performance of 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. He shot 5 of 5 overall and 8 of 10 from the charity stripe. Jaden McDaniels was next with 15 points, Naz Reed and Ayo Dosunmu each scored 12 points, Bones Hyland had 11 points, while Julius Randle provided 10 points and four rebounds.

Minnesota improved to a 41–26 record on the season and finished sixth in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers while trailing the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Timberwolves will remain on the road awaiting their next matchup. They will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder as tip-off takes place on March 15 at 1 pm ET.

Anthony Edwards, Ayo Dosunmu to play vs. Warriors

The Minnesota Timberwolves (40-26) have dropped to sixth place in the Western Conference after losing three consecutive games by at least 14 points. When Anthony Edwards and Ayo Dosunmu landed on the injury report before Friday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors (32-33), some fans believed West Coast’s problems could continue. Luckily, both players will be in action inside Chase Center, according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.

Edwards is dealing with right knee soreness, but will move on. Dosunmu missed Wednesday’s 153-128 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers with a thumb sprain, so it’s encouraging to know he’ll be on the floor for this contest. While it remains to be seen how effective these guards will be, this update is important.

The Wolves should theoretically do well against the shorthanded Warriors, but fans aren’t taking any capable opponent lightly just yet. Minnesota is just one game away from the NBA Play-In Tournament, with the Phoenix Suns applying the pressure from the No. 7 seed. Although Chris Finch’s group has overcome challenging situations before, no one wants to play an extra game in this tough conference.

Conserving energy may be necessary in potential postseason meetings with the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs or Denver Nuggets. Therefore, it is important for the Timberwolves to take care of business in the final 16 games of the regular season. They can’t accomplish that task unless their franchise keystone is healthy.

Anthony Edwards is scoring a career-high 29.4 points per contest while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from behind the 3-point line. He’s getting better year after year and climbing the ladder of NBA superstars. When a two-time All-NBA Second-Team selection is on the final stretch, Minnesota can compete with anyone. Edwards is “the guy” on this team, but Ayo Dosunmu is valuable in his own right.

Acquired in a trade with the Chicago Bulls, the 2021 second-round draft pick is able to ease the No. 5 offensive burden somewhat. He attacks the rim and plays with ferocity, making him a perfect fit for this Timberwolves team.

Edwards and Dosunmu will do their best to overcome any discomfort they are feeling in this matchup with the Warriors. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 pm ET.

Anthony Edwards’ late injury report raises doubts over addition

The Minnesota Timberwolves are in the midst of a tight Western Conference race, and every game will be important until the end of the season. Their next game will be against the Golden State Warriors, who are also alive in the West by being in the play-ins. Both teams are struggling to get seeded and are doing so while battling injuries.

As for the Timberwolves, they have been fairly healthy, but before their game, Anthony Edwards was added to the report with right knee soreness. It’s uncertain whether the injury is serious, but if so, he would likely have been listed as questionable or out.

Edwards still has a chance to suit up, and if he’s able to play, there’s no doubt he will. Plus, the Timberwolves don’t want to see him on the injury report at all, especially at this point in the season.

Edwards has been huge for the Timberwolves this season, as he is averaging a career-high 29.4 points per game. He is also shooting a career high from the three-point line at 40.2%.

Although Edwards is doing the best he can, the Timberwolves have still had times throughout the season when they have been very inconsistent. As far as a recent example goes, they are currently losing three games in a row and their defense is not playing well. They gave up 153 points to the Los Angeles Clippers, and in the game before that, they gave up 120 points to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The schedule will not be easy for the Timberwolves, as after the Warriors, they will have to face the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns.

If the Timberwolves ever need to try and lock down a lead, it should be now. With them being seeded sixth, there is a possibility they could reach the seventh seed, depending on what the Suns do the rest of the season.

Karl Anthony Towns lands on injury report vs. Pacers

The New York Knicks visit the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. Karl Anthony Towns’ name is on the injury report along with Josh Hart, with both players listed as questionable. Towns is dealing with bilateral knee injuries, while Hart is dealing with a left knee injury. The Knicks are hoping for a strong finish to the regular season as they look to add to their win column. Here’s everything we know about Karl Anthony Towns’ injury and his playing status against the Pacers.

Karl Anthony Towns’ injury status vs. Pacers

Given that Karl Anthony Towns’ injury report is questionable, it is difficult to predict whether he will be fit or not. He finished with 21 points on efficient 8-for-13 shooting, including three triples, seven rebounds and seven assists in Wednesday’s 134–117 win against the Utah Jazz.

After the Knicks lost on two consecutive nights against the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers, Towns was expecting a similar response from his team. However, due to a knee injury before Friday’s game against the Pacers, the Knicks could opt to sit him out.

Towns is averaging 20.0 points on 49.3% shooting, including 37% from behind the 3-point arc, 11.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the Knicks this season. For a team preparing for last year’s trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks will hope to find their momentum amid a strong finish heading into the playoffs.

Still, when it comes to the question of whether Karl Anthony Towns is playing against the Pacers tonight, the answer is probably.

Anthony Edwards drops truth bomb on Kawhi Leonard

The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered their third consecutive loss, falling to the Los Angeles Clippers 153–128. It was a bad night for the Wolves defense, as they allowed Kawhi Leonard to torture them for 45 points. After the game, Anthony Edwards spoke honestly about Leonard and his position in the NBA.

Edwards was amazed at Leonard and his ability to do anything to help the Clippers win. That was more than evident in this game, as the superstar helped the Clippers take a 38-27 lead after the first quarter. It was still a 12-point game in the third quarter. Still, the Clippers blew everything out of the water in the fourth and Leonard helped them get there. The situation got so bad that a fight broke out on the court between the Clippers and Timberwolves.

Edwards bounced back from a poor game against the Lakers, leading the Wolves with 36 points on 11 of 17 shooting, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc. However, no other starter scored above 11. Naz Reed had 18 points off the bench.

The Wolves shot 59.7% from the field, including 44% from the three-point line. However, they allowed the Clippers to shoot 63.4% from the floor, including 51.4% from beyond the arc. The Wolves turned the ball over 21 times, giving the Clippers many opportunities to take advantage.

Leonard’s 45 points came on 15 of 20 shooting, including 6 of 9 from the triple. Darius Garland helped with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting. Benedict Mathurin had 22 points off the bench on 5 of 10 shooting.

The Wolves fell in the standings for the second consecutive day, falling to sixth place in the Western Conference. They are 40-26 as they prepare for their next game, which will be against the Golden State Warriors on Friday in San Francisco.

Franz Wagner, Anthony Black injury updates indicate long-term absences

The Orlando Magic have struggled to stay healthy throughout the 2025-26 NBA season, and their troubles have continued into the final month before the playoffs. While Paolo Banchero is healthy and leading the team to success, Anthony Black and Franz Wagner have both been sidelined with no clear timetable for their eventual returns.

Black, who suffered a lower back strain two minutes into Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, missed the Magic’s next game on Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks because of this back strain. However, Orlando announced Tuesday morning that the breakout guard would be sidelined with a lateral abdominal muscle strain. An injury that was discovered after an MRI.

His comeback will depend on how he responds to treatment.

This isn’t the best news for the Magic, especially since Black has produced a stellar third season and taken over as one of the team’s key guards. Abdominal injuries usually cause players to miss at least a week of action, but can sometimes take longer depending on the severity of the injury.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recently missed nine games with an abdominal strain.

In 60 games this season, of which he has started 40, Black has averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, while shooting 45.1 percent from the floor. He currently ranks fourth on the team in scoring this season and third in total points (917).

As far as Wagner is concerned, his left ankle sprain has been the downfall of his season. Wagner initially suffered an injury on December 7 against the New York Knicks and subsequently missed 16 consecutive games. Although he returned to play overseas in his hometown of Berlin on January 15 and again in London, England on January 18, Wagner then missed nine consecutive games.

He has been sidelined indefinitely since Feb. 11 after suffering a concussion and needs extra time after the All-Star break to fully recover. Following a recent re-evaluation of his ankle, the Magic have determined that Wagner is making progress, but still needs time to recover and reach his response to treatment.

Wagner has played only 28 games this year due to ankle trouble, averaging 21.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

No timetable has been given for Black or Wagner’s return to play, meaning both players are likely to be out for at least another week to see how they handle their respective injuries and if they can begin to make progress in on-court workouts.

Despite these two injury concerns as the Magic enter the final stretch of the regular season, the team has been having a lot of success recently due to Banchero’s leadership.

Orlando has won four games in a row and six of its last eight games overall. Banchero is averaging 27.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game during the team’s four-game winning streak. This earned Banchero consideration for the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.

The Magic, who are 35-28 this season, will look to continue to maintain positive momentum and possibly move into the East playoff picture against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

As far as Black and Wagner are concerned, further updates on the injury status of both players will be provided by the team at a later date.

Anthony Edwards Reveals New ‘Bulldog’ Adidas AE 2 Release

The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently in third place in the Western Conference with a third-straight trip to the WCF, with franchise star Anthony Edwards determined to get his team to the NBA Finals. He has been one of the league’s most electric players since his arrival, but his stardom really took off while making waves as a Georgia Bulldog. Ahead of March Madness, the adidas AE 2 will be releasing in a “Bulldog” inspired colorway.

At Georgia, Edwards averaged 19.1 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 2.8 apg on 40% career shooting from the field in one season. He immediately became a household name, eventually becoming the first overall pick in the NBA draft. While Edwards has seen his best performances in a Minnesota uniform, his potential has been evident since his days as a Bulldog.

Debuting as the highly anticipated follow-up to the adidas AE 1 in October 2024, the AE 2 is already making waves with this upcoming colorway, just in time for the March Madness tournament. Edwards previously released the “Bulldog” AE1, so we can expect this black/red/white theme to continue moving forward.

Adidas AE 2 “Georgia Bulldogs”

The “Bulldog” colorway will feature a standard ensemble of Black/Red/Silver for an updated take on the Georgia-themed palette. The adidas AE 2 “Bulldog” is set to release on March 14th, 2026 for a standard retail tag of $130. The shoes will come in full adult sizes and will be made available through Adidas and select Adidas platforms.

Jamahl Mosley provides update on Anthony Black’s injury after Magic’s win vs. Timberwolves

The Orlando Magic picked up a decisive 119-92 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday afternoon, but the game also included a minor injury to guard Anthony Black. Following the win, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley provided an update on Black’s status during his postgame media availability.

Black was subbed out early after playing only two minutes in the contest. The third-year guard recorded one rebound and one steal during that brief span, while missing both of his free-throw attempts. Orlando later ruled him out for the remainder of the game with what the team described as a “lower back strain.”

Mosley indicated that the play in which Black initially suffered the injury occurred during a drive to the basket.

“I think when he went to the basket, I think he caught his shoulder on that play where they called the foul. I think it might bother him in a little different way. He’ll be tested and we’ll see how he progresses.”

Black recently suffered an injury shortly after returning from another concussion. The 22-year-old missed two games earlier in the week with a quad injury before rejoining the lineup.

Despite those setbacks, Black is enjoying the most productive season of his young career. In his third NBA season, he is averaging a career-high 15.5 points with 3.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He is shooting 45.1% from the field and 33.9% from 3-point range in 59 appearances, including 39 starts, while averaging 31.2 minutes per contest.

Black’s development has been a key component for Orlando as the team continues its push toward the postseason in the Eastern Conference. The Magic’s win over Minnesota marked their third consecutive win and helped improve their record to 34–28.

With the result, Orlando moved up to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference standings. The Magic are currently tied with the Philadelphia 76ers (34-28) for sixth place and just one game behind the fifth-seeded Toronto Raptors (35-27).

Orlando will look to continue its momentum when the road trip concludes Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. Milwaukee is entering the matchup with a 26-35 record and is currently on a four-game losing streak.

The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM ET. Orlando will likely keep a close eye on Black’s condition before the match as the team awaits further evaluation of the injury.

Anthony Black suffered an injury against the Timberwolves.

The Orlando Magic locked in a back-and-forth scoring celebration with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. But Tuesday saw Anthony Black lose for the second time after the Washington Wizards game.

Black had previously injured his quad before moving to Target Center. But what caused his latest injury?

This NBA injury is different in that Black has a lower back strain. Looks like he’s bound to sit for the rest of the afternoon.

Black played only two minutes on the floor and did not score a single point. He managed to pull down one rebound and also snatch a steal on defense. The guard also missed two free throw attempts from the white stripe.

Does Anthony Black have a history of injuries on the Magic?

Black has been on the injury report several times since March 2023. But that’s not limited to his time with the Magic.

He sprained his ankle while playing for Arkansas and aimed to deal with it during the game against Texas A&M. Black played just one season in Fayetteville and is testing the NBA Draft waters for 2023.

Orlando drafted him with the No. 6 selection. Black showed immediate potential by dropping 23 points on the Wizards during a December 26 game. He has since established himself as one of head coach Jamahl Mosley’s young stars.

Black is helping Orlando clinch a top-six seed for the NBA Playoffs. Orlando entered Minnesota with a 33–28 record, which dropped the Magic to 8th in the Eastern standings. Black averaged new career-highs across the board, including scoring, with 15.5 points per game in season three with the franchise.

Mike Conley reveals ‘football’ secret of helping Anthony Edwards

Minnesota Timberwolves veteran guard Mike Conley shared information about how he helps teammate Anthony Edwards stay focused during games, showing that conversations about football sometimes become part of the process.

As the Minnesota Timberwolves (40-23) prepare to face the Orlando Magic (33-28) on Saturday at 2:00 PM ET on Prime Video, reporter Christina Pink caught up with Conley before the game to discuss the dynamic between the veteran guard and the team’s young star.

Conley explained that he takes on a mentorship role, looking for opportunities to guide Edwards through different situations on the court.

“I’m just trying to get the most out of him. Any chance I can get to teach him something or make him pay attention to a certain thing on the court, whether it’s trying to figure out the double-team or trying to improve his shot, or trying to find opportunities for myself for my teammates.”

Conley said Edwards may sometimes need a more unconventional approach to keep him mentally engaged. The Timberwolves guard noted that Edwards’ playful personality sometimes leads him to talk about topics unrelated to basketball during games.

“Just trying to keep him engaged in the game in a different way because he can start talking about football and start talking about other things in the middle of the game because that’s just how he is. He’s a kid, he just loves to have fun so you know, just keep him locked in and ready to go.”

Conley’s reference to football also connects to Edwards’s well-known interest in the sport. The Timberwolves guard has previously stated on several occasions that he would like to try playing professional football if he wins an NBA championship before turning 30. Edwards has joked that he could potentially play wide receiver or even serve as a backup quarterback if he wants to pursue an NFL opportunity.

Conley, a longtime NBA veteran known for his leadership and steady presence at point guard, has played a key role in guiding Minnesota’s young core. His experience has proven valuable as Edwards has developed into one of the league’s premier guards.

Now in his sixth NBA season, Edwards is having the most efficient campaign of his career. The 24-year-old guard is averaging 29.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting a career-best 49.5% from the field and 40.6% from three-point range.

In 53 games this season, Edwards has logged 35.6 minutes per contest and has emerged as the focal point of Minnesota’s offense while continuing to develop as a two-way presence.

His production has helped guide the Timberwolves to a 40–23 record, placing them among the top teams in the Western Conference standings. Minnesota enters Saturday’s matchup riding a five-game winning streak while building momentum toward the postseason.

The Timberwolves have also reached the Western Conference Finals in each of the past two seasons, a run that coincided with Edwards’ rapid rise as a franchise centerpiece.

With Conley providing experienced leadership and Edwards continuing his lead, Minnesota will look to maintain its strong form as it prepares for another deep playoff push.

How Anthony Edwards responded to Michael Jordan’s message

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards reacted with appreciation after hearing a message of encouragement from NBA legend Michael Jordan during a recent interview shared by the league.

As the Timberwolves prepare to face the Orlando Magic on Saturday at 2:00 pm ET on Prime Video, the NBA released an interview between Edwards and longtime broadcaster Ahmad Rashad in which Rashad recounted Jordan’s thoughts about the young guard.

Rashad began the conversation by discussing Edwards’ playing style and the attention he gets from opposing defenses.

“There are very few people who enjoy the way you work. One of them is Michael Jordan. Now, Michael Jordan recently talked about how being double-teamed by you is a sign of respect. Did you know that?”

Edwards replied simply.

“Yes.”

Rashad then revealed that he recently spoke to Jordan and shared the Hall of Famer’s message about Edwards’ continued development and mentality.

“I talked to him yesterday and we talked about you. And he said, he loves the passion on both sides that you have. He said you need to continue to improve your game and accept challenges and move forward. And he knows you’re the type of person that has that determination. It’s great. [that] Isn’t it? To make that man your fan?”

Edwards smiled as he accepted the praise from the six-time NBA champion.

“Sure.”

The Timberwolves guard also recalled early conversations with Jordan before entering the league.

“He came to the gym before I got drafted in Minnesota, my pre-draft workout.”

Jordan’s comments come as Edwards continues to establish himself as one of the NBA’s brightest young stars. The 24-year-old guard has continued to improve his game since being selected first overall by Minnesota in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Now in his sixth season, Edwards is producing the most efficient campaign of his career. He averaged 29.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting career-bests of 49.5% from the field and 40.6% from three-point range.

In 53 games this season, Edwards has played 35.6 minutes per contest and has emerged as the focal point of Minnesota’s offense while continuing to develop as a two-way presence.

His production has helped guide the Timberwolves to a 40–23 record, placing the team among the top contenders in the Western Conference standings. Minnesota has also maintained strong momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season and enters Saturday’s match on a five-game winning streak.

Edwards’ leadership has played a central role in the franchise’s recent success. The Timberwolves have reached the Western Conference Finals in each of the last two seasons and will look to compete deep in the postseason again.

As Minnesota continues its push toward the playoffs, Edwards has focused on building his game while acknowledging the challenges Jordan referenced in his message. The Timberwolves will look to extend their winning streak when they host the Magic as they look to make another deep run in the postseason.

Anthony Edwards believes he can surpass Stephen Curry’s 3-point record

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry’s three-point record is believed to be out of reach, but Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards believes there is at least one man who can catch Curry.

Curry broke the record for three points scored in a game against the New York Knicks on December 14, 2021. He passed Ray Allen’s career mark of 2,973 three-pointers. But that record certainly seems like ages ago, as he surpassed 4,000 career three-pointers in March 2025 and currently stands at 4,233 in March 2026. James Harden is now second on the list with 3,336 three-pointers.

In a feature written by Danny Ammerman san francisco standardAnthony Edwards talked about who he believes can surpass Steph Curry for most career three-pointers. Of course, Edwards responded bluntly, saying, “I think I’m going to catch him.”

But after taking themselves out of the equation, they identified an interesting name: Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel.

“He can catch him,” Edwards told Emmerman. “The white boy from Charlotte, okay? He’s good. … Either me or Kon Knueppel. I’m a big fan of Kon Knueppel. He can really shoot the ball.”

The case of both Knueppel and Edwards is not as far-reaching as it may seem. Knueppel currently leads the league in three-pointers, drilling 222 at the time of this writing. Anthony Edwards ranks 9th in the top 10 for three-pointers made this season, with nearly 185. Edwards and Knueppel are both ahead of Curry, who has made 175 but has played only 39 games due to lingering injuries.

Knueppel’s NBA reputation in his first season was as an instinctive shooter who seems almost automatic from behind the arc. But Edwards wasn’t always a high-volume three-point shooter. In the 2020–2021 season, he shot 32.9% from three. Although he could knock down those shots, it was not his strongest asset. But since his rookie season, he has become one of the best three-point shooters in the league, hitting 39% from range in the 2024-2025 season and attempting 10.3 per game – which was 3.6 more attempts than in the 2023-2024 season.

While it will certainly take a long time to catch Steph Curry, and Curry certainly has more seasons left to attempt to put the three-point record out of reach, it’s certain that Knueppel and Edwards have a shot at the crown.

Anthony Edwards earns ‘best in the NBA’ label from Carmelo Anthony

Lately, Anthony Edwards has been on a roll. Recently, Edwards passed Kobe Bryant by having the second most 40-point games before turning 25. As a result, he is now behind Michael Jordan.

If that wasn’t enough, Edwards received a special honor from NBA legend Carmelo Anthony on the Brooklyn Podcast at 7 p.m. Overall, Anthony said Edwards is by far the top player in the league.

“I think Ant Edwards is the best player in the NBA. I think he brings everything. He brings intelligence, he accepts the challenge. His stats speak for themselves. Taking his team to multiple WCFs as a young player. His teammates are saying it. His teammates are saying ‘Ant is the guy right now.’ If you look at the trajectory, the energy, the IT factor, the early success, the wins, moving an organization forward. I must say, he is the one.”

So far, Edwards is averaging 29.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. On Thursday, Edwards finished with 22 points and four rebounds as the Timberwolves defeated the Toronto Raptors 115–108. As a result, the Timberwolves are 40–23, in third place in the Western Conference standings.

Additionally, Edwards is thinking about his plans to play in the NFL if he wins an NBA title before turning 30.

In February, Edwards won All-Star Game MVP. Additionally, he displays efficiency in scoring and 3-point shooting. He is shooting 49.5% from the field and 40.6% from the 3-point line.

Additionally, he is a four-time NBA All-Star and a 2024 Olympic gold medalist.

Anthony Davis takes next big step amid injury recovery

The Washington Wizards made two blockbuster trades at this offseason’s deadline, acquiring two stars in Trae Young and Anthony Davis. But while Trae Young is set to make his Wizards debut this week, a debut for Anthony Davis is a little less clear as he continues to work on his injury recovery.

On Thursday, the Wizards released a new update on Anthony Davis, saying that the big man’s hand injury was re-evaluated this week, and he is now able to make progress on limited individual on-court basketball activities. The team also said that Davis will be re-evaluated in two weeks and that’s when the next update will come.

Davis was acquired by the Wizards in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks a day before the deadline. Davis suffered injuries during his tenure with the Mavericks, and was already sidelined at the time of the deal.

An All-Star caliber and Defensive Player of the Year candidate when healthy, Davis has been limited to just 20 games this season, a little over 31 minutes per game. He averaged 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocked shots while splitting 50.6 percent shooting from the field, 27 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 72.8 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

The Wizards’ addition of Young and Davis signals a shift from rebuilding the franchise to now being able to compete in the Eastern Conference. The team has fielded a solid young group of players, some of whom were on display during the Rising Stars competition at All-Star Weekend. Davis and Young give the team capable, proven stars to help lead the group.

Jayson Tatum’s trainer hits back at Carmelo Anthony after ‘arrogant’ comment

On Thursday, the NBA world was shocked when Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was upgraded to questionable for the team’s upcoming game against the Dallas Mavericks. Tatum has not played yet this season as he recovers from an Achilles injury suffered in last year’s playoffs, and if he plays on Friday, it will be one of the quickest recoveries the league has ever seen.

Recently, NBA legend Carmelo Anthony adopted 7pm in Brooklyn Podcast to describe how he thinks Tatum should approach his return, now that Jaylen Brown has taken over as the team’s leader this year.

“Now it’s like JT, what are you going to sacrifice? But now I’ve held down the fort for you and the entire organization. JT has to be very mature about this situation. This is no ego, no pride. We got a chance to come back and win a championship. So I have to put my pride and ego aside for the next 3 months and let JB continue to steer the ship,” Anthony said.

One person who doesn’t agree with those comments is Tatum’s trainer, Drew Hanlen.

“The irony of Carmelo Anthony trying to tell Jayson Tatum how to win…” Hanlen, formerly of the Ax, wrote on Twitter.

In fact, Tatum already has a far more accomplished postseason resume than Anthony has accomplished in his career, though he was certainly drafted under very different circumstances.

Ironically, Anthony’s arrogance was seen as a negative trait throughout his career, as his tendency to dominate the ball in halfcourt settings was often at the expense of his teammates’ shots.

Still, there will clearly be an adjustment period for the Celtics as Tatum takes the court, and it will be interesting to see how Brown’s usage is affected by the return.

The Mavericks and Celtics are scheduled to tip off on Friday at 7:00 PM ET.

Carmelo Anthony demands Jayson Tatum sacrifice Jaylen Brown upon returning from injury

As Jayson Tatum prepares to return to the lineup for the Celtics, there is a growing group of NBA prognosticators who believe he will need to sideline Jaylen Brown for the team to be successful. Although the Celtics lost to the Hornets last night, they are still in second place in the Eastern Conference. They are 41-21 this year, two games ahead of the New York Knicks in the loss column.

on the latest episode of 7pm in BrooklynNBA Hall-of-Famer and nba on nbc Studio analyst Carmelo Anthony gave his opinion on the conversation surrounding Brown’s return, saying that Tatum needs to take a back seat to his All-Star teammate.

“For so long JB has sacrificed everything. Now it’s like JT, what are you going to sacrifice? But now I’ve held down the fort for you and the entire organization. JT has to be very mature about this situation. This is no ego, no pride. We got a chance to come back and win a championship. So I have to put my pride and ego aside for the next 3 months and let JB continue to steer the ship.”

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix made a similar comment on Wednesday, saying, “I think [Jayson] Tatum knows that by coming back he is stepping into Jaylen Brown’s team. Brown is a top five, top six MVP candidate this year. He has put this team on his back aggressively. And Tatum will have to find a way to fit in.

In 55 appearances this season, Jaylen Brown has averaged 28.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5 assists per game, while also recording a steal per contest. He is shooting 48% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc. Brown has been a driving force behind the success of the Boston Celtics, helping keep them firmly in the championship conversation.

Still, if Jayson Tatum returns to full strength, the Celtics will be a formidable team regardless of who rules each game. Over 72 games during the regular season, Jayson Tatum averaged 26.8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists per contest, while shooting 34% from three-point range. During that period, Tatum continued to develop into a high-level playmaker, someone who was able to generate scoring opportunities for his teammates while also being offensive for himself.

Tatum will certainly demonstrate his fit with the team when he returns to the lineup on Friday against the Mavericks.

Anthony Edwards moves ahead of Kobe Bryant at Epic Club, close to Michael Jordan

Anthony Edwards has become one of the NBA’s 10 best players, and that’s quite an accomplishment for someone who faced so much doubt as a prospect coming out of Georgia. Many thought he would be too distracted and not deeply in love with the game of basketball, but he proved that wrong almost immediately, and developed into a true superstar for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

On Tuesday night, Edwards did superstar things for the Timberwolves; He scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, including 10 straight at one point, to lead Minnesota to a 117–110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. He finished the night with 41 points on 15-29 shooting, including 7-13 from beyond the arc, as he left the Grizzlies defense helpless.

In doing so, Edwards now there is more A 40-point game for a shooting guard before the age of 25 compared to Kobe Bryant, as noted by Real Apps on X. The Timberwolves star now has the second-most such games, and he is now behind Michael Jordan in that department.

This shows how explosive a scorer Edwards is and how he is the closest thing to Bryant or Jordan in today’s NBA. And the next task for him is to lead the Timberwolves to the promised land, just as Bryant and Jordan did for the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls, respectively.

Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves are figuring it out

The Timberwolves know their intention this season is not to make it to the Western Conference Finals for the third consecutive year. They want to get over the hump, and if Edwards keeps up this level of play they have a good chance to do so.

Currently, the Timberwolves are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings, although they are within striking distance of third place. This may be more favorable to them, considering how they took care of business against the Lakers in last year’s playoffs (LA is currently in sixth place).

Anthony Edwards doesn’t like playing fast, but he has no choice

When Anthony Edwards gets going, the Minnesota Timberwolves are nearly impossible to stop. That’s exactly what happened in their 117-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. Edwards scored 13 points in the final frame, including 10 straight in one stretch, creating a comfortable cushion for the Timberwolves en route to their 39th win of the season in 62 games.

The Timberwolves are playing at a very fast pace, and Edwards has no choice but to adapt. Even though he admits it is not his favorite style of play, he acknowledges how dangerous he can be when the team gets out and runs – a playing style that has become more common For the team ever since they acquired Ayo Dosunmu via trade.

“Yeah, we added Bones and Ayo. … I’m not a fan of playing fast. But when I’m with them, I don’t have a choice because I always want the ball, and they’re gone. The only way to get the ball is if I’m next to them. I enjoy playing with Bones and Ayo. They’re super fast. They’re super fast with the rock,” Edwards told reporters after the game, via Dan Moore of Blue Wire.

The Timberwolves become even more versatile with Ayo Dosunmu

All things considered, the Timberwolves’ pace numbers haven’t increased much since adding Dosunmu. Dosunmu has played faster since they were acquired, but compared to the rest of the NBA players, the change isn’t as noticeable.

Minnesota’s default is still to play a little slower, with Edwards and Julius Randle preferring to be more methodical with their approach. But with Dosunmu partnering with Bones Hyland off the bench, the Timberwolves’ second unit looks to outscore the opposition at track meets.

This at least gives the team another dimension they can rely on when things get tough.

The Suns made this move after waiving Cole Anthony

Earlier this week, the Phoenix Suns opted to shake things up by waiving guard Cole Anthony, who the team acquired in a recent trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. The move was relatively surprising for a Suns team that is currently low on perimeter scoring, with both Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks sidelined.

Now, more details are emerging on Anthony’s post-verdict move.

“The Suns are converting Jamari Bouia from his two-way deal to a standard contract after waiving Cole Anthony,” ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel, formerly of the X, reported on Twitter.

Bouya has been a pleasant surprise for the Suns this year, averaging 6.5 points and 1.8 assists per game this season, and has consistently put pressure on opposing defenses with his speed, while also providing solid perimeter defense on the other end of the floor.

Anthony’s decision was necessary to ultimately pave the way for the Suns to convert Bouya from his two-way deal to a standard NBA contract.

Currently, the Suns are 34-26 on the season, and are in contention to secure one of the top six seeds in the Western Conference, which is where most pundits thought they would be at this point in the campaign after trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets last season.

Unfortunately, the Suns are currently down two of their top scorers in Booker and Brooks, who has been a revelation in Phoenix this year, expanding his offensive game while remaining an elite defender.

If Booker and Brooks are able to return to the lineup at some point in the near future, it would do wonders for the Suns’ potential ability to shock the NBA and secure one of the top six seeds in the conference.

Anthony Edwards spills the truth on the Nuggets’ double-team strategy

Whenever the Minnesota Timberwolves step onto the hardwood, Anthony Edwards is sure to command any opposing team’s attention. In fact, on Sunday night, Edwards got so much respect from the Denver Nuggets that there was a point in the game where he was drawing double teams as soon as he crossed halfcourt.

In the end, Edwards and the Timberwolves persisted despite the Nuggets’ shameless defensive tactics, as they won 117–108 on the road. The Timberwolves star hasn’t had the best of nights; He finished with only 21 points on 9-19 shooting from the field, which is quite low by his standards, but the defensive attention he attracted opened up the court so much for his teammates.

This speaks volumes about Edwards’ progress as a basketball player he doesn’t care anymore Whether the opposition wants to take the ball out of his hands or not – as long as his team is playing winning basketball.

“It might have been last year or the year before last when I said, ‘Man, they’re double partnering me. I don’t like it.’ At this point, it’s a sign of respect. Because they were double teaming me. They were hitting me from halfcourt. I’m not angry at all because, at the end of the day, my four is better than those three. We’re playing three on four,” Edwards said, via Dan Moore of Blue Wire.

Five other scorers crossed double figures for the Timberwolves, and it was a balanced effort that made this incredible win over another fellow contender in the Nuggets possible. Edwards has become so dangerous as a scorer that the Nuggets were prepared to beat him with everyone they could — which Minnesota did.

The Timberwolves have made a living taking advantage of their opportunities, but have faced a lot of trouble dealing with weaker teams. They will be tested on Tuesday when they take on the struggling Memphis Grizzlies.

Phoenix finally breaks up with Cole Anthony

As part of a three-team trade back at the deadline, the Phoenix Suns acquired Amir Coffey and Cole Anthony from the Milwaukee Bucks. While Coffey has been a part of the Suns’ rotation since his arrival, that is not the case for Anthony. According to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, a move toward removing Cole Anthony from the roster was always under discussion for the Suns, and according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the team finally did it on Friday.

Cole Anthony did not join the Suns’ roster after the deadline, and the move allows him to clear waivers by the March 1 buyout deadline and potentially be picked up by another team. Siegel suggests another team could bring Anthony in via a 10-day contract or for the remainder of the season, but there are also some foreign teams that have expressed interest in him. However, at this time, it is likely that he will continue to pursue another NBA opportunity.

With the Suns now having an open roster spot, two-way contract guard Jamari Bouya is a candidate to be converted to a standard deal. The Suns also signed Haywood Highsmith to a contract after acquiring him from the Brooklyn Nets earlier this month.

Anthony was selected 15th overall in the 2020 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. He played for the Magic for five seasons before being included in the team’s offseason trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The Grizzlies waived Anthony before the start of the season, and he signed with the Bucks.

Anthony appeared in 35 games for the Bucks at a rate of just over 15 minutes per game. He averaged 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists with splits of 42.4 percent shooting from the field, 30.6 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 61.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Blake Griffin points out Anthony Edwards’ underrated skills

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards is having another stellar campaign, once again showing why many consider him the face of the NBA.

Although he has scoffed at the label, Edwards cannot ignore the impact he has had on the league, especially among fans. Edwards’ charming style and colorful personality have made him a very popular player in his generation.

The 24-year-old Edwards has also matured over the years, understanding the game better and accepting that he needs to become a complete player, not just a scoring machine.

Former NBA star Blake Griffin pointed out people have ignored Edwards’ defensive skills.

“Offensively, he’s getting better and better every year, and it shows. But one thing I don’t hear talked about enough is how good a defender he really is. He’s not a target guy. You don’t think about putting him into a ton of work. You avoid him. He’s second on the team in steals, fourth in deflections,” Griffin said on NBA on Prime.

“He’s really a guy that’s doing it on both ends of the floor, which is huge for a team.”

Griffin, who was also a very popular player, also noted the importance of Edwards’ fun-loving attitude. Even when he is on the court, he likes to chat around and joke, which motivates him to play more.

Griffin said, “The other thing I love about Ant is that he plays the game of basketball and really lives it. It’s contagious to a team, and that team carries that personality.”

Edwards, who recently won his first All-Star Game MVP, has often been praised for his work ethic and stubborn attitude to join the NBA’s elite.

He has led the Timberwolves to a 36-23 record – fifth in the Western Conference – entering their game against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome on Thursday.

泰瑞斯馬克西 (Tyrese Maxey) 在五年級時扮演「矮小、胖胖、強壯」的安東尼愛德華茲 (Anthony Edwards)
