Olympic goaltender linked to trade talks

The Detroit Red Wings need to make big changes and rumors are already flying. Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman clearly stated in the post-season conference call that the team needed better players to advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs. In fact, one NHL insider has an idea for Detroit in a potential trade this summer.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman believes the Red Wings should focus on St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington during the offseason, according to an insider on the 32 Thoughts Podcast. Friedman didn’t think John Gibson and Cam Talbot were problems, but would represent a potential upgrade.

Binnington was the starting goaltender for Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina, leading them to a silver medal. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old goaltender struggled to perform in St. Louis, posting an .873 save percentage and allowing 3.33 goals per game. Although the statistics were not good, Binnington is still a good goaltender.

Prior to his struggles during the 2025–26 NHL season, Binnington had two campaigns with a save percentage over .900 and fewer than 2.9 goals allowed per game. When it matters most, the St. Louis goaltender shows up, as he did in the 2026 Olympics and his last two appearances in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

There are a few things that can stop a potential deal. Detroit’s system has a plethora of highly regarded goaltender prospects. With top prospects Sebastian Cosa and Trey Augustin on the sidelines, the organization may be more willing to ride with Gibson again and show patience.

After all, the Red Wings have other areas of need, including an elite forward and a new bottom six. For now, it’s an interesting idea, but Binnington may not need it.

Sunny Mehta already has a potential devil’s trade partner

Sunny Mehta already has the option to pick up the phone and negotiate a potential New Jersey Devils trade and improve his top six.

After failing to make the playoffs for the 10th consecutive season, the Detroit Red Wings are now the longest-serving team to miss the postseason after the Buffalo Sabers punched their ticket this spring.

Expressing his disappointment with Steve Yzerman declaring a disappointing season, he described the Red Wings as “needing better players” and said that no one in the organization is untouched.

“We will certainly look at any ways we can improve our team to take the next step,” Yzerman said. “Definitely ready to do that. We’re absolutely ready to do that.”

While it’s unclear what direction Detroit’s GM will choose to go this summer, the Red Wings certainly have some players that would benefit New Jersey in a potential Devils trade.

In his introductory press conference, Mehta explained that he wanted to “make smart, objective and educated decisions… again and again, again and again.”

He later clarified that although he has a background in analytics as a former professional poker player, stock trader, and NHL executive, he finds value in blending analytics with his hockey knowledge.

“The reason I ever cared about analytics, statistical probability, is because it helped me win. It helped me win in poker. It helped me win on the trading floor, and it helped me win in hockey. And that’s why I care about it.

“And blending, of course, is important in the same way as in poker it’s not just the numbers. You have to get a feel for your opponent. You have to understand the subjectivity of bluffing. And, you have to understand psychology. And the same is true in trading, right? You have to have a feel for the markets. You have to understand how news affects things, how subjectivity and human emotions affect things.”

So, who can the Devils target in Detroit to improve their roster?

alex debrincat

Who is better than Alex DeBrincat for goals?

DeBrincat is the Red Wings’ leading goal scorer over the past two seasons, with 41 and 39 goals respectively. 2025-26 was the third time in the 28-year-old’s nine-year career that he reached or surpassed the 40-goal mark. He has also scored more than 30 goals in five seasons in his career.

DeBrincat scores in a lot of different ways. He can finish off the rush, shoot from a different zone on offense, he scored 15 power play goals last season, and added eight assists on the man advantage.

DeBrincat is coming off a career-best 85-point season, which will certainly increase his trade value.

However, the Devils have assets to deal with.

DeBrincat – a regular running-back with Patrick Kane – would ultimately be a strong fit next to Devils stars Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt to complete that line.

He has one year remaining on his contract in 2026-27 with $7.875 million before a new contract becomes due next summer.

The Devils need to score more goals and that’s what DeBrincat does best.

lucas raymond

If the Devils want a younger option, Mehta could target Lucas Raymond.

One of the criticisms of Raymond in 2025–26 was that he needed to shoot more. Nevertheless, he scored 25 goals on 173 shots – a shooting percentage of 14.5%.

In four of Raymond’s five seasons in the NHL, he has scored 20 or more goals. In 2023–24, Raymond scored a career-high 31 goals, and the following season scored a career-high 80 points.

Raymond is a skilled all-around forward who should be spending a little more time in the prime years of his career at the age of 24.

On the downside, Raymond was trusted as the driver of his line, rather than being a complimentary piece next to Hughes or Bratt.

The Devils have assets to deal with, their first-round selection Simon Nemec and perhaps one of their young rising forward players, Lenny Haminaho.

Raymond is heading into a third, very favorable eight-year contract with a cap hit of $8.075 million.

Hey, David Blitzer gave Mehta his blessing to spend the cap. He can also swing for the fences.

Insiders highlight the possibility of the Red Sox adding Jarren Duran in a trade

The Boston Red Sox have been one of the biggest disappointments in Major League Baseball this season, entering Friday’s game with the worst record in the American League. The Red Sox lineup has been the primary problem, raising questions about outfielder Jaren Duran’s future with the team.

Robert Murray of FanSided.com wrote that Duran has long been a target of San Diego Padres general manager AJ Preller and would have interest in the league. While Duran could also benefit from a change of scenery, Murray doubts Boston will move him this summer.

READ MORE: MLB Power Rankings Week 4, Red Sox continue to fall

  • Jaren Duran contract (Spotrac): $7.7 million salary (2026), arbitration eligible (2027-’28)

Duran, age 29, earned an All-Star selection in 2024. He finished that campaign with 21 home runs, 14 triples, 75 RBI and a .834 OPS with a .285/.342/.492 triple-slash line. Last season he still managed to hit 16 home runs and 13 triples with 84 RBI and a .774 OPS.

However, he has been in a long-term bearish trend since September 2025. Over his last 187 plate appearances, Duran has hit 26.2 percent of his plate appearances with a .216/.283/.345 triple-slash line.

  • Jaren Duran stats (ESPN): .198/.261/.296, .558 OPS, 1 home run, 23-6 K-BB in 81 AB

According to Baseball Savant, in terms of his advanced numbers, he ranks in the 2nd percentile for whiff rate (39.6 percent), in the 20th percentile for chase rate (25.1 percent), and he is in the 23rd percentile for expected batting average (.219). He’s still an excellent base runner who is a plus defensively (80th percentile above average), but he has shown no signs of getting back to form at the plate.

Boston would rather sell him for an all-time low than his trade value, and given his history, the club is more inclined to retain him and hope for a change. However, if the Red Sox are unable to dig themselves out of this hole by the beginning of July, multiple teams will likely inquire about Duran before the MLB trade deadline.

NY Giants trade Dexter Lawrence much earlier than planned?

A new report suggests that the failed trade from March played a major role in the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals completing the Dexter Lawrence deal earlier than expected.

On Thursday night, the Giants had not one, but two picks in the top 10 of the NFL Draft. Of course, he was selected at No. 5 after a poor 4-13 performance last season. But they added the 10th overall selection after completing the long-rumored trade of tackle Dexter Lawrence last week.

The three-time Pro Bowler wanted a big pay raise despite having a season left on the extension he signed a few years ago. The veterans were no longer interested in granting his request after a year of decline, and both parties realized that a divorce was necessary. Luckily for Big Blue, the Bengals were willing to give up a premium pick in Round 1 for his services.

However, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Giants fans did not learn about the second pick until Thursday night.

“Based on conversations with multiple league sources, it is believed that the unsuccessful Max Crosby trade was a key factor in getting the trade deal done early. As one source said, both teams were concerned about Lawrence passing his physical. Pre-Crosby, it would have been less of a concern.”

-Mike Florio

Florio suggests that the likely plan was to complete a deal during Round 1. However, the Bengals did not want to risk giving up the 10th pick without being completely sure Lawrence was fully healthy.

Last month, the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens agreed to a blockbuster deal that will see the five-time Pro Bowler swapped for a trade package that included two first-round picks. However, shortly after reports surfaced about a deal, the Ravens’ medical staff did not like what they saw following a physical and advised the team to void the deal.

Rockets coach adds to Alpern Sengun trade buzz after Game 3 loss to Lakers

Ime Udoka’s comments following the Houston Rockets’ loss in Game 3 of the series against the Los Angeles Lakers fueled recent speculation that the team could trade young star Alpern Sengun this summer.

The Rockets’ 2025-26 campaign is on the verge of a stunning finish. They entered the year with serious NBA Finals expectations after acquiring future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant. But Houston finished fifth in the conference. Still, they were fortunate in a first-round playoff matchup against a Lakers team without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

However, after a bad loss on Friday night, where they blew a huge lead in the final minute of regulation, the Rockets advanced to Game 4 on Sunday by a 3–0 margin. After the loss, Houston head coach Ime Udoka was asked about their Game 3 collapse, and his opinion was surprising.

“Terrible mistakes. I don’t know whether you want to say young or scared of the moment,” Udoka said in his post-game press conference.

His comments were honest but also very interesting, as they seem to confirm why Alpern Sengun could be on the trade block this summer.

Did Ime Udoka confirm why Alperen Sengun will be traded?

On Friday, The Athletic’s William Guillory explained why the next few games were so important for Sengun’s future in Houston. After being a major part of the team’s rebirth in 2024–25, they had a poor performance late in the regular season and were even worse in the playoffs.

Guillory wrote, “The Rockets were expecting much better than this. More specifically, they were expecting a lot more from Sengun at this point in the season, especially after last year’s playoff run helped solidify the 23-year-old as one of the pillars of the franchise.”

“It’s no exaggeration to say that Sengun has been one of the biggest disappointments in this year’s playoffs – not just in Houston, but among all postseason teams.”

While the two-time All-Star played much better in Game 3, posting 33 points, 16 rebounds, and was +10 when he was on the floor, he couldn’t carry his team across the finish line in a very winnable game at home. It added to his reputation that he couldn’t do it under a bright spotlight for a franchise with championship aspirations.

The team was willing to give up Jalen Green despite notable development in order to trade Durant, with Guillory speculating that Sengun could easily be added to a winning proposal in a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo or Donovan Mitchell in the offseason.

While Udoka didn’t specifically call out Seungun, he was one of the guys who was scared at the moment, and that doesn’t bode well for his long-term prospects in H-Town.

Will the Rockets challenge Sengun in trade offers for Mitchell and Antetokounmpo this summer?

If the Houston Rockets are surprisingly eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the opening round of the NBA playoffs, a new report suggests young star Alpern Sengun will be added to the trade package in a blockbuster deal this summer.

Entering the 2025–26 season, the Rockets were viewed as a real threat to the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and with good reason. A year ago, they took a huge leap under head coach Ime Udoka as their young core showed real promise and they had an elite defense. Adding future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant to the mix seemed like a championship recipe.

However, as the year progressed, the Rockets failed to live up to expectations and questions of poor chemistry have emerged over the past few months. To open the playoffs, it looked like they had a matchup against a Lakers team without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Nevertheless, they enter Game 3 of the series losing 2–0.

If they get eliminated in the first round again this year, there will definitely be roster changes. It would be wise to move on from Durant before he turns 38 in September. It seems like the experiment failed. However, according to William Guillory of The Athletic, there is a real possibility that Alpern Sengun could be used in a blockbuster trade for a top star to pair with Durant next season.

Could the Houston Rockets target Giannis Antetokounmpo and Donovan Mitchell this summer?

rockets
Jeff Hanisch-Imagen Images

This is due to their up-and-down play in the second half of the season, and non-existent play in the first two games of their series against the Lakers. After acquiring Durant from rising star Jalen Green last year, Guillory suggests they could do the same again with the two-time All-Star this summer. His inclusion in any trade package would make him a favorite for any superstar on the trade block in the offseason.

Guillory wrote, “Giannis Antetokounmpo would be a name that has been linked to Houston as a potential superstar who could be acquired in a Sengun trade.” “Kawhi Leonard or Donovan Mitchell could also be possibilities. If Houston makes Sengun available with some future draft picks, it would put them among the favorites to acquire any undrafted superstars who may become available.”

Trading Antetokounmpo will be a top story this summer after the Milwaukee Bucks heard offers before the deadline. Reports surfaced last week that if Mitchell does not sign an extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers after the season, he could also be placed on the trade block. Leonard should also be available as the Clippers look to rebuild quickly over the next two years.

Rumor opens the door for Buccaneers to trade up in Round 2 for perfect Mike Evans replacement

A new rumor has opened the door for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to make a bold move in Round 2 of the NFL Draft and find an interesting prospect to replace franchise veteran Mike Evans.

At the NFL Combine, Miami star Ruben Benn Jr. became a divisive figure when it was revealed that his arms were shorter than the standard for productive EDGE rushers in the NFL. Nevertheless, he was still viewed as a player who should go in the top 10 after playing a key role in the Hurricanes reaching the national championship game in January.

However, 14 teams, including the Miami Dolphins, pursued the talented EDGE rusher. But Tampa didn’t, and they may have gotten a better player than expected with the No. 15 overall pick. But it’s hard to be that lucky twice, and the team still needs to find a player to fill the big void left by six-time Pro Bowler Mike Evans.

Could the Tampa Bay Buccaneers move up to draft Denzel Boston on Friday night?

Well, a new rumor presents the possibility for the Buccaneers to do just that as early as Round 2. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, “The San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills have received calls about potential trades at the top of Round 2 tonight, in what could be a busy trade night.”

The first selection of the trio of teams took place on Friday at Nos. 33, 34 and 35. Washington receiver Denzel Boston is still among the best players available. He has a very good start, good speed, is effective at winning jump balls and competitive pass battles, and is a problem in the red zone. The skills are quite similar to those of the Buccaneers legend.

Tampa Bay has the first pick in Round 2 at 46. So moving to the front of the line on Friday night would be a remarkable jump. However, with three teams willing to move back, there is an opportunity to land a very good prospect to pair with rising star Emeka Egbuka in the coming years.

Rumor opens the door for the KC Chiefs to trade up in Round 2 for Denzel Boston

A new rumor suggests that the Kansas City Chiefs will have an opportunity to move up in Round 2 of the NFL Draft and acquire the talented wide receiver they did not select in Round 1.

The chief was busy on Thursday night. They entered the night with not one, but two picks in Round 1. Selection No. 9 and 29 respectively. However, they were aggressive early on and actually moved up three spots in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. However, this was not meant to go after any offensive lineman or stud receiver. Instead, they drafted Trent McDuffie’s replacement in LSU cornerback Mansur Delaney.

Then, at age 29, they came to the rescue again when they used their pick on Clemson tackle Peter Woods. Going heavy on defense with their first two picks surprised some. Especially since Patrick Mahomes needs more weapons in the passing game, Travis Kelce is likely to retire after this season. Well, that opportunity may come as early as Friday night in Round 2.

4 James Connor Trade Landing Spots After Cardinals Draft Jeremiah Love

The Arizona Cardinals delivered the first mini-surprise of the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Notre Dame star running back Jeremiah Love with the third overall pick in the first round. While love can help overcome crime without recognition, it also means James Connor’s days in Arizona are numbered.

Now that Love is the undisputed RB1 in Arizona, let’s evaluate some potential trade destinations for Connor, who is a two-time Pro Bowler and has a pair of 1,000-yard seasons to his name.

The Chargers believe they have their RB of the future in last year’s first-round selection Omarion Hampton. They also brought in a fast bowler in the form of Keaton Mitchell. Still, a Harbaugh team can never have enough running backs, and Connor is a proven bruiser who is one of the NFL’s toughest players. It will fit perfectly with the bolt.

The Jaguars let Travis Etienne sign with the Saints this offseason, and 2025 fourth-round pick Fearshul Tuten may not be ready for a major role. Hopefully the Jaguars add a RB in the next two days, but if not, why not consider trading a draft pick on day three for a proven stopgap like Connor? He is just a year removed from a 1,094-yard, 8 TD season. At the very least, it will buy the Jaguars longer to find a long-term solution.

Ashton Jeanty is the future of the Raiders. Still, after a tough rookie season, Las Vegas likely wants to boost the competition in their RB room. Jeanty will undoubtedly still be the starter, but having a veteran like Connor, who has had to work tirelessly to earn and keep his role, could be invaluable to a young athlete like Jeanty.

Javonte Williams is the Cowboys’ lead back after a 1,200-yard season. But after that? There are some deep questions in Dallas. The Cowboys have four other guys on the roster, clearly trying to find a reliable backup and potentially a future RB1. Connor won’t be the RB1 of the future, but he will erase any doubt about the Cowboys having enough stuff to get the job done in the RB room.

Detroit Lions target revealed in tonight’s rumored Round 1 trade up

The players the Detroit Lions are targeting in a rumored trade in Round 1 of the NFL Draft have been revealed in a new report.

Heading into this week’s draft, there are an unusual amount of trade rumors flying around this year’s event. Since this year’s quarterback class is weak, there are several teams in the top 10 that are willing to move down to obtain more draft assets for this year and 2027. This provides franchises with a chance to acquire better players than they originally expected in the teens and 20s.

According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Lions are “making trade calls” ahead of Round 1 tonight, and he added that “some teams are looking at Detroit as a trade-up threat.” However, it was unclear what the team that failed to make the playoffs in 2025 might be looking for that they couldn’t find when they were at pick 17.

Detroit Lions target offensive lineman in rumored Round 1 trade

Francis Mauigoa
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

Well, fellow NFL insider Jordan Schultz shed some light on the Lions’ targets on Thursday afternoon. “Looks like a lot of teams in their teens and 20s are trying to take small steps to secure the OL before the race begins. The Lions are one of those teams,” he wrote on X.

This year, there is no clear No. 1 offensive lineman in this year’s class. Therefore, some offensive line prospects who are going high in one NFL mock draft are going to be in others later on. Either way, the Lions are probably looking to move into the late top 10 or early teens.

At that range they’ll likely target Georgia’s Monroe Freeling, Utah’s Spencer Fano, Penn State’s Olivavega Ioane or Miami’s Francis Mauigoa.

Rumor opens the door for the SF 49ers or KC Chiefs to trade for Brian Thomas during the draft tonight

A new rumor has opened the door for the San Francisco 49ers or Kansas City Chiefs to land a Pro Bowl-level wide receiver, which they could actually use tonight during Round 1 of the NFL Draft.

Heading into this week’s NFL Draft, there has been an unusual amount of trade-related talk. With this year’s quarterback class being weak, teams ranked in the top 10 are more willing to trade down and acquire more draft assets this year or next.

However, there have also been reports of teams without a first rounder trying to get a selection tonight, or teams trying to add another pick late in Round 1. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a part of that group, and they’re clearly hanging on to a player they took late in Round 1 two years ago in order to make the selection on Thursday.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “The Jaguars could try to lay the groundwork for a potential trade in the bottom of the first round. A potential lure could include receiver Brian Thomas Jr.”

An opportunity emerges for the 49ers or Chiefs to trade Brian Thomas Jr. tonight

brian thomas
Doug Engle/Florida Times-Union/USA TODAY Network via Imagen Images

There are four teams with late picks in Round 1 who would be interesting to see give up their selection for a one-time Pro Bowl. Those franchises are the San Francisco 49ers (Pick 27), Kansas City Chiefs (Pick 29), Buffalo Bills (Pick 26), and New England Patriots (Pick 31).

The Chiefs targeting Thomas Jr. makes sense as they also have the ninth pick on Thursday night, and are in desperate need of a legitimate receiver. In Kansas City, Thomas could bring the Chiefs’ offense back to the dominant power it was at the beginning of their dynasty.

With Brandon Aiyuk’s future in San Francisco in jeopardy, the 49ers giving up their only first-rounder for Thomas Jr. would be a smart decision. They might be waiting for this perfect opportunity before officially releasing the receiver.

The Bills and Patriots both have fits for Thomas Jr. However, a pair of AFC East teams heavily linked to an AJ Brown trade may hold their pick and wait until the Philadelphia Eagles star officially hits the open market, which is rumored to be after June 1.

Available after 2025, Thomas Jr. has shown he is not a good fit for head coach Liam Coen’s attack. In his rookie season, he earned Pro Bowl honors (1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns) and has a very affordable contract for the next two years.

5 George Pickens landing spots during the draft, including LA Rams, as trade speculation heats up

George Pickens’ future in Dallas is no longer a sure thing. After quieting his doubters and improving his reputation with a breakout season for the Cowboys in 2025, owner and general manager Jerry Jones insisted for weeks that locking up the receiver to a long-term deal was inevitable. Well, that can’t happen now.

On Wednesday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter claimed in an episode Rise That “They’re nowhere with George Pickens at this point. Nowhere. They’re not really talking about an extension.” Later in the day, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told Dallas media, “There will be no negotiations on a long-term deal,” and the pass catcher will play on his $27.3 million franchise tag next season.

This has led to much speculation that the team may consider moving Pickens during the NFL Draft, specifically in Round 1. If he makes that bold move, let’s take a look at five teams that could acquire the player who posted 93 catches, 1,429 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 2025.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

There’s a lot of talk that Dallas would prefer to move up to No. 3 and select David Bailey or Arvel Reese — or whoever the New York Jets don’t take at No. 2. Either could be a long-term solution to fill the gap left in the pass rush after trading Micah Parsons last year.

However, some question whether the ‘Guys, giving up their picks at Nos. 12 and 20, will be tempting to the Arizona Cardinals. But if they offer Pickens and the No. 20 pick as well as the third-day pick, it could be enough. While the Cards have a messy QB situation, the combo of Pickens and Marvin Harrison Jr. will be good weapons for their signal-caller in 2026 and beyond.

New York Jets

new york jet
Rich Barnes-Images

The Cowboys could also try to move up to No. 2 as rumors have been swirling for weeks that the Jets are willing to trade down.

New York coach Aaron Glenn is feeling a lot of pressure to perform better in 2026 or he may be fired. They have high expectations for veteran QB Geno Smith. So getting another big weapon like Pickens could potentially lead to a drastic change in the offense next season. Dallas could benefit from Glenn’s frustration and get whoever they want at No. 2.

los angeles chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are looking to take another big step forward in Year 2 under head coach Jim Harbaugh. They lack a game-breaker receiver in 2025. If Pickens were acquired he could help elevate them into a true Super Bowl contender. Due to the impact Pickens can have on offensive coordinator Mike McDaniels’ system, LA may be willing to drop their pick at 22 for the receiver and give him an extension to serve as Justin Herbert’s WR1 for years to come.

Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams
eric kanha-imagen images

At the beginning of the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams showed they were fully prepared to finish their Super Bowl story when they gave up the No. 29 pick in Round 1 to the Kansas City Chiefs for All-Pro Trent McDuffie. Reports linked him to a possible trade for Philadelphia Eagles star AJ Brown last month. However, they backed out of a deal.

Would LA be willing to give up their pick at 13 in Round 1 for Pickens? Probably not. However, a deal that sends pick No. 13 and Davante Adams to Dallas for Pickens, pick 20, and a third-rounder could be possible. The Cowboys will have picks 12 and 13 in Round 1, as well as a good replacement for Pickens. While the Rams make a lethal WR duo for reigning MVP Matthew Stafford next season.

new England Patriots

new England Patriots
eric kanha-imagen images

Another team that can’t be ruled out in the potential George Pickens trade market is the New England Patriots. They desperately need a young receiver if they hope to have a real chance to get back to the Super Bowl next season.

They are among the teams interested in AJ Brown. However, it may cost two first-round picks. Giving up their pick at No. 31 on Thursday night, plus a third-rounder, could be enough to get them the WR1 Drake Mays wants.

Detroit Lions making trade calls ahead of 2026 NFL Draft

The 2026 NFL Draft takes place tonight at 8 PM ET, and the Detroit Lions hold the 17th overall pick in the first round. After missing the postseason in 2025, succeeding with their first-round pick will be key to continued roster growth.

Still, the Lions can’t be satisfied with holding on and picking at 17th. They may have their eye on a top prospect who Detroit thinks won’t fall into their draft slot.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Lions are making “trade calls” for Thursday’s event. He further stated that “some teams are looking at Detroit as a trade-up threat.”

The Lions could take a look at one of several offensive tackles who are projected to be selected in the first round after Taylor Decker’s request for and his release is granted. Detroit plans to transition Penei Sewell from right to left tackle, but the Lions still need a replacement for their All-Pro on the right side.

Of course, Lions general manager Brad Holmes is known for some draft day surprises. Often Leos go into the night with a specific need, but emerge with a different playmate. Maybe they are planning the same thing again.

With a total of nine draft selections, the Lions have some extra ammo to play with. Still, they don’t even have a third-round pick this year, so dipping into their 2027 draft capital may be necessary for a big move.

Kansas City Chiefs linked to trade for 1,000-yard tight end

Six teams advanced to the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday night with two selections in the opening round. That includes the Kansas City Chiefs, who have the ninth and 29th picks in the first round. Still, that doesn’t mean all six teams will end the night with two new prospects, including the Chiefs.

Recently, John Breech of CBS Sports suggested that the Chiefs could use one of those options to trade for a long-term replacement for Travis Kelce. Specifically, Breech evaluated why the Chiefs should offer the 29th overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for Kyle Pitts.

“On the Chiefs’ side, if they were to acquire Pitts, he would serve as Travis Kelce’s successor,” Breech wrote. “The Chiefs’ star tight end recently signed for his 14th season in Kansas City, but at age 36, it’s hard to see him playing past the 2026 season. If the Chiefs add Pitts, it would give Patrick Mahomes an almost unfair advantage in the passing game.”

Pitts is set to play the season on the franchise tag, which many players don’t like. If the Falcons don’t commit to a long-term extension for the fourth overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, perhaps Pitts would prefer a change of scenery. Plus, who wouldn’t want to get a pass from a future Hall of Famer like Patrick Mahomes?

The Falcons do not have a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and no selections until No. 48. Perhaps they would be open to trading the former 1,000-yard tight end, especially if it nets them a first-round pick. Meanwhile, the Chiefs may feel like Pitts, who is coming off a 928-yard, five-touchdown season, and is still just 25, is better than anyone they could find at 29.

New Orleans Saints could trade Pro Bowl player during 2026 NFL Draft

The 2026 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and there has been a lot of attention paid to which direction the New Orleans Saints might lean with the eighth overall selection in the first round. Still, with a total of eight selections in the three-day event, the Saints will still find immediate contributors later on, especially considering they have two other selections in the top 73 selections.

However, the Saints could also use the draft as an opportunity to acquire one of their most recognizable players, depending on how the draft board looks for both them and other teams.

According to Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, the outcome of this weekend’s draft could “impact” the future of Alvin Kamara and Cameron Jordan’s status with the team.

“I think it could have an impact on it,” Loomis said. “You know, we’ll see what happens, and it goes both ways, it could impact them, from their perspective and also from our perspective.”

Jordan is already a free agent. Meanwhile, the Saints signed running back Travis Etienne to a four-year, $48 million contract this offseason, and Kamara is entering the final year of his contract. It’s certainly possible that another team would be willing to part with a third-day draft selection in exchange for Kamara. The five-time Pro Bowl back is now 30 years old and is playing his first season without at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage.

For a Saints team that has already moved on at the RB position, parting ways with Kamara for any type of draft compensation would be a win. Plus, they would be doing one of their franchise icons a favor by giving them a better opportunity elsewhere. Of course, they could have done him an even bigger favor by releasing him entirely, giving Kamara the chance to choose his own team rather than being traded there.

New mock draft predicts LA Rams will make bold trade for potential Puka Nakua replacement

A notable NFL mock draft suggests the Los Angeles Rams will make one of the biggest trades of the 2026 event for a player considered the best at his position.

After falling just short of reaching the Super Bowl earlier this year, the Rams’ brain trust is motivated to finish the story in 2026. And why not? They will bring back most of the same roster, including reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford.

However, they made some notable changes the following season to overcome division rivals and defending league champions, the Seattle Seahawks. They made a blockbuster trade for Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Trent McDuffie. Then added his teammate Jaylen Watson in free agency. His aggressiveness has earned him the praise of rival officials.

Now, they will look for more players who can contribute in this week’s NFL Draft. They have one less selection in the first round after giving up their selection at 29th overall in the McDuffie trade. However, they still have the 13th overall pick. At that spot, they should be able to get a very good player. But there are rumors that they may not be enough.

Could the Los Angeles Rams trade up in the draft for Cornell Tate?

crowbar
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch/USA TODAY Network via Images

Maybe that’s why The Athletic’s Rams reporter Nate Atkins predicted a bold move in the outlet’s latest NFL mock draft that would have them give up the Nos. 13 and 61 picks and a 2027 fifth-rounder this week.

Atkins wrote, “The Rams are often trying to reach the top 10, but often have to go very far to achieve it.” “This year is different. They move from No. 13 to No. 6 to pursue potential receiver run backs. Carnell Tate is an option in this draft who projects as a future No. 1 pick without injury concerns. And that matters if the Rams are unsure about paying Puka Nakua.”

Atkins mentions that if Makai Lemon were still available at pick 13, he believes the Rams would remain in that slot. But receivers can blow up from that board to the back end of the top 10. This trade would bring to L.A. the player draft evaluators consider the most NFL-ready receiver at the moment.

Nacua is entering the final year of his rookie contract. After two Pro Bowl appearances in three seasons, re-signing him would seem like a no-brainer. However, the ongoing civil lawsuit and erratic behavior off the field over the past six months has raised some doubts over whether he can be invested in in the long term. The 24-year-old recently completed treatment at a holistic care and rehabilitation facility to deal with his recent internal troubles.

Rumor Opens the Door for New York Knicks to Send Mike Brown to Unlikely Team in Summer Trade

If the New York Knicks don’t reach the NBA Finals this spring, a surprising rumor opens the door for them to get rid of Mike Brown without paying the $30 million remaining on his contract.

Despite being on the job for less than a year, Brown is feeling intense pressure in his first postseason as head coach of the Knicks. The former coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings was hired to lead the team ahead of Tom Thibodeau. However, they have won only two games more than last year, and they have disappointed fans more in 2025-26 than in the past few seasons.

Going into the campaign, most Knicks pundits felt the team would have to reach at least the NBA Finals for the coaches, executives, and players to keep their jobs. While firing a coach after one season is a rash move, questions have been raised about the team’s chemistry this season and the Browns’ decision not to adjust their system to get the most out of All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns.

Moving Brown would be costly as the team is still stuck with three years of the four-year, $40 million deal he signed over the summer. Plus, they still owe Thibodeau a three-year extension two summers ago. However, the team may be saved from trouble by an unexpected turn of events.

Can the Warriors save the NY Knicks from the big Mike Brown Bills?

mike brown
D. Ross Cameron-Imagen Images

Steve Kerr’s future as coach of the Golden State Warriors is uncertain as his contract is set to expire soon. According to San Francisco Standard Warriors reporter Tim Kawakami, Brown would be the top choice as a replacement if Kerr opts out.

But why would an elite franchise like Golden State bring in a coach who has been dumped by four teams? Well, Brown remains popular after six seasons in the organization as Kerr’s top assistant and interim coach on two occasions.

Knicks fans saw last season how difficult it is to get an interview and potentially get traded for a coach. However, if the franchise wants to move on from Brown and bring in someone like Billy Donovan, they certainly wouldn’t be asking for too much in a trade with the Warriors.

Rumor reveals Bengals’ original trade target with the No. 10 pick ahead of Dexter Lawrence deal

A new rumor claims that long before the Cincinnati Bengals traded for Dexter Lawrence, they were eyeing a deal for the star defensive lineman. However, the deal fell apart for a very special reason.

Last week, the Bengals shocked many in the NFL when they gave up their chance to make the 10th selection in this week’s NFL Draft to acquire defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence from the New York Giants. The three-time Pro Bowler was disgruntled and was coming off a poor season, so many thought the Giants would be lucky if they got a second-rounder for his services.

Whether you like the cost of the trade or not, the Bengals are still significantly better off on defense for 2026. They desperately needed to do something, especially after losing Trey Hendrickson to division rivals, the Baltimore Ravens in free agency.

Reports indicate that the Lawrence trade came together quickly. So did the Bengals have someone else in mind to trade with their pick at No. 10? According to Essential Sports NFL insider Tony Pauline, the answer is yes.

The Cincinnati Bengals attempted to trade for Max Crosby.

“Sources told me that long before the Bengals traded the draft’s 10th pick to the Giants for Lawrence, the team had discussed trading that selection to the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby. But the Bengals were unwilling to match the pair of first-round picks that the Ravens initially sent to Vegas for Crosby before a failed physical deal voided the deal.”

Landing the five-time Pro Bowler would have been a huge accomplishment and would have given Bengals fans hope of winning an AFC North title in 2026. Additionally, in addition to being an elite pass rusher who is still only 28 years old, he comes in at a reasonable rate and is set to make an average of $28 million through 2029.

After Crosby failed his physical, pundits claimed it would be difficult for Las Vegas to acquire two first-rounders in another deal this offseason. They were right.

Report opens the door to a trade for George Pickens during the draft to the NY Giants or KC Chiefs

A new report has opened the door for the New York Giants or Kansas City Chiefs to move down in Round 1 of the NFL Draft, as well as land a Pro Bowl receiver.

We’re just hours away from Round 1 of the NFL Draft, one of the most exciting days on the NFL calendar. There is always speculation surrounding the annual event, but with this year’s QB class being weaker than usual, there is more talk about trades everywhere in Round 1.

One team that has been linked to a lot of trade discussions as of late is the Dallas Cowboys. They have two picks in Round 1, No. 12 and No. 20, respectively. A recent report suggests the front office is high on Miami’s Reuben Benn Jr. and Ohio State’s Caleb Downs. He has also been linked to Downes’ teammate Sonny Styles.

The Cowboys are expected to have all three off the board by 12. They can try to use two of their choices to reach the top five. But some doubt whether that would be enough for a rival club to give up a selection at that point in the draft. However, he may have another interesting trade feature: George Pickens.

During Wednesday’s edition of ESPN RiseNFL insider Adam Schefter said Dallas is “nowhere close” to an extension Pro Bowl receiver, and is projected to go in the top 10 for a player he is a fan of.

Should the NY Giants or KC Chiefs look for a first-rounder for George Pickens?

veteran
Lone Horwedel-Imagen Images

“They’re nowhere with George Pickens right now. Nowhere,” Schefter said. “They’re not really talking about an extension. They’re not close to an extension. They’re not making a deal at this point. That’s where the situation stands right now, and the Cowboys are said to really like Jordan Tyson. So it’s just another subplot in a draft full of them.”

After working out for teams last week, the Arizona State receiver has been linked to the Chiefs and Giants at picks No. 9 and No. 10 in Round 1. Once again, the Cowboys are out of range if they stick with their pick. However, if they want to move up for Tyson, Downs or Benn – players who could also end up in the top 10 – Pickens could be an interesting player to play.

The Giants would love the opportunity to acquire a weapon like Pickens for Jackson Dart. If the two NFC East rivals surprisingly agreed to a trade, perhaps pick 20 for Pickens and pick 10, and Kevon Thibodeaux would be the starting point for a deal.

The Chiefs would also love to get their hands on a game-breaking receiver like Pickens. It could be worth picking him and the No. 20 pick. Leaving Kansas City with two selections in the final 10 selections of Round 1.

The money side of the trade will also be an issue, but both teams will try to find solutions to get the player who posted 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns last year.

NBA Expert Boldly Says Bam Adebayo to Charlotte Hornets Trade Idea Is a Perfect Win-Win

Popular sports podcaster Bill Simmons has a bold trade idea that would send Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo to the Charlotte Hornets, and both teams should seriously consider it.

The Heat is one of the most respected franchises in the NBA. “Heat culture” is a brand known throughout the league, and the team’s seventh consecutive trip to the playoffs to miss the playoffs proves it. However, the devil is in the details, and their last three appearances were needed to secure the postseason by participating in the NBA Play-In Tournament.

This month, they again reached the play-ins but lost to the Hornets. Furthermore, the team has achieved 50 wins in only one season in the last 12 years. While the Heat are always competitive and reached the NBA Finals in 2023, they haven’t been a serious title contender in a very long time. That’s why this is an important offseason for the club, with ample reason to discuss major changes to the roster.

Maybe that’s why The Ringer podcast host, Bill Simmons, came up with a revolutionary idea this week. In this, Miami will send three-time All-Star Bam Adebayo to the Hornets. At first glance, Heat fans may scoff at the idea of trading away their best player and the guy who scored 83 points a game this season, but they should seriously consider the notion.

Why the Heat should consider trading Bam Adebayo to the Hornets

In a potential trade for Simmons, the Heat would get the expiring contracts of Miles Bridges – who averaged 17.1 points and 5.8 boards – and Grant Williams. They get their first-rounder back in 2027, so Miami can get all of their future first-rounders again. Also, the Hornets have two Round 1 picks this year (14th and 18th overall) and the first in 2029.

Simmons’ guest on the show, ESPN NBA insider Zach Lowe, liked the trade for the Hornets. He also said Adebayo is a North Carolina native and his family goes to a lot of Hornets games every year. “He’ll be great there,” Lowe said.

However, is it worth it for Miami? As Lowe noted, this summer is a “come to Jesus moment” for the Heat. It appears that this group has reached its limits, and it seems like the time is right for big changes. Since Adebayo feels like he’s a perfect fit for Charlotte, they’d probably be willing to give up what Simmons suggested. But Adebayo’s transfer doesn’t mean a losing season in 2026-27.

Bam Adebayo stats: 20.1 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.2 spg, 0.7 bpg

There have long been rumors that the Heat would pursue a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade this summer. Those additional draft picks would make Miami’s offer to the Milwaukee Bucks even better. Still, he doesn’t have to be the only player they get.

Despite Ja Morant’s low trade value, they could easily acquire both Antetokounmpo and Morant this summer. If management still has big faith in Jaime Jacquez Jr. and Kel’El Ware, they could try to re-sign Norman Powell and pair those three with Donovan Mitchell, who reportedly could be placed on the trade block if he doesn’t sign an extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer.

They may still be able to add Morant to that mix if they want. Either way, moving Adebayo to the Hornets could open the door to a major overhaul that would make Miami a better team in the short and long term.

5 bold NFL Draft predictions for Round 1, including Jeremiah Love and a trade

Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft begins Thursday night and everyone knows Fernando Mendoza will be the first overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders. After that, chaos can happen and we’re trying to present some surprises that could happen on draft night.

Let’s take a look at our final set of bold 2026 NFL Draft predictions for Round 1.

New Orleans Saints trade up for No. 3 pick

Bold 2026 NFL Draft Predictions
Samantha Madar/Columbus Dispatch/USA TODAY Network via Images

Myriad of NFL Draft rumors have made it clear that the Arizona Cardinals are engaged in talks to trade down from No. 3 overall. A deal with the Kansas City Chiefs is certainly possible, but general manager Mickey Loomis’ history of draft-day aggression leads us to believe it would be the New Orleans Saints. Along with the quarterback, New Orleans needs to find its own blue-chip talent on the defensive side. That would be Arvel Reese. While David Bailey is the better pass rusher at the moment, Reese offers more versatility as a player with a higher ceiling overall. He could be the centerpiece of the Saints defense for a decade.

New York Giants snag Jordan Tyson, Caleb Downs

Bold 2026 NFL Draft Predictions
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The Dexter Lawrence trade allows the New York Giants to double dip into this attractive prospect pool, addressing needs on both sides of the ball. We think the New York Giants will use the fifth overall pick on wide receiver Jordan Tyson, betting that his injury issues are behind him. When healthy, Tyson is a true No. 1 receiver whose skillset will complement Malik Nabors greatly. For the Giants, this gives Jackson Dart two No. 1 receivers to pair with tight end Isaiah Potential. With the 10th overall selection, head coach John Harbaugh is reminiscent of what the Baltimore Ravens did with the selection of Kyle Hamilton a few years ago. In grabbing All-American safety Caleb Downs at No. 10, New York gets a high-end starter who can do it all.

Washington Commanders Draft Jeremiah Love

Bold 2026 NFL Draft Predictions
Stan Szeto-Imagen Images

Although there is a lot of talk that the Tennessee Titans could choose to bring back Jeremiah Love, we believe Robert Saleh will get his preferred player in David Bailey. So, with Tyson landing in New York, the Washington commanders’ dream scenario unfolds. Running backs may not be the Commanders’ highest need, but blue-chip edge defenders are off the board. It’s also worth remembering that many teams view Love as the best player in the 2026 NFL Draft. He may be just a level below Bijan Robinson as a prospect, but Love’s three-down ability and home-run explosiveness are reminiscent of an All-Pro. That’s the ability you want to pair with Jaden Daniels and Washington will get him.

Los Angeles Rams boost offense with Makai Lemon

Bold 2026 NFL Draft Predictions
Kirby Lee-Images Images

If it hasn’t already been made clear, the Los Angeles Rams are all set heading into the 2026 season and are putting together possibly the best supporting cast around Matthew Stafford. That means selecting wide receiver Makai Lemon with the 13th overall pick. Lemon will be in a position to have plenty of guys to feed into in the Rams’ passing game, but he will also share the field with Puka Nakua and receive guidance from Davante Adams. If he can even be a discount version of Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Rams’ passing attack could be one of the best the NFL has seen in over a decade.

Arizona Cardinals trade up in Round 1 for Ty Simpson

Bold 2026 NFL Draft Predictions
Gary Cosby Jr./USA TODAY Network via Imagen Images

We think a pair of NFC West teams would make unlikely trade partners in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. With the Seattle Seahawks actively seeking more draft capital this year, the Cardinals are taking advantage. After moving down from No. 3 earlier in the night and selecting right tackle Francis Mauigoa, the Cardinals tapped into their war chest of draft picks and moved up two spots from the 34th to 32nd selection overall. This secures a fifth-year option on quarterback Ty Simpson, while Seattle picks up some additional draft picks and possibly lands a player with the second pick in Round 2 that would be taken to end Round 1. A win-win for everyone, and Simpson walks into a position with an advanced offensive line and a great supporting cast of weapons in Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.

San Francisco 49ers admit they may soon trade All-Pro player

The 2026 NFL Draft is fast approaching with the start of the first round on April 23, and San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is busy taking trade calls. This is nothing new, as Lynch is often negotiating deals, whether it’s a new contract for Trent Williams, examining trade costs for other playmakers, or evaluating if he should trade one of his own contracts.

As the 49ers are preparing for the draft, Lynch took time to address local media, where he asked various questions related to the draft and the players who have been the subject of trade rumors throughout the off-season.

When it comes to former second-team All-Pro receiver Brandon Aiyuk, Lynch admitted he doesn’t think there’s a “high chance” he’ll be traded this week. However he acknowledged there is still a chance the team will trade Aiyuk, depending on what teams are willing to offer.

Lynch also said that the 49ers have had trade discussions with specific teams about a potential trade, but of course, he did not say which teams have registered interest. The Washington Commanders are the team most linked to Aiyuk, and their connection with Aiyuk’s college QB at Arizona State, Jayden Daniels, could help a deal.

For now, Aiyuk is set to enter the second season of a four-year, $120 million contract, where he has a $16.6 million cap hit for 2026. Some believe this is too rich for a player who did not play a single snap last season. Yet others, including the 49ers, think Aiyuk can still be a highly productive player if he can stay healthy.

Minnesota Vikings urged to trade JJ McCarthy soon

After signing Kyler Murray, the Minnesota Vikings are widely expected to force 2024 first-round pick JJ McCarthy into a backup role. Of course, the current plan is to work Murray into competing with the 23-year-old quarterback for a starting role, but plans could change quickly.

The Vikings also have Carson Wentz and 2025 undrafted signee Max Brosmer in the QB room, giving Minnesota a total of four options on the depth chart. That’s enough to start the season; Chances are they will eliminate Broesmer and try to add him to their practice squad. But then, things can change.

Recently, Yahoo’s NFL insider Charles Robinson advised the Vikings to trade McCarthy during or shortly after the 2026 NFL Draft, believing this is the time when the third-year QB’s value will be at its peak.

Maybe I’m the only one who believes this, but I don’t think the Vikings are really trying to have a quarterback competition between JJ McCarthy and Kyler Murray. I don’t think McCarthy’s trade value is going to go anywhere but down from here. If the Vikings are ultimately going to deal him, this is the window — either during this draft or after — with a team looking for a young developmental backup. This is soon going to be an Anthony Richardson/Jack Wilson scenario, where there will be no value from the former high draft pick. And something to keep in mind about whether McCarthy is even tradeable: Malik Willis’ early career looked like it was over after his first two years with the Tennessee Titans, but he landed in the right spot in Green Bay and turned that around. That’s the kind of fresh start McCarthy needs. Teams will trade for a quarterback if they can see someone at a reasonable price if they haven’t fallen into a completely bad situation yet.

Yahoo’s Charles Robinson on JJ McCarthy

If the Vikings do find a trade partner for McCarthy, we would imagine they would bring in another developmental prospect to fill the void. Unless they’re really high on Brosmer’s pro prospects. Or perhaps there is a deal to work out with Indianapolis, swapping Richardson for McCarthy and perhaps exchanging some draft compensation that would give both young QBs a fresh start.

For now, the Vikings have publicly offered McCarthy nothing but support. Still, they have moved aggressively to fill out their depth chart, bringing in legitimate competition to push them further down the pecking order. At some point, he may ask, which may also grease the wheels for the business.

The Philadelphia Eagles could actively trade up during the 2026 NFL Draft

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has never been known to hang up the phone when teams call to negotiate a deal involving one of their players. He is also known for being one of the most aggressive NFL GMs when it comes to finding roster upgrades for his team.

With draft weekend set to begin on April 23, you can bet the Eagles have been busy manning the phone lines. The 2026 NFL Draft presents the perfect opportunity to make a deal or two, and the Eagles may have more trades they are working on this weekend.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Eagles “are plotting to make a deal on draft weekend.”

“The Eagles could make more trades beyond any moves related to (AJ) Brown. League sources say general manager Howie Roseman is planning to make a deal on draft weekend. Roseman usually has one or two moves, and other front office executives suspect one is going to happen this week.

According to sources, one possibility is the addition of Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, who the Eagles have vetted at various points this offseason. The Vikings are hell-bent on getting a premium Day 2 pick for Greenard.

League sources say the Eagles and Vikings may revisit discussions they previously had during the upcoming draft, but talks have not picked up pace in recent weeks. However, according to sources, the Eagles’ wish list of trade candidates extends far beyond Greenard. Roseman almost always has a plan A, B, C and D, and his team is one to keep an eye on on one of the busiest weekends on the NFL calendar.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter on the Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles entered Thursday’s event with the 23rd overall pick in the first round. There are a total of eight selections heading into the three-day event in Philadelphia, including Nos. 54, 68, 98, and 114. That’s more than enough ammo to get the job done, especially if they’re targeting players with low trade value.

As mentioned, the Eagles could move on from pursuing someone like Greenard, but there are several other impact players who could be up for grabs. Of course, Roseman already has a solid idea of who is available, and he may be ready to attack.

New England Patriots ‘likely’ to trade for Pro Bowl receiver

So far, ever since the New England Patriots lost in Super Bowl LX, we’ve seen general manager Eliot Wolf make radical changes to the team’s receiving corps. But are they better than before?

Stefon Diggs has been let go (and has yet to sign anywhere else). The Patriots have replaced him with Romeo Dobbs on a $68 million contract. But Dobbs, who has played four seasons, has never gone above 750 yards in a year. However, he finished with a career-high 724 yards passing with the Packers.

Nevertheless, the Patriots may still want to upgrade their group of pass-catchers, and those around the NFL expect New England to do so via trade.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Patriots are “likely” to trade for AJ Brown from the Eagles. But not until after June 1, when they will be allowed to spread the Browns’ dead salary cap charge over two seasons instead of taking the $40 million penalty in 2026.

“The Eagles are open to trading AJ Brown, the Patriots are highly interested in acquiring the star receiver, and according to league sources, talks are expected to resume on or before June 1, which could result in a deal. As a source said of the Patriots’ pursuit of Brown, they “would certainly be attractive then.” A trade with New England is now being considered a possibility.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter on AJ Brown trade

While the Patriots and Eagles have more than a month to work out the specifics of a potential Browns trade, others believe there may already be a verbal agreement between the two teams. Or, the Eagles could still hope another team comes along with an even stronger offer than the one New England is making for the four-time Pro Bowl receiver.

If traded to New England, Brown would be reunited with Mike Vrabel, who was his head coach on the Titans from 2019 to 2021. Suddenly, the receiving tandem of Brown and Dobbs looks better than New England’s top two pass-catchers did last season, when it was just Diggs and Hunter Henry, who were second on the team with 768 receiving yards. Henry is still under contract through 2026.

San Francisco 49ers may be ready to trade recent draft pick

In less than a week, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch will be busy adding youth to his roster through the 2026 NFL Draft. But the 49ers only have six selections, no selections in the third round, and zero selections after the fourth round. San Francisco doesn’t even pick until No. 27.

Still, Lynch will have options to add to his draft capital. This may include considering business declines. Or, possibly trading one of the players on their roster, such as Brandon Aiyuk, or a recent draft pick.

Recently, ESPN’s 49ers insider Nick Wagner reported that San Francisco could be open to dealing cornerback Renardo Green, who is the 64th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. While other teams may be inquiring about the 25-year-old cornerback, San Francisco may still be confident in his long-term prospects.

“One name that has been linked to the trade market in free agency for the San Francisco 49ers this year is cornerback Renardo Green,” Wagner said on ESPN.com. “But despite potential trade discussion coming from the outside, both Shanahan and general manager John Lynch said there was nothing to it. The team did not want to trade Green, and they still believe he has a bright future in San Francisco. It’s worth noting that Green is entering an important third year. He’s a former second-round pick, so this will be his first opportunity to potentially sign a contract extension after this season. The Niners need him to make fewer mental errors. Will need a bounce-back year. I want to keep him for a long time.

The 49ers could use more playmakers in the secondary, yet they may have one lying in the weeds in Green. Many players make the jump to a third year after two full offseasons in the NFL. Perhaps Green is in line for a similar increase in production under 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris. Based on Wagner’s report, the 49ers plan to find out if there is a trade offer that is too good to refuse.

Arizona Cardinals target specific position on 3+ trade at end of first round

After months of evaluation and debate, the 2026 NFL Draft will finally begin with the first round of the event on April 23. The Arizona Cardinals have the third overall pick in the first round, and there is a lot of mystery over what direction general manager Monty Ossenfort is going with.

The Cardinals could take an offensive tackle, but with Paris Johnson solidified on the left side, selecting a right tackle looks like going No. 3. The pass-rusher needs to be in the game, but the Cardinals are already committed to a $76 million contract with Josh Sweat, though he could certainly use help on the other side.

Meanwhile, there has also been talk of the Cardinals being open to a trade in the fall, where they would have a great opportunity to address multiple needs for a team with no identity, or even a starting quarterback for 2026.

According to NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essential Sports, the Cardinals “want an edge rusher with the third pick, which will likely mean David Bailey if he goes ahead of the Jets.” Poulin adds that “Ossenfort will consider moving to the bottom of Round 1 and drafting quarterback Ty Simpson if the opportunity arises.”

Simpson being selected in the first round will come as a draft day surprise, but it’s not too far off from his projections as a second-round selection. Additionally, QBs are often selected ahead of projections, and in a year where Simpson may be viewed as the only other starting-caliber option as a rookie outside of Fernando Mendoza, it makes sense for the Cardinals to make sure they get their guy.

For now, the Cardinals have seven draft selections, one in each round. This includes No. 3, No. 32, and No. 65. Chances are, at least one of those picks will be used on a QB, and it won’t be No. 3.

Kansas City Chiefs working on big trade in 2026 NFL Draft

We’ve already seen a big trade this week, with the New York Giants shipping Pro Bowl DT Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for the 10th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Could the Kansas City Chiefs be close to pulling off another blockbuster with a top-10 pick?

The Chiefs already have the ninth and 29th overall picks in the first round of the draft, but they are reportedly trying to move into the top five.

According to Johnny Venerable of PHNX, the Arizona Cardinals have been in contact with the Chiefs, and are discussing a trade that would send the third overall pick in the first round to Kansas City. Reverend’s suggestion is for the Chiefs to send the No. 9 plus changes to Arizona in exchange for the No. 3, then Kansas City will target the top pass-rusher available.

“Sources tell PHNX Cardinals that Osenfort has already engaged in early trade discussions with GM Brett Veach and the Kansas City Chiefs,” Venerable wrote. “The Chiefs, who have the ninth overall pick, will likely target the top available pass rusher in Texas Tech’s David Bailey or Ohio State’s Arvel Reese. While early trade details are unclear, the NFL Trade Value Chart projects that pick #3 is worth around $2200, while pick #9 is worth #1350.”

The Cardinals had the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft before moving up to the No. 12 pick and selecting left tackle Paris Johnson. The Cardinals will again be looking to trade down and select another offensive tackle to help stabilize their line. The last time they went down from 3, the Cardinals acquired a future first pick in addition to the 34th pick, a fifth-round selection and the No. 12 overall pick.

If Kansas City can make a deal like this, the price will definitely be different this time, as no two draft picks are alike.

Giannis Antetokounmpo shuts down rumors about LA Lakers trade this summer

It seems Los Angeles Lakers fans can ignore past and future rumors regarding the team’s deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

A few weeks ago, the Lakers were looking like a dark-horse team in the Western Conference bracket of the NBA playoffs. Unfortunately, significant injuries to both Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves have completely destroyed their hopes of advancing to the postseason this year.

While they will be hoping that LeBron James can get them past the Houston Rockets and reach the quarterfinals, the Lakers’ front office will have to begin their pivot to tinker more with the roster they are building around Doncic. There are rumors that the team could be involved in trade talks regarding Milwaukee Bucks veteran Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Although he was not included in the discussion before the February deadline, they will have more interesting draft assets to offer the Bucks this offseason. Still, there may be one major problem. The 10-time All-Star is not a Los Angeles fan.

Giannis Antetokounmpo calls Los Angeles superficial

The Bucks were great guests on the first episode of the podcast, hosted by 15-year NBA veteran Goran Dragic. During the chat, Dragic asked Antetokounmpo where he would prefer to go on vacation, Miami or Los Angeles. And the two-time NBA MVP had a surprising opinion about LaLa Land.

“I think L.A. is superficial. I don’t like L.A.,” Antetokounmpo said.

Many believe the nine-time All-NBA honor winner will be able to choose where he goes in a potential trade, and that’s why the New York Knicks are viewed as the favorite. Since he has been on record about his appreciation for the city. If he’s not a Los Angeles fan, it wouldn’t make sense for him to approve a trade with the Lakers.

Meaning, some fans’ dreams of a potential combo of Doncic and Antetokounmpo may not be coming true this summer and perhaps ever.

AJ Brown trade may already be between PHI Eagles, NE Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots have been linked for months in NFL rumors regarding a potential AJ Brown trade. Although talks appear to be slowing down, this is because an agreement has already been reached between the two parties.

On this week’s episode of the Football 301 podcast, Yahoo Sports NFL analyst Nate Tice said he’s spoken to three people around the league, who all agree that a deal has already been agreed upon between New England and Philadelphia.

READ MORE: Latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft

“I have three different people … I’m not the source person, but three people just say something because I’ve talked to people who are with teams, they’ve all told me it looks like the trades after June 1 are pretty much done. I’m not trying to break news here, but I think everyone agrees here.”

Yahoo Sports’ Nate Tice on a potential AJ Brown trade

There’s one more thing worth noting here, as noted by Matt Harmon on Football 301. Jimmy Kempski of The Philly Voice reported last week that some within the Eagles organization believe wide receiver DeVonta Smith can make a statistical leap similar to what Jackson Smith-Njigba did with the Seattle Seahawks last season.

As Harmon noted, this is the second time the Eagles have told reporters they are confident Smith could have excelled in the No. 1 receiver role had Brown been playing elsewhere. While the team’s public comments about a potential trade have always played down the rumors, leaks about the organization’s confidence in Smith suggest there is some preparation for a world where he is the team’s No. 1 pass-catcher.

There’s also the fact that Philadelphia recently acquired wide receiver Dontavian Wicks from the Green Bay Packers. Wicks came into the Packers system while Sean Mannion, now the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, worked in Green Bay as an offensive assistant (2024) and quarterbacks coach (2025).

So, the reporting has made it pretty clear that the Eagles have a lot of confidence in the Smith-Wicks receiver duo next season, with Hollywood Brown serving as the No. 3 receiver. All of these signs seem to indicate that Philadelphia has already prepared itself to operate an offense without Brown with the team.

Of course, no trade can realistically be made until after the 2026 NFL Draft. If Brown is traded before June 1, the Eagles will be stuck with a dead cap hit of $43.515 million, with the move costing them an immediate $20.121 million in cap space for the upcoming season.

However, if a trade is announced after June 1, according to Spotrac.com, the Eagles would have $7.04 million in cap savings this season, with Brown’s dead cap hit spread over the 2026 ($16.353 million) and 2027 ($27.161 million) seasons.

All of that information combined would add credibility to the belief around the league that the Eagles and Patriots may already have a deal in place for Brown. Although there won’t be any announcement anytime soon, it would be a big surprise now if Brown suited up for the Eagles in Week 1, rather than being on the field for the Patriots.

New details emerge on Sacramento Kings’ pursuit of Ja Morant trade

The Sacramento Kings were one of the few teams linked to NBA trade rumors in February with genuine interest in acquiring All-Star point guard Ja Morant. Months later, new information has shed light on why the deal fell through.

According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon and Michael C. Wright, the Kings were one of a select few teams involved in talks with Memphis before the NBA trade deadline. However, Sacramento wanted Memphis to include a first-round pick in any deal.

RELATED: Russell Westbrook Addresses Future With Sacramento Kings

  • Yes Morant contract (Spotrac): $42.166 million cap hit (2026-27), $44.886 million cap hit (2027-28)

In the past, the Kings were widely viewed as a team likely to make a questionable deal to acquire an All-Star player. The most recent example of this came in the De’Aaron Fox trade, when they took less future assets to acquire Zach LaVine in a three-team deal with the San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls.

However, under general manager Scott Perry, it appears that the franchise is no longer willing to make such deals. It appears that Sacramento has legitimate interest in acquiring Morant, hoping a change of scenery will revitalize the All-Star point guard’s career. Apparently, based on this reporting, Sacramento wanted to be compensated by Memphis for taking over Morant’s contract and the injury and off-the-court risks that come with it.

“There will be teams that feel like they didn’t get what they wanted in the draft or free agency, and that’s when something might happen for Ja.”

Unknown Western Conference executive to ESPN on Ja Morant trade market this summer

Unsurprisingly, Morant’s trade value has declined in recent years. However, there is expected to be more interest in him this summer, with teams feeling more confident that they can add him to the team throughout the offseason rather than in a mid-season trade.

It’s also possible that Sacramento may no longer be one of those contenders. If the Kings land in the four to six range of the 2026 NBA Draft, they could take either Houston point guard Kingston Flemings or Arkansas point guard Darius Acuff Jr. In any case, the team will likely re-sign Russell Westbrook as a veteran mentor and have no need for Morant.

On the other hand, if Sacramento moves up in the 2026 NBA Draft lottery and acquires a wing like AJ DiBuntsa or Caleb Wilson, or potentially forward Cameron Boozer, there could be an even bigger incentive to acquire Morant for the next two seasons.

Rumor claims Suns eyeing bold summer trade for 2-time All-Star to pair with Devin Booker

A new rumor suggests the Phoenix Suns will make a summer trade for the talented but troubled two-time All-Star to pair with Devin Booker next season.

The Suns’ season isn’t over yet, and if they can beat the Golden State Warriors in their play-in game tonight they have a chance to secure a playoff spot this month. However, if they are victorious, no one is expecting Phoenix to make a deep run in the postseason. Especially after they lost their first play-in game to the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this week.

No matter what happened Friday night, it was still a positive season for the Suns. Despite firing head coach Mike Budenholzer, trading Kevin Durant, and releasing Bradley Beal in the offseason, the team actually won nine more games under new head coach Jordan Ott. Still, more impactful talent is needed if this team is to take another step forward in 2026-27.

Will the Phoenix Suns pursue a Ja Morant trade this summer?

sobam im-imagen images

Under the leadership of owner Matt Ishbia, the Suns have shown a willingness to be bold in improving the team. Well, a new rumor suggests they may make a risky move to bring in an extremely talented player this offseason. According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Phoenix is emerging as the early favorite to make a summer trade for Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. The other team is believed to be the Sacramento Kings.

The Suns lacked another meaningful player-creator this season. This forced Devin Booker to assume the role of not only their primary scorer, but their top facilitator. Morant will certainly ease the burden of both scoring and playmaking for Booker and could create a dangerous backcourt duo.

However, one comes with potential business risks. Morant’s value is at an all-time low, which is good for the Suns. But this is due to the off-court trouble he can cause and serious injury problems over the past few seasons. Many people associated with the sport felt that due to his injury problems he would never be able to return to the player he was.

4 bold NY Jets trade ideas for the No. 2 pick, including a blockbuster Jammer Chase deal

The only positive side of the New York Jets’ ugly three-win season in 2025 was landing the No. 2 pick in this month’s NFL Draft. Although it’s not the top pick, the team may still get the best player in the 2026 class as the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to take Fernando Mendoza – the best QB in the quarterback class in week one – with the No. 1 pick.

For several weeks, the Jets have been projected to take Texas Tech’s David Bailey or Ohio State star Arvel Reese. However, there is another option, and that is to use their very valuable selection in a trade to accumulate additional picks and fill more needs, or acquire a proven star from a rival team. Especially since he is the second selection in Round 1 (No. 16).

With that in mind, let’s take a look at four bold trades the Jets could make with the No. 2 pick in next week’s NFL Draft.

trade for max crosby

max crosby
Eric Hartline-Imagen Images

One of the biggest surprises this offseason was the Baltimore Ravens’ backtracking on their blockbuster trade for five-time Pro Bowler Max Crosby. That deal would have given the Raiders a pair of first-round draft picks, including the 16th pick the following week.

If Las Vegas still wants to move Crosby, they are unlikely to get two first-down picks after the pass rusher’s medical records are referred to the Ravens’ medical team. However, acquiring the No. 2 pick, as well as the Jets’ additional picks in rounds 2 and 4, and the third in 2027, could trouble the Raiders. This would help Las Vegas get the QB they need in one class and possibly the best player in this year’s class in two.

Traded to Kansas City Chiefs for picks No. 9 and 29

jet
Stephen Lew-Imagen Images

With the current streak of 15 years out of the playoffs and one 3-win year, the Jets need all the elite and affordable prospects they can get. That’s why they could consider a deal where they give up their selection for two first-rounders (Nos. 9 and 29) to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the pick at nine, they could go after a top cornerback like LSU’s Mansur Delaney or Ohio State stud receiver Carnell Tate. With that fourth and final pick in Round 1, another corner like Colton Hood or QB prospect Ty Simpson could be an option.

Trade for Ja’Marr Chase

ja'marr chase
Katie Stratman-Imagen Images

If Aaron Glenn wants Geno Smith to return to his Pro Bowl form, the more weapons the better. That’s why using their pick at No. 2 and going after an elite weapon like the Cincinnati Bengals’ superstar receiver Jamar Chase should be in play.

The Bengals are a mess and have invested a lot of money in three players on offense. Although they would love to keep Chase, he is the best business asset they can consider transferring. That would give them two top-10 picks and a chance to replace star pass rusher, Trey Hendrickson.

Trade up for picks No. 12 and 20 to the Dallas Cowboys

jet
Kirby Lee-Images Images

The Dallas Cowboys are another first-round team that has a couple of options. Jerry Jones will likely fall by himself to go No. 2 overall. Because of the value, New York could get the likes of Dallas on days 12 and 20, as well as something on the third day of the event.

In such a deal, the Jets could use the second pick at No. 12 to go after a top offensive lineman like Kaidin Proctor or Francis Mauigoa, and at No. 20, they could target receiver Denzel Boston or defensive tackle Peter Woods as a potential replacement for Quinnen Williams.

Blockbuster trade brewing? Detroit Red Wings Eye Major 2026 Offseason Move

The Detroit Red Wings need to make a move during the 2026 NHL offseason. After a late-season collapse, the Red Wings fell from leading the Eastern Conference to falling out of playoff contention. However, could Detroit consider making a blockbuster trade during the 2026 NHL offseason?

It looks like the Red Wings could make a move using several of their young assets in a trade package this summer, as David Pagnotta reports on DFO Rundown. Pagnoto said it could be similar to when the Montreal Canadiens acquired defenseman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders.

If so, where should Detroit target in a potential blockbuster trade?

What position should the Detroit Red Wings target in a trade?

NHL: Detroit Red Wings at Toronto Maple Leafs
Dan Hamilton-Imagen Images

The Red Wings had several weaknesses to close the 2025–26 NHL season. Detroit lacked scoring in five of five games and did not perform as expected in the bottom six. So, it’s pretty clear that the Red Wings need scoring. Whether it’s from a defenseman or a forward, Detroit needs to find one this summer.

Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman had the opportunity to acquire defenseman Quinn Hughes in December 2025, but decided not to do so without an extension. It came back to haunt Detroit. However, what if the Minnesota Wild knew Hughes would not be moving on? Although unlikely, it could open the door again.

More than likely, the Minnesota star will not be on the table this offseason. The Red Wings would love to have Hughes lead the offense and defense with Mo Cider, but that doesn’t seem realistic right now. Therefore, the focus should be on acquiring an elite forward who can lead the team offensively.

There are some options. Obviously, Auston Matthews would be a valuable asset if he demands a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs. What happens to Brady Tkachuk if he does the same with the Ottawa Senators? Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson would also be an excellent addition.

These are top choices, so they may not be that realistic. However, Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson and St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas should also be on the trade block. Needless to say, Detroit has plenty of options on the table, even if it isn’t a true NHL superstar like Matthews or Tkachuk.

The Red Wings could be the top team to watch during the 2026 NHL offseason. If so, the roster could look quite different this summer.

Rumor has opened the door for the Miami Heat to trade the star they need, but it’s not Giannis

A new rumor is pushing the Miami Heat towards a trade this summer for the star they need, but it’s not Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Heat are certain to see roster changes this offseason. While they were linked to several trades before the February deadline, the front office took a conservative approach and did not make any meaningful changes to the roster. They had to pay the price for this.

They barely made it to this year’s NBA Play-ins. In their first game of the tournament, they faced a red-hot Charlotte Hornets team and were defeated late in the fourth quarter. But they lost their lead and lost in overtime. The loss means Miami will miss playoff basketball for the first time since 2019. This won’t happen in South Beach.

Many will expect the Heat to push hard to trade for unhappy Milwaukee Bucks veteran Antetokounmpo this summer. However, it would be an expensive deal, and mortgaging the future is a serious risk for a 31-year-old whose body is breaking down after 13 seasons in the NBA and multiple playoff trips. However, there may soon be a better option.

Ja Morant’s time in Memphis has unofficially ended

and morant
petre thomas-imagen images

On Thursday, ESPN’s Tim McMahon and Michael C. Wright reported that Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has reportedly “told players around the league and some of his former coaches that he is no longer playing for Memphis.” A major factor is his hard feelings toward the organization and some of his teammates, who he feels have ostracized him when he was suspended by the NBA three seasons ago.

There is certainly risk in acquiring Morant. He has suffered even more injuries than Antetokounmpo over the past few seasons, and there are questions about character. However, he is 26 years old, and reports last year claimed that some inside the Heat organization believed they could get him back to All-Star form with the help of their culture.

Additionally, with his trade value being lower, he will come at a much more reasonable rate. And with contracts locked in, Miami may not be forced to make money favors by giving up key players. If they can keep Tyler Herro out of the trade, the trio of him, Morant and Bam Adebayo could be a big problem in the East next season.

Miami is an organization that thinks long term. Antetokounmpo will be looking for an even bigger contract over the next few years while on a career decline. While Morant needs fixing, he has the potential to be a big star and a core member of their team for the next decade. He feels like he is a better fit for them.

NFL GM hints at busy trade market in first round of 2026 draft

The 2026 NFL Draft is a week away and the anticipation is growing. With Fernando Mendoza widely expected to be the first choice for the Las Vegas Raiders, the intrigue begins behind him. According to an NFL general manager, the first round of the 2026 draft could be filled with multiple trades.

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach held a press conference a week before the 2026 NFL Draft. Veach teased that fans will be in for some trade activity on Thursday, April 23.

“I think the fans are going to get a treat next Thursday,” Veach said. “I think it should be an entertaining night, probably a lot of business… I think from the fans’ standpoint, they should have a lot of fun next Thursday.”

Several NFL teams have been linked to potential trades during the first round, such as the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. There is a possibility that Dallas could trade the 12th pick to Arizona for the third overall pick. This is one of many trades that have been discussed.

It also does not include trades of established NFL players such as Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown. Although it seems more likely after June 1, it does suggest that NFL teams could move established stars during the 2026 NFL Draft. After all, this wouldn’t be the first time this happened.

Even if no stars are moved in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the fan base should be excited for what’s to come soon. One of the NFL’s best general managers believes there will be “a lot of trades.” If so, the drama and anticipation will continue to increase over the next week.

Dallas Cowboys urged to trade for Pro Bowl cornerback

The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of cap space ahead of next week’s 2026 NFL Draft. While the Cowboys have the 12th overall and 20th picks in the first round, they also have a lot of needs, especially on a defense that gave up the NFL’s most points a season ago.

Many draft analysts predict the Cowboys will double up on defensive prospects by focusing both of their first-round selections on that side of the ball. Others believe a trade could be in the works for one of the draft’s best defensive prospects.

If the Cowboys package their first-round selection together to acquire a top prospect, Dallas may have to get creative to address other needs on their roster. This may involve another trade involving a proven professional rather than more novices.

Recently, Albert Breuer’s Sports Illustrated There have been suggestions that the Cowboys are a team the Indianapolis Colts could look at as they look for a trade partner for cornerback Kenny Moore. The two sides recently agreed to seek a trade this offseason, and that process could yield results at some point during the upcoming three-day draft event.

Breyer believes Moore could be available for the equivalent of a third-day draft pick. If so, the Cowboys could get the former Pro Bowl cornerback at a fraction of the normal cost.

“As for potential landing spots, I think Dallas would be one, with Nickell being a key part of new coordinator Christian Parker’s defense and the Cowboys having a hole last year after Jordan Lewis went to the Jaguars. The Vikings are another potential fit. Teams being in the NFC should also make them potential contenders, assuming Indy doesn’t help a conference rival. Moore, who will turn 31 in August, has a contract He’s in the year, so he’s got some value. But if the price was at a higher level, and I had a need like Dallas, I would probably do that.”

SI’s Albert Breer on the Dallas Cowboys trading for Kenny Moore

Cornerback is one of the positions commonly targeted by Cowboys mock drafts. Still, with this trade, Dallas may not feel as much urgency to address the position at the top of the draft and may feel more comfortable circling back to upgrade the secondary later in the selection process.

If Moore can indeed be a third-day draft selection, we would imagine he would generate a lot of interest. After all, teams, especially contenders, can never have too many capable cornerbacks.

NY Giants insider details what they want in ongoing Dexter Lawrence trade talks

A top New York Giants insider has offered a fresh update on what the team is reportedly looking for during rumored trade talks for defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.

After a breakout season in 2022, Lawrence emerged as one of the core members of the Giants’ roster. In his fourth year, the former first-round pick finally began to reach his potential, and the team’s front office smartly locked him into a new four-year extension worth $87.5 million.

Everything seemed good between the team and the three-time Pro Bowler. However, despite having a poor season in 2025, the 28-year-old has made it clear he wants a raise, or he wants out. While the team has said all the right things, on Tuesday NFL Network reported that recent negotiations have reached an “impasse” and the Giants have begun trade discussions with interested teams.

With a trade always possible, what are the Giants looking for in a deal for a key member of their roster? On Wednesday, SNY NFL insider Connor Hughes offered an update on exactly that. They claim they are “looking for an equitable trade value that they feel is fair.” Whatever the best offer is right now, they will not take it forward.

What could the New York Giants get in a Dexter Lawrence trade?

veteran
Julian Leche via Guadalupe/NorthJersey.com/USA TODAY Network Images

Hughes said that when talking to sources, he compared the situation to the one the New York Jets faced last year when their own star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was asked to transfer. Gang Green also waited until they got what they felt was the best “wow” offer for them. It ended up being a first-round selection the following year, a second-round pick this month, and a trade of Mazzie Smith from the Dallas Cowboys.

Hughest believes the Giants won’t get that return for Lawrence, but they won’t move him unless they get a clear offer they can’t refuse. Williams has another Pro Bowl appearance and All-Pro honors that Lawrence has yet to earn.

So, a deal that includes a few second-rounders and a Day 3 pick could be what the team is looking for in a Dexter Lawrence trade.

Dolphins GM gives major update on D’Von Achen trade rumors: Is a move on the horizon?

New Miami Dolphins general manager John-Eric Sullivan offered a definitive update on the D’Von Achen trade chatter on Wednesday that will please the team’s fans.

The Dolphins have been very active this offseason. After a 7–10 finish, ownership decided to dismantle the team’s leadership and brought in a new regime led by Sullivan and head coach Mike McDaniel, replacing Jeff Hafley. But that was just the beginning.

Over the past month, the team has gone with an add-and-subtract approach to revamping the roster by trading Jaylen Waddle and Minkah Fitzpatrick. And cutting Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Bradley Chubb. This is a serious change that comes with a lot of obstacles and serious limitations to fill those holes. Since the team has sent several established stars packing, there has been much speculation about whether D’Von Achane could be next.

After a Pro Bowl season in 2025 – his first – the running back will certainly have a lot of value on the trade market. Especially since the former third-round pick’s final season on contract is a deal worth just over $2 million. But maybe that’s why Sullivan has no interest in relocating to Aachen this offseason.

Miami Dolphins GM calls off D’Von Achane trade talks

dolphin

During Wednesday’s press conference with Dolphins media, Sullivan told reporters that no matter what the rumors say, Achen is “not available for trade.” Additionally, with only one year remaining on his deal, he said there have been “positive conversations” between him and Bench’s representation about an extension, and he believes negotiations are “going in the right direction.”

After moving so many top players, the Dolphins are left with few core members to build around. Despite having a disappointing year for Miami, Aachen should be a key member of the team long-term after a breakout season in 2025.

Angel Reese stuns as bronzed goddess in Victoria’s Secret campaign after blockbuster Atlanta trade

Someone call Victoria, because her secret is officially out. Angel Reese isn’t just a straight-up baller on the court; She is also bringing the same star power. Angel Reese is redefining what it means to own that room — even when that room is in the middle of the ocean, and the cameras are rolling.

Fashion and sports have always crossed each other’s path, but now? This is different. The lines are blurry, the stakes are big, and the bag is very heavy. Athletes are no longer just throwing around their names as brand endorsers – they are the brand.

Angel Reese levels up with major fashion power move

The former Chicago Sky forward—and utter cultural force—has stepped into a new lane this season: Victoria’s Secret campaign star. And yes… she didn’t creep in, she kicked the door open. Dressed in a dark gray strapless suit with a bold front cutout, Angel Reese posed under running water for shots that basically broke the Internet. The vibe was equal amounts of athlete energy and old-school glamour, which is pretty much her signature at the moment. Reese shared a carousel of photos from the photoshoot on her Instagram.

That suit wasn’t just about looking good. It was made to make a statement. The strapless cut and front detailing played with enough skin to feel risky but still intentional. Add oversized earrings and stacked bracelets, and suddenly you’ve got an edge. And Elegance. Throw in the water-drenched setup, and the whole thing hits like a cinematic moment – raw, moody, and unapologetically loud.

Nothing seemed random about it. Every frame was oozing control, confidence and screaming “yes, I know exactly what I’m doing!” Blink, and you’ll miss it. But hey, no one is looking the other way.

And let’s be real – this isn’t the first time she’s coming out like this. In 2023, Reese performed in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue right after leading the LSU Lady Tigers to a national title. Fast forward to 2025, and she’s making history again by walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside stars like Suni Lee.

At just 22 years old, Reese is already one of the most recognizable faces in American sports — and she didn’t get there by playing it safe. From LSU to the W, his rise has been more than buckets; It’s about showing up as her full, unfiltered self. That kind of authenticity? You can’t fake it, and brands know it.

That’s why this move makes sense. Victoria’s Secret isn’t the same brand it used to be — and Reese is stepping in strapless season The campaign feels bigger than any other collaboration. It feels like a change.

Who is hotter? Sun or Angel Reese? You tell us.

New York Giants may be close to completing Dexter Lawrence trade

The New York Giants have been working on building a roster that is capable of competing for a playoff spot in 2026 throughout the offseason. Moving on from Brian Daboll and hiring a former Super Bowl winner in John Harbaugh is a big part of that. So was Dexter Lawrence, whom Harbaugh called a “medium stone” rather than a franchise cornerstone.

Yet, in recent weeks, the Giants have apparently reached an impasse after Lawrence informed them he wanted a raise on his current four-year, $87.5 million deal, where he ranks as the 12th-highest-paid DT with an average of $21.8 million per season.

After Lawrence determined that the Giants would not back down from his salary increase request, the three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle demanded a trade. Now, there has been some movement on that front.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Giants have indeed reached a contract “impasse” with Lawrence and his agent.

“The Giants have worked with teams on a potential trade and that will continue,” Rapoport wrote. “This should come out before the draft. By the time the draft arrives, the Giants should have a full understanding of the league-wide interest in Dexter Lawrence, allowing them to make an important decision regarding him and his future.”

RELATED: 6 best Dexter Lawrence landing spots after Giants trade request

Several teams have likely already expressed interest in trading for Lawrence. Now that the team has come to an understanding that they will not pay Lawrence’s demands, the possibility of a trade has increased. Plus, with the 2026 NFL Draft only two weeks away, the Giants have a golden window to execute a trade and still have a chance to improve their team/fill the hole left by Lawrence.

Although many teams are in need of a better defensive tackle, there is no one who is viewed as a sure-fire first-round pick. Meanwhile, trading for Lawrence gives teams a chance to make sure they address their weakness with a proven superstar. Thus, competing teams that feel like they are just a stone’s throw away may pay special attention to Lawrence’s market.

New England Patriots executive shoots down AJ Brown trade rumors

The New England Patriots are not tipping their hand here. But the discussion surrounding AJ Brown’s possible move to the Philadelphia Eagles? Yep, that noise isn’t going away any time soon.

So far, nothing has been closed. And until something really hits the wire, it’s business as usual in Foxboro. That said, if Philly does open the door to a trade the Patriots are one of the most logical landing spots.

League conversations suggest it could be a later game after June 1, primarily to optimize the cap hit. But don’t rule out a pre-draft shocker either. With the NFL Draft coming up in late April, a move like this would immediately shake up the board and reset the WR market in a big way.

Patriots left the door open for AJ Brown

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown
Credit: Kyle Ross-Imagen Images

It wasn’t exactly shocking when AJ Brown came out during Monday’s press conference with Eliot Wolf — but if you were expecting a straight answer, you were reading the wrong playbook.

Wolf kept it in classic front-office mode: non-committal, doors open, nothing on the record. As Doug Kydd shared on X, Wolf said, “Patriots EVP Eliot Wolf when asked about AJ Brown: “As far as players on other teams, we’ll keep the door open to anything that we think can improve our roster, whether it’s with the player you mentioned or with other players.”

It’s no surprise that Wolf has avoided commenting directly on Brown and any potential negotiations. There is actual connective tissue between Patts and Brown. Mike Vrabel and the Browns go back to their Tennessee Titans days (2019-2021), which only fuels the “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” narrative.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles have not stopped trade talks at all. If anything, their recent moves, adding Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, and flipping for Dontavian Wicks, feel like roster insulation. Not a replacement for Brown, but enough depth to soften the blow if he gets shaken up.

From the Caps’ perspective, it has “after June 1” written all over it. Only then can Philly make the dead money hit even cleaner. But if they want maximum draft capital in return, it might make sense to pull the trigger before draft night — even if it hurts the books a little more.

Overall, nothing is imminent, and nothing is guaranteed.

But patriot? They are hidden. And if that door mentioned by Wolf remains open, don’t be surprised if AJ Brown eventually walks through it.

The latest on the New York Giants’ stance on the Dexter Lawrence trade.

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade in April, sparking a plethora of NFL trade rumors regarding the All-Pro lineman’s future. While many believed New York would keep their best defensive player, that may not be the case.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports that New York will “at least listen” to inquiries during the 2026 NFL Draft regarding Lawrence. Given the financial impasse between the two clubs, the organization believes that transferring them is a valid option.

RELATED: Reporter reveals potential returns in potential Dexter Lawrence trade

It’s little surprise that a franchise with a starting quarterback, running back and wide receiver on rookie-level contracts would consider moving Lawrence. The beauty of placing stars at premium positions on team-friendly contracts with low cap hits is that it allows the front office to spend heavily on specific talent at other positions.

Lawrence, already a two-time All-Pro selection at only 28 years old, would fit that bill. Not only is he one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL when healthy, but he plays a position in which New York is dangerously weak. Removing him would leave the team in a dire situation on its defensive interior.

RELATED: NFL players who could be traded during the 2026 NFL Draft

A contract extension would likely cost more than $30 million per season. If Lawrence is traded and New York gets the second-day pick back, there’s really no one on the roster outside of Malik Nabors who can dedicate that cap space.

While the array of players in the 2027 NFL free agency class includes players like Drake London, Chris Olave, Tucker Craft, Quenton Nelson and Joey Porter Jr., all of them are expected to sign contract extensions this year. Realistically, New York will want to use that cap space on players who are potentially bigger or not as good as Lawrence. Given this, it remains likely that both sides will work out a long-term agreement.

Baltimore Ravens urged to trade first-round pick for superstar receiver

The Baltimore Ravens have the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Still, there’s always a possibility that they won’t use the selection. Trades are always possible, and the Ravens could move up or down the draft board.

Or, they could also trade out of the first round.

Recently, Bleacher Report’s Christopher Knox highlighted some potential trade outcomes that could emerge during the draft. In doing so, he suggested that the Ravens could trade the 14th overall pick to the Cowboys in exchange for superstar wide receiver George Pickens, who was coming off a career-high 1,429 receiving yards. Pickens is also entering the final year of his contract, leading some to wonder if Dallas would be open to a blockbuster trade offer.

“Replacing Pickens with a receiver like Kevin Concepcion or Omar Cooper Jr. on a rookie contract would make a lot of financial sense,” Knox wrote. “Snagging Pickens would make sense for a team like the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore could use a legitimate No. 1 receiver, and Pickens would certainly fill that need. He might also get a chance to go up against the Pittsburgh Steelers team that snubbed him a year ago.”

While trading the 14th overall pick would be tough, coming away from the draft with a proven receiver like Pickens would be worth the price. The question is, would the Cowboys really be willing to give up one of their best players?

Some think so, but others believe the Cowboys will not mess up during contract negotiations this time.

Green Bay Packers linked to prospect they may have to trade for

The 2026 NFL Draft begins on April 23, and predictably, no one is talking about the Green Bay Packers. Of course, there’s a reason for this, as the Packers don’t have any picks on the first day of the draft. After trading for Micah Parsons, the Packers not only do not have a first-round pick in 2026, but they also do not have their own first-round pick in 2027.

For this year’s draft, the Packers are not scheduled to select until the 52nd overall pick in the second round. Thus, if there’s an early chance that Green Bay’s front office falls in love with him, they may have to move a move across the board to get the job done. With a total of eight draft selections, the Packers have some ammo to work with, even if it isn’t very valuable (only owning Nos. 52, 84 among the top 119 selections).

Yet, recently, NFL insider Tony Pauline of Essential Sports reported that the Packers are spending a lot of time with Oregon offensive guard prospect Emmanuel Pregnon. The 6-foot-4, 316-pound guard is generally viewed as a possibility to land early in the second round, but some scouts believe he could fall late in the first round.

Meanwhile, Pauline said, “If Pregnon starts to slip, keep an eye on the Packers.” Green Bay “sent a lot of people” to Preston’s Oregon Pro Day, and he’s also been interviewing with the team’s coaches recently. Pauline says there are a lot of questions, if not concerns, about the guard’s condition.

“The Packers don’t select until No. 52, which means they have to trade for Pregnon,” Pauline reported.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst isn’t afraid to be aggressive in targeting his favorite players. It remains to be seen if Pregnon is actually in Green Bay’s sights. If so, they may need to move up the board.

6 teams that could trade Myles Garrett during the NFL Draft, including the Jets and Eagles

There have been rumors of the Cleveland Browns potentially trading for top star Myles Garrett for the past few years. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year had also requested his exit a year earlier before receiving an extension from the team.

While general manager Andrew Berry is saying the right things and claims he wants Garrett to finish his career in Cleveland, several NFL insiders still believe a deal is possible, including Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio. On Friday, he made a reasonable case for why a trade should not be rejected and presented a compelling evidence.

“There was a recent contract amendment that delayed Garrett’s offseason option bonus deadline from the 15th of the league year in March to seven days before the start of the regular season,” Florio wrote. “Obviously, this allows the Browns to trade Garrett without paying the option bonus.”

A Myles Garrett trade is still in play, and it could potentially happen right before or during this month’s NFL Draft. If that were the case, let’s take a look at six teams that could use their draft assets to acquire the seven-time Pro Bowler.

dallas cowboys

miles garrett
Matt Kartoziyan-Imagen Images

The Dallas Cowboys still have a big hole at the pass rush after trading Micah Parsons just weeks before the start of the 2025 season. They’re hoping to fill that void with one of this year’s top pass-rushing prospects. However, Garrett is not only a proven commodity, but he is arguably the best pass rusher in the game.

The Cowboys have two picks in Round 1, and an owner/general manager in Jerry Jones is always ready to make a bold move. Could George Pickens be added to a potential deal to help make money? After how poorly we performed on that side of the ball last year, it would make more sense to pay one specific player on defense rather than pay big bucks to three players on offense (Pickens, CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott).

New York Jets

miles garrett
Rich Barnes-Imagen Images

The New York Jets were a disaster last season and need all the help they can get. So having two first-round picks this season is a big plus. However, they are a team in a major market, and bringing in box office stars will always appeal to ownership.

However, they could opt to give the Browns just one of their selections in Round 1 and instead offer first-rounders in future years. Which is not a bad thing. The chance to have the No. 2 overall pick and two picks in the top six this month will certainly interest Cleveland.

pittsburgh steelers

miles garrett
Barry Rieger-Imagen Images

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a league-leading 12 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, including the 21st overall selection. They still have a solid chunk of salary cap space (via Over The Cap) to use for Garrett’s contract.

The Steelers are not a franchise known for making big trades. And the Browns are unlikely to move Garrett within the division. But they may make an offer Cleveland can’t refuse. Such as their first picks in 2026 and 2027, plus five or six more picks this year. Pittsburgh has five selections in Rounds 3 and 4 later this month.

jacksonville jaguars

miles garrett
Mark J. rebilas-imagen images

The Jacksonville Jaguars are tied for the second-most selections in this year’s draft with 11. But the biggest issue with the trade proposal is that they don’t have a first-rounder this year. Plus, they lack notable cap space. However, for a team that isn’t that far away from becoming a serious force in the AFC, Garrett is a target you make risky moves for.

Might Cleveland be interested in a deal for their second and three first-rounders this year, as well as their first-rounder in 2027, as well as players like Brian Thomas and/or Travon Walker? It’s worth a try to get the Browns on the horn and find out.

philadelphia eagles

miles garrett
Jeffrey Baker-Imagen Images

The NFL should be horrified at the thought of Myles Garrett on the Philadelphia Eagles. Although it seems impossible, general manager Howie Roseman can never be underestimated. And as a team in the title race, giving up a late first-rounder won’t be an issue. Additionally, adding a star receiver like AJ Brown to the deal would be a very interesting sweetener.

The Eagles trading for Garrett is a long shot, but it can’t be completely ruled out as they look to capture their second title in three years.

Washington Commanders

miles garrett
Jeffrey Baker-Imagen Images

The Washington Commanders could be a serious contender for a Myles Garrett trade on draft night. According to Over the Cap, he has the seventh overall pick in the NFL Draft and approximately $50 million in cap space. After a surprising decline in 2025, Garrett is the superstar who can lead the Commanders back to the NFC Championship Game next season.

Washington has the resources and desperation to fight to make Cleveland a bold offer during the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville Jaguars Address Dexter Lawrence Trade Rumors

The Jacksonville Jaguars already have an impact player with the surname Lawrence, who makes a big impact on offense. After the Dexter Lawrence trade rumors surfaced, some are wondering if the Jaguars are lacking on defense as well?

Ultimately, Lawrence wants a trade, but it’s possible the New York Giants find a way to commit their three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle to a new contract. But for now, teams are trying to come up with trade offers that could add Lawrence to their roster.

Does it include Jaguar? According to Jacksonville general manager James Gladstone, trading for Lawrence “isn’t something we got into.” Yet, since he is still under contract with the Giants, as Gladstone said, he is “not even free to talk about it.” In public.

In other words, even if the Jaguars are privately trying to make a trade for Lawrence, it’s not something they can really discuss freely with the media. Plus, with the 2026 NFL Draft (April 23-25) right around the corner, the Jaguars are more focused on making sure their draft board is ready to make a splash.

Who knows? If the Jaguars can’t find a defensive tackle early in the draft, perhaps they reconsider the potential cost of trading for a proven star like Lawrence. But right now, that doesn’t seem possible for Duval.

Report opens door for LA Lakers to trade LeBron with recent No. 1 overall pick

A new report has opened the door for the Los Angeles Lakers to replace LeBron James this summer with an excellent prospect and perhaps at a very affordable price.

The Lakers and James have some big decisions to make in the summer. The 22-time All-Star will become a free agent this offseason, and staying in LaLa land for another season is far from a lock. James is 41 and very near the end of his career, while L.A. has made a big pivot in making Luka Doncic the face of their franchise and building around the young star.

A case can be made to get James back on a competitive and financial footing. He is still playing at a high level, and the retirement tour would be worth big money to the organization. However, he will likely demand good money in his next contract, and many will be surprised if he is not a good fit for what the team wants to build. Either way, the front office must prepare for life after LeBron James, whether it’s this year or the summer of 2027.

The team has been linked to a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade this summer. However, they will have to consider an eventual extension for young star Austin Reeves. Keeping three big contracts is not in the team’s best interest, so they should look at different ways to use their money smartly to build the right team around Doncic.

Zachary Rishachar could be on the trade block this summer

lakers
Brett Davis-Imagen Images

Well, an interesting potential trade target who could replace James in the long term will likely become available very soon. This week, The Athletic’s John Hollinger pointed to the diminishing role of Atlanta Hawks prospect Zackary Risacher.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft was a starter for most of the season. However, in its final third, he was relegated to a bench role. Now, over the past few weeks, he has been completely out of Atlanta’s rotation as they make a run at the NBA Playoffs. Considering the Hawks have picked up their club option on Jonathan Kuminga, Rishachar has no role in the team despite his ability.

The Frenchman is a talented spot-up shooter with a strong basketball IQ. At 6-foot-9 and with his good athletic ability, he is a valuable defender who can guard multiple positions. But the big hurdle in his game is that he still needs to get stronger – which hurts his comebacks – and he still has a lot of work to do on his playing skills.

However, he has just turned 21 and has only played two seasons in the league. He’s far from a finished product, and with his price at a new low, the Lakers could land him in a trade without giving up big assets. If JJ Redick and the Lakers are looking for a moldable piece of clay at large, Rishaer should be a summer target to potentially replace James.

Rumor reveals two prospects the Cowboys might want to trade for in the NFL Draft

A new report has revealed that two Dallas Cowboys players would be willing to trade future draft assets to move up and take a pick in this month’s NFL Draft.

There are just over a week left in April, and that means the 2026 edition of the NFL Draft is just a few weeks away. Going into this year’s event, the Cowboys have a pair of picks in the top 20 due to their seven-win season last year and landing an additional first-rounder in a deal before the trade deadline.

Dallas has been linked to a variety of players, with picks 12 and 20 respectively. And acquiring two top 20 talents in this year’s class should be seen as a coup for a Cowboys team that is coming off back-to-back losing seasons. However, it also gives them some assets that they can use to get into the top 10 or maybe the top five.

As we get closer to the event, rumors continue to circulate that Dallas is willing to give up their Round 1 pick and possibly even more to take a player who can make an immediate difference in 2026. But who are the cowboys they love so much that they would take such a bold step? A new report highlights the top 10 prospects they’re big fans of.

The Cowboys are willing to trade up in the draft for Caleb Downs and Reuben Benn Jr.

Cowboy
Jerome Miron-Imagen Images

“A trade remains a possibility, especially if they have a player on their board who is a little behind,” reports ESPN NFL expert Jordan Reed. “Safety Caleb Downs (Ohio State) and edge rusher Reuben Benn Jr. (Miami) are believed to be players the Cowboys will maneuver for, as Dallas reportedly views both as game changers with immediate impact on defense.”

Ben Jr. was a controversial figure at the NFL Combine due to his arms being short by NFL standards. However, the stud pass rusher was a key part of the Hurricanes team that reached the national championship game in January as he posted 9.5 sacks, 54 tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss.

Downs is viewed as one of the most NFL-ready players in this year’s class. Because of his impressive versatility at safety and very high football IQ.

Sullivan and Hafley’s Miami Dolphins draft plan, including trade, revealed?

A new report from the Miami Dolphins may have revealed Jeff Hafley and John-Eric Sullivan’s entire strategy for the first NFL Draft as leaders of the program.

It’s been a very busy offseason for the Dolphins. After a 7–10 finish, ownership decided to clean out the team’s brain trust and gave new leadership to Sullivan as general manager and Hafley as head coach. But that was just the beginning.

Over the past few weeks, the team has adopted a strategy of additions and subtractions by trading Jaylen Waddle and Minkah Fitzpatrick and cutting Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb. This is a big change that comes with a lot of dead cap and serious limitations to fill those holes. That’s why the 2026 draft will be so important for Sullivan and Hafley in the first year.

Do the Miami Dolphins have to wait until days 2 and 3 of the draft to select a receiver?

dolphin
Kirby Lee-Images Images

The Green Bay Packers underdogs will have to build on their picks later this month and set the stage for an even better season to come. But how will they do this? Well, according to ESPN NFL expert Jordan Reed, it will be by following the blueprint he learned in Green Bay, but it could also include “aggressive” use of the additional draft assets they have.

“I expect the Dolphins to be very active throughout the draft after clearing their roster in the studs this offseason,” Reed wrote. “Sullivan comes from the Packers tree, and Green Bay has historically valued premium position picks in Round 1 and pass catchers in Days 2 and 3.

“I think this trend will continue, as there are chances to add linemen early. But with 11 picks, the Dolphins can be aggressive and move up the board for a prospect they really want.”

The Dolphins have seven picks in the top 100 spots of the NFL Draft. So while they took on a lot of debt to overhaul the roster, they will have plenty of opportunities to get a lot of good players in the first three rounds. Or, they can move on and find prospects they love because they have the assets to move forward.

Rumor poses major threat to Knicks, Warriors and Timberwolves’ Giannis summer trade pursuit

A new rumor has added a team to this summer’s Giannis Antetokounmpo trade pursuit that would be a major threat to the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The story of whether or not the Milwaukee Bucks will trade Antetokounmpo dominated the NBA news cycle in early 2026. Especially when reports surfaced that the team was listening to trade offers ahead of the February trade deadline. However, February 6 passed and the 10-time All-Star remained in Wisconsin.

Still, the expectation was that trading would resume this summer. It appears the matter is now at a standstill as Antetokounmpo and the team have clashed over his return to the court in the final weeks of the season. Well, just like before the deadline, the Knicks, Warriors, Timberwolves and many other teams are expected to be the top contenders for the two-time NBA MVP.

Those franchise offerings will be refined this summer. But will that be enough to defeat the Brooklyn Nets, because, according to the New York Post’s Brian Lewis, after appearing disinterested in pursuing a star player again, it is now certain that Brooklyn will “tell the Bucks their desired superstar this summer.”

What could the Brooklyn Nets offer in a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade?

giannis
benny siu-imagen images

From this year to 2030, the Nets have eight first-round selections. Which includes two pieces in 2027, 2028 and 2029. A lot of draft picks will be a key part of any offer Milwaukee accepts for Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Brooklyn will have plenty of them in future years. Another priority for the Bucks will be adding young stars.

The Nets could offer Michael Porter Jr. one season remaining on his contract. He certainly has value after a career year in 2025-26. The big question is whether Milwaukee will see the value in players like Nic Claxton and the team’s five first-round selections from the 2025 class – Igor Demin, Nolan Traore, Drake Powell, Ben Saraf (26th), and Danny Wolf.

Furthermore, while Antetokounmpo wants to play in New York, he may not have any interest in joining a Nets franchise that is known for losing heavily throughout its history.

At the very least, the Nets should be a player in the Antetokounmpo trade market and could make a strong offer that should worry teams like the Knicks, Warriors and Timberwolves.

Houston Texans trade for linebacker from Super Bowl team

The Houston Texans managed to win two more games in 2025 than they won in 2024. Yet, once the playoffs arrived, the story was the same. The Texans still won their wild card matchup, but flopped again in the divisional round, losing by more than one possession to the eventual AFC representative in the Super Bowl.

The Texans’ front office, led by general manager Nick Caserio, has since been busy trying to upgrade their biggest weaknesses. Houston has been active in free agency, upgrading the offensive line. They also aren’t afraid to swing a trade to get the guy they want, like getting running back David Montgomery from the Lions.

Now, the Texans have made a trade for another piece, but it’s for guard Demeco Ryan.

On Tuesday, news broke that the New England Patriots are set to release linebacker Marte Mapu. Yet, before the Patriots could actually process the transaction, the Texans presented a trade offer.

According to ESPN’s Patriots insider Mike Reiss, the Texans are sending a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick to New England in exchange for Mapu.

Mapu was the 76th overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Patriots. The 26-year-old has started 10 of his 44 appearances over the past three seasons. He has compiled half of the NFL’s leading total of 89 tackles, three interceptions, five forced fumbles and one sack.

NY Giants reporter reveals potential draft pick return for potential Dexter Lawrence trade

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence fueled NFL trade rumors on Monday when the three-time Pro Bowl selection requested a transfer from the team. As he and the Giants try to resolve their differences, NFL teams around the league are speculating what a deal could look like for the All-Pro defensive lineman.

ESPN’s Giants reporter Jordan Raanan reported Tuesday that the consensus he had received from sources around the league was that New York’s potential return in a Lawrence trade would be a late first-round pick or an early second-round pick.

“He’s super, super important. He’s a cornerstone football player — not really a cornerstone, like a middle stone. He’s right in the middle. He’s a huge stone, and he’s very active, athletic.”

While New York is one of the deepest teams in the NFL, it’s a much different story internally. If Lawrence were traded, the team would rely on players like Darius Alexander and Roy Robertson-Harris to play a significant percentage of the snaps. This would be a huge blow defensively.

That’s not even to mention the fact that this would create a new need that has to be addressed in the 2026 NFL Draft. New York doesn’t have a ton of draft capital for starters, having only two top-100 selections along with four of the first 150 selections. With the club already having to address the linebackers, wide receivers, cornerbacks and offensive line, trading Lawrence would mean creating a void somewhere that can’t be adequately filled.

To make matters worse, the 2026 NFL Draft class is not particularly strong. A late first-round pick this year could have been a second-day pick last year, and the talent pool in the 25-45 range is largely the same. On a purely return basis, New York almost certainly won’t be able to come close to Lawrence’s impact.

The best option for the Giants is to resolve this contract dispute with Lawrence, finding terms that will work for him on a long-term deal. Given that the team has a starting quarterback, wide receiver and two edge rushers who are still playing on rookie-level contracts, they also have the financial flexibility to give Lawrence both a pay raise and more guaranteed money.

Chicago Bears urged to trade for All-Pro defensive lineman

The Chicago Bears have shown a keen interest in strengthening the trenches since general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Ben Johnson took over. Last offseason, the Bears upgraded the offensive line by trading for Joe Thuney. This offseason, the Bears have an opportunity to boost the defensive line.

On Monday, second-team All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade from the New York Giants. Lawrence is a 28-year-old three-time Pro Bowler who now wants a raise over the $26.9 million cap hit he faces in 2026.

It is highly doubtful that the Giants would be willing to trade their best defenseman, yet now that the trade request has become public, their trade offers will only increase. This may also include bears.

Since the trade request came out, Bleacher Report’s Mo Moton has ruled out a few trade possibilities for the 6-foot-4, 340-pound DT. In doing so, he cited the Bears as one of the most ideal landing spots.

“Before the trade broke down between the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders, NFL insiders had linked Chicago to edge-rusher Max Crosby because the Bears needed more help on the defensive line. Lawrence could provide that and complement Gervon Dexter Sr., who has emerged as a pass-rusher with 11 sacks over the past two seasons.

Between Lawrence and Dexter, the Bears will have over 650 pounds of manpower on the interior of their defensive front. Chicago’s run defense could be better than 27th in yards allowed, one of the league’s strongest units with that big-man combination at defensive tackle.

Bleacher Report’s Mo Moton on Dexter Lawrence’s trade with the Bears

In doing so, he suggested that the Bears could offer a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Bears have the 57th and 60th overall picks in the second round, as well as the 129th overall pick in the fourth round. Is that enough for the Giants to trade one of their best players?

There’s no doubt he’ll provide a significant upgrade to the Bears’ defensive line, but then they’ll likely have to make him one of the NFL’s highest-paid defensive tackles. Still, the Giants are likely to receive multiple trade offers, and they may prefer to trade him out of the NFC.

Auston Matthews linked to surprise NHL team amid trade rumors

Auston Matthews’ future with the Toronto Maple Leafs has been in the news. The Maple Leafs missed the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs, and the direction of the franchise will ultimately decide whether Matthews requests a trade or stays. If this goes the wrong direction, the Toronto star has been linked to a surprise NHL organization.

The insider said on the barn burner, Sportsnet’s Darren Dreger believes the Utah Mammoth will be a big player with Matthews moving forward. Dreger also said the San Jose Sharks would make some sense, but he wouldn’t call the organization a front-runner to acquire Matthews in the future.

Since relocating from Arizona to Utah, the organization has progressed every year. In fact, the Mammoth made a big move at the deadline, acquiring defenseman McKenzie Weegar from the Calgary Flames. Now, Utah has a very strong chance of making the Stanley Cup playoffs as the first wild card team in the Western Conference.

The Mammoth were linked to several big-name players during the NHL trade deadline, such as St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas. Utah has the assets to make a big trade this offseason, making it one of several organizations that could be in the market for Matthews.

However, that would require Matthews to make a decision and request a trade from Toronto. For now, the Maple Leafs will likely attempt to get the organization back to the Stanley Cup playoffs next season. After all, it’s hard to waste a talent like Matthews, William Nylander and Matthew Nease.

Utah is looking to make a major breakthrough in the Stanley Cup playoffs and don’t expect them to fall apart anytime soon. In fact, if everything goes in the right direction for them the Mammoth could end up with Matthews.
