What about Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler? If extension talks don’t go well with Utah, the Lakers could get an elite defensive center who can score and rebound very well. Kessler is a restricted free agent, so this will likely require a trade unless the offer sheet is too high for the Jazz’s liking this offseason.

Kairi Sane has not severed her ties with WWE yet.

Brian Alvarez reports that within WWE, there is belief that Sane could appear this Saturday at Backlash in Tampa, Florida to provide some resolution to her ongoing storyline with IYO SKY and Asuka, despite being exempt from the company’s WrestleMania 42 roster cuts. Whether such an appearance would be a one-off or signal something else has not been made clear.

“Within WWE, it is felt that there is a greater than 50% chance that Kairi will appear at Backlash to at least finish that storyline,” Alvarez wrote to his subscribers on X.

A singles match between Sky and Asuka is scheduled for Saturday’s Backlash PLE at Amalie Arena in Tampa. Before her release, Sane was at the center of the storyline of that match, torn between the two as Asuka attempted to intimidate her into proving her loyalty to SKY.

Her absence from that program’s resolution was one of the more puzzling aspects of her release, and the internal belief that she might still appear in Backlash shows just how incomplete the creative thread is.

Brian Alvarez confirmed that Wecker’s shoulder problem during the backstage attack is legitimate, possibly consistent with the second-degree AC sprain that Michael Cole referenced on commentary after Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez attacked him.

Pérez rammed a tool box into Wecker’s shoulder during the segment, with Cole saying on air that Wecker would be “out for a while” as a result. It is unclear when and how the injury first occurred prior to angle airing. The attack was planned as a storyline development on Raw, but the real-world consequences of a legitimate second-degree AC sprain added a layer of uncertainty to WWE’s plans for Walker in the coming weeks.

Second degree AC sprains involve a partial tear of the acromioclavicular ligaments and recovery timelines are usually measured in weeks rather than days. This means that Wacker’s absence from ring competition could be extended in the near future, depending on how his body responds to treatment.

Wacker most recently competed at WrestleMania 42, where she lost the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan, a top match on the card. Prior to that loss, Wacker was one of WWE’s top female stars, holding the title and regularly appearing in top-of-the-card storylines.

Kairi Sane is no longer a member of the WWE roster. Sane was among 25 wrestlers released by WWE as part of the company’s WrestleMania 42 roster cuts on April 24, and PWInsider has confirmed that his release stands and no reversal is imminent. The claims circulating on social media that his release has been canceled are false. Sane has already returned to Japan, making an appearance in WWE impossible regardless of her contractual status.

The timing of the release was immediately criticized given Sane’s active involvement in the ongoing storyline with Asuka and IYO Sky. According to Fightful Select, there was considerable shock within the company over this decision, with his departure before any meaningful outcome to the feud caused massive disappointment within WWE. The program was moving towards a resolution that would never happen again, at least not with Sen involved.

The fan reaction was equally swift. The hashtag VivantCarry circulated on social media for a long time following the news, and WWE backstage interviewer Jackie Redmond posted a public reaction to the release before quickly deleting the tweet – a moment that shows how much this decision has upset people both inside and outside the company.

It appears that the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles are destined to end up trading AJ Brown. New England is likely to acquire Brown after June 1, after Philadelphia traded up in the 2026 NFL Draft to select wide receiver Makai Lemon. In fact, an NFL insider has revealed a major update on a potential trade package.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes the Patriots will send a future first-round pick to Brown, as did Insider on the Pat McAfee Show. Schefter projected it would be a 2028 first-round pick, meaning the Patriots will keep their first-round pick for a stacked 2027 NFL Draft class.

The Patriots could send a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick to acquire Brown. While wide receiver Keyshawn Boutte has been a popular add to trade packages, the Eagles don’t need to replace a superstar receiver. Instead, both organizations can focus on draft capital.

This may not be the exact package Philadelphia gets, as any third- or fourth-round selection between 2027 and 2028 would make sense. However, if the Patriots send a 2028 first-round pick, it makes the rest of the trade package easier. After all, Brown is worth a first-round pick and the 2028 NFL Draft is two years away.

If New England ultimately voids the deal, Brown will join Dobbs, Kyle Williams, Mack Hollins, Demario Douglas and Elton Chism in the wide receiver room. This is a big upgrade heading into the 2025-26 NFL season, as Stefon Diggs took over as the Patriots’ WR1. In this scenario, Diggs would be the replacement as the WR2 behind Brown in New England.

The Patriots and Eagles will likely have to wait another month, but a Browns trade should come closer.

In what is already shaping up to be one of the best rookie classes in over a decade, another wave of talent could be on the horizon. Let’s take a look at 10 top MLB prospects who could debut in the coming weeks.

1. Max Clark

Max Clark is a former third overall draft pick who is currently ranked as MLB Pipeline’s No. 8 prospect. He’s currently slashing .344/.421/.500 in Triple-A, and while he hasn’t hit any home runs yet, he’s showing off his speed with six stolen bases and eight doubles. The Tigers could also easily make room for him; All it would take is sending down Jahmai Jones, who is currently slashing .077/.077/.077.

2. Bryce Aldridge

Bryce Aldridge has already spent time in the big leagues through 2025, and while that stint was about as bad as it could go, it feels like he deserves another chance. MLB Pipeline gives him a 70 power tool, which would be a perfect fit for a Giants team that currently ranks last in MLB with just nine home runs in their first 19 games.

3. Travis Bazana

Travis Bazana was the No. 1 overall pick in 2024, and he’s already knocking on the big league door. He is currently reaching base at a .389 clip in Triple-A and slugging at .451. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s big-league second baseman, Brian Roccio, has a .688 OPS. Rocio could be moved into a utility role to make room for Bazana, who could make an immediate impact on Cleveland’s lineup. He proved himself at the World Baseball Classic earlier this year as a member of Australia’s team.

4. Walker Jenkins

The former No. 5 overall pick is ranked as the No. 11 prospect by MLB Pipeline, and although his Triple-A numbers probably aren’t where the Twins organization would like them to be, it’s probably time to call him up. The Twins are making noise in the AL Central, and Walker Jenkins could be ready to make a big impact.

5. Jonah Tong

Jonah Tong made his debut with the Mets last season and was impressive in his first start, allowing one run in five innings. It was all downhill from there. Tong lasted five starts and finished with a 7.71 ERA in 2025. But the Mets once thought he was ready, and last year he had a 1.43 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A. It feels like there hasn’t been much development for Tong at the minor league level.

6. Jett Williams

Jett Williams is one of two Brewers infielders ranked in MLB Pipeline’s top 100. The Brewers have always found ways to win by using their youth, and Williams is part of their next batch.

7. Cooper Pratt

The Brewers have already extended Cooper Pratt an eight-year, $50.75 million contract. This alone is reason enough to call him. Obviously the team has confidence in him.

8. Harry Ford

Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz is hitting .171 with a -0.2 bWAR to start 2026. Washington gave up one of their top weapons in Jose Ferrer last season to bring in Harry Ford. Why keep Ford in Triple-A when their major league catcher is struggling?

9. Ryan River

Ryan Rivers is 27 years old and is projected to be a big league reliever. MLB Pipeline still likes him so much that he is ranked as the 100th best prospect in baseball. The Dodgers have been wasting a potentially high-leverage relief arm in Triple-A, and it seems like it’s time to get him in the show.

10. Colt Emerson

Colt Emerson would be higher on this list if there was a clear path to playing in the major leagues, but there isn’t. JP Crawford, Brandon Donovan and Cole Young have locked down the infield, and the Mariners don’t want to call on Emerson just to hide on the bench. At the same time, for a good prospect like Emerson, you find a way for him to find playing time. If it means moving the defense around, that might be what Seattle needs to do.

It seems like neither Stephen Curry nor coach Steve Kerr are ready to give up on each other or the Golden State Warriors just yet.

Earlier this week, there was renewed excitement about the Warriors after Curry was in great form during a 126-121 NBA play-in tournament win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Boy, can things change fast in a matter of days.

On Friday night, they head into their second play-in game, this time against the Phoenix Suns, trying to hold off the eighth seed in the West. They finished the first quarter trailing 33–15, had trouble leading the rest of the night and fell behind by a score of 111–97. It capped off a very disappointing 37-45 season that started with no real NBA Finals aspirations.

The loss created immediate speculation about the future of Curry, Kerr and fellow key member of their dynasty, Draymond Green. Curry turned 38 last month and has struggled to compete in half the games this season due to injuries. Kerr is looking battle weary over the past few years and looks like he needs a break. Green is as volatile as ever, but he’s not as effective on the court as he was during his prime.

Still, despite the notion that one or two of them might be gone after this season, it seems like they’re not ready to give up on each other just yet. After their loss to the Suns, Curry was optimistic that he would fully heal his troublesome knee and thought he had “many” years left in his career. Furthermore, he claimed that he is ready to sign an extension with the team. One might assume it’s for slightly less money, but with additional guarantee years.

Many felt that Kerr could enjoy his success by taking a break from coaching. But it looks like he’s not going anywhere.

“I don’t want to move away from Steph. I’m definitely not going to go and coach anywhere else in the NBA next year,” he said Friday night. “…I’ll never walk away from Steph.”

The 12-time All-Star has one season and more than $62 million left on his current contract. Kerr is officially a coaching free agent after this season.

“I hope I’ve done enough to still be here,” he said after the loss. “At the end of the day, if I haven’t done enough work, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want this to be a [situation] Where ‘we keep him only for what he has done before’.”

There has been much speculation that the Warriors could try to trade Green this offseason. However, he recently admitted that he is also willing to take a team waiver for an extension in order to stay with the Warriors for a few more seasons.

Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman had the opportunity to acquire defenseman Quinn Hughes in December 2025, but decided not to do so without an extension. It came back to haunt Detroit. However, what if the Minnesota Wild knew Hughes would not be moving on? Although unlikely, it could open the door again.

More than likely, the Minnesota star will not be on the table this offseason. The Red Wings would love to have Hughes lead the offense and defense with Mo Cider, but that doesn’t seem realistic right now. Therefore, the focus should be on acquiring an elite forward who can lead the team offensively.

There are some options. Obviously, Auston Matthews would be a valuable asset if he demands a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs. What happens to Brady Tkachuk if he does the same with the Ottawa Senators? Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson would also be an excellent addition.

These are top choices, so they may not be that realistic. However, Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson and St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas should also be on the trade block. Needless to say, Detroit has plenty of options on the table, even if it isn’t a true NHL superstar like Matthews or Tkachuk.

Each of Detroit’s losses was a double-digit blowout. The first meeting in Detroit ended with a score of 121–90, with the Pistons defeating the Knicks 118–80 in the second meeting.

Given how the Pistons have misbehaved in New York this season, it appears that the Detroit Knicks will have their biggest nightmare in the 2025 NBA Playoffs.

But for Knicks newcomer Jose Alvarado, New York’s outlook in the postseason, if it meets the Pistons there, is not as discouraging as it seems.

“The playoffs are a completely different ballgame,” Alvarado said after the game (h/t Knicks Video). “We’re not going to sit here and say, ‘Oh, they beat us in the regular season…’ We’re not thinking like that.”

Still, it’s clear that the Pistons are a big thorn in the side for New York.

The Knicks eliminated Detroit in the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, but the Pistons have since become one of the best teams not only in the East but in the entire league. At this point in the season only the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder have more wins than Detroit, improving to 41–13. The Knicks, on the other hand, fell to 35-21.

Three-time WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has officially undergone successful surgery to repair a serious hand injury that kept her out for nearly a year. The “EST of WWE” shared an update with fans via his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, revealing that he began physical therapy just a day after the procedure.

Bellaire jokingly questioned the start time of her rehab, posting a photo with the caption: “7am therapy. First day after surgery… why does it have to be 7am now?!!”

The injury occurred during a triple threat match for the WWE Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 41 on April 20, 2025. Competing against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky, Belair suffered a break when Ripley accidentally fell on her hand.
