Rumor claims LA Night has been sidelined by another major story: will there be a next release?

A new report doesn’t seem to be good news for LA Knight’s future in WWE.

Knight has become a major fan-favorite in the company because he was able to overcome the obstacles that came before him. Despite being a star in TNA and NXT, when Knight originally came to the main roster in 2022, his character was completely changed, and he was renamed Max Dupree.

It seemed like he would be the latest legend to be ruined due to Vince McMahon’s different approach to established talent. However, when the WWE founder began to lose control of the company and Paul “Triple H” Levesque took a larger role in the company, Knight was allowed to return to his regular persona and given more opportunities.

While he was initially used mostly as an advanced talent, his charisma was undeniable, and he emerged as one of the notable baby faces on the roster in 2024. However, despite fans’ hopes that he will eventually win a world title, Knight is out of the main event picture as we approach the summer of 2026.

More worrying news emerged this week when BodySlam+ reported that Knight was involved in a feud with former Heavyweight Champion Gunther following WrestleMania 42. However, as fans saw on last week’s edition of SmackDown, the “Career Killer” made a surprise appearance and attacked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. To raise a quarrel over the blue brand.

Could LA Knight be the next WWE Star Cut?

la night
Credit: WWE

Leading up to the April mega-event, rumors surfaced that Knight was being considered for a major feud with Brock Lesnar. Of course, he went to super-prospect Oba Femi instead. This would now be the second feud with an elite talent to be eliminated.

Two weeks ago, WWE eliminated 23 veterans and prospects, including all of the Wyatt Six as well as Aleister Black and Zelina Vega. It was also revealed that some of the reductions were “age related”. Additionally, it was revealed over the weekend that TKO has asked for several performers to be cut from the roster, and this played a role in veterans Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods leaving the company.

Considering his age (43) and one more big fight, LA Knight should be concerned about his place in the company as he is making good money after reportedly agreeing to a new contract two years ago. According to BodySlam+, Knight is still with the company. But fans will surely wonder how long this will last if she isn’t added to a major storyline soon.

Game 3 will be an “Incredible Night”

The Montreal Canadiens (1-1) face the Tampa Bay Lightning (1-1) in Game 3 on Friday, with puck drop scheduled for 7 pm ET.

With the series returning to Montreal, the Habs will have a great opportunity to regain home ice advantage with a little help from their friends at the Bell Centre. Of course, you have to win four games to win the series, but whenever an underdog manages to take a 2-1 lead in a first-round series, its chances of emerging victorious increase significantly.

And while some may get the impression that the Lightning have been the much better team in the first two games of the series, the numbers suggest a very interesting division.

The Lightning did a great job controlling shots, but the Canadiens dominated high-danger scoring opportunities by a score of 18-7 at 5v5.

If the Canadiens can continue to focus on hockey while ignoring the consistently slick hockey that Tampa Bay has to offer, they should be in good shape, all things considered.

They will also need their first line to wake up and start producing at 5v5, which will be facilitated by keeping Nick Suzuki and Co. away from Brandon Hagel’s line.

As far as defensemen, the third pairing of Jaden Struble and Arbor Zekaj have provided excellent hockey in the playoffs, while the top four have struggled to find their rhythm. Reuniting Lane Hutson and Mike Matheson, while pairing Alexander Carrier with Caden Guhle, may be the best way forward for the Canadiens and Individuals, as they have shown they can put up encouraging statistics with recommended partners in the past.

As for Zekaj, he’s excited to bring the fun back to Montreal, especially given the physical nature of the series.

“I’ll be honest,” he explained. “For physical guys like Anderson, Struble and me, the energy of the playoff crowd in Montreal is a big plus. I woke up this morning with a smile. The entire province has been locked down. It’s going to be an incredible night!”

Possible Lineup Changes

Neither team will announce any major changes until puck drop, but the Canadiens had some relatively interesting news at practice.

Several players were missing, including Juraj Slafkowski, Alex Newhook and Josh Anderson.

Most are expected to play on Friday night, but there’s a chance we could see a new face in the lineup, with Velano serving as Montreal’s most likely back-up plan.

Patrik Laine is still listed as injured, and he won’t be available for the Habs, but there’s a chance we could see veteran Brendan Gallagher back in with a few changes. His aggressive style of play will fit well into this series, as long as he manages to keep his emotions in control when dealing with Lightning’s constant provocations.

Montreal Canadiens Projected Lineup

Cole Coffield – Nick Suzuki – Juraj Slafkowski

Alexandre Texier – Alex Newhook – Ivan Demidov

Zachary Bolduc-Oliver Kapanen-Kirby Dach

Jake Evans – Philip Danault – Josh Anderson

Mike Matheson – Alexander Carrier

Caden Guhle – Lane Hutson

Jaden Struble – Arbor Zekaj

jacob dobbs

Tampa Bay Lightning Projected Lineup

Brandon Hagel – Anthony Cirelli – Nikita Kucherov

Jake Guentzel – Brayden Point – Gage Goncalves

Zemgus Girgenson – Yanni Gourde – Nick Paul

Corey Perry – Oliver Bjorkstrand – Scott Sabourin

JJ Moser – Darren Raddish

Ryan McDonagh – Eric Cernak

Declan Carlyle – Emil Lilliberg

Night 2 predictions, including a game-changing heel turn by a top star

After being on the road to WrestleMania 42 since January’s Royal Rumble, the wait is finally over. This weekend brings the 2026 edition of WWE’s annual celebration for wrestling fans, and this year’s event includes two explosive nights of action at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The card for WrestleMania 42 Night 2 will include two of the most anticipated matches of the event. One is the big fight between “The Beast” Brock Lesnar and “The Ruler” Oba Femi. The second is in the main event of the night, when CM Punk defends the WWE World Heavyweight Title against hated rival Roman Reigns.

With that in mind, we offer some bold predictions for each match on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42.

Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi

wrestlemania 42

Considering how many times Femi has gained the upper hand on Lesnar during their feud, WWE history suggests that the future Hall of Famer will get the last laugh, as he has done against many stars during his legendary career. But this is a different time and situation.

For some time now, reports have been saying that Lesnar is very close to the end of his WWE career. Like the greats of the past, “respecting” and helping create future stars is what he should do when he goes out. A victory for Femi, especially an impressive one, at WrestleMania 42 could create a new main event star. Hopefully the former NXT Champion will carry the torch as the new beast comes to WWE on Sunday night.

WWE Women’s Championship: Jade Cargill (Captain) vs. Rhea Ripley

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

Regarding the ongoing feud between WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Elimination Chamber winner Rhea Ripley, different reports are coming that both of them are not fans of each other in real life. This added a unique tension and physicality to the situation. It also stands out because Cargill looks to be the smarter of the two and continues to improve into a future Hall of Famer.

WWE’s booking history shows that Ripley has got her revenge. But the heels are going to win at WrestleMania 42, and this feels like one of those examples. Look for Cargill’s new teammates – Mitchin and B-Fab – to join in and save the winner from imminent loss. This would lead to a long-rumored feud with former friend Bianca Belair.

finn balor vs dominik mysterio

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

The moment many WWE fans have been waiting for on Sunday night is the return of “The Demon” Finn Balor. And what a perfect time for his alter ego to reemerge as he looks to teach former Judgment Day brother Dominic Mysterio a violent lesson.

There were rumors that Baylor was expecting a big push when he signed his current deal two years ago. This never happened. Now seems like the right time for him and “The Demon” to re-establish themselves as a force on Raw. Expect an impressive victory from the first Universal Champion.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Penta (c) vs. Jevon Evans vs. Rusev vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rey Mysterio

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

One match that could easily steal the show at WrestleMania 42 Night 2 is the Six-Pack Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match. The reigning champ, Penta, will defend his gold against Rusev, high flyer J’Von Evans, fellow lucha star Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh and Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

This is a match ripe for a surprise win. While many may have expected Ja’Von Evans to pick up an unexpected victory in a match built on his skills, the expectation is that “Rusev Day” will return and the Bulgarian will win the bout. WWE had invested well in his return a year ago. They need to bring him back into a featured role, and a long-term feud with Penta for the belt would be fun.

United States Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

Rumors are swirling about a United States title match between Sami Zayn and Trick Williams. Zayn surprisingly drew the ire of fans by defeating Carmelo Hayes for the title just weeks before WrestleMania. Whereas since arriving from NXT late last year, Williams has become one of the most popular stars in the company, despite being a heel.

Rumors suggest we may be getting a rare wrestling double turn. Pulling the trigger on such an idea is perfect for this match, and like Femi earlier in the night, Williams’ title win and baby face turn would create a new top star. Expect to hear “and new” at the end of it.

World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

Punk and Reigns have done a great job of generating huge interest in what was a dream feud for wrestling fans a few years ago. He made things personal, then just a week before the event, he revealed that even though they hate each other, he still has a lot of respect for his enemy.

Despite the hype, the result seems predictable, and Reigns will return to the top of the mountain after being defeated at WrestleMania 40 two years ago. But what’s the fun in it? We predict something different. Punk shocked fans by turning heel, reuniting with Paul Heyman and becoming the new leader of Vision. Is it a possibility? No, but how wild would that be?

Night 1 predictions, including two big surprises

After being on the road to WrestleMania 42 since January’s Royal Rumble, the wait is finally over. This weekend brings the 2026 edition of WWE’s annual celebration for wrestling fans, and this year’s event includes two explosive nights of action at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The WrestleMania 42 Night 1 card features a number of interesting matchups, including a highly anticipated clash between Seth Rollins and Gunther, as well as a controversial main event that will see Cody Rhodes defend the WWE Undisputed Title against his former close friend Randy Orton.

With that in mind, we’re offering some bold predictions for Saturday’s WrestleMania card.

Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and iShowspeed vs. The Usos and L.A. Knight

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

The first night of WrestleMania 42 will debut on ESPN 2 and will feature a cross-over match pitting The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory teaming up with mega-popular YouTuber iShowspeed against The Usos and LA Knight. When it comes to big shows like this, WWE often wants to start things off on a fun and positive note. This match is designed to be a whole lot of fun and possibly silly at some points.

Don’t be surprised if we get an appearance from Danhausen early in the show to continue the story with him after Speed cursed him a few weeks ago. In the end, the babyface trio of The Usos and Knight would pick up the victory to get the fans excited early.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship: AJ Lee (Captain) vs. Becky Lynch

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

The months-long feud between Becky Lynch and AJ Lee should come to an end on Saturday night. The two future Hall of Famers have been at odds since the fall. However, Lee has the better of the Irish girl at every turn. Defeating him in a tag match at Wrestlepalooza, then winning Intercontinental gold at Elimination Chamber in February.

That hot streak is going to end this weekend. While Lynch doesn’t need to get the IC title back, there’s no way Lee has full ownership of the greatest female performer of all time. Given the way WWE does balanced booking, it’s too late to tip the scales back on Lynch.

Rejected Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

Another feud that will come to a decisive conclusion at WrestleMania 42 is the bitter rivalry between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre. The monster duo have been feuding with each other for weeks and could steal the show with their rejected match on Night 1.

But one thing is certain. Fatu will get the biggest W of his career on Saturday. Especially since McIntyre was busy filming. hillHe is certain to suffer a loss and take some time off after this weekend.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way: Irresistible Forces (c) vs. The Bella Twins vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

On Saturday Night, the Women’s Tag Team titles are at stake when The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) battle The Bella Twins (if Nikki Bella is cleared to compete), Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.

This could go in a lot of different directions, and because WWE loves the Bellas so much, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they get the long-awaited tag team title shot. But in the best interest of the division and the legend, the champs must maintain and continue their dominance as titlists. Plus, the heels will win at WrestleMania and it seems like a perfect match to make that happen.

Women’s World Championship: Stephanie Wacker (captain) vs Liv Morgan

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

One of the best things about this year’s event is the rivalry between Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Walker. Things got heated, personal, and very physical a few weeks ago as Wacker accidentally(?) hurt Morgan and Roxanne Perez.

Morgan doesn’t need a win here, and giving Wacker a big ‘Mania moment seems like a smart play as she could become a top star for years to come. However, Morgan’s win has led to some great storylines and feuds with her Judgment Day sisters Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. For that reason, we predict Morgan W.

seth rollins vs gunther

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

Although it was a late addition to WrestleMania 42, Rollins vs. Gunther has the potential to be the best match of any night and a match of the year contender. They are two of the best wrestlers on earth and should create magic in the ring.

The fact that Braun Breaker is reportedly looking away and is set to make his return soon makes it likely that Rollins gets the win and then his celebration after the match or on Monday’s Raw is ended by the man he brought in, The Vision.

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton

wrestlemania 42
Credit: WWE

The feud between Orton and Rhodes has been awkward at times and has become even weirder with the random inclusion of former announcer and popular podcaster Pat McAfee. It has transformed the competition from a battle for gold between close friends to a battle over the future direction of the company.

McAfee’s involvement in the storyline has been condemned by fans and wrestlers. However, it is unlikely that he will disappear after Saturday night. Additionally, there are rumors that WWE is planning a tag match between Orton and McAfee against Rhodes and Jelly Roll at Backlash, which suggests that “The Viper” will get world title shot number 15 this weekend.

The winners and losers from the first night of the 2026 NBA Play-In Tournament, including new villain LaMelo Ball

Tuesday night was a perfect display of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s dream when he pushed to create an NBA Play-In Tournament. The games between the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns featured exciting basketball, maximum effort and matchups that came down to the final seconds.

While basketball fans walked away with a win on the first night of the NBA Play-ins, not everyone went home happy. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the biggest winners and losers from the Hornets’ win over the Heat and the Trail Blazers’ playoff win against the Suns.

Winner and Loser: LaMelo Ball, Hornets

lamelo ball
Jim Dedmon-Images Images

On Tuesday night, LaMelo Ball showed the basketball world why the Hornets ignored rumors of trading him in the offseason. With the right pieces around him, Ball can lead a team to the playoffs, and Charlotte may not have survived to play another day without the 24-year-old’s 30 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and scoring a last-second layup in overtime in a do-or-die game.

However, while he is a hero in Charlotte today, he is a true villain in Miami. In the first quarter, he tackled the Heat’s top star, Bam Adebayo, causing an injury and knocking him out for the rest of the game. Given that the Hornets won by 1 point, Heat fans will be wondering all summer what could have been if Ball had not injured their best player. There is now a new villain in the playoffs.

Loser: Bam Adebayo, Heat

bam adebayo
jim russol-image images

In nine seasons with the Heat, Bam Adebayo has developed into a role as the center of this current iteration of the franchise. Additionally, earlier this season, he forever cemented his place in Heat and NBA history when he had a historic 83-point night.

However, this was the fourth consecutive year the team had to play its way into the postseason. That’s disappointing enough, but Ball’s poor play made matters even worse, keeping the three-time All-Star out for most of the game. Now, he and his teammates have to deal with the fact that they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2019 due to extremely questionable play early in the game.

Winner: Miles Bridges, Hornets

mile bridge
Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

After being selected in the first round in the 2018 NBA Draft, Miles Bridges has had an up and down tenure in Charlotte. He slowly developed into the team’s top star, and when he was set to cash in on his first big contract in the summer of 2022, he missed the entire season after serious domestic violence allegations.

Nevertheless, the Hornets did not give up on him and gave him a chance to rebuild his reputation. That loyalty was rewarded Tuesday when the eight-year veteran scored 28 points, hit five threes and got the game-winning block in the final seconds of the franchise’s biggest game in years. Bridges being a part of the Hornets’ resurgence is a feel-good story in Charlotte.

Loser: Erik Spoelstra, Heat

erik spoelstra
Sam Navarro-Imagen Images

It has been a disappointing season for veteran Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra. Despite being far better on offense than many had anticipated after trading Jimmy Butler last year, Miami has largely lagged behind on defense this season. This year’s Heat was a very un-Spoelstra-like group. We got further proof of this when they couldn’t seal a deal to play another day in the fourth quarter.

Now Miami will miss the playoffs for the first time in seven years and will have to figure out how they get back to classic Heat ball this summer.

Winner: Deni Avdija, Trail Blazers

portland trail blazers
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

If you were a casual basketball fan and didn’t know much about Deni Avdija, you now know after the first night of the NBA Play-ins. The former lottery pick for the Washington Wizards has finally been coming along the past few seasons, but he took a huge leap forward in 2025-26 as he became the new face of Portland and earned All-Star honors for the first time.

In the franchise’s biggest game in five years, the 25-year-old looked like a superstar as he posted a near triple-double (41 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists) in his first postseason game. For the first time since Damian Lillard, the Trail Blazers have a legitimate star.

Loser: Devin Booker, Suns

devin booker

Devin Booker is one of the game’s elite scorers and has been so for quite some time. But he’s a five-time All-Star because of his ability to dominate the offense and make his teammates better. The Suns needed it on Tuesday, but their top star was unable to elevate his play in the biggest game of the year.

It was much better weather in the desert than many people expected. However, Booker and his teammates continued to fight hard to take a 10-point lead late in the fourth game.

Winner: Tiago Splitter, Trail Blazers

Trail Blazers head coach Tiago Splitter deserves a lot of credit. The seven-year NBA veteran was thrust into the top job when Chauncey Billups found himself embroiled in an ugly gambling scandal just as the season began. Despite the messy situation, Splitter guided Portland to its first winning season and playoff birth since 2020-21. It’s hard to say that he hasn’t been able to keep the job next season.

Winner: Jrue Holiday, Trail Blazers

Many mocked Portland trading for aging star Jrue Holiday and his hefty contract. Still, the 35-year-old has played very well in his first season with the Trail Blazers. But more importantly, he once again showed why he is such an impactful player in the most important games, scoring 21 runs in the team’s playoff win.

Holiday is making a lot of money, but for a team that’s yearning for the playoffs, he’s worth it in 2026.

Is NBC in danger of losing Sunday Night Football? Netflix eyes NFL rights

“Sunday Night Football” on NBC is definitely the most popular game every week during the NFL season. Led by Mike Tirico and Chris Collinsworth, the primetime slot features the sport’s premier matchups on the football field. However, can NBC Sports lose Sunday Night Football to another competitor in the NFL?

NBC is “at risk” of losing its Sunday Night Football package amid rising prices for NFL broadcast rights, John Aurand reports. Netflix is ”inspired to offer the sun and the moon” for Sunday night games if NBC is ever in danger of losing the primetime slot.

If Netflix ever acquired the NFL rights package, it would be the second weekly primetime slot the streaming platform is after. Amazon Prime Video acquired a “Thursday Night Football” package in 2021, which will air games during the 2022–23 NFL season.

As of now, Netflix only has NFL games on Christmas, starting in 2024. The 2026–27 NFL season is the last year of his deal with the game. Meanwhile, the NFL’s current media rights deals run through the 2033 season, but the league has a contractual opt-out clause to end them early after the 2029 season.

So, if Netflix wants to participate in Sunday Night Football, it probably won’t be possible until 2030. The NFL will likely opt to renegotiate contracts through the 2033 season. The game announced its current blockbuster 11-year media rights deals on March 18, 2021.

NFL fans love watching Sunday night games on NBC, but the network may be in danger of losing it to streaming platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Sunday Night Football is the NFL’s biggest game of the week, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see a bidding war.

Toumani Camara sets franchise record on career night vs. Nets

Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara remained one of the most underappreciated players in the NBA on Monday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Camara led the Trail Blazers to a lopsided 134–99 win over the Nets, scoring a career-high 35 points and nine three-pointers. He made 10 of 12 shots from the field, including 9 of 11 from beyond the arc. He also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Portland won four of its last five assignments to improve to 36–37. They are just one game behind the Los Angeles Clippers for eighth place in the Western Conference.

Camara, who is in his third season in Rip City, set a new team record with his career night.

“Camara’s 35 points are the most on 12 or fewer field goal attempts in Trail Blazers history,” the team’s official account on the

He also set two milestones after getting hot from three-point range.

“Camara’s 9-for-11 (.818) three-point shooting performance marks the most made three-pointers by a @trailblazers player since February 26, 2023 (Damian Lillard) and the best three-point percentage with at least 10 three-point attempts since April 27, 2021 (Anfernee Simmons),” the Trail Blazers said.

The 25-year-old is having a breakout campaign, averaging career-best 13.0 points and 2.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals. He could make a case for a nod to the All-Defensive Team or get some votes for Most Improved Player.

Camara, who hails from Belgium, was drafted by the Phoenix Suns as the 52nd overall pick in 2023. However, he was shipped to the Trail Blazers as part of the three-team deal that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.

He has slowly carved out a role in Portland, building an upstart core with Denny Avdija, Donovan Clingan, Shadden Sharp and Scooter Henderson.

Mr. Saturday Night Stars in decisive victory

The Montreal Canadiens host the New York Islanders on Saturday night, with both teams looking to improve their standing in a tightly contested playoff race in the Eastern Conference.

The Habs were powered by their first line, a recurring theme during the last few seasons. Against the Islanders, the trio scored four goals, leading to a decisive 7–3 victory.

With the win, Montreal’s playoff chances increased to 84 percent, which is a pretty healthy stat all things considered.

Let’s look at the highlights!

power in sports

The Canadiens broke the ice by scoring on the power play, an encouraging sign as they haven’t taken advantage of all their man advantage opportunities in recent games.

It was Juraj Slafkowski who scored, which should be no shock as he leads all Canadian players in power play goals this year, and by a good margin too. Slafkowski has scored 14 times on the power play, while Nick Suzuki is the only other Habs player to reach double-digit goals (10) with the man advantage.

Secondary scoring in sports

The Islanders scored the next two goals, including a goal from former hub Emil Heinemann, his 20th goal of the year.

In response, Alex Newhook hit an excellent one-timer to tie the game with assists from Caden Guhle and Oliver Kapanen. It was Newhook’s 10th goal of the year, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

mr saturday night

The Canadiens are always looking for secondary scoring, this is because they do most of their damage from the first line. For example, Cole Caufield, Mr. Saturday Night himself, gave the Habs a delicate one-goal lead heading into the second intermission. His 41st goal of the year was not a thunderous shot or a spectacular deke, but a smart shot from the forward, who evolved from a one-trick pony into a multi-scoring threat every time he was in the offensive zone.

big one is coming

With a power play goal early in the third period, the Islanders proceeded to tie the game again. The good news for the Habs is that they responded perfectly to adversity, starting with Caden Guhle’s second goal of the year to take a one-goal lead.

If you haven’t caught a single game in the last two years, what happened next is shocking. As per tradition, the first line attacked, as Slafkovsky scored his second goal of the game to give the Habs a 5–3 lead.

Appropriately, it was facilitated by the usual suspects, Suzuki and Caufield. Montreal’s trio continues to provide ample evidence to suggest they are one of the best lines in the NHL.

Sometimes a theme comes together perfectly.

On Saturday night, the dominance of the first line came to the fore on several occasions, including Caufield’s second goal of the game, giving the Canadiens a three-goal lead midway through the third period. Oh, and it was also Caufield’s 42nd goal of the season.

To cap the night, Caufield recorded his third career hat trick to put the game out of reach. This was especially satisfying for the Habs, as the Islanders suddenly found their courage when they were down by three goals and had an extra skater on the ice.

Mathew Barzal, in particular, made a fool of himself trying to link up with Suzuki.

But in the end, it didn’t matter, as the Canadiens outshot the Islanders by a wide margin.

The Montreal Canadiens are back in action on Tuesday hosting the Carolina Hurricanes at the Bell Centre, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

All Montreal Canadiens stats are 5v5, via Natural Stat Trick, unless otherwise noted.

Luka Doncic appears to say NSFW admission amid 60-point night

Luka Doncic has been in another world for some time now, but the Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard is still human.

During a break in Thursday’s game and between his scoring explosion in South Beach against the Miami Heat, Doncic was seen on camera looking tired on the bench, and it seemed use foul language To explain how tired he was during that moment.

The way Doncic played against Miami, he had every right to feel and show that he was tired.

For one, it was the second night of a back-to-back set, and Doncic was also coming off a 40-point performance in Wednesday’s road win against the Houston Rockets. After a short turnaround and a trip to Miami on rest, the former NBA scoring champion somehow had enough energy to torch the Heat for 60 points.

Luka Doncic shot 18 for 30 from the field and hit nine of his 17 attempts from behind the arc, while recording seven rebounds, five steals and three assists in 38 minutes.

The 27-year-old Doncic is in some mysterious form right now, as he’s averaging 45.3 points on incredible efficiency over the last three Lakers games. Over that span, he shot 53.7 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from 3-point territory.

As for the Lakers, they extended their winning streak to eight games and are undefeated in three contests on their current road trip, which will take them to Orlando on Saturday when they face the Orlando Magic.

The Lakers are in third place in the Western Conference standings with a 45–25 record.

Jaylen Brown hints at secret post-NBA plans after big night

BOSTON – The city of Boston was the key to basketball for Celtics star Jaylen Brown. Since arriving in Beantown in 2016, he has consistently exceeded expectations, becoming a five-time All-Star, earning the NBA Finals MVP trophy, and most recently, moving into 10th on the Celtics’ all-time scoring list during a 120-99 win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. But just because Brown was introduced to Boston through basketball doesn’t mean he wants to be known for that alone.

The former UC Berkeley standout has used his platform to make a difference in New England’s largest city, hosting numerous community events giving his views on social issues, technology, the future and more. Brown’s life away from basketball has always been integral to him, so it makes sense that he might again emphasize non-basketball activities whenever he retires from the NBA.

“Part of me wants to say that when I’m done, you’ll never see me again,” Brown said with a slight smile in the locker room. “but who knows?”

What does retirement mean for Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum?

As Celtics legend Robert Parish strolled through TD Garden on Wednesday cheering on fans — promoting his new book and looking at two franchises he played for decades ago — Brown was reminded of his limited basketball career.

When Brown was asked if he would return to Boston from time to time, like Parrish, he responded, “Honestly, I can’t even think that far ahead.” “Obviously, Parish is a legend, so it’s good to see him out there. He looked good. Looks to be in pretty good shape. So it’s great to have him around.”

Fellow Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who tied a season-high with 24 points against the Warriors, was also looking to the future. And while he didn’t reveal anything definite in terms of post-playing plans, the six-time All-Star did mention how great it is to see the beloved Celtics come home to a standing ovation.

“It means everything,” he said. “It’s a really nice moment to see other people receive their flowers.”

When Tatum and Brown call it quits, there’s no doubt both stars’ jerseys will be retired and they’ll be placed among the stars in the rafters at TD Garden. However, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon, as Boston’s dynamic duo is focused on chasing another title with the Celtics at 46-23 before the 2026 NBA Playoffs. Additionally, neither Celtics star is even 30 years old and both of them have signed long contracts for at least three more seasons.

No matter what happens for Tatum and Brown over the next several years, they’ve earned the right to handle retirement how they want, whether that looks like headlining home games in Boston or stepping out of the public eye forever.

When Brown was asked if he would ‘go black’ after retiring, he replied, “I mean, it depends on what God has planned.” “But if you ask me now, I think it’s much more likely, let’s say.”

Josh Hart reveals the key behind historic night in Pacers blowout

After having a career night against the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks star Josh Hart revealed the real reason he’s had such a great game — and you won’t guess why.

He responded to the Knicks’ celebratory post after defeating the Pacers on Twitter. The Knicks reported that Hart joined elite company by scoring more than 30 points while making more than 90% of his shots.

“Because it’s Mike and Ike’s night,” Hart replied, tagging the iconic candy brand’s official X account.

The Mike & Ike Gift Night was held at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when the Knicks took on the Pacers. Fans were given T-shirts and this inspired Hart.

Josh Hart had the best night of his career as the Knicks blew out the Pacers.

The Knicks played their final four games against the Pacers on March 17. They defeated Indiana, winning by 26 points and were led by Hart.

In 26 minutes on the floor, Hart scored 33 points while making 12 of 13 shots. He was also perfect from behind the three-point line, and made all five shots. He also made four out of five free throws. Additionally, Hart recorded seven rebounds and five assists. He also had two steals in the game.

For context, Hart is averaging 12.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game during the 2025-26 season. His statistics are a bit behind last season’s, but he is averaging about eight minutes less per game.

OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns also contributed 26 and 22 points, respectively. Jose Alvarado was also integral, scoring 16 points and making half of his shots.

The Knicks will now travel to Brooklyn to play the Nets on Friday, March 20. Like the Pacers, the Nets are also out of the playoffs. His record is 17-51.

Currently, the Knicks are in third place in the Eastern Conference. They sit behind the Detroit Pistons (49-19) and Boston Celtics (45-23).

Hughes’ late heroics spoil Kopitar’s night in Devils win vs. Kings

Well, the New Jersey Devils may have given up three leads, but they still came up with two points.

A back-and-forth affair between the Devils and the Los Angeles Kings ended in victory when Jack Hughes sealed the deal with the game-winning power play goal in the third period.

The Devils took a 1–0 lead on a goal off the stick of Cody Glass at 7:58 of the first period.

Arseniy Gritsyuk collected the loose puck on the right wall and fed the glass into the slot for a one-time chance, beating Anton Forsberg to give New Jersey a one-goal advantage.

Three minutes later, Nico Hischier scored on a rebound by Timo Meier to give the Devils a 2–0 lead in the first period.

New Jersey began the second period of attack. However, Dougie Hamilton sent the Devils to the early penalty kill after being whistled for interference.

On the Los Angeles power play, Anze Kopitar cut the Devils’ lead to 2–1 by hitting a backdoor pass from Bradent Clark.

Just over two minutes later, Artemi Panarin tied the game, skating the puck into the slot and passing it past Jake Allen to tie things at two.

The Kings scored three consecutive goals to take the lead at 11:43 of the middle frame. Clark walked to the Devils blueline with the puck on his stick and passed it to Taylor Ward at the top of the left circle, who beat Allen to give the Kings a 3–2 lead.

It didn’t take long for the Devils to tie the game in the third period.

Lenny Haminaho drove quickly to the Kings’ zone and took a good step to beat the defense. The Finnish rookie fed Gritsyuk backdoor, and Gritsyuk batted in the puck that was in mid-air and tied the game at three.

Quinton Byfield was later whistled for tripping, forcing New Jersey back on the power play for the third time. Hischier played well on the man advantage and the Devils regained the lead at 12:41 of the third period.

However, Haminaho’s puck was modest and the Devils were sent back to the PK, and Kopitar collected his second of the night to tie the game at four.

Kopitar’s second goal of the night saw him break the Los Angeles franchise record for points, the 1,308th of his career.

The Devils gained another man advantage after the whistle for holding Clarke.

Hughes took no time in giving the Devils their third lead of the night, scoring a goal on a FC-off draw to make the game 5–4 in favor of New Jersey.

Meyer deflected the empty-net goal to seal a 6–4 Devils victory.

Jake Allen made 27 saves on 31 shots and earned his 13th win of the season.

JJ Redick drops the mic after Luka Doncic’s spectacular 51-point night

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Lakers continued to move forward and won their fourth consecutive game with a 142-130 victory against the Chicago Bulls. The story of the night was Luka Doncic who dropped a career-best 51 points for the Lakers in the win. After the game, Lakers head coach JJ Redick commented that Doncic’s recent games were not being discussed enough.

“He’s playing as good as any other player in the NBA right now, and I think that’s probably not being talked about,” Redick said during his postgame press conference. “But I’m going to talk about it.”

Once Luka Doncic reached 51 points, at the end of the fourth quarter, the Lakers committed an intentional foul to take him out of the game. He finished just one assist shy of a triple double with 10 rebounds and nine assists. He shot 17 of 31 from the field, 9 of 14 from the 3-point line, and 8 of 9 from the free-throw line.

Early in the game, Doncic talked some trash with Bulls young gun Matas Buzelis, a conversation that seemed to infuriate him. For Redick, one of the most impressive things about Doncic is his ability to stay focused between these little one-on-one battles.

“It’s a unique quality. It’s not just the fact that he reacts to any kind of rude behavior or trash talk, but that he can broadcast it,” Redick said. “He can channel that while also doing all the other things that need to be done. That’s obviously reflected in his defensive rebounding, his assists, his steals. Another game where he gets a high assist number with low turnovers.”

Over the last 10 games, Doncic has 22, 41, 26, 28, 27, 27, 44, 35, 31 and now 51 points. The Lakers have gone 7-3 in that span with a few wins against very good teams in the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves. As the Lakers have climbed up to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference standings, Doncic has begun to garner MVP buzz again.

This season, he leads the league in scoring (32.5 points), field goal attempts (22.0), 3-pointers attempted (3.8), 3-pointers attempted (10.4) and free-throw attempts (10.2). He is shooting 47.3 percent from the field, 36 percent from the 3-point line and 77.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers have just one home game remaining, with another big test with the Denver Nuggets coming to town on Saturday. They then took the field for six games before returning home to conclude the month.

Luka Doncic’s 51-point night vs. Bulls blows fans away

No one scored 83 points in the Association Thursday night, but someone rallied for a 50-point triple-double, thanks to none other than Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic.

The former NBA scoring champion tore apart the Bulls’ defense in a memorable performance. In just 37 minutes, Doncic scored 51 points and came just one assist away from a 50-point triple-double, as he had 10 rebounds and nine dimes.

He pushed it from behind the arc, knocking down nine triples on 14 attempts. He was 17-for-31 overall from the field and 8-for-9 from the charity stripe. Despite having the ball in his hands most of the time, Doncic turned the ball over only once.

A night after Bam Adebayo surpassed Kobe Bryant’s 81 points, Doncic gave Lakers and basketball fans a stellar stat line to celebrate.

“Luka smiling at that Lakers gold after 51-10-9? Pure joy 🔥 Trade of the century!”. one fan said.

Another commented, “Moral hoops by the GOAT. He had 73 ts.”

X, formerly a social media user on Twitter, shared, “All class Luka. Amazing game.”

“An honest 51 too,” one comment read.

“Luka putting on a show again. Back-to-back 50-point nights?”. a separate social media commentator said.

Luka Doncic also loves facing the bulls. He had 46 points in last January’s meeting with Chicago in the Windy City. The good news for Chicago is that it won’t be until the 2026-27 NBA season that they’ll share the court with Doncic again.

The win over the Bulls improved the Lakers’ record to 41–25 and extended L.A.’s winning streak to four games.

Erik Spoelstra reveals the hidden impact of Bam Adebayo’s 83-point night

MIAMI – After Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo had his 83-point game on Tuesday night, there was no denying how this performance would be immortalized in NBA history. As the sports world debates whether or not the Heat captain’s 83-point night was unethical, no one can take away from Adebayo’s special night for the positives it could have on its lasting impact on the team.

Adebayo will break franchise records and reach major milestones, but what matters most is that his 83 points on Tuesday against the Washington Wizards surpassed Kobe Bryant’s 81 points, giving him the second-highest scoring game ever.

The loss meant the win dropped them to sixth place in the Eastern Conference, eliminating them from the play-in tournament for the time being, although they head into Thursday’s contest against the Milwaukee Bucks with 16 games left in the season. The outcome of even one game could impact the standings, with Miami holding just a half-game lead over the seventh-seeded Toronto Raptors.

If there’s one of many things that Adebayo can do to score 83 points in a game, it’s to inspire the team to greener pastures ahead, as head coach Erik Spoelstra mentioned.

“It was motivation the other night. And maybe motivation needs to be motivating tonight,” Spoelstra said. “So maybe there will be some X factors.”

“The situation we’re in right now, it’s not going to happen unless we create the environment for that game,” Spoelstra added. “Bam set the tone with his energy and will in that first quarter, and that type of energy and effort and motivation, maybe it comes from him, but maybe it comes from a lot of other players who inspire effort in any other game that means just as much in the standings.”

Heat’s Erik Spoelstra on the ethics of Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game

While the big man’s night was special in every imaginable way, some were complaining about the Heat’s Adebayo the way he scored 83 points, whether it was the massive amount of free throws and intentional fouling in the fourth quarter.

Some have cited Spoelstra as one of the main reasons for questions about the “ethics” of the performance. As for Spoelstra, he stood ten feet down on the outing and said, “I’m not apologizing to anyone.”

Asked about the word ‘ethics’ being thrown around in criticism, Spoelstra told ClutchPoints, “I’m not losing any sleep over what other people are saying about it.” “What’s ethical? What’s not? Is it ethical to foul a three-point shooter? Is that ethical or not? Is it ethical to foul a bad free-throw shooter and get an extra possession, you know or not? Like all these things happened in under two minutes, he had already broken a lot of records, and we’re going to go for it. It was an amazing moment to be a part of that.”

“And I would do it again 10 times out of 10 for Bam,” Spoelstra continued. “I feel very good for Bam, because he’s about all the right things.”

At any rate, Adebayo’s historic 83-point night has immortalized him in history as one that will always be remembered, no matter how the discourse looks. In terms of boosting Miami’s playoff run, the team looks to take advantage of this, as after Thursday against the Bucks, the Heat will face the Orlando Magic on Saturday night in an important matchup.

Cam Payne claims he had the night on Bam Adebayo on March 10

On Tuesday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers got back in the win column with a home win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The story of this game was point guard Cameron Payne, who scored 32 points on an astonishing 8-8 shot from beyond the three-point line, giving the 76ers a huge boost after recently signing there.

Unfortunately, Payne’s night, and everything that happened in the NBA on Tuesday, was overshadowed by Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo’s historic 83-point explosion in a blowout win over the Washington Wizards.

However, that wasn’t going to stop Payne from feeling himself after his historic game against Memphis.

“To be honest, I was worried about Cam Payne,” Cam Payne said to the ex, formerly of PhillyVoice, on Twitter, according to Adam Aronson. “Bombs can’t take over my night… March 10th, it’s all me.”

The Grizzlies controlled the game for most of the night before turning out their starters in a blatant tanking effort in the fourth quarter, after which Philadelphia immediately responded with a 20–2 run.

The 76ers learned earlier in the day that star guard Tyrese Maxey will be out of the lineup for at least three weeks after injuring his hand in a recent road loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Philadelphia has been declining in the rankings due to injury absences in recent weeks, with the team being overtaken by the Heat and falling into the play-in region as the season approaches its home stretch.

The 76ers will be desperately hoping that Joel Embiid will be able to return from injury at some point in the near future, and are also counting down the days until Paul George’s suspension ends.

In any case, the 76ers will next take the field on Thursday evening for a tough road game against the Detroit Pistons.

Suns player deletes apology after announcing he ‘didn’t care’ about Bam Adebayo’s 83-point night

On Tuesday evening, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo etched his name in the history books with an 83-point outburst against the Washington Wizards. This spectacular performance passed the late Kobe Bryant for the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, behind only Wilt Chamberlain, who had 100.

After the Phoenix Suns’ win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, Suns guard Collin Gillespie was asked about the historic night for Adebayo, and his answer raised eyebrows.

“I don’t really care,” Gillespie, formerly of X, said on Twitter, according to SunsWorldwide.

On Wednesday, Gillespie posted a tweet apologizing, writing, “No disrespect meant… It had nothing to do with our game or our team… It’s still a historic and great accomplishment for him.”

However, Gillespie has since deleted the post.

Heat fans have been quick to berate anyone attempting to provide context to Adebayo’s historic night on Tuesday, which included more than 40 free throw attempts, and the team kept the star well into garbage time in the game in pursuit of the record.

The final minutes of the game included a bizarre scene in which the Wizards were intentionally lining up Adebayo’s teammates to prevent him from scoring, while the Heat’s players were intentionally missing free throws to force Adebayo to foul on a rebounding action.

Whether this qualifies as a “moral” 83 points is certainly debatable, but Adebayo is now in the record books for his historic performance, which also led the Heat to their sixth consecutive win.

Miami is now in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, and essentially tied with the Toronto Raptors for fifth place, which is potentially as high as they could realistically be before the season ends.

In any case, Adebayo’s night will be long remembered.

Bam Adebayo Shares Immediate Reaction to Historic 83-Point Night vs. Wizards

When the Miami Heat stepped into the Kasia Center for Tuesday night’s showdown against the Washington Wizards, little did they know that Bam Adebayo would make it a night no one would ever forget. While the game against the Wizards seems like an automatic win these days, if forgettable, Adebayo made sure it will be stored forever in everyone’s memory bank as he exploded for a historic 83 points in the Heat’s 150-129 victory.

Adebayo shot 20-43 from the field (7-22 from deep) and 36-43 from the free-throw line, as the Wizards couldn’t stop him from scoring points even when double- or triple-teamed. The rest of the Heat team wanted Adebayo to chase this record and he did just that.

While Adebayo knows it is his name that will be in the record books, he gave credit to all To help make history, both on the Heat squad as well as on a higher note.

“Man, I wish I could have experienced it twice. I credit God, my family, my teammates. This crowd. They kept feeding me the ball,” Adebayo told Kelly Sacco of FanDuel Sports Network.

It was especially clear in the fourth quarter that the Heat team had only one thing on its mind: getting Adebayo the basketball. They were force-feeding him rocks, even if he was double- or triple-teamed. They were deliberately annoying the wizards. They were setting screens to block the ball for him, and they were also letting him handle the ball out of the backcourt.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra should also be credited for making Adebayo’s historic scoring night possible. Some coaches would remove him from the game and the game would be out of reach for the opponents, but Adebayo remained in the game and the fans got what they paid good money to see.

A’Ja Wilson’s live social media reactions to Bam Adebayo’s 83-point night

Bam Adebayo captured the attention of the entire sports world with his historic 83-point night in the Miami Heat’s 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards. He now has the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, surpassing the 81 points scored by Kobe Bryant in 2006 and trailing only Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game.

Adebayo’s historic night was also attended by his wife, Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, and his mother, Marilyn Blount. After the game, Adebayo shared a romantic moment with his girlfriend, who was reacting live to her partner’s poor scoring on the threads.

“Welp won’t set career highs at home anymore 😭 but at least it gives me something to go after 🤭,” Wilson wrote.

Wilson’s career-high scoring is 53 points, which he recorded against the Atlanta Dream in 2023. By the third quarter, Adebayo had surpassed that number.

“60 in 3 quarters!??!!?!?! Yessirrr,” Wilson said.

Adebayo set a Heat franchise record for scoring by the end of the third, when he had 62 points to surpass LeBron James’ 61-point tally.

“A new record!!!” Wilson further said. “History!!!”

After the game, Wilson joked about his teammate’s accomplishment, saying that the NBA would now come for him and test him for performance-enhancing drugs.

“Go ahead and pee in that cup my boi! EOS,” Wilson jokingly wrote.

No one in the world knows Adebayo’s skills on the hardwood better than Wilson, who may have watched the Heat star up close a thousand times in the past. So for him to be stunned by the Heat star’s achievement says a lot.

And his surprise should come as no surprise. After all, Adebayo’s previous career-high was 41 points, and as great a player as he is, scoring isn’t his greatest strength.

What does Bam Adebayo think Kobe Bryant would have said after the big night

NBA icon Kobe Bryant might be shaking his head proudly in heaven right now after Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo scored 83 points against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

Adebayo surpassed Bryant’s 81 points for the second-highest scoring output in league history, and trailed only NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points. The Heat edged the Wizards, 150–129.

In the post-game conference, Adebayo looked on in disbelief at what he had accomplished, especially since he beat his childhood hero’s record. He said She is curious If Bryant were alive today, what would he say about his 83-point accomplishment?

“For me, it’s a wonder what he would say. Seeing someone (score) 60, 70, but 83 and passing him, I’m like, ‘What would he say to me?’ Because I always wanted to talk to him. But he’d probably tell me, ‘Do it again,'” Adebayo shared, who was seated next to his girlfriend, Las Vegas Access center A’ja Wilson.

“It’s a surreal moment to be in the company of someone I idolized growing up.”

Wilson agreed with Adebayo’s comment that Bryant would have urged him to go for the record again. Many thought Bryant’s 81 points would never be broken, but Adebayo did. So why not 100 points for Chamberlain?

Bryant was a frantic competitor and for him there was no record he could not achieve. Other athletes also shared his mentality and were very proud of it.

While Adebayo will never know how Bryant would react to his 81-point performance, he can take solace in the fact that he remained consistent with the mindset of his childhood idol.

Pascal Siakam’s stunned live reaction to Bam Adebayo’s 83-point night caught on camera

Bam Adebayo made history Tuesday night. In the Miami Heat’s 150–129 win over the Washington Wizards, Adebayo scored 83 points – making an impression throughout the association. He now owns the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, and as a result, his accomplishment was being celebrated throughout the association.

Later in the night during the Indiana Pacers’ clash against the Sacramento Kings, the Kings’ PA announcer broke the news to the crowd at Golden1 Center that Adebayo had actually recorded 83 points. When Pacers forward Pascal Siakam, who is not on the active roster for tonight, heard the news, he was absolutely shocked Like the rest of the NBA world.

Via Tony East of Forbes Siakam was seen saying, “No way, brother.”

This is in no way a knock on Adebayo’s skill level. But he’s a career-high 16 points per game scorer, averaging nearly 19 points per night this campaign, and he’s only scored more than 40 points once in his career before tonight, which came in 2021 (a 41-point night against the Brooklyn Nets).

This makes him an unlikely player to score 60 or 70, let alone 83 points to surpass Kobe Bryant for the second-highest scoring game in league history. And the Pacers star is sharing the shock everyone felt after Adebayo’s crazy night.

Heat’s Bam Adebayo makes the most of perfect storm vs. Wizards

It helped a lot that the Heat faced a team that was deliberately trying to lose to tanking the Wizards. That team is looking to secure a top-eight finish, so they are being very cautious about their key players’ minutes.

Whatever the case, Adebayo still had to make all those buckets and free throws, and that’s exactly what he did. He deserves full credit for his achievement, which will be talked about for years to come, if not eternity.

Fans mock LeBron James after Bam Adebayo’s historic night

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is on social media after Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo went out for an astonishing 83 points on Tuesday.

Adebayo scored in a 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards and broke Lakers icon Kobe Bryant’s record for the second-highest scoring game in league history.

While many were celebrating Adebayo’s historic accomplishment, some also mocked James, saying he had predicted a career night for the Heat star.

To recall, James once said in an interview that he knew Bryant was going to explode that night when he scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in 2006.

@CookedByMatt said, “LeBron predicted Bam’s 83-piece.”

@MrEggyWeggy said, “LeBron called it! He predicted this performance earlier today.”

@iam_johnw echoed, “LeBron will come out and say he predicted Bam’s 83-point game.”

@Jasonb9990 wrote, “I’m sure LeBron predicted this before the game even started.”

“Do you guys think LeBron predicted Bam’s 83 points?” asked @artoftheleague.

@realhenryobrien posted, “Since the Lakers haven’t hinted yet, LeBron can say he watched the Heat-Wizards game and predicted Bam would score 83 points.”

James probably didn’t anticipate that he would be the butt of jokes on Tuesday. They should blame Adebayo.

The three-time All-Star, James’ teammate on Team USA, finished with 20 of 43 field goals and 36 of 43 free throws on what was arguably the most random night in league history. Even Nostradamus with advanced analytics couldn’t have predicted Adebayo’s 83-point special.

Well, perhaps the best way for James to counterattack is to score 84 points when he returns to action.

NBA cancels Atlanta’s ‘Magic City Night’ after leaguewide outcry

Since the Atlanta Hawks announced they would dedicate a night to the Magic City institution on March 16, there has been a tremendous discussion in the sports world about whether it is the right thing to do. Some people also expressed displeasure with the Hawks defending Magic City Night, leading the league to announce that it had canceled the event.

League commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement that “canceling this promotion is the right decision for the broader NBA community.”

“When we learned of the Atlanta Hawks’ scheduled promotion, we reached out to Hawks leadership to better understand their plans and rationale. While we appreciate the team’s perspective and their desire to move forward, we have heard significant concerns from a wide range of league stakeholders, including fans, partners and employees.”

Luke Cornett was at the forefront of objecting to the Hawks’ Magic City Night

One of the first prominent people to object to the Hawks doing Magic City Night was Luke Kornet of the San Antonio Spurs, saying the team should cancel the event. He would even go so far as to say that it would “reflect poorly on us as an NBA community, especially because of the potential objectification and abuse of women in our society.”

“I and others throughout the league were surprised by the Hawks’ decision and objected to it. We want to provide an environment where fans of all ages can safely come and enjoy the game of basketball and where we can celebrate the history and culture of communities in good conscience. Celebrating strip clubs is not conduct consistent with that vision,” Cornette wrote.

The main reason for the outrage is that the Magic City institution is known as a strip club.

When the Hawks announced it, the event was meant to “celebrate the Magic City, the city’s iconic cultural institution” for the impact it has had on Atlanta’s culture. As a result, it remains to be seen how the discussion will play out now that the NBA has canceled the event, as the discussion has been polarizing.

Collin Sexton misses Kings game with injury amid heavy night

The Chicago Bulls were watching a throwback performance from Collin Sexton on Sunday night, but the celebration was cut short. During a high-stakes matchup against the Sacramento Kings, the dynamic guard was forced to exit early due to a lower left leg injury. The Bulls immediately announced that Sexton would not return for the remainder of the game, leaving a large void in their rotation as he was warming up.

Before the injury, Sexton was arguably the best player on the field. Returning to a bench role with Josh Giddy in the lineup, Sexton provided an immediate spark that the Kings simply could not contain. He scored 28 points in just 22 minutes of action and shot an efficient 9 of 12 from the field, including seven triples. His ability to get to the rim and finish through contact has been the hallmark of his season, and he was on a career pace the night before the failure.

Times are especially tough for a Bulls team trying to find consistency in the final stages of the season. While Sacramento has struggled mightily this year, Chicago needed every score from Sexton to keep pace in a high-scoring affair. Without him, the offensive burden fell back on Giddy and Ayo Dosunmu, but the loss of Sexton’s distinctive north-south pace was evident in the second half.

For Chicago, the hope is that the fusion is relatively minor. Sexton has been one of the few bright spots for the franchise recently, averaging over 20 points per game in his last five contests. The medical staff will likely evaluate him further on Monday to determine if he will miss any additional time. Given his importance to the second unit, the Bulls will need his return as soon as possible to maintain their offensive identity.

Tyler Herro’s ‘sensational’ night against Hornets shows All-Star form is back

As the Miami Heat got a 128-120 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night, it was a collective effort that saw many contributions, but it can’t be denied that Tyler Herro led the way. With the Hornets backing the Heat star into Herro after the tournament, the guard is finally showing his All-Star form of last year in the most important time of the season.

This season has been full of injuries for Herro, as he missed 45 games due to a myriad of injuries, he demonstrated on Friday night why he was an All-Star last season. Herro, who recently returned from a 15-game absence due to a rib injury, had been getting more comfortable over the past eight games, but the three-point shot came back on Friday as he was eight of 10 from that range.

Overall, Herro scored a season-high 33 points on 11 of 20 shooting from the field with nine assists and nine rebounds in 37 minutes, earning a “sensational” take from head coach Erik Spoelstra.

“You can see he’s finding more rhythm each game. And tonight finally the three ball started going his way. And then he can see how it opens up a lot for his game… He was sensational tonight,” Spoelstra said of Axe, formerly of Heat Central, on Twitter.

“I mean, it would have been great to see him have a triple-double, because he had that kind of impact, turning the ball over when he needed to, scoring when he needed to,” Spoelstra continued. “He was manipulating the defense when he needed to.”

After the Heat’s dominant win over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday, the team needed a win against the Hornets on Friday, especially since entering the contest, Miami was eighth in the East and Charlotte was ninth, separated by two games. The team is looking to take advantage of big games and Friday was a great step in the right direction, especially to stop the Hornets’ surging momentum.

Herro said in his TV interview after the game, “We woke up this morning, we came in late last night. And, I mean, our mentality was to come here and try to steal a shot on the road.” “We know how much it means to us in the standings. And it was a collective win from top to bottom. ‘Just for the competitors,’ Spo said this morning. We came and competed; That was a win right there.”

At any rate, the Heat (35-29) look to continue their current four-game winning streak in Sunday’s tough matchup against the Detroit Pistons, who have the NBA’s best record at 45-16.

The Knicks’ silver lining in Jalen Brunson’s off night vs. OKC

It’s hard to maintain the “element of surprise” after enduring a tough 82-game season. At a certain point, opponents know what to expect and how to counter different parts of the team’s plan. While the rest of the NBA should be aware of the many ways the New York Knicks’ offense can thrive, there may be one asset that can confuse teams going forward.

All-Star Jalen Brunson scored just 16 points while shooting 5 of 18 from the field and 2 of 5 from distance in a 103-100 loss to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night. Despite these modest numbers, the Villanova product was able to impact the game with his passing. He collected 15 assists on the night, and showed another way he can lead the attack.

Brunson’s status as a leading scorer will be as important as ever, but his ability to facilitate and set up teammates can turn lackluster nights into serviceable nights, and potentially make elite evenings part of a story that ends with a parade.

Knicks head coach Mike Brown told reporters after the game, “Good basketball game. I thought our guys, they could have turned it around at any time.” “We were down by double digits. I liked our competitive spirit.”

Jalen Brunson’s identity focuses on scoring

Must be stated clearly. The Knicks are at their best when Brunson is one of the team’s leading scorers. In 58 games this season, Brunson is averaging 26.5 points while shooting nearly 47 percent from the field and nearly 38 percent from distance.

Brunson can usually score with ease from all three levels, but he struggled to do so against the Thunder. They scored only two points in the first half and only three points in the last quarter. One of the guard’s key misses occurred late in the fourth quarter when he missed a three-pointer that would have tied the contest.

“I feel like I missed a lot of shots that I would normally take,” Brunson told Jared Schwartz of the New York Post.

If the 29-year-old had put more points on the board when making key passes, it’s possible the Knicks would have defeated Oklahoma City and re-established their identity as an NBA Finals contender.

Jalen Brunson’s demise could help Knicks win ugly games

Any team worth its salt would love to be firing on all cylinders every night, but playoff basketball often demands that teams find different ways to win when things don’t go according to plan.

If Brunson were to experience a poor shooting night during the tournament, his passing could be a skill that could allow the Knicks to steal a game they might otherwise lose. Teammates like OG Anunoby, Landry Shamet, Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns can score in a variety of ways. Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander highlighted the Knicks’ overall firepower after running away from Madison Square Garden with a win.

“Good team. Obviously, a good attack, then they also have really good defenders, so they’re well balanced,” Gilgeous-Alexander said after the contest. “They’re obviously on top of the East for a reason. They’re a good team, a playoff team. Really good roster.”

Even if Brunson stumbles, others could pick up the slack and take advantage of the New Jersey native’s demise. While this isn’t the ideal path to victory for New York, it does provide another reason to be optimistic about a team whose results have been shaky for much of the campaign.

Jabari Walker reveals unfortunate incident before big night vs. Jazz

Jabari Walker had a career-high performance during the Philadelphia 76ers’ 106–102 victory over the struggling Utah Jazz. The 23-year-old bounced back with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, helping the 76ers stage a fourth-quarter comeback against now 18-44 Utah.

However, while the game proved to be huge for Walker, an unfortunate incident occurred before that as the 2022 draftee scratched a brand new car earlier.

“I actually had an unfortunate incident happen today. I just got a new car and I was driving it for like 30 minutes and I scratched it. And talk about being in the zone and you know, I just wanted to come to the game and it was an unfortunate incident for me. Mentally I was walking here like, ‘My brand new car that I just got, I scratched it,'” he revealed, according to a post by PHLY Sixers on X.

However, Walker starred for his team in the absence of several key stars, including Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Paul George, who is still suspended.

“When I saw the first two 3s go in, I was like, ‘Okay. Okay. This is a whole new world. I got a chance to redeem myself’ so I forgot about what happened earlier today,” he said.
Walker’s night started explosively. During his first stint, he scored 15 points on all five of his shot attempts, including four three-pointers.

While he undoubtedly proved vital, it was once again Tyrese Maxey who led the way with 25 points on 8-of-22 shooting. Quentin Grimes also played a key role, especially late in the fourth quarter.

He finished with 16 points and knocked down two go-ahead free throws with less than 17 seconds remaining on the clock. However, this game will be extremely memorable for Walker for several reasons.

Not only did he return with a career-best score, but he did so on a day that didn’t start off on the best of terms.

Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady reveal the mindset behind Bills Night collaboration

The budding partnership between the Toronto Raptors and Buffalo Bills continues. During the 2025 season, the Raptors expressed their support for the Bills on social media. Now, both teams are taking the next step as Toronto hosts Bills Night 2 this Tuesday.

The architects behind this collaboration are two former Raptors players: Hall of Famer Vince Carter and his cousin Tracy McGrady. During the event, Carter and McGrady talked about the rationale behind the collaboration.

According to Josh Levenberg, he said, “Why not bring the two sports together to support each other rather than against each other?”

Carter says the Bills and Raptors fan bases are very similar in their passion for supporting their home teams. Both Toronto and Buffalo have some of the most passionate fan bases, even earning their own nicknames (Jurassic Park for Toronto, Bills Mafia for Buffalo).

“Seeing what Jurassic Park is like, especially when they’re on the road during the playoffs and things like that. Seeing what the Bills Mafia is, if you’ve never had that opportunity, I recommend it, if you’re not a part of it, just to see it. It’s just something special and (we want) both sides to collaborate and do it together.”

How are Carter and McGrady tied to the Bills? In 2024, the two Raptors alumni, along with Toronto FC forward Joey Altidore, were part of a private equity group that purchased a minority stake of the team. Both Carter and McGrady are now part-owners of the Bills, prompting this collaboration.

The relationship between Toronto and the Bills goes back even further. From 2008 to 2013, the Bills played home games in Toronto as part of a series. Discussions have resurfaced about the Bills playing home games in Toronto following the MLSE partnership between the Bills and Raptors, but Buffalo is focused on opening their new stadium first.

The Raptors lost to the New York Knicks 111-95 on Tuesday night. Brandon Ingram led the Raptors with 31 points, while Immanuel Quickley had a double-double of 13 points and 12 assists against his former team.

Luke Cornette doubles down on Hawks’ Magic City Night criticism

As the San Antonio Spurs (43-17) prepare to conclude their five-game Eastern Conference road trip with a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers (33-27) on Tuesday at 8:00 PM ET on NBC and Peacock, center Luke Cornette reiterated his criticism of the Atlanta Hawks’ association with the Magic City.

Cornette addressed the controversy while speaking with Jason Dumas of Action News on 6abc following Tuesday’s shooting. His comments come a day after he publicly objected to the Hawks’ planned “Magic City Night” promotion tied to their March 16 home game against the Orlando Magic.

“I actually saw the statement just last week, the Hawks’ announcement and as far as the point that you have the public voice, I feel like it doesn’t really represent what I know about myself and a lot of others in the NBA. [players] thought. So, I just want to make sure that that part of the discussion is expressed and that it includes criticizing people and things like that – that’s part of the process that white people may be hesitant to do but I think really trying to start a conversation and be able to do that.

He continued:

“It’s important to help make sure everyone in the league is ready to be represented and has an environment like you want.”

Cornette’s renewed comments follow backlash after he first expressed concerns about the Hawks’ partnership. On Monday, he elaborated in a post on Medium, where he directly called on the organization to cancel the event.

“This week, the Atlanta Hawks announced a special one-night collaboration celebrating the city’s iconic cultural institution Magic City during the team’s home game against the Orlando Magic on Monday, March 16,” Cornett wrote. “In their press release, Hawks failed to acknowledge that this location is, as the business itself claims, ‘Atlanta’s premiere strip club.’ Given this fact, I would respectfully ask that the Atlanta Hawks cancel this promotional night with the Magic City.

Luke Kornet says NBA, Hawks haven’t contacted him amid Magic City controversy

San Antonio Spurs center Luke Kornet (7) reacts during the second quarter against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Asked whether the league moved forward after his initial statement, Cornette said:

“Not really after that. I talked to a few people in the league first, just to see what the status of it was, to make sure it was up to date on the situation.”

He said the Hawks have not contacted him.

“No, I didn’t.”

The Hawks’ collaboration has attracted widespread attention, including public support from former guard Lou Williams. While Atlanta has not indicated any changes to its plans, Cornette’s comments add another layer to the broader conversation surrounding the event.

San Antonio will now turn their attention back to the court as they prepare to face Philadelphia on Tuesday night, and look to bounce back from a 114-89 loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday.

David Edelman highlights Jamal Murray’s surreal night vs. Jazz

The Denver Nuggets had quite a scare against the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center on Monday. Luckily, Jamal Murray put on his superhero hat and led them to a hard-earned 128-125 win.

The Nuggets snapped their two-game skid and improved to 38–24, including 22–12 on the road.

Murray looked like a secret member of The Avengers, scoring 45 points on 13-of-19 shooting, including 8 of 13 from beyond the arc. He also had two rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

his brilliant performance was not lost On Nuggets coach David Edelman, as shown in video posted by AltitudeTV.

“Jamal was really special. I mean, 45 points on 19 shots,” Edelman said.

This was not the first time Edelman had praised Murray. When the prolific guard dropped a season-high 52 points in December, Edelman was adamant that Murray was “above average,” underscoring the fact that he is largely underappreciated by fans.

The 29-year-old Murray has had a stellar campaign, including earning his first nod to the All-Star Game. His pairing with Nikola Jokic remains one of the most lethal in the NBA, and the Nuggets will go as far as this pairing will take them.

Meanwhile, Edelman praised his players for maintaining composure despite a tough challenge from the Jazz, who lost 18–43.

“I don’t know, I think people judge wins these days. I don’t. Wins are wins. Losses are losses. We would have beaten OKC (Thunder) if (Alex) Caruso missed that three, we lost tonight, what’s the difference? We’re just trying to win, get ourselves to a good place. I’m proud of the guys for sticking with it. There was no nervousness,” Edelman said.

The Nuggets return to action on Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

San Antonio player asks Hawks to cancel Magic City promotional night

The Atlanta Hawks caused quite a surprise when they announced plans to host a Magic City themed promotion during one of their home games. Magic City is a famous strip club located in Atlanta that regularly attracts celebrity visitors. But not everyone is in favor of the Hawks’ promotion, including San Antonio Spurs big man Luke Kornet.

Luke Cornett, who runs a public online blog while playing for the Spurs, wrote a new post this week explaining his reasoning for why he thinks the Hawks should cancel their Magic City promotion night.

“This week, the Atlanta Hawks announced a special one-night-only collaboration to celebrate the city’s iconic cultural institution Magic City during the team’s home games against the Orlando Magic on Monday, March 16,” Cornett wrote. Given this fact, I would respectfully ask that the Atlanta Hawks cancel this promotional night with the Magic City.

Cornette explained the potential dangers of working in such an industry, and suggested that the Magic City was not the type of family-friendly business the NBA should be promoting.

The Hawks’ Promotional Night is currently scheduled for March 16 during the team’s home game against the Orlando Magic. Ticket sales for the game have reportedly increased, and the team has already begun selling promotional merchandise.

While Cornette may be against the idea, there are others, like former NBA player Lou Williams, who expressed his support for the effort.

Cole Coffield is Mr. Saturday Night

The Montreal Canadiens host the Washington Capitals on Saturday night, hoping to bounce back from a disappointing finish in a 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders earlier in the week.

Once again, Cole Caufield rose to the occasion and gave the Habs a comfortable 6-2 win.

It should also be noted that Jacob Dobbs looked very good, stopping 29 of 30 shots to secure the win. There is no doubt, Dobbs gives the Canadiens the best chance to win games, an advantage that cannot be ignored until the final stages of the season.

Let’s look at the highlights!

mr saturday night

It may seem like a rerun, but I promise it’s just the same script.

Caufield led the offense Saturday night and scored just 30 seconds into the first period. Not only did he strip the puck away from Alex Ovechkin, but he gave former Habs netminder Charlie Lindgren no chance, firing a pinpoint shot just wide of his trapper to the far side.

and then

Of course, we all know that a goal won’t quench Caufield’s thirst when it comes to a performance on Saturday night.

He doubled his tally at the end of the first period, scoring his 35th goal of the season by taking advantage of a loose puck near the goalmouth.

We should probably give his teammates a little credit, but that’s especially true from Sunday to Friday night. Saturday is reserved first and foremost for Caulfield appreciation.

math guy +1

Rather than sit on their laurels, the Canadiens decided to take advantage of their chances, resulting in a very nice goal by defenseman Mike Matheson.

Zachary Bolduc and Alex Newhook were given full credit for establishing the play, with Newhook’s ability to generate his own fast-paced controlled entries with a special stick tap.

All things considered, Newhook doesn’t look like a player who has just recovered from an ankle injury that caused him to miss a significant portion of the season. There’s still a lot of hockey left to play, but it’s incredibly exciting to see him take the field when he returns to the lineup.

first line effect

Kirby Dach has also had a relatively strong performance since recovering from his latest injury.

His shot late in the second period to give the Canadiens a 4-1 lead was one of the best and cleanest shots we have seen since the 25-year-old joined the organization a few years ago. The play also featured one of Nick Suzuki’s three points on the night.

In the long run, it wasn’t enough to save the day for the Capitals, but we have to give Ovechkin credit for scoring two goals. This should come as no surprise, as Ovechkin has terrorized Montreal throughout his career. He has now scored 44 goals and 32 assists in just 63 games against the Habs.

The Montreal Canadiens will be back in action on Tuesday facing the Sharks in San Jose. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 pm ET.

All Montreal Canadiens stats 5v5, unless otherwise noted, via Natural Stat Trick.

Atlanta sees huge increase in ticket prices after Magic City Night announcement

The Atlanta Hawks experienced a sharp increase in ticket prices after announcing their upcoming “Magic City Night” promotion in collaboration with Magic City.

According to Yahoo Sports, the average list price for the Hawks’ March 16 home game increased nearly 300 percent after the team announced the partnership on social media.

Yahoo Sports shared on X, formerly known as Twitter:

“The Hawks and Magic City are teaming up for the ultimate collaboration

Average list price increased 300% after team’s social media announcement”

The promotion, called “Magic City Night”, is scheduled for the time when Atlanta hosts the Orlando Magic. The franchise also unveiled co-branded merchandise, including a hoodie with the Hawks’ logo emblazoned with the Magic City name on the chest. The collaboration quickly generated national buzz and was widely discussed on social media platforms.

Former Hawks guard Lou Williams – widely known by his nickname “Lemon Pepper Lou” – publicly expressed his support for the partnership during an appearance on FanDuel’s Run It Back. Williams, who previously played in Atlanta and has a long association with the Magic City, called the collaboration an authentic reflection of the city’s culture.

His association with the venue dates back to 2020, when his “Lemon Pepper Lou” nickname was popularized due to a visit to the Magic City during the NBA’s Orlando Bubble due to quarantine protocols and referencing the club’s signature wings. Williams later adopted this nickname as part of his personal brand.

Atlanta (30-31) is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference standings and entering the promotion with a three-game winning streak. Whether driven by curiosity, cultural significance or social media momentum, the Hawks’ announcement has translated into immediate market impact, with ticket demand soaring in the wake of the Magic City collaboration.

Spivack returns to top 10 after UFC Fight Night Houston win

On Saturday night, the MMA world leaders return to Paramount+ with a new UFC Fight Night card in Houston, Texas. On the main card of the event, Top 15 heavyweights Sergey Spivack and Ante Deliza faced off to advance in the UFC heavyweight rankings.

After a violent and sustained battle Spivack ultimately won in a decision. Let’s see how his win changed our latest UFC heavyweight rankings.

ufc heavyweight rankings
Troy Taormina-Imagen Images

Sergei Spivak has been a consistent top-15-tier fighter at heavyweight for the past five years. While he has lost six times inside the Octagon, his most recent failures have come against elite competition such as Tom Aspinall, Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Cyril Gane. However, he has also achieved some big wins against big-name or ranked foes.

He scored another goal in February when he scored in a very hard-fought victory over talented finisher Ante Delija. Their latest win halted a potential losing streak and brings them back into our top 10.

9. Shamil Gaziev (14-2)

ufc heavyweight rankings
Stephen R. sylvany-imagen images

Former Brave CF star Shamil Gaziev has had notable performances in the division. Although a doctor’s stoppage cost him his first loss in 2024, the Dagestani big man is 3-1 inside the Octagon, including two nasty knockouts. Gaziev is a rising heavyweight fighter to keep an eye on. However, he took a major risk in November when he accepted a short-notice fight with Waldo Cortés Acosta. This decision backfired and he suffered a crushing knockout defeat.

8. Rizvan Kuniev (14-3-1)

ufc heavyweight rankings
William Purnell-Imagen Images

PFL and Contender Series veteran Rizwan Kuniev joins our UFC heavyweight rankings after scoring the biggest win of his career with a hard-fought victory over Zelton Almeida in February. While it wasn’t great, he proved he could compete with top-10 talent. He’ll need a definite W in his next fight if he wants to maintain his spot in our latest rankings.

7. Marcin Tybura (27-9)

marcin tybura
brad penner-image images

Marcin Tubura has quietly been a mainstay of the UFC heavyweight rankings over the past half-decade. Although his record in the company stands at 14-8, he has grown significantly as a fighter over the years. He is 10-3 in his last 12, with his only losses coming to elite talents Alexander Volkov, Sergei Spivak and current interim heavyweight king Tom Aspinall.

In March, he won a hard-fought victory over Mick Parkin, Aspinall’s trainer partner and one of the better rising prospects in the division.

6. Sergei Pavlovich (20-3)

ufc heavyweight rankings

Sergei Pavlovich has been an absolute crushing machine during most of his UFC career. After losing to Alistair Overeem in his debut match, he reeled off six consecutive wins and all of those wins came via devastating knockout. However, a string of two-match defeats halted all their momentum. But he has righted the ship in 2025 and has scored two decision wins. The most recent fight was against Waldo Cortés-Acosta in Shanghai.

Vincent Carchietta-Imagen Images

Dominican legend Waldo Cortes Acosta has quietly become a serious force in the heavyweight division. In his 12 bouts inside the Octagon, he has recorded 10 wins, including wins against some notable talents in the top 15. The latest came against fan-favorite Derrick Lewis at UFC 324 in January.

“Salsa Boy” showed why he is one of the more athletic and polished strikers in the division when he added the two-time challenger to his hit list inside the Octagon.

4.Curtis Blaydes (19-5)

ufc heavyweight rankings
Credit: Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

Although Curtis Blaydes has had some very tough losses in his career, he has remained a top-five tier heavyweight for most of the last decade. At UFC 299, he finally got a chance to make up for his big fight mistakes and he did so in a big way when he handed Zelton Almeida his first defeat in the Octagon.

The win moved “Razor” into a UFC 304 title match against Tom Aspinall. Unfortunately, the curse of his big fights returned, and he suffered a TKO loss in Round 1 after a strong start. At UFC Baku, the talented wrestler returned and was able to win in a tough fight over Rizvan Kuniev. But this victory could not make any significant contribution in bringing them back into the title race.

3. Alexander Volkov (39-11)

ufc heavyweight rankings
Credit: Jasmine Frank-USA TODAY Sports

Alexander Volkov has been a top-tier MMA heavyweight for a long time. Although he has been unable to earn a UFC title shot, he has remained a veteran in the top 10 over the years. For many watching UFC 310, he scored a win against Cyril Gane that should have cost him the title. However, the judges did not judge it his way and he suffered a crushing defeat from the Frenchman.

In October, he bounced back from the setback to get himself back into title contention with a hard-fought split-decision victory over top-five talent Zelton Almeida.

2. Cyril Gane (13-2)

ufc heavyweight rankings
Credit: Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

Cyril Gane is a superb athlete and one of the most technical heavyweight strikers in the game. This is the reason why he is constantly in the title discussion. However, his wrestling shortcomings remain a problem, and they were evident again in his UFC 310 bout with Alexander Volkov. Fortunately “Bon Gamin” was able to escape and win the decision.

This victory earned him a title opportunity at UFC 321. However, his good luck ran out against Volkov, and his chance to win UFC gold was halted after just a few minutes when he kicked champion Tom Aspinall in both eyes, ending the fight.

1. Tom Aspinall (14-3)

ufc heavyweight rankings
Credit: Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

Englishman Tom Aspinall is the best heavyweight in the UFC. It became official when MMA GOAT Jon Jones decided to step away from the sport earlier this year. The Englishman has defeated many of the best fighters in the division over the past three years and is the undisputed leader in the eyes of most UFC fans.

After definitively avenging the only defeat of his UFC career in the summer of 2024, he made his first defense of the undisputed title in October. Unfortunately, a nasty blow from opponent Cyril Game ended the UFC 321 main event after just a few minutes. An immediate rematch in early 2026 appears likely.

Team USA Speed Skating trolled by Italy with Stephen Curry ‘Night Night’ celebration

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Stephen Curry went viral with his now-famous “Night Night” celebration. Fast forward to 2026 at Milan-Cortina, and Italian speed skaters are following suit.

On Tuesday, the trio of Davide Ghiotto, Michele Malfatti and Andrea Giovannini scored an upset victory over Americans Casey Dawson, Emery Lehman and Ethan Sepura, according to NBC Sports. They won the men’s team pursuit in 3 minutes, 39.20 seconds. This was 4.5 seconds better than the Americans.

After crossing the finish line, they joined in a “Night of the Night” celebration to troll the American team.

The Italian trio not only won the gold medal, but did so in front of their hometown crowd. Furthermore, they defeated the American team that had previously set the world record time.

“Night Night” festival started in 2022. At the time, Curry and the Warriors were playing against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA playoffs. In Game 3 of the first round, the Warriors took the lead in the fourth quarter as Curry came off the bench after suffering an injury.

After scoring a layup over Nikola Jokic, Curry celebrated “Night of the Night”.

From there, it took on a life of its own, especially after the Paris Olympics. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said the moment was one of the greatest moments in basketball history. Additionally, Kerr ended her speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago with the sentiment “night’s the night.”

The Internet Can’t Believe Kawhi Leonard’s Night

Kawhi Leonard turned the NBA All-Star Game into a one-man show. Fittingly, the Los Angeles Clippers star put on a show at his home arena.

Leonard exploded by scoring 23 points – including 15 straight in Game 3 of the USA vs. the World.

Leonard had immediate reactions from on the field to the Internet.

“This is their field,” NBC Sports analyst and former All-Star Vince Carter said during the intermission period.

But the Internet was beside itself watching Leonard go on the scoring end.

Fans quickly reacted to Leonard’s potentially Most Valuable Player performance — including bringing back another of his famous quotes.

The Athletic responded by mentioning how previous All-Stars were not initially voted on by the coaches.

His team, the Clippers, also showered him with a lot of love – including writing his name in all caps.

Leonard dropped 31 points through the new format – a supernatural feat in just 12 minutes. Sirius XM radio personality Rob Perez called it “one of the best All-Star performances you’ll see in a game where the players are really trying”.

Even Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban joined in the internet’s praise.

Leonard told NBA insider Chris Haynes that he expects this year’s celebration to be more competitive.

“It’s going to start with the starters, whoever gets there first,” Leonard told Haynes. “For me, personally, we need to get back to the way it was, and if guys are going to play hard, they’ll play hard. I think it will be competitive this year. I don’t know what the format is like. But hopefully, guys are competing. They usually do, but it’s also an All-Star Game.”

It’s safe to say that he took the game seriously.

Is it a No Ball? 🏏 Night Match Drama: IPL Highlights & Score Updates

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is synonymous with last-over thrills, massive sixes, and nail-biting finishes. However, the latest night match has left the cricketing world divided. With the game hanging in the balance, a controversial “No Ball” call shifted the momentum, leading to heated discussions on social media and among experts. Here is a breakdown of the match highlights and the drama that unfolded under the floodlights.

The Turning Point: The High Full Toss Controversy

Every cricket fan knows that a single ball can change the course of a T20 game. In the penultimate over of the chase, the bowling side delivered a high full toss that the batsman swung at and missed. While the batting team immediately gestured for a waist-high no ball, the on-field umpire remained hesitant.

As per the standard IPL playing conditions, a fair delivery must be below the waist height of the striker standing in an upright position at the crease. The drama intensified when the decision was referred to the third umpire. The ball tracking technology and frame-by-frame analysis showed the ball was right on the margin, sparking the “Is it a No Ball?” debate among fans across India.

Match Highlights: A Rollercoaster Ride

Before the controversy, the match was already a classic. Batting first, the home team posted a formidable total, powered by a blistering half-century from their middle-order powerhouse. The opposition started the chase aggressively, keeping the required run rate within reach.

  • Powerplay Surge: The openers added 60 runs in the first six overs, setting a solid foundation.
  • Middle-Over Squeeze: The spinners dried up the runs, picking up two quick wickets to bring the match back to parity.
  • The Death Over Drama: With 18 needed off the last 6 balls, the “No Ball” incident provided an extra delivery and a free hit, tilting the scales significantly.

Analysis of the Cricket Score

While the final score shows a narrow victory for the chasing side, the scorecard doesn’t tell the full story of the psychological pressure exerted during the night match. The bowlers executed their yorkers well, but the extra pressure of the controversial call led to a lapse in length during the final three deliveries.

Key performers included the Man of the Match for his composed finish and the lead pacer who, despite the drama, finished with an impressive three-wicket haul. For the fans following the IPL live score, it was a display of why this league remains the toughest T20 competition in the world.

Conclusion

Cricket is a game of fine margins, and the latest IPL night match proved it once again. Whether it was a legal delivery or a genuine no ball continues to be a topic of discussion in post-match shows. However, the result stands, adding another layer of intensity to the points table. As the tournament progresses, teams will need to be more disciplined to avoid letting such “drama” dictate their fate on the field.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How is a waist-high no ball determined in the IPL?

In the IPL, if a delivery passes the batsman (standing upright at the crease) above waist height, it is declared a no ball. Third umpires now use automated technology to measure the height of the ball relative to the batsman’s waist to ensure accuracy.

2. Can a captain review a no-ball decision?

Yes, under current IPL rules, players can use the Player Review System (DRS) to challenge wide and no-ball calls (both height-based and foot-faults) made by the on-field umpires.

3. What are the penalties for a no ball in T20 cricket?

A no ball results in 1 penalty run for the batting team, an extra delivery in the over, and a “Free Hit” on the subsequent delivery where the batsman cannot be out by most methods (except run-out).

4. Where can I check the latest IPL cricket scores?

You can follow live scores on official broadcasting platforms like JioCinema or Star Sports, as well as popular sports websites like ESPNcricinfo and Cricbuzz.
