The Heat will build their team around Adebayo and Antetokounmpo, which should be enough to get them back into contention if everyone stays healthy. The only issue is that many other NBA organizations will feel the same way. Antetokounmpo will put them over the top.

“It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever personally experienced,” Turner said.

Turner also noted how bad his teammates were when it came to showing up for team flights. If the plane was supposed to depart at 2:00 pm, by the time everyone had arrived, it would have departed at least a few hours later. “I’m being very serious, brother. It was crazy,” Turner said.

This became so frequent that Turner deliberately did not appear until an hour after the flight’s departure. When Stewart asked who was the biggest culprit in terms of delays, Turner admitted it was 10-time All-Star Antetokounmpo.

He said, “Giannis will really play whenever he wants. I think it just comes with the territory.”

He will give them both a defensive force on the front line and a good scorer who will help make up for the points left due to losing the Browns.

The biggest issue is that Sacramento will have to find a trade for Zach LaVine and/or DeMar DeRozan after a deal is made.

The Celtics don’t need to trade Brown to be better in 2026-27. However, this would mean they would have to move on from fan-favorite defensive player Derrick White. A potential trade could see the two-time All-Defensive Team honoree sent to the Toronto Raptors for centers Jakob Poeltl and Grady Dick.

While it’s not a sexy trade on the surface, Poeltl is a rock-solid and strong anchor in the front court that does everything you need to stabilize that position. As for Dick, he could be a potential steal who could be an impact player in Joe Mazzulla’s three-point-heavy attack.

Since Brown had such an impressive season, another option would be a swap for Milwaukee Bucks great Giannis Antetokounmpo. While the Greek icon has more accolades, Brown is a few years younger and far healthier than the 10-time All-Star has been in recent years. If necessary, the Celtics can add a future first-rounder, but they shouldn’t add more than that.

The Bucks will get to build a new star in his prime, while the Celtics can experiment with the combo of Antetokounmpo and Tatum for a season. If that doesn’t work out, they free up a ton of cap space after next season if he opts out in search of a new long-term deal.

An interesting young star who could be on the trade block this summer, and who addresses the Celtics’ frontcourt needs, is Houston Rockets two-time All-Star Alpern Sengun. While he has been questioned for his play consistently and early in the playoffs, he is still only 23 and has excelled in Ime Udoka’s defense-first system.

Houston would be interested in a championship by pairing Jaylen Brown with Kevin Durant in 2026-27. But Sengun and Tatum have plenty of long-term potential. Additionally, to make the money work, the Celtics would get veteran guard Fred VanVleet (if he opts into the final year of his deal) and two future first-round picks.

Miami is an organization that thinks long term. Antetokounmpo will be looking for an even bigger contract over the next few years while on a career decline. They will then “attempt to sign both Draymond Green (to replace his $27.7 million player option) and Kristaps Porzingis to moderate two-year deals, probably both around two years, $40 million.” This would give the franchise “approximately $184 million in total commitments for eight players”. Then add $6 million for a player taken in Round 1 of the NBA Draft – that pick will likely be around No. 11. Taking them to $194 million, which is $11 million under the tax threshold.

The second part of the plan will try to convince Leonard to join the team on the $15 million non-taxpayer mid-level exception. He admits it’s not a guarantee, but adding a high-impact player with championship potential when fully healthy is the best option.

It’s a plan that will require a bit of luck, but the chance to get on the Warriors roster and a stud prospect in the lottery may appeal to Leonard if he wants to stay in California and pursue another championship. Coincidentally, the Bucks and Heat were scheduled to face off in the next game following Giannis’ praise of Adebayo and his 83-point performance. As could be expected, these two hugged each other before the game and their matchup with each other did not disappoint.

Antetokounmpo finished the game with 31 points and six rebounds in 29 minutes, while Adebayo had 21 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Although Giannis won the scoring battle between the two big men, it was Adebayo’s team that came away with a 112-105 victory.

Once again, Giannis’ postgame comments add to the mystery of what’s really going through his mind regarding a potential offseason departure. It’s very clear that Antetokounmpo wants to win, and if he can’t do it with the Bucks, maybe he can do it with Bam in Miami.

After all, from Antetokounmpo’s own comments it sounds like Adebayo is his ideal future teammate.

“Obviously, whenever I play against Bam, it’s always extra motivation. I think he’s one of the best players in the NBA,” Giannis said Thursday night in Miami. “One of the best two-way players in the NBA. One of the best 4-5 players in the league.”

“Whenever I go to him, I don’t need to see 83 points on the board or follow the hype to find extra motivation to protect the balm. I think it goes both ways.”

Could the Heat’s dream of landing Giannis in a blockbuster offseason trade actually come true? Time will tell what happens with the two-time NBA MVP, but it’s clear that the bond between Adebayo and Antetokounmpo is very real.

“I’m always motivated when I play against Bam. I think he knows that, and it goes both ways. He’s always motivated to play against me.”

Still, Antetokounmpo felt he made the right play, and he will never regret being aggressive in hunting his shot.

“Most of the time I do the right things, take good shots, so … I haven’t been able to do that,” Antetokounmpo said. “But still, I’m being aggressive. I don’t regret being aggressive. I regret when I’m being passive…the ball didn’t go in.”

The Dallas Mavericks have seen their fair share of ups and downs during Mark Cuban’s ownership. They have seen many top-class players play for the franchise, from Dirk Nowitzki to Luka Doncic and now Cooper Flagg.

Taurean Prince, who last played for Milwaukee in November, is listed as questionable on the official injury report, an upgrade to ‘out’ status following his surgery. Taurean Prince’s injury status vs. Suns

The veteran forward is listed as questionable after neck surgery, putting him in line for a possible return after missing nearly four months and 55 consecutive games. Prince has been working out on the court during practice and shootarounds in recent weeks, but there was little indication that a return to play is imminent.

If he dresses on Tuesday night, it will be his first NBA appearance since Milwaukee’s Nov. 4 loss to the Toronto Raptors. Last season, he missed 43.9% of his three-point attempts on 4.2 attempts per game, which ranked third best in the NBA among qualified shooters.

The Bucks enter the matchup with a 27-36 record and come into this game coming off a lopsided 130-91 loss to the Orlando Magic. Phoenix enter the competition in much better form.

The Milwaukee Bucks faltered again, falling to 26-35 after losing 131-113 to the Atlanta Hawks at Fiserv Forum. Giannis Antetokounmpo played well but could not help his team. Following the Bucks’ loss, according to Eurohoops’ Johnny Askonis recap, Antetokounmpo lamented the loss and challenged his team afterward.

“I was a little disappointed. I feel like when you’re down 11 or 12, you just have to play smart, try to take the best shots possible, be in the right spots. At the end of the day, we all have to be on the same page,” Antetokounmpo told Askonis.

Antetokounmpo scored 24 points while making 10 of 15 shots from the floor. However, the rest of the players of his team could not do anything special. The offense still shot 50% on the night, but allowed the Hawks to shoot 54.3%, including 44.4% from triples.

Bucks need to start fresh, move on from Doc Rivers

Despite having a 30–13 record, the Bucks made the surprise decision to fire Adrian Griffin and replace him with Doc Rivers as the team’s head coach in 2024. They finished the season under .500 under Rivers (they went 19–20) and lost in the first round of the playoffs against the eventual conference finalists Indiana Pacers.

Now, this isn’t going to turn into Griffin’s defense. By all accounts, the Bucks locker room questioned his strategy because Griffin had not maximized the team’s personnel. But reports revealed that when Griffin called his players out he took it in stride, although the fact that he did meant that his respect for them was fractured from the start.

Still, Griffin coached a terrible defense, and it was clear Antetokounmpo was growing tired of his schemes. They replaced Griffin with Rivers, who at least has the respect of people in the locker room.

This may be Rivers’ only save at this stage of his coaching career. Everyone knows the story with Rivers: He won a title with the Boston Celtics in 2008, maintains a sense of professionalism in the locker room that commands respect from everyone on the team, and he’s a consistent win producer, at least in the regular season.

Rivers has had his fair share of black eyes in the playoffs. He is the only head coach in NBA history to lead multiple 3–1 playoff series. His star-studded teams perform poorly under the bright lights of the postseason. But that’s all moot when the Bucks team he’s currently coaching couldn’t even make the start of the postseason.

Some Bucks fans may be wondering why Rivers hasn’t been fired yet. The results have not been there, and there has been nothing but disappointment in the Cream City since the team brought him in. It’s clear his voice still has influence in the locker room, and Antetokounmpo is at least there to stay with him unlike Griffin.

The Bucks’ shortcomings this season aren’t really Rivers’ fault. The team he is currently coaching is not very good anyway. But he’s not really adding wins to the team. Some of his rotation decisions recently were surprising; Why did Kyle Kuzma not play at all in their recent loss to the Boston Celtics? Why was Ryan Rollins, of all people, benched upon Antetokounmpo’s return?

It’s time for a fresh start for the Bucks under the tutelage of a well-known coach who knows how to handle a locker room with big egos. And for once, the Bucks will have to enlist the services of a new voice, an up-and-coming assistant who has paid his dues during his time in the NBA.

Why Mika Nori deserves a chance in Milwaukee?

Nouri has been an assistant coach in the NBA for 17 seasons, and he is currently part of the Minnesota Timberwolves coaching staff under head coach Chris Finch. He is the main assistant of the team, as he replaces Finch if he is out or misses time due to personal reasons or injury.

Most accounts state that Nori is adept at managing game situations, meaning his main strength is adjusting to what he sees on the court. Now, the head coaching job requires much more than mastering such skills. Still, his tactical plans could be what brings Antetokounmpo on board for at least the next few years.

If there’s one thing Antetokounmpo wants from a coach, it’s defensive consistency and communication. Nori provides both; Players have appreciated the Timberwolves assistant’s ability to build relationships with them, and he has been instrumental in crafting a Minnesota defense that routinely ranks top-10 in the NBA.

Given that the Bucks lack scoring weapons around Antetokounmpo, getting it done on defense should be priority number one for them. They are currently ranked 24th in that department, so that won’t make the cut. They have solid individual pieces on defense, Kevin Porter Jr. and Rollins are very disruptive, and Myles Turner has a long history of adequate rim protection, but it hasn’t come together under Rivers.

Now, the Bucks may need an experienced head coach to reassign Antetokounmpo. But Milwaukee needs to avoid retreading head coaches at all costs. And there may be no better candidate for the potential Bucks head coaching vacancy than Nouri.

According to photos shared by Antetokounmpo on social media, the sneaker appears to be his latest signature Freak 8. Appearing in a Hyper Pink and Metallic Gold colorway, we see a completely updated silhouette from the previous Freak 7. While similarities can be seen in the wavy midsole and chunky support system, all Nike Giannis sneakers have their own unique aspects and designs.

Previously, the backwards Nike Swoosh served as a hallmark for Nike Giannis sneakers, so it’s interesting to see a clean, metallic gold Nike Swoosh with minimal branding and a center back. The shoes feature a contrasting tongue as we wait for further looks to see what is included in the design of the tongue and rear heel.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been going into battle without Giannis Antetokounmpo for some time now, as he is still trying to recover from his right calf strain. There should be some optimism over his return, as he was spotted working out during pregame, but there are probably still some benchmarks he needs to meet before he is cleared to return to the court.

Head coach Doc Rivers recently gave an update on Antetokounmpo, and it looks like he could be the closer.

“No. He’s done some 3-on-3, 4-on-4. We don’t really need to go to 5-on-5. It doesn’t go from 3 to 4 to 5. Usually 4-on-4 is pretty good… no shock,” Rivers said, via Ari Nehm of The Athletic.

Antetokounmpo has been dealing with calf strains for the past few seasons, so he probably knows the process he needs to go through to return. There’s also no doubt that he’s desperate to return to help his teammates as he bids for a chance to make the playoffs in the second half of the season.

Without Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have won few games, and they are getting contributions from several players. One of them is Cam Thomas, who they signed before the All-Star break.

They were recently able to defeat the Miami Heat, and it was Kevin Porter Jr. who led the way, finishing with 32 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

The Bucks will need a lot of wins to climb up the standings for a potential play-in spot, but with Antetokounmpo, they may have a good chance to do so. The only thing is that they have to hope that the teams above them start losing, which could be a difficult task.

They have an NBA-best 13 first-round picks over the next seven years. Michael Porter Jr. or Nic Claxton could serve as the main salary filler in an Antetokounmpo deal. Brooklyn could also include young prospects like Nolan Traore, De’Ron Sharp, Noah Clowney, Drake Powell and Danny Wolf.

The main question surrounding the Nets’ potential pursuit of Antetokounmpo is whether they can make a deal with enough assets to build a team around the two-time MVP. With several teams pursuing the Bucks superstar at the deadline and several more teams likely to enter the equation in the offseason, the price won’t be low.
