on monday, chelsea Manchester City expressed displeasure over the signing of Enzo Maresca. Now the view of the manager from Italy has come to light on this matter.
Citizens have been in the news for several weeks, announcing the arrival of the 46-year-old man. The deal was done and all that was left was the formal announcement. In fact, Maresca was always keen to join Manchester City, even though Italian clubs had inquired about him.
His exit from Chelsea was not easy. Maresca asked to leave, knowing that he was a candidate to replace Pep Guardiola.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has now expressed his belief that the Blues are making something out of nothing.
The blues are distorting the facts
The Italian spoke to the Tuttomercatoweb podcast and Chelsea's press release regarding Maresca was a major point of discussion.
Di Marzio claims that the London club wants to sway public opinion in its favor through its stance. He dismissed it as a PR tactic, especially since he has been compensated.
He said- via tuttonapoli: “I smiled A little sour on the rebuilding done by Chelsea. They have imposed a version of the story, if you like, that you all clearly understand did not happen.
"City had to pay a whopping €20m to release Maresca and make him manager of Manchester City. Chelsea have insisted on reconstructing the story, making it appear Maresca has done them a disservice."That club. He was only thinking about Manchester City, that by resigning he created problems for the club, and all these various reconstructions, which, I repeat, tells a distorted truth.
Attacking Chelsea, Di Marzio criticized how they handled Maresca's time at the club.
“Chelsea is in a very special situation where the manager cannot always act with complete autonomy and freedom, and the same happened with Enzo Maresca, who had to say enough at a certain point because the situation was Unbearable.”
Describing this as a case of distortion of truth, the journalist said: "Now the whole thing has been twisted so that Blues fans can try to get away with it cleanly, but everyone in the know knows the truth is not what was told with the power of a press release and the power of money."

Our Opinion: Two sides to every story
This seems like a close representation of Maresca's version of events. So if Chelsea have made their case, Manchester City's new manager is doing the same.
That said, Chelsea have struggled to find a long-term manager in recent years, and it's clear they don't have full power. It remains to be seen whether it will be different for Xabi Alonso.
