They are in the middle of a home stand that will carry them through the upcoming week. And it’s possible they have reinforcements on the way. LeBron James was upgraded on the Lakers’ injury report after missing the team’s win against the Indiana Pacers on Friday.

LeBron James was officially listed as questionable on the Lakers’ injury report for the team’s game against the Knicks. While he has been dealing with foot problems all season, James suffered a hard fall last Thursday against the Nuggets and the team reported it as a left elbow injury.

In addition to James, backup center Maxi Kleber was also upgraded to questionable. Kleber also missed the Pacers game due to a back strain. Starting center Deandre Ayton, who was sidelined for the Pacers’ win with a knee injury, no longer appeared on the injury report.

While the Lakers have managed to pick up some wins in recent games, they have struggled against teams with winning records. The Knicks pose such a challenge as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Having James potentially back in the lineup is a big boost.

He is in his unprecedented 23rd season in the NBA, and was selected for his 22nd consecutive All-Star appearance. He recently passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most field goals made in NBA history. The Orlando Magic picked up a decisive 119-92 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday afternoon, but the game also included a minor injury to guard Anthony Black. Following the win, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley provided an update on Black’s status during his postgame media availability.

Black was subbed out early after playing only two minutes in the contest. The third-year guard recorded one rebound and one steal during that brief span, while missing both of his free-throw attempts. Orlando later ruled him out for the remainder of the game with what the team described as a “lower back strain.”

Black’s development has been a key component for Orlando as the team continues its push toward the postseason in the Eastern Conference. The Magic’s win over Minnesota marked their third consecutive win and helped improve their record to 34–28.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, reports indicate the 30-year-old big man was upgraded to questionable on the latest injury report. He’s not guaranteed to play against the Thunder on Saturday, but it’s a great first step in the right direction. Seth Curry, Will Richard, and De’Anthony Melton are all listed as questionable as well.

He missed a large portion of the season due to a prolonged illness, which was initially believed to be postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). In February, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr claimed that Porzingis does not actually have potties. But Kerr quickly walked back those comments, making the whole situation a bit confusing. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss Friday night’s game against the Indiana Pacers after suffering a left elbow injury in Thursday night’s 120-113 loss to the Denver Nuggets, the team announced.

In the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game in Denver, James suffered a hard fall on a layup attempt. LeBron’s left elbow landed awkwardly and he lay on the ground writhing in pain before the ball went out of bounds and the game was stopped.

After being helped up and walking to the team’s bench, James was still grimacing and holding his elbows in apparent discomfort. Although James returned to the game after being immediately examined on the bench, his elbow was badly wrapped in ice during the team’s postgame media session in the locker room.

James said he would be dealing with the injury “day by day” and that it was a “funny situation, but it’s more serious.”

The Lakers did not provide any official update on his elbow specifically and did not say whether James had further testing for his injury. The good news is that his injury is being listed as an “elbow injury” and he is not expected to miss any length of time.

His next chance to play will be on Sunday at home against the New York Knicks.

The Los Angeles Lakers received a somewhat encouraging update on center Deandre Ayton after he sat out Thursday’s 120-113 loss against the Denver Nuggets due to a knee problem.

Ayton’s night lasted only five minutes, during which the 7-footer collected two rebounds and missed his only field-goal attempt before heading to the locker room. The Lakers did not immediately rule him out, but ultimately he did not return.

After the game, head coach JJ Redick confirmed that Ayton’s early departure was due to left knee soreness, although the exact severity of the problem is unclear. Without his starting center, Redick adjusted the rotation by giving extended minutes to Jackson Hayes and deploying several small-ball lineups.

The Golden State Warriors returned to their losing streak with a blowout loss at home to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday evening. It was another missed game for point guard Stephen Curry, who had been dealing with a knee injury long before the All-Star break, and has seen his team sink in the standings as a result.

During the game on Saturday, the Warriors received troubling information about Curry’s condition from the point guard.

The Phoenix Suns have been without Devin Booker for the past four games as he deals with a hip strain injury he suffered during the team’s 121-94 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Feb. 19. However, his latest update suggests that he may make a comeback soon.

According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix, reports indicate the 29-year-old guard is expected to return the first week of March. Booker could return for either Tuesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings or Thursday’s contest against the Chicago Bulls.

“Devin Booker is recovering from a hip injury and is poised to return after a four-day break – possibly Sacramento on Tuesday or Chicago on Thursday.”

As for Stephen Curry, who has missed the last five games due to patellofemoral pain syndrome in his knee, Kerr didn’t have much of an update on the star point guard after the team gave him and the Giants an extra day off.

The Warriors essentially took him out of the last two games before the break and the All-Star break to give him as much time as possible to get his runner’s knee under control. The idea is to keep him and Porzingis as healthy as possible for the 27-game sprint that awaits them as the eighth seed and out of the play-in tournament.

They have succeeded in the first part of the plan. Porzingis spent the break rehabbing with the team, while Curry stayed off his feet — except for one crazy trick shot over All-Star weekend in LA. Now comes an evaluation of his progress, as they look to bring him back for a home-run.

“That’s the hope,” Kerr admitted. “But again, we’ll have to—we haven’t seen Steph yet, and Kristaps needs to participate in a scrimmage first. We’ll just see how it goes tomorrow.”

What the Warriors envision for Kristaps Porzingis

As many have pointed out in the wake of the Porzingis acquisition, his size, defense and shooting fit the kind of player the Warriors have been looking for for years. Obviously, that vision requires Porzingis’ rollercoaster medical history to remain stable, but that doesn’t dampen Kerr or the Warriors’ excitement about what he can do for them.

Kerr has said that he would not have traded Porzingis if he had not been confident in his health. And while much of that confidence lies in the highly praised Rick Celebrini and his top medical staff, the Warriors feel confident on the outside with what Porzingis brings to the table.

“He’s fit in easily,” Kerr told reporters Wednesday evening after his first practice since the break. “You don’t have to change a lot. You know, the biggest difference, I think, is his post-up delivery. He’s a very good post-up player, especially against switches. You throw him the ball at the foul line, elbows, even low blocks.”

With Porzingis out, the Warriors are looking for a Band-Aid for a Jimmy Butler-sized hole in their offense. Kerr noted that the spacing created by Porzingis will be different than that offered by Butler, but he is excited for his ability to play within his trademark split-action.

“I’m actually more excited about his splits than having someone else have the ball,” Kerr said. “When we throw him the ball in the post, we ask him to score a lot, but he’s such a dynamic player that you can also run pin downs for him. He can shoot it on the move. He doesn’t just pick and pop … so he should fit in pretty seamlessly with everything we do.”
