brigton success

The midfielder moved back to Brighton at the end of the January transfer window after spending a year and a half at Borussia Dortmund.

Having previously spent seven years with the Seagulls, he joined them in 2017 before establishing himself as a key player at the club during their recent success.

A €7 million transfer to Dortmund gave him a chance at Champions League football and a chance in the Bundesliga, which he was keen to take. He was initially a key player there too, but this season he found himself falling down the pecking order and so elected to return to Brighton.

He quickly returned to his old club, helping them secure Conference League football the following season. And he is very happy with his decision.

“It was definitely a very good decision. I was able to play regularly again, and in the Premier League, as well as European competition and now qualifying for the World Cup – the best-case scenario I hoped for from this move has come true.”

contract till 2027

His current deal with Brighton runs until 2027, meaning a decision about his future will have to be made before too long.

However, given the success of his comeback, he has no intentions of moving elsewhere this summer.

“Yes, I will definitely continue playing there,” he said.

For now, the focus will be on the busy World Cup summer. Now confirmed with a place in Julian Nagelsmann’s side, Gros is set for an exciting end to a busy season. It was only a short time ago that few people would have guessed that he would be in this position.

Dennis Jenkins perfectly sums up FG’s game win vs. Lakers

The Detroit Pistons continued their strong performance with another impressive win, as Dennis Jenkins had a standout performance against the Los Angeles Lakers. A clutch, game-winning shot clinched the victory, showcasing Jenkins’ confidence in a key moment.

Jenkins turned in a career night, finishing with a career-high 30 points, eight assists and four rebounds. The Pistons relied on him late in the game and his performance was crucial as they defeated a revived Los Angeles team 113–110.

With the win, the Pistons remain firmly on top of the Eastern Conference standings at 52–19, five games ahead of the second-place Boston Celtics. It was their fourth consecutive win and seventh in the last eight games, while the Lakers’ nine-match winning streak ended.

Jenkins took control late and scored key points. He sized up Austin Reeves on the right wing, delivered a powerful jab step, and created space with an effortless step-back before knocking down a confident mid-range jumper to put Detroit in front. After this, he converted the important free throw to ensure the victory and maintained his composure in a tough match.

NBA star Axe, formerly of the NBA, shared Jenkins’ postgame reaction on Twitter, in which he discussed his fearless mentality after burying the decisive shot.

“I’m in that position for a reason. I just have to go out and be me.”

The league’s post highlighted the second-year guard’s confidence after a career-best performance. His response reflects the growing confidence Detroit has placed in him during high-pressure situations.

The result further solidifies the Pistons’ position as a legitimate contender. Jenkins is emerging as a reliable late-game option, adding another dimension to the team’s success.

Ultimately, Detroit is building momentum at the right time. With Jenkins’ production increasing and the team’s winning streak continuing, the Pistons are becoming increasingly dangerous as the postseason approaches, with contributions coming from the entire roster. The team is also expected to welcome back superstar point guard Cade Cunningham around the start of the playoffs after a lung injury, which will provide a big boost.

LeBron James perfectly embodies the Luka Doncic-Austin Reeves pairing

Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves may seem like kids when they joke with each other, but when it comes time to take the court, they mean business for the Los Angeles Lakers.

On Thursday, he arrived at Crypto.com Arena and led the Lakers to a 142-130 win over the Chicago Bulls. Doncic had a stellar performance with a season-high 51 points on 17-of-31 shooting. He also had a near triple-double with 10 rebounds and nine assists. Meanwhile, Reeves scored 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting, five rebounds and seven assists.

It was another efficient performance for the backcourt duo, as the Lakers recorded their fourth consecutive win.

The talent of Doncic and Reeves didn’t diminish LeBron James, who had two adjectives for his teammates, as reported by Benjamin Royer of the OC Register.

“LeBron James calls Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves ‘magical and dynamic,'” Royer wrote on X.

It’s unclear if James chose them specifically to contrast Doncic and Reeves’ styles, but yes, “magical” suits the former, while “dynamic” is perfect for the latter.

Since entering the NBA in 2018, it always felt like Doncic had superpowers. Reeves, meanwhile, has shown vast improvement in his all-around game over the past few years.

For his part, James returned from a three-game absence due to an elbow injury against the Denver Nuggets. He finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

The Lakers won three games without him, with Doncic and Reeves leading the team together.

They improved to 41-25 and have a rematch with the Nuggets on Saturday.

Stephen Curry has perfectly replicated Mike Breen’s iconic ‘Bang Bang’ call

Things aren’t looking great for the Golden State Warriors, especially after a discouraging 129-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at home. The team has been calling time on its star players Stephen Curry and Kristaps Porzingis as they recover from their respective injuries/illnesses, and while they have picked up some impressive wins despite being without their best player, they are not going to advance anywhere in the postseason without Curry’s services.

At this point, the Warriors are a shell of the powerhouse they used to be. Nostalgia can cloud one’s perception of reality, however, as many Dubs fans know that their time as a competitive team under Curry is coming to an end.

But one should never forget how incredibly fun it was to watch the Curry-led Warriors in their heyday, even though it’s been almost a decade since they sealed a historic 73-win campaign.

Curry is at least doing his part to make sure his legacy lives on long after he hangs up the sneakers he recreated Hall of Fame commentator Mike Breen’s iconic “double bang” call of his game-winner from the hash line against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016.

Curry and the Warriors, during their prime, were so unstoppable. Defenses at the time hadn’t yet figured out how to maximize the mathematical advantage of the three-point shot, but there Curry was exposing opposing defenses like it was nobody’s business.

The Dubs won four rings with Curry as the star of the show, and the addition of Kevin Durant shouldn’t diminish Curry and the Warriors’ winning legacy. However, all good things come to an end, and after Jimmy Butler’s injury, the Warriors may be watching the last few good years of Curry’s NBA career come to an end.
