After their Super Bowl loss, the New England Patriots are moving forward in the best way possible, by targeting more roster upgrades. We’ve already seen Patriots general manager Eliot Wolf hit the ground running in free agency again, reaching contracts with guys like Romeo Dobbs, Elijah Vera-Tucker, Draymont Jones, and Kevin Byard, to name a few.

While there will certainly be some minor free agency involved in the upcoming season, the Patriots will also have to turn their attention to the 2026 NFL Draft, which will take place April 23-25. The Patriots have 11 selections for the three-day event, and they may be focusing on one of their targets.

According to NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essential Sports, Georgia tight end prospect Oscar Delap is receiving “a lot of interest” from the Patriots.

Delap recently “crushed” his Georgia Pro Day by running a consensus but unofficial time of 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He combined this with a vertical jump of 38 inches. Pauline noted that Delp’s position work was “excellent”.

He even drew comparisons to Georgia alumnus Brock Bowers after running “quick, crisp routes” and catching the ball “extremely well.” While many regard Oregon’s Kenyon Saadiq as the best prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, Poulin says “Delap is now in the conversation for TE2.”

While the Patriots may be keeping an eye on Delp with the 63rd or 95th overall pick, he also met with the Carolina Panthers after a workout. They certainly aren’t the only team interested in the 6-foot-5 tight end.

The Atlanta Hawks have won 11 consecutive games after Wednesday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a strong game from newly acquired wing Jonathan Kuminga, who scored 16 points in the win, including an incredible shot from almost full court.

Kuminga has had a solid stint in Atlanta so far after being shipped there along with Buddy Hield from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for big man Kristaps Porzingis, and now, more details are emerging on what could happen in the future between Atlanta and Kuminga.

“There is mutual interest between the Hawks and Jonathan Kuminga in declining his 2026-27 team option worth $24.3 million and agreeing to a long-term contract,” former FullCourtPass report on Twitter, citing a report from NBA insider Jake Fisher.

It certainly makes sense why Atlanta would be interested in keeping the former 2021 lottery selection long-term given his youth, athleticism and potential to get even better. Kuminga is a perfect fit for Hawks general manager Onsi Saleh looking to build a team full of athletic wings who can play multiple positions and switch defensively, and the fact that former number one overall pick Zachary Rishachar is back in his second season could make Kuminga’s long-term contract a sensible option for Atlanta.

Meanwhile, the Hawks have risen up the Eastern Conference standings amid their winning streak, now sitting just 1.5 games out of the fifth seed, though some skeptics are pointing to the lack of quality teams Atlanta has played during their streak as a reason not to take it seriously.

The Hawks will get a chance to test their skills against a playoff-caliber opponent on Friday evening when they go on the road to take on the Houston Rockets.

Another big name that many think could be on the trade market this year is Philadelphia Eagles head AJ Brown, and now, more information is emerging from NFL insider Diana Russini of The Athletic about whether or not Denver expressed any interest in him before nixing the Waddle deal.

“Despite speculation, I’ve been told the Denver Broncos never expressed interest in trading for AJ Brown. They always had their eye on Jaylen Waddle. Sean Payton and Bo Nix are getting a new threat,” Russini, formerly of the X, told Twitter.

It remains to be seen if the Eagles will actually want to trade Brown after a tumultuous relationship with the receiver over the past few seasons, which culminated in the booing of the home fans when he dropped a key pass in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers last year.

Meanwhile, the Broncos’ offense, which couldn’t do anything in blizzard-like conditions against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, now has another proven downfield threat who is a nightmare for opposing defenses in open space.

Giving up multiple draft picks is no small price to pay, but if Waddle can stay healthy and produce, it could pay huge dividends for Denver as they try to make another deep playoff run next year.
