Auston Matthews trade to Minnesota Wild? Why is the blockbuster idea gaining popularity?

Auston Matthews and his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs are uncertain. After a difficult year in Toronto, the organization hired a new general manager and fired head coach Craig Berube. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are the hope for the Maple Leafs, and Matthews will have to step up to impress to stay afloat.

However, what about the possibility of Matthews being traded to the Minnesota Wild? The blockbuster business idea has gained some popularity on social media in recent weeks.

Why the Auston Matthews-to-Minnesota trade discussion is suddenly surfacing

NHL: Minnesota Wild at Toronto Maple Leafs

Matthews wants to see what Toronto does during the 2026 NHL offseason before committing to another year. If the 28-year-old superstar isn’t happy with the Maple Leafs, he could request a trade to another organization. Wild figures to be one of the most attractive options for Matthews.

Minnesota is looking to acquire an elite center, and Matthews would be a perfect fit. Matthews played with Quinn Hughes, Matt Boldy and Brock Faber at the Winter Olympics, so he will be reunited with his teammates with the Wild. Minnesota is one of several teams that may be interested in Matthews, but why would he consider a blockbuster trade?

Why the Minnesota Wild would even consider a blockbuster move

The Wild just need to improve their roster. After acquiring Hughes, the organization made the second round of the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs before being eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche. Minnesota clearly needs an elite center, and Matthews would be a great pick-up.

Matthews already has chemistry with Hughes, Boldy and Faber, so it won’t be a long adjustment period. The Wild know that another trade for an elite player would put them on Colorado’s level. Whether it’s Matthews or a different NHL star, a trade appears to be on the horizon.

How Auston Matthews will change the Minnesota Wild’s offense

NHL: Toronto Maple Leafs, Auston Matthews at Vegas Golden Knights

Matthews would solve Minnesota’s issues at the center position. The Maple Leafs star’s elite goalscoring will give the Wild one of the league’s best 1-2 punches, with Kirill Kaprizov under long-term contract. These two stars, combined with Hughes and Faber, will fix Minnesota’s power play and make it arguably the best unit in the NHL.

The Wild will be able to control the offensive pace with Matthews and Hughes. It also allows other centers to thrive in smaller roles, giving Minnesota more depth. A trade for Matthews would give the Wild an effective five-on-five attack that will be a threat every night.

What needs to happen to land Auston Matthews in the jungle?S

The Wild would absolutely need to trade for Matthews. If the 28-year-old superstar requests a trade, there will be multiple teams bidding for his services. The only way for the Wild to acquire Matthews on a waiver is for him to tell Toronto he wants “Minnesota, and only Minnesota”.

It could happen, but Minnesota can’t count on it. The organization would have to send elite prospects and multiple first-round draft picks to start the conversation. Jonas Brodin and Jesper Wallstad would be a good starting point, but depending on the market, the Maple Leafs could demand more.

Major obstacles coming in the way of Matthews business

NHL: Anaheim Ducks, Auston Matthews to Toronto Maple Leafs
Visualize images via Reuters Connect

The biggest hurdle is Matthews’ absolute no-movement clause. If the Toronto star requests a trade he will essentially be able to choose his next destination. Therefore, if there is another team that Matthews has as his preferred destination, Minnesota may be out of luck.

Matthews has a cap hit of $13.25 million, so the Wild will have to figure out how to work it within their payroll. This could limit the team around Matthews, Hughes and other stars. However, it all comes back to Matthews and his desires. If Minnesota isn’t his top landing spot, it could be difficult to make a deal.

What could happen next in the Auston Matthews trade rumors?

For now, Matthews is looking forward to seeing what Toronto can do to build a Stanley Cup playoff contender this offseason. If the Maple Leafs convince him of their long-term plan, it could put the trade rumors to rest, at least for a while. Another bad season could push Matthews to the breaking point where he wants to win a Stanley Cup outside of Toronto.

The next step will be to keep an eye on Toronto’s moves. Will this be enough to convince Matthews to return for a second season? If so, the idea could be pursued next offseason or revisited during the 2026–27 NHL season. Minnesota wants to establish an elite center, and if Matthews is available, it should make every effort to make it happen.

Blockbuster trade coming? Los Angeles Lakers target major 2026 offseason move

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to return to the NBA Finals. After trading for Luka Doncic, the Lakers are trying to build a team that is capable of winning multiple championships. After being eliminated in the second round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, Los Angeles needs improvement, and it could make a blockbuster trade this offseason.

As Dan Woik and Sam Amick of The Athletic reported, the Lakers are expected to be aggressive in the trade market during the 2026 NBA offseason. Los Angeles was interested in Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo during the 2026 NBA trade deadline, so it could always make the rounds ahead of the NBA Draft.

After completing one of the biggest trades in NBA history for Doncic, the Lakers’ work is not done yet. However, who could be a target for Los Angeles on the trade market?

Potential trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2026 offseason

If the Lakers want to be aggressive on the trade market, there are a few players that make sense. The list starts with Antetokounmpo; However, does the organization have the assets to make the deal? It doesn’t seem like a very realistic possibility, but the trade block won’t be without elite talent.

New Orleans Pelicans forwards Trey Murphy Jr. and Herb Jones would be great additions to the team. Murphy scored 21.5 points per game while shooting 37.9% from the three-point line during the 2025–26 NBA season. Meanwhile, Jones would give the Lakers an elite defensive player who can also create offense.

What about Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler? If extension talks don’t go well with Utah, the Lakers could get an elite defensive center who can score and rebound very well. Kessler is a restricted free agent, so this will likely require a trade unless the offer sheet is too high for the Jazz’s liking this offseason.

The Lakers need starting centers, shooting and bench depth for the 2026-27 NBA season. Antetokounmpo would be a dream acquisition, but Murphy, Jones and Kessler all represent great options moving forward. The focus may start on the Bucks star, but end somewhere else

Los Angeles wants to return to the NBA Finals with LeBron James, and may need a blockbuster trade to accomplish that goal.

Big rumor surprisingly links the Chiefs and 49ers to blockbuster trade soon

Philadelphia Eagles star receiver AJ Brown leaving Philly seems less like an “if” and more like a ticking game clock. And once he hits the trade block, half the league will be lining up to play. Even after watching Brown burn on the game’s biggest stage, the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid would clearly love to add that kind of firepower to the offense.

Talk of Casey potentially making a move for the Browns has intensified, and on paper, it looks like a cheat code. But that’s probably where the discussion of fantasy football should stop. Reid has built the Chiefs into a dynasty by leaning into a team-first culture, maximizing players’ roles and keeping the locker room ego-free. Putting a high-maintenance alpha receiver in that system could spoil the chemistry that has helped Kansas City stack up to Lombardi.

Patrick Mahomes could get a massive WR upgrade if Chiefs hire AJ Brown

kansas city chiefs
Denny Medley-Images Images

SportsBoom’s NFL insider Jason La Canfora listed the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars as potential trade destinations for AJ Brown.

“For example, the Chiefs were tied to several top receivers going into the draft,” La Canfora noted, “but instead they spent the first two days solidifying Steve Spagnuolo’s defense.”

Still, Casey adding a true WR1 makes a lot of sense. The Chiefs are trying to get back into full dynasty mode, and this could be Travis Kelce’s final trip to the Hall of Fame. Additionally, Kansas City will want to take some pressure off Patrick Mahomes as he tries to recover from ACL and LCL injuries he suffered last December.

Brown may no longer be the shiny new rookie, but the man still moves the chains like few receivers in football. He’s physical, explosive and ridiculously reliable — exactly the kind of weapon that can turn Mahomes’ offense into a weekly fireworks show. Right now, Rashee Rice is the only proven wideout on the depth chart. Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton and rookie Cyrus Allen still have a lot to prove before anyone can crown them reliable playmakers. The addition of a battle-tested star like Brown immediately raises KC’s ceiling.

Meanwhile, in Philly, the writing is beginning to appear on the wall. The Browns reportedly want out after contract talks with the Philadelphia Eagles stalled, and the team drafting top receiver Makai Lemon has only fueled trade discussions. With Devonta Smith already locked in as a cornerstone piece, Brown suddenly looks a lot more dynamic than untouchable.

Los Angeles Rams insider says to ‘keep an eye’ on blockbuster trade

If football fans have learned one thing about Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead, it’s that he’s not afraid to make a big move. The latest evidence came on the first night of the 2026 NFL Draft, when the Rams surprised everyone by taking Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson with the 13th overall pick in the first round.

Simpson was projected as a second-day draft pick, but as they say, it just takes a team to believe in his abilities. This year, it was Ram.

While the decision to draft Simpson was clearly a move for the future, some believe the Rams are eyeing a trade that could solidify their status as a Super Bowl contender this season.

especially, athleticRams insider Nate Atkins suggests fans should “keep an eye on Max Crosby.”

“I’ll also keep an eye on Max Crosby,” Atkins wrote. “They seem to have straightened things out with the Las Vegas Raiders after the trade reversal with the Baltimore Ravens, but the organization’s outlook could change if the Raiders have another tough start to the season.”

Of course, the Las Vegas Raiders had already agreed to trade him once. Can they do it again? It certainly can’t be ruled out, especially if first-year head coach Clint Kubiak is off to a rough start.

While the idea of adding the five-time Pro Bowl sack artist is exciting, Atkins believes any trade discussions are unlikely to accelerate until October. Only then will everyone have a better understanding of their direction.

Proposed blockbuster lands Giannis Antetokounmpo with Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets’ 2025–26 season ended with a major disappointment, with another first-round exit. The big move to trade for Kevin Durant last offseason has been a flop, as the team has fallen from the 2nd-seed in the West in 2024-25 to the 5th-seed this season.

We kept hearing that Durant wasn’t fitting in with his new Rockets teammates. And between their burner-account controversy, in which Durant was thought to be criticizing his fellow Rockets on Twitter/X, and his inability to connect with the team, it was a disaster.

So the question now is, will the Rockets double down on Durant and try to bring in another disgruntled superstar to pair with him?

If that’s the case, The Athletic’s senior NBA analyst Sam Veseni has suggested the outlines of a blockbuster deal the Rockets should consider. This would bring in Giannis Antetokounmpo, but would include removing Alpern Sengun:

houston rockets receive: :

get the milwaukee bucks: :

  • alperen sengun
  • reed shepard
  • first round pick

“Given the fit of Sengun and Amen (Thompson), given his complete lack of shooting, I would call for Milwaukee to see if Sengun could be the centerpiece in a Giannis deal,” Veseni said.

He completed his hypothetical offer with the thought that the Bucks would have another young Rockets star.

“If I’m Milwaukee, I’m asking for amen, but if I’m Houston I don’t want to do that.”

Will the Rockets pursue another superstar this summer?

Veseni isn’t the only expert considering a big move for the Rockets this summer. Sam Amick at The Athletic also wondered what Houston’s path forward would look like after another playoff miss this season.

They’ll have to decide whether to double down on the roster with obvious concerns or perhaps go all-in — once again — while chasing another superstar this summer when Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard or Donovan Mitchell might be up for grabs.

Whether it’s Giannis, Kawhi or Spida, expect to hear from the Rockets involving some intriguing trade rumors this offseason.

Detroit Red Wings expected to make blockbuster trade in 2026 NHL offseason

The Detroit Red Wings need to make a big splash during the 2026 NHL offseason. Following the 2025–26 NHL season, Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman stated that the organization needed better players to make the Stanley Cup playoffs. Now, a prominent NHL insider is throwing more gas on the fire for Detroit.

If the Red Wings don’t make a big trade or move this summer, people will be “surprised,” as Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports on the 32 Thoughts Podcast. This has been one of the most talked about aspects of Detroit’s offseason and all signs point towards a trade or signing for an elite offensive forward.

Who could the Detroit Red Wings trade for during the 2026 offseason?

NHL: Dallas Stars at Detroit Red Wings
Rick Osentoski-Imagen Images

The Red Wings are expected to make a major trade during the 2026 NHL offseason and top six forwards should be the first priority. Yzerman said there were issues with five-on-five play and goal scoring during the 2025–26 NHL season, so a physical, high-profile offensive player would be the best fit. There are some names which are different from the rest.

If Detroit is looking to land a big move, they should try to acquire Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk or Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews. These may be hypotheticals, but if any of these guys are actually involved in trade rumors this summer, the organization should run. If not, Detroit has other options it can consider in the trade market.

Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson would be a perfect fit. Robertson is an incredible offensive player, currently having 49 goals between the regular season and playoffs. The situation in Dallas is tough and the star forward is due to get a new contract after the season.

The Stars will have Robertson’s rights as a restricted free agent, so it would be wise to extract value if the organization doesn’t have room for him long-term. The Red Wings have the space and assets to do that and Robertson would be a great addition.

If not, there are other players still on the market, like Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson and St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas. While neither of them are at the same height as Tkachuk, Matthews or Robertson, they would provide a much-needed boost to Detroit’s offense.

The NHL would be surprised if the Red Wings fail to make a blockbuster move, so that should give them a reason to feel that way.

4 bold NY Jets trade ideas for the No. 2 pick, including a blockbuster Jammer Chase deal

The only positive side of the New York Jets’ ugly three-win season in 2025 was landing the No. 2 pick in this month’s NFL Draft. Although it’s not the top pick, the team may still get the best player in the 2026 class as the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to take Fernando Mendoza – the best QB in the quarterback class in week one – with the No. 1 pick.

For several weeks, the Jets have been projected to take Texas Tech’s David Bailey or Ohio State star Arvel Reese. However, there is another option, and that is to use their very valuable selection in a trade to accumulate additional picks and fill more needs, or acquire a proven star from a rival team. Especially since he is the second selection in Round 1 (No. 16).

With that in mind, let’s take a look at four bold trades the Jets could make with the No. 2 pick in next week’s NFL Draft.

trade for max crosby

max crosby
Eric Hartline-Imagen Images

One of the biggest surprises this offseason was the Baltimore Ravens’ backtracking on their blockbuster trade for five-time Pro Bowler Max Crosby. That deal would have given the Raiders a pair of first-round draft picks, including the 16th pick the following week.

If Las Vegas still wants to move Crosby, they are unlikely to get two first-down picks after the pass rusher’s medical records are referred to the Ravens’ medical team. However, acquiring the No. 2 pick, as well as the Jets’ additional picks in rounds 2 and 4, and the third in 2027, could trouble the Raiders. This would help Las Vegas get the QB they need in one class and possibly the best player in this year’s class in two.

Traded to Kansas City Chiefs for picks No. 9 and 29

jet
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

With the current streak of 15 years out of the playoffs and one 3-win year, the Jets need all the elite and affordable prospects they can get. That’s why they could consider a deal where they give up their selection for two first-rounders (Nos. 9 and 29) to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the pick at nine, they could go after a top cornerback like LSU’s Mansur Delaney or Ohio State stud receiver Carnell Tate. With that fourth and final pick in Round 1, another corner like Colton Hood or QB prospect Ty Simpson could be an option.

Trade for Ja’Marr Chase

ja'marr chase
Katie Stratman-Imagen Images

If Aaron Glenn wants Geno Smith to return to his Pro Bowl form, the more weapons the better. That’s why using their pick at No. 2 and going after an elite weapon like the Cincinnati Bengals’ superstar receiver Jamar Chase should be in play.

The Bengals are a mess and have invested a lot of money in three players on offense. Although they would love to keep Chase, he is the best business asset they can consider transferring. That would give them two top-10 picks and a chance to replace star pass rusher, Trey Hendrickson.

Trade up for picks No. 12 and 20 to the Dallas Cowboys

jet
Kirby Lee-Images Images

The Dallas Cowboys are another first-round team that has a couple of options. Jerry Jones will likely fall by himself to go No. 2 overall. Because of the value, New York could get the likes of Dallas on days 12 and 20, as well as something on the third day of the event.

In such a deal, the Jets could use the second pick at No. 12 to go after a top offensive lineman like Kaidin Proctor or Francis Mauigoa, and at No. 20, they could target receiver Denzel Boston or defensive tackle Peter Woods as a potential replacement for Quinnen Williams.

Blockbuster trade brewing? Detroit Red Wings Eye Major 2026 Offseason Move

The Detroit Red Wings need to make a move during the 2026 NHL offseason. After a late-season collapse, the Red Wings fell from leading the Eastern Conference to falling out of playoff contention. However, could Detroit consider making a blockbuster trade during the 2026 NHL offseason?

It looks like the Red Wings could make a move using several of their young assets in a trade package this summer, as David Pagnotta reports on DFO Rundown. Pagnoto said it could be similar to when the Montreal Canadiens acquired defenseman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders.

If so, where should Detroit target in a potential blockbuster trade?

What position should the Detroit Red Wings target in a trade?

NHL: Detroit Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs
Dan Hamilton-Imagen Images

The Red Wings had several weaknesses to close the 2025–26 NHL season. Detroit lacked scoring in five of five games and did not perform as expected in the bottom six. So, it’s pretty clear that the Red Wings need scoring. Whether it’s from a defenseman or a forward, Detroit needs to find one this summer.

Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman had the opportunity to acquire defenseman Quinn Hughes in December 2025, but decided not to do so without an extension. It came back to haunt Detroit. However, what if the Minnesota Wild knew Hughes would not be moving on? Although unlikely, it could open the door again.

More than likely, the Minnesota star will not be on the table this offseason. The Red Wings would love to have Hughes lead the offense and defense with Mo Cider, but that doesn’t seem realistic right now. Therefore, the focus should be on acquiring an elite forward who can lead the team offensively.

There are some options. Obviously, Auston Matthews would be a valuable asset if he demands a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs. What happens to Brady Tkachuk if he does the same with the Ottawa Senators? Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson would also be an excellent addition.

These are top choices, so they may not be that realistic. However, Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson and St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas should also be on the trade block. Needless to say, Detroit has plenty of options on the table, even if it isn’t a true NHL superstar like Matthews or Tkachuk.

The Red Wings could be the top team to watch during the 2026 NHL offseason. If so, the roster could look quite different this summer.

Angel Reese stuns as bronzed goddess in Victoria’s Secret campaign after blockbuster Atlanta trade

Someone call Victoria, because her secret is officially out. Angel Reese isn’t just a straight-up baller on the court; She is also bringing the same star power. Angel Reese is redefining what it means to own that room — even when that room is in the middle of the ocean, and the cameras are rolling.

Fashion and sports have always crossed each other’s path, but now? This is different. The lines are blurry, the stakes are big, and the bag is very heavy. Athletes are no longer just throwing around their names as brand endorsers – they are the brand.

Angel Reese levels up with major fashion power move

The former Chicago Sky forward—and utter cultural force—has stepped into a new lane this season: Victoria’s Secret campaign star. And yes… she didn’t creep in, she kicked the door open. Dressed in a dark gray strapless suit with a bold front cutout, Angel Reese posed under running water for shots that basically broke the Internet. The vibe was equal amounts of athlete energy and old-school glamour, which is pretty much her signature at the moment. Reese shared a carousel of photos from the photoshoot on her Instagram.

That suit wasn’t just about looking good. It was made to make a statement. The strapless cut and front detailing played with enough skin to feel risky but still intentional. Add oversized earrings and stacked bracelets, and suddenly you’ve got an edge. And Elegance. Throw in the water-drenched setup, and the whole thing hits like a cinematic moment – raw, moody, and unapologetically loud.

Nothing seemed random about it. Every frame was oozing control, confidence and screaming “yes, I know exactly what I’m doing!” Blink, and you’ll miss it. But hey, no one is looking the other way.

And let’s be real – this isn’t the first time she’s coming out like this. In 2023, Reese performed in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue right after leading the LSU Lady Tigers to a national title. Fast forward to 2025, and she’s making history again by walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside stars like Suni Lee.

At just 22 years old, Reese is already one of the most recognizable faces in American sports — and she didn’t get there by playing it safe. From LSU to the W, his rise has been more than buckets; It’s about showing up as her full, unfiltered self. That kind of authenticity? You can’t fake it, and brands know it.

That’s why this move makes sense. Victoria’s Secret isn’t the same brand it used to be — and Reese is stepping in strapless season The campaign feels bigger than any other collaboration. It feels like a change.

Who is hotter? Sun or Angel Reese? You tell us.

Blues, Sabers working on blockbuster trade for Robert Thomas

The St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabers are working on a trade that will shock the entire NHL. As TSN’s Darren Dreger reports, trade talks between the Blues and Sabers involving Robert Thomas are “heating up.” St.Louis is serious about trading Thomas after weeks of speculation.

As The Athletic’s Chris Johnston reports, Buffalo has been viewed as a “dark horse team” for the Blues center in the NHL. Other teams have also been linked to Thomas, such as the Utah Mammoth and Boston Bruins. Right now, the Sabers may be close to a deal for one of the best NHL players on the block.

The 26-year-old center will ignite Buffalo’s offense, giving the team a better chance to make the Stanley Cup playoffs. After years of selling off elite players, Buffalo may be on the opposite side of a transaction. After all, Thomas has been an 80-point player in the past two seasons, and he has scored at least 21 goals in this period.

St. Louis will likely get a massive move for Thomas, possibly including multiple first-round picks and prospects. The St. Louis center moving to Buffalo would likely open the door to NHL trades, with Eastern Conference teams struggling to respond. However, there is nothing pending at this time.

Thomas has 12 goals and 35 points in 43 games this season as the Blues look to sell before the NHL trade deadline. The St. Louis center is likely to be traded in the next few days, and the Sabers are heavily in the mix. If Buffalo can get this deal across the finish line, it could be the catalyst to end the 14-year-old playoff draft.

Minnesota Wild linked to blockbuster trade for Olympic gold medalist

The Minnesota Wild are looking for an upgrade at center by the NHL trade deadline. After trading for defenseman Quinn Hughes, the Wild hope to complete their roster to make a big push at the Stanley Cup. Now, Minnesota is being linked to a big trade of the Olympic gold medalist to Team USA.

Minnesota is still in pursuit of New York Rangers center Vincent Trocheck, reports Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on TNT. Trocheck, who was part of the Olympic gold medal team for the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics, is the main focus of New York’s trade deadline plans.

The 32-year-old center has 12 goals and 38 points in 45 games with New York this season. Despite New York’s struggles, Trocheck is still performing at an elite level, especially on the power play. Trocheck is a top-six option for a Stanley Cup-caliber team, and Minnesota would be a perfect fit.

Hughes, along with Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy and Brock Faber, have the Wild poised for big performances in the Western Conference. The Minnesota trade for Trocheck would officially solidify their place among Stanley Cup contending teams. Currently, the Wild are in third place in the Central Division with 80 points.

Trocheck is under contract for the 2028–29 NHL season with a $5.625 million cap hit. The 32-year-old center is still performing at a high level, and his cap hit is good for teams to acquire. Minnesota has been searching for an elite center since December, and Trocheck would check the box.

Dallas Cowboys ‘open’ to blockbuster offer involving key trade asset

Last year, just before the season started, the Dallas Cowboys surprised everyone by selling the face of their franchise, Micah Parsons. The Cowboys received Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks in the Parsons trade. Now they may be ready to trade one of their top assets again this offseason.

Recently, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones revealed that the team is “open-minded” to trading one of its two first-round selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.

“It’s hard to project, but we’re definitely open-minded,” Jones said. “If the right guy fits, if he’s a perfect fit, we’ll definitely look at it.”

The Cowboys have the 12th and 20th picks in the first round, the latter of which stems from the Parsons trade with the Packers. Dallas acquired two star defensive tackles last season, and now they are switching to a multiple defense with a 3-4 base scheme.

It’s possible they’ll use some of their draft compensation and cap space to acquire another proven edge rusher to help offset the loss of Parsons. Either way, with Pro Bowl receiver George Pickens set for free agency, the Cowboys will have some big decisions this offseason, and trading a first-round pick could certainly be part of the equation.
