Anthony Black reveals the keys to becoming a top six seed

After the Orlando Magic bounced back from a double-overtime loss to the Phoenix Suns with a two-point win (111-109) over the LA Clippers, Anthony Black discussed the keys to his team securing a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference. In a season where the young and up-and-coming Detroit Pistons sit comfortably at the top of the standings, the Black and Magic are looking to build on their appearance in the play-in tournament last season.

The Magic finished with a .500 record (41–41) in 2024–25, seventh-best in the Eastern Conference. Black says the league can expect the Magic to perform best brand of basketball “Amid the final stretch of the regular season,” he said, according to ESPN’s NBA Today.

“You know, just being consistent in the way we play. Just the energy that we bring every night, especially on the defensive side of the ball,” Black said. “Just making a push. We hope to play our best basketball this season. Just figuring it out.”

Anthony Black scored 11 points in the Magic’s win against the Clippers. All five starters reached double figures, including Paolo Banchero (16 points) and Wendell Carter Jr. (15 points), with Desmond Bane scoring 36 points.

After bouncing back with a hard-fought win against the Clippers, the Magic could bring back Jalen Suggs for Tuesday when they take on the Lakers. Magic forward Paolo Banchero highlighted his team’s shortcomings in Sunday’s double overtime loss, which were also evident in Sunday’s win against the Clippers.

Banchero said, “I wasn’t on the ball so my focus was on protecting the inbounder. I didn’t really look too much, just turned my head and the ball was in the air.”

“I don’t mean ideal, but [I] Thought we played hard, I didn’t think we made enough plays down the stretch they did – a little more than we did and yes, definitely a little bit of a loss. Now! [a] Tough game.”

Tuesday’s match against the Lakers will conclude the Magic’s four-game road trip.

Anthony Edwards’ voice cut off after Tyrese Maxey puts up poster

On Sunday, at the Target Center, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey thrilled fans with a powerful third quarter dunk over Minnesota Timberwolves stars Anthony Edwards and Jon Beringer. This play helped Philly cruise to a 135–108 victory.

Maxey, who had recently played with Edwards in the All-Star Game, scored a team-high 39 points on 16 of 28 shooting. The win snapped the Sixers’ four-game losing streak, leaving them at 31–26, and ended Minnesota’s three-game winning streak, leaving them at 35–23.

Even after Maxey threw a large poster at Edwards, he remained relaxed and smiling, showing no frustration towards the rising 76ers star.

“He’s unbelievable, man, he already knows he’s one of my favorite players to watch in the league. He even attacked me today, I really don’t like it,” Edwards told reporters after the game.

“I didn’t know he was going to lay it down… I finally turned my head. I was thinking he was going to lay it on, then he went and punched it… That’s why we play the game, I’m not mad about it.”

Maxi performed exceptionally well despite the absence of Joel Embiid and a Paul George-less 76ers team, with neither star taking the court.

Edwards scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but Maxey’s game-high 39 points led Philadelphia to a dominant win over Minnesota.

Rudy Gobert sat out due to a one-game suspension, and Nazi Reed missed the game with a shoulder injury, leaving Minnesota shorthanded.

Edwards and Maxey would meet once again on April 3 for the last regular season game between Minnesota and Philadelphia.

Even after the viral dunk and the tough loss, Edwards remains a must-watch player at just 24 years old. Whether he is underrated can be debated, but there is no doubt that he is one of the top talents in the game.

For now, Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves will look to bounce back when they face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

Anthony Edwards admits he can’t name one player on the Wild or Twins

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards surprised many with his lack of knowledge of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and MLB’s Minnesota Twins.

Edwards made the comments during a special guest appearance on the sports comedy podcast Sunday Conversation. As the franchise player of the Timberwolves, fans will assume he knows at least one player from Minnesota’s professional baseball or hockey teams. However, Edwards, who is always up for debate about being the face of the NBA, is always completely honest with his comments and lacks the media-trained fake answers given by many star athletes.

Edwards said at 2:56, “I haven’t got any favorite players among them. I don’t know any players from the Twins or the Wild. I’ll put it to you, I don’t watch baseball or hockey.”

Given his tendency to be outspoken, it’s funny to hear his honesty here, in which he admits he doesn’t watch or care about Minnesota’s other pro teams.

Anthony Edwards goes viral with his highlights and statements on and off the court. This example was no different as the Timberwolves star continues to draw attention with his comments about the sports world

Edwards has had a strong season as he approaches the halfway point of his sixth year in the league. Over the course of 47 appearances, he has averaged 29.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He is shooting 49.4% from the field, including 40.1% from beyond the arc, and 79.4% from the free-throw line.

Minnesota has a 35–23 record on the season, tied for sixth in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors, while trailing the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.

After Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Timberwolves will look to bounce back in their next matchup. They’ll be on the road when they face the Portland Trail Blazers on February 24th at 10 PM ET.

Anthony Edwards is 100% honest on Tyrese Maxi Dunk

Tyrese Maxey had a stellar performance as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 135-108 at Target Center on Sunday, giving Anthony Edwards a frontcourt seat — unfortunately for him.

Maxey had a game-high 39 points on 16-of-28 shooting with three rebounds, eight assists and two steals. The 76ers ended their four-game losing streak and improved to 31–26.

They also snapped the Timberwolves’ three-game winning streak, which came to 35–23. Minnesota played without Rudy Gobert and Nazi Reed due to a one-game suspension and shoulder injury, respectively.

In the third quarter, Maxey gave the 76ers even more momentum after making strong dunks over Anthony Edwards and Jon Beringer.

After the game, Edwards acknowledged Maxi’s huge slam and gave his teammate the All-Star high praise.

“He’s unbelievable. He already knows he’s one of my favorite players to watch in the league. He even attacked me today. I really don’t like it. He played very well,” Edwards said in a video posted by Timberwolves reporter Andrew Dukowitz.

“I didn’t know he was going down. I just turned my head. I was thinking he was going to lay it up, then he went and punched it. It was like a little early dunk, too. I didn’t even get a chance to stop it. But yeah, that’s why we play the game. I’m not mad at it.”

Ant-Man has always kept it real during interviews, and it’s nice to hear him give Maxi props. While Edwards, 24, is known for talking a lot on the floor, he is equally generous with compliments.

He finished with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks. He also had a game-high seven turnovers.

The Timberwolves will face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

Watch Tyrese Maxey’s insane dunk on Anthony Edwards

After teaming up for Team Stars in the All-Star Game, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards are back on opposite sides.

Maxi made sure to remind Edwards about it on Sunday.

With the 76ers leading in the third quarter, Maxey attacked the rim and made a strong attack. left hand slam Edwards and center Jon Beringer, wowing the crowd at Target Center.

When Maxi moved into the lane he clearly had bad intentions.

While the 25-year-old guard is more known for his speed and explosiveness, he can definitely throw it down.

Edwards, who has quite a collection of posters, must appreciate Maxi’s fearless jam.

X fans certainly did.

“He bounced like gravity had forgotten him,” said @LinLyn99.

@shydyor said, “Maxi attacking multiple defenders? Bad.”

“Honestly, that was ridiculous athleticism,” @lunoxcrypto wrote.

Wow, that’s rare for him. Well done, Maxi,” @elkanahofficial posted.

@ajaybolt0 commented, “76ers got a bright future.”

@washedupscooner suggested, “Get my man out of Philly.”

At this point, one could argue that Maxey is now the 76ers’ most important player, as Joel Embiid struggles with his health. Maxi has been performing consistently since his second year out.

The backcourt pairing of Maxey with VJ Edgecombe has given Philadelphia a more dynamic and high-octane attack than relying mostly on Embiid.

Maxi had 39 points, three rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

Anthony Edwards cancels Daniel Gafford’s entry

The Minnesota Timberwolves picked up a 122-111 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. It was a strong performance from Anthony Edwards, as he looked to be in great form after the All-Star break. However, immediately after the win, Edwards revealed that he missed the chance to dunk Daniel Gafford.

During an interview after the game, the 24-year-old shooting guard claimed that he felt fresh and seemed happy with his performance. But he admitted he should have dunked on Gafford. Edwards also sent a message to the Mavericks center.

“I should have dunked on Gafford,” Edwards said. “I hope you see it. I should have punched your ass, but I saved you.”

Anthony Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves with 40 points, six rebounds and one assist. He accomplished that statline while shooting 53.3% from the floor and 38.4% from beyond the three-point line. The four-time All-Star looks as good as ever and is ready to lead Minnesota in the final stretch of the regular season.

Edwards may be having the best season of his career so far. Through 47 games played, the six-year veteran is averaging 29.5 points (career-high), 5.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, while shooting 49.4% field goal percentage (career-high) and 40.1% three-point percentage (career-high).

It appears the Timberwolves are getting hot at the right time. With the club sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference, Minnesota is 7-3 in their last 10 games and is currently on a three-game winning streak. We’ll see Anthony Edwards and his teammates in action again on Sunday when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers at home.

Anthony Edwards ties Luka Doncic for impressive points total in 2025-26

Anthony Edwards is unquestionably one of the best players in the association, and some even believe he is the best player in the NBA bar one. Now, it’s hard to crown Edwards given how talented his teammates are, but the fact that he’s keeping pace with the elite is nothing less than a huge win for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

On Friday night, with Edwards playing for the Timberwolves for the first time since the All-Star break, the 2026 NBA All-Star Game MVP picked up right where he left off. He scored 40 points for Minnesota to lead them to a 122–111 win over the Dallas Mavericks, and in doing so, he notched his eighth 40-point game of the 2025–26 campaign.

This places him in rarefied air; This season, only two players have scored 40 points in a single game at least eight times, with Edwards joining Luka Doncic in that exclusive club, as reported by the official ClutchPoints account on Ax (formerly Twitter).

Edwards is now averaging 29.5 points per contest on the season, which ranks him third in the association behind Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. That’s why the Timberwolves are emerging as a secret contender in the Western Conference, and Edwards is a big factor in that.

It was thanks to a stellar first quarter performance that the Timberwolves managed to create a comfortable cushion between themselves and the Mavericks. At the end of the period they were already ahead by 15, and Edwards scored only three runs during that period. Edwards led the way in the second frame, scoring 17 points in 10 minutes, and Minnesota kept Dallas at bay for most of the game.

Edwards, who was without Cooper Flagg on Friday night due to a foot injury, battled his way against an overmatched Mavs team.

Anthony Edwards shows off the Kobe Bryant trophy

Anthony Edwards has certainly been having a great time lately. After winning the All-Star Tournament and MVP awards, Ant was once again the star for the Timberwolves as they recorded a dominant 122–11 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

And well, in totally typical fashion, according to a post by the NBA on X, Edwards was seen showing off his MVP trophy to his teammates with a big smile on his face. Edwards can be seen patiently showing the trophy to each of his teammates before putting it back.

Playing his first game after the All-Star break, Ant made 16 of 30 shooting (53.3%), hit 5 of 13 from three, and added six rebounds in 38 minutes. Despite being the main focus of the hapless Mavericks defense, Edwards committed only three turnovers on the night.

The Mavericks struggled to keep up throughout and fell behind every time they threatened to take over the game. When Dallas erased a significant deficit and tied the game at 103 with 6:55 remaining, Edwards answered with a step-back three that reestablished Minnesota control.

Edwards scored 14 fourth-quarter points as the Timberwolves finally got comfortable and finished the game ahead by 11 points. The Timberwolves shot 16-of-42 from three (38.1%), leading to a 24-point advantage from beyond the arc.

Rudy Gobert delivered 22 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks, while Naz Reed provided ample support, adding 21 points and four three-pointers. For the Mavericks, Khris Middleton led the way with 18 points and Marvin Bagley produced a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double.

However, in the absence of several stars including Cooper Flagg, Max Christie and Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks struggled with their shooting all night and their team field-goal accuracy was 42.3%. This proved to be his downfall as ANT bounced back with his eighth 40-point game of the season, helping hand the Mavs their tenth consecutive loss.

Minnesota will now face the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday while the Mavericks will next face the Indiana Pacers.

Fans will be excited by Anthony Edwards’ 25-0 announcement

The Dallas Mavericks suffered their tenth consecutive loss at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Anthony Edwards having a stellar performance with 40 points and six rebounds in a 122–111 victory. After the game, the All-Star MVP was seen not only in excitement, but also made a firm announcement to the fans.

“We got 25 more [games] Hopefully we can go 25-0,” ANT responded when asked about his expectations for the rest of the season, per a post on Ax by ClutchPoints.

The Timberwolves currently sit in 5th place in the Western Conference with a 35-22 record and will have their sights set on the top spots in the standings. Edwards recorded his eighth 40-point outing of the season and pushed the Mavericks’ losing streak to their worst in three decades.

The Timberwolves started the game 8-for-13 from three-point range, exploded for 40-points in the first quarter, and built a lead that reached 17–18 points before halftime. Edwards led that surge with 20 points in the first half, including 17 points in the second quarter.

The Wolves finished the half with 69 points and 11 made threes and then proceeded to withstand a late surge from the Mavericks. Dallas responded with a 24–8 run that cut the deficit to two midway through the third quarter.

However, the comeback was immediately stopped, even though the Mavs were tied at 103–103 with 6:55 remaining. Dallas is also missing players like Cooper Flagg and Max Christie, along with Kyrie Irving and Derek Lively, who are both out for the season.

Edwards took control of the final minutes and scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to eventually make the margin comfortable. In addition to ANT, Rudy Gobert recorded 22 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks, while Naz Reed added 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four threes.

The Timberwolves will now play the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, with the Mavericks set to take on next year’s finalists the Indiana Pacers, hoping to end their losing streak.

Giannis, Anthony Edwards know exactly what they’re doing with viral moment after trade rumors

The biggest story in the NBA has been the immediate future of Giannis Antetokounmpo, as it appears he is nearing the end of his tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks. The potential trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo caused an uproar across the league, even prompting teams to make a trade to see if the two-time MVP was available to acquire.

In the days leading up to the trade deadline, one team picked up steam as a prime destination for Giannis Antetokounmpo’s services: the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves, led by charismatic star Anthony Edwards, have made runs to the Western Conference Finals the past two seasons, but it appears they don’t have enough runs to overcome this loss. So, the Timberwolves aggressively pursued Antetokounmpo, and it appeared that playing with Edwards was uppermost in the Bucks star’s mind.

Ultimately, negotiations failed as Milwaukee chose to keep Antetokounmpo through the remainder of the season and explore his future in the off-season. At the All-Star break, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Anthony Edwards fueled trade rumors.

In a video posted by the Timberwolves, the two All-Stars were seen chatting in the tunnel at the Intuit Dome and mentioned how they knew their video together would go viral.

“We’re gonna go viral again, man,” Antetokounmpo said.

Edwards replied, “We’re always going to go viral, you get me and you together. We’re going to go viral.”

These interactions between players in the All-Star Game are always seen as potential precursors to future team-ups. During the 2019 All-Star Game, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were caught on video talking privately with each other, which many speculated at the time as possibly being the reason they were teaming up to play each other. And the speculations appeared to be true.

On Kevin Durant’s Podcast ETC with Kevin Durant In September 2020, Durant indicated that the conversation solidified their intention to play with each other, although he did not know which team he would be joining.

“The All-Star Game video where they caught us in the hallway. That’s when it cemented that we were going somewhere. They didn’t really know where it was, but it was somewhere.”

Durant said the conversation at All-Star Weekend was not the first time they discussed his future.

“Like we’ll have these types of [basketball related] Conversation all day, every day. And it evolved from there. It just grew from there, it was organic, you know what I’m saying? And it wasn’t something you could point to and say, this was the moment. That’s it, that’s it.”

It’s unknown whether Edwards and Antetokounmpo were having the same conversation, and they certainly weren’t doing so in that video. But, there is a possibility that we may see two All-Stars team up together in the future.

Both the Bucks and Timberwolves are back in action on Friday night. Minnesota will host Dallas at 7:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPN. Meanwhile, the Bucks will travel to New Orleans for tip-off at 8 p.m.

Anthony Edwards earns NBA’s best label from Rich Paul

Anthony Edwards has exceeded all expectations placed on him since being drafted with the first overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2020. Fans thought he wasn’t as into basketball as any first-overall pick of the draft would be, but he has shattered everyone’s perception of him as he has become a true competitor, taking the Timberwolves to heights they have rarely reached in the past.

Edwards, every second he spends on the court, feels as if he is the best player on the court, no matter who he plays with on the court. The Timberwolves star, as fans now call him, has that “Dog” in him, because he loves to go up against the best and show that he is better than them.

Edwards’ belief in himself is infectious to such an extent that Klutch Sports’ star agent Rich Paul, who, as anyone may remember, once had the Timberwolves star as a client before deciding to change representation in 2023, is also in the promotion.

“I still think it’s a community, but I think that community is led by Anthony Edwards. I think Anthony Edwards is the best player in our league today,” Paul said on the Game Over podcast with Max Kellerman. “He’s the best player in the NBA, yes he is.”

Paul could use his ability to sweet-talk his clients to bring Edwards back to Klutch Sports, but still, the Timberwolves star has certainly accomplished some things that make him worthy of such hype. Now, calling him the “best” player in the NBA may be a bit of a hyperbole. Nonetheless, Paul believes Edwards ranks high among his peers.

Paul said, “The face of the league versus the best player. The face of the league, you have to grow into that, it’s something different. But the best player? Yeah, he’s the best player. You can’t watch a game against anybody on any given night and look at that game and say that guy is better than Anthony Edwards.”

LeBron James points to the same problem with Luka Doncic or Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers were certainly lucky to get Luka Doncic in a blockbuster trade that continues to be talked about around the association. However, the Lakers have already built their roster with Anthony Davis in mind that L.A. hasn’t yet been able to surround Doncic with the pieces he needs to make a championship charge.

Currently, the Lakers sit in fifth place in the Western Conference, and they have glaring roster deficiencies that they were not able to address before the trade deadline. Their defense is missing a lot of pieces to help cover for Doncic and Austin Reaves’ shortcomings on that side of the ball.

Of course, it’s impossible to count out any team with Doncic and LeBron James either way. Still, James acknowledged that the Lakers are dealing with the same issues as they have in years past, even though Doncic is now his co-star instead of Davis.

“We’re playing good ball sometimes, but the number one important thing for us is health. We finally got healthy with AR coming back and then Luka went down with the hamstring. So that’s going to be most important for our team. And it’s been that way for our team the last couple of years,” James said on the latest episode of the Mind the Game podcast.

The Lakers’ injury problems keep them from getting into a more consistent rhythm

Every game seems like a dogfight for the Lakers, as their defensive limitations force them to constantly outshoot their opponents. Against lockdown defensive teams, the Purple and Gold have struggled, especially with Doncic, Reeves and James in and out of the lineup.

“We’re not set up to the point where we have a lot of room for error or, like, when Eddie was on the team. When Eddie goes down it’s like, crap. We don’t have enough to pick him up. When Luka goes down you know it’s crap, it’s Luka. AR was down, but it was tough for us,” James said.

Stephen A. Smith anoints Anthony Edwards as the next face of the NBA

According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, after the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards won the All-Star Game MVP award, it’s fitting to appoint him the face of the NBA. Talking about Edwards’ all-round game, Smith says that Edwards’ unique skill set sets him apart from players like San Antonio Spurs youngster Victor Wambayama.

Edwards is eligible for Smith informal title he said of the face of the NBA, according to ESPN’s First Take.

“[Victor] Vembanyama, brother, is special. But that damn Ant-Man, he’s worth watching. That’s Jordan-esque. He hasn’t won yet. So we can’t say that,” Smith said. “But his game – the pureness of it – the handle, the shot, the athleticism, the swag. She doesn’t believe it, but her boy Stephen A. is going to tell her. You got it all.”

Smith says the average fan may relate more to Edwards than Vishal Wembanyama.

“A lot of people can’t relate to someone who’s 7-feet-5 inches tall. We can never do that. We can’t be that. It’s just an anomaly. Ant-Man is just like Steph [Curry]The baby face is killer. Damn, look at his size, and he’s doing what he’s doing,” Smith said. “Look at Ant-Man what he’s doing… [He] Is going to be the face of the NBA. Mark it. Vembanyama is there with him. He may win sooner than we know, but Ant-Man will be there.

Edwards totaled 32 points in 26 minutes over three games. He helped lead the USA Stars to a 47–21 victory in the All-Star Game final.

Stephen A. Smith wasn’t the only NBA analyst to praise the Timberwolves’ All-Star forward on the four-letter network, as ESPN’s Brian Windhorst gave Anthony Edwards his due following the 2026 NBA All-Star Game.

windhorst kept it 100 About Edwards, according to ESPN’s Get Up.

“This guy does everything you want from a superstar,” Windhorst said. “He plays on both ends of the court, he has great dunks, he’s a great 3-point shooter, he has a great personality, he’s been a winner. He hasn’t won a championship, but he’s led the Wolves to their best two years in franchise history, and he has incredible competitive juice, which he’s shown in this game.”

Brian Windhorst praises Anthony Davis after All-Star Game

After the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, it was Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards who walked away with the MVP trophy. Edwards helped lead Team Stars to a 47–21 win against Team Stripes in the final game of the new round-robin tournament format. The Timberwolves star finished with eight points, four rebounds and two assists in the final game.

After the All-Star Game, ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst talked about why Anthony Edwards should get more praise as one of the rising faces of the NBA.

“This guy does everything you want from a superstar,” Windhorst said. “He plays on both ends of the court, he has great dunks, he’s a great 3-point shooter, he has a great personality, he’s been a winner. He hasn’t won any championships, but he’s led the Wolves to their best two years in franchise history, and he has incredible competitive juice that he’s shown in this game.”

“I think Ant Edwards is a guy who is going to be a focal point for Team USA going forward,” Windhorst continued. “A centerpiece of All-Star games moving forward, and it’s not something he’s always wanted… but he’s so magnetic. This is a guy the NBA needs to invest heavily in moving forward. They don’t have a choice, they have to.”

The two seasons Windhorst was referring to were the last two seasons when the Wolves reached consecutive Western Conference Finals. Previously, the franchise had made only one conference final appearance in its entire history, in 2004, when Kevin Garnett was at his peak.

This season, Edwards has played just over 35 minutes per game in 46 games. His career averages have been 29.3 points and 5.2 rebounds. Averaged 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals, shooting 49.3 percent from the field, 40.2 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 79.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Anthony Edwards’ cryptic ‘home’ comment to Jaylen Johnson

On Sunday evening, the NBA All-Star Game took place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was part of the festivities. Edwards’ team won the game, and Starr won the All-Star Game MVP award for his efforts, outscoring opponents throughout the game.

One of Edwards’ teammates for the game was Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson, who caught hold of Edwards in a moment after the game. Went viral on social media.

In a leaked video, Edwards can be heard telling Johnson he “can’t wait to get home,” according to former playoff running back Jalen Jalen on Twitter, via Basket News.

Edwards is from the Atlanta area and could be seen pointing to his Atlanta-themed hat when his name was announced before the start of the All-Star Game.

Meanwhile, Johnson has established himself as the guy in Atlanta after the team transferred point guard Trae Young to the Washington Wizards earlier this year. He has used his combination of playmaking and athleticism to turn himself into one of the best young forwards in the game today.

While Edwards has seen some great success with the Timberwolves so far, there’s no doubt that things could become volatile if they have a playoff disappointment in 2026. Minnesota has made the Conference Finals in each of the last two seasons, but was uncompetitive in both of those series, first against the Dallas Mavericks in 2024 and then against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025.

If Edwards ever requests a trade or threatens to leave in free agency, the Hawks would be a landing spot that would likely be touted by fans and pundits alike due to his connection to the area, as well as his recent exchange with Johnson.

In any case, the Timberwolves next face off on Friday against the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite still being young compared to James and Durant, Edwards is steadily making a name and legacy for himself in the game. Playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Edwards is averaging 29.3 points per game on 49.3 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from deep. Anthony Edwards credits Victor Wembanyama for All-Star effort

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards had quite the weekend. While the NBA All-Star festivities certainly weren’t worth watching on television, Edwards put in a stellar performance on Sunday night during the All-Star Game, earning MVP honors in the process after scoring 32 points in three games, including eight in their final win, a 47-21 loss to the Team Stars over Team Stripes.

But the Stars certainly faced some close calls on their way to an NBA All-Star Game crown. They lost to the Stripes in the round robin game, but thankfully won their previous competition against Team World thanks to Scotty Barnes’ game-winner, which had Victor Vembanyama fuming in anger at his team’s defensive actions.

This reaction was a clear indication of how seriously Vembanayama was taking the competition, even an All-Star Game that has lost its luster in recent years. and Timberwolves star gave him credit To inject some much-needed life into the exhibition competition.

“I’m not going to lie, Wembley sets the tone. He came out playing hard. It’s hard not to match him, so that’s what happened. Sorry for my language. But that’s what happened,” Edwards said in his postgame interview via the official ClutchPoints account on X (formerly Twitter).

Edwards is a player who has always wanted to play against the best players in the association; That’s exactly the kind of stoic killer he wants to be on the court. The Timberwolves star also said that he really liked the NBA’s new format for this year’s edition of the All-Star Game, and his feedback will definitely be taken into account by those in charge.

Now, all that’s left for Edwards to do this season is try to power up the Timbers

Anthony Edwards joins LeBron James club after All-Star accomplishment

Anthony Edwards’ career is on a rapid upward trend, and he is establishing himself as a surefire Hall of Famer, even though he is only six seasons into his NBA career. The Minnesota Timberwolves star has been racking up a ton of accomplishments so early in his career, the latest of which is him taking home All-Star Game MVP honors on Sunday night after scoring a total of 32 points while his team, the Team USA Stars, accomplished the feat.

Edwards scored 32 points in three games and was the Stars’ most consistent player in their NBA All-Star Game-winning performance, earning himself the MVP award in the process. And in doing so, he became the only player in NBA history other than LeBron James to score 10,000 points or more, win an Olympic gold medal, become All-Star Game MVP and be touted as the number one overall pick before the age of 25, as reported by OptaStats on X (formerly Twitter).

Of course, the Timberwolves star is missing a key element of the LeBron experience; He has yet to lead his team to the NBA Finals and has yet to win overall MVP honors, both of which James accomplished at the age of 24. But Edwards still has time to figure it out.

Anthony Edwards’ next goal is to lead the Timberwolves to victory

As confident as Edwards is, he knows legacies are cemented when one’s team is in last place in June. The Timberwolves have never done this yet in their history; They have yet to advance beyond the conference finals.

That’s now Edwards’ next goal – helping the Timberwolves overcome Western Conference challenge. And if he somehow brings a championship to Minnesota, he should earn induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for it.

Anthony Edwards gets real about Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards added another feat to his cap after being named All-Star Game MVP for the first time. He led Team Stars to the title in the mini tournament at the Intuit Dome on Sunday.

Edwards displayed his all-around talent, scoring 32 points, nine rebounds and three assists in three games. Team Stars avenged their defeat in the round robin by dominating Team Stripes 47–21 in the final.

Meanwhile, Team World lost two of its assignments despite a strong performance from San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama. For Edwards, Team World would have been more competitive if Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic and Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic played more.

“No grudges against Luka and Jokic, but they’re two of the best players in the league, and they’re not trying to play in the All-Star Game,” the 24-year-old guard said.

Doncic and Jokic failed to gel in Team World’s do-or-die game against Team Stripes. In their opening game against Team Stars, Doncic had two points and two assists, while Jokic did not score and had two rebounds.

Doncic has missed the Lakers’ last four games with a hamstring injury, while Jokic recently returned from a long layoff with a knee injury.

The lack of competition has been the main problem in the All-Star Game, as most players do not take it seriously. The NBA has changed the format several times, including this year, to increase the level of competition, but to no avail.

It doesn’t help that Lakers forward LeBron James made an offhand comment about the staging of this year’s Midseason Classic.

If more players cared as much as Edwards, the All-Star Game would be more watchable.

Anthony Edwards drops the cold truth on facing KD, LeBron in All-Star Game

Anthony Edwards always believes that he is the best player on the court at all times, no matter who he is sharing the hardcourt with. The Minnesota Timberwolves star loves to snatch the chains from other stars he competes against, and that’s what helped Team Stars reach the NBA All-Star Game crown.

Edwards scored a total of 32 points in three games, including eight in the Stars’ 47–21 win over the Stripes, and that was good enough to crown the Timberwolves star as All-Star Game MVP.

Going up against players like Kevin Durant, with whom he has had a friendly rivalry over the past few seasons, and LeBron James, both of whom he played with on the gold medal-winning Team USA in 2024, lit a fire Under the Timberwolves star, as was obvious.

“I want to cook them every time,” Edwards said in his interview after receiving All-Star Game MVP honors.

In fact, the Timberwolves star did his fair share of the cooking, as a few of his buckets in the All-Star Game final caused much of a rift between him and Team Stripes. Now all that’s left is to keep cooking whoever comes after the season.

Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards is coming for the crown

Edwards has been tough in the playoffs now, having suffered heartbreak in two Western Conference Finals. In his first WCF appearance, he ran out of steam. The following year, the Oklahoma City Thunder were formidable. But now, Edwards understands the level that is required for him to get over the hump.

Timberwolves stars raise their game when they come up against the game’s greats, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has quickly become one of them. And knowing how much he has on his shoulders, hopefully he’ll be at his best when the postseason starts in April.

Anthony Edwards has no doubt covering Kyrie Irving 1-on-1

Anthony Edwards never faced a challenge he didn’t like, and that includes locking down one of the greatest ball-handlers in NBA history. The Minnesota Timberwolves star recently caused a stir by claiming he can perfectly guard Kyrie Irving in a one-on-one setting. While Irving is currently trying to come back from a torn ACL, “Ant-Man’s” confidence hasn’t wavered one bit.

“Oh sure I can guard Kyrie,” Edwards said when asked about a hypothetical matchup. “In a 1-on-1 setting, I like me.”

It’s the exact brand of fearless bravery that has the Timberwolves sitting near the top of the Western Conference. Minnesota most recently took care of business with an impressive 118-105 win against a short-handed Dallas Mavericks team on January 28, 2026. Even without Irving to test his theory, Edwards made his presence felt on the stat sheet.

The face of the franchise finished the night with 20 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals in 38 minutes of action. While Julius Randle led the scoring charge with a massive 31 points, Edwards served as the engine that kept the Wolves ahead.

On the other hand, PJ Washington tried to keep the Mavericks afloat with 21 points, but Dallas clearly missed the offensive intensity of its star backcourt.

Irving has historically been a nightmare for Minnesota, averaging 31.6 points in his last ten contests against them. However, as the Timberwolves currently have a 34–22 record and one of the weakest defenses in the league, Edwards is eager for the chance to prove his defensive ability. For now, the NBA world can only imagine what a duel between these two would be like, but Edwards has already made his choice.

Anthony Edwards calls Stephen Curry a ‘GOAT’ but there’s a problem

Seeing Stephen Curry wearing a pair of signature shoes usually involves his own brand, but the Golden State Warriors superstar decided to shake things up during NBA All-Star weekend in San Francisco.

Curry was seen wearing a “Gold Medal” edition of the AE 1 Low, which is the signature sneaker of Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. It was a game-changer moment that left the normally confident Edwards feeling like a starstruck teenager on the sidelines.

Edwards has never been shy about his admiration for the greatest shooter of all time. He called Curry the GOAT, though he did it with a classic Edwards twist. “Goat Curry… He doesn’t know it but he’s actually me, his alternate ego is me.”

Anthony Edwards is also a favorite of the players. He loves to joke with stars ranging from LeBron to KD and many more, a glimpse of which fans got to see during the Olympics.

In fact, the relationship between the two also dates back to the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they helped Team USA win the gold medal. During a game against the Warriors last year, Edwards was seen breaking league protocol by hiding his phone on the bench to take photos of Curry wearing his kicks.

Edwards admitted that he feels like a kid again, noting that he has grown up wearing Curry’s shoes since middle school and even attended Curry’s basketball camp before coming to the league.

Seeing the four-time champion lace up his signature line was a big moment for Edwards, especially since Curry is currently navigating a high-profile sneaker free agency.

While the actual All-Star Game featuring the new Team USA vs. Team World format is still hours away, the viral moment involving AE1 Lowes has already stolen the show. For Edwards, seeing a player he idolized wearing his gear solidified the “alter ego” story he likes to pursue.

Anthony Edwards goes viral for statement on Luka Doncic

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards apparently doesn’t care much for Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic. During his Antland event hosted by Adidas at NBA All-Star Weekend, Edwards made a comment about Doncic while signing autographs for young fans.

A young fan wearing Luka Doncic’s jersey asked Anthony Edwards to sign it. However, the 24-year-old star made it clear how he feels about Doncic before turning down the young fan’s request. However, Edwards said it with a smile as he continued signing basketballs and other merchandise.

“I don’t really fuck with Luca [Doncic]Edwards said.

Both players were named All-Stars this year. However, Edwards is considering not playing due to injury, as he may opt to rest in preparation for the final portion of the regular season. Doncic, meanwhile, is expected to play in the All-Star Game.

The Timberwolves and Lakers have played against each other twice so far this season, with Los Angeles winning both contests. The two teams are scheduled to play for the third time on March 10, giving Anthony Edwards and his teammates a chance to avoid a season sweep. Either way, these games are a fun matchup, as Edwards and Doncic are superstar talents in the NBA.

Edwards, who is in his sixth season in the league, was named an All-Star for the fourth consecutive year. He has been a monster for the Timberwolves this season, as he has averaged 29.3 points (career-high), 5.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, while shooting 49.3% from the floor and 40.2% from beyond the three-point line.

Meanwhile, Luka Doncic is headed for the Lakers. The 26-year-old guard is averaging 32.8 points (league leader), 7.8 rebounds and 8.6 assists per contest this season. He also has a 47.3% field goal percentage and 34.5% three-point percentage.
